CM Punk wasted little time in having some fun at the expense of Roman Reigns on social media.
WWE made big news when they issued a statement on Monday as it was announced that WrestleMania 36 will still take place as scheduled but will take place at a different location.
It was originally scheduled to take place at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. However, it was moved due to the coronavirus and will now air live at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida with no live audience.
CM Punk took to his official Twitter account where he wrote, “Well that’s one way to make sure Roman finally gets not booed and nobody chants for meeeeeee.”
Punk’s reference was about Reigns being heavily booed by fans on numerous occasions including previous WrestleMania events in which he either won or was challenging for the WWE Title.
CM Punk won’t be appearing on Tuesday’s episode of WWE Backstage on FS1 due to the production of the show being halted due to the coronavirus. There’s no word yet on when the show will return.
Reigns is slated to challenge Goldberg for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 36. This is expected to be one of the top matches featured on the card.
WWE announced on this week’s episode of SmackDown that the Universal Champion Goldberg will be returning to WWE Television on next week’s episode of the show.
This week’s episode of SmackDown saw Roman Reigns having a
sit down interview with Michael Cole where the Big Dog talked about his
WrestleMania 36 opponent.
Reigns said that he respects Goldberg but mentioned how he
is a part-timer and the former Universal Champion claimed that the company does
not have time for that.
The former Shield member then promised to beat the former
WCW star, and set things right in WWE by taking the championship back from the
53-year-old star.
After this, WWE announced that Goldberg will be making his return to WWE programming during next week’s episode of SmackDown where he and Roman Reigns will sign the contract for their upcoming match.
This week’s episode of SmackDown Live was broadcasted from WWE Performance Center due to coronavirus threats. Monday’s episode of Raw has also been moved to the PC and it’s most likely that next week’s SmackDown will be rescheduled as well.
Roman Reigns is expected to face Goldberg at WrestleMania, though the company is also putting contingency plans in place in case the show is cancelled. You can read WWE’s statement on WrestleMania here.
WWE Hall of Famer and co-host of Busted Open Radio Mark Henry had some intriguing comments regarding the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania. Roman Reigns will be challenging new Champion Goldberg at the event; following a face-to-face with the former WCW star on SmackDown this past Friday. The live crowd in Boston not only booed Goldberg, who had defeated The Fiend just the night before, but also were not exactly receptive to Reigns, chanting “you both suck.”
Roman Reigns Main Eventing Again?
This will be the fifth time that Roman Reigns has main evented WrestleMania, if this match goes on last. The previous four bouts came at the height of fans completely rejecting Reigns in the main event position, however Mark Henry believes that this time will be different.
“This is a time where you’re not shoving Roman Reigns down somebody’s throat” Henry began. “And the people actually wanted…they were cheering for Roman, they were like, ‘kick his ass, take the title.’ They [the fans] want to see Roman Reigns have success again, that’s where we’ve evolved to, and I’m looking forward to it.”
Henry elaborated further, saying “I think that this is Romans time. People believe in him, people get behind him. They want to see him. Do they want to see him be [WWE] champion? I’m not sure, we’ll find out. But do they want to see him be champion more than Goldberg? Yes.”
Henry then made the point that Goldberg should be clearly positioned as the antagonist in the feud with Reigns. “He’s [Goldberg] gonna have to be arrogant. ‘I told you that I will be champion again, everybody was on my back about what happened the last time I was in Saudi but look at me now.’ I would paint the picture of him being the biggest assh*le that has ever been in pro wrestling.”
You can listen to Busted Open Radio every day via SiriusXM or the Podcast version via Apple Podcasts, Stitcher or Player FM.

It appears that the feud between Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin is finally over and the Big Dog will be moving to his next rivalry after the Super Showdown event.
The show in Saudi Arabia saw the former Universal Champion
defeating Corbin in a steel cage match after hitting him with a superman punch
using a steel chain.
After the show went off air, the WWE crew talked to Roman
Reigns backstage and they asked him how it felt to finally get his retribution
against the former US Champion.
Replying to the question, the former Shield member explained that being in his position means that people will always challenge you for your spot.
He also admitted that if felt good to beat Corbin and Reigns then said that he now expects someone else to have beef with him:
“I expect somebody else to have beef with me, that’s just the place that I’m in. Everyone wants to take what’s mine and it’s up to me to defend it every single night.”
The announcers kept mentioning that the match was the end of
the rivalry between the two stars and these comments from Roman Reigns make it
feel like he is finally done with the former NXT star.
Roman Reigns is expected to compete in a big Elimination Chamber match and reports have already revealed the plans for him at WrestleMania. You can check a detailed report on Reigns’ WrestleMania opponent at this link.

Both WWE and Roman Reigns have been celebrating the one year anniversary of his return announcement. The “Big Dog” had taken some time away to deal with a second battle with leukemia before making his triumphant return to the squared circle.
Reflecting on his journey, Reigns posted a heartfelt message to his Twitter account, thanking the WWE Universe for their support.
“Sharing this life with millions of people is one of the things that makes being a @WWE Superstar amazing,” Reigns wrote. “Life has struggles and setbacks, but the power and prayers of this Universe gave me the strength to fight back. Thank y’all for your support. We got much more to do!!!”
The Superstar announced that his leukemia had unfortunately returned after being in remission during the October 22, 2018 episode of Monday Night RAW. This news forced him to vacate the WWE Universal Championship and step away from WWE. Thankfully, he was able to return in February 2019, where he announced that the disease had once more gone into remission.
WWE has also been celebrating the anniversary. Their official twitter account has been sharing several of Reigns’ epic moments since his momentous comeback.
Sharing this life with millions of people is one of the things that makes being a @WWE Superstar amazing. Life has struggles and setbacks, but the power and prayers of this Universe gave me the strength to fight back.
Reigns recently shared why he decided to break kayfabe for the initial announcement that he was leaving. He explained how he had a connection with the audience and wanted to share the truth, unfiltered.
“I just didn’t want to lie. I didn’t want people to make up stories of what I was doing or where I was going,” he confessed on an episode of WWE The Bump. “I just wanted to be truthful and let the world know what was going on with me.”
Roman Reigns is scheduled to face Baron Corbin in a Steel Cage Match at WWE Super ShowDown. The event takes place on February 27 from Mohammed Abdu Arena on the Boulevard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Roman Reigns’ leukemia announcement on Raw was one of the most real moments of the professional wrestling history and it was a rare incident where the Big Dog broke the kayfabe to connect with the audience.
During his recent appearance on The Bump, Reigns talked about a number of things and he also explained why he decided to come out of his storyline character for the revelation.
The former Champion first said that he had built a relationship with the people in the past few years and Roman then claimed that he just wanted to be truthful with them:
“I just didn’t want to lie. I didn’t want people to
make up stories of what I was doing or where I was going. I just wanted to be
truthful and let the world know what was going on with me.
If there was anyone who could take a shred of hope and take my story and use it as strength, or experience, then I thought that would be the best use of what was going on.” said Reigns. “I just wanted to utilize the platform I had with my fanbase and help anyone who was going through that.”
Roman Reigns also discussed how this experience has changed
his life and he explained that now he feels blessed every day. Per the former
World Champion, he feels blessed just to be able to wake up and hug his
daughter.
Apart from this, the former World Champion also talked about how his efforts of trying to spread awareness about the disease are going and more. You can check out Roman’s interview in the video below:
Simone Johnson has no shortage of family members she can turn to for advice when it comes to wrestling and one of them is the current WWE superstar and cousin of her father The Rock, Roman Reigns.
Reigns recently had an interview with TMZ where he talked
about a number of things and he also revealed his advice for the newest WWE
star.
The former World Champion was asked if his niece should use the People’s Elbow made famous by her dad and replying to the question, Roman said that his advice to Simone would be to develop her own personality:
“If I were to give her some advice, I’d say try to develop your own personality and develop your own shtick, your own character,” Reigns said.
“I mean, we can do anything we want. I could’ve been The Savage from the Island of Samoa if I wanted to, but I developed a different character and I went a different route.”
Reigns then explained that he has developed his own
character but he is still able to pay homage to his heritage and Johnson will
feel more accomplished if she does the same.
Apart from this, Roman Reigns also responded to UFC star Jon Jones’ recent comments about joining WWE and discussed a potential match with the MMA fighter. You can check out his comments on the matter here.
UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones had recently said that a move to WWE is ‘inevitable’ and it’s only a matter of time. Now it appears that Roman Reigns is ready to take on the MMA star when he arrives.
Reigns recently spoke to TMZ during the WrestleMania 37 press conference. He was asked if Jones can dominate WWE like UFC, and Roman said that he has the tools and there could be a future for him in wrestling if he can put in the time.
Discussing a potential match with the UFC star, the former
World Champion said that someone like Jon would definitely want to be in there
with the Big Dog. When asked if he can take on Jones in a match, Roman said
that it would be a hell of a fight:
“Oh man, it would be a helluva fight,” Reigns
said. “But when it comes to the squared circle, I don’t think there’s
anybody better in the world. So, yeah, I feel very comfortable being in the ring
with Jon Jones.”
Roman also said that Jon Jones has a huge career in UFC
which is still going on so he should keep his eyes on the ball and don’t worry
about WWE right now.
Apart from this, Roman Reigns discussed The Rock’s daughter Simone Johnson joining WWE. You can check out what advice he would give to Simone in the video below:
The Usos will be missing this week’s episode of SmackDown
due to past legal issues and it means that Roman Reigns will have to find a new
partner to defend the pride of his bloodline in a match against the Miz and
John Morrison.
The Miz took on his Twitter yesterday and made some interesting comments. He mentioned how he has done more than what many superstars can dream of and name-dropped The Usos and Roman Reigns.
The A-Lister had also teased that the Usos won’t be able to
appear on SmackDown this week. Reigns then jumped in to defend his bloodline
and he fired some shots of his own:
Most-hated to Must-See. A nobody to an A-lister. I’ve done more for @WWE than other Superstars dream of and I ALWAYS make the show. Even Roman knows (from his VAST movie experience ?) that the show always goes on … even when The Usos can’t. #Smackdown
I doubt anyone has seen your terrible movies, let alone care if you actually make the show. But if you do make it, stop by and get your ass whooped real quick, again. #HobbsAndShaw ? #Smackdownhttps://t.co/7mV8boEJCj
I know you don’t pay attention to anything outside the WWE bubble- not much inside the bubble either for that matter. But you’re not the only one that’s been hustling all these years ?? regards ~ #TheMayorOfSlamtownhttps://t.co/s1WyiwZsh5
WWE has since confirmed that the Miz and John Morrison will
be competing in a tag match against Roman Reigns at this week’s episode of the
show.
They confirmed the news on their official website and
announced that the Big Dog will have to find a partner for himself due to the
“impending absence” of the Usos.
For those who don’t know, this week’s SmackDown will be taking place from Vancouver, Canada and the Usos will not be a part of it because their past legal troubles prevent them from entering the country.
Roman Reigns has addressed John Cena’s comments regarding the current WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar. Cena recently shared his belief that Lesnar is the “best in-ring performer” he’s ever seen. Speaking during a WrestleMania 37 press conference at SoFi Stadium & Hollywood Park in California, “The Big Dog” shared his opinion on Cena’s thoughts.
“It puts you on a different level. When you work with Brock Lesnar, when you’re in the ring with Brock Lesnar, it puts you… it jumps you multiple levels,” Reigns said. “My life changed in 2015, WrestleMania 31. It hadn’t been the same. So, I mean, got a lot of love or Brock, he’s a great performer. A lot of people heard the statements that John Cena made about him… I’m not sure if he was wrong, you know what I mean?”
WrestleMania 31 saw Reigns face off against Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Seth Rollins would appear and cash in his Money In The Bank contract, eventually winning the championship.
Roman Reigns On Drew McIntyre’s WrestleMania Matchup
Roman Reigns then turned his attention to Lesnar’s upcoming WrestleMania 36 opponent, Drew McIntyre. He shared how McIntyre will be in “good hands” when he clashes with Lesnar later this year.
“He’s one of the few guys that people really, really believe,” Reigns said of Lesnar. “Even as a performer, you have to always keep your eyes on him. If you watch…when I’m in the ring with him, I never take my eyes off Brock, because you just never know. That’s the type of competitor, that’s the type of intimidating man that he is. So, I think the fact that Drew is going to him next, he’s in good hands.”
Roman Reigns is scheduled to face off against King Corbin at WWE Super ShowDown. The two will clash in a Steel Cage match. The event takes place on February 27th from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

During the WrestleMania 37 press conference, WWE Superstar Roman Reigns was asked about challenging for the WWE Universal Championship. He was also asked who he would rather wrestle for the title: “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt or Goldberg. Those two Superstars clash for the Universal Championship later this month during WWE’s Super ShowDown event in Saudi Arabia.
“I mean, I just want my title, to be honest,” Reigns said. “Nobody took it from me. I had to relinquish it due to circumstances. So I’d just prefer my title. Honestly, from a completely honest standpoint, I would much rather face The Fiend. He’s busted his ass all year long for it.”
He continued, “No offense to Goldberg, I think he’s a great performer, he’s a great Superstar, but I’m into the future right now and helping out the guys who are gonna be in the locker room with me, and there’s no doubt that Fiend has put a lot of work into what he’s done, as we all have. Like I said, it’s my time now. We’ve had fun with that Fun House, but it’s time to bring it home.”

At the time of writing, Roman Reigns doesn’t have a match scheduled at WrestleMania 36. The only match currently slated is between the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre. Reigns did, however, recently tease his interest in a matchup next year against his cousin, Dwayne “The Rock “Johnson.
If you use any quotes from this article, please provide a H/T to SEScoops.
Roman Reigns has pitched for a high-profile match for next year’s WrestleMania during a recent WrestleMania 37 press conference. “The Big Dog” shared his interest in a matchup against none other than his cousin, WWE Legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“I said it earlier, man: If there’s a stadium — Hey, DJ, check it out. Not bad, right? You know, everyone’s always dream matching me and him,” Reigns said. “First of all, we’re family, so it’s all love, but if there was going to be an event for him to compete in, to perform in…a venue to hold that mass-scale of attention that he’s going to bring, it’s right here in your backyard. You know what I mean? You ain’t gotta go far.”
It was recently revealed that WrestleMania 37 would take place at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The event is scheduled to take place on March 28th, 2021.
Despite the excitement at the announcement, WrestleMania 36 is just over the horizon. The show airs on April 5th from the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. At the time of writing, the only match announced for the event is a WWE Championship match. Brock Lesnar will be defending his title against the winner of the 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble, Drew Mcintyre.

Buddy Murphy has confessed he believes that Roman Reigns is one of the best in the world. Speaking with talkSPORT, the RAW Team Team Champion opened up about his experiences wrestling the “Big Dog.”
“Yeah, it was awesome to be in that position,” Murphy said, reflecting on his 2019 SmackDown matches against Reigns and Daniel Bryan. “First of all, with the Roman match and being thrown into the mix with him – Roman was awesome to work with. He kind of let me put my own little spin on it.”
He continued, “It was more a Buddy Murphy match, so to speak. I know a lot of people in the internet wrestling community give Roman a lot of hate, ‘he can’t wrestle’ and whatever – Roman is one of the best wrestlers in the world and you can mark my word on that.
Buddy Murphy praised Reigns’ ability in the ring, commenting on the chemistry that had together. Murphy added how, if he could, he would wrestle him every day of the week. It’s a sentiment he also has for Daniel Bryan.
Buddy Murphy On Joining Seth Rollins
Having aligned with Seth Rollins, Murphy has since been a tear on RAW. When asked about who approached him to join the stable, Murphy revealed it was Rollins’ idea.
“Seth did approach me about it, yes. I was very excited to have a story to sink my teeth into because I know I can go out there and perform. I’ve proven that and I’ve stolen many, many shows I’ve been on, but the character aspect and connecting with fans is something you always want to work on. This is the perfect opportunity for that.”
Buddy Murphy noted how the stable reflects the real-life respect he carries for Rollins. He knows there is a lot he can learn from Rollins going forward and is excited by the dynamic between themselves and the Authors of Pain leading to bigger storylines in the future.
WWE Superstar Baron Corbin has reflected on his feud with Roman Reigns. During the rivalry, Corbin utilized a can of real dog food, dunking its contents over “The Big Dog.” Speaking with the Houston Chronicle, Corbin talked about how doing so was a “blast” for him.
Old School
Corbin spoke about the pride he takes in playing the bad guy, helping the WWE Universe get behind babyfaces like Roman Reigns. He stated how “Every once in a while you used to get the ‘Let’s go Roman,’ ‘Roman Sucks’ chants. Now, no one is saying ‘Roman sucks.’ It is always ‘Corbin sucks.’”
When asked about a rivalry highlight, Corbin shared how “covering him in dog food was a blast aside from the smell – it got on me as well. But that level of guttural hatred that I heard when we were doing it was awesome and the moment was right. I think it was old school and it was just nasty. And I think outside the box. It was a lot of fun to do.”
Baron Corbin’s Royal Rumble Thoughts
With WWE’s Royal Rumble match coming up this Sunday, Corbin was asked about the 30-man match. He confessed he likes competing in the Rumble as it “keeps you on your toes.”
“There are so things that go awry and stuff like that when you have so many competitors in the ring and it’s exciting and stressful but it’s fun. You have to keep your head on a swivel because you don’t always know who’s coming out next and whatever it may be. You have 29 other people trying to get rid of you. I think it’s awesome. It’s just a huge overload of stress and excitement and that’s what makes it fun.”
Baron Corbin faces Roman Reigns in a Falls Count Anywhere match this Sunday at Royal Rumble. The event takes place at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.
Roman Reigns teased Goldberg through the power of social media.
It all started when a fan asked Reigns on Twitter about a small, black pad that’s placed on the stage during his entrance. It turns out that Reigns does his signature fist pound to the floor that sees his fist hit the pad.
Roman Reigns Teases Goldberg
Reigns responded to the fan by noting that he does it so he doesn’t break his hand.
“Nothing to explain, Nick. It’s a little piece of pad,” Reigns wrote. “So I don’t break my hand on steel grate. I gotta perform like 48 weeks a year man. So that would be stupid. It would be like [thinking emoji] head butting a door before my match level of stupid. Anyway, have a good day, Nick.”
Regarding Reigns’ “head butting a door” reference, this was a nod to Goldberg’s pre-match ritual before his matches.
It turns out that this became a bit of an issue during Goldberg’s 2016-2017 run in WWE. He has since revealed in interviews that he would knock himself silly on the door before going out to a cut a promo where he would forget his lines in the process.
Goldberg spoke about what happened that night during an interview in 2017 on the podcast hosted by Edge and Christian:
“How about when I knocked myself out on the door? Did you hear that one? You didn’t hear that one? I did that, I don’t know, a month ago. My way of getting ready, you know me, man. They knock on my door, I pour water on my head, so I don’t catch on fire from the sparks, and I headbutt the door. I’m a neanderthal. That’s what I do, right? I’m walking to the ring, and I go through Gorilla, and then, I get in the ring, man, and I literally forgot every single thing that I was supposed to say.”
Reigns and Goldberg have never had a one-on-one bout against each other. The closest that fans came to see this was when they competed in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match in 2017 from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
Following his New Year’s eve victory over Dolph Ziggler, Roman Reigns joined special guest ring announcer Maria Menounos backstage. Together, they looked back on the year, with Reigns reflecting on his 2019.
“It’s just been such an amazing year. A bit of a rollercoaster ride. It was just really nice to see the positivity of the world still. Like within this year. If you follow WWE and what we do… [it’s a] bit polarizing. Everybody just dropped that motive, that intention and just helped out Joe. Helped me out, picked me up, let me know that there’s a huge security blanket around me and it’s allowed me to heal and just get back to work and make my life normal again.”
Roman Reigns’ 2020 Goals
When asked about his goals for the year ahead, Reigns spoke about maintaining his health and ensuring he enjoys the little moments. He also noted how he wants to work hard and help others take it to the next level.
Closing out his thoughts on 2019, Reigns turned his attention to the WWE Universe. He thanked the fans, noting how his “life wouldn’t be the way it is without you guys.”
“There’s a lot of people for me to thank. Countless people back here, but when it comes down to it, the fans that pay their hard-earned money, take the time out of their busy schedules… If it’s not for you guys, the most passionate fanbase in the whole world, the WWE Universe, I wouldn’t be in the position that I am now. I wouldn’t be the man that I am now I wouldn’t be the provider that I am, so it’s just a lifelong of thank yous that I owe you and I’ll never stop.”
Reigns stressed how grateful he was to the fans and to WWE, reiterating his passion for the wrestling industry. He noted how, even when he’s being the “tough guy Roman Reigns” he is always counting his blessings to be able to wrestle and be in the position he is in, both in and out of the ring.

WWE has updated its promotional material for upcoming events that features a match involving Roman Reigns.
WWE will air episodes of Friday Night SmackDown at the SAP Center in San Jose on February 7th and the Rogers Arena in Vancouver on February 14th.
Roman Reigns Match Type
Roman Reigns vs. Baron Corbin in a “loser eats dog food” match is being advertised for both shows. Here is the advertisement from SAPCenter.com:
WWE Friday Night SmackDown is coming to San Jose! Double Main Event! Your chance to see Daniel Bryan vs. Universal Champion ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin in a loser eats dog food match, plus SmackDown Tag Team Champions the New Day, SmackDown Women’s Champion Braun Strowman, Sasha Banks, Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and more! *Card is subject to change.
Keep in mind that these matches will likely serve as dark matches for the live crowd in attendance and not air on television.
Different Roman Reigns Match
With WWE, anything is possible and they could do the stipulation on television at some time but that hasn’t been reported up to this point.
It was originally reported that WWE had considered booking Reigns vs. Corbin in an interesting match type at the WWE TLC pay-per-view event.
They were at one point slated to have a dog collar match in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Target Center on the WWE Network but plans changed to them having a TLC match.
As seen on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Detroit, Michigan at Little Caesars Arena on FOX, Reigns attacked Corbin at the start and the main event of the show.
As a result, this ultimately cost him a shot at Bray Wyatt’s Universal Title at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event next month.
Roman Reigns didn’t get his revenge on Baron Corbin.
“The Big Dog” did so when he battled King Corbin in a TLC (tables, ladders & chairs) Match at the WWE TLC pay-per-view event in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Target Center. Corbin ended up going over with some help from Dolph Ziggler, The Revival, and several security guards.
It’s been reported that the company was considering different ideas for a stipulation that would be part of this contest including a dog collar match.
WWE has been building up this feud on television over the past few weeks that forced them to be on the same team at Survivor Series last month. It got to the point where brought Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode into the fold to help Corbin battle Reigns. Two weeks ago on SmackDown, the heels beat down Reigns and poured dog food on him.
During the men’s Survivor Series elimination match, the two stars had a moment. Corbin caused the elimination of their Team SmackDown partner Mustafa Ali.
As a result, Reigns hit a spear on Corbin, which resulted in Corbin being eliminated by Tommaso Ciampa. Reigns went on to win the match for his team to beat out Team NXT and Team RAW.
NXT Superstar Tommaso Ciampa has shared who he was most looking forward to sharing the ring with during WWE’s last pay-per-view, Survivor Series. For him, the two Superstars he was eager to compete against were “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns and “The Viper” Randy Orton.
“[…] for me, personally, Roman has always kind of been a dream opponent and Randy has always kind of been more like a dream mentor just cause we’re so similar in style that I’ve always kind of visioned that if he could take me under his ring or tag with him or something, but either way just the idea of sharing a stage with those two dudes…”
Ciampa was quick to note that he wasn’t discrediting anyone else in the match. For him, however, Reigns and Orton were the two he was most looking forward to having some ring time against, no matter how long it might have been.
He added how his going against those two wouldn’t just have been great for him, but for his family as well. He explained how his dad, brother and cousins are all huge wrestling fans, and so for them to get the opportunity to see Ciampa wrestle against top names on such a large platform was “wild” to him.
Team SmackDown, which featured Roman Reigns, would eventually emerge victoriously from their Survivor Series elimination match featuring both Team RAW and Team NXT.
A new episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown is here as the company gets closer to the TLC pay-per-view event.
With just hours until bell time, it’s time to look ahead starting with tonight’s episode of SmackDown. There’s not a lot known about the show outside of a match announcement and two teasers sent out by WWE.
One match has been announced thus far for this show, which is Roman Reigns battling Dolph Ziggler in a singles match.
WWE holds this show from Fayetteville, NC at the Crown Complex. WWE is advertising the following items for tonight’s broadcast:
King Corbin vows to humiliate Roman Reigns
What happened to Daniel Bryan?

Chris Jericho was recently a guest on Konnan’s “Keepin it 100” podcast where he spoke about a wide range of topics.
During the interview, Jericho talked about the scripting of WWE’s promos for their superstars to use on television. He gave some high praise to one of if not the top star in WWE, Roman Reigns.
“If you had a guy like Roman Reigns in AEW, he would be so over,” Jericho stated. “Roman is so legit, a real cool dude, man.”
Jericho noted how Reigns is such a great and cool guy that you would want to hang out with.
He added, “They never portray him like that on the show. They always give him these promos to read and the real Roman Reigns never really shines through.”
Jericho took a chance of himself and All Elite Wrestling when he signed with the promotion earlier this year.
Since that time, he has been the top star in the promotion where he has beaten the likes of Kenny Omega at Double or Nothing and Adam Page to become the inaugural AEW World Champion at All Out.
Most recently, successfully retained the championship over Cody Rhodes in the co-headliner of the Full Gear pay-per-view event this month.
Although Jon Moxley, formerly known as Dean Ambrose from his time with WWE, is no longer under contract with the company, Roman Reigns still decided to celebrate the anniversary of The Shield’s WWE debut.
Reigns sent out a heartfelt message on his official Twitter account where he reflected on the main roster debut of the group that consisted of Reigns, Ambrose, and Seth Rollins. He wrote the following:
“7 years ago. 3 hungry dudes ready to take over the world debuted in @WWE. Multiple world championships. Main events around the world. Money made. Families grown. Taking our own paths but will always be brothers. #TheShield.”
At the 2012 Survivor Series pay-per-view event, The Shield helped CM Punk retain the WWE Title over John Cena and Ryback in a Triple Threat Match.
