Ronda Rousey Named ‘Most Abused Female Athlete on Twitter’

Ronda Rousey is currently a babyface on WWE television, but that hasn’t stopped wrestling and sports fans from directing negativity toward her on social media.

According to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, an independent study of abuse on women’s athletes noted that Rousey is the most abused female athlete on Twitter. This distinction was based on her receiving the highest percentage tweets classified as negative.

Becky Lynch was also on the list, coming in at third place. However, Lynch is currently portraying a heel on WWE television and plays into that role on her social media as well, so some of that makes sense. Lynch actually received a higher total number of negative tweets, but Rousey’s percentage was higher.

The study looked at the overall abuse that names such as Sha’Carri Richardson, Simone Biles, Naomi Osaka, Megan Rapinoe, Claressa Shields, Emma Raducanu, Paiage Spiranac and Serena Williams have received on Twitter. The study was done in conjunction with International Women’s Day. In terms of negativity percentage, Biles came in second place behind Rousey and just ahead of Lynch.

Rousey made her return to WWE at the Royal Rumble event in St. Louis back in January, winning the Rumble match to earn a championship opportunity at WrestleMania. She will face Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38 in Arlington, Texas.

Ronda Rousey Recalls Wanting to Curse Out WWE Fans

Ronda Rousey is opening up about her adversarial relationship with the WWE Universe.

On the latest episode of Ronda on the Road, Rousey spoke candidly about her departure from WWE in 2019 and her recent return.

Rousey made history at WrestleMania 35 when she, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair became the first women to headline a WrestleMania. Unfortunately “shattered” a knuckle in her hand during the match. She was also extremely discouraged with WWE fans

“Everyone was booing me out of the stadium,” Rousey recalls. “I was just like, man, fuck these people, I can’t wait to go home.”

She added, “When I left WWE, I had been getting booed out of the stadium, like, every day for months.”

“Do I stay true to myself and tell them to go fuck themselves?”

– Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey has portrayed a babyface character for the majority of her time in WWE. However, she’s found it difficult to play the hero when fans have rejected her so forcefully.

“I think one of the most uncomfortable and disingenuous I’ve ever felt was when I had to be a babyface and the crowd was being hostile towards me and I couldn’t just tell them exactly what I fucking felt,” she said.

“I was stuck between, do I stay true to myself and tell them to go fuck themselves, or do I, you know, respect Vince who has done so much for me, and not go against what he wants me to do?”

When she’s had the chance to act like a heel, she’s loved it, because she could finally be herself.

Advice from Paul Heyman & Vince McMahon

Despite some unpleasantness, she really missed wrestling during her time away. She wanted to return, but knew fans might still harbor some animosity towards her.

When Rousey returned at the Royal Rumble, she admits she was “super defensive.” At Raw after the Rumble, she was ready for fans to troll her into oblivion. She expected them to heckle her and bring signs with hurtful messages directed at her.

During her promo at the post-Rumble Raw, Ronda Rousey seemed agitated. Backstage after her segment, Paul Heyman pulled her aside and told her Vince McMahon was going to tell her one thing: she has to smile. She met with Vince and thats exactly what he said. “That was fantastic, you just need to smile.”

She told Vince the fans were booing her out of the building toward the end of her first run. Vince told her, “Yeah, but they’ve forgiven you for that.” She said she hasn’t forgiven the fans yet, but Vince told her it’s not about her, it’s about the fans.

She’s taken these words to heart and now has a more-balanced outlook on her relationship with WWE fans.

Ronda Rousey will challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38.

Ronda Rousey Will Have Crazy Stipulation at Elimination Chamber

Ronda Rousey will wrestle her second match since returning to WWE last month at the Royal Rumble when she travels to Saudi Arabia this Saturday for Elimination Chamber. Rousey will team with Naomi to take on Charlotte Flair and and Sonya Deville.

But the story gets a little crazier from there.

According to a report from PWInsider, a stipulation will be added to the match during this Friday’s taped edition of WWE SmackDown. That stipulation? Rousey will have to wrestle the match with one hand tied behind her back.

This week’s SmackDown was taped last week in New Orleans due to the WWE travel schedule to get to Saudi Arabia in time for this weekend’s big event. You have may have seen the widely circulated fan video of Flair taking a slow motion bump into a table during a contract signing during the taping. It was a bit awkward, to say the least.

Rousey is set to take on Charlotte Flair for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38; she used her Royal Rumble match victory to be positioned in that match. What will be interesting is whether or not WWE uses the stipulation at Elimination Chamber to actually beat her, with a built in excuse, before WrestleMania.

In a WWE Digital Exclusive backstage interview after last week’s SmackDown, Rousey alleged that she could defeat Deville with one hand tied behind her back — clearly planting the seeds for what is to be revealed about the new stipulation for this match on SmackDown this week.

After being asked if she’s worried about Deville, Rousey said, “Worried about Sonya? No, I could beat Sonya with one hand tied behind my back. She’s the last of my worries.”

Mark Henry Shares Advice On How Ronda Rousey Can Embrace Babyface Role In WWE

Mark Henry believes it’s possible for Ronda Rousey to better embrace her babyface role.

Rousey has seemingly had a love-hate relationship with fans dating back to her days in the UFC. “Rowdy” often doesn’t take too kindly to jeers from crowds, which doesn’t bode well for her as a face.

Advice For Rousey

WWE has tried to spruce up Rousey’s babyface persona by using artificial crowd noise. During an episode of Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry suggested a different approach.

“What can be done is you can start slowly intergrading her into doing the babyface things. You can have her do the community involvement and the association of being around the kids.

“She’s a mom now. She’s gotta make statements, ‘Hey, I gotta be better. I have to be better. I gotta be a better example for my family, for my daughter. I have to be a better example for the fans. I have to be a better example for the other women in pro wrestling.’

“Now, that tells me, ‘Okay, this person is on the nicer side of things.’ You have to keep her moving with a trajectory of positivity and success.”

Ronda has admitted that trash talk from fans has thrown her for a loop in the past. Rousey is set to challenge Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at this year’s WrestleMania event.

Charlotte has been positioned as a top heel in WWE. It’ll be interesting to see how WWE handles Rousey’s promos throughout the buildup of this title match.

Do you think Ronda Rousey should be a full-blown babyface or a tweener?

Botch from Pre-Taped SmackDown Goes Viral

Next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown has already been taped in advance, as the company will be heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Elimination Chamber on Saturday 19th February.

One of the segments that were taped for next week’s show saw Naomi, Sonya Deville, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey take part in what appears to be a contract signing for their match at the Elimination Chamber show.

Unfortunately, there was an extremely noticeable botch during the segment, when Rousey tried to slam Flair’s head on the desk in the middle of the ring.

SmackDown Botch

As you can see via the tweet below, the execution of the spot was horrendous, and it has since been going viral on Twitter.

It’s extremely likely that WWE will edit the segment as much as possible to avoid this going out on television next week, but with this fan cam footage, we can see just how bad the spot really was live.

Hopefully, the match between the four women at the Elimination Chamber PPV event itself won’t be quite so botchtastic.

Here is the current card for the Elimination Chamber 2022 event:

  • WWE Champion Elimination Chamber Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins vs. Austin Theory vs. Riddle vs. AJ Styles vs. Bobby Lashley ©
  • WWE Raw Women’s Championship Number #1 Contender’s Elimination Chamber Match:  Doudrop vs. Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Nikki A.S.H. vs. Bianca Belair vs. TBA – The winner will receive a WrestleMania 38 title match for the WWE Raw Women’s Title.
  • Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg
  • Raw Women’s Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs WWE Hall of Famer Lita
  • SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (c) vs The Viking Raiders
  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair & Sonya Deville vs. Ronda Rousey & Naomi
  • Madcap Moss vs. Drew McIntyre

Reported Plans For Ronda Rousey At WWE Elimination Chamber

WWE is quickly approaching the Elimination Chamber event and the card is nearly complete as the company has already announced the top matches for it. However, one match that has yet to be revealed features Ronda Rousey.

WWE is airing a live episode of SmackDown tonight (February 11) and also taping next week’s show that will air on February 18 as the talent and crew will be making the long trip to Saudi Arabia ahead of the show on February 19.

Fightful Select reports a big tag team match is scheduled to be added to the Elimination Chamber lineup as the current plans call for the opening segment of the February 18th edition of SmackDown to be an announcement that a women’s tag team match between Ronda Rousey and Naomi taking on Charlotte Flair & Sonya Deville will take place at WWE’s next premium live event.

On this week’s show, Naomi is scheduled to take on Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Rousey made her return at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in St Louis, Missouri by being a surprise entrant in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. And winning the bout to earn the right to challenge Flair for the title at WrestleMania 38.

Ronda Rousey Says She Takes Trash-Talking From Fans Personally

Ronda Rousey recently spoke on why she sometimes takes trash-talking from fans personally. Comments by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio suggested that Rousey is bitter towards the fans for having turned on her previously in WWE.

Rousey stated on her Facebook gaming stream that even though she is playing a character on television, she’s still Ronda Rousey and it’s hard not to take some comments personally.

“It’s hard not to take [trash talk] personally from the fans because I don’t go out there as — I mean I do go out there as a character, but I am also actually Ronda Rousey, so I don’t play Ronda Rousey on television. So sometimes I take it personally from the fans, not so much from the wrestlers. The fans, I do,” she said.

Rousey also commented on why she is wearing different gear than she did during her first run with the company. She said that after having had a baby only four months ago, she’s not ready to wear her old gear just yet.

“Well, I just had a baby four months ago and I didn’t really feel confident enough to don my regular wrestling gear yet but I’m working towards it… because you know, it’s hard when you’re coming back and being judged directly to how you looked three years ago,” Rousey said.

Rousey also spoke about wanting to team with Shayna Baszler now that she’s back and Baszler is on the main roster. She is scheduled to team against Baszler at a Laval house show next month. Rousey is booked to team with Sasha Banks to go up against Charlotte Flair and Baszler.

Ronda Rousey “Very Bitter” About Returning To WWE (Report)

WWE has encouraged Ronda Rousey to act less like a heel after a prickly appearance on last week’s Monday Night Raw.

After winning the 2022 Royal Rumble, Rousey expressed frustration with WWE fans by stating she “fall for” the fans reaction again. When asked about how she felt about winning the Royal Rumble, she said she’ll be going home to love her baby, because her priorities have changed.

She also said, “There was quite a reaction tonight, and you can expect me not to fall for it this time.” Some saw Rousey’s demeanor as a sign that she will be portraying a heel character in WWE, but that’s not the case.

Rousey’s hot-and-cold relationship with the WWE Universe was apparent again on last week’s Monday Night Raw. As seen below, WWE “sweetened” the crowd reaction for her promo. WWE fans on social media took notice.

Ronda Rousey’s Rocky Return to WWE

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Rousey really is bitter towards the fans for having turned on her previously.

WWE officials reportedly asked Ronda Rousey to “let go” the fact that fans have given her mixed reactions in the past. She appeared to take this advice in stride, as we saw on Friday’s SmackDown.

“She was very, very bitter coming back, and I think that was not a good attitude to have, especially considering she’s being portrayed as a babyface,” Meltzer said.

It was also noted that Ronda is happy to be back in WWE, just not overly happy with how the fans treated her previously.

“It was explained (to Rousey) that you have to let that (fans turning on her last time) go because if you’re going to be bitter about that…” Meltzer continued. “You’re not supposed to be a heel & if you’re bitter at the fans you’re not going to be a very good babyface.”

On Friday’s SmackDown, Rousey was visibly in a better mood and acting much happier to be there. During the appearance, she revealed that she’s chosen SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair as her WrestleMania opponent.

Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair Confirmed For WWE WrestleMania 38

Ronda Rousey will indeed challenge Charlotte Flair for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 38 after she made her return at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in St Louis, Missouri by being a surprise entrant in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

She won the match and earned this title shot. After teasing going after Becky Lynch’s Raw Women’s Title on this past Monday’s Raw, she said she would make her announcement on Friday Night SmackDown this week and that’s exactly what happened.

However, WWE did try to swerve fans by having Sonya Deville announce Rousey had chosen Lynch and Flair stated that she would face Sasha Banks at WrestleMania. However, Rousey came out to the ring and said that the last time she checked, she got to pick her opponent. She said she plans to teach her daughter the family business of kicking ass and Flair is just one of many who she owes an ass kicking.

Rousey said Flair isn’t lucky, but just first and she would see her at WrestleMania. She tossed the microphone at Flair, who said that her title is her baby and it’s prettier than Rousey’s child. Rousey attacked like she was about to throw down with Flair. Sonya tried to tell her to back off, but Rousey picked her up and hit a samoan drop before locking in the armbar while staring at Flair.

WWE will once again leverage two if its biggest box office attractions to ensure WrestleMania 39 shatters records.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is planning for The Rock to be part of a blockbuster double main event at next year’s show of shows.

If all goes as planned, the top matches for WrestleMania will see The Rock battle his cousin Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey clashing with Becky Lynch.

The idea is to lead to the biggest WrestleMania ever in 2023 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, with Reigns vs. The Rock and Becky Lynch vs. Rousey”

– Wrestling Observer Newsletter (February 7, 2022)

The Rock vs. Roman Reigns is arguably the biggest match WWE could present at this time. If they can get The Rock to sign on for WrestleMania 39, there’s no question this show will do record business. Both men have spoken publicly about wrestling one another. You can read their most recent comments in the links below:

Ronda Rousey returned to WWE last month and won the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match. Her agreement with WWE takes her through WrestleMania 39.

Ronda Rousey Scheduled For Upcoming WWE Live Event

WWE is advertising that Royal Rumble winner Ronda Rousey will compete at the March 6th live event from Laval, Quebec. This event had originally been scheduled for late December, but was postponed due to increased restrictions due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Rousey will team with former rival Sasha Banks against Charlotte Flair and Rousey’s training partner, Shayna Baszler. At the Royal Rumble on Saturday, Rousey seemed pleased to see Baszler when she entered in at the #30 position.

Sasha Banks and Rousey worked a program leading up to the 2019 Royal Rumble. Rousey then successfully defended the RAW Women’s Championship against Banks on that show.

Rousey is reportedly under contract with WWE through WrestleMania 39. She will be working a full schedule and it appears as though this includes working the house show tours, unless the show in Laval is an anomaly.

She’s is expected to be part of the Smackdown brand moving forward, with her likely choosing Charlotte Flair as her WrestleMania 38 opponent.

Rousey said on Monday’s RAW that she’ll make her decision regarding which championship she’ll challenge for this Friday on Smackdown. Friday’s show will take place in Oklahoma City.

Plans For Ronda Rousey After WWE Return

Ronda Rousey has only returned to WWE programming but it appears that WWE already has planned the next big outings for her.

Dave Meltzer talked about the former UFC star on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. He reiterated that the current plan is for her to challenge the SmackDown women’s champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 38.

Just like the last time, Ronda is going to be a regular on SmackDown leading to this program. She is expected to wrestle on weekly shows as well.

Though this isn’t all as officials already have plans in place for her WrestleMania 39 opponent. The idea is for her to face Becky Lynch at the show of shows next year.

Ronda Rousey’s deal is for her to do the two Manias and Meltzer speculates that she will be gone from the company after that.

The former Raw women’s champion made her return to WWE TV during the Royal Rumble PPV last night. She entered the women’s rumble at #28 and won the match.

WWE has announced that the baddest woman on the planet will be making an appearance at this Monday’s episode of Raw. It’s likely that we will see a confrontation between her and Becky Lynch at the show.

Ronda Rousey Says She Will Not Fall For Fan Reaction After Royal Rumble Win

Ronda Rousey made her WWE return with a statement as expected during the Royal Rumble PPV from America’s Center in St. Louis, MO.

The former Raw women’s champion entered the women’s Royal Rumble match at #28 to a huge pop. She then went on to win the match by last eliminating Charlotte Flair.

Sarah Schreiber caught up with Rousey backstage after the event and she made some interesting comments about her return.

The megastar first claimed that her victory was a statement. When asked for her reaction to the moment, the former MMA star said that she would go back and love her baby because her priorities have changed.

Ronda Rousey was then asked what can we expect from her now that she is back. To this Rousey responded: “There was quite a reaction tonight, and you can expect me not to fall for it this time.”

Latest reports suggest that the former champion is expected to face the Raw women’s champion Charlotte Flair, at WrestleMania 38 this year.

This backstage interaction indicates that the rowdy one may play the villain in this story. It will be interesting to see how WWE books Ronda Rousey on her road to the grandest stage of them all.

Ronda Rousey Wins 2022 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble Match

The winner of this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match has been revealed and it’s Ronda Rousey. Now, her journey to WrestleMania 38 begins.

Sasha Banks and Melina started it off. Zelina Vega eliminated Banks. Rhea Ripley eliminated Vega and Carmella at the same time. When Brie Bella made her entrance, she did the yes chant in the ring. Mickie James came out with the Impact Knockouts Title and to Hardcore Country. Lita came out and eliminated James with DDT. Charlotte Flair eliminated Lita with a big boot.

Rousey outlasted the likes of Bianca Belair, Shayna Bazler, and Flair in the Final Four at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event. Rousey and Flair were the final two.

With her beating out 29 other stars, she has earned the right to be in one of the main events of Mania and will have her choice to go after one of the top titles in the company. The decision for her comes down to the Raw Women’s Title, which is held by Becky Lynch. The other option is challenging SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, who was in this same match.

Rousey’s return was expected as it was reported earlier in the week that WWE had pushed for the former Raw Women’s Champion to make a return at this show and the decision was her call. Regarding Paige, she was medically cleared to return to in-ring action after being forced into retirement due to a history of spinal stenosis.

Charlotte Flair Wrestlemania Opponent Revealed (Report)

The WWE has reportedly decided on Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair’s opponent for Wrestlemania 38.

Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reports that Ronda Rousey will challenge Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 38. The event will be a two-night affair held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on April 2nd and 3rd.

Meltzer said earlier this week that the WWE considered Rousey vs. Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania. However, WWE seems to have different plans.

Ronda Rousey & Charlotte Flair

Rona Rousey Charlotte Flair

Rousey had a two-year run in WWE before taking time off. However, she quickly became one of WWE’s most featured talents on TV. The report states that the WWE wants Rousey to be a member of the Friday Night Smackdown roster to appease Fox. She could also appear for Monday Night Raw to help their TV ratings.

“Her being on Smackdown is to throw a major bone to Fox, which had hoped for both Rousey and Brock Lesnar to be regulars on the show,” said Meltzer.

Lynch recently teased facing Rousey on social media. While the report shares that it won’t happen at Wrestlemania 38, Meltzer doesn’t rule that the matchup could happen at Wrestlemania 39. He also admitted that Rousey vs. Lynch made more sense for this year’s Wrestlemania, but WWE thinks differently.

Latest On Ronda Rousey’s Contractual Status With WWE

Ronda Rousey has been in news lately after it was reported that the former Raw women’s champion would be returning to WWE for the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer recently talked about the former UFC star. He confirmed her contractual status with the company.

Meltzer revealed that Ronda is under contract with the promotion at the moment. Though he couldn’t report whether she has signed a new deal:

“Either a new deal was put together or WWE froze her three-year deal since she really only worked the first year and a few months of it.”

– Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Ronda Rousey made her official WWE debut during the Royal Rumble PPV in 2018. She went on to win the Raw women’s championship at SummerSlam that year.

After a historic 231 days reign with the title, The Baddest Woman on the Planet dropped the championship to Becky Lynch in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 35.

Rousey has not made an appearance on WWE programming since then. Though Lynch recently responded to the rumors of her return.

Latest reports suggest that WWE is planning a rematch between these two female stars in near future. Click here to read when it may take place.

Becky Lynch Responds To Ronda Rousey Return Rumors

Becky Lynch has commented on the rumors circulating that Ronda Rousey could be on her way back to WWE. News broke recently that WWE officials are pushing for Rousey to return in the upcoming Royal Rumble premium live event this weekend.

Lynch responded to a Tweet from Bleacher Report noting that Rousey could be returning to WWE soon.

“Was wondering if you’d show up again. I’ve still got her and she’s doing great,” Lynch Tweeted.

Rousey gave birth to her first child in September but is said to have been training for an in-ring return.

The last time Ronda Rousey was in a WWE ring she was pinned by Becky Lynch in the main event of WrestleMania 35. There was some controversy to that match, however, as Rousey’s shoulder appeared to come off the mat during the pin.

Lynch would also take time away from the company to have her first child. She vacated the RAW Women’s Championship to Asuka the night after Money in the Bank in 2020. She’d return this summer at SummerSlam and regain the title in just 23 seconds in an impromptu match against Bianca Belair. Lynch is scheduled to defend the title on Saturday against Doudrop.

Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch Planned for WrestleMania (Report)

WWE is planning for Ronda Rousey to be a big part of WrestleMania 38.

This Saturday, WWE presents the 2022 Royal Rumble premium live event. The Rumble marks the beginning of the Road to WrestleMania.

We know WWE has some big Royal Rumble surprises in store. As big as the Rumble is, WWE often uses it as a platform to set up the biggest show of the year.

By now, the top matches for WrestleMania are starting to take shape. On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed speculation that Ronda Rousey will be returning to face Becky Lynch at WrestleMania in April.

“That could be the match, and the impression I got is that it’s certainly ‘more than considered’ to be the match. I don’t know that it’s official, but I know somebody there who pretty much told me its in the books.”

– Dave Meltzer on Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38

Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania

Ronda Rousey has had some big moments at WrestleMania. Her first appearance for WWE took place at WrestleMania 31 back in 2015. Little did we know at the time, Rousey would eventually go on to become a full-time WWE Superstar and main event WrestleMania just a few years later.

The last time we saw Ronda Rousey in a WWE, it was at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch made history that night. It was the first time a women’s secured the main event of the biggest night in pro wrestling.

Becky Lynch was victorious that night. She walked away with Rousey’s Raw Women’s Championship and Charlotte’s SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch

Since WrestleMania 35, Becky Lynch’s star has continued to rise. “Becky 2 Belts” evolved into The Man and more recently into Big Time Becks. Her star power and is on a different level than any other woman in WWE. If WWE wants to deliver a WrestleMania opponent worthy of Big Time Becks, Ronda Rousey fits the bill. Plans change, but Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania is one hell of a plan.

Becky Lynch hasn’t forgotten about her former foe. During an interview with TMZ Sports back in October, she was asked if she had any advice for Ronda Rousey about returning to WWE after having a baby.

“Don’t, cause I’m still on top, Ronda, you won’t like it. That’s my advice.”

– Becky Lynch’s advice to Ronda Rousey about returning to WWE

If the match does come to fruition, Becky Lynch thinks she knows how it will play out.

“The fact that I’ve had a baby and came back so great that she’ll probably want to one-up me,” Lynch said of Rousey on the Out of Character podcast.

“She’ll try to come back in three months, then I’ll be right there to punch her right in the face, give her a Rock Bottom, out of here in 20 seconds, Ronda. So long, good night.”

Stephanie McMahon Comments On WM31 Angle With The Rock & Ronda Rousey

Stephanie McMahon says she has many fond memories of working with the Rock. Recently in an interview with Talk Sport, she noted that perhaps her favourite was at WrestleMania 31 when she performed in a segment with both The Rock and Ronda Rousey.

“I have lots of fun memories on screen with The Rock,” McMahon said. “I think I slapped him the hardest I’ve ever slapped him at WrestleMania 31 at Levi’s Stadium. It was a good one, it was a good one. It felt like I laid it in [laughs]. I was almost like ‘oooh, that was a little too hard!’ But then he brought in Ronda Rousey and ultimately she broke my arm and everything so ultimately, he got back at me.”

“Always fun going back and forth doing promos with The Rock. He always won, of course, but that’s alright,” McMahon continued.

Ronda Rousey recently addressed whether or not she is still under contract with WWE recently. While streaming video games on her Facebook page, someone asked Rousey if she was still under contract with the company. Rousey explained that she doesn’t really know if she is or not.

“I don’t think I am. But who knows? That’s a question for the lawyers,” Rousey said. She would also say that she still keeps in touch with Stephanie McMahon.

Becky Lynch To Ronda Rousey: “Don’t Come Back”

Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey are both former RAW Women’s Champions and also new mothers. Lynch recently spoke with TMZ and was asked if she had any advice for Ronda Rousey about returning to the ring after recently giving birth as well. Lynch’s advice was for her not to return at all.

“Don’t [come back], cause I’m still on top, Ronda, you won’t like it. That’s my advice,” Lynch said during the interview.

Lynch returned at SummerSlam this year and defeated Bianca Belair for the Smackdown women’s championship in just seconds. She also spoke to TMZ about what life has been like since her return.

“It’s been crazy, Mike. It went from zero to 100 real quick. Coming back, and coming back on top after not wrestling for a year and a half. It’s been wild, but it’s been amazing. And, my baby comes along everywhere with me.”

Lynch was also recently on the Out of Character podcast with Ryan Satin. During that discussion she said she was optimistic that a singles match between her and Ronda will happen at some point.

“Yeah, and I do think it will. The fact that I’ve had a baby and came back so great that she’ll probably want to one-up me. She’ll try to come back in three months, then I’ll be right there to punch her right in the face, give her a Rock Bottom, out of here in 20 seconds, Ronda. So long, good night.”

At WrestleMania 35 back in 2019. Lynch took on Ronda Rousey and Charlotte to determine the undisputed WWE Women’s Champion. Going into the match, Rousey was the Raw Women’s Champion, while Charlottle held the SmackDown Women’s Title.

Becky Lynch ended up winning that match and becoming the “champ-champ.” Rousey hasn’t had another WWE match since.

Appearing on the Out of Character podcast, Lynch told Ryan Satin that she feels a one-on-one match with Rousey will eventually happen.

At the moment, Becky is busy feuding with Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks. Lynch is the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion. She will put that title up for grabs on Oct. 21 in a triple threat match against Belair and Banks. The championship match will be featured on the WWE Crown Jewel card.

Lynch made her return to the ring in August. She had been away due to pregnancy. Last month, Rousey welcomed her first child. Time will tell if Rousey will eventually get the itch to return to the squared circle. If she does, there’s definitely unfinished business with Becky.

Rousey is also step-mother to Browne’s two children from a previous marriage. She and Browne announced in April that Rousey was 4-months pregnant. Back in July, Rousey spoke about the challenges of pregnancy on Instagram.

“I wish I could say that pregnancy feels amazing, that I’ve never felt more powerful as a woman. But it feels more like my organs are being crushed by the miracle of life,” Rousey says in the post. “I’ve never felt more exhausted, unmotivated or aware of gravity. Some days I have to lay on my side for hours just to comfortably breathe.”

“This baby is gunna be some kind of superhero cause I swear she’s eating all my muscles.”

Will Ronda Rousey Return To WWE?

Ronda Rousey left WWE after WrestleMania 35 for what she referred to as an “impregnation vacation.” Triple H said in an interview to MMA Junkie in 2019 that Rousey had been pitching ideas for her return.

“I don’t think she understood that walking in the door, but when she got here, she said to me multiple times, ‘It’s like the family that I never knew I was missing, and the group of friends and the environment I never knew I was missing.’ I think she misses that greatly. She talks to everybody all the time, she’s constantly with us, and she’s constantly pitching her return. So, if I had to guess, it would be sooner than later, but who knows?”

Ronda Rousey Praises NWA Empowerrr PPV

Mickie James and the NWA presented Empowerrr last night from the Chase ballroom in St. Louis. Ronda Rousey was watching the show and posted her comments to social media throughout the evening.

Rousey was particularly impressed with the Knockouts championship match between Deonna Purrazzo and Melina. Purrazzo was able to make Melina tap after focusing on Melina’s leg for much of the contest.

Melina responded to Rousey’s comments as well.

Following the Knockouts title match was the finals in the 4-team tournament for the NWA Women’s Tag Team Championships. The Hex (Allysin Kay & Marti Belle) came out the victors and new champs after defeating Red Velvet and KiLynn King.

The nights main event was the NWA Women’s Invitational Cup. The 10-person Gauntlet match was won by Chelsea Green. Rousey sent out her congratulations to Green and praised the PPV overall.

The NWA returns to PPV tonight. The NWA 73rd Anniversary show will also air from the Chase Ballroom in St. Louis.

Ronda Rousey Resurfaces, Rips Rebellious WWE “Fans”

Bray Wyatt was released by WWE last Saturday after being informed by Head of Relations John Laurinaitis in what was blamed on budget cuts for his release.

Ronda Rousey took to Twitter to go off on fans of the company who disrespected Bray Wyatt while he was still with the company. She also brought up the chants by fans for wanting him while also being the same people who would chant for wanting beach balls during matches at a time when Wyatt was still with the company.

She wrote, “I’ve seen you same “fans” chanting #WeWantWyatt last night chanting “We want beach balls” over @WWEBrayWyatt performing. If the @wwe treated him like he was expendable it was because you ungrateful idiots did first.”

In regards to the “we want beach balls” chant, it happened during a 2017 Finn Balor vs. Jason Jordan match in Brooklyn at the Barclay’s Center.

Also, in 2018 at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, those same chants were made during the Bray Wyatt vs. Matt Hardy match.

It should be noted that not all fans are guilty of these chants, but rather a vocal minority that shows disrespect to the wrestlers at some shows.

Ronda Rousey and husband Travis Browne are expecting their first child together, a baby girl some, time next month.

Ronda Rousey Gives Pregnancy Update

Ronda Rousey recently took to social media to give an update on her pregnancy. Rousey revealed she was 4 months pregnant back in April. It doesn’t sound as though she is too thrilled with some of the more uncomfortable aspects of pregnancy, however.

Rousey also said that she’s very excited to meet her baby. She’s excited to find out what traits the baby gets from her and her dad. Mainly, however, she sounds as though the actual pregnancy is exhausting to her.

“There’s no break, it’s a grind, I’m just trying to get through one day at a time. And holy hell what is all this shit coming out of my nipples?”

“This baby is gunna be some kind of superhero cause I swear she’s eating all my muscles.”

“Has anyone seen my butt? I can’t find it.”

Hang in there, Ronda! Her full post is below:

Ronda Rousey and the RAW Women’s Championship

Ronda Rousey holds the record for the 2nd longest run with the RAW Women’s Championship. She held the title for 232 days from SummerSlam 2018 to WrestleMania 35. Becky Lynch would then break her record when she held the title from WrestleMania 35 to the night after Money in the Bank last year.
