As seen at WWE Night Of Champions on Sunday night, a fan jumped the guard rail and hit the ring just before the start of the Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho vs. The Wyatt Family six man tag-team match.
As noted late last night, WWE issued the following statement regarding the fan incident after the show:
“WWE takes the safety of our performers very seriously and any fan entering the ring area will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
According to PWInsider.com, due to the recent string of fan incidents, WWE is reportedly looking to pursue the most stringent prosecution possible for all future fan incidents.
WWE generally issues lifetime bans to fans who jump the guard rail at events, however if WWE pursues criminal charges for these incidents in the future, the feeling is it will decrease the amount of repeat incidents.
The post-Night Of Champions edition of WWE RAW is scheduled to take place tonight from the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas with the fallout from Sunday night’s pay-per-view.
WWE Superstars advertised for tonight’s show include Seth Rollins, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Kevin Owens, Sheamus, The Dudley Boyz and The New Day.
While no matches have been officially announced as of yet, WWE is focusing on the following five points in their RAW Five-Point Preview.
* Why has Demon Kane returned?
* Is Ryback hungry for a rematch against Kevin Owens?
* How will Charlotte celebrate her Divas Title victory?
* What might The Dudley Boyz have planned for The New Day?
* Will Cena’s newly won U.S. Title be on the line?

– WWE.com has a new poll up asking fans if Chris Jericho was a bad choice to be the mystery partner for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose at Night Of Champions. 69 percent of fans felt that The Wyatt Family would have lost if they had a different partner, while 31 percent of fans believed if Jericho couldn’t help them win, no one could.
– WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross was full of high praise for new WWE Divas Champion Charlotte following her victory over Nikki Bella at Sunday’s WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view. “Good Ole’ JR” took to Twitter after the show to post the following.
Just my opinion but @MsCharlotteWWE ain't no diva…she's all woman and the champion making her the women's champ. Just saying…
As we reported on Sunday night, a fan jumped the guard rail and hit the ring while Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose were staring down The Wyatt Family, prior to Chris Jericho being introduced as their mystery partner.
The fan ended up being taken down and out of the ring by security, Jericho came out as planned, and the match went on — as did the remainder of the show — without any additional interference from the fan, or other fans.
As this is the second time in recent weeks that WWE has had a fan jump the rail, coincidentally enough during Ambrose matches in both cases, WWE issued the following statement:
“WWE takes the safety of our performers very seriously and any fan entering the ring area will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

At the WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view on Sunday night, a fan hit the ring while viewers waited to find out who the mystery partner would be for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
The fan stood next to Reigns and Ambrose in the ring before being tackled and taken out by security. This was, oddly enough, the second time in the past few weeks that Ambrose in particular has been involved at a WWE event where a fan jumped the guard rail.
You can view a grainy screen shot photo of the fan in the ring during the match below.

Well, it looks like Kane and Chris Jericho aren’t the only guests backstage at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, the site of tonight’s WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view event.
According to PWInsider.com, former TNA star MVP is backstage at the venue in Houston, where he lives. Additionally, Stevie Ray, former Harlem Heat tag-team partner of Booker T, who also lives in the Houston area, is backstage as well.
As noted earlier this evening, Jericho is rumored to be the mystery partner for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in their six-man tag-team match against The Wyatt Family, however that is strictly a rumor at this point.
As reported earlier today, Kane is currently backstage at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, the site of tonight’s WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view, however he isn’t the only surprise name backstage at the show.
According to multiple sources, part-time WWE performer Chris Jericho is also backstage at the Toyota Center this evening.
There is no word yet as to what Jericho is doing backstage at the show, however there is some speculation that he could end up being the mystery partner for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in their six-man tag-team match tonight against The Wyatt Family.
– WWE posted the following video of The Dudley Boyz arriving to the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas for tonight’s WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view, where they will look to become ten-time tag-team champions by defeating The New Day.
– WWE also posted the following tweet to hype up the mystery tag-team partner of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose for their six-man battle against The Wyatt Family at tonight’s pay-per-view.
WWE Superstar Roman Reigns recently spoke with The Caller Times to promote this coming Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown television taping in Corpus Christi, Texas. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On his feud with The Wyatt Family: “I’m just trying to get out of the swamp. The goal is to take down this Wyatt Army. I don’t think it’s going to end any time soon. If the Wyatts keep adding people, then me and (Dean) Ambrose will continue to break heads.”
On feeling blessed: “You don’t really hear it enough, but I got to thank God for everything. I feel really blessed with the opportunities.”
On facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31: “Just the moment alone makes it the best opportunity (and) the best night I’ve ever had.”
Roman Reigns recently participated in a Q&A session at Wizard World Comic Con in San Jose, CA. Here are some highlights of what he said about:
His Dream Matches: “I’ve been in a couple of tag matches against Triple H. I would love to have a singles match with him. Let’s go completely different ends of the spectrum. I’ll fight Triple H or Kevin Owens.”
Facing The Rock One Day: “I think it would have to be a very big match, not just a regular match. There would have to be a title, something that we are trying to win. That way you have true competition, not just between each other, but for something. And I think the WWE Championship would be the best thing to put that on the line for.”
Main Eventing WrestleMania 31: “It’s something I will cherish for the rest of my life. If I never get another opportunity [to main event WrestleMania], deep down in my heart, I know that I did my thing, I represented, and I just hope that everybody sees that”.

WWE’s former head of security Jimmy Noonan recently appeared on the Wrestling Mayhem podcast and said somebody needs to be fired after the recent slew of incidents with fans getting involved at live events.
Over the past several weeks, all 3 former members of The Shield have had brushes with rowdy fans getting out of line:
Roman Reigns was hit in the head by Money In The Bank briefcase thrown by a fan at a live event (Video).
Dean Ambrose was nearly attacked by a fan who jumped the ringside barrier at the 8/5 Smackdown tapings before getting taken down by security (Video).
On the 9/7 edition of WWE RAW, a fan crashed the show and walked to the ring with WWE Champion Seth Rollins during his entrance (Video).
Noonan, who worked for WWE from 1999 to 2007, says he’s actually offended by the way WWE has handled the situation, “It’s getting embarrassing. I’m getting offended by it.” Noonan said. “You don’t get caught three times in one month. If you do, you’re fucking up. Somebody is messing up. Not shitting on WWE security, but somebody is making a mistake.”
Despite the incidents, Noonan doesn’t think WWE will take action against their security team.
“I think somebody should be fired. I think if you’re security and you mess up, you should be fired. Will they? Probably not.” He also said that there’s always a concern that someone who is armed with a knife or other weapon, or a legit fighter, would get in the ring and hurt one of the wrestlers. He said that the biggest fear was during the Austin era since it would do damage to his character if someone jumped in the ring and got the best of Austin.
Featured below is a video from a WWE SummerSlam signing in New York City where it appears that a handler at the event tries to rush a group of fans through before they get their autographs and photo-opportunity with Roman Reigns.
It was at this point that Reigns spoke up and stood up for the fans. Also featured below is a fan commenting on what happened, as well as Reigns’ response.
There has been some speculation that the current angle between Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose could potentially lead to a Reigns heel turn.
Since being promoted to the main roster, Reigns has been viewed as an obvious main event project, one that WWE has been carefully booking in specific ways pretty much since day one.
Lately, there has been speculation that Ambrose bringing Jimmy Uso into the fold for their battle against The Wyatt Family could lead to the Reigns heel turn, as Reigns would get upset that Ambrose brought his family, Uso, into a situation where he would get destroyed.
Whether or not this is the direction WWE is going remains to be seen, however there are many reasons why turning Reigns heel right now would make sense from a booking standpoint.
Originally, the man expected to fulfill the role as the third “mystery” member of the team of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to take on The Wyatt Family trio consisting of Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Braun Strowman, was “The Icon” Sting.
Instead, as noted in our original report, the leading candidate at this point as the mystery member of the Reigns-Ambrose team is none other than former Wyatt Family member Erick Rowan.
It should be noted that until further notice, this should be taken strictly as speculation at this point.

– As seen on this week’s edition of WWE SmackDown, The Wyatt Family vs. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose is set for this month’s WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view. The match will likely be made official on this coming Monday night’s edition of RAW. Below is a clip of the end of Thursday’s SmackDown which shows the match being mentioned.
WWE Superstar Roman Reigns recently spoke with Tallahassee.com to promote Sunday’s WWE live event in the city. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On his workout routine: “My workouts are all about moving a lot weight very fast. I’m old school. I do squats, Olympic lifts and heavy compound movements. I’m not the guy, who is going to be flipping a log 50 times. I have always trained for explosion and it shows in the ring.”
On the most painful thing to ever happen to him in the ring: “Anytime a grown man picks you up over his head with the intention of dropping it’s going to hurt. But if I had to pick one, it would be the time Big Show, who is over 7 feet, choke-slammed me out of the ring and through some tables. I threw up blood for a couple of days after that one.”
On who he would like to have a program with that culminates at WrestleMania: “No matter what I’m going to always want to take the belt of Rollins. He stole my moment and I’ll never forget what he did to me. It may look like my hands are full with the Wyatt’s, but Seth is always on my mind. I won’t feel complete until I pay him back.”
– Japanese wrestling superstar Kazuchika Okada, whose IWGP Title would probably be considered the number two world title in pro wrestling today, was backstage at WWE SummerSlam on Sunday night. Okada watched the show with Samoa Joe, who he was affiliated with fromm his TNA days.
– WWE posted the following video looking behind-the-scenes of Roman Reigns’ SummerSlam turf war.
WWE Superstar Roman Reigns recently spoke with AMNY.com to promote tonight’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On how it feels to team with Dean Ambrose again at SummerSlam: “It feels good to have small talk and inside jokes out there. And to be able to laugh and watch Ambrose do something crazy, watch him freak out and start destroying stuff. It’s such a good dynamic, I think it’s going to be a great matchup. Anytime you put some Shield boys in the ring with some Wyatt boys, it turns into some magic and some hectic craziness, so hopefully we don’t burn the whole building down in one night.”
On what other matches he’s excited to watch tonight: “To be honest, I’ve been so immersed in my feud, and my beef with Bray and Luke, and as you know, any time it becomes a family thing, all attention span is thrown out the window. I’m like an unleashed dog. I can’t focus. I just want to fight. I want to wrestle the Wyatts. I’ve got to be completely honest. Just right off the top of my head, I can say Brock [Lesnar] and [The Undertaker] is going to be the matchup of a lifetime. … I’ve been in the ring with both, even more so with Brock. I’d be extremely shocked if we didn’t see an epic match and one for the books.”
– WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair is in town for WWE SummerSlam weekend. Flair is there primarily to watch his daughter Charlotte wrestle at SummerSlam, and apparently other members of the Flair family are also in town for the show. Former WCW star David Flair is among those from the Flair family that made the trip.
– WWE taped the following matches for tonight’s edition of WWE SmackDown:
* Ryback vs. Big Show
* The New Day vs. Los Matadores and El Torito
* Neville vs. Bo Dallas
* Brie Bella vs. Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch
* Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Cesaro vs. Sheamus, Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Kevin Owens
– WWE posted the following video of Triple H looking at the new Ultimate Warrior book, “Ultimate Warrior: A Life Lived Forever.”
– As of this past Sunday, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns have worked the most matches so far in 2015 with each former Shield member having worked 136 matches each so far this year. Coming in at fourth is King Barrett with 127 and Cesaro at fifth with 122. Reigns has won 119 matches this year, while Ambrose has 88 wins. John Cena has won 93 of 99 matches so far in 2015.
– In the following video, a WWE 2K16 video game developer shows off the upgraded face import tool used in the “Create-A-Superstar” mode.
Roman Reigns appeared on The LAW: Live Audio Wrestling podcast this week to discuss SummerSlam, the past year of his career, the reaction he received at the Royal Rumble, matches with Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar and Big Show in 2015 and more.
Reigns said despite the fact that fans completely rejected his Royal Rumble win earlier this year, “it all happened for a reason.”
“In sports entertainment, professional wrestling, entertainment, storytelling, you can do anything, you can tell any story you want to. It’s difficult to say, especially within what we do, with hindsight. I think there is a lot of things we could have done or maybe thought about, but it is what it is, it really is. It all happened for a reason.”
“Bryan and myself were both hurt we were both coming back around similar times. 100% it didn’t help me coming back around the same time as Bryan, especially with everything he has gone though over the past year, year-and-a-half. People talk about getting through adversity and going through some tough stuff, the stuff that happened to Bryan, the ups and downs, I think everyone was rooting for him (Bryan), I was rooting for him. I still to this day root for him. I want to see Bryan back in a wrestling ring, tearing the house down with myself and all the rest of the boys.”
Reigns remains optimistic, having used the uncomfortable situation as a means of motivation. In hindsight, he’s thankful things turned out the way they did at the Royal Rumble and he relishes the opportunity to prove he’s deserving of being a WWE main eventer.
“It was just a tough situation, regardless of what happened or how we could have changed that night as far as responses, as far as having the crowd react properly to me, or how we wanted them to, it didn’t. But it helped me, it helped me grow, it left a huge impression on me, you know I thank Philly every day for that. You have to learn fast in this business and I’d like to think I’m doing that, but without that night, that was a huge kick in the ass, that lit a fire under me. If you’ve seen what I’ve done in the past six-months, I think you can tell Royal Rumble definitely helped me.”
– Longtime WWE executive producer Kevin Dunn was trending worldwide on Twitter earlier this week after online rumors spread claiming he was the one who ordered Randy Orton to make comments about Kevin Owens’ weight during RAW. The rumors turned out to not be true, as Dunn nor Vince McMahon had anything to do with it.
– Vince McMahon tweeted the following on Friday, congratulating John Cena and Roman Reigns for being included on DoSomething.org’s “Athletes Gone Good” list, which recognizes and appreciates their charitable efforts.
WWE Superstar Roman Reigns recently spoke with Sports Illustrated’s “Extra Mustard” blog to promote WWE’s “Answer The Call” charity auction. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On his respect and the WWE fanbase: “Our fanbase is so hardcore and smart, and knows the history. It’s almost like the underground in rap music. There is always the underground rapper people enjoy, and you want to see him come up. That’s kind of how it is in wrestling. There’s a lot of guys on the indies with the tight following from those hardcore fans, and this is that time for me to build to that respect and let people know I’m here to win, I’m here to kill it every single night.”
On his friendship with Daniel Bryan: “Bryan is the best. “If anybody says any different, they’re an idiot. You can learn anything from him. I got to work a lot with him with the Shield–that was like the band with those six man matches [against Bryan, Kane, and Ryback], we were doing those every night. So I had plenty of chemistry and experience with Bryan. He is such a journeyman with so much experience, and that’s a key ingredient to what we do–just logging in those man-hours. Bryan is a journeyman, and he’s one of the few that we have, with Seth and Dean also in that category. He’s just so smart. He has a great take on everything, and he doesn’t just think about his product. He thinks of the grand scheme of things in the WWE world, and he’s a privilege to be around, not only in the ring but also as a person. The last European tour was a great tour, sitting on the back of the bus with Bryan in a conversation for an hour-and-a-half covering everything under the sun–we talked about from evolution to lotions to how to treat swelling. He has so much knowledge on life. I feel very blessed to made a friend with Daniel Bryan.”
On what separates Paul Heyman from just about everyone else in wrestling: “It’s his knowledge, a lot of wisdom, and he’s got some cowboy to him, too. You can’t replace experience, and the time he’s logged in this business is irreplaceable. He’s seen damn near everything under the sun with what he’s done in front of and behind the camera. There’s so many different facets to this business–it’s not just hip tosses and body slams. This is chess, and in no way is it checkers, and I think that’s what sets him apart.”
