TNA taped some fight scenes in the streets of New York City at the Impact Wrestling television taping in early January. A segment is scheduled to air on Friday’s edition of the show that was taped outside with the idea of presenting a street fight between Bobby Lashley and MVP.
Speaking of pre-taped segments, TNA flew Austin Aries, Magnus, Robbie E., Rockstar Spud and Velvet Sky to TNA Headquarters in Nashville to tape the “Feast or Fired” briefcase reveals on January 13th. This was done in an attempt to avoid having the reveals leaking onto the internet.
The following are highlights of a new Radio Yorkshire interview with TNA’s Rockstar Spud:
On Impact Wrestling network negotiations: “Every few years, TNA and Dixie have to go through these negotiations and the way social media has evolved over the last three years, has been ridiculous, so now everyone feels apart of everything that is going on, we have these negotiations regularly there not an issue, but because now with social media, people are saying their having negotiations everyone is making a mountain out of a molehill, it’s seems to just snowball, none of us internally were worried what was happening because we knew what was going on.”
On working with Ethan Carter III: “When we first met, we were a bit wary of each other, I’d never really anything of his previous work, I didn’t know that was him but for him it was a fresh start with the right opportunity, that is what wrestling is about it’s about the right person getting the right opportunity and the right people watching. Both us have the same mindset to wrestling, we both have the same thoughts onto getting the baby face over, we have the same sort of teaching we both have been to OVW and have that instant chemistry.”
On Destination America: “It’s such a positive thing, Spike were amazing partners they really were, but we’re now on a network much like Challenge in England, their whole channel has a big hole for wrestling, that’s what Destination America is, their whole thing is catered towards Impact Wrestling now they bring a lot of their live audience and a lot of their viewers, which can only help their channel like with Challenge in England.”
On Dixie Carter: “She’s amazing, I couldn’t ask for a better boss, on camera she is an absolutely evil woman but off camera the most wonderful person you will ever meet. She’s personable, polite, and a friend.”
Former WWE announcer Josh Mathews has been working out of TNA headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee recently and noted via social media that he is working on a new YouTube program with TNA performer Rockstar Spud.
“I’m With Spud” will be released on YouTube every Wednesday with Spud giving his thoughts on that night’s Impact Wrestling show.
Regarding Mathews’ actual status with TNA, there is no word yet on when he will make his debut on TNA television.
As noted earlier this week, former WWE Superstar Brodus Clay debuted with TNA at the Impact Wrestling television taping on Tuesday night. Clay aligned himself with Ethan Carter III after attacking Rockstar Spud.
In TNA, Clay will now be using the name “Tyrus.”
His first match will likely air on the October 15th or October 22nd edition of Impact Wrestling against Shark Boy. He also interacts with Eric Young and the Hardy Boys over the next few weeks of television.
The following are highlights of a new Alternative Nation interview with TNA star Rockstar Spud:
On Bully Ray telling the TNA locker room that he’s leaving the company: “Well I wasn’t personally there, because I was in England filming British Boot Camp 2, and helping out with that process. If someone like Bully Ray has to depart from the company, that really does suck, because he brings a tremendous amount to the company, in a backstage role and an on screen role. I’ve said this in interviews before, if Hulk Hogan was around in the 80?s and so was Bully Ray, there wouldn’t be a Hulk Hogan because Bully Ray would have knocked him out of the park.”
On what a loss it is to TNA for Bully Ray to go: “Because Bubba has that connection with the audience, whether you love or hate him, he can connect, and get inside your soul (chuckles), you know what I mean? It would be a tremendous loss if Bully Ray had to depart from TNA, but let’s see who is going to step up and take that place. This is the wrestling business, when one opportunity falls away, it’s another opportunity for somebody else. So it would be good to see who steps up from there, but if he leaves the company, would I be disappointed? Absolutely, but like I said, it would be interesting to see who stepped into that role.”
TNA taped part of next week’s edition of Impact Wrestling on Thursday evening. The rest of next week’s show, as well as the show that will air on July 3rd, will be taped tonight at the Sands Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Below is what has been taped thus far for the June 26th episode.
– Gail Kim & Taryn Terrell def. The Beautiful People in Knockouts tag-team action.
– Sanada retained the X-Division Championship in a four-way match that also featured Crazzy Steve, Manik and Zema Ion.
– An in-ring segment took place featuring MVP, Bobby Lashley and Kenny King, as well as Eric Young and Bobby Roode. Ultimately, MVP tried to fire Young and Roode, however the TNA Board of Directors came out and rescinded the firings, telling MVP that he is no longer the Director of Wrestling Operations for TNA.
– James Storm def. Mr. Anderson in a one-on-one bout.
– An in-ring segment took place with Dixie Carter bragging about MVP no longer being the Director of Wrestling Operations, assuming that she is again in control until the same member of the Board of Directors from earlier in the evening came out and informed her that she wasn’t in charge either. Dixie threw a fit and demanded to know who was in charge, but the man refused to tell her. Eventually, Bully Ray came out and threatened again to put Dixie through a table until Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud came out to make the save. Tommy Dreamer and Ethan Carter III ended up getting into a big brawl as well.
– Magnus & Bram def. Willow & Abyss in a Monster’s Ball match.
– The announcement is made as to who the new TNA Director of Wrestling Operations is, which turned out to be Kurt Angle. This led to MVP, Lashley and King coming out to threaten Angle until Young and Roode came down to the make the save.
TNA has released a “CRAY-Z” video of Dixie Carter attacking her Chief of Staff Rockstar Spud in an elevator – a parody of Beyonce’s sister Solange attacking rapper Jay-Z in an elevator at the Met Gala after party at the Standard Hotel in New York City, which has been a major celebrity tabloid story this week.
“IMPACT announcer Jeremy Borash was getting Dixie’s thoughts on MVP but things begin to get interesting when Spud shows up and mentions that Dixie has been ignoring him this week.”
“Loud screams and an unmistakable thud caught our attention and we were able to get our hands on the security footage from inside the elevator. As you will see, the TNA President wildly attacks Spud on the elevator before an intervention by Borash.”
The article adds that “repeated attempts” to reach Dixie Carter and Rockstar Spud for comment have been refused.
The TNA stars scheduled for next year’s European tour, which was a solid success for the company earlier this year, are Bully Ray, Magnus, Samoa Joe, James Storm, Bobby Roode, Ken Anderson, Eric Young, Gail Kim, Gunner, Abyss, Ethan Carter III, Tigre Uno and Rockstar Spud. That would lead you to believe that all of those talents are under contract through the rest of 2014 and into 2015.
In the case of Jeff Hardy, whether he’s under contract or not, he can’t be part of the European tour because of his past drug conviction.
The European tour dates are January 29th in Glasgow, Scotland, January 30th in Manchester, England and January 31st in London, England.
The only show announced as a TV taping is the 1/31 date in London, where two episodes of Impact Wrestling are scheduled to be taped. They’ve also announced an Ultimate-X match for the London show.

The following are results of the Impact Wrestling television taping for the Thursday, April 24th edition of the show.
– Magnus comes to the ring for a promo. He says he was never really beaten by Eric Young for the title, and says the biggest failure that fateful night was his help. He says good help is hard to find. He brings out Abyss. Magnus calls Abyss an idiot and says he now realizes why everyone abandoned him. Magnus fires Abyss. Abyss says he realizes now that he’s a monster and that he’s going to once again start destroying lives, starting with Magnus. Magnus says Abyss is no longer a contracted TNA wrestler. MVP comes out and confirms that fact. MVP says he will consider this Abyss’ TNA tryout, and that if he can defeat Magnus, he can regain his spot back in TNA.
– Bobby Lashley def. Kenny King via countout. Lashley dominated the majority of the match. As he was about to hit his finisher on King, King rolled out of the ring and simply walked off to the back. The referee counted him out.
– Madison Rayne comes to the ring for a promo. She calls out The Beautiful People. They come out and Madison attacks them. They recover, however, and get the upper hand. Brittany does a run-in to try and save Madison, but the numbers game is too much for them. The Beautiful People do their brown-bag skit on Madison. Gail Kim eventually comes out to make the save. She challenges The Beautiful People to a match later tonight.

In a match taped for TNA’s “Final Resolution” edition of Impact Wrestling on Tuesday night, Magnus defeated Jeff Hardy in a “Steel Cage Dixieland” match to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
The rules of the match stated that the wrestler must escape the cape and advance to the TNA stage where a ladder was set up. The wrestler must then climb the ladder to retrieve the belt. As Hardy was going to do exactly that, Rockstar Spud came out and knocked the ladder over, which allowed Magnus to pick up the win.
With the victory, Magnus is now set up for a unification match against fellow TNA Champion AJ Styles whenever TNA decides to pull the trigger.
