News On Hulk Hogan & Ric Flair Receiving Offers To Wrestle Again

WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair claim to have wrestled their last matches, but both men have received lucrative offers to wrestle again in recent weeks.

A Mexican group called Llaves y Candados which is backed by one of the biggest television networks in Mexico, met with TNA officials and Hulk Hogan at the 11/29 Impact tapings in Orlando. Roberto Figueroa made a huge offer to Hulk Hogan to wrestle one show in Mexico, but he reportedly turned them down. Money wasn’t the issue – Hogan simply can’t go anymore. Even the idea of a gimmicked match where a Mexican wrestler ran into his punches and bumped around for him was rejected, which speaks volumes about his physical condition.

Ric Flair has received a big offer to work with an international promotion, despite his claims that he’s retired. The belief is that Flair would wrestle again if the money was right, but he’ll probably wind up back in WWE and they’ve made it clear he won’t be wrestling in a WWE ring again.

Ric Flair’s Attorney Responds To Wife’s Claims, Hogan Loses In Court Again

– Hulk Hogan’s latest legal efforts to get clips of his sex tape taken offline were shot down on Monday, when a judge ruled that Gawker.com does not have to remove the footage. Judge James D. Whittemore ruled on Monday that Hogan’s latest legal filing offered nothing new from his prior (unsuccessful) attempt to get the video offline.

The judge also stated that Hogan had not demonstrated that there were any grounds for an appeal and there was no proof of “immediate harm.”

– Earlier today, TMZ.com broke the news that Ric Flair’s fourth wife, Jacqueline, has filed for divorce, claiming Flair cheated on her with multiple women and owes her tens of thousands of dollars as a result of their recent separation agreement.

Ric Flair’s Wife Files For Legal Separation, Alleges He Cheated With Numerous Women & Owes Her Big Money

Ric Flair’s fourth wife, Jacqueline, has officially filed for a legal separation from the wrestling legend in Mecklenberg County, North Carolina.

She has accused him of “acts of illicit sexual behavior” and cheated on her regularly throughout their marriage. The legal documents obtained by TMZ.com explain, “Husband has had numerous intimate relationships with other women during the parties’ marriage, to the embarrassment and humiliation of wife.”

She maintains that she was “faithful and dutiful wife” ever since they got married back in 2009.

Not only was Ric Flair allegedly cheating on her with numerous other women, but she claims he’s also screwing her out of tens of thousands of dollars in spousal support. They apparently reached an agreement to separate back in October, with Flair agreeing to pay her $15,000 to cover her legal fees, $4,000 per month in spousal support and $14k in back payments from the time they actually split in July.

She claims Flair owes her over $35,000 in back payments and has not paid her a dime so far. She says Flair should have no problem paying her in full, because he makes more than a $1 million a year.

So far, no comments from Flair’s camp.

Backstage News On AJ Lee Being Removed As RAW GM & What’s Next

On Monday’s WWE RAW, we saw Vince McMahon relieve AJ Lee from her duties as the General Manager of RAW. The idea of AJ Lee being removed as RAW GM was scripted months ago, as far back as late August.

At the time, Ric Flair was to be brought in as the new authority figure. With next Monday’s RAW taking place from Charlotte, North Carolina, there’s more speculation that Flair’s return is imminent. However, just a few days ago, people in WWE were under the impression that WWE won’t touch Flair until they were certain it would not hurt their case on the ongoing TNA vs. WWE lawsuit.

WWE is being so careful about not playing into TNA’s argument that “WWE is tampering with TNA talent” that they won’t even let Jerry Brisco visit his son Wes in Orlando because it could be seen as ‘a WWE executive meeting with a TNA contracted wrestler.’

While Flair will be joining WWE as soon as the coast is clear, some people in WWE have been surprised that Vince McMahon is being so cautious about the situation, when the old Vince would not be intimidated by anybody and would have done whatever he wanted.

WWE Reportedly Steering Clear Of All Recent TNA Talent

Don’t expect the likes of Alex Shelley, Velvet Sky, Devon, Angelina Love or even Hall of Famer Ric Flair to pop up in a WWE ring anytime soon. According to Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, Vince McMahon’s company is steering clear of any and all recently affiliated TNA Wrestling talent while the two grappling organizations do battle in court.

On May 23, 2012, TNA Entertainment, LLC. filed a lawsuit in Nashville, Tennessee against World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. and Brian Wittenstein, a former office worker for both organizations. TNA accused WWE of obtaining secret contract information in an attempt to poach their talent in violation of Tennessee’s Uniform Trade Secrets Act.

Wittenstein, who worked for TNA Wrestling for three years, was terminated on August 3, 2011. At that time, he entered into a Separation Agreement and General Release, preventing him from disclosing certain confidential TNA information. TNA alleges that Wittenstein violated the agreement by downloading confidential TNA trade secrets and providing that information to WWE after joining the organization months later. Although WWE fired Wittenstein and alerted TNA officials as to the disclosure of the information, TNA claims WWE waited three weeks to notify them and has used the confidential information, including data regarding wrestler compensation, to recruit contracted TNA talent to work for WWE. Wittenstein’s contract with TNA had specifically ordered that he not share confidential information about the organization after his employment ceased.

Matt Morgan, who had teased joining WWE since concluding his contractual obligations to TNA in June, resurfaced at Saturday’s house show in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dressed in street clothes, Morgan entered the ring through the crowd and laid out Robbie E. Meltzer wrote on the F4WOnline.com message board regarding Morgan’s apparently renewed partnership with TNA, “I guess that tells you about that TNA lawsuit now since they didn’t take Morgan.”

It has also been speculated that Alex Shelley and Ric Flair could wind up in WWE now that both individuals are free agents. Meltzer, however, reveals that the organization is not negotiating with either talent despite being legally able to.

“Nobody is talking about Shelley and they won’t even officially talk to Flair even though his non-compete is up,” he wrote.

Following the lawsuit filing, it was reported that TNA was looking to cut costs by restructuring talent contracts when they expired. This ploy appears to have led to the respective departures of Devon and Velvet Sky since both talents reportedly left the organization due to their financial terms not being reached on new deals.

With the following day being a holiday (January 1st, New Year’s Day), there’s also a possibility WWE will hold a live SmackDown show that Friday (1/4) instead of the usual Tuesday taping.

– On Tuesday night, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair appeared on CNN Headline News to talk about Jerry Lawler’s heart attack. Flair said despite Lawler being 62 years old, Laweler is still more than qualified to wrestle because of his experience in the ring.

Here’s video from Flair’s appearance:

– Bill Goldberg is denying online reports that he’s signed a WWE Legends contract. WWE will be releasing a “Best Of” DVD set for Goldberg next June, which might have started the speculation.

– WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair appeared on CNN Headline News on Tuesday night to talk about Jerry Lawler’s medical emergency from Monday’s RAW. Flair says despite Lawler being 62 years old, Flair said he’s still more than qualified to wrestle because of his experience in the ring.

Ric Flair’s Status & When He Can Go To WWE, Why Laurinaitis Isn’t Wrestling

– WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair will be free from his TNA no-compete clause and free to sign with WWE on September 10th. While it’s not a sure thing that Flair will be returning to WWE as soon as he’s legally able to (due to the TNA vs. WWE lawsuit), one storyline proposed for Flair would be to pair him with Dolph Ziggler as a mentor/manager.

Flair is currently in the midst of a divorce from his wife Jacqueline Beems, his 4th time down that road.

– Th reason John Laurinaitis has been pulled from wrestling dark matches after WWE television shows is because he is currently injured. Despite the fact that he was removed as WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent Relations back in June, Laurinaitis is expected to return as a television character in the coming months.

The Great Muta Pitches Tag Match With Ric Flair, Booker T Addresses Infamous Promo

– Keiji Muto (a/k/a The Great Muta) pitched a tag team match with Ric Flair as his partner on All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Sept. 23 show, but both sides couldn’t come to financial terms, The most All Japan was willing to offer Flair for the match was $15,000.

– TMZ chatted with wrestler Booker T regarding the “GREATEST VIDEO IN THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNET!” This is in reference to T getting carried away during a televised interview on the June 24, 1996 episode of WCW Monday Nitro, calling out Lex Luger as well as Hulk Hogan, claiming “Hulk Hogan, we comin’ for you, n***a!”

People can vote on whether they like the proposal, which accounts for about 30% of the decision-making process whether they are selected or not. Click here for additional details.

Christian Appearing For TNA Again, Update On Ric Flair’s Status With TNA-WWE

– WWE Superstar Christian is scheduled appear for TNA Wrestling once again later this year at Bound For Glory to induct Sting into the TNA Hall of Fame. Christian appearing on a second TNA PPV this year is part of WWE’s agreement with TNA to allow Ric Flair to appear at WWE’s Hall of Fame earlier this year.

TNA was pushing for Ric Flair to be the person to induct Sting, but Flair’s recent issues with TNA and TNA’s ongoing lawsuit with WWE will likely prevent that from happening.

– As for Ric Flair’s status with TNA, his 4-month no-compete clause is up on September 6h. At that time, he’ll technically be free to work for other wrestling promotions. That said, the ongoing TNA-WWE lawsuit might keep Flair out of WWE for a few more months. WWE stated in court that they had no interest in any employees currently or recently under TNA contract – and signing Flair immediately would conflict with that position.

Matt Hardy Interview: His First WWE Run, Who Looked Out For Him

Raj Giri of WrestlingINC.com recently interviewed former WWE and TNA superstar Matt Hardy. In part one of the interview (view here), Hardy discussed his time an an enhancement talent for WWE, his favorite stars growing up, working with the Kliq, tag team wrestling today and much more. here are some highlights of what Hardy said about:

His Favorite Wrestlers Growing Up: “Obviously, ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage just because he was the first guy I was really drawn to and I think he was one of the top guys in the company at the time and his finishing move was a flying elbow drop off the top rope. For me, I thought it was really cool. A lot of guys did moves that seemed more boring. There was the Hulk Hogan leg drop. ‘Macho Man’ always flew off the top to do his elbow drop and it was very exciting.”

“Obviously, growing up in North Carolina, I was a big Ric Flair fan. I dug him, he was from Charlotte. The Four Horsemen were very cool. I was a big fan of the Freebirds as well. It was very ironic that later on, I’d work with Michael Hayes. When I first started wrestling and Jeff and I were on a trampoline, I actually emulated Michael Hayes and the Freebirds to a degree with the way my character wrestled, dressed and acted and whatnot.”

What It Was Like Being WWE Enhancement Talent: “It was exciting. We actually went the very first time with ‘The Italian Stallion’ Gary Sabaugh and we did shows for him all across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee. We’d work Thursday, Friday, Saturday and sometimes for free. But, as long as we would work all his shows, he would take us to WWE every few months when he got the opportunity to. So, we were really excited. The first time walking in the dressing room and just seeing the guys you’ve grown up watching on TV. They’re real human beings and they’re interacting. Actually, getting to see that every superstar was actually a human being was a pretty amazing feeling.”

Whether Anybody Gave Him Advice Early In His Career:

Hardy: There wasn’t really anyone that gave us an overload of advice. But the one thing I will say, the first time me and Jeff went up, we both wrestled Scott Hall/Razor Ramon and he was really good to both of us. The first night, he wrestled Jeff and Jeff was only 16. He had to lie about his age and move his birthday back by two years and he kind of banged Jeff’s knee on the pole when he was doing a certain move in the match. He checked on him the next day and the day after that. All the Kliq guys, especially Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were really cool to Jeff and I in the beginning. Jeff has his hair cut like Vanilla Ice, they actually called him Ice. They always knew the Hardy Boyz and the Ice guy. So, they were really cool to us overall. You hear a lot of horror stories about those guys, but Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and X-Pac were all really good to us early on.

Favorite Memories Of His First WWE Run: “Man, it’s really amazing that we were able to come in during that time. Once again, looking back, ‘Stone Cold’ was white hot. The Rock was white hot. DX was a huge deal. For Jeff and I, once we got out on the road full time, we were wrestling Too Cool/Too Much every night as the opening match. For us, we almost became accustomed to it. Every night, we were in a building that was sold out with 20,000 people. That was pretty amazing, pretty special. I think we were almost spoiled a little bit because in 2001-2002 when the business slowed down a little bit and the big, hot Attitude cycle ended and the shows weren’t sold out anymore, we were like, ‘Oh, my God. What is this? We’ve never seen this before. This is new to us.’ So, we were really lucky and really gifted to be there.

I mean, there were so many great memories between the ‘Stone Cold’-McMahon thing. Just for us, obviously, our feud with Edge and Christian and going through with the first ever tag team ladder match and having that and the TLC matches. Winning the tag team titles, which was our only goal that we really set for ourselves when we started in the business. There were so many great, monumental moments that there’s too many of them to list now. But, it was a really special time in the wrestling business.”
