RAW Rating, WrestleMania 30 Location, Simmons-Rock, Eve

– Monday’s post-Elimination Chamber RAW Supershow drew a a 3.2 rating and averaged 4,629,000 viewers. The show did hours of 3.3 and 3.19.

– WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2012 inductee Ron Simmons appeared on the Busted Open radio show this week and said he’d love a role in one of The Rock’s movies. Simmons, who worked closely with The Rock when both men were members of the Nation of Domination stable, had this to say about The Rock’s success in Hollywood:

“As far as getting as big as he did, I don’t even think he knew he would get this big. I can say I am proud of him and the only thing I would like for him to do is offer Farooq a part in one of his movies. Let me be a stand in, I don’t even need a speech, just offer me something (laughing).”

– After an apparent heel turn on Monday’s RAW, WWE diva Eve is still scheduled to wrestle heel Divas champion Beth Phoenix at this weekend’s WWE live event from Ontario, Canada at the Citizens Business Bank Arena.

– With the recent announcement that WrestleMania 29 will take place from New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, it’s worth noting that WWE has still not decided on a location for the historic WrestleMania 30 event, which will take place in 2014.

The bidding deadline for potential WrestleMania 30 host cities is approaching soon.

Why Kharma Has Yet To Return, Simmons’ WWE HOF Inductor

— WWE has not followed up on Kharma’s appearance last month at the Royal Rumble because she hasn’t fully recovered from giving birth on December 31, 2011 and isn’t ready to work a full-time schedule. She competed in the Rumble Match because creative felt it would create a good story since it wasn’t expected.

— John “Bradshaw” Layfield inducting Ron Simmons into the WWE Hall of Fame is not official but it is the planned idea.

Layfield wrote Tuesday on Facebook in regards to inducting his longtime tag team partner, “As far as who is inducting Ron into the HOF-I would consider one of my greatest lifetime honors if I am chosen. However, it hasn’t been announced-SO, if I knew who was I couldn’t say. And, if I don’t know I couldn’t say either obviously. So, I wait on the announcement like everyone else.”

— The January 17, 2012 WWE SmackDown taping at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada drew 5,287 paying $214,735.

JBL Congratulates Ron Simmons For WWE HOF Induction (Video)

– JBL wrote the following on Twitter about former tag team partner and longtime friend Ron Simmons going into the WWE Hall of Fame this year:

“Words can’t describe how happy I am about my best friend and former tag team partner Ron Simmons going into HOF! Well deserved, CONGRATS!”

JBL then wrote this on Facebook when asked about who will induct Simmons:

“As far as who is inducting Ron into the HOF-I would consider one of my greatest lifetime honors if I am chosen. However, it hasn’t been announced-SO, if I knew who was I couldn’t say. And, if I don’t know I couldn’t say either obviously. So, I wait on the announcement like everyone else.

The main thing is not who is announcing or inducting Ron but that a great, great man is being put into the HOF-congrats to Ron, my best friend and former tag partner!!!”

Hell In A Cell At WM28, Live SmackDown Special, Simmons

– Triple H finally agreed to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania – on the condition that the Undertaker agreed on a stipulation – Hell in a Cell. Undertaker did not give a verbal response to the challenge, but showed smiled as he walked away from the ring.

– The main event of Tuesday’s live SmackDown special on SyFy will be WWE Champion CM Punk vs. World Heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan.

– Ron Simmons has been announced for the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2012.

Hall of Fame Announcement Planned For Raw, Lilian Recording

— Ron Simmons appeared on Busted Open Monday and stated WWE will announce his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame on tonight’s Raw.

It has been reported that John “Bradshaw” Layfield will induct his longtime tag team partner into the Hall.

— Ticketmaster.com is currently holding a pre-sale for the August 27, 2012 Raw Supershow at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The code is: WWERAW. Once the pre-sale concludes this week, tickets won’t go on sale until June 30.

— Lilian Garcia stated on Twitter that she’s in Chicago, Illinois today recording a new song with producer Oh, Hush!.

— The latest issue of WWE Magazine hits newsstands tomorrow. The issue will feature four different covers—The Undertaker, Triple H, John Cena and The Rock.

Former WCW Champion To Be Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame

Former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ron Simmons is slated to be inducted into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class in Miami, Florida. It has not been disclosed when the official announcement will be made.

Among his many accomplishments, Simmons held the WWE World Tag Team Championship three times with Bradshaw, the WCW World Tag Team Championship with Butch Reed as Doom and the WCW United States Tag Team Championship with Big Josh. However, his greatest achievement occurred on August 2, 1992, when Simmons became the first officially recognized African-American singles World Champion, defeating Big Van Vader for the WCW World Championship.

Other elite Superstars scheduled for induction on March 31, 2012 are Edge, The Four Horsemen (Arn Anderson, Ric Flair, Barry Windham, Tully Blanchard and JJ Dillon), Mil Mascaras and Mike Tyson.

CM Punk Missing Weekend Shows, Todd Grisham Leaves WWE

— CM Punk is en route to the United States after attending the Australian version of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Friday. Therefore, he isn’t scheduled for this weekend’s Raw live event tour.

The former WWE Champion was nominated for the “Best Baddie” award but lost to Australian radio and television personality Kyle Sandilands.

— Todd Grisham’s profile on WWE.com has been transferred from the SmackDown Superstars section to the Alumni section, thus finalizing his departure from the organization.

It was disclosed on the August 23, 2011 episode of NXT that Grisham, who handled play-by-play duties for the program, would be leaving WWE to pursue new interests—a job with ESPN.

— The October 7, 2011 episode of WWE Vintage Collection on Sky Sports featured the following matches: Barbarian vs. Meng (WCW Road Wild 1998), Doom vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (WCW Wrestle War 1991), Ron Simmons vs. Butch Reed (WCW SuperBrawl), Diesel vs. Shawn Michaels (In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies).

Bret Hart Criticizes WWE, NXT Diva Works SmackDown Show

— Bret Hart criticized WWE’s utilization of Drew McIntyre, who headlined last week’s episode of WWE Superstars against Chris Masters.

He wrote on Twitter, “I honestly can’t believe that the best way 2 utilize a talent like Drew McIntyre is 2 waste him on Superstars. Who’s genius is that? Idiot!”

— NXT Season 3 contestant AJ is on the road with the SmackDown brand this week. She worked last night’s SmackDown live event in Lake Charles, Louisiana, teaming with Natalya in a match against Rosa Mendes and Alicia Fox. Natalya made Mendes submit to the sharpshooter.

The bout marked as Fox’s first in-ring appearance since suffering a shoulder injury at the May 3 SmackDown taping.

— Ron Simmons celebrates his 53rd birthday today.

— Former WWE star Ron Simmons is backstage at tonight’s Raw taping in Tampa, Florida and expected to appear during the program.

— Sin Cara beat Tyson Kidd in a dark match prior to last night’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view telecast.

— Steve Austin is scheduled to appear at the USA Network’s Upfront presentation in New York City today

— WWE returns to the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson, Mississippi on August 26, 2011 and the Fed-Ex Forum in Memphis, Tennessee on August 27, 2011.

Names Under Consideration For WWE HOF, Plans For Pee Wee

— Among those discussed this past week for induction into the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame were Bill Goldberg, Lex Luger and Ron Simmons.

Also under consideration for induction into the Hall is that of the Four Horsemen. Company officials would prefer to induct the group as opposed to solely Arn Anderson. However, the group’s induction will likely hinge on whether Ric Flair re-signs with TNA Wrestling once his current contract expires early next year.

WWE also has strong interest in inducting Sting into the Hall of Fame, though his availability hinges on whether he re-signs with TNA Wrestling for 2011.

— WWE creative plans to have Pee Wee Herman and Superstars participate in “Pee Wee’s Playhouse” backstage segments when the comedian hosts Monday Night Raw on Nov. 1 in Nashville, Tennessee.

— The Sept. 14 Friday Night SmackDown television taping at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan drew 5,059 patrons paying $201,690.
