The following matches were taped on Tuesday night from San Jose, California for this week’s WWE shows:

Superstars:

* Wade Barrett defefated Tyson Kidd with his elbow smash finisher.

Main Event

* The Big Show defeated Randy Orton with a Chokeslam.

* Kofi Kingston defeated Michael McGillicutty with The SOS. Kofi issued a challenge to Intercontinental champion The Miz for next week.

Saturday Morning Slam:

* Brodus Clay defeated Cody Rhodes after hitting him with a big splash.

Matches Taped Tuesday Night For WWE’s Superstars, Main Event and Saturday Morning Slam

In matches taped Tuesday night at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma for this week’s episode of WWE Superstars, Tensai took on Yoshi Tatsu while the tag team of Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow squared off against Jey and Jimmy Uso.

Following this, the premiere episode taping of WWE Main Event kicked off with WWE Champion CM Punk facing World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus in the first-ever meeting between the two Superstars. Then, Santino Marella and Zack Ryder squared off against Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd in a semifinal match of the #1 Contender’s Tag Team Tournament. Commentary for the program was handled by Michael Cole and The Miz.

Finally, two matches were taped for WWE Saturday Morning Slam. WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro squared off against Derrick Bateman while Epico took on Brodus Clay.

JR Hosts WWE ’13 Panel (Video), SMS Comedy Match & NXT Stars Profiled

– This week’s NXT Superstar of the week is Leo Kruger, while Summer Rae is the NXT Diva of the Week.

WWE.com has a feature up looking at NXT published photos of NXT star Bo Dallas, son of WWE producer Mike “IRS” Rotunda. Dallas is seen as one of the top young developmental stars at NXT.

– WWE taped a match between Daniel Bryan and Tyson Kidd for this weekend’s Saturday Morning Slam show. The match received rave reviews from fans, who noted that it was a very entertaining comedy match that will appeal to the young audience of the show.

– THQ sent in this video from SummerSlam weekend, where Jim Ross hosted a panel of Superstars, Divas and Mike Tyson to hype the upcoming WWE ’13 video game.

Saturday Morning Slam Preview, “Freebird” Turns 60, Dolph Ziggler Appearance

– WWE announced during a commercial on Raw that Santino Marella will face Heath Slater on this week’s episode of Saturday Morning Slam on The CW. WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz will commentate the match ringside. The program will also highlight the cockiest Superstars in WWE history, with Cody Rhodes adding insight.

– “Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin turns 60-years-old on Tuesday.

Rosa Mendes Too Risque For WWE’s New Children’s Show?, Saturday Update On Jerry “The King” Lawler’s Health

– It would appear that Rosa Mendes is too risqué for WWE’s new kid-friendly program on The CW, Saturday Morning Slam. The sultry manager was nowhere to be found on this morning’s show when her men, Primo and Epico, took on Kofi Kingston and R-Truth in a tag team match. The match was taped before last week’s SmackDown taping.

The show is rated TV-G, a level lower than WWE’s general TV-PG rating. Due to the program being aimed specifically at children, it does not feature any moves or holds aimed at the neck due to what is seen as their violent nature.

– WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler continues to recover after suffering a heart attack on Raw Monday. Jim Ross provided an update on the wrestling legend’s health as of Saturday.

He tweeted, “@JerryLawler still hospitalized in Montreal but doing well. Better every day. Just needs to go slow & heal. Hopefully, will go home nx wk.”

Ross also said that Lawler will not be on hand for tomorrow night’s Night of Champions pay-per-view event: “King will NOT be @ NOC PPV. He had a HEART ATTACK Mon. Ask ur parents 2 explain. Cole won’t be going solo. I Suggest u watch.”

In regards to whether WWE will show support for Lawler this Monday on Raw, he said, “Likely an update, well wishes, paycheck.”

– Josh Mathews and The Miz did commentary.

– Santino Marella defeated Heath Slater. Major heel heet for Slater. They did a dance off and an air-guitar battle. Santino won with the Cobra.

– Santino then replaced Miz on commentary.

– Kofi Kingston and R-Truth defeated Epico and Primo after Kofi pinned Primo with a cross body off the top rope.

– Zach Ryder defeated William Regal with the Rough Ryder.

WWE Superstars Results:

– Antonio Cesaro defeated Justin Gabriel. Cesaro did his gimmick before the match where he said the word “Exceptional” in 5 languages.

– Divas champion Layla defeated Natalya.

It delivered a 0.7 U.S. household rating / 2 share in 747,000 TV households with 1,126,000 total viewers (persons 2+).
