Update On Roman Reigns’ Injury, News On A Former WWE Superstar’s Status

– As previously reported, former WWE Superstar Sakamoto was at the NXT live event this past week. As of last word, Sakamoto had not been re-signed by WWE.

– Roman Reigns ended up getting multiple stitches for the cut above his right eye that he suffered in his match with Randy Orton on Wednesday in Glasgow, Scotland. As noted, despite initial concerns, Reigns reportedly did not suffer a concussion as a result of the head collision.

    According to reports, Japanese wrestler Sakamoto has been re-signed by WWE. Sakamoto once appeared as Tensai’s assistance, but was released from the company in May of 2013. He was in attendance at last night’s NXT event in Orlando, and has been in the area for several days now.

    Additionally, some insist that Sakamoto was brought in to help translate for KENTA when he arrives. As previously reported, it’s still up in the air as to whether or not KENTA will be coming in to WWE.

  • WWE Talent Officially Demoted To Developmental, Video Message From Kelly Kelly, Jimmy Hart

    – Sakamoto, who appeared as Tensai’s servant, has been officially demoted to WWE’s developmental promotion, NXT. His WWE.com profile has been deleted and he is once again listed on the NXT website’s roster page.

    Despite being physically abused when Tensai became frustrated, Sakamoto still continued to be loyal to his master. The partnership, however, quietly ended over the summer when the Tokyo, Japan native stopped accompanying Tensai for his matches. He has not appeared for WWE since.

    – The former Kelly Kelly, Barbie Blank, is now on YouTube at BarbaraBlankCom. She released the following video message thanking fans for purchasing her 2013 calendar.

    – WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart stated on Twitter Friday that he has a “big announcement coming soon.”

    WWE Says Tensai Will Be Reprimanded For Inappropriate Remarks

    WWE has issued an apology for a video Tensai posted late Monday night on the video sharing network Tout that could be perceived as racially insensitive toward Asian people.

    “While in character, Lord Tensai (Matt Bloom) clearly took his storyline too far and he will be reprimanded for his inappropriate comments,” WWE’s statement reads, which was issued to multiple wrestling news outlets by company spokesman Kevin Hennessy.

    The video, which has since been deleted, showed him traveling with his “personal chauffeur” Sakamoto to Indianapolis—the site of tonight’s SmackDown taping—following Raw, and he remarked that it’s “very, very dangerous” to drive with a Japanese person. He then slapped Sakamoto as he drove and ordered him “to open his eyes.”

    Another racially charged remark toward Sakamoto was made on Raw as commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler quipped following the Tensai vs. Tyson Kidd match, “When Tensai beats up Sakamoto, he changes his name to Sum Ting Wong.”

    Tensai Makes Racial Remark In First Tout, Best of Road Warriors

    – Tensai made a racial remark in his first Tout video post. Noting he was traveling with his personal chauffeur Sakamoto to Indianapolis—the site of tonight’s SmackDown taping—following Raw, he remarks it’s “very, very dangerous” to drive with a Japanese person. He then slaps Sakamoto as he’s driving and orders him “to open his eyes.”

    – WWE.com has uploaded a playlist of The Road Warriors’ greatest moments. Highlights include defeating The Nasty Boys to win the WWF Tag Team Championship, clashing with The Midnight Express in the dangerous Scaffold Match, a WarGames Match against The Four Horsemen at The Great American Bash in 1987, a match against Harlem Heat in 1996 and more.

    – Ezekiel Jackson, who has sparingly appeared at WWE events in recent weeks, noted on Twitter that he will not be on hand for tonight’s SmackDown taping in Indianapolis, Indiana.

    – Alicia Fox paid a visit to Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health on Tuesday prior to SmackDown. The WWE Diva sent out a Tout noting her appearance.

    Tensai Being Re-Packaged & Sakamoto To Wrestle, PPV Pre-Shows

    – WWE is currently in the process of re-packaging Tensai. After his recent attack on Sakamoto two weeks ago, their association is likely over.

    Sakamoto is expected to start wrestling within the next few months. He’s been wrestling since 2003 and was trained by former WWE star Taka Michinoku at his Kaientai Dojo school in Japan.

    Foley Making A Dramatic Change, Hogan’s Wildest Interviews

    — Mick Foley stated Wednesday via Twitter that he has been advised to lessen his time in front of a computer due to his history of concussions.

    “Strange but true news of the day: two leading concussion experts have advised me to cut back dramatically on my time in front of a computer,” he wrote. “So, I’ll have to make some changes, including the amount of time I spend reading and answering my Twitter messages. Hope you understand.”

    — According to a source within WWE, Bill DeMott is expected to assist John Laurinaitis in shaking off ring rust for his scheduled match against John Cena at Over the Limit on May 20. He began training Friday at a warehouse the company owns in Norwalk, Connecticut in preparation for the bout.

    – A fraudulent Twitter account for Lord Tensai’s manager Sakamato said his master would be waiting for Evan Bourne when he returns from injury. Bourne responded, “What kind of man has a master? #iaintscared”
