AEW’s Rush has shared a touching scene in tribute to Akira Toriyama following the manga titan’s death this week at the age of 68.
Toriyama suffered an acute subdural hematoma, which is a type of bleeding near the brain, his studio reported following his death. Toriyama is best known for creating manga hit Dragon Ball, which has spawned shows, movies, video games and more. The main series follows Goku and his efforts to collect the titular Dragon Balls to protect the Earth.
Rush’s Tribute
Taking to Twitter, Rush shared that he had begun re-watching the series, this time with his new-born son. Rush was grateful to Toriyama for making him happy in his childhood and is grateful he can now share Dragon Ball with his son.
TODAY I STARTED WATCHING THE SERIES WITH MY SON AND WE HAVE 7 EPISODES OF DRAGON BALL Z THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME HAPPY IN MY CHILDHOOD AND NOW TO MY SON
Rush is hardly the only professional wrestler to have their life influenced by Toriyama and his hit manga series. For WrestleMania 32, the New Day donned armor similar to the Saiyan alien species from Dragon Ball. In 2020, Rhea Ripley wore a Vegeta-themed attire for her WrestleMania debut against Charlotte Flair in the crowd-less WWE Performance Center.
WWE Money in the Bank 2023 saw not one but two references to Dragon Ball. For her Women’s Tag Team Championship match, Ronda Rousey wore an attire based on Majin Vegeta, the darker version of the series staple. Zelina Vega, who has cosplayed several manga characters in the ring, wore an attire referencing series villain Frieza. The power of the Dragon Balls wasn’t with either Superstar as Rousey would lose her title match while Vega failed to capture the Women’s Money in Bank briefcase.
AEW star Rush has revealed that it’s only a matter of time before he makes his return.
‘El Toro Blanco,’ is the leader of La Faccion Ingobernable which consists of Dralistico, Preston Vance, and Jose The Assistant. But, he has missed a good chunk of in-ring action due to an injury and has been on the shelf. However, he has some plans in place to expand the faction this year.
In December last year, Rush participated in the AEW Continental Classic tournament but competed with an injury. He was part of the Gold League where he tallied six points by defeating Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal. However, he conceded defeats at the hands of Jay White, Jon Moxley, and Swerve Strickland.
Fellow AEW superstar and La Faccion Ingobernable member Dralistico recently revealed that he and Rush were in the process of getting their visas. His comments led to many believing that the visa issue was why he was not on AEW programming.
Rush is ready for his return
Taking to his Twitter/X account, Rush posted a video clip and wrote the following in the caption:
I have my WORK visa with #AEW
I am injury free and cleared to wrestle.
I am ready for everyone to see a REAL LUCHADOR, EL TORO BLANCO RUSH
?

AEW star Rush is currently working on getting a Visa through AEW. That doesn’t mean he was not injured.
‘El Toro Blanco,’ leads La Faccion Ingobernable which consists of Dralistico, Preston Vance, and Jose The Assistant. He recently revealed that he is planning to expand the faction this year. He has missed AEW action due to an injury and has been on the shelf for quite some time.
In December last year, Rush participated in the AEW Continental Classic tournament but he pushed through an injury. He was part of the Gold League where he racked six points by defeating Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal. However, he faced losses to Jay White, Jon Moxley, and Swerve Strickland.
Rush managed to battle through his injury to compete in the tournament. After being on the shelf for more than a months he recently took to Twitter and announced his impending return.
Meanwhile, fellow AEW superstar and La Faccion Ingobernable member Dralistico recently stated that he and Rush were in the process of getting their visas. This led to many believing that the visa issue was the actual reason he was not on AEW programming.
Rush clarifies
Taking to Twitter/X, Rush cleared the air regarding his absence. He wrote:
“I was injured as confirmed by AEW doctors. Now I am recovered, I had a visa with someone else and now in the process of getting my visa through AEW. Stop posting bullshit for fucking likes. I don’t ever lie about injuries.”

AEW star Rush recently revealed that he aims to add more members to La Faccion Ingobernable.
‘El Toro Blanco,’ who has become one of the key figures in AEW, recently made it clear that he has bigger plans for his faction this year. He is expanding his already-dominating team, La Faccion Ingobernable which consists of Dralistico, Preston Vance, and Jose The Assistant.
Rush will add male and female superstars
Taking to social media, he stated that 2024 will see a bigger La Faccion Ingobernable, as a male superstar and a female superstar will be added to the group.
“2024 will see a bigger LA FACCION INGOBERNABLE I will add a new Man to the group And a WOMAN. NO PASA NADA #AEW#LFI“
In December last year, Rush competed through most of the AEW Continental Classic tournament while he dealt with an injury. He was part of the Gold League where he acquired six points by defeating Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal while he endured defeats to Jay White, Jon Moxley, and Swerve Strickland.
The tournament took a toll on the athletes. Rush, however, battled through his injury to compete. He also recently took to Twitter and announced his return after being away from in-ring action for more than a month due to injury.
“I WAS INJURED, AND NOW I AM CLEARED TO RETURN TO #AEW I HAVE BEEN HOME FOCUSED ON RETURNING LA FACCION INGOBERNABLE IS FULL OF ANGER AND READY TO START THE WAR #LFI #AEWDynamite,” Rush shared.
Rush inked a new deal with AEW in July and eyeing to achieve bigger things in the promotion. Last year at AEW Worlds End pay-per-view in December, Rush teamed with Lethal, White & Brody King to face Briscoe, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli & Daniel Garcia in a losing effort.
AEW star Rush recently revealed that he competed through the majority of the AEW Continental Classic tournament while dealing with an injury.
‘El Toro Blanco’ competed in the Gold League of the AEW Continental Classic where he acquired six points by defeating Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal while losing to Jay White, Jon Moxley, and Swerve Strickland.
The tournament certainly took a toll on the wrestlers and it turns out Rush pushed himself to the limits by battling through the injury.
Rush will be on the sidelines
In a social media post on Thursday, Rush revealed that he suffered a torn hamstring during his second Continental Classic match. He didn’t reveal the degree of his hamstring tear but he vowed to recuperate and make a comeback when he’s ready . He added the he will return hungrier than ever.
“In the #AEWContinentalClassic I tore my hamstring in the second match I had,” Rush wrote. “I will recover and return ready and hungrier than ever for a fight.”
The bout Rush is talking about was his victory over Mark Briscoe on AEW Dynamite on November 29. Since then, Rush has competed in four matches (three more on Dynamite as a Continental Classic match, and an eight-man showcase tag match at the Worlds End PPV on December 30). It is currently unclear how long Rush will be out of action.
Rush inked a new deal with AEW in July and he’s leading Los Faccion Ingobernables, having Preston Vance, the former member of the Dark Order, and Rush’s brother Dralistico in the faction.
Meanwhile, at AEW Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023, Rush teamed with Lethal, White & Brody King to face Briscoe, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli & Daniel Garcia in a losing effort.
We at SEScoops wish Rush a swift recovery.

With the round-robin format, there have been plenty of matches from the AEW Continental Classic, which fans will have no trouble finding. On YouTube, the AEW account has created a playlist of every match from the tournament in the order they took place. The playlist starts with the kick-off match between Swerve Strickland and Jay Lethal.
The final two videos are from this week’s Dynamite and see Jon Moxley Vs. Swerve Strickland Vs. Jay White in the Gold League finals and Eddie Kingston Vs. Bryan Danielson in the Blue League finals. The playlist also features weekly updates of the rankings as well as promos and segments connected to the Continental Classic.
Dragon Lee will be a fighting champion now that he holds the NXT North American Title, and his win has caught the attention of some stars outside of WWE.
This victory marks Lee’s first taste of WWE gold since joining the promotion in late 2022. Speaking in an NXT Digital Exclusive, the new champion was asked how he feels.
“How do I feel? I feel very happy. You know, I don’t even know if I can find the exact words to explain to you how I feel. Me siento como un campeón (I feel like a champion.) I’m ready for the next challenge. Whoever [is next, I’m ready].”
Lee was also asked about Rey Mysterio, who announced the match during the go-home WWE NXT before Deadline.
“Rey Mysterio supports me. That means the world. That means a lot. My superhero… Thank you Rey, this is for all my people.”
AEW Stars React
Dragon Lee is the new NXT North American Champion but he isn’t the only member of his family to wrestle. On Twitter, AEW’s Rush made it clear that he is immensely proud of his brother.
Dragon Lee is very happy to be the new NXT North American Champion, but Dominik Mysterio isn’t happy. Click here to check out the ex-Champion’s reaction.
Rush and Dralistico suffered a loss to AR Fox and Blake Christian to kick off ROH Final Battle yesterday. At the end of the match, AR Fox hit a 450 Splash and went for the cover. The referee counted to three but it looked like Dralistico kicked out in time. Rush and Dralistico threw a tantrum after the match to try and save the botched finish.
8 Best Moments from ROH Final Battle
It was a rough way to start the PPV but the rest of the card was strong enough to overcome a letdown of an opener. Rush attacked the referee and apparently has been “suspended” for the attack at Final Battle.
Jose the Assistant took to Twitter to announce they have been “suspended” for a week by All Elite Wrestling. Jose noted that Preston Vance was not suspended because he wasn’t “too involved”.
RUSH “assaulted” a Referee. We got fined $$ for using chairs. We’ve been SUSPENDED for a week by #AEW. Preston didn’t get too involved and isn’t suspended. You can’t fool the fans, they know the match ending was BULLSHIT. #ROHFinalBattle #LaFaccionIngobernable
ROH Final Battle 2022 took place yesterday afternoon in Arlington, Texas. Six title matches went down at the College Park Center and several changed hands. Claudio Castagnoli defeated Chris Jericho in the main event by getting him to tap out after 32 rotations in The Swing.
After the show, AEW President Tony Khan spoke to media and finally announced the future of Ring of Honor television. The future appears to be the backup plan, as Ring of Honor television will not have a home on TNT or TBS. Instead, Tony Khan announced that ROH TV will start sometime in the future on Honor Club, ROH’s subscription service on their website.
Rush is now under a full-time deal with All Elite Wrestling
AEW President Tony Khan officially announced that Rush has signed a full-time AEW contract today on Twitter after Rush had been on a per-appearance deal since making his AEW debut at Double or Nothing this May, where he was introduced in a pre-tape segment as Andrade El Idolo’s business partner.
Rush is All Elite
AEW
Khan wrote: “It’s official: @rushtoroblanco is All Elite! What a week for Rush! Yesterday was his birthday, today he’s All Elite, and it’s Rush vs. [John Silver] TONIGHT on Friday Night #AEWRampage! Don’t miss Friday Night #AEWRampage on @TNTdrama @ 10pm ET/9pm CT TONIGHT!”
His first match for AEW then took place in June. La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush, his brother Dragon Lee & Andrade El Idolo) took part in AEW’s Trios title tournament this summer and ended up losing to The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) in the first round.
rush is a former CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion, CMLL World Tag Team Champion, CMLL World Trios Champion, and Mexican National Trios Champion. He’s also a former two-time ROH World Heavyweight Champion.

As it turns out, Rush is not All Elite, after all.
The world-renowned luchador made a surprise appearance at last month’s AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view. During a backstage segment, Andrade El Idolo announced he was dissolving the AFO faction. He then introduced Rush as his new business associate.
The former Los Ingobernables partners could raise hell in AEW, but Rush reveals he’s not under contract with the promotion.
In a new interview with Lucha Libre Online, Rush says he’s working limited dates for AEW and is negotiating with Tony Khan about signing a contract.
Rush’s Status with AEW
“I am grateful to Tony Khan for giving me the opportunity,” said Rush. We are still under talks and negotiations. For now, there are just dates.”
– Rush isn’t signed with AEW just yet
“I already did the first jump, which is being in the PPV, and not just a segment, but they gave it the value that both Rush and Andrade have. They left that promo for the end. Nobody expected it, not even my own family.”
RUSH debuts at AEW Double or Nothing 2022
After holding the ROH World Championship twice, Rush now has his focus locked on All Elite Wrestling. He sees dream matches with AEW’s top stars and isn’t shy about name-dropping who he wants to work with.
“For now, my objective is AEW, I am now in AEW and I want to face the biggest names. I want everything! I am not going for the minimum. You name it! CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Moxley, Samoa Joe, the best they have.”
He continued, “Imagine Rush vs Samoa Joe. There’s a lot of material. Bryan Danielson vs Toro Blanco Rush, two ex ROH World Champions against each other. There’s Moxley, which they state is the most extreme one. They need to see a real Mexican badass. A lot of people have requested this match… Rush vs. Kenny Omega. We can finally have that match.”
During Saturday’s AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view event, Andrade El Idolo did a segment with his lawyer where he cut a promo about how he hates the name AFO and he’s not here to lose. He called the group losers. He has a new business partner and that is RUSH.
The segment was taped in advance as Andrade is on his honeymoon after getting married to Charlotte Flair this past Friday.
RUSH is best known for his time in MLW, NJPW, CMLL and Ring of Honor. He made his in-ring debut in 2007 before changing his name in 2009 while working for CMLL. He is a former CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion, CMLL World Tag Team Champion, CMLL World Trios Champion and Mexican National Trios Champion. He’s also a former two-time ROH World Heavyweight Champion.
He had been working for AAA as of late where he joined Killer Kross, L.A. Park and Konnan in a new group called La Facción Ingobernable. RUSH’s time in ROH wrapped up in January as he was among the names to be let go by ROH before the promotion was sold to AEW President Tony Khan.
Now a free agent, Rush hopes to compete for AEW and wants to compete against the company’s biggest stars. In a tweet on May. 7, Rush expressed a desire to wrestle against Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson, and CM Punk.
“For all my fans in America, after 8 months out of the ring, I’m back and stronger than ever. I want Rush vs. Kenny Omega, Rush VS Daniel Bryan, and Rush VS CM Punk,” wrote Rush.
anywhere, anytime i'm ready for that and more …🇺🇸 just remember you mess with the bull you get the horns !!! NO PASA NADA 👊🏿 pic.twitter.com/KqcbWvTpfr
Since the purchase of ROH, Khan has featured ROH title matches and had former talent in AEW. On the May. 4 episode of AEW Dynamite, the main event had Mercedes Martinez vs. Deonna Purrazzo for the Undisputed ROH Women’s World Championship. However, it doesn’t seem like a weekly ROH show isn’t happening soon.
Free agents like Rush want to return to ROH or sign with AEW, but it’s unclear if Khan will sign former ROH talent. Wrestling fans are also speculating if ROH will turn into a developmental system like NXT is to WWE. The AEW President shared after the purchase that he’s still unsure about the immediate future of ROH.

Could Another Wrestling Company Sign Rush?
While Rush is interested in AEW, it’s possible that another wrestling company could sign him. A wrestling fan expressed interest in other companies like Impact Wrestling or New Japan Pro Wrestling hiring Rush, which the former ROH champion retweeted. Impact Wrestling has also had former ROH talents wrestling competing for them.
MLW CEO Court Bauer has also expressed interest in Rush. In an interview with Busted Open last year, he shared that he tried to sign Rush before ROH did.
“Rush because I had him before and with my fans, I mean, I have a Spanish language show on beIN Espanol, we always go down to Mexico. We offered him a deal, Ring of Honor countered, and he went with Ring of Honor. I sold out Cicero Stadium with RUSH. I know his [drawing] power. I know the guy’s injured, but I think he’s gonna come back strong”(h/t Fernando Quiles Jr).
The free agent could have plenty of options on who he will sign with next.
MLW may have its sights set on a former ROH World Champion.
The wrestling world was hit with some stunning news this week. ROH will be going dark to undergo a “reconceptualizing” process. As a result, all contracted ROH talent has been released.
Could RUSH Return To MLW?
RUSH is one of the major names that is now without a job due to the ROH restructuring. There’s no doubt that he is an elite talent who won’t be out of work for long. The question is, where will he end up?
MLW head honcho Court Bauer has a history with RUSH and it’s a positive one. Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Bauer didn’t deny that RUSH is a great asset for any promotion.
“RUSH because I had him before and with my fans, I mean I have a Spanish language show on beIN Espanol, we always go down to Mexico. We offered him a deal, Ring of Honor countered and he went with Ring of Honor. I sold out Cicero Stadium with RUSH. I know his [drawing] power. I know the guy’s injured but I think he’s gonna come back strong.”
RUSH is a former two-time ROH World Champion. His second reign lasted 498 days. A good chunk of that was due to ROH going dark during the COVID-19 pandemic. He lost the championship to Bandido back in July.

A big name on the ROH roster will see his contract come to an end at the start of 2022.
That name is Rush, the former two-time ROH World Champion. Unfortunately for Rush, he’s dealing with an injury at the moment. He underwent surgery following a knee injury that he suffered during a tag team match. He is said to be out of action anywhere between 8-12 months.
During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Rush revealed that he will be a free agent in Jan. 2022.
“My contract expires in January. So far, we have not talked about a contract renewal. I am very grateful to ROH. I am also a man of challenges and goals, and I’m open to listening to everyone.”
Rush first captured the ROH gold back in Sept. 2019. He ended up losing the title to PCO but won it back in Feb. 2020. Rush would hold the championship for 498 days as ROH went dark due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Once the company got the ball rolling again, Rush lost the title to Bandido at the Best in the World event inside Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, Maryland back in July.

Rush has gone under the knife following an injury.
The former two-time ROH World Champion suffered a knee injury during a match at Glory by Honor. The injury was bad enough that he needed to undergo emergency surgery.
“Rush has undergone emergency surgery and his family sent us this image. Likewise; the Muñoz Dynasty will host a press conference next Thursday at noon to talk about the surgery and his future.”
Rush was scheduled to be a part of a Six-Man Tag Team Title match against Shane Taylor Promotions on Sept. 12 at Death Before Dishonor in Philadelphia, PA. Bestia del Ring will be replacing Rush.
Rush first captured the ROH World Title back in Sept. 2019. He defeated Matt Taven for the gold. Rush ended up losing the ROH World Championship to PCO at Final Battle 2019 after a 77-day reign.
Rush won the title back at Gateway to Honor. His second title reign lasted 498 days as ROH had a down period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rush lost the title against Bandido at Best in the World 2021.

It turns out that WWE had a chance to sign a big free agent in RUSH, but decided against doing so.
The company recently passed on signing ROH World Champion, according to a new report by Wrestling Inc. Per the report, WWE passed on signing RUSH because his asking price was too high. The top champion in Ring of Honor was represented by AAA during the negotiations.
WWE reportedly made an offer that was lower than expected. It is believed that “ROH has either re-signed RUSH or that they have come to terms on a new deal.”
Back in January 2019, ROH had confirmed that they sign him to a deal where he would later become the top star for them and ended up winning his first ROH World Heavyweight Title by beating Matt Taven that September at the Death Before Dishonor XVII PPV pay-per-view.
He was last seen in action for ROH at the Final Battle pay-per-view event last month when he successfully retained the title over Brody King. The finish of that match saw RUSH’s brother, Dragon Lee, and his father, La Bestia del Ring, get involved to help him get the victory.
It’s been reported over the last few months that WWE has been offering not only contracted talent, but also unsigned wrestler lower deals than they did in the past due to the budget cuts made related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ring of Honor is making its return to the UK with three big shows this month as part of the Honor United 2019 tour. The tour kicks off in London on October 25, then head to Newport on October 26 and will conclude in Bolton on October 27.
The company has now revealed additional details for the tour. In a press release, ROH has revealed that RUSH and Jeff Cobb will team up on the tour to take on PCO and Brody King of the Villain Enterprises. The tag team match will take place in Newport, Wales on October 26 at the Newport Centre.
RUSH and Cobb are doing great in ROH, with the former being undefeated in the promotion whereas the latter has only suffered one pinfall loss since signing with the company.

Dalton Castle vs Rush in a no disqualification match has been added to the ROH/CMLL/NJPW Summer Supercard on August 9th. Rush defeated Castle in short-order back in April at the G1 Supercard in MSG. The embarrassment of the quick loss led to Castle turning against his boys.
Castle then got him disqualified in a recent rematch with Rush at Mass Hysteria in Lowell this weekend, leading to the no disqualification stipulation for their match in Toronto.
ROH also confirmed that the team of Jay Lethal & Jonathan Gresham will take on Lifeblood’s Mark Haskins and Bandido on August 9th.
RUSH & DALTON CASTLE TO COLLIDE IN NO-DQ MATCH AT SUMMER SUPERCARD AUGUST 9TH IN TORONTO!
— ROH – Ring of Honor Wrestling (@ringofhonor) July 26, 2019
“Dalton Castle has yet to gain a victory over RUSH, but he certainly has succeeded in getting the intense luchador’s attention,” an ROH press release for the match reads. “El Toro Blanco is seeing red after Castle’s actions last weekend and is champing at the bit to get his hands on the former ROH World Champion. He will get his wish — in a no-disqualification match — at Summer Supercard in Toronto on Aug. 9.”
Original Los Ingobernables member, Rush, has been tearing through the ranks in Ring Of Honor (ROH) since his debut for the company. Most recently, he defeated former ROH World Champion Dalton Castle in 16 seconds at G1 Supercard.
His burgeoning popularity has sparked some discussion over where Rush could go once his initial ROH contract expires.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE officials have been interested in signing Rush for a while.
The only thing that could complicate their plans is Rush’s contract with Mexico’s CMLL. This contract doesn’t expire until early 2021.
WWE Warning
Earlier this year, it was reported that current SmackDown Superstar, Andrade, had essentially warned fellow luchadors, Rush and Dragon Lee. He allegedly warned them against signing with WWE. Rush would eventually sign with ROH.
Andrade’s warning would have come at a time of unhappiness with his position within the company. At the time, the company weren’t utilizing him much since moving him to the main roster.
Things have changed dramatically since this time for Andrade. He has since faced noteworthy opponents, often stealing the show as he did with Rey Mysterio, and is now dating Charlotte Flair.
Despite his unfortunate real-life losses, Andrade is in a much better place professionally than when he first issued his warnings.

One of Ring Of Honor’s more recent signings is Mexico’s, Rush. Since debuting for the company, he has enjoyed a string of success, quickly making a name for himself for those who may have been unfamiliar with him and his style. He also happens to be one of the founding fathers of Los Ingobernables. The group have been one of the top heel factions in CMLL history since their formation in 2014.
Speaking with SoloWrestling.com, Rush discussed his long-term plans with ROH and broached wanting to bring Los Ingobernables into the promotion.
“Sure, I’m gonna stay [for a long time] time in ROH,” Rush promised. “Big plans are coming for the ‘Big Ingobernable.’ In Mexico, Los Ingobernables was born. We are in Mexico, in Japan, and in other parts of the world. It would be great to have them in ROH with wrestlers from ROH’s roster. I’d love to do it during my time here. I’m studying English. I need, and I want to form Los Ingobernables here in ROH, too.”
Los Ingobernables De Japon
It was in 2015 that New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Tetsuya Naito would have an excursion to Mexico. During that time he would join Los Ingobernables, reinventing himself in the process. The end result would lead to an offshoot from the group, creating one of the most popular NJPW factions in recent memory in Los Ingobernables de Japon.
LIJ has already wrestled numerous times on ROH programming. It would be interesting to see how ROH would feature both LIJ and Los Ingonberables on their show if they chose to do so. Given their ties to NJPW, and Rush’s recent dominance, it would be a missed opportunity not to have them cross paths in any way.

On March 15th, 2019 ROH will hold its 17th Anniversary show at Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas. The promotion has just booked Rush vs Bandido for the show. It will be the first time the two luchadors have ever faced each other.
Challenge made and accepted! @rushtoroblanco faces off with @LuchadorBandido at #ROH17!
Rush and Bandido are both recent signings with Ring of Honor. Bandido signed with the promotion in December after reportedly being courted by both WWE & AEW.
There has also been speculation that Rush was warned against signing with WWE by Andrade. Rush signed with ROH last month. This was addressed by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently.
“In the case of Rush, he’s very close with Andrade, who pretty much warned him and Dragon Lee about going to WWE,” wrote Dave Meltzer. “Andrade’s advice was that WWE wasn’t what it was cracked up to being.”
ROH 17th Anniversary PPV – March 15th – Sam’s Town Live – Las Vegas
Only two other matches have been confirmed for the show thus far. Jay Lethal will look to defend his ROH World Championship against the leader of the Kingdom, Matt Taven. Taven has been claiming to be the real ROH champion in recent months. Lethal will also defend his title on night 2 of Honor Rising against TK O’Ryan later this month.
PCO & Brody King will also challenge for the ROH tag-team titles on the PPV. They won Tag Wars 2019 to earn a shot against the Briscoes.
Mexican wrestling star RUSH has signed an exclusive deal with Ring of Honor. He announced the news on Tuesday afternoon.
“To all the fans worldwide. The main man of Los Ingobernables, the White Bull RUSH, has a major announcement. For all the fans of ROH, I’m returning one more time, but not just for one date. I’m returning to stay! I’m returning to be the biggest star in ROH. Today, for all those who are hard-headed, for everyone, remember one thing. I am going there to stay My new home is called Ring of Honor. Remember it well. Whatever happens, happens. In the end, nothing happens dog.”
This is a major signing for Ring of Honor, which has been beefing up its roster since the departures of Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Hangman Page and SCU.
RUSH has been a top star in Mexico’s CMLL promotion. He made his debut for Major League Wrestling (MLW) back in November. Through CMLL’s partnership with Ring of Honor, Rush made his ROH on December 15th during the post-Final Battle TV tapings. RUSH is the latest wrestler that ROH has signed away from MLW, following PCO and Brody King.
RUSH had been scheduled to headline MLW’s April 4th WrestleMania weekend show against longtime rival LA Park. As a result of RUSH jumping to ROH, LA Park will instead face Pentagon Jr. Visit MLWTickets.com for details on how you can attend that show.
