Update On Sammy Guevara After Being Stretchered Out Of ROH Tapings

Both Sammy Guevara and indie wrestler Kelly Madan seem to be doing well after being stretchered out of the latest ROH tapings before the Dynamite anniversary show.

Guevara was knocked out after delivering a cutter to Serpentico during their match. There were serious concerns among colleagues and the management about his well-being after the incident.

Though PWTorch is reporting that the former TNT Champion was seen walking around on his own backstage after being treated and evaluated. Anyone who didn’t know about his match, wouldn’t have guessed about it.

Independent star Kelly Madan also found herself in a similar situation. She was knocked out during her match with Lady Frost last night in Pittsburgh.

Madan was taken to the Peterson Events Center next door after being stretchered out of the arena. Per PWinsider, the word-making round among AEW talents was that she suffered a concussion but was coherent and alert last night. She did not suffer any other injuries.

It’s worth noting that concussion symptoms can appear within a few days of the injury so it’s likely that both the stars will be kept away from action for a while for further evaluation.

Fans would remember Adam Cole dealing with some scary symptoms that developed a month after his Forbidden Door 2022 concussion that kept him out of action for almost 9 months.

SEScoops wishes a speedy recovery to both the wrestling stars.

Sammy Guevara Stretchered Out of ROH Taping Before Dynamite

Sammy Guevara has suffered a legitimate injury during the Ring of Honor taping before the 5-year anniversary special of Dynamite.

One-half of the current ROH tag champions wrestled Serpentico in a match during the taping. SEScoops correspondent Dominic DeAngelo was in attendance for the show. He noted that Guevara landed awkwardly while delivering a cutter to his opponent and then he didn’t get up.

The match was stopped immediately after it and a video of medical professionals attending to the former TNT Champion has surfaced online. Guevara was then stretchered out of the arena.

This was one of the two injuries reported during the night as a female enhancement talent was also stretchered out after suffering an injury during a match with Lady Frost.

Frost landed a move off the top rope which appeared to have knocked the female talent out. PWInsider has since identified her as indie wrestler Kelly Madan.

Sammy Guevara had only returned to action in August this year. He had been off TV since February after being suspended for not following concussion protocols in a match with Jeff Hardy.

Guevara has formed a team with Dustin Rhodes since returning to TV and has been working on ROH regularly. The duo won the ROH tag team championships during the August 17 episode of AEW Collision.

Stay tuned for more updates on his health.

AEW Stars Compete Before Jacksonville Jaguars Home Opener

All Elite Wrestling is home to several Hispanic wrestlers who wow fans each week with their skills in the ring. This past weekend, AEW kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month in style by presenting a special Lucha Libre match before the Jacksonville Jaguars’ home opener.

In an electrifying tag team contest, Sammy Guevara and Hologram defeated the team of The Beast Mortos and Matt Taven in a two-out-of-three falls match. This win makes Hologram 10-0 in AEW after debuting for the promotion earlier this year.

AEW President Tony Khan addressed the crowd beforehand, expressing AEW’s dedication to celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and the Jaguars’ success.

This match wasn’t the only way Jaguars fans got to see the stars of AEW as Wardlow, Harley Cameron, and reigning Women’s World Champion Mariah May were in attendance at the game. This marked a rare appearance for Wardlow, who hasn’t competed for AEW since the Big Business: Dynamite in March of this year.

Despite the influx of AEW talent at the game, the Jaguars lost to the Cleveland Browns 18-13. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from the world of AEW as the company continues on the road to its Grand Slam: Dynamite special.

Latest On Reports Of A Backstage Incident At AEW All Out 2024

AEW All Out 2024 was another huge night for Tony Khan’s promotion, with a shocking heel turn, title matches, and a violent main event. A reported incident backstage has recently drummed up speculation of more trouble within the company and we now have an update about what happened inside the NOW Arena.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez confirmed that “security dudes just started sprinting” before the AEW World Title match between Bryan Danielson and Jack Perry.

What happened was apparently there was some incident with one of the wrestlers that wasn’t on this show, they were shooting something backstage, and this wrestler and a production guy got into a big thing. Some people are saying it was absolutely nothing but it was big enough that security sprinted backstage.

Alvarez adds that the two sides “talked it out and everything ended up okay.” The security personnel would return to their posts in time for the pay-per-view main event between Swerve Strickland and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page.

With the wrestler involved in this alleged incident not being part of the AEW All Out card, that rules out several notable names including The Young Bucks who were suspended in 2022 for their role in ‘Brawl Out.’ On Twitter, Tay Melo stated that her husband Sammy Guevara, who was not booked for All Out 2024, did not have an incident backstage.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on AEW and the fallout from the promotion’s latest pay-per-view.

Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara Win ROH World Tag Team Titles On 8/17 Collision

The ROH World Tag Team Championships found new owners this week as Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara now hold the gold. The pair captured the title from The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) during the latest episode of AEW Collision with Guevara delivering a Swanton Bomb on Bennett, allowing Rhodes to secure the pinfall.

The match saw plenty of action in and out of the ring. Roderick Strong, The Beast Mortos, Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly, Marshall Von Erich, Ross Von Erich, Tomohiro Ishii, Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, and Toa Liona all ran in, sparking a brawl on the outside. Of this group, only Strong directly influenced the match by hitting Rhodes with a running kick.

This victory marks the first ROH Tag Team Championship reign for both Guevara and Rhodes and makes the latter a double champion. Rhodes is also currently one-third of the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions alongside The Von Erichs.

The Undisputed Kingdom’s reign as champions lasted 234 days and began at Dynamite: New Year’s Smash in December 2023. The pair won the titles as The Devil’s Masked Men and their identities were revealed at AEW Worlds End days later. As champions, Taven and Bennet had five successful title defenses. Their final successful defense came during the July 28 taping of ROH on Honor Club and saw them retain against Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean.

This is a huge win for Rhodes and Guevara, the latter of whom only recently returned following months of inaction. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on the new ROH World Tag Team Champions.

Sammy Guevara Says He Is Not Stuck In A Vortex Anymore After Returning To AEW

Sammy Guevara has made his return to AEW TV after 6 months and proclaimed that he is not stuck in a vortex anymore.

The former AEW TNT Champion originally made his wrestling return during the August 1 episode of ROH. He saved Dustin Rhodes from The Dark Order.

The 31-year-old made his AEW return during the August 3 episode of Collision. He spoke with Rhodes and The Von Erichs (Marshall and Ross Von Erich) in a backstage segment.

Sammy noted that Dustin may not trust him due to his past record but he is looking to earn that trust. Guevara then stated that he had been stuck in a vortex for a long time and for the first time in 5 years, he was ready to be his own man:

The Spanish God reiterated his words about earning the trust of the wrestling veteran before saying that he wants to team with Dustin and Von Erichs.

Sammy Guevara Wants To Be His Own Man

Sammy Guevara had wrestled Jeff Hardy in a No Disqualification match during the February 14 episode of Rampage this year. His knee hit Hardy’s head during a spot in the bout and Guevara was suspended from AEW for not following the concussion protocol and stopping the match after this spot.

The young star has been associated with Chris Jericho in AEW since the early days of the company. He was one of the members introduced as part of Jericho’s Inner Circle faction during the premiere episode of Dynamite.

This partnership has continued on and off for the last 5 years but the latest promo from Guevara suggests that he has finally ended that association and he is ready to do things on his own.

Sammy Guevara Returns With a New Look At AEW ROH Tapings

Sammy Guevara made a surprise return to pro wrestling at Sunday’s Ring of Honor tapings. The Spanish God did a run-in to save Dustin Rhodes from the Dark Order, marking his first appearance in the past five months.

Guevara’s absence was due to a suspension following an in-ring incident with Jeff Hardy during a match on February 16th, where Hardy suffered a broken nose and concussion. Guevara continued the match despite Hardy’s condition, violating concussion protocol.

The suspension was lifted earlier this month. Now that he’s back in Ring of Honor, Sammy Guevara is expected to be factored into AEW’s creative plans soon.

Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo Are Training For Return To Action

AEW star Sammy Guevara recently revealed that he and his wife, Tay Melo are training to make their comeback.

Taking to his X account, Sammy Guevara praised his wife. He also informed fans that he and Tay Melo are training for their impending returns. It was last year in November that the couple was blessed with a baby girl and Guevara has revealed that Tay has been working hard while also being a great mom and wife. Here is what he wrote:

“Just wanna say this mama right here is doing such a great job.

We are both training for our comebacks and I wish yall could see how much work she puts in. Some days are harder than others but she has been killing it, all while being a great mom and wife!

She doesn’t give herself the credit so just wanna say you are doing great mama & we all can’t wait for your return”

Sammy Guevara was suspended from AEW

The former TNT Champion has been away from the promotion for quite some time after being suspended. During the February 16 edition of AEW Rampage, Jeff Hardy suffered a broken nose during a No DQ match with Sammy Guevara. It was also noted that during the match, Hardy also suffered a concussion. However, Guevara didn’t follow the concussion protocol, and ‘The Spanish God’ performed his finisher.

His last match took place the following week when he endured a loss against Powerhouse Hobbs on AEW Collision before getting suspended by AEW. Meanwhile, Tay has not competed in the ring since March earlier this year.

Let’s get into it…

WWE News

Jade Cargill: I’ve been informed that Jade Cargill is not dealing with any injuries. Upon inquiry, I was informed that significant plans are in place for her future, described specially as “big plans.” They have a plan in place for her, so fans need to be a bit more patient.

CM Punk Injury Update: Also, on a related note, CM Punk was spotted training without his arm brace on. That is a great sign for his recovery progress, but we’re still MONTHS away from that happening.

AJ Lee Rumor: I ran an exclusive story last night about AJ Lee’s current status with WWE. A report was going around saying that talks are ongoing, but I had to clear everything up. At this time, there are no such discussions.

WWE Scripts: SEScoops ran an exclusive story about exactly how long WWE has been having their scripts approved. It seems that this practice hasn’t been going on for too long at all.

Bray Wyatt Documentary: We’re going to keep mentioning this, because everyone needs to see this. Bray Wyatt’s upcoming documentary, Bray Wyatt: Becoming Immortal, will drop on April 1st. WWE made the official announcement yesterday, and fans should expect quite a presentation for that passion project.

Blue Chipper: WWE higher ups are seeing big things in Oba Femi’s future. He’s a massive star for the company with years to go on him.

Apology: NXT star Brooks Jenson has been getting backlash for wearing an Ole Anderson t-shirt on television after the legend’s recent death.  Despite his accomplishments in wrestling, Anderson has a well-documented history of racially insensitive comments and general ‘old-school’ / caveman opinions. \

Jenson issued an apology for wearing the shirt and said he wasn’t aware of Anderson’s questionable behavior.

RAW Ratings: The March 18th episode of WWE RAW, which took place at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, attracted 1.69 million viewers, marking a 4% decrease from the previous week’s broadcast. The 0.55 rating in the P18-49 demographic was essentially even with the previous week’s 0.56.

Tony Loves His CEO: Tony Khan endorsed Mercedes Mone as the next face of AEW. He gushed about her being one of the top signings in company history and said she’s got all the tools to help grow the company.

Lost In The Jungle? Speaking of TK, it seems that he’s still upset with ‘Jungle Boy’ Jack Perry for his role in CM Punk’s departure from AEW. That said to be the reason why we haven’t seen him on TV since his suspension.  Perry still under contract with AEW, and competing in NJPW.

Matt Hardy at RAW: Matt Hardy and his wife Reby were spotted in a luxury box during WWE RAW in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was there visiting friends and sources backstage said they didn’t see Matt mingling. Hardy later claimed that he was only in the building for about an hour and a half.

Sammy Guevara Grateful for Fan Support Amid Latest Suspension from AEW

AEW’s Sammy Guevara has expressed his gratitude to fans who have shown their support amid his ongoing suspension from the All-Elite promotion.

Guevara was suspended earlier this month from AEW for going against protocol during a match with Jeff Hardy. Hardy would suffer a broken nose during the match and was suspected to have suffered a concussion. While Jeff did not suffer a concussion, Guevara did not stop the match like he should have to allow for immediate testing, resulting in his suspension.

Sammy Guevara Speaks

In his latest Vlog, Guevara shared some of the highlights of his life outside of the ring, including spending time with his wife Tay Melo, and their child. At the end of the video, Guevara shared a message of appreciation to the fans.

“To the people who support me, whether it be at the beginning or in the beginning it in the middle or maybe this is your first video you’ve watched of mine, I just want to say thank you.”

Guevara added that he acknowledges he has made mistakes, but is trying to be better.

“I understand that I am a person who has made mistakes but I am also a person who has tried to be better.

“‘Roll with the punches’ is a saying that I truly understand now at 30 years old. Life will throw a lot at you. But it’s how you deal with those adversities that make you who you are. I know who I am and I know what I’m going after.

“See you at the top.”

Guevara’s Past Controversies

The incident with Jeff Hardy is hardly the first piece of notoriety for Guevara in AEW. Back in 2020, a chairshot from Guevara who used the wrong type of chair resulted in Jeff’s brother Matt requiring 13 staples. Hardy also took a nasty spill during a forklift spot at All Out that September.

In June 2020, Guevara was suspended for comments made in 2016 in which he said he wanted to “go r*pe” Sasha Banks. Guevara underwent sensitivity training and his salary at the time was donated to the Women’s Center of Jacksonville. Guevara would apologize publicly and in private to Banks, who recently joined AEW as Mercedes Mone.

Matt Hardy Speaks Out on Sammy Guevara’s AEW Suspension After Jeff Hardy Incident

Sammy Guevara is currently serving a suspension due to his involvement in a match against Jeff Hardy on February 14th. This was apparently news to Matt Hardy.

Matt Hardy has now reacted to Sammy Guevara’s suspension. He didn’t have a ton to say, but this was apparently breaking new to him when he heard that it happened. Matt was somewhat involved, because he got in the ring and gave Guevara the middle finger after the ordeal went down during that Rampage taping.

Matt Hardy Reacts

Sammy Guevara has maintained a consistent presence on AEW television since joining the roster in 2019. However, he has been involved with several incidents resulting in injuries to his opponents, including the most recent altercation involving Jeff Hardy. That doesn’t even count his backstage controversies, like his fight with Andrade.

As a consequence of these actions against Jeff Hardy, Guevara has been suspended from AEW. Following Guevara’s suspension, Hardy has now responded to the situation.

During the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy spoke briefly about Sammy Guevara’s suspension. He hadn’t heard anything about this suspension, but he did believe the report when he heard it.

“The whole thing about Sammy being suspended was all new to me until broken by Sean Ross Sapp, that was all new to me, but it is what it is, I guess.”

What’s Next For Sammy Guevara and Jeff Hardy

During this encounter in the ring with Guevara, Jeff Hardy sustained an injury, and it appears that proper concussion protocol was not followed. Additionally, Guevara executed his finishing move on Hardy, a maneuver that should have been avoided, but things transpired as they did.

Jeff Hardy did sustain a broken nose, but no concussion was reported. Now, he is in the middle of a slow process to receive his medical clearance once again.

SEScoops will have more on this story, and so many more, as things break in the pro wrestling world. You never know what can happen next, but we will be here witih the headlines you need.

AEW Suspension Fallout: Additional Ramifications Arise After Sammy Guevara’s Punishment

AEW laid down a suspension for Sammy Guevara when after his botches top rope move on Jeff Hardy went viral. Hardy was injured, and there is a lot to unpack now.

Guevara had plans in place for him in AEW, but that didn’t matter once this incident took place. Now, he is waiting on the sidelines, and that also leaves Chris Jericho without a partner.

The Spanish God’s Suspension

Sammy Guevara’s suspension stemmed from an incident during a match on February 14, where Guevara accidentally broke Jeff Hardy’s nose with a knee strike. Despite Hardy not suffering a concussion, the match continued, contrary to proper protocol, leading to Guevara’s suspension.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the intricacies surrounding a proposed tag team involving Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega, which ultimately didn’t materialize. Omega was taken out of action thanks to diverticulitis, and then Jericho went back to Sammy Guevara as his partner.

Meltzer explained how the plan evolved to include Jericho teaming with Sammy Guevara for a tournament, only for it to be trashed by Guevara’s suspension.

Meltzer noted the dissatisfaction regarding the handling of the situation, emphasizing that medical professionals should have intervened to stop the match rather than leaving it to Guevara. Consequently, the partnership between Jericho and Guevara was abandoned, leaving Jericho to potentially team up with Hook instead.

“In this situation, the doctors should’ve stopped the match, and it should not have been up to Sammy Guevara to take it home. And again, like what he was told, I mean, I guess whatever it was, the fact he did a GT H and nailed the guy with the knee after the concern of concussion was one of the reasons why it went the way it didn’t end up suspended. So anyway, yeah, so that was the deal with the Jericho and Guevara team is now out the window. So I guess it’s going to be Jericho and Hook.”

What’s Next

We will have to see how long Sammy Guevara’s suspension lasts. Since the length of Guevara’s time away from AEW is unclear, we will have to keep a close eye for his return.

Jeff Hardy is trying to get cleared for an in-ring return. His brother, Matt Hardy, commented to say that this will be a slow process.

On another note, Matt’s AEW contract is set to expire soon. The Hardys were supposed to have contracts that ran out at the same time, but Jeff Hardy’s breaks from the company caused Tony Khan to pause his deal.

SEScoops will have more on this story as additional details are made available.

AEW Takes Action: Sammy Guevara Suspended for Injuring Jeff Hardy in Botched Spot

AEW has their own way of handling things, and it appears that their disciplinary committee has handed down another suspension. This time, Sammy Guevara is getting some time off due to a recent botched spot.

Sammy Guevara and Jeff Hardy wrestled on the February 16 episode of AEW Rampage (taped 2/14). Guevara has been a Jeff Hardy fan for many years, as evidenced by him sharing this photo of the two together from well over a decade ago in the days leading up to their match.

Unfortunately, the match did not go as planned. Both competitors are known for their high-impact offense and know associated risks. This fateful encounter would leave Hardy with a broken nose and Guevara with a suspension (and a middle finger salute from one of the most decorated tag teams in wrestling history.)

Sammy Guevara and Jeff Hardy crossed paths many years before they’d meet in the ring

The Incident & The Suspension

Mid-way through the match, Hardy was injured and became disoriented.  Instead of giving Hardy sufficient time to to get checked out, Guevara climbed the top rope and executed his signature Shooting Star Press on Hardy. As seen below, Guevara botched the landing and inadvertently kicked Hardy in the face.

According to a report from Fightful Select, this was a violation of AEW’s concussion safety protocols and Guevara has been suspended accordingly.

The Suspension & Aftermath

Sammy Guevara attempted to apologize to Jeff Hardy after the match, but that also did go as planned.

Hardy was visibly upset and understandably so. A fan who was in attendance for the match captured this footage of the post-match altercation. Guevara extends his hand in an effort to make amends, but the Hardys weren’t having it.

Guevara wrestled one match since his bout with Hardy, a no-disqualification loss to Powerhouse Hobbs on the 2/24 episode of AEW Collision.

The timeline for Jeff Hardy’s return remains uncertain, but Matt Hardy recently let fans know it’s going to be a slow process.

AEW Disciplinary Committee and Guevara’s Past

AEW’s disciplinary committee is comprised of Bryan Danielson and two attorneys, according to Tony Khan on last week’s AEW Revolution media call.

Guevara was suspended from AEW back in 2020 and required to undergo sensitivity training. The disciplinary measures were handed down after ‘inappropriate’ comments he made about Sasha Banks/Mercedes Mone during a 2016 podcast appearance  resurfaced.

Guevara has also He’s also had serious backstage issues with Eddie Kingston and Andrade, who recently returned to WWE. It’s unclear if either of those situations resulted in a formal suspension, or if any of these prior situations factored into the severity of this latest suspension.

Jeff Hardy Has Slow Process To Endure Before AEW In-Ring Return After Injury

Jeff Hardy and Sammy Guevara’s match on Rampage last week didn’t end the way anyone wanted it to. Guevara accidentally landed on Hardy’s face off a top rope move, and controversy was sparked from there. Now, we have a bit of an update on Jeff’s status.

AEW had to switch around plans for Jeff Hardy after that injury spot. It was reported that he did not sustain a concussion, but that broken nose still wasn’t a great thing at all. Matt Hardy has another look at the situation from his own point of view.

Jeff Hardy Update

During a recent episode of Matt Hardy’s Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, he opened up about his brother’s condition. He said that Jeff broke his nose, and he’s getting some tests done now.

The process is not a fast one, and Jeff Hardy will be out of action until he gets a green light from the doctor. Now, it is a waiting game at this point.

“Obviously, Jeff’s nose, as I said, it was broken, had a couple little breaks in it. He’s getting some tests done on his sinuses to see how his sinuses are doing. It’s not a fast project. These things move slow, but we’re just trying to make sure his health is first and foremost and putting that above everything else. So that’s the main thing kind of to update on the status of him.”

The Footage Went Viral

That spot went viral, as fan footage of the match spread online in a hurry after Guevara’s knee landed on Hardy’s face. That was not the way that spot was supposed to end at all. Now, Jeff is out of action.

Sadly, AEW issued a bunch of takedown notices for any video that leaked of Jeff Hardy’s injury. They are known to do that, and they struck again with DCMA takedowns.

SEScoops will have continued coverage of this story, and many more in the pro wrestling world. We will have to see how long Jeff Hardy is out of action, but fans are not 100% thrilled about the circumstances.

New AEW Dynamite Logo First Look, New Stage To Debut On 3/6

AEW appears to be fully embracing a new beginning for the company in light of Sting’s retirement.

The company is set to send Sting off in a big way as “The Icon” will be competiting in his final match at AEW Revolution on March 3 in a city he’s very familiar with in Greensboro, NC. However, although Tony Khan and AEW are losing a bonafide legend in the business with Sting’s exit, the company aims to ride that moment right out of Revolution.

Notorious AEW fan Drainmaker on X noted that on Sammy Guevara’s latest video blog that the company is set to reveal a new logo and set for Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite.

The logo AEW Dynamite logo has been spotted in the wild for the first time in this ad for an upcoming Dynamite from Winnipeg. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast says he’s seen a “different color logo” so there may be variations to this logo when it premieres on TV.

Those changes won’t take place until after Revolution, but Guevara, along with Matt Sydal did note that they saw the new logo ahead of time. Sydal commented on the new logo in time during Sammy’s video.

“It looks good. A good color scheme. It’s kind of Neo.”

New Look AEW Dynamite

This Wednesday will mark the final week for the current look of AEW as they hail out of Huntsville, AL.

My This new look will only be a week away from when AEW presents Big Business from Boston where all signs point to Mercedes Mone making her very long-awaited debut with the company.

As AEW has built towards Revolution, they have been making some significant changes not just externally, but internally. QT Marshall is back in a behind-the-scenes role with the company, but an even more notable move is the hiring of Jennifer Pepperman, former senior writer at WWE and daytime Emmy winner. Pepperman happened to leave her position at WWE not even a week before it was announced she inked a deal with Tony Khan.

Eric Bischoff Blasts AEW For Recent Jeff Hardy Injury Scare: “It’s A Mess”

Eric Bischoff is not happy with the recent Jeff Hardy injury scare.

The Charismatic Enigma faced Sammy Guevara in a No Disqualification match on last Friday’s edition of Rampage. A clip from this match went viral on social media which saw Guevara botching a top rope dive and hitting Hardy on the face with his knee.

The former WCW president talked about this spot during the most recent 83 Weeks Episode. Bischoff was asked if such repeated botches are a result of talent wrestling a lot less frequently in AEW, and the wrestling veteran explained that AEW’s culture to promote high risk moves is also to blame:

“Very concerned for Jeff. He took that knee right to the side of the face. I don’t know where it actually hit him, but it looked to me like it planted right on his cheekbone, his temple. That’s a lot of power coming down off, that’s a lot of weight coming down off that top turnbuckle and there’s nowhere for Jeff’s head to go. So, fearful clearly, I didn’t really ask myself why.

But I think your observation’s probably mostly correct. Part of it is too because of the nature of what AEW finds appealing is so much of the high risk, justified ‘this is awesome’ chants, which usually are a result of something really, really high-risk and stupid. That’s what they’re going for. I think the talent probably feels like they’ve got to go to an extreme to get over.

Particularly cos you’re wrestling in front of 2000 people on a television show. The audience isn’t into your shit at all from the opening match on. It’s like wrestling in front of a high school cafeteria crowd. That makes it harder for talent and they push even further and they do things that are even riskier to try to overcome that issue.”

“What’s It Gonna Take?”: Eric Bischoff

Eric Bischoff also refuted Wrestling Observer’s report on Jeff Hardy’s status after the match. He questioned what will it take for officials to make an effort and tone things down:

“But I think mostly it’s the reps. Guys are just not as tight and sharp as they would be if they’re on the road three or four or five days a week. It is an issue. I think Dave Meltzer reported finish went according to plan and it’s not that big of an injury. I have heard substantially the opposite. It’s a mess. It’s a mess, and it’s a mistake.

Somebody’s gonna get hurt. Seriously hurt. People get hurt all the time. You start taking knees to the head from the top rope. What’s it gonna take? Somebody’s gonna need to die? Somebody’s gonna have to get brain injuries before somebody finally wakes up and goes ‘ok we need to get a little better control over what we do and how we do it.’ I don’t know. Hopefully not.”

Jeff Hardy’s Injury Status After Botched Spot During AEW Rampage

Jeff Hardy and Sammy Guevara’s match on AEW Rampage is getting attention for all the wrong reasons. A botched spot resulted in a lot of fear among fans that Hardy was injured. Now, we have the latest update on his health status.

Jeff Hardy’s Injury Status

During the AEW Rampage taping this week, Sammy Guevara executed a shooting star press, and unfortunately, his knee landed heavily on Hardy’s face. Although the incident appeared severe, Hardy confirmed he was alright, and the match continued with Guevara executing a GTH finisher.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jeff Hardy sustained a broken nose but, fortunately, no concussion during his match taped on February 14th against Sammy Guevara for the February 16th Rampage show.

Jeff Hardy suffered a broken nose but no concussion in his match taped 2/14 against Sammy Guevara for the 2/16 Rampage show. Guevara did a shooting star press and his knee landed hard on Hardy’s face. It looked bad but Hardy did say he was okay and they went right to Guevara doing a GTH finisher

What’s Next

It’s ironic that with all the risks Jeff Hardy takes, all he did was lay still on the mat this time. It was the Spanish God’s Shooting Star Press that did the damage. Hopefully, Hardy will not miss much time at all after this little setback.

AEW Rampage will reportedly kick off this week’s episode with Jeff Hardy vs Sammy Guevara. We will have to see how they cut everything together for television.

This is better news for Jeff Hardy, because things could have been a lot worse. Still, a broken nose is no fun at all. SEScoops is sending our best to Hardy has a heals up.

Jeff Hardy Possibly Injured After Brutal Spot During AEW Rampage Taping

Jeff Hardy recently made headlines when he expressed apparent disappointment about how the Hardys are booked on AEW television. He wrestled on Rampage this week, but that match sadly ended with an apparent injury.

Jeff Hardy Possibly Injured

After the February 14th episode of AEW Dynamite, the company recorded the upcoming Rampage episode airing on February 19th. That match featured Hardy taking Sammy Guevara in singles action.

At the H.E.B. Center in Cedar Park, Texas, where the taping took place, fans captured footage of Sammy Guevara striking Jeff Hardy directly in the face with a knee. This went down as Guevara nailed a top rope move on the Charismatic Enigma.

The match was promptly ended to provide Hardy with immediate medical attention, as he was visibly bleeding from the mouth and appeared disoriented when trying to stand. Fans in attendance also noted that Hardy appeared to be out of it, and Guevara is taking some blame online.

What’s Next

Because of NBA All-Star weekend, Rampage will air this week on February 16th at 7 PM EST. The episode will also feature Anna Jay against Queen Aminata.

The entire staff of SE Scoops is sending our best to Jeff Hardy during this time. Hopefully, he isn’t injured and won’t miss any time.

Sammy Guevara Sidelined With An Injury After Scary Bump

Chris Jericho has revealed that Sammy Guevara has sustained an injury that is likely to keep him on the shelf.

Guevara has been missing out on in-ring due to multiple injuries in the recent past. Last year, he suffered a concussion during WrestleDream pay-per-view event. During a trios tag match, Guevara joined forces with Konosuke Takeshita and Will Ospreay to face off Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Kota Ibushi. This battle culminated with Guevara pinning Chris Jericho.

Sammy Guevara injured

The former TNT Champion has yet again suffered an injury on last week’s AEW Battle of the Belts IX. Ricky Starks and Big Bill put their AEW World Tag Team Championship on the line against Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in a Street Fight.

In the final moments of the match, Guevara dived off a lighting rig onto Starks. However, Powerhouse Hobbs pulled Starks out of the way to make the save and Guevara crashed onto the floor as Starks pinned him for the win. It seems that it was at this moment, ‘The Spanish God’ sustained an injury. Here’s what Chris Jericho said:

Sammy Guevara eyeing to be cautious in the ring

Sammy Guevara has high-flying moves in his arsenal but they are quite risky to execute. A slight mistake could lead to injuries. Though he attempted a risky move this past week, Guevara had previously stated that he would be more cautious with his high-flying spots in the ring now that he and Tay Melo are parents.

The couple recently welcomed their first child, a baby girl Luna. Guevara could not be happier to be a dad but given his new role as a father, he needs to be more cautious.

Speaking on the Insight podcast, Guevara spoke about how becoming a dad will likely change his wrestling style. He said:

“It’s pretty cool for sure and now it’s got me thinking differently just in wrestling. Because I’m used to doing all the ‘I’m Crazy ‘ stuff but now I’m like, yeah, I guess I can’t be that crazy anymore… I don’t know if we’re going to dial it back but I think we’ll be more selective with how and when we do the crazy stuff.”

The details of the injury are yet to be disclosed but fans are hoping that it won’t keep him away from the squared circle much longer.

We at SEScoops wish Sammy Guevara a speedy recovery.

Sammy Guevara Will Be More Selective of “Crazy” Spots Now He’s a Dad

AEW’s Sammy Guevara will be more cautious with his high-flying spots in the ring now that he and Tay Melo are parents.

The couple welcomed their first child last month, a baby girl by the name of Luna. Guevara and Melo announced that they were expecting at Double or Nothing 2023 before the main event four-way match which saw Guevara challenge for the AEW World Championship.

Sammy Guevara Will be More Selective

Guevara could not be happier to be a dad, but his new role will affect his role in the ring. Speaking on the Insight podcast, Guevara spoke about how becoming a dad will likely change his wrestling.

It’s pretty cool for sure and now it’s got me thinking differently just in wrestling. Because I’m used to doing all the ‘I’m Crazy ‘ stuff but now I’m like, yeah, I guess I can’t be that crazy anymore… I don’t know if we’re going to dial it back but I think we’ll be more selective with how and when we do the crazy stuff.”

Guevara recalled some of his ‘crazy’ spots, including a spot from Lucha Underground that the new father will be in no hurry to replicate.

“There was stuff in Lucha Underground, doing a moonsault 14 feet in the air to Jake Hager. Who bless his heart, tried to catch me, but there’s only so much you can do.”

Guevara on Melo’s Scary Situation

While becoming parents was a joy for Guevara and Tay Melo, it did have a very scary incident. On the podcast, Guevara recalled Melo dealing with health issues immediately following the birth.

“When she gave birth, they had to stitch her up, because she had a tear. And then, they almost had to send her to the OR because she was having a reaction from the epidural. So it was a scary moment. She’s holding the kid and then all of a sudden, she’s shaking like crazy. Her skin turns a different color, really pale.  Then she started throwing up… It was scary for a minute.

“We were there for 25 hours. Crazy. The lead up to it too. Everything at the hospital and the whole pregnancy. I always joked that we’re going to have seven kids. But man, after that first one, it’s whatever she wants to do.”

Guevara returned to AEW TV on this week’s Dynamite and turned face against the Don Callis Family. He will compete in an eight-man tag-team match at this weekend’s Worlds End event.

RVD Questions AEW Talent’s Respect Level For Veterans

AEW promised a new era of professional wrestling when they opened their doors. Their rebellious branding may have also filtered into their backstage environment as well, because the company has a reputation of having younger talent who aren’t interested in taking veteran advice.

CM Punk and Jack Perry’s backstage scuffle at All In London was caused by Perry’s defiant nature. Punk advised against Perry using real glass several weeks prior, but he didn’t have a say in his match at Wembley Stadium. After Perry dropped Hook on the windshield of a car, he made a point to tell the camera that it was real glass so, “cry me a river.”

The Backstage Rumor About AEW

It appears that RVD can back up that attitude that is currently in the AEW locker room. The Whole F’n Show has made a few AEW appearances so far, but never inked an official contract.

During an interview with Party with Marty, RVD stated that he’s head the same thing from Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson. AEW has those veteran minds around, but nobody is sitting under their learning tree.

“I heard Tully Blanchard say it, and I’m told Arn Anderson said it too, although that is hearsay, that the young guys don’t want their input ever. [They] never ask them ever for any help or anything on their matches and stuff … I mean, that’s important to me. It makes me think, do they think they know it all? Do they not respect them enough? But also, it’s awkward for them because they’re not taught like us to go around and shake everyone’s hand and stuff.“

AEW May Have A Problem

CM Punk had a great time at the WWE Performance Center. He reported while he was there as well. It appears that he found himself in a setting where younger talent were more than happy to listen. Life Goes On For CM Punk

CM Punk had a great time at the WWE Performance Center. He reported “held court” while he was there as well. It appears that he found himself in a setting where younger talent were more than happy to listen.

CM Punk and Jack Perry’s backstage altercation wasn’t the only one in AEW history. Other skirmishes and backstage drama have also dotted the company’s history, such as Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo’s public tiff, one that involved a backstage altercation.

AEW has a lot of veteran talent around, and we haven’t heard from all of them on this subject. Jake “The Snake” Roberts is backstage, and he has also spoken in the past that he is willing to do anything Tony Khan asks of him. We have to wonder if Tony Khan is supporting the practice of listening to the veterans he has on his payroll.

It seems that the rumor and innuendo would say that AEW talent aren’t too interested in hearing what the former generation has to say about what they’re doing for Tony Khan’s company.

Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo Stripped of AAA Titles

In May, Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo won AAA’s Mixed Tag Team Championship. They defended the titles several times in AEW, including at ALL OUT against Ortiz and Ruby Soho.

At AAA’s Noche De Campeones show, Guevara and Melo were scheduled to face Komander and Sexy Star II and Octagon Jr. and Lady Shani. The couple was replaced by Flammer and Abismo Negro Jr.

Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti

Prior to the match, Konnan announced that Guevara and Melo were being stripped of their titles.

“Sammy & Tay have canceled three times, not twice. They wanted their own referee & Tay wanted her own stylist, so I have made a decision. There were three orders of business: Number One, The titles have now been vacated. Number Two: I have already sent someone to the United States to get the titles. And Number Three: Whoever wins this Triple Threat Mix Tag Match will become the new AAA Mixed Tag Champions.” (h/t Fightful)

Flammer and Negro Jr. won the AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles.

Melo tweeted recently in Spanish that she was having visa issues, but that tweet has been deleted. Dave Meltzer said that there had been visa issues in the past, but it had been resolved.

Melo competed on the New Year’s Smash edition of AEW Dynamite. She and Anna Jay A.S. defeated the team of Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale.

Sammy Guevara Gets Heavy Boos from Dubai Crowd at Global Titans Debut

Are the fans in Dubai excited at the prospect of AEW’s Sammy Guevara one day stepping into the ring as a boxer?

In a word, no.

Guevara appeared at the Global Titans Boxing event in Dubai last night but served as a backstage correspondent and commentator.

Speaking to the crowd, Guevara asked if they wanted to see him in the ring one day, earning loud boos from the audience.

Irked by the response, the former AEW TNT Champion asked again and earned an even louder negative reaction.

Despite the negative reaction from the crowd at the Coca-Cola Arena, Guevara said he would consider getting in the ring under the right circumstances.

Sammy Guevara: Pro Boxer?

The crowd in Dubai may not be interested in seeing Guevara competing in pro boxing, but that is the reported plan.

After Guevara was announced for the Global Titans event, Dave Meltzer reported that the show’s promoters are hopeful that Guevara will compete at a future show.

The former AEW TNT Champion does not have any professional fighting experience.

Guevara in AEW

Joining AEW in February 2019, Guevara is a record-tying three-time AEW TNT Champion, an accolade he shares with Cody Rhodes.

Once part of the Inner Circle, Guevara is now part of the Jericho Appreciation Society.

The Spanish God’s actions out of the ring have also been noteworthy, as he engaged in an altercation with Eddie Kingston earlier this year, and was more recently attacked by Andrade El Idolo.

Guevara’s most recent match came on last week’s AEW Dynamite, where he lost to Bryan Danielson in a two out of three falls match.

After the show went off the air, Danielson offered to shake Guevara’s hand, who gave him the middle finger instead.

What Happened with Sammy Guevara After AEW Dynamite Went Off the Air?

Sammy Guevara was in no mood for sportsmanship after this week’s AEW Dynamite wrapped up filming.

This week’s Dynamite took place from the Aggannis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, and saw the promotion continue on the road to Full Gear.

Guevara and Danielson

In the main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite, Sammy Guevara faced off against Bryan Danielson in a two-out-of-three falls match.

The first fall saw Danielson get a DQ victory after being hit in the face with a steel chair by Guevara.

A rising knee strike to a bloodied Danielson quickly tied the score, with one victory each.

The tiebreaker fall saw Danielson win the match via submission, locking in the former three-time AEW TNT Champion into a double arm-bar submission.

After the show, Danielson offered his hand in a sign of respect, but Guevara did not shake back.

Instead, the Spanish God flipped off Danielson and stormed off to bring the show to an end.

Facing off Again

Guevara didn’t get the win this week, but will get another shot at Danielson at next week’s AEW Full Gear 2022 Pay-Per-View.

The pair will be joined by Claudio Castagnoli and Ring of Honor World Champion Chris Jericho in a four-way match for the Wizard’s title.

This week’s Dynamite also saw Saraya confirm that she is medically cleared and will also compete at Full Gear where she’ll face Britt Baker DDS.

AEW Full Gear will be headlined by AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defending against MJF, who earned a title match by winning the Casino Ladder Match at All Out.
