RIPTIDE Wrestling Deep Six 2019 (02/15) Full Card feat. Ring of Honor and NXT UK Superstars

UK based promotion RIPTIDE Wrestling will be presenting their Deep Six 2019 event tonight. The spiritual home of RIPTIDE; The Brighthelm Centre in Brighton will be hosting the event later this evening.

The main event will see Chuck Mambo defending his Brighton Championship against Mark Haskins. Haskins recently signed for Ring of Honor but has been appearing on the UK independent scene for companies such as PROGRESS and RIPTIDE.

NXT UK Superstar Candyfloss will also be in action. The young star will be taking on TK Cooper in an intergender bout. This is interesting as it was believed that NXT UK Superstars could not work intergender bouts. This could be a sign that Candyfloss has left the WWE brand or it could mean that lower card talent have varying contracts to the upper tier Superstars such as Rhea Ripley and Toni Storm. Storm in particular still performs on the UK independent scene and will be facing Kay Lee Ray at ICW’s upcoming Square Go event for the ICW Women’s Championship.

  • Riptide Brighton Championship Match Chuck Mambo (c) vs. Mark Haskins (w/Vicky Haskins)
  • Chakara & Paul Robinson vs. Martina & Rocky Mac
  • Ashmore vs. Cara Noir
  • CandyFloss vs. TK Cooper
  • Damon Moser vs. Jack Sexsmith
  • Spike Trivet vs. Wild Boar
  • Jordon Breaks vs. Kurtis Chapman

RIPTIDE Announce Brighton Championship Match feat. NXT UK Superstar

RIPTIDE Wrestling has announced Chuck Mambo’s first Brighton Championship defence. Mambo will be heading to RIPTIDE’s ‘Black Water’ event this Friday to face NXT UK Superstar Eddie Dennis.

Dennis has been one of the highlights of the UK scene over the past year. Since ending his career as a school headteacher Dennis has moved from strength to strength, culminating in an incredible bout against Mark Andrews for PROGRESS’ Wembley Arena event back in September. Huge appearances for the likes of ATTACK and his featured promo slots on NXT UK have put Dennis on the map in the United Kingdom.

Mambo also has excellent momentum during a stellar 2018. The Brighton Champion also appeared for PROGRESS at Wembley Arena and won the pre-show Battle Royal, eliminating Spike Trivet. Mambo won the Brighton Championship back in August at the Brighton Championship Tournament. Interestingly Mambo actually defeated Spike Trivet at the event to become the inaugural champion. Fans swarmed the ring following the match and actually crushed it under their weight.

Other matches confirmed for the show this Friday include Kris Wolf vs. Kurtis Chapman, Cara Noir vs. Mike Bailey, Chris Brookes vs. David Starr, Gideon Grey vs. Jordon Breaks and Aussie Open appearing in an open challenge.

UK Children’s TV Star Heading to RIPTIDE Wrestling

This is possibly the most surreal news I have had to post on this website since reporting on the UK scene.

Popular 90’s Children’s Television personality Dave Benson Phillips will be heading to RIPTIDE Wrestling on August 3rd as part of the Brighton Championship Tournament weekend. Benson Phillips will NOT be challenging for any title but instead teaming with ‘Session’ Moth Martina to challenge the Anti-Fun Police (Los Federales and No Fun Dunne).

Dave Benson Phillips is probably most well known to fans in the UK as the presenter of the BBC game show Get Your Own Back. The show ran between 1991 – 2003 and was a big hit featuring people getting ‘gunged’ on a frequent basis. More recently Benson Phillips was the victim of a death hoax claiming that he had passed in a car accident in 2009.

Tickets for the Brighton Championship Tournament Weekend are available to purchase via RIPTIDE’s Official website.

WWE Linked Star Announced for RIPTIDE ‘International Waters’

UK based promotion RIPTIDE Wrestling has announced a huge David vs Goliath battle for their ‘International Waters’ event that takes place Friday July 6th from the Brighthelm Centre Auditorium in Brighton, England.

‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey will be facing former PROGRESS ATLAS and wXw Unified Heavyweight Champion WALTER. You may have seen WALTER’s name appear sporadically in the news recently, he has been heavily linked with a move to WWE/NXT in the near future alongside fellow independent star Keith Lee. Whilst Lee has reportedly signed a deal WALTER has continuously denied the rumours. If WALTER does indeed make his way to NXT he will be joining his former wXw colleague and Ringkampf stablemate Axel Dieter Jr.

Only one other match has been confirmed for ‘International Waters,’ CCK leader and former PROGRESS Tag Team Champion Chris Brookes will be taking on Naoki Tanizaki in what is sure to be a stellar technical affair.

Brookes vs Tanizaki Announced for RIPTIDE ‘International Waters’ 07/06

UK based promotion RIPTIDE has announced the main event for their upcoming ‘International Waters’ event on July 6th from Brighton, England.

Leader of CCK (#CCK) Chris Brookes will be taking on Naoki Tanizaki, this will be Tanizaki’s debut match for the upstart UK company who continue to make waves on the hotly contested British scene.

Tanizaki is most known for this time as part of the Japanese Dragon Gate promotion, he has held the Open The Brave Gate Championship on one occasion (other notable Champions of the title include Matt Sydal, CIMA, WWE’s Neville, Ricochet, Akira Tozawa, Flamita and Dragon Kid) and the Open the Triangle Gate Championship (Trios Championship) Six times.

Chris Brookes is one of the most in demand stars on the UK circuit right now, his hugely successful run alongside Kid Lykos in #CCK has seen him catapulted into the ranks of PROGRESS wrestling’s main event scene and he is tipped as one of the favourites to win the Super Strong Style 16 tournament this weekend. Since Lyko’s most recent injury Brookes has once again been establishing himself as a legitimate singles star and this main event will only help build his profile as one of the nation’s best.

Welcome to a new weekly post here on SEScoops. We’ve been covering the booming scene in the United Kingdom for the past year and now we’re looking to extend that coverage, starting with our weekly look at some of the best wrestling to emerge from the British Isles.

Our first featured match comes from the relatively new promotion RIPTIDE Wrestling and it features two of the finest independent wrestlers on the scene currently; Travis Banks and ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey. The match took place as part of RIPTIDE’s ‘Deep Six’ event back on February 2nd and the company has now released the footage for free on YouTube.
