Sasha Banks Comments On Her “Dream Match” Against Ronda Rousey, Defending The Women’s Tag Team Championships

This past January at the Royal Rumble, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey would successfully defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks. Rousey wasn’t shy in admitting that she considered this matchup a “dream match” for her.

But was the feeling mutual?

Speaking with journalist Vicente Beltran whilst doing international media for WWE, Sasha Banks would comment on their Royal Rumble clash. She confessed she didn’t consider it to be a “dream match” for her.

“No,” Banks admitted. “It was a dream match for her though. She said it.”

“It Could Be Any Team, Any Place, Any Time”

Later in their conversation, the discussion turned to the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Sasha shares these titles with her partner, Bayley.

She would comment on how The Boss ’N’ Hug Connection is committed to defending their belts on any show, wanting them to become esteemed in the process. When asked how they would feel if they were to defend their titles on an NXT TakeOver event, Banks would reply:

“I think that would be amazing. That’s exactly what me and Bayley want to do, we want to take these titles all over the world. Whether it’s RAW, SmackDown, NXT, NXT UK, it doesn’t matter. It could be any team, any place, any time. We really do mean that; we want to take over the world and we want to make the tag team titles very important.”

The team will be defending the championships at WrestleMania 35 in a Fatal 4 Way against The Divas Of Doom (Beth Phoenix and Natalya), The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce), and Nia Jax and Tamina.

Ronda Rousey Says WWE Copied Women’s Evolution In Backhanded Compliment

In an apparent backhanded compliment, Ronda Rousey said that WWE is copying the women’s evolution.

Appearing on ESPN’s Sports Center with fellow stars Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, Rousey talked about women in WWE and how much progress the women’s evolution made in a timespan of a year. What seemed like a plaudit for WWE’s efforts to revolutionize the women’s roster, Rousey said that the company started focusing on women after others started doing it.

“It’s just incredible the amount of momentum that we’ve been able to generate within just a year. If you look at last year’s WrestleMania compared to now, like what I think was happening with WWE is really a parallel for everything that’s happened culturally around the world.

The WWE just… copies everything else that’s happening, like the women’s evolution and revolution and every industry out there.”

Rousey further added, “I really think that this is one of those mediums where you can affect real social changes and affect how women view themselves. This is the same company that had bra and panty matches that are now you know, raising the women to the highest pinnacle that they have in the industry.”

Rousey basically implied that WWE is late to the party and are only going with the women’s evolution because it is “in” right now. But the rest of the interview was Rousey praising WWE for their efforts. It is after all very Rousey-esque to still take a small shot at WWE while praising them.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

Backstage News On Women’s Triple Threat Headlining WrestleMania

As we reported earlier today the RAW Women’s Championship will be main eventing WrestleMania in just a few weeks time. Ronda Rousey will be defending her Championship against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

The decision to headline the show with this match has been likely for some time. The feud between Lynch and Rousey had been one of the hottest feuds in the company during the year.

With the inclusion of Flair and the convoluted nature of the feud some were predicting that this match would not in fact headline. According to PWInsider, this may have actually been the case.

The decision to make the Women’s Triple Threat the headliner was still being debated down to the wire. The Universal Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins was heavily in contention for the spot.

Although the Triple Threat is perceived as ‘less hot’ going into Mania it is almost inconceivable that the company would consider putting Lesnar in the main event spot again. Turns out, they almost did.

Do you feel that the Women’s match deserves to main event?

Ronda Rousey Wanted To Prank Fans With Pregnancy Annoucement

Ronda Rousey says she pitched what would have been a highly controversial/entertaining prank to Paul Heyman recently. Unfortunately, Rousey will not be able to follow through with the idea.

Rousey revealed today on her website that she wanted to announce on the April 1st, 2019 episode of Monday Night RAW that she is pregnant. Not only that, Rousey would say because of her pregnancy she would not compete at WrestleMania and the women would not be in the main event. Then at the end of RAW, she would let the fans know it had all been an April Fools Day prank.

Ronda Rousey On Pregnancy Announcement Prank

Rousey explained the idea to RondaRousey.com. She was asked how she found out that her match would be headlining WrestleMania this year.

“I found out from Paul Heyman,” Rousey said. “And the reason I found out is I sent him this long text, basically saying: ‘Hey, Paul, let’s do an April Fool’s Day joke on April Fool’s Day on RAW, saying that I’m pregnant and that the women are no longer the main event in WrestleMania, because I’m out.’ Then at the end of the show, we can say, “April Fool’s!”

“Then he called me back immediately, and he said, ‘Yeah, great idea and all, but they’re going to announce to all major outlets and everything that the women are actually going to main event, this Monday. So we can’t do your April Fool’s Day joke. They’re making that official, official.’ I was like, oh, shoot! So yeah, Paul Heyman told me is the short version of the answer. But he told me to explain why I couldn’t do my April Fool’s Day joke and tell everyone I’m pregnant.”

Rousey also discusses watching WrestleMania growing up, whether she deserves the WM main event spot, and being “Mrs. WrestleMania”. the full interview can be read here.

Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair & Ronda Rousey React To Main Eventing WrestleMania

WWE confirmed the big news on Monday morning when they announced that women will main event WrestleMania 35, which is the first time ever that women will headline a WrestleMania event.

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair will be the featured match. Several WWE stars took to social media to give their reaction to the announcement made by the company including Rousey, Lynch, and Flair.

Lynch earned this title opportunity by scoring a win over Flair at the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view event. You can check out the reactions here:

In the press release that was sent out to the media about the announcement, it was touted that “At WrestleMania 32 in 2016, WWE re-branded the Divas Division the Women’s Division and unveiled a new Women’s Championship title. Since that time, the women’s evolution has placed a greater spotlight on WWE’s female performers, including more prominent storylines and deeper character development that showcases their athleticism, charisma and star power. Last October, WWE held its first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event, Evolution, in front of a sold-crowd and millions more watching on WWE Network.”

WWE presents the WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium that will air on the WWE Network.

The Miz Defends Ronda Rousey Breaking Kayfabe

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey changed her character during her feud with former SmackDown Women’s Champions Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

When she first made her WWE debut at WrestleMania 34 and for the majority of her run with the company, she was presented as a babyface. However, that all changed as WrestleMania 35 got closer. Since her feud started with the stars of the blue branded show, she has turned heel.

Rousey has also been breaking kayfabe online through social media and videos posted on her official YouTube channel. This has fans talking online as a result of it.

TMZ recently caught up with former WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion The Miz where they asked him about Rousey’s new character and her actions. This is where he praised her for getting attention heading into WrestleMania.

She’s slated to make her next title defense as RAW Women’s Champion against Flair and Lynch in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 35.

“She’s making noise, she’s making headlines and you’re talking about her, so everything’s working about it. It’s WrestleMania season. You do whatever you have to do to get people watching … right now, she’s doing exactly that.”

Lynch responded by offering to pay Rousey’s fine with her new “shampoo money”:

Ronda Rousey Has Fiery Response About WWE Banning Travis Browne

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has given her reaction to the latest angle done on WWE television.

During Monday’s episode of WWE RAW in Chicago, IL at the Allstate Arena on the USA Network, Rousey quickly beat Dana Brooke. Following the match, she didn’t let go of her armbar finisher on Brooke for a few moments.

She let go and went over to her husband and UFC heavyweight star Travis Browne. While celebrating at ringside among fans, Rousey attacked one of the security guards. Browne followed up by hitting another guard.

Rousey took to her Instagram account where she wrote the following about WWE banning Browne from RAW events:

She wrote,“@wwe can fire me whenever they want. I’ll gladly go home and live happily ever after with the love of my life @travisbrownemma. They can’t control me with this job.  @wwe can assign as many security they want to follow me, they can’t control me with hired goons. @wwe can go ahead and fine me however much they want. They can’t control me with money. You’re all lucky my husband @travisbrownemma was there to stop me when I was just getting started. Now that he’s been banned from #Raw, your luck has run out.”

After a few days have passed, WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey broke her silence about being fined by WWE.

Ronda Rousey Marketing “Break Kayfabe” T-Shirt

Ronda Rousey has been breaking kayfabe through her promos and Tweets recently. Now fans of Rousey can celebrate her 4th-wall busting actions with a new T-shirt.

Rousey is marketing the shirt herself, separate from WWE.

Rousey’s frequent admissions regarding the pre-determined nature of professional wrestling has struck a chord with some.

Ronda Rousey – Kayabe Breaker

According to the Wrestling Observer, Rousey’s comments about wrestling being fake is being done in an effort to build heat on her from fans of Becky Lynch. WWE believes the angle has been a big success so far.

“The company believes it’s been a huge success in the sense that people actually buy Rousey being an enemy of the state based on her saying wrestling is a scripted world,” Dave Meltzer said on the matter.

Rousey is scheduled to face Dana Brooke with the RAW Women’s championship on the line this Monday. Assuming she’s victorious on RAW, she’ll meet Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match.

Kurt Angle was asked about Rousey’s heel turn on Facebook recently. He offered up only praise for how the former UFC champion has been doing.

“It’s great for Ronda. It shows her depth as a persona and her understanding of the business. Ronda will learn very quickly how to be a heel in the ring, which means she will be bumping a lot more than before. I’m looking forward to it.”

Ronda Rousey To Defend Title Against Dana Brooke On RAW

Ronda Rousey’s next title defense has been set. She’ll look to defend her RAW women’s championship this Monday on RAW against Dana Brooke.

“Seven days after her bold challenge to Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey was met with a vicious beatdown, Dana Brooke will face The Rowdy One for her title on Raw,” a WWE press release for the title match reads. “On Friday morning, Rousey was fined by WWE for her actions last Monday, which also included striking a WWE official.”

Ronda Rousey vs Dana Brooke – Monday Night RAW 3/18

As of this writing, Rousey is just 13 days behind Alexa Bliss for having the longest reign with the RAW women’s championship. Bliss held the title for 223 days from late August 2017 to WrestleMania 34.

So far, Rousey has defended the title 9x on WWE programming (not including house shows), which is the record. The second most consecutive defenses in the title’s lineage are 4, held by Bliss and Charlotte Flair.

Bliss has 8 total defenses, Flair 7, and then Nia Jax and Bayley have each defended the title twice. Banks has defended the title just once on WWE programming despite 4x reigns with the belt. She wrestled Charlotte Flair to a double-count out in late 2016. She’s never won a title match while defending the title on WWE programming.

Ronda Rousey Fined By WWE For Actions on RAW

Ronda Rousey has been fined by WWE for her actions on RAW this week. According to WWE, actual amount of the [storyline] fine Rousey will be forced to pay has not been disclosed due to confidentiality clauses in her contract.

Ronda Rousey has been fined by WWE as a result of her unprofessional actions last Monday night on Raw,” a WWE press release reads. “Due to the confidentiality of Rousey’s contract, the amount of the fine will not be disclosed.”

Ronda Rousey Fined By WWE

Dana Brooke confronted Rousey Monday night on RAW. Brooke said Rousey has been insulting pro-wrestling with her comments and went to the ring to confront her. Rousey then proceeded to beat up Brooke even as referees and WWE officials attempted to pry her off.

Rousey continued the attack but stopped short of applying her patented arm-bar on Brooke.

Ronda Rousey Causes Disqualification At Fastlane

Rousey stirred up controversy on Sunday with her actions as well. She attacked Lynch during her match with Charlotte Flair, resulting in a disqualification. With the disqualification victory, Lynch qualified to be in the RAW Women’s championship match at WrestleMania. The match will now take place under triple threat rules.

Cris Cyborg To Ronda Rousey: “Let Me Make Wrestling Real Again”

UFC fighter Cris Cyborg is once again testing the waters for a stint in sports entertainment.

The former UFC Women’s Feathrweight champion tweeted a Photoshopped photo of herself in the ring with longtime rival Ronda Rousey. These two will unfortunately step into the Octagon together, but Cyborg is open to a pro wrestling match with Rousey.

This is just one of the many taunts Cyborg has directed towards Rousey for months.

In an interview, Cyborg said that she is willing to fight Rousey in a WWE ring if she’s ever done with MMA and even willing to lose to her in a scripted match – because according to her Rousey won’t face her in a ‘real’ fight.

”I think Ronda’s biggest fear was losing to me, so if we were to do it in WWE she would have to win,” Cyborg said. “I don’t have such a big ego, but if we were to put on a show for the fans, something like that, no problem. But I don’t see myself in it now.”

Cyborg and Rousey have never faced each other inside the Octagon. Though Cyborg has again and again shown interest in joining facing Rousey in WWE.

There were also rumors going around that Cyborg will be Rousey’s opponent at WrestleMania. While that obviously didn’t happen, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that she will never join WWE. She has been linked to the company in recent times and was even seen at the WWE Performance Center in January. All Four Horsewomen of MMA are in WWE now too, so anything can happen.

Rousey, on the other hand, will be defending her Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in a triple-threat match on WrestleMania 35.

WWE Reportedly In Favor Of Using More Reality-Based Promos

WWE appears to be shifting their mindset when it comes to promos. In recent weeks there has been a noticeable grounding of topic and theme as WWE Superstars took to the mic.

Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey have been blazing this trail. Their interactions and promos have been more reality-based and, seemingly, less heavily scripted than in the past.

This has also been true for Dana Brooke’s recent impassioned words, crafting a promo that borrows from her real-life frustrations. Even the recent Randy Orton and AJ Styles back-and-forth on SmackDown Live rooted itself in history and real-life touchstones, such as AJ’s time in TNA with Dixie Carter.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, WWE is in favor of this new promo style — one that harkens back to an era without such monitored enforced scripting.

He said that “the company [WWE] believes it’s been a huge success in the sense that people actually buy [Ronda] Rousey being an enemy of the state based on her saying wrestling is a scripted world.”

Obviously, Ronda Rousey is a huge pro wrestling fan and has just tapped into a different dynamic — one that has helped her to effectively turn heel and generate more interest in her feud with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

Whether WWE loosens the reigns all the more and allows its talent to speak from the heart remains to be seen, but these recent promos being grounded and influenced by Superstars genuine feelings has worked so far.

Mick Foley Believes Fans Will Be Upset If Women Don’t Main Event WrestleMania 35

The women’s revolution in WWE has been taking huge steps and breaking down barriers that were unimaginable a few years ago.

From main eventing weekly shows to main eventing PPVs, to having their own Royal Rumble, to having their dedicated PPV event, women’s wrestling in WWE has come a long way.

However, one thing that’s still remaining for the women’s locker room to achieve is to main event the Grandest Stage Of Them All, WrestleMania.

Female WWE stars have been very vocal about the possibility to be on the highlighting match of WrestleMania 35, and WWE Legend Mick Foley seems to think the same too.

Foley says that if the Raw Women’s Championship match between Charlotte Flair, champion Ronda Rousey, and Becky Lynch doesn’t headline WrestleMania this year then fans are not going to take it too well.

“I believe the women are going to main-event WrestleMania this year and if they don’t, I think there’ll be a mass exodus of people from around the world,” he told Sky Sports.

Foley also believes that Lynch has earned her place to be in the spotlight.

“I believe their time has come. Becky Lynch has succeeded in becoming the biggest name in our business and I think that’s great.”

“She’s a good friend, she’s a wonderful person and it couldn’t happen to a nicer lass.”

Foley thinks that there is a lot of potential in the match with what Rousey is doing and how Lynch took steps to change her career and likens her to ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

“I see it being an exciting match; Ronda is going out on a limb to create this really dislikeable persona and I think it works. I go back to my messages about eight or nine months ago and when she came to me for some advice I told her to be patient and to be ready. Then when she got the opportunity, she ran with it like nobody I’ve ever seen, like ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.”

Dean Ambrose & Ronda Rousey Absent From SummerSlam Promotional Material

This year’s WWE SummerSlam event takes place Sunday, August 11th from Toronto, Canada at the Scotiabank Arena. SummerSlam weekend will include an NXT Takeover event, SummerSlam, RAW and SmackDown Live.

Tickets for SummerSlam weekend go on sale this Friday. Promotional material for SummerSlam weekend was sent out this week. As seen below, Dean Ambrose and Ronda Rousey are conspicuously absent from the artwork.

ssweekend

Wrestling fans are familiar with the phrase “card subject to change,” a term that connotes the people and matches advertised for upcoming shows are not set in stone. That said, the specific exclusion of Dean Ambrose and Ronda Rousey is noteworthy.

Dean Ambrose’s WWE Future

WWE recently announced that Dean Ambrose will be leaving the company in April. It is certainly possible that Ambrose will change his mind and decide to stay. The fact that WWE has incorporated Ambrose’s coming departure into television storylines has made some fans skeptical.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer stated this week that Ambrose has not signed a new deal with WWE and is still expected to leave after WrestleMania.

Braun Strowman is replacing Dean Ambrose in the Shield, at least for one night. Strowman is now being advertised as an “Honorary Shield Member” for WWE’s return to Paris, France on May 10th. He will team up with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins against Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin on that show.

Ronda Rousey’s WWE Future

Ronda Rousey is poised to make history at WrestleMania 35. The RAW Women’s Championship match is widely considered the most anticipated bout on the card. WWE has yet to bill it as the official “main event.”

Rousey is rumored to be leaving WWE as a full-time performer after WrestleMania to start a family with husband Travis Browne. WWE has stated Rousey signed a multi-year deal last year. This keeps her with the company through at least 2020.

The prevailing wisdom amongst wrestling pundits is that Rousey’s appearances will be more sporadic after WrestleMania 35.

Dana Brooke Reveals Why She Confronted Ronda Rousey, Sends Warning

On this week’s Raw, Dana Brooke interrupted Ronda Rousey during a promo and called her out for using vulgar language and disrespecting the WWE and the women’s locker room.

Brooke attempted to challenge Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship but Rousey attacked her viciously and hit the Piper’s Pit, and was going for the armbar but the referees stopped her.

Brooke posted a lengthy post the following day on Twitter about her confrontation with Rousey and explained why she came out to the ring. She also addressed her appearance looking a bit different from usual.

Brooke said she is not done with Rousey and she will not back down from someone who is disrespectful to the business and a bad role model for children. You can read the entire statement below:

“‘SHE IS STRONG BUT SHE IS TIRED” – take a look in my eyes… Last night I HAD NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE! I meant every word I said… I felt like I was going to cry, but I wanted to be BRAVE for all of YOU… I wanted to use my platform to be the voice of ALLL #wweuniverse! -Listen, we only expose so much on social media, but behind closed doors, we face so much! Last night, you heard ‘Ashley’ you heard the true passion behind my heart that is bottled up inside ‘DANA’… I wanted you all to see ME.. every day I look like this, not heavy makeup, hair up in the gym grinding away to look the best I can & be the best I can be. Most of you know what I have been through in the past year in a half, I lost & loved, I lost vision, I wasn’t comfortable, here I am now- this is me… @rondarousey .. you might think you are the baddest woman, is it because you cuss and play tough girl, how can little girls want to be like you!? Are you tough because you think you make your rules here because no one will stand up to you !? Let me tell you something sister, I respected you, from the moment you walked into the locker room, I told you leave your bags here, we are a family no one will ever mess with your stuff, you were shocked… Now I know why, because you are the one who would destroy others, you are the one who would play nasty games and destroy personal property, and you are the one to disown OUR family and leave, you knew alllllll along your nasty plan, but I will never ever back down… I might get my “ass” kicked .. but they say ‘what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger’ – I woke up this morning blessed and have a sigh of relief because I left my feelings all out there nothing left to lose.. while you probably feel like a POS deep inside, I am not done with you, run and hide- but you don’t belong here if you don’t respect it! I will stand up for what I believe if it kills me but I will speak on the behalf of millions who have felt this way!!! @wwe I love this business & I will never be a disgraceful B*+% like our ‘fake’ champion!”

Kurt Angle Gives Praise To Ronda Rousey For Her Heel Persona

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently did a Q&A on Facebook and commented on a number of interesting topics.

Right off the bat, one fan asked him about WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey’s heel persona that she has created due to her program with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

“It’s great for Ronda. It shows her depth as a persona and her understanding of the business. Ronda will learn very quickly how to be a heel in the ring, which means she will be bumping a lot more than before. I’m looking forward to it.

He has some history with her as he teamed up with the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion to take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34 in a Mixed Tag Team Match this past April at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

A fan brought up the memory of Triple H and Mick Foley making fun of Angle shedding tears after winning his Gold medal. Angle made it known that he didn’t care because he knew that both men didn’t know what it felt like to win a gold medal.

“Honestly, I didn’t care. Because I knew that neither one of them knew what it felt like to be a gold medalist standing on top of the podium. I thought to myself ‘would I rather be the one standing in the podium being made fun of or would I prefer being the one making fun of that person?’ I will choose crying on the podium… all day, every day.” Angle explained.

Chris Jericho Seemingly Defends Ronda Rousey From Criticism

Chris Jericho has given his take regarding some of the recent comments made by WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey including a YouTube video where she made several interesting comments including calling wrestling fake.

The former IWGP Intercontinental Champion commented on Rousey breaking kayfabe that caused a big reaction from fans. Although he didn’t specifically name Rousey, it seemingly appears to be about the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

Jericho wrote the following on his official Twitter account, “Makes me smirk when wrestling fans & critics get up in arms about something a performer says or does. This is show business…nothing more, nothing less…so when an action or promo elicits a reaction and connects with an audience, it’s successful! Sit back & enjoy the ride kids!”

The stipulation going into the Fastlane pay-per-view event is that if Becky Lynch wins then she’ll get her wish. She will be added to the RAW Women’s Title Match between Rousey and Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35 on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium. On the flip side, if she loses then she’s done.

Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho 2 is expected to headline the AEW Double or Nothing event that is set to take place May 25th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

WWE Superstars React To Ronda Rousey’s Comments

Ronda Rousey recently set the pro wrestling world abuzz with her damning words towards the WWE Universe. Uploading a video to her YouTube channel, the “Rowdy” one would live up to her name, ripping into fans, the WWE, and other members of the WWE roster. She would commit what many fans and those in the industry consider a cardinal sin by referring to pro wrestling as fake.

“Wrestling is scripted,” she stated, emphatically. “It’s made up, it’s not real. None of those b****** can f****** touch me. The end.”

Her words have clearly affected a number of WWE Superstars, as members of the roster took to their social media accounts in order to address Ronda’s comments.

“You Were Untouchable. Now? Not So Much”

Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey’s scheduled opponent at WrestleMania 35, chimed in with her rebuttal via Twitter, writing:

“Can someone please remind Captain Badass here that her last two fights before coming to WWE ended with her unconscious and sobbing in the cage?

Four years ago, you were untouchable. Now? Not so much.

You’re a class act, @RondaRousey”

The two are currently slated to clash come April 7th. Before that, however, Charlotte Flair will be competing against Becky Lynch at Fastlane. Stephanie McMahon recently added the stipulation that if Lynch emerges victorious tomorrow night, she will be added to the championship match at ‘Mania, making it a triple threat affair.

She wasn’t the only one to take issue with Rousey, however. Both Liv Morgan and Rusev also expressed their thoughts on the video.

Morgan would reflect that “my body is sore all the time … that’s not fake. That’s real.”

Rusev’s tweet would be a little more confrontational, saying:

“Ronda’s new character is not real. She is playing a badass but we all know she ain’t in REAL LIFE”

Ronda’s words have clearly disgruntled a number of people in the industry, but the question remains: just how much of a shoot is it? It will be interesting to see if there is any sort of ramification for her vocal, and public, breaking of kayfabe.

Ronda Rousey: F*ck The WWE Universe, Wrestling Is Scripted

Ronda Rousey has certainly had a lot more attitude on WWE TV as of late. It seems like “The Rowdy One” has turned heel after her recent promo on Monday Night RAW. She denounced the WWE Universe and said she’s done parading around for fans’ entertainment. Rousey proceeded to beat down the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble winner, Becky Lynch.

Rousey will defend her RAW Women’s Title at WrestleMania 35 against Charlotte Flair. However, should Lynch defeat Flair at Fastlane this weekend (Sun. March 10, 2019), she’ll be added to the match, making it a Triple Threat. In a recent upload to her YouTube channel, Rousey continued to attack professional wrestling fans, and the industry itself.

Here’s what the RAW Women’s Champion had to say about her promo this week:

“It wasn’t a promo. They gave me other things to say, I didn’t f*cking say it. It’s not a f*cking promo, it’s not an act. I’m not going out there and doing your f*cking acting anymore. They can say it’s part of the act to try and save face to everybody else, but it’s not an act.

“I’m going out there, I’m doing whatever the hell I want, and they can explain it however they want, but, f*ck em. Everybody, WWE Universe included. I admit that I’m going to disrespect the sport that they all love so much. “Oh don’t break kayfabe, Ronda -” wrestling is scripted.

“It’s made up. It’s not real. None of those b*tches can f*cking touch me. The end.”

You can watch Ronda Rousey’s comments below (end of the video):

Miesha Tate Believes Becky Lynch Got Under Ronda Rousey’s Skin

Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate has sounded off on the feud between WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch.

This is a feud that dates all the way back to Survivor Series in November where they were originally slated to share the squared circle for a match. However, that got nixed once Lynch suffered a broken nose and concussion.

WWE originally announced that Lynch would meet Rousey for the strap at WrestleMania 35 but those plans got changed. Now, Lynch will face Charlotte Flair at Sunday’s Fastlane pay-per-view event.

If Lynch wins then she’ll be added and will face Rousey and Flair in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE RAW Women’s Title at WrestleMania 35.

Tate and Rousey have a history as they fought each other twice in MMA. Their first battle went down in Strikeforce in 2012 when Rousey submitted Tate to take her Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Championship. Their second fight took place a year later at UFC 168, which saw Rousey win again by armbar

Tate gave her take on the situation during Wednesday’s episode of MMA Tonight on SiriusXM.

“It got under her skin. I know about this. You don’t talk about her family, you don’t talk about this, even if it’s just a joke. She does not have a sense of humor, and therefore s**t got real. No, Ronda’s pissed, not joking and playing games.

She’s not used to having to play by rules. She never had to before. Why is she going to now? She’s already broken the rule with the F-word, saying some things are ‘fake.’ She’s not a company woman. She never has been.”

News On Reasoning For WWE Booking Triple Threat Main Event For WrestleMania

As the Road To Wrestlemania continues, it’s looking more and more like a Triple Threat match will, in fact, determine who will be the RAW Women’s Champion. Most fans preferred to see a singles contest between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch. However, WWE has decided to insert Charlotte Flair into the mix.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that injury risk played a factor in WWE’s decision. These days, WWE stars are getting hurt a lot more frequently. One reason WWE was motivated to book a Triple Threat was because, if one woman became injured, they could still make a singles match. The report notes that this is not a major reason for the decision, but it was one reason.

Currently, the match only officially includes Rousey and Flair at WrestleMania. However, on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, WWE set the scene for how Lynch will be added to the match. If she defeats Flair in singles competition at Fastlane this weekend (Sun. March 10, 2019), “The Irish Lass Kicker” will be WrestleMania-bound. Lynch has been dealing with a storyline injury for the past few weeks on WWE TV.

RAW ended with the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble winner taking a vicious beating from the RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. Her condition will likely be worsened for her match with Flair, so that should be a key storyline Sunday night. The Triple Threat match between Flair, Rousey, and Lynch is expected to be the first-ever women’s match to headline a WrestleMania card.

Becky Lynch Attends UFC 235, Wears T-Shirt Taunting Ronda Rousey

Becky Lynch definitely knows how to press Ronda Rousey’s buttons.

The latest example of Lynch’s expertise in taking subtle shots at Rousey ahead of their expected match at WrestleMania took place this past weekend at UFC 235 in Las Vegas.

Lynch, who has attended several UFC cards in the past, enjoyed this one from the cozy confines of a private box at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas where she watched the fights alongside fellow WWE superstars Seth Rollins and Renee Young.

While it was a night away from the ring for Lynch, she didn’t shy away from taking another shot at Rousey by wearing a shirt that night that read ‘I Own Ronnie’.

Lynch has been taking shots at ‘Ronnie’ on social media for the past few weeks with the anticipation for their expected match ratcheting up with every exchange.

Now Lynch has gone into the house that Rousey used to rule in UFC and she still managed to take a dig at the former UFC women’s champion.

Lynch will undoubtedly continue her attacks on Rousey and Charlotte Flair in the final few weeks leading to WrestleMania in April.

Legendary Manager Critical Of Ronda Rousey Over Twitter Usage

One legendary manager and former WWE creative team member is not a fan of the way that WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has handled herself when it comes to the way that she uses social media.

Over the past few weeks, Rousey has been in some heated exchanges of words with former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champions Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair on the Twitter platforms.

This is all being done to further the storyline that has been presented on WWE television since January once Lynch won the Women’s Royal Rumble Match.

Although Jim Cornette has been a supporter of Rousey as she has quickly made the transition from the world of MMA to the pro wrestling business, he’s not someone who enjoys the way that Rousey has been trading fiery words with Lynch on her official Twitter account.

He expressed his standpoint when he wrote the following via the social media platform:

“I hate it when the people I’ve really been enjoying have to remind us it’s all fake when trying to be real. Guess I’ll go back to watching Curse of Oak Island, at least there really is SOMETHING down there.”
