There were rumors before WrestleMania 36 that WWE could be planning a mask vs. title match between Rey Mysterio and The US Champion Andrade for the show.
While this match obviously did not take place, it appears that the Master Of 619 is not shying away from the concept and he is open to putting his mask on the line in WWE.
The former World Champion recently appeared on The Bump and talking about the possibility of putting his mask on the line, Mysterio said he would jump to it in a heartbeat if the opportunity came about:
“If the opportunity came about, I would jump in a
heartbeat [on putting his mask on the line again], I think that’s what makes
Lucha Libre exciting and in this case to bring Lucha Libre to the WWE, and show
the WWE Universe the excitement behind the mask vs. hair match, or the mask vs.
title match.
You know you put your heart out there in those matches.” said Rey Mysterio. “I would actually love to jump in the ring one of these days before I retire and put my mask on the line against something that is well worth it.”
The former World Champion had previously put his mask on the
line when he teamed up with Konnan and lost to Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in a
hair vs. mask match at WCW SuperBrawl IX in 1999.
His unmasking caused quite the stir and Rey Mysterio had to
seek permission from the Lucha Libre Commission to wear his mask again because
of its significance in the lucha libre world.
ESPN will be running a Brock Lesnar marathon this Sunday and the channel will be showing content related to the Beast including some of his UFC bouts throughout the day.
Before this marathon, the organization spoke to many WWE
superstars and other personalities of his life and asked them to describe the
current WWE Champion in real life.
When they asked former WWE star CM Punk about Lesnar, the
Straight Edge Star said that he doesn’t want to ruin his image, but described
the former UFC star as a sweetheart:
“I don’t want to ruin his image, I think he’s a f—in’ sweetheart. This is a guy, when I got into MMA and I left wrestling, he was texting me, ‘Hey, if you need any help.’ I’m always kind of a standoffish guy. It’s hard to open up and trust people in the pro wrestling world. I think Brock has got a big heart, and that’s something a lot of people don’t talk about. “
Punk also discussed his match with Lesnar from SummerSlam 2013. He said that he didn’t know if the Monsterous Athlete would be receptive to any ideas. However, the match turned out to be fun and it was everything he loves about wrestling.
Rey Mysterio On The Human Side Of Brock Lesnar
Rey Mysterio who was there for Brock Lesnar’s first run with
WWE recalled how Lesnar had become miserable during his run and explained how
this shows the human side of him:
“I remember at one point Brock being miserable, This is right before he left WWE in 2004 the first time. We were going to Europe, and my wife and I were sitting right behind Brock on the charter plane. I just saw Brock biting the f— out of his nails and looking at a picture of one of his kids.
It really hit him, the fact that he had to travel so much. That was the human side of him. The father instinct that he has. Shortly after that, he was like, ‘I’ve gotta get out of here, bro. I can’t f—ing do this anymore.'”
Mysterio went on to claim that seeing Lesnar like that put
things into perspective for him and it made him see his personal life in a
different way as well.
The article also featured comments from the likes of his on-screen advocate Paul Heyman and Jim Ross. You can check out the full piece at this link.
Rey Mysterio and Dana Brooke are both off WrestleMania 36 due to being in quarantine. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, both wrestlers are off the WrestleMania 36 cards as a result.
No other details are immediately available regarding their medical conditions but it is said that people are being cautious if they are feeling sick due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Dana Brooke had been scheduled in the multi-person match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. Her involvement in the match had been announced on Smackdown last Friday.
Mysterio had not been announced for a match at WrestleMania. He wrestled on the March 16th edition of Raw, defeating US Champion Andrade in a non-title match.
Andrade has since been announced as teaming with Angel Garza against the Street Profits for the RAW tag team championships at WrestleMania. Garza and Andrade defeated Ricochet and Cedric Alexander last night on RAW. The Street Profits defeated Brendan Vink and Shane Thorne on the show as well.

Rey Mysterio recently spoke with TV Insider where he spoke about how WWE United States Champion Andrade reminds him of WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero.
This is where the idea of a potential Mask vs. Title match between himself and Andrade at WrestleMania 36 was brought up.
This comes after Andrade recently snatched Rey’s mask off during a post-match angle. Andrade just retained the United States Title over Mysterio in a Ladder match on last Monday’s episode of RAW.
Mysterio noted that he would be willing to do a Mask vs. Hair match at WrestleMania 36, which he thinks would be a huge stepping stone for them
“I think something along the ways that if he wants to keep feuding and going a step further, I’m willing to put my mask on the line versus his hair for a WrestleMania moment. Whatever the case might be, whoever ends up winning, I think it would be a huge stepping stone for either of us.
As far as moments, I really would love to relive a Royal Rumble moment, being that I hold the record right now for having the longest time in a Rumble match. These moments stick in my mind and heart. You always want to become better than you were yesterday.”
It appears that WWE is moving on from the Mysterio vs. Andrade feud as Andrade already has his next title defense booked.
Andrade will defend the United States Title against Humberto Carrillo at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.
Rey Mysterio was forced to unmask in WCW after losing a tag match along with Konnan to the Outsiders at SuperBrawl 9. Had Konnan and Rey Mysterio won, Miss Elizabeth would have lost her hair.
On a recent episode of his “Keepin it 100” podcast, Konnan discussed the angle, what led to it, and his opinion of Mysterio being unmasked in WCW.
“I thought it was stupid and not only that it wasn’t even Nash’s hair, it was Miss Elizabeth’s hair,” Konnan said on the show. “It was just stupid, bro.”
He would continue to talk about what led to Mysterio being unmasked.
“At the end of the day, I think Scott Hall had told them ‘hey, Rey Mysterio is a good looking guy what do you need a mask for?'”
Disco Inferno then chimed in on the subject.
“Eric usually acted on the last thing that he heard. You know, so whoever had Eric’s ear last, that’s what we would do.”
Konnan would continue to say it was a hotly debated issue backstage.
“We got into humungous fights about this. At the end it was more (Bischoff) was just kind of ‘well, f**k it. I decided we are going to do it and that’s all there is to it,” Konnan said.
Konnan’s comments can be heard in the player below:
Rey Mysterio is currently the United States champion on WWE RAW. He recently spoke to Sportskeeda about who he would like to face at WrestleMania 36 and other dream matches he would like to have someday.
“The roster is filled with top talent but I really think that the match we had leading into me becoming United States Champion against AJ Styles – I would love to do that on a big stage. AJ vs Rey Mysterio,” Mysterio said of his dream match for WrestleMania.
He also mentioned during the interview that he is hopeful his son Dominic will wrestle next year.
“I hope that we can all get the chance to see him in 2020, and I’m just as excited as the fans to see him step into the ring.”
Mysterio would also mention during the interview that he could happily retire peacefully after wrestling a tag-team match alongside his son.
“I most definitely would love to share the ring properly with him in a Tag Team Match or a 3 vs 3, but I definitely would love to potentially share the ring with him one day. I think, after that happens, I can retire peacefully.”
The full interview with Mysterio can be read here.
WWE RAW takes place from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa tonight. It will likely be a long night for fans in attendance as WWE will tape matches and segments for 2 episodes of RAW tonight. WWE will also be filming for next week’s episode of RAW scheduled for December 23rd, 2019.
WWE had at one point scheduled a second-set of RAW tapings in Des Moines for Tuesday but those plans have since changed.
The only match scheduled for tonight’s live airing of RAW is Randy Orton in single’s action taking on AJ Styles.
New US Title Design Coming?
New U.S. belt was delivered…. No idea what it looks like.
According to the @BeltFanDan Twitter account which is also associated with the custom championship belt making company Belts by Dan, a new design of the United States championship belt has been delivered to WWE. Could we see a new design shown off on RAW tonight by current champion Rey Mysterio?
The current design of the title has been in use since 2014.
Mysterio is currently in the 166th reign in the title’s history which dates back to 1975. 8 title changes have occurred in 2019 alone.
The main event of this week’s episode of Raw saw the United
States Champion Rey Mysterio competing in a 6 man tag match. However, latest
report reveals that he wasn’t originally slated to be competing during the
bout.
According to reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plans were for Randy Orton to team up with Humberto Carrillo and Ricochet to compete against the OC.
The idea was for Mysterio to interfere and help the faces in
picking up a win but Mr. McMahon wanted The Viper to deliver an RKO out of
nowhere to AJ Styles.
The Boss felt that Styles needed to be coming off a pin for
this to work so he changed the plans at the producers’ meetings on the day of
the event. This resulted in Orton deciding not to team with Ricochet and
Carrillo.
Ricochet ended up taking the pin in the match because the Boss did not want Mysterio to be in the position. Humberto was likely exempted because he has been losing most of his matches since debuting on the brand in October.
No word yet on where this storyline is headed but it’s likely that we’ll see a match between Randy Orton and AJ Styles soon, presumably at the upcoming TLC PPV.
It’s unsurprising to hear modern-day talent talk about being inspired by WWE Legend Rey Mysterio. Turns out that Mysterio holds just as much respect for his current contemporaries. He recently spoke about how they help push him to perform at a high level.
Speaking with WWE’s streaming show The Bump, the WWE United States Champion took a moment from receiving praise from Ricochet to share some appreciation for younger talent.
“I truly believe that the secret behind still being able to do it and perform at the level that I still perform at is to have people like Ricochet around you know,” Mysterio said. “Like Humberto Carrillo that push me, inspire me to keep doing it and to do it at the level. So I’m honored to have inspired you guys at one point in your career to be where you’re at now and now the inspiration comes from you guys towards me to be able to perform at the level that I do.”
The discussion eventually turned to Mysterio’s son Dominik. The Bump then played some footage when a young Dominik was involved in the on-screen rivalry between Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero. He commented on Dominik’s ability to convey emotion, recalling how he would just jump into it when needed.
Rey noted how his son has developed as a performer since then. He highlighted his recent involvement in the recent Brock Lesnar feud as an example of his growth.
Rey Mysterio has dethroned AJ Styles as the WWE United States Champion.
The future WWE Hall of Famer did so when he beat Styles to capture the secondary title on Monday Night RAW in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena on the USA Network.
The match was originally supposed to be Styles defending against Humberto Carrillo, but The OC attacked Humberto before the match. This led to a Fatal 4 Way Match being booked that saw Mysterio beat Randy Orton, Ricochet and Drew McIntyre to become the new #1 contender to the title.
WWE booked the championship contest right after the #1 contender’s match which is when Mysterio won the title.
Mysterio just lost to WWE Champion Brock Lesnar in a No DQ Match at the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena on the WWE Network this past Sunday night.
What are your thoughts on AJ Styles dropping the United States Title to Rey Mysterio? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.
This feud kicked off when Lesnar was involved in a program with former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez where Mysterio served as his manager.
After Lesnar had retained the WWE Title over Velasquez at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on Halloween in Saudi Arabia, Mysterio hit Lesnar several times with a chair. Throughout this rivalry, Lesnar attacked Mysterio’s son, Dominic.
Moving along to the November 4th episode of RAW, Lesnar hunted down Mysterio for the first hour of the show where he attacked backstage workers.
Lesnar hit an F-5 to Dio Maddin through the announce table after Maddin confronted Lesnar. This is when Mysterio ran out and hit Lesnar several times with a pipe and eventually connected with a shot with the WWE Championship belt to Lesnar that left him laying.
Mysterio cut a promo about how he wants Lesnar and to take what’s most important to Lesnar, the WWE Title. This is when he challenged Lesnar for the title at the show.
WWE has added a stipulation to the scheduled contest between WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Rey Mysterio at Survivor Series.
WWE had Paul Heyman cut a promo on Monday Night RAW where it was revealed that this match will be held under the No Holds Barred Match. This stipulation was added after Mysterio attacked Lesnar a few weeks ago with a pipe.
WWE presents the Survivor Series pay-per-view event on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena that will air on the WWE Network.

It turns out that Cain Velasquez won’t be teaming up with Rey Mysterio in his second WWE match.
WWE originally advertised the two stars for a tag team match at WWE’s upcoming live event from Mexico City, Mexico. The duo was supposed to face Drew McIntyre & Andrade (w/ Zelina Vega) on Saturday, November 30th.
That has changed as Mysterio will now team with Humberto Carrillo against Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. Velasquez is still advertised to appear but doesn’t have a match listed.
The news comes courtesy of the official WWE Español Twitter account, which released an updated lineup for the SuperShow on Wednesday. The WWE SuperShow from Mexico City takes place Arena Ciudad de Mexico.
The former UFC Heavyweight Champion no longer wrestling at the show could be due to him needing knee surgery. He lost his debut match under the WWE banner when he faced WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel.
Brock Lesnar will get what he wants which is Rey Mysterio.
WWE did an angle on Monday’s episode of RAW in Uniondale, New York where the WWE Champion hunted down Mysterio for the first hour of the show as he attacked backstage workers.
Lesnar alongside Paul Heyman made their way out to the announce team where Lesnar hit an F-5 to Dio Maddin through the announce table after Maddin confronted Lesnar.
This is when Mysterio ran out and hit Lesnar several times with a pipe and eventually connected with a shot with the WWE Championship belt to Lesnar that left him laying.
Mysterio would cut a promo about how he wants Lesnar and take what’s most important to “The Beast”. That would be the WWE Title. This is when he challenged Lesnar for the title at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view event.
Lesnar retained the WWE Title over Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel. Post-match, Mysterio hit Lesnar several times with a chair. Throughout this rivalry, Lesnar attacked Mysterio’s son, Dominick.
WWE presents the Survivor Series pay-per-view event on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in Rosemont, Illinois at the Allstate Arena that will air on the WWE Network.
What are your thoughts on this match being added to the card? Sound off in the comment section.
Rey Mysterio has revealed that his son, Dominick, will be training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida next year.
In an interview with Marca.com (translated from Spanish), Mysterio explained that his son has been learning new in-ring skills. He noted that his training at the PC will focus on learning WWE’s specific style.
“He’s coming along and learning as time passes. He’ll start next year to train at the Performance Center in Orlando to learn the company’s style and then we’ll see [what happens],” Mysterio said.
Mysterio continued, “He’s had more than two years to prepare and the truth is, he’s been learning pretty quickly. You can tell that it’s in his blood. I am loving being able to share the ring with him before I retire. I think he will enjoy it. He’s commented to me that he wants to continue the Mysterio dynasty.”
Dominick has been involved in a storyline between his father, the debuting Cain Velasquez, and the current WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. He has previously teased that he wants his debut match to be a tag team bout, where he gets to partner with his dad.
Mysterio has previously trademarked the name ‘Principe Mysterio‘ which translates to Prince Mysterio. If Dominick does continue the Mysterio tradition, it seems that it may be under that name.
Cain Velasquez and Rey Mysterio’s opponents have been announced for WWE’s upcoming live event from Mexico City, Mexico.
The duo will face Drew McIntyre & Andrade (w/ Zelina Vega) on Saturday, November 30th. The news comes courtesy of the official WWE Español Twitter account, which released an updated lineup for the SuperShow on Monday.
The 11/30 WWE SuperShow from Mexico City takes place Arena Ciudad de Mexico, the same arena where Velasquez made his pro wrestling debut at Triplemania XXVII in August.
This will mark Velasquez’s second match under the WWE banner. Velasquez makes his WWE in-ring debut when he challenges Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on October 31, 2019.
While reports suggested that WWE was planting the seeds for
Cain Velasquez’s debut, nobody expected it to happen as soon as this week’s
episode of SmackDown Live.
The main event of this week’s episode of SmackDown which was
the show’s premiere episode on Fox Network saw Brock Lesnar challenging Kofi
Kingston for his WWE title.
The match didn’t last for very long and the Beast ended Kofi’s long reign to became the new WWE Champion after delivering just one F5 to the New Day member.
The action however didn’t stop there as the music of Rey
Mysterio was heard soon after Lesnar was handed the belt and Mysterio then made
his way to the ring.
Though Rey did not come alone and he brought the former UFC Champion Cain Velasquez with him, to take revenge for the beating Lesnar delivered to him and his son Dominick on Raw this past Monday night.
Velasquez went on to attack the new WWE Champion and the
segment ended with the Beast Incarnate retreating while Cain stood tall in the
ring.
Both Rey Mysterio and Cain Velasquez were interviewed backstage after the show was over and when asked about his attack on Lesnar, Velasquez said that he is here to get some payback:
It’s evident after this week’s SmackDown that WWE is
building towards a Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar match but we will have to
wait and see when it actually takes place.
Seth Rollins is still the WWE Universal Champion but things didn’t go as originally planned for him thanks to Brock Lesnar.
WWE held the RAW Season Premiere episode on Monday night from Phoenix, Arizona at the Talking Stick Resort Arena. This is where Rollins was supposed to defend his title against Rey Mysterio in a high priority match on the flagship show of the company.
In the opening segment, Mysterio was cutting a promo when Lesnar appeared and hit a series of F5’s. He would then attack Mysterio’s son, Dominick.
The company set this matchup between Mysterio and Rollins on last week’s show when a Fatal 5-Way Match to determine who would be next in line for a championship match took place.
Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, WWE US Champion AJ Styles, WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, and WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Robert Roode competed in the contest.
As seen on the show, Mysterio ended up winning it. As a result, Mysterio had earned the right to challenge Rollins for the WWE Universal Title
The WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Sacramento, California at the Golden 1 Center.
There is a new #1 contender to the WWE Universal Title held by Seth Rollins and that’s Rey Mysterio.
During Monday’s episode of RAW in San Francisco, California at the Chase Center, the company held a Fatal 5-Way Match to determine who would be next in line for a championship match.
As a result, Mysterio has earned the right to challenge Rollins for the WWE Universal Title on next week’s episode of RAW.
WWE is hyping this as the season premiere of RAW. It takes place in and will serve as the go-home show for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event.
WWE booking a match involving the top title on RAW brand comes at an interesting time as it takes place less than a week before the Hell in a Cell show.
Especially due to the fact that WWE has already announced Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt in a HIAC match at the pay-per-view.
The reported reason for booking a title match on this RAW episode is due to the hope of increasing ratings.
WWE continues to announce things for the next episode of their flagship show, Monday Night RAW, including a match for Rey Mysterio.
On Friday, WWE’s official website released the official preview article for this show, which is loaded, where it was revealed that the legendary prow wrestler would take on fellow luchador Gran Metalik of Lucha House Party in one-on-one combat.
This match comes three weeks after Mysterio teased his retirement from pro wrestling until his son Dominick pulled him from the brink of walking away from the industry that made him a household name.
WWE holds Monday’s episode of RAW in at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The company has already announced a Triple Threat Match that will see Baron Corbin vs. Ricochet vs. Samoa Joe with the winner to advance to the finals of King of the Ring tournament for this show.
Also, a contract signing between WWE RAW Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman for their Universal Title match at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view event is on tap. WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin will be moderating the segment.
Rollins vs. Corbin and RAW Women’s Becky Lynch vs. Lacey Evans are advertised as the dark matches for the live crowd in attendance.
Rey Mysterio appeared on RAW last week, starting a new storyline that may result in his son, Dominick, debuting for WWE. After appearing in a segment teasing his retirement, Dominick appeared and reminded his dad how he had promised to be his tag team partner for his professional wrestling debut.
Despite starting this narrative, Mysterio was missing from this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Turns out it was because the legendary luchador was undergoing another round of stem cell treatment.
Mysterio updated his fans via his Instagram account, uploading a picture of himself, still masked, of course, explaining the procedure. The injections have apparently helped to alleviate his knee issues, helping him to move better compared to a few years ago.
“I had an Intrathecal Stem Cell application yesterday by Dr. Halpert & have to admit that I could not have been in better hands despite the size of the needle ? that was never showed to me until after the procedure! #LoveTheBioXStaff @bioxcellerator_ is giving me & those who have been here a healthier & better way of living!??…??? Need info ….. talk to my homie @iowahawksfan06″
Once Rey Mysterio returns, it is believed that Dominick will eventually take up the moniker of “Prinicpe Mysterio”—a name that Rey Mysterio trademarked earlier this year.
WWE has announced that after his segment with son Dominick
on last week’s Raw, Rey Mysterio will be returning to next week’s episode of
the show from Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
Last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw saw Rey in a backstage segment. He appeared to be ready to announce his retirement from in-ring competition after losing a 2 out of 3 falls match to Andrade during the August 12th episode of the show.
However, his son Dominick interfered before Mysterio could announce his retirement. Dominick reminded the former World Champion about his promise to have a tag team match on his debut and successfully persuaded him into continuing his career.
Cedric Alexander On His Recent Success
Cedric Alexander has been enjoying some success in the past
few weeks. He has been in the spotlight for his performance and also won a
couple of important matches in the past 2 weeks.
After his win on this week’s episode of Raw, Alexander was asked about his journey from the second-round loss in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament to his current position on Raw. Replying to it he said that the CWC tournament was where he made his name:
Cedric Alexander defeated Sami Zayn in the first round of the King Of The Ring tournament last week. After defeating Drew McIntyre on this week’s episode of Raw, he is now scheduled to face Baron Corbin in the quarterfinals of the tournament next week.
WWE is reported to have interested in Rey Mysterio’s son Dominic possibly wrestling for the promotion.
Gutierrez has trained with Lance Storm amongst others and was previously involved in some angles back in 2005 involving his father and Eddie Guerrero. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, WWE is hoping Dominic will be ready for an in-ring debut by next year.
“Regarding Dominick Gutierrez, who was on television as part of the Rey vs. Joe angle, (WWE) want him to wrestle and this Mysterio angle may play a part in this,” wrote Dave Meltzer. “Right now the feeling is he’s not ready for in-ring on this stage, but the hope is he’ll be ready in 2020.”
14 years ago, Dominic was a key figure in a major WWE storyline involving his father and Eddie Guerrero. During the course of the angle, it was revealed that Eddie Guerrero is actually Dominic’s bilogical father.
Rey Mysterio Comments on Relationship With Vince McMahon
During an appearance on the WINCLY podcast, Mysterio had this to say regarding his relationship with Vince McMahon.
“My relationship with Vince has always been great and it’s built to where it’s at right now. I was intimidated by Vince at first because I knew it was going to be hard to get the opportunity to perform at that level. When the belief was there, I put in all my effort to give the best,” he said.
Rey Mysterio issued an open challenge last week on RAW. It was accepted by Bobby Lashley who then promptly defeated Mysterio in under a minute. It was Mysterio’s first match back since having to vacate the United States championship due to injury in May.
Mysterio’s performance on RAW was addressed recently by Konnan on his “Keepin it 100” podcast.
“What was the use of bringing Rey back for that?” Konnan asked on the show. This led to Disco Inferno making several befuddled statements before Konnan spoke again.
“Not only that, you have a million guys that you could have done that with and gotten the same effect,” Konnan continued. “Why are you sacrificing (Rey) when he could actually be making somebody?”
Disco then mentioned that Rey and Andrade are two wrestlers WWE should be promoting.
Konnan was then asked if Rey has “heat” in the company and that is why he lost in such fashion on RAW.
“No. You know Rey, he’s probably one of the most decent guys you could ever meet in your life,” Konnan answered when asked if Rey has heat. “This is par course for them, they always do stupid s**t that makes you wonder what the f**k is going on over there.”
The full podcast is available below. Konnan’s comments about Rey begin around 17 minutes in.
As expected, former WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio made his big return on WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night RAW.
He did so on Monday’s episode in Newark, NJ at the Prudential Arena. As seen on the show, Mysterio issued an open challenge, which was answered by Bobby Lashley, who went over in the match. After the match, Lashley beat down the legendary pro wrestler.
Mysterio was last seen on WWE television in May when he was forced to vacate the United States Title, which was awarded to Samoa Joe. The reason that the title was vacated was due to Mysterio suffering an injury during his match against Samoa Joe.
This is where he won the title at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view event in Hartford, CT. It was a memorable night for the future WWE Hall of Famer as he became a Grand Slam Champion.
Shortly thereafter, Mysterio commented on the injury that he suffered at the end of the match where he noted that he separated an acromioclavicular joint in his shoulder. Before he was injured, he was feuding with Joe that also included a match at WrestleMania 35.
