Charlotte Discusses Who She Wants To Face At WrestleMania 34

Charlotte has recently been preoccupied with The Riot Squad On SmackDown Live, teaming up with Becky Lynch and Naomi to battle for control of the women’s division on Tuesday nights.

The SmackDown Live champion has also teamed up with Bobby Roode for the Mixed Match Challenge:

But when it comes to WrestleMania, Charlotte has one opponent on her mind as she appeared on Conversations With Maria Menounos.

Charlotte said that she wants to be the one to break Asuka’s streak.  They’ve never faced each other and believes the clash of background, cultures, and styles makes it the perfect WrestleMania moment.

On being questioned “why not Ronda Rousey?” Charlotte said “She has to pay for her dues first to face me!”

However she then explained whether the rest of the women on the roster are happy to be working with Rousey:

“Oh, they should be. Ronda’s a star and an attraction and with her coming to be a part of the women’s division, obviously it brings more eyes on the women’s division, not just our audience. I mean, people that don’t even watch wrestling, they know who Ronda Rousey is. They’re like, ‘oh she’s on WWE, oh let’s tune in for a second.’ So I think that’s huge. But, you know, we’re on the road 265 days a year and you just can’t call yourself a WWE Superstar. So the easiest thing she’ll do is sign a contract. Whether she’s willing to put in that work, that’s where the respect and understanding our culture and what it means to be a star in our industry… we’ll see how the future plays out. “

Charlotte stated that she, and the rest of the locker room, is more than happy to take Ronda under her wing if the opportunity presented itself.

And from one professional to another, Charlotte offered the following words of advice:

“It doesn’t matter how athletic you are… It’s about being a performer and eliciting a reaction from the crowd. The best superstars are the ones who can have an emotional connection, whether positive or negative, with their audience. And that’s what makes the greats, great.”

During the interview, Charlotte also touched on her relationship with her father’s career and that she wasn’t aware of just how much of a success he was/is in the industry.

“I didn’t really know about his legacy. That’s what’s crazy. People are like, ‘well, your Dad was Ric Flair, you must have grown up around the business.’ Yes, I went to my Dad’s matches, but I was always playing sports and I just wasn’t really into, I don’t know, the celebrity scene. It’s when I started, that’s when I started to learn, wow, my Dad means a lot to a lot of people in this industry and I started to understand his choices. Now being a part of a company, now I get it. The feel you get when you walk on stage, in front of 101,000 people, there’s nothing like it. Being able to control an arena full of emotions, now I understand. And then the road life becomes your family.”

You can catch the whole interview in the video underneath.

Discussion:

It feels as though Charlotte’s road to WrestleMania hasn’t been put in place yet.  In fact, it almost seems as though Charlotte may feature on the kick-off show against Ruby Riot.  Even if Carmella cashes in her Money In The Bank contract, WrestleMania 34 doesn’t look that exciting for The Queen of SmackDown Live, with her dream WrestleMania moment likely to take place in 2019.

Former WWE Superstar Critical Over Handling Of Ronda Rousey

Monday night’s RAW saw the first appearance of Ronda Rousey in a WWE ring since she signed her contract on Sunday’s Elimination Chamber PPV.

The contract signing did not go to plan as Stephanie McMahon slapped Rousey after her husband, Triple H, was thrown through a table.

The following night, Rousey confronted RAW’s commissioner and her husband to demand an apology.  Stephanie squared up to the newly signed WWE superstar and looked Rousey in the eyes as she apologised for Sunday’s actions.  Triple H however was not as sorry, as he showed Kurt Angle who’s in charge, leaving Kurt Angle on the mat after a surprise punch.  Ronda stayed in the ring to check on Angle while Stephanie and Triple H left.

However one former WWE superstar has given their own opinion and shared a critical view on the recent events and introduction of Ronda Rousey to the WWE Universe.

“They take the most credible female they have in the history of the WWE, and second impression of her, and they made her look bad already”

On his radio show, Taz stated that the way Stephanie reacted on RAW made Rousey look weak.  In a previous interview with ESPN Roman Reigns said that the savagery of Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey in UFC makes them more threatening and dangerous in WWE, but Taz thinks that WWE creative has missed its mark.

“She should have went after Stephanie like she wanted to kill her […] I’m talking about legitimate police officers there holding her back, two or three or them, something. A couple of the boys, somebody. Someone needed to stop her and [keep her away]. Stephanie should have been terrified of her. Absolutely freakin’ terrified of her. But instead, Stephanie got in her face and apologized. When the girl, Ronda, demanded an apology, Stephanie had to get the upper hand and look down at her and say: ‘I’m sorry.’ That sucked! That sucked. Build the girl and get her over. She’s legit! She’s legit. What [WWE] did, sucked. Sucked!”

Taz shared the same opinion of Kurt Angle’s work on RAW as well, repeating that the segment ‘sucked’.  Taz also said that he didn’t ‘give a sh*t’ if he wasn’t placed in the WWE Hall of Fame either.

The former WWE superstar and commentator explained that Ronda Rousey should have been introduced as ‘the killer that she is’ and that the segment needed to end with Stephanie in an armbar that only Triple H could stop.  Taz explained that Stephanie isn’t a good worker, in promos or in the ring, and that standing face-to-face with Rousey showed the height difference, making Rousey look submissive and weak; not the qualities you want in a heavily invested asset.

Opinion:

I understand what Taz is saying, but at the same time Ronda Rousey is being put in a face position, not following in Brock Lesnar’s shadow or being made out as the female Brock Lesnar.  WWE and Rousey will want her to be her own individual, not a copy of anyone that’s come before.

Ronda Rousey Comments On Triple H’s Sucker Punch To Kurt Angle, What Happened After RAW?, John Cena On His Undertaker WrestleMania Challenge

– On last night’s closing segment of Monday Night RAW; Ronda Rousey, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Kurt Angle attempted to clear the air from their incident at Elimination Chamber. Angle was pressured into admitting that he lied about Triple H and Stephanie’s comments regarding Rousey. Angle apologized and Stephanie apologized to Rousey for slapping Rousey at Elimination Chamber after she put Triple H through a table.

Before Triple H and Stephanie left the ring, however, “The Game” hit Angle with a punch (that actually missed) and knocked him down. Rousey tended to Angle as RAW went off air. “The Rowdy One” took to Twitter to comment on Triple H’s sucker punch on Angle:

– The dark main event of Monday Night RAW after the show went off air on the USA Network featured John Cena and Roman Reigns teaming against RAW Tag Team Champions The Bar. Reigns and Cena won the match, however, The Bar retained the titles. There was said to be a lot of comedy and mic work during the bout.

– As we’ve noted, John Cena teased a WrestleMania match with The Undertaker this April before stating that match is “impossible.” Check out the segment via WWE’s Twitter here:

Ronda Rousey Reacts To Signing Her RAW Contract, Seth Rollins On Not Getting The Job Done At Elimination Chamber

– Last night at WWE’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV) event, Ronda Rousey returned to WWE TV to sign her RAW contract. She was joined in the ring by WWE COO Triple H, RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle.

Angle then revealed some brash comments Triple H and McMahon made about Rousey, leading to “The Rowdy One” putting “The Game” through a table. Rousey recently took to Twitter to react to her rocky contract signing:

– Seth Rollins came up short in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match last night after being eliminated by Braun Strowman. The winner of the match would go on to WrestleMania 34 to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title. Rollins’ Shield brother, Roman Reigns, wound up winning the match after hitting Strowman with a few Spears to eliminate him last. Rollins took to Twitter to comment on not getting the job done inside of the structure:

Fan Gets Arrested At Elimination Chamber During Ronda Rousey Segment (Video), Braun Strowman Breaks Record Inside The Chamber

– You may have noticed that the crowd in Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena seemed a little distracted during Ronda Rousey’s RAW contract signing at the WWE’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV). It turns out that a fan was actually arrested by security in the crowd after a fight broke out. You can check out the video of a fan being arrested by security, and a fan’s explanation of what happened on Twitter here below:

– Although he didn’t emerge victorious from the match, Braun Strowman put on quite the performance inside the Men’s Elimination Chamber match last night. “The Monster Among Men” eliminated every competitor from the match – except for the bout’s eventual winner, Roman Reigns. It looks like Strowman actually broke a record in his losing effort last night. He now holds the record for most eliminations in an Elimination Chamber match in WWE history:

More Information On WWE’s Plans For Ronda Rousey Heading Into WrestleMania 34

On last night’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV) former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey made her return to WWE TV. Rousey made her WWE debut last month after the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match. She came out to the ring to confront Rumble winner Asuka, RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, and SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Rousey pointed at the WrestleMania 34 sign and indicated her intentions to wrestle at the event.

After finishing up a film project she was working on in Columbia, Rousey returned to WWE TV in Las Vegas last night to sign her RAW contract. She was joined by WWE COO Triple H, RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle. Things got ugly when Rousey found out Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s true feelings about “The Rowdy One,” thanks to some comments from Kurt Angle. Rousey ended up putting Triple H through a table and eating a slap from Stephanie. McMahon retreated from the ring before Rousey could retaliate.

For the past several months its been rumored that Rousey will be teaming with a mystery partner against the team of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34. The Rock was originally WWE’s top pick to partner with Rousey, however, after yesterday’s segment it seems like WWE is going with Kurt Angle instead. PWInsider reports that the company is looking to book Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon for “The Showcase Of The Immortals.”

To add to that, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that WWE is attempting to book Rousey and McMahon’s feud similar to the way “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Vince McMahon’s storyline was put together – a baby face going up against a heel authoritative figure. It should be interesting to see how this plays out as we lead up to WrestleMania in April from New Orleans.

Stephanie McMahon Addresses Ronda Rousey, Big Segment Announced For WWE RAW

Stephanie McMahon, Triple H and Kurt Angle were all present during Ronda Rousey’s contract signing during the PPV. Things were going swimmingly until Kurt Angle brought up how Triple H and Stephanie had been claiming that they only brought Ronda Rousey to WWE so that they could manipulate her. Angle claimed that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were still pissed off about what went down at WrestleMania 31 with Ronda Rousey and The Rock. Rousey wound up throwing Triple H through a table tonight at the PPV. Stephanie then slapped Ronda and then retreated backstage. Rousey signed her WWE contract and flipped it onto Triple H who was lying on the canvas.

Following the Elimination Chamber PPV, RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon joined Renne Young and Peter Rosenberg on RAW Talk. Stephanie stated that things got out of hand tonight and that RAW GM Kurt Angle needs to apologize tomorrow night on RAW. Stephanie noted that Rousey got swept up in the emotions of the evening and has some explaining to do tomorrow night.

Stephanie added that she is Rousey and Angle’s boss and that she just has to remind them of their roles in WWE. Stephanie stated that she needed to educate Rousey a little bit and smooth out some of those rough edges. Stephanie claimed that she still proud that that WWE signed Rousey. Renee Young asked if she had spoken to Rousey since she slapped her in the face and Stephanie said that she has not. Stephanie spoke about the first-ever RAW Women’s Elimination Chamber match tonight and said that she was proud of all the women that competed in the match.

Ronda Rousey Takes Out Triple H At WWE Elimination Chamber, Signs Contract (Photos, Videos)

Ronda Rousey signed her RAW contract at tonight’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in a segment that also featured RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Triple H confirmed during the segment that Rousey will be wrestling at WrestleMania 34. Angle ended up telling Rousey that Triple H and Stephanie have been plotting to keep her down in WWE due to how she embarrassed them at WrestleMania 31. Triple H tried to hush up Angle as he kept spilling their secrets but this backfired as Rousey slammed Triple H through the contract signing table. This led to Stephanie slapping Rousey and retreating before Rousey could get her hands on her.

As we’ve noted, the plan has been for Triple H and Stephanie to face Rousey and a partner at WrestleMania 34. Rumors on Rousey’s partner include The Rock, Angle, Seth Rollins and SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon.

Below are photos and videos from tonight’s segment:

Ronda Rousey At WWE Performance Center (Photos), Greg Valentine Battling Illness

– Ronda Rousey was training at the WWE Performance Center last week. Rousey’s personal photographer, Michael Mardones, posted some photos of her visit on Instagram, which reveal that she trained with Sara Del Rey, Norman Smiley, Shayna Baszler, Peyton Royce, Vanessa Borne, Wesley Blake, Steve Cutler, and MMA fighter Jessamyn Duke.

– WWE Hall of Famer Greg “The Hammer” Valentine was forced to miss an independent wrestling show on Saturday in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada due to illness.

The former Intercontinental Championship was scheduled to appear at Canadian Wrestling’s Elite “Legends Of Wrestling and Professional Sports Convention 2,” but his wife told CWE officials that he became “violently ill” on Wednesday.

The company said in a statement on Thursday, “It is with great sadness CWE management has to report that we were contacted by Julie Valentine, the wife of Greg Valentine informing us that Greg became violently ill last night and was hopeful he would be feeling better before his flight this evening but is in need of medical attention and will not be able to attend this weekend’s CWE Legends Of Wrestling & Professional Sports Convention 2 in Winnipeg.”

This led to Ron Simmons reaching out to D’Lo Brown to appear at the convention in place of Valentine.

Ronda Rousey Returns To WWE Performance Center

Ronda Rousey is scheduled to sign her RAW contract at Elimination Chamber on pay-per-view (PPV) this weekend. “The Rowdy One” made her WWE debut at the Royal Rumble last month following the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match. She made her way to the ring to confront Rumble winner Asuka, RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, and SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.

After having her extended hand smacked away by Asuka, Rousey pointed to the WrestleMania 34 sign – indicating her intentions to wrestle at the event. Recently Rousey finished up filming her latest project in Columbia. She has now returned to the WWE Performance Center and has been working there this past Monday and Tuesday to prepare for her in-ring debut. Rousey was also at WWE’s Headquarters in Stanford, Connecticut on Wednesday.

It’s expected that Rousey will kick off her WrestleMania 34 feud this weekend at Elimination Chamber during her contract signing. Recent reports suggest WWE is eying a Mixed Tag Team match between Rousey and a mystery partner against the team of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Ideally WWE would like for Rousey’s partner to be The Rock. Other names being considered are WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle, SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon, and Seth Rollins.

Paul Heyman On Lesnar’s UFC Future, Rousey-WWE, Next “Heyman Guy”

TMZ Sports caught up with Paul Heyman this week, who commented on the possibility of Brock Lesnar returning to UFC, if he would advocate for Ronda Rousey in WWE and who he’s eyeing as the next Paul Heyman Guy (or gal).

This Sunday at Elimination Chamber, 7 of RAW’s top Superstars will battle to determine who will challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania. In the months following WM34, it’s rumored that Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract will expire and he’ll be free to fight for the UFC again, if that’s something he’s interested in.

When asked if we’ll see Brock step inside the Octagon again, Paul Heyman said Brock Lesnar will do whatever he wants to do. Lensar’s last UFC fight took place back in July 2016. TMZ’s reporter questioned if two years away from fighting would work against The Beast. Heyman argues the contrary.

“The time away makes him better because the time away gives his body a chance to heal,” Heyman proclaimed. “The problem with these UFC fighters – and they’re all fantastic athletes, top of the line in the entire world – is that they wear their bodies down in these training camps. All these guys that are cutting weight are destroying their own bodies.”

Many fans have speculated that Paul Heyman would make a great mouthpiece for Ronda Rousey. It’s an intriguing prospect, but Heyman doesn’t sound like he’s eyeing Rousey as his next client. “Why limit the people that I have my eye on to Ronda Rousey?” Heyman questioned. “I have my eye on anyone who is a top box office attraction. I have my eye on Enes Kanter of the New York Knicks.”

Heyman definitely sees potential in Enes Kanter, who he’s dubbed “The Baddest Dude In The NBA.” The 6-foot-11 Knicks center couldn’t be happier to be dubbed the latest Paul Heyman Guy.

Nia Jax On Ronda Rousey Joining WWE, Needing To Show Respect In The Locker Room

WWE Superstar Nia Jax recently did an interview with Dave LaGreca and Mark Henry on Busted Open Radio yesterday. During the interview Jax was asked about her thoughts on former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey signing with WWE. Jax said she’s excited for Rousey coming to WWE and claimed she’s a big part of the women’s revolution:

“I’m very excited. Ronda Rousey was a huge part in the women’s revolution around the world and part of the WWE and now she’s coming to the WWE. It’s going to be absolutely amazing. She’s so talented and has so many things to bring to us. It’s literally going to expand the women’s division and people don’t realize how much she’s going to bring to us and how far it’s going to take us. I personally am very excited for her to come. She’s willing to put in the hard work.

“I’ve seen her put in the hard work in the UFC and how hard she worked to get to where she got. I know she’s going to prove herself in the WWE. I’m very excited to step in the ring with her and see what we can do together. I have nothing but positive things to say for anyone who wants to come to the WWE because it is not an easy place to get into and not an easy place to get through, so if you feel like you can make it here and get through, I say welcome. Let’s do it.”

When Rousey does finally get to the WWE locker room, however, Jax said that the former Olympic Judoka needs to show respect:

“Respect is #1 in this business. You definitely have to walk into the door with a lot of respect: a lot of eye contact, a lot of handshakes, introducing yourself. We are a very tight-knit family at WWE. We are very protective of our family. When an outsider comes in, you want to make sure the outsider is worthy to step into the family. When Sasha Banks says she had nothing nice to say (on a previous episode of Busted Open), it’s not necessarily that she wants to go out and be mean, but rather making sure that this outsider is worthy to step into her family.”

Jax revealed that John Cena vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 28 was her inspiration for becoming a professional wrestler:

“I got to sit front row with my aunt and watch Dwayne and just see the energy not just in the ring, but the fans. At the end of the day, they are what make us who we are, and just seeing their energy and passion that they had watching that match is what gave me the bug. I said ‘oh my god, I want to do this. I want to put on a great match and I want these people to be interested in what I’m doing’.”

She also explained how impressed she was with Seth Rollins’ recent performance in the Seven-Man Gauntlet match on Monday Night RAW:

“I was standing by Gorilla staring at the screen just watching and these guys were putting on an amazing show. Seth Rollins, I think, tore the house down. All of them did, but Seth outdid everyone. Seth has always been such a great athlete. You’ve always seen that since he’s been on the road, but watching last night made me a bigger fan of his. It was really cool. I almost forgot I was on the show!”

Becky Lynch Reveals How She Feels About WWE Signing Ronda Rousey

WWE Superstar Becky Lynch recently did an interview with The Phoenix New Times to promote tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live. Below are some of the highlights:

Have the wrestlers in the woman’s division had to work harder to prove yourselves? Maybe twice as hard as the male superstars.

“I think so, yeah. You know what I mean? I think when you’re trying to overcome something and prove something, you always have to work harder and you always have to give that 110 percent. And I think the greatest thing about that is that’s the drive from all of us. So nobody rests on their laurels and nobody becomes complacent because everybody’s trying to be the best.

“But everybody’s trying to be that first woman to main-event WrestleManina. And any time you’ve got healthy competition, it always pushed you harder and I think that was the greatest thing with the Four Horsewomen. What we did is we came together while at NXT at the same time and we have a common goal and a common vision and that’s to strive to be the best and change things and change the way things work and I think that was what coached us all so much. We always just wanted to outdo each other.”

What’s your opinion about the WWE bringing in Ronda Rousey?

“So I think there’s a lot of good aspects, and I think that Ronda Rousey has obviously proven that she’s a superstar. Like, a colossal superstar. Before her, there were no women in the UFC. That’s remarkable. And she was an Olympian, and she brings in pay-per-view buys. There’s no doubt that she’s amazing.

“I’m curious to see what she can do in a wrestling ring, because it’s a different kettle of fish. And, obviously, with UFC and with such an incredible history and being so accomplished in judo, she’s going to take up everything so easily. So it’s just going to be a matter of seeing how she does in this business. I know she’s a huge wrestling fan so that’s always great, too. I think you learn better and you learn faster when you’re a fan because you know what it’s supposed to be and you’re able to emulate your heroes and stuff like that.”

Do you want to face off against her in a match?

“Of course, I would love to. There’s nobody that I wouldn’t want to either fight or wrestle. Any girl who comes in the door, I want to have a match with them and bring the best out of them and make a good, compelling story for our audience. There’s nobody I wouldn’t want to fight.”

Heyman Responds To Graves’ Lesnar Remarks, WWE Rousey Video

– Paul Heyman took to Twitter to respond to RAW commentator Corey Graves’ comments on last night’s show, and doubled down on his claim that Universal Champion Brock Lesnar does not fear Braun Strowman. Strowman will be one of seven men to compete in this weekend’s Elimination Chamber match; which also includes Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Elias, The Miz, and John Cena. The winner of the match will go on to challenge “The Beast” for the Universal Title at WrestleMania 34:

– WWE posted a video of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey as she prepares to sign her RAW contract at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV) this weekend on the WWE Network. The video features comments from Stephanie McMahon and Charlotte Flair, as well as some footage from Rousey’s professional wrestling training. Check it out:

Al Snow On What Ronda Rousey Is Going To Need In WWE

Former WWE Superstar and IMPACT Wrestling talent Al Snow was recently interviewed by The Roman Show at Coastal Championship Wrestling’s (CCW) recent “Breaking Chains” event. Snow discussed his time with WWE’s old developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), and what it was like working with the female talents:

“When we were doing the developmental in OVW the women, which were Beth Phoenix, ODB, Katie Burchill and a lot of those women carried the show and were the main event. In fact, we had the first ever women’s ladder match in OVW in Louisville, Kentucky for WWE developmental between Beth Phoenix and Katie Burchill. They tore the house down. It was more than often than not that the women carried the show. The women can be as strong as an attraction if done in the right manner if treated respectfully.

“The most important, and this isn’t a sexist thing, if the women continue to be women – meaning they don’t become guys with boobs – that they can perform wrestle like a man, act professionally like a man, legitimately like a man, but maintain their feminine quality so they can relate to the men and women in the public.”

Snow was asked about former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey signing with WWE, and said she’s going to need a lot more charisma in professional wrestling than she did in mixed martial arts (MMA):

“It takes a very special person to work the opposite. If she’s capable of taking the charisma she had in MMA, she’ll need ten times the charisma in the WWE. I trained mixed martial artists King Mo and Dan Severn. Both will tell you [like] King Mo, ‘I don’t know how these guys do it. I would rather much prepare for a fight than train pro wrestling because physically there’s much more demand’.”

The former WWE Hardcore Champion also has a new clothing brand out, Collar and Elbow. Here’s what he had to say about it:

“I wanted to create a brand for wrestling. At the time, I didn’t know there was one for wrestling. Ultimately the biggest fans of wrestling are wrestlers. You have to be such a fan of wrestling. There’s nothing wrong being a fan of wrestling. The problem is the general public if you wear a wrestling shirt and identify as a wrestling fan, they get the usual ‘you like that? That’s fake.’ They don’t want to wear it.”

Randy Orton Comments on Ronda Rousey in WWE

Randy Orton isn’t hopping aboard the Ronda Rousey hype train just yet. Not until she steps in the ring, at least that is.

TMZ reporters caught up with Orton at an airport recently and asked him about the former UFC bantamweight champion joining WWE.

Randy Orton on Ronda Rousey in WWE

At first, Orton gave his normal sarcastic blowoff to the reporter, stating he doesn’t watch Raw because he’s a Smackdown guy. He eventually did give a serious answer to the reporter, however.

“Based on what she’s accomplished, I would say she has a good chance to become one of the top female wrestlers eventually but she has a long way to go.”

The reporter continued to ask if he thought Rousey could one day become a Hulk Hogan type figure in wrestling.

“There’s no way to tell”, Orton responded. Orton then asked when Rousey was scheduled to sign her contract and stated we will all found out how she does from that day forward.

Four Rumored Partners For Ronda Rousey At WrestleMania 34

Ronda Rousey’s in-ring debut for WWE is expected to take place at WrestleMania 34. Reported plans have Rousey teaming with a mystery partner against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Sports Illustrated is reporting that there are four names that WWE is currently considering to partner with Rousey at “The Show Of Shows.”

Those names, in order of WWE’s preference, are The Rock, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon, and Seth Rollins. It’s also possible that top WWE officials already know who Rousey’s partner will be. WWE would like for The Rock to partner with Rousey as a way to continue on from the foursome’s encounter at WrestleMania 31. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more…

WWE’s Statement On Ronda Rousey Signing WWE Deal, Paige Talks Absolution Being In The Women’s Elimination Chamber Match (Video)

– As RAW General Manager Kurt Angle noted last night, Ronda Rousey will sign her RAW contract at Elimination Chamber. WWE released the following statement on the news:

Ronda Rousey’s official Raw Contract Signing to take place at WWE Elimination Chamber

The squared circle is about to get rowdy! WWE Elimination Chamber will not only feature the first-ever Women’s Elimination Chamber Match, but it will also mark the official entry of iconic mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey into WWE as a Raw Superstar.

The former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion instantly made headlines following the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match at last month’s groundbreaking pay-per-view, walking to the ring to confront winner Asuka, SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte and Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. Without saying a word, she pointed directly to the WrestleMania sign looming in the rafters to signal that she intended to make a splash on The Grandest Stage of Then All.

According to a story published by ESPN.com following Rousey’s appearance, the former MMA star has reportedly come to terms with WWE to be a full-time Superstar.

“This is my life now. First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt,” Rousey said. “When I first met with Triple H, I told him, ‘There are other things I can do with my time that’ll make way more money, but I won’t enjoy nearly as much.'”

Rousey’s new life kicks off at WWE Elimination Chamber, but when you consider the chaotic nature of contract-signings in WWE, as well as all the attention that Rousey’s arrival has been garnishing in the WWE Universe and in the locker room, one has to wonder whether the special moment will indeed end in bedlam.

Don’t miss a moment of the historic night, featuring the Men’s and the first-ever Women’s Elimination Chamber Matches, Sunday, Feb. 25, at 8 ET/5 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.

– WWE posted a video of Mike Rome interviewing Absolution’s Paige, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville. This came after Sonya and Mandy’s victory over Alexa Bliss and Mickie James on RAW. Paige then interrupted and explained how both Sonya and Mandy have the advantage heading into the Chamber. Check it out:

AJ Styles: Ronda Rousey Could Be The Next Kurt Angle In WWE

TMZ caught up with WWE Champion AJ Styles over the weekend and asked him about Ronda Rousey joining the promotion. Styles, widely considered one of the top pro wrestlers in the world, has high expectations for Rousey inside the squared circle. Notably, he compared Rousey to Kurt Angle, who made the jump from Olympic wrestling to WWE back in 1998.

“Let me tell you about someone who came in kinda like Ronda did and learned [snaps fingers] like that,” Styles said. “Kurt Angle! I don’t know if you remember Kurt coming in like that and went straight to the top.”

Styles put over Rousey’s athletic credentials, claiming that she’ll be a quick learner who has the potential to learn pro wrestling like Angle famously did during his rookie year.

“Now he was an Olympic Champion but he didn’t have the name recognition that Ronda has. Ronda though, she’s an athlete man. She can adapt, that’s what she does. She’ll learn quick. She’ll be a sponge. She will be up there with the Kurt Angles and everyone else that has gone into the Hall of Fame.”

The Phenomenal One named Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks as opponents he’d like to see Ronda Rousey work with You can check out Styles’ comments about Ronda Rousey joining WWE here:

Charlotte Flair Responds To Ronda Rousey Question, MVP On His RAW 25 Appearance

– SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair was asked by a fan on Twitter if she’d face-off against Ronda Rousey ‘if she had to.’ Here’s how she responded:

– A lot of former WWE Superstars and personalities returned to the company for RAW 25. One was former United States Champion MVP. He recently was a guest on Big League Wrestling’s podcast to talk about his return to WWE and indicated that it was a one-time deal and there are no plans as of this writing to have him back:

“By and far and away I was the sharpest dressed poker player in the building. At the end of the day I made a very nice pay day to show up in a suit, play cards, say hi to my friends, no bumps I win. It makes me laugh because people were like congratulations on going to RAW. Congratulations for what? It’s a date. I’m going to work, it’s a one off. Thanks I guess. not that big a deal. For me. With all due respect.”

WWE Reportedly Using Ronda Rousey To Elevate Stephanie McMahon’s Mainstream Status

The hot topic in the professional wrestling world at the moment is the WWE’s signing of Ronda Rousey to a full-time deal. Rousey made her debut at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV) following the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble. She pointed to the WrestleMania 34 sign, indicating her intentions to wrestle at the event.

Per a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, one “key reason” WWE brought the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion in is to help Stephanie McMahon become a bigger mainstream name. While McMahon is a big name in the world of professional wrestling, she isn’t as well known outside the context of WWE. Meltzer noted that although she didn’t fight in 2017, Rousey was still the most searched female athlete in the U.S last year.

The entire goal for a Rousey-Stephanie program is to help elevate McMahon’s mainstream star status outside of the company. The goal was compared to that of how Vince McMahon’s name was made – through his feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin. And Austin’s rise in mainstream media came with the help of his feud with Mike Tyson.

This explains why WWE is planning a Mixed Tag Team match between Rousey and a mystery partner (WWE hopes that can be The Rock) against the team of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34.

Shayna Baszler On Ronda Rousey In WWE, Rusev Doesn’t Want To Work On “Rusev Day”

– WWE recently released a video of Shayna Baszler, one of Ronda Rousey’s best friends, commenting on “The Rowdy One’s” WWE debut at the Royal Rumble. Baszler said she was just as surprised as everyone else, as Rousey kept it a secret from her friends because she wanted them to feel the same genuine excitement everyone else did. Baszler also noted that she believes Rousey will be just as dominant in WWE as she has been in everything else:

– SmackDown Live star Rusev was asked by a fan to bless his newborn baby, who just so happened to be born on “Rusev Day.” “The Bulgarian Brute” did in fact bless the child before responding to another fan, who asked Rusev to talk to his boss because he’s making him work on “Rusev Day.” Rusev said that his boss does the same thing:
