WWE NXT Star Revives Former TNA Persona For Comedy Sketch

WWE NXT personality Mr. Stone dusted off his old Jersey Shore-inspired Robbie E persona in a humorous skit released on social media.

The video portrays Mr. Stone arriving at Full Sail University, the venue for recent TNA iMPACT tapings, accompanied by his children. Intent on reconnecting with his TNA roots, Stone faces an unexpected hurdle when security denies him entry. In a comedic twist, he channels Robbie E to gain access.

Despite his enthusiastic transformation, Stone’s efforts are thwarted. He receives a video message from his former tag team partner, Rob Terry, who revokes Stone’s TNA VIP status. It culminates with Stone awakening from what is revealed to be a dream.

This playful homage not only showcases Mr. Stone’s versatility and willingness to engage with his wrestling history but also highlights the collaborative spirit fostered by the WWE-TNA partnership.

As WWE gives its talent more latitude to explore creatively, everybody wins. The talent gains additional outlets to develop their characters and reach a broader audience, while the fans get more content to enjoy.

For some background on these stars, Bloom is the son of former WWE Superstar Wayne Bloom. He wrestled as “Beau Beverly.”

Former Impact Wrestling Stars Attend WWE Tryouts

There were two former Impact Wrestling stars who attended WWE tryouts on Thursday.

The sports entertainment company holds tryouts throughout the year at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida to have wrestlers run drills that could determine who they may want to potentially sign to a developmental deal and place in the NXT system where they would compete on the third brand.

Those former Impact talents are Laurel Van Ness and Robbie E.

Van Ness, real name Chelsea Green, departed from the promotion after a set of Impact tapings in Ottawa, Canada in January. Green signed with the promotion back in June of 2016 where she would go onto having a successful run including being the Knockouts Champion.

Green does have a bit history with the WWE as she was part of the 2015 re-launch of Tough Enough where she finished up placing fourth place for the females and is currently dating Zack Ryder.

Robbie E had a successful run with Impact as he is a former Tag Team, X-Division and Television Champion. He signed with Impact back in 2010 and departed in 2017.

Robbie E Talks Former TNA Stars Becoming Mega-Stars In WWE, If He’d Work With WWE In The Future

Global Force Wrestling (GFW) star Robbie E recently did an interview with Wrestling Inc. to talk about a variety of professional wrestling topics. E discussed how some stars from GFW’s past have gone on to make huge names for themselves in WWE, and if he’d ever consider working with WWE in the future. You can see the highlights here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5Gju2cAKVg&feature=youtu.be

Former TNA stars making names for themselves in WWE:

“It’s not only three awesome wrestlers because they are so talented, it’s also cool because there was a time when everyone said that if you were in TNA you would be there for life and that there is no where else to go, but it shows that there is,” he said. “This goes to show how awesome Jeff Jarrett is because he helped brand them. Believe me, Jeff helped them develop their platform on Spike TV at the time and become such bigger stars it’s awesome and am so happy for them. All three are great guys. When I first started on the road with TNA, me and Bobby Roode travelled everywhere together so I learned so much from him. I’m super happy for him.”

If he’d like to work with WWE:

“It’s Pro Wrestling, anything can happen,” he said. “I may end up fighting (Conor) McGregor. Maybe my wife will give me permission to go on the Bachelor just because I like the show so much.”

Robbie E Explains Backstage Changes In GFW

Global Force Wrestling (GFW) star Robbie E recently spoke to Wrestling Inc. to discuss his status with the promotion. E discussed being off GFW TV for so long, the backstage changes made by the promotion, and his ‘Dad Bod’ feature for “Muscle And Fitness.” You can see what he had to say here:

His current status with GFW:

“I’m still a part of the company; I think when Jeff [Jarrett] took over, and Jeff is the man and has a lot on his plate right now,” Robbie said. “I think the number one thing he wanted to do when he restarted it was to revamp the GFW roster and give it a whole new look. To do so, you would have to take some people off of TV that have been there a while to make the product look different, so I’m not the only guy. There are a few of us that are still lingering to make our return.”

Having been off TV for so long:

“The cool thing is, like we talked about, with the seven years that I have been there holding the titles, where I’ve been looked at as a comedy guy where I hadn’t been taken seriously; so, this is my chance to start over in a more serious role and be a new Robbie E, so I believe it’s going to be better for everyone involved so I believe it is a good thing,” he said.

Backstage changes that have occurred in the company:

“If someone is going to come in there is going to be massive changes that are going to be made. People are thinking how there are massive changes happening all the time and they are getting sick of it, but I think this will be the last time changes will happen,” he said. “And now they have a direction of where they are going with it and I believe they will continue to go with it, so there won’t be as many changes going forward because I believe they are set on what they want their future to be.

“And again, Jeff Jarrett is the man, he’s been in wrestling for like 100 years; he is super smart, and he is the guy who was with the company when it was on fire and I think he is going to get it back there.”

His new ‘Dad Bod’ feature for “Muscle And Fitness”:

“The thing is, the ‘Dad Bod’ is a real thing. People I know who were somewhat in decent shape, once they become a Dad it all goes down the drain. You know what I mean? Everyone knows someone like that. Before they were a Dad they looked one way, and after they become a Dad they look another way,” he said.

“It happens; so, these videos are just ways to show what you can do to stay fit and your kids are having a good time while you are doing it. Even if you are not a Dad, they are still funny videos to watch, because you know me, everything I do is funny, so it’s a win-win for anyone who clicks and watches it.”

Robbie E. On People Who Claim TNA Is Going Out Of Business, The BroMans Split & More

Robbie E. recently spoke with The Inquisitr about being in TNA for five years, splitting up The BroMans tag-team, his stint on the reality show The Amazing Race and more. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On working For TNA:

“They’re the company that pays my bills and the company that got me national and worldwide exposure. In my opinion, still currently, we have some of the greatest wrestlers in the world, the greatest talent in the world and so being able to work with those guys is a plus. There’s really not a negative thing about it.”

On The BroMans splitting up:

“Now that the BroMans have split up, me and Jessie Godderz have split up, I am getting more of a chance to showcase a little bit more. These past few weeks on IMPACT, I beat Eddie Edwards and had a big match with Matt Hardy where I was close to beating him and I think fans are now are seeing a different side of me l where they’re actually like ‘holy s**t, he can wrestle?’ It’s like ‘duh…yeah….I’ve been doing this for 15 years, I know how to wrestle.'”

On rumors of TNA going out of business:

“People read things or say stupid things but they don’t know what they’re talking about. TNA hasn’t been around for 14 or 15 years, whatever it’s been around for nothing. It’s a long-lasting company and I think it’s not going anywhere.”

Robbie E Interview With Vince Russo: Talks Jersey Shore Gimmick, Focusing On His Character, TNA

Vince Russo hosted his podcast “The Swerve” from England via www.pyroandballyhoo.com. Robbie E of TNA and The Amazing Race was the special guest this week, and the highlights are below (audio audio available here):

Robbie spending 10 years on the indy scene before being discovered:

“I started wrestling at 16 and signed with TNA at 26. 10 years. I went through college. There wasn’t a moment when I slowed down. 2-3 shows a week. I did some WWE extra work: jobber matches, dark matches, tryouts, developmental systems. There were a lot of times where I was led on to believe I was going to sign a contract but it never happened…Other guys my size were getting signed. During that time, I was 160 lbs and I was very young when I was trying out, so I guess it wasn’t the right place or the right time.”

Robbie on starting with the Jersey Shore character:

“I wasn’t doing it period. I wasn’t doing it until you told me to spike my hair up. I never did a character until that afternoon. Never did one remotely related to Jersey Shore. I zero never remotely liked Jersey Shore; granted my real life was kind of like Jersey Shore probably. Wrestling character: I never had my hair up, never fist-pumped, nothing.”

Robbie on younger wrestlers not focusing on character as much:

“They forget the wrestling they watched when they were a kid. I don’t get why they do that. Everyone when they were younger had characters that were larger than life and polka dot shorts. I don’t know why people forget about that. Polka dot shorts is normal. It’s pro wrestling.”

Robbie on teaming up with Zema:

“Zema was an X-Division guy that did a lot of that stuff. Now that he’s our DJ, doesn’t wrestle as much and has more character, he said the last year of his life has been the best year of his life, in wrestling. He’s having the time of his life, appreciating it more so much and loving it so much more – being full character, goofing off as opposed to having an X-Division match and remembering so many things, getting knocked out.”

Listen to or watch the full podcast and interview where Robbie E talks a lot more about “Character vs. Wrestling”, teaming with Zema and Jessie, his TNA contract status, and much more.

During the free podcast this week, Russo also talks about Macho Man Randy Savage going into the WWE Hall of Fame this year and whether Hogan inducting him is a genuine gesture on Hogan’s part or the biggest rib in wrestling history.

The bonus video shoot interview with Robbie E, exclusively for the VIP section, has Russo questioning Robbie about The Amazing Race, how Robbie picked up Brooke Adams, why they broke up, and more. Brooke Tessmacher Says She And Robbie E. Have Broken Up In Real Life

TNA Knockout Brooke Tessmacher noted on Facebook recently that she and TNA star Robbie E. are no longer an item.

The two apparently broke up before finishing the filming of CBS’s “The Amazing Race” reality show a few months ago.

Tessmacher wrote the following on her official Facebook page.

“I do not mind sharing my personal life on social media. I normally would never comment on this but it’s beyond annoying at this point.

NO, I am no longer with Robbie E. We filmed the race this past summer and separated by the end of filming. I am so so incredibly happy in my life and have fully moved on. Hope you guys can as well.”

Every time I wake up I think, ‘Wow, I’m a two-time champion. I did that. I know if I wanted to do it again, I could.’ It’s a dream come true.”

“I hope in January to be on the U.K. tour. I’m looking forward to working with Jessicka Havok. I would love to see what I can do in the ring against her. She is quite scary, obviously. I think I have mental prep from Gail Kim and Lisa [Marie Varon, a.k.a. Tara]. I also would love to have a few matches with Taryn Terrell. • Robbie E. Talks TNA’s Future On Spike TV, Bound For Glory, Amazing Race

The following are highlights of a Ring Rust Radio interview with TNA performer Robbie E.

On the changes Impact has been through and if TNA stays on Spike TV: “I think change is a good thing. It keeps things fresh and exciting. The new night is a shock to some people. Our ratings are already where they normally were. Wrestling really hasn’t been on Wednesday nights before. I think it’s a new setting, it’s ours, and we own it. As far as whether we end up staying on Spike TV or going somewhere else it doesn’t really matter. Our fan base is going to follow and TNA is here to stay.”

On Bound for Glory being in Japan: “Change is good, something different is good. It is pretty rare and random for a wrestling P.P.V. to be held outside the U.S. especially somewhere like Japan. I think it builds excitement, it’s something different, and you don’t know what to expect. I’m excited to be a part of it; everyone is excited to be a part of it. I think it will be fun as a fan to watch. I think it will be a whole new cool experience with everyone involved.”

On he and Brooke starring in The Amazing Race: “When you think of me and when you think of Brooke, you think of two of the wildest and craziest people in wrestling. I think we are perfect for reality TV. We are the perfect two people to race around the world and do a whole bunch of crazy stuff. It is going to be a wild and exciting 12 weeks. You’re going to see Robbie E. do things you probably didn’t think he would ever be willing to do. Let’s just say I don’t like animals.”
