WWE Star Dating Former TNA Knockout Set To Retire?, Tensai Celebrates Birthday

– Current WWE NXT wrestler Mickey Keegan may be done with the company. Keegan has been out of action for a lengthy period of time with a bad neck injury. He had an MRI done recently that showed a narrowing of his spinal column, often referred to as spinal stenosis. The current impression many in the company have is that the WWE doctor’s will not be clearing him to wrestle.

Keegan has been dating former TNA Knockout Roxxi, who herself recently announced her retirement from the pro wrestling business.

– WWE Superstar Tensai celebrates his 41st birthday today. Tensai was born on November 14, 1972. Another wrestling birthday today is former WCW wrestler and Mexican wrestling legend La Parka, who turns 48.

Wilde commented on her wrestling exit, writing yesterday on Twitter: “Big thank you to everyone who came to my retirement match yesterday. I <3 you all for your unconditional love and support! Keep on following."

Roxxi Talks About Leaving TNA & What’s Next For Her

Former TNA Knockout Roxxi has posted a message on her official website talking about her recent departure from TNA, explaining how it went down and thanking TNA for the opportunity they gave her. She wrote:

“So, I know everyone is wondering what exactly happened at TNA this past week. Well I can tell you most of what you hear is true. I was told when I arrive to the set that I would be putting my career on the line. I did hear I was visibly upset but I would like to think I wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong, TNA has always been a big part of my life but if it’s supposed to be my last match or entire day with TNA I want to enjoy it. I want everyone to remember that I was cheerful that day because I was one of the lucky people, just like everyone else who works at TNA, who have the opportunity to be flown to Orlando FL, hang out with some of my closest friends and do what I love to do.”

“With that being said, I want everyone to know I’m proud of the career I did have with them. Every part of it. I legit gave my blood, sweat and tears to TNA and the fans and I know I can walk away with my head held high. I appreciate the opportunity that was given to me several times by the company to do what I love. I also appreciate the opportunity you fans have given me by letting be a part of your lives and you a part of mine. Your support has been amazing!”

“In closing I would like to thank everyone in TNA and most of all Dixie for all the memories I have and fans don’t worry I’m not finished in wrestling. It’s just a new chapter.”

Reaction Pulled From Spike Schedule, Reaction To ODB Leaving

    (partial source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

    — All mentions of TNA ReACTION have been removed from the schedule at Spike.com. Episodes of the reality program Jail are now listed instead. (Thanks to Devin Cutting)

    — Unlike the case of Roxxi, there has been no strong reaction to ODB’s departure from TNA Wrestling. A number of people within the company felt bad for Roxxi because she showed up for work on the day of Slammiversary and hastily informed her services would no longer be required. Many feel the Knockouts division “has gone to hell” as Roxxi was one of the better in-ring performers they had left. On another note, there is said to be no interest on the company’s part in marketing women’s wrestling, sans pushing “The Beautiful People” and Angelina Love.

    — Jeff Hardy’s neck was bothering him following last weekend’s live events.

    — Recently departed TNA Knockout Roxxi is currently training to compete in the fitness competition at the NPC Jay Cutler Classic in Boston.

Roxxi Gone From TNA Following Loss At Slammiversary

As seen last night at Slammiversary, Roxxi agreed to put her TNA career on the line against Madison Rayne and her Women’s Knockout Championship. Rayne retained her title, after hitting Roxxi with the championship belt, ending her TNA career in the process. Sources within TNA indicate she is indeed through with the company.

Roxxi was not informed of her release from the company until yesterday, according to f4wonline.com. She was visibly upset prior to and after her Slammiversary bout. The decision garnered much heat backstage as many feel TNA could have handled the situation better.

Considering Angelina Love and Daffney have been cleared to wrestle, it appears as if TNA no longer needs or has any creative plans for Roxxi, hence her abrupt departure from the organization.

TNA Reportedly Signs Reid Flair, Hogan Trends Ahead Of Coleman

    — According to Ric Flair, TNA Wrestling has signed his son Reid.

The WWE Hall of Famer is currently in the midst of a media tour helping promote TNA’s tour of the United Kingdom beginning in January 2011. During an interview promoting the tour, Flair said TNA signed his son to a contract.

The 22-year-old’s wrestling career has been sidetracked by trouble with the law. On March 4, 2009, he was arrested for driving while impaired in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, but released after posting $1,000 in bail. He was arrested again on April 26, 2009. After crashing his car, police found black tar heroin inside it, resulting in felony charges. He was also charged with driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license, and possession of drug paraphernalia, but was released after posting $15,000 in bail.

    — Hulk Hogan is listed as the No. 2 trending topic tonight on Yahoo.com. Meanwhile, actor Gary Coleman, who passed away today after suffering an intracranial hemorrhage, was briefly listed at No. 9 but has since fallen out of the top search list.

    — TNA has added Roxxi to its roster page.

    — Roxxi is in Orlando, Florida and expected to work this week’s iMPACT! tapings. Four shows will be taped over the course of the next three days.

iMPACT!’s Disturbing Ratings Trend, Roxxi, Taylor Wilde

    — The final iMPACT! on Thursday nights averaged a 1.14 cable rating off of hours of 1.26 and 1.02, on par with last week’s number. That’s a crap rating heading into the first Monday show, but even more alarming is that viewers tuned out virtually every single quarter hour throughout the show. iMPACT! opened with a strong 1.31 quarter-hour and dropped consistently throughout the remainder of the broadcast, with the final quarter-hour drawing a show-low 0.93 rating. From the start of the show to its end, iMPACT! lost 30 percent of its audience.

    — It was reported this past week that Roxxi has once again parted ways with TNA. It should be noted that wasn’t released from the organization as she was never under contract to begin with. She was brought back last year on a per-per-appearance basis. Furthermore, she was not removed from TNA website’s roster page as she was never actually listed in the first place.

In related news, Roxxi announced yesterday on her Facebook account that she would not be returning to active wrestling at tonight’s Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU) event in Union City, New Jersey as she is still nursing a broken ankle which hasn’t fully healed.

    — Taylor Wilde is auctioning off the teal ring-worn outfit worn at No Surrender where alongside Sarita, were crowned the first TNA Knockout Tag Team Champions. You can view the auction at the following link. Bidding ends Saturday evening.

Reaction To Karen Angle Visiting Backstage, PPV Plans Scrapped

    — Most everyone within TNA said it was surprising to see Karen Angle backstage at TNA’s most recent set of television tapings.

“It was very uncomfortable,” said one source. “It was very awkward.”

Karen was there with boyfriend Jeff Jarrett for the first time in Orlando since their relationship was outed on the Bubba the Love Sponge Show last summer.

Karen and ex-husband Kurt Angle are said to be on good terms nowadays with Kurt not displaying any signs of being bothered by her presence. In fact, one backstage source recalled Kurt being nonchalant over their relationship until he and Karen had an argument over their children, which led in part to Jarrett being removed from the company’s day to day operations. The source recalls one wrestler in particular attempting to cause problems and fire up Kurt to confront Jeff last year, but he didn’t react.

    — TNA officials recently scrapped plans to make this month’s Destination X pay-per-view an all X Division show. While the X Division will be prominently featured at Destination X, it will no longer be the focus of the show.

“It would have looked like an indy show,” said one company source who doesn’t have faith in the X Division wrestlers being over enough to sell the show themselves.

    — When informed of the news of Roxxi departing from TNA earlier today, one wrestler expressed frustration over the company seemingly unloading one of the better workers from the women’s division.

Two More Wrestlers Gone From TNA

Sean Morley and Roxxi are the latest wrestlers to part ways with TNA Wrestling, reports PWInsider.com.

Morley finished up with TNA at the company’s last television taping where he pinned Jeff Jarrett in a Falls Count Anywhere Match in the backstage area. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion wrote on his Facebook account that his departure was due to accepting dates in Mexico.

“Yes folks, I am now through for now with TNA as I want to wrestle in Mexico,” Morley wrote. “I was going to perform in both TNA and CMLL but now with the switch to Mondays for TNA, and the fact that TNA had nothing solid yet, Mexico here I come!”

Morley debuted during the live Jan. 4 iMPACT!.

Meanwhile, Roxxi had been sidelined with an ankle injury she suffered during a match with Hamada late last year. She noted on her Twitter account that she was returning to the ring at an indy show tomorrow. She was not under contract during her most recent stint.
