Bully Ray Thinks Becky Lynch Legitimately Upset Ronda Rousey On Twitter

We’re on the road to WrestleMania and the Twitter banter between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey is heating up. Despite winning this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble, WWE storylines have the Irish grappler without a match at WWE’s biggest show of the year. That isn’t stopping her from getting under Ronda Rousey’s skin.

Things got so heated this week that Ronda Rousey threatened to “Beat the living s**t” out of Becky Lynch the next time that she saw her. Ronda Rousey called out Becky Lynch for posting “fake” mugshot photos of herself, stemming from Lynch’s “arrest” this past Monday after Raw. Lynch told Rousey not to use the “f” word and told her to focus on getting good at being a pro wrestler instead of acting above it.

Rousey doubled down on her use of the “F” word, posted a photo of Becky Lynch’s dis-armher arm bar finisher with the caption, “F word? You mean “fake”? Fake like your non sensical BS ‘armbar’ that doesn’t even work and just looks like you’re holding the dick you wish you had?” Lynch responded with the following – and yes, that’s the face of Ronda Rousey’s husband, Travis Browne.

Lynch called out Ronda Rousey for going “Full Russo” on her. Rousey had enough and advised Lynch to lawyer up.

Their social media feud was a hot topic of conversation this week on the Busted Open Radio show on Sirius XM. Co-host Bully Ray knows the wrestling business inside and out and believes Rousey is legitimately disturbed by Becky Lynch’s trash talking.

“I think Ronda got so p*ssed off that Becky put the picture of the husband up there that she threw everything out the window,” he said. “Start using the word, start using her real name, basically, everybody is reading this and going, ‘Oh my God, is this real?’ So, Dave I ask you, is it?” Ray’s co-host Dave LaGreca then commented that he had no idea if the ‘beef’ between the two was legitimate. Bully Ray then responded by saying “that’s the beauty of it.”

Ronda Rousey: “I Really Love This Job. But I Don’t Need It At All”

Ronda Rousey is embroiled in a heated social media feud with Becky Lynch as she gears up to be part of a historic WrestleMania main event. Since Becky Lynch won the Women’s Royal Rumble, their rivalry has been one of the hottest angles in all of professional wrestling

On a recent installment of the Ronda on the Road YouTube series, Rousey made it clear that she loves being part of WWE, but has other options.

“The thing is, I love this job. I really love this job. But I don’t need it at all. Not in the least little bit.”

Rousey continued, “So the second I’m not happy, I reserve the right to walk out the door and live happily ever after with the love of my life.” Ronda’s next comments solidified that this was very much a speech ‘in character.’

“The Authority, so they are called in this company, are just used to bullying everyone around. And like I said, they give them just enough for them to live a lavish lifestyle, but still have to come back. I don’t.”

Rousey is currently scheduled to defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35.

Ronda Rousey Takes Shot At Becky Lynch Over Arrest

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has taken a shot at Becky Lynch over the latest angle in their feud on WWE programming. She knocked Lynch for her actions and sharing photos of her mugshots on Twitter.

https://twitter.com/BeckyLynchWWE/status/1100561278060429314

Rousey wrote, “That’s what I’m trying to do dumbass. You hobbling around trying to be a ginger crutch ninja and taking fake prison photos in the hallway isn’t helping”

The arrest angle was done after Natalya and Rousey defeated The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott & Sarah Logan) in a tag team match on Monday’s episode of RAW in Atlanta, GA. WWE officials sent Lynch down to the ring and was removed by Atlanta police after invading the show to attack the champion the women’s division on the red branded show.

The belief is that Lynch will still make history by being involved in the main event of WrestleMania 35 in April. She earned this title opportunity once she won the Women’s Royal Rumble Match at the pay-per-view event that took place in January.

Originally, Lynch was set to challenge Rousey for the RAW Women’s Title at WrestleMania 35 but things changed once she was suspended for 60 days by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon due to her storyline knee injury.

As of this writing, Charlotte Flair is still advertised to face Rousey at the biggest event of the year for WWE. However, it’s expected that WWE will change the match to a Triple Threat Match.

Lana Admits She Is “Salty” Regarding Ronda Rousey

In the wake of Lana taking to Twitter in order to call Ronda Rousey “overrated,” she has since launched a YouTube channel with Rusev. Her bitterness initially stemmed from being replaced on ‘Total Divas’ due to being “strongly disliked by the demographic” that watches the show.

Lana responded to a Tweet by Ruby Riott in the build-up to Riott’s matchup against Rousey at Elimination Chamber, jumping at the opportunity to get her anti-Rousey opinions in.

In a new video uploaded to her YouTube channel, she has continued her campaign, admitting that she is “salty” when it comes to Ronda Rousey.

“I’m just going to address the elephant in the room,” she said. “Yes, I’m very, very salty. B***h, you know I’m salty.”

“[…] I thought all you did was diss reality stars, diss the Bellas, and now you’re taking my spot on ‘Total Divas?’ Yes, I’m salty,” she exclaimed. “[…] I’m so furious. You know, I’m so proud of you Ronda for being the ‘Baddest Woman On The Planet,’ but you’re no reality star and guess the one thing you will never, ever, ever, ever, be? As entertaining as me.”

The video ends with a request for people to write into her and share what they are salty about to be featured in her “I’m Salty” series.

With the two women on separate brands, it’s unlikely that any of this will lead to a feud. So the question inevitably becomes: why is Lana doing this?

Ronda Rousey Meets With Power Ranger Following Elimination Chamber

Ronda Rousey wore Sonya Blade-inspired gear last night for her match with Ruby Riott. Rousey will be providing the voice of the Mortal Kombat character in the upcoming version of the game. She also met with Power Ranger, Jason David Frank, backstage at the show.

The Power Ranger took to social media to share his experience with the RAW Women’s Champion.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BuAbfLVnVnM/?utm_source=ig_embed

“It was very nice to talk to you,” Frank wrote. “I’m so glad to hear you’re a fan.. I am yours as well…Thanks for rocking the White Ranger at the Royal Rumble!! You said I inspired you to kick butt? You inspire the world, You are a real super hero!!”

Ronda Rousey In Mortal Kombat

“It’s a dream come true to be a part of the Mortal Kombat franchise that I grew up playing,” Rousey told media shortly after it was unveiled she would be part of the game. The game is set to be released on all major gaming consoles on April 23, 2019.

Ronda Rousey Retains RAW Women’s Title At WWE Elimination Chamber

Ronda Rousey has retained the WWE RAW Women’s Title. Rousey did just that when she beat Ruby Riott at the second pay-per-view event of the new year, Elimination Chamber, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Post-match, Rousey had a stare down with Charlotte Flair. Becky Lynch then walked out on crutches through the crowd. Lynch then attacks Flair with one of the crutches as Rousey just watches. This led to Lynch then attacking Rousey as well with the crutch until the referees came out with security to break things up.

Two week’s ago on an episode of Monday Night RAW in Portland, OR at the Moda Center on the USA Network, Rousey took out her frustrations on The Riott Squad by making Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan tap out to the Armbar in back-to-back matchups. As a result, Riott is looking to get her revenge.

It’s possible that WWE books a rematch or perhaps gives her another challenger as it would be a one-off program considering her match at the biggest event of the year for the WWE, WrestleMania 35. Rousey is slated to defend her RAW Women’s Title against Becky Lynch at this show in April.

Rousey’s in-ring debut took place at WrestleMania 34 in a mixed tag team match with Kurt Angle as her partner, against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Since then, she has been pushed as WWE top star in the RAW Women’s Division and one of the biggest talents that the company has under contract.

What are your thoughts on Rousey retaining the title? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

Ruby Riott Sends Warning To Ronda Rousey

Ruby Riott is gearing up to the biggest match thus far in her career with the WWE.

The Monday Night RAW star is slated to challenge for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey at this Sunday’s Elimination Chamber Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event on WWE’s streaming service, WWE Network.

WWE’s official Twitter account sent out the following video of Riott sending a warning to the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

This is where Riott stated that fans think they know how this will go and what the first-ever WrestleMania headlined by women is going to be. She knows the fans think it will involve Rousey against Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch.

“It has to be headlined by Ronda Rousey because she’s carried the women’s evolution on her back as far as she’s concerned. But I have news for ya.” Riott made it known that they ’re not just involved in the women’s evolution, the Riott Squad is the women’s evolution.

She added that they are the change this division needs and vowed that the entire Riott Squad are going to leave the Elimination Chamber PPV as champions then walk out those doors on the road the WrestleMania.

Ronda Rousey Names Her Ideal Partner To Challenge For WWE Women’s Tag Titles

“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey is set to defend her RAW Women’s Championship against challenger Ruby Riott this Sunday. However, she is already looking to the future — a fact her opponent has taken issue with.

Rousey is also slated for a potentially history-making matchup at April’s WrestleMania event. However, these marquee matches haven’t stopped her from eyeing up other trophies to add to her list of accolades.

Posting a video to her YouTube channel, Ronda Rousey hosted a post-RAW Q&A session. During this interaction, she revealed who she would like to tag with in pursuit of the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

That woman? Natalya.

“I Want It All”

Ronda admitted that “[…] I’m disappointed that me and Nattie aren’t even in the running for the tag titles at the moment. I understand there’s a lot going on right now, but I understand there’s a lot of other teams that are much more established than ours, y’know.”

“There’s, like, a part of me, the competitor, and the Olympian: ‘I want it all, I wanna do it as best as possible, I want to do everything.’

But there are so many women in this company that have been doing so much extraordinary work for so many years and really, really deserve a shot at those titles to be the first-evers. I would be very honored to be, if not the first challenger that they have with Nattie, then later down the line, and hopefully, we can be champions at some point.”

Ronda Rousey & Ruby Riott Trade Shots On Twitter

Ruby Riott will take on Ronda Rousey for a chance to win the RAW Women’s Championship Sunday at Elimination Chamber. She recently expressed on Twitter that Rousey is looking past their upcoming match.

To which Rousey replied:

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt4FKOMHNBO/?utm_source=ig_embed

Charlotte Flair chimed in with a Tweet as well. “I’ve been saying ‘Flair/Rousey’, but let me make something VERY clear,” Flair said. “Ruby Riott is as tough as they come, and that squad of hers will do ANYTHING to get gold around her waist. If Ronda is focused on Mania, Ruby is going to leave Elimination Chamber with that title.”

Ronda Rousey vs Ruby Riott – Elimination Chamber

Riott and Rousey have met once in single’s action before. Rousey defeated Riott on the October 1st RAW. Rousey teamed with the Bellas twice to defeat the Riott Squad as well.

Riott then followed up Rousey’s response with the following:

Lana Has Some Harsh Words For “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey

With the news breaking that “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey might be joining the cast of ‘Total Divas,’ it was bound to garner a reaction. Considering that Lana and Rusev have been axed from the show for being “strongly disliked by the demographic,” you’ve suddenly got yourself the start of a potentially personal feud — despite the fact it’s actually Sonya Deville who is replacing Lana’s spot on the show.

Taking chagrin with the shakeup to the ‘Total Divas’ casting lineup, Lana took to her social media. Responding to Ronda’s Elimination Chamber challenger, Ruby Riott, Lana would proceed to call Rowsey “overrated,” stating that she “can’t bring ratings.”

Ruby Riott was initially responding to a Tweet by Rousey, where she would say:

“Who cares about what’s best for business or what these people want?! You’re so focused on giving the #WomensEvolution what they deserve, that you’re not even looking at #EliminationChamber. So I’ll gladly take your title & main event #Wrestlemania whether they like it or not.”

It would at this point that Lana would insert herself into the conversation:

“I would be thrilled if you took her place ! So overrated she is ! I mean she claims to change the game yet she can’t bring ratings …. soooo ummm”

Given that Lana isn’t even on the same brand as Raw’s Ronda Rousey, it would appear unlikely she is harnessing Twitter to foreshadow a feud in the way that talent has done for, say, a Four Horsewomen confrontation.

What do you think? Is this just bitterness on Lana’s part? Does she have a point?

Ronda Rousey Reportedly Joining Total Divas Cast

Ronda Rousey: Total Diva?

Production is underway for the ninth season of Total Divas, WWE’s hit reality series on the E! Network. Earlier this week, Lana revealed that she and Rusev have been removed from the cast for being “strongly disliked” by the show’s viewers.

Following Tuesday’s SmackDown Live, Sonya Deville called into Afterbuzz’s SmackDown After Show and revealed she is joining the cast this coming season. Deville said she’s “super excited” about the opportunity, because “I have been through things and I am the person I am for a lot of reasons and I love sharing those stories for the fans because it’s relatable.”

According to SquaredCircleSirens, RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will also be part of Total Divas season 9. WWE and Rousey have yet to confirm her involvement, but Total Divas cameras have been filming at the Browsey Acres farm over the past several weeks.

Browsey Acres is a farm owned by Ronda Rousey and husband Travis Browne. Ronda Rousey’s official website gives the following description of the farm:

“Browsey Acres farm is Far, far away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood lies Ronda Rousey’s dirt road paradise. Browsey Acres is a sustainable ranch home that radiates love and probably smells a little bit. Okay, it definitely smells. It’s populated with a cast of colorful animal characters with their own little lives and daily adventures. From the IPA-chugging bull to the goat who likes to burp in mouths, you can meet them all right here.”

Ruby Riott Says She’s Being Overlooked At Elimination Chamber

Ruby Riott is upset many are looking past her match with Ronda Rousey at the Elimination Chamber PPV this weekend. Much of the focus of WWE programming as of late has revolved around who Rousey will defend the title against at Mania, all but assuming she’ll get by Riott on Sunday.

Ruby Riott took to Twitter to voice her concerns recently.

In the Tweet, Riott claims she’ll be main eventing WrestleMania this year along with Charlotte Flair.

Ruby Riott vs Ronda Rousey – Elimination Chamber

The match between Rousey and Riott was made last week following Rousey defeating the other two members of Riott Squad RAW. Ruby was the only member of the team not to get in the ring with Rousey that night.

Rousey and Riott have met in single’s action once before, however. Rousey defeated Riott on the October 1st, 2018 show. They’ve also faced each other several times in tag-team action. The Bella Twins teamed with Rousey to defeat the Riott squad twice. The first time was at Super Show-Down in Australia and the second was two nights later on RAW.

In a dark match from this week’s RAW, Rousey again defeated the Riott Squad in tag action. Rousey teamed with Ember Moon, Natalya, and the Boss N Hug Connection to defeat the Riott Squad, Nia Jax, & Tamina.

Ronda Rousey: Vince McMahon Robbed The Women’s Evolution

Ronda Rousey believes the Women’s Evolution was robbed. The alleged offense took place last night when Vince McMahon replaced Becky Lynch with Charlotte Flair in the WrestleMania 35 main event.

Rousey issued a response to the decision recently. The reigning RAW Women’s Championship made her feelings known on Instagram.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BtyTGVPHQuy/?utm_source=ig_twitter_share&igshid=ggpolj7myd65

Becky Lynch also took to social media in reaction to Vince McMahon’s announcement. Lynch referred to the match announcement as “complete and utter bulls**t”.

“Take your apology, and shove it up your arse.” – Becky Lynch, RAW 2/11/19

Charlotte Flair Responds

7x WWE Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair, also reacted to news she’ll be wrestling Ronda Rousey at Mania. She took to Twitter to fend off some who are critical of her replacing Becky Lynch in the Mania main event.

“Wow, I didn’t realize that so many of you didn’t want me in the match. Taking that into account, I’ll be asking management to remove me effectively immediately,” Flair Tweeted. “J/K I could not possibly care less what you think.”

Ronda Rousey Vs Ruby Riott Scheduled For Elimination Chamber

Ronda Rousey will look to defend her RAW Women’s Championship at Elimination Chamber against Ruby Riott. The event takes place Sunday, February 17th, 2019 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Riott was the one member of the Riott Squad who Rousey did not submit on last Monday night’s RAW.

“Will the “unbreakable bond” between the nefarious faction help Riott conquer the unrelenting Rousey and forge her own path into The Showdown of the Immortals?” A WWE press release for the match reads. “Find out at WWE Elimination Chamber, Sunday, Feb. 17, at 7 ET/4 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.”

Ronda Rousey vs Ruby Riott – Elimination Chamber 2019

Riott Squad member, Liv Morgan, noted on Twitter that every member of their faction will have a chance at a championship at Elimination Chamber.

The Riott Squad made their debut in the same venue the PPV will be held in.

Rousey will look to defend her title for the 8th consecutive time on WWE programming (i.e not including house shows). Since winning the title at SummerSlam, she has defended it against Alexa Bliss, Nikki Bella, Mickie James, Nia Jax, Natalya, Sasha Banks, and Bayley.

Also in Rousey news, she’s marketing a line of “Ice & Advil” T-shirts with a portion of proceeds going to charity:

Ronda Rousey Helping Open Suicide Prevention Center

Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey is helping to open up a new suicide prevention center in Los Angeles.

The center is a part of the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services and is set to open on 22 February. Rousey was present at the launch event and TMZ Sports spoke with her about her involvement in the building of the center.

Rousey, along with Melissa Rivers, who was also present at the event, talked about eliminating the stigma attached with mental health issues, so that it will be easier for people to get help.

My message that I would give is reach out don’t tough it out,” Ronda told TMZ Sports.

Mental health awareness is something that Rousey has beeen involved with for years – she lost her own father and grandfather to suicide.

She has worked with Hirsch for a long time and has been the recipient of the group’s Erasing the Stigma Leadership Award in 2014.

Ronda Rousey Says Becky Lynch ‘Needs Her’ To Main Event WrestleMania

Shortly after winning the Women’s Royal Rumble, Becky Lynch confirmed that she would be challenging Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

Since then the two WWE Superstars have been trading barbs via social media. Becky Lynch recently wrote that “Enough though I’ve had just 6 singles PPV matches since my WWE debut (Ronnie has 7) – I’ve changed this whole damn business. Overrated? The Man is underrated af.”

Rousey responded to this by saying that “Unlike you I don’t give a damn about my reputation or how I’m rated. You claim you’re carrying the @WWE, but all you do is cut promos about me, give interviews about me, and tweet me…you need me to have a real chance to get that main event spot at WrestleMania and you know it.”

Update: Becky Lynch has since replied:

WrestleMania 35 Main Event

There’s been speculation that Rousey and Lynch would be headlining the show. There has also been plans within WWE to add Charlotte Flair to the match and make it a Triple Threat for the title.

Last month Becky Lynch spoke to AZ Central regarding some fans calling her ‘overrated.’ Lynch stated “I keep hearing now that I’m ‘overrated,’ I don’t think I even know what that really means. Does it mean that I’m not what you think I should be? I’m working my [rear] off and delivering what I say and get a reaction every single time. What does that mean? Of course, it’s only from a few loud people. And that’s naturally gonna happen as you rise up the ranks.”

Jim Ross Praises Raw Segment

Given his stature and length of service in the wrestling industry, it might be tempting to paint Jim Ross as something of a curmudgeon.

Whether it be his take on WWE creative or the in-ring product, JR certainly holds what might be considered old school views.

But if you listen to The Jim Ross Report weekly, you also know that Good Ol’ JR does not hold back his praise for the modern WWE product when he believes it is warranted.

Ross expresses that sentiment on this week’s show when discussing the Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch faceoff from Raw on Monday.

“I don’t think I have ever heard a more intense or memorable segment than the verbal interaction, the verbal sparring, between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch,” said Ross.

That’s right, the announcer who provided the soundtrack to the Attitude Era ranks the Rousey and Lynch segment right at the top of his list.

“Becky Lynch cut a strong-ass promo, and Ronda Rousey trumped it,” said Ross.

“I didn’t think she was memorizing or reciting someone else’s lines that they wrote at their little laptop. It felt real to me.”

Ross also praised Rousey for recovering after the audience threw her off her promo game.

“The audience hijacked Ronda and knocked her off her game for a few minutes. I’ll never understand that, quite frankly,” said Ross.

“They hijacked the interview, and she miraculously recovered to rebut Becky Lynch.”

“That was an amazing segment.”

Report: WWE To Close WrestleMania 35 With Lynch vs. Rousey

Becky Lynch’s well-received victory at the Royal Rumble earlier this week and the segment between her and Ronda Rousey on the following Raw made it clear that fans are behind this feud and they would love to see a one on one match between the two.

While the reports suggested that the company is planning to add Charlotte Flair to this bout later on, it appears that these two mentioned segments have made the official decide otherwise.

In the latest edition of their Week in Wrestling column, Sports Illustrated provided an update on the WrestleMania main event, revealing that the company is planning to close the show with the Raw Women’s Championship match:

“The picture for WrestleMania 35 is far clearer today than it was a week ago. With only 67 days until the event, sources close to WWE have told Sports Illustrated that the current plan is to close WrestleMania 35 with the Ronda Rousey-Becky Lynch match as the main event.”

This leaves Charlotte in an interesting spot as it’s not very likely that she will be left out of the WrestleMania card. So it’d be interesting to see what backup plans the company has for her and who the Queen ends up facing at the show.

Mark Henry Discusses Reason He Believes Fans Are Turning On Ronda Rousey

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry sounded off WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey during a recent episode of Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio and had some interesting things to say.

It all started once he brought up how she falls under the same category as Michael Jordan as she is great, but as a result, she suffers from the greatness hate and that people are hating on her for being good at what she does. He knows that there will be people that have animosity against her due to her earning a level of respect that most of us will never see

“Ronda’s getting the level of attention and the level of greatness that people will never ever see.”

Henry continued by bringing up how even the best won’t see that kind of stuff due to there being only a few Muhammad Ali’s or Jordan’s. He thinks that for somebody to hate that means they’re jealous or not understanding of what greatness looks like up close.

Fans were against Rousey during her segment with Becky Lynch on this past Monday’s episode of RAW where they set up their match at WrestleMania 35 in April.

Lynch Rips Rousey Promo, Heyman Praises Lio Rush

Lynch Rips Rousey Promo

On this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Women’s Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch confirmed her WrestleMania intentions. She will be challenging RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35. Lynch interrupted Rousey and Bayley after their RAW Women’s Title bout. However, it looks like a big change could be coming to that match.

Rousey struggled in her promo early on, as the crowd was giving her a hard time. WWE sent Bayley out early to begin their match. Afterward, Lynch came out and went face-to-face with “The Rowdy One.” They jawed off at one another before the segment came to an end. Earlier today (Tues. January 29, 2019) Rousey took to Instagram and issued out a message to Lynch:

“One big difference between me and you @beckylynchwwe – everything you said last night was fantasy make believe. And every word out of my mouth was a fact. ”

https://www.instagram.com/p/BtOZvNAnhm0/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_medium=loading

Lynch responded by taking a shot at Rousey’s botched promo:

“No, I believe you’re a killer, Ronnie. You were murdering that whole segment until The Man bailed you out.”

https://twitter.com/BeckyLynchWWE/status/1090290526241345539

Heyman Praises Lio Rush

Also on RAW this week, Lio Rush took shots at Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and Finn Balor, on behalf of his client, Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley. He followed up on Twitter by once again calling Lesnar and Balor out:

“Just so we’re clear…..Bobby > Brock on any given day. That little twerp Finn wouldn’t stand a chance in hell against

https://twitter.com/itsLioRush/status/1090092056536469504

Heyman responded by praising Rush, saying he has a huge future ahead of him. However, he also pointed out that he spelled Lashley’s moniker wrong:

“I like . He has a huge future. Tremendous talent, super young, only going to get better and better and better. But if you’re going to call out on behalf of your client, at least spell your own client’s nickname correctly. IT’S ON YOUR SHIRT, LIO!”

Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey Set For WrestleMania 35

After months of speculation, WWE has made the one match that fans have been waiting to see and that’s WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey taking on Becky Lynch in a one-on-one contest.

WWE made this official during Monday’s episode of RAW in Phoenix, AZ after Rousey had successfully retained her title over Bayley once issuing an open challenge. Following the contest, Lynch walked out where she made her selection known and then they exchanged words. Lynch earned this opportunity by winning the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble Match.

This is the second time that WWE had planned to book this match. The then-SmackDown Women’s Champion was pulled from her scheduled champion vs. champion match against Rousey at Survivor Series in November. She suffered a broken nose and concussion during the RAW invasion angle after getting punched out by Nia Jax that saw Lynch suffer a “broken face” and concussion.

Her replacement would be Charlotte Flair who ended up facing Rousey in a non-title match at Survivor Series once Lynch picked Flair during an in-ring segment.

WrestleMania 35 is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 7, 2019, in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium. This event airs on pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE Network.

Ronda Rousey Retains RAW Women’s Title At WWE Royal Rumble

Ronda Rousey has retained the WWE RAW Women’s Title. Rousey did just that when she beat Sasha Banks at the first pay-per-view event of the new year, Royal Rumble, in Phoenix, Arizona at Chase Field.

Banks earned this title opportunity once she beat Nia Jax back on the January 7th episode of Monday Night RAW in a #1 contender’s match. It all started when Rousey appeared on Alexa Bliss’ new show, “A Moment of Bliss”. This was when she noted that she wanted to face Banks next. Instead, Jax interrupted and made the demand for a rematch against Rousey.

Time will tell whether WWE continues this feud or goes into a different direction heading into the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event that takes place on February 17, 2019 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. It’s possible that they make a Triple Threat Match involving Jax.

Ronda Rousey Fires Back at Report That She’s Leaving WWE Soon

Ronda Rousey is keeping her private life private and that includes any plans she might have for starting a family with her husband Travis Browne.

The reigning WWE RAW women’s champion fired back at a report that surfaced earlier this week from the Wrestling Observer that suggested Rousey could be leaving WWE after a year with the company with plans to start a family in the very near future.

Additional reports stated that Rousey could stick around WWE after WrestleMania but work a drastically reduced schedule similar to other part-time superstars like The Undertaker or John Cena.

It’s no secret that Rousey has said numerous times in the past that she wanted to have children with her husband but she’s not going to talk to anybody about the timing of when that will happen.

Rousey fired back at that report with a statement released through ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne, who is a regular collaborator with the former UFC women’s champion.

“I honestly don’t know why [anyone] feels like [they’re] an authority to speak on the plans for my uterus,” Rousey said. “If I responded every single time the world speculated what I was doing with my womb I would not have a free moment in the day.

“I really don’t feel like I should have to respond to that kind of thing. It’s my vagina, my life, keep the speculations to yourself. Leave me and my reproductive organs alone.”

Obviously Rousey didn’t flat out deny that she might be leaving WWE or possibly working a reduced scheduled after WrestleMania but she certainly isn’t going to justify rumors based around her private life.

It’s worth noting that Rousey has spoken (extensively) about her plans to start a family. Back in 2015, she told Fox Sports, “I’m an ovarian goldmine. I can’t waste these genes.” Last year, she told ESPN, “[Husband Travis Browne and I] had a set timeline set, and now we aren’t so sure about it because I love [WWE] so much,” she said. “I guess that’s the best thing that could’ve happened, that I would love it so much it would be so hard to stop.”

Rousey is scheduled to defend her RAW women’s title this Sunday at the Royal Rumble where she takes on Sasha Banks in one of the featured bouts on the card.

There are high expectations for Rousey to take part in one of the main matches at WrestleMania 35 including a potential and long awaited showdown with Smackdown women’s superstar Becky Lynch.

What Rousey’s plans are after WrestleMania remain a mystery but if she’s taking time off to start a family, she made it clear that she’ll be the one to make that announcement and no one else.

“I’ve not kept it a secret that I would definitely want to start a family,” Rousey said. “But how do you go about doing that? I love this way more than I thought that I would. So do you just keep going until you just happen to get pregnant? Or should you stop and go try and get pregnant? Or is going and trying to get pregnant putting yourself on the spot and then you’re less likely to get pregnant? I’ve never had a baby before, I don’t know these kinds of things.

“It would be kind of cool to just keep acting and then one day, ‘Hey, surprise twist, I’m pregnant.’ That would be fun. There’s a lot of things up in the air. A lot of decisions that we’ve gotta make as a family. I’m trying to figure it out as I go along.”

Jim Ross Defends Ronda Rousey’s Promo Work

Jim Ross defends Ronda Rousey’s promo work on this week’s Jim Ross Report.

The Raw Women’s Champion delivered a backstage promo before her main event tag match on Raw this week that has become something of a lightning rod among internet wrestling fans.

Some believe that Rousey may have botched the segment with rushed delivery. Others believe that the lack of polish on the interview added an authentic feel to the Rousey and Sasha Banks feud.

Count Good Ol’ JR among the latter group.

Jim Ross Defends Ronda Rousey’s Promo Work

“I liked the Ronda Rousey promo, I know some didn’t,” said Ross. “I did. It felt real. It felt credible. I didn’t feel like she was BS-ing me.”

Ross used the promo as a launching point to a larger discussion on scripted promos in wrestling.

“I didn’t feel like she was reciting some writer’s lines,” Ross said. “There’s a big issue right now. The trend is moving towards fans sometimes being more over-sensitive than they need to be on promos. Scripted promos are not good.”

“They’re just not good unless the personality, the talent, has the innate ability to take someone else’s copy and organically make it theirs,” said Ross. “Those that can’t pull it off expose the ugly side of the business that we are all living in right now. Everything’s got to be over-produced, seemingly, and there’s not enough individuality in these characters. That individuality used to make them bigger than life.”

Jim Ross On The Future Of Wrestling

Ross then went a step further, intimating that the future of the business depends on moving away from scripting and over-production.

“You can’t erase individuality from creative in pro wrestling,” said Ross. “It will not survive, it will not survive.”
