Scott Steiner Promotes Redemption

As is usually the case with Scott Steiner interviews, he had plenty to say on several topics.

Transcriptions courtesy of Cageside Seats:

“Konnan’s gonna be doing what he always did in WCW after we finish this match. He’s gonna be carrying my bags and shining my belt. Maybe my shoes, too. Actually, he might come and cut my grass. I might have all three of them do it, really. I don’t know. I haven’t decided yet,” Steiner said in reference to Konnan, who will manage LAX on Sunday.

“They will be with Konnan, cutting my grass. I actually have a tee spot on my lawn where I need to be putting, so they better be just right. I hate golf. But they better cut my grass right. That’s what I don’t understand. Why does Trump want to keep out all the Mexicans, but who’s going to cut the grass? Seriously. I mean, that’s a legitimate question.”

Scott Steiner Goes Off on Dixie Carter and Hulk Hogan

Scott Steiner does not like Hulk Hogan. This has been clear for some time but Steiner re-iterated it again during the media call:

“The beginning was the most profitable time at TNA, as far as viewership, making money, merchandise and all that stuff combined. Unfortunately, that led to the next incarnation, which was working for dumba** Dixie Carter, that brought in the racist Hulk Hogan and all those other guys. That’s what killed it. Of course, I’ve let my feelings be known, and she put a lawsuit on me, because of the stuff I was saying on Twitter about Hogan.”

Impact Wrestling’s Redemption takes place Sunday, April 22nd, 2018 from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida.

Scott Steiner Blasts Triple H On Social Media For Recent Late Night Show Appearance

It’s well documented that ex-WCW World Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner isn’t the biggest fan of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, and he showed that earlier today (Sun. August 20, 2017) when he took to Twitter to blast “The Game’s” recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Fallon read one of his ‘Thank You’ cards that mocked Triple H’s name for sounding like an extra strength hemorrhoids cream. Triple H’s music then hit, he appeared, and slammed Fallon (a stuntman) through his desk and then promoted SummerSlam.

Steiner blasted Triple H for ‘blocking’ the younger talent and suggested a wrestler who was actually competing on SummerSlam should have took his place. Check out Triple H’s appearance and Steiner’s Tweets below:

Scott Steiner: Dixie Carter is a Joke

As we’ve previously noted, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) hosted a media call to promote their G1 Special shows from Long Beach, California from the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.

Former WCW Champ Scott Steiner participated on that call and talked about a variety of topics including his thoughts on Dixie Carter, his favorite moment with Impact Wrestling, the difference between Dixie’s management and Jeff Jarrett, and so many more. You can check out the highlights from Steiner’s portion of the call here:

Legal issues with Dixie Carter:

“I mean, [Dixie Carter] is a joke. She was basically a pain [in the butt]. Talked the truth about Hogan. She dropped the case and we’ll see what happens. It’s not over.”

His favorite moments with Impact Wrestling:

“My favorite moment was the Main Event Mafia. The champions were all together, and that was a lot of fun because you had a lot of history in the ring every time we stepped in the ring. A lot of us had been around for a long time, so the stuff that we did backstage, the stuff that didn’t make it on TV was also entertaining and funny. To date, that’s been the highest rated portion of TNA’s existence. A lot of people bought into it because of the reality of everything. It was a lot of fun.”

The difference between the management styles of Carter and Jeff Jarrett:

“If you talk to anybody, there’s a huge difference. When people see Jeff, they know that he knows what he’s doing. Clearly, everyone knew that Dixie didn’t know what she was doing. She was a mark wanting to be on TV. It’s night and day. People wanna come to work, they’re excited about what everyone is doing, and it is a totally different atmosphere.”

What changes should happen in professional wrestling:

“The first change they should make is getting rid of Stephanie McMahon and Hunter McMahon, because they’re two idiots who are running the whole place up there. It’s like, I feel sorry for the wrestlers nowadays. They’ve got to follow the instructions of these two idiots that clearly don’t know what they’re doing. They’re not watching because the ratings are down, and the reason why I call him Hunter McMahon is because she obviously wears the pants.”

Why he won’t be going into the WWE Hall Of Fame:

“I’m not going into the WWE Hall of Fame, because I’m not going somewhere where there’s nowhere to go. GPS the WWE Hall of Fame. Where’s it at? See, I’m not going somewhere where if I get in trouble or something, I can’t call 911. I can’t have a beacon call, or call the coast guard. Cuz, who knows? It could be in Atlantis for all I know. Or it could be in parts unknown. It’s a joke. How can you go somewhere that is non-existent? I’d be better off if the WWE Hall of Fame was on the moon… cancel your reservations if you want to see me, because it’s not happening.”

Scott Steiner Reveals Why he Refuses to go Into WWE Hall of Fame

Former WCW Champion Scott Steiner recently appeared on Ring Rust Radio to talk about a variety of professional wrestling topics, including his recent return to Impact Wrestling. He also revealed why he refuses to go into the WWE Hall Of Fame. You can check out what he said here:

The reason he first left Impact Wrestling:

“When I left nothing impressed me; that’s why I left. The change of management which was a problem because Dixie Carter is an idiot and then she brought in these other idiots like Hulk Hogan. I was just like damn; I got to get the hell out of here. I watched them from afar and their pockets kept getting run down and then thank God, someone else bought it, ran her out and now the right guy is back in charge being Jeff Jarrett. That’s basically who I started with before when Jeff started Impact Wrestling. I definitely wanted to come back and work for the organization again.”

Possibly being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame:

“I am already in a couple Hall of Fames like the Michigan Hall of Fame and the Dan Gable Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame so my accolades speak for themselves. Let’s just say I’m not losing any sleep over any Hall of Fame induction. The one Hall of Fame that I refuse to go in is the WWE Hall of Fame because do you know where it’s at? Where is it? Do you have an address? It’s a bunch of bulls—. If they called me up, I wouldn’t go because there’s no address; you can’t go see it, so, where is it? What do you think they do with that Ric Flair statue, the one he was jumping up and down over?

“Where do you think that statue is at right now? If you had to guess right now where do you think it’s at? I say it’s in Triple H’s bedroom. Let me ask you this, do you think they made a statue of Macho Man? If they made a statue of Macho Man where did you think it would be? It would be in Stephanie’s bedroom. It’s a freaking joke. If you can have a Hall of Fame, at least have an address. That’s the only Hall of Fame I laugh at. Come on man, give me a break.”

His generation’s promos compared to today’s generation in the WWE:

“I think why the fans could relate to me is because when I went out there, you could tell I was telling the truth. You could tell I wasn’t bulls—ting and I was putting it on the line and if people don’t like it, then do something about it. A lot of my frustrations were with management and a lot of my frustrations were with candy asses in wrestling like guys who weren’t tough, but try to come across as such. People could really tell how I came out and in the way, I spoke my mind, I was to the point, direct and really no bulls—. I think that’s why the people related to what I was saying.

“As far as nowadays, I feel sorry for guys, especially with what they do in the WWE. They are cookie cutters. You got 20 or 30 idiot writers with the two biggest idiots being Stephanie McMahon and Hunter McMahon. I say Hunter McMahon because I can’t tell which one is the bigger douche, her or him. I’ll give him her last name because he’s a man without a backbone. So, got those two and the 30 writers trying to write for all these guys and they all got the same mindset trying to make all these characters. When I came up, it was Macho Man and all these other guys and you had to come up with your own stuff. If you didn’t come up with your own stuff, you weren’t getting over. If you can’t relate to the crowd, can’t make people hate you, can’t make people like you, you didn’t have a job. Now it’s like do this, do this, do this, and everything is way too staged. It’s hard to watch, it really is. I feel bad for the fans because they are cheating the fans and that’s what happens when you don’t have competition. Look at the WWE, their ratings are just horrific. I don’t know what to say or what they will do. Go buy another company so you can bury some other guys? They are a bunch of a–holes. When you got competition, it makes people think outside the box. When the ratings are down you got to reach to a higher level and come up with different ideas. Nowadays you can put crap out there and if it doesn’t work, who cares? What else are they going to watch? That’s their mindset and it’s just disgusting.”

Scott Steiner Interview Highlights: Thoughts on Dixie Carter, Hulk Hogan, Jeff Jarrett and more…

“Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner appeared on the Ring Rust radio show recently. The former WCW champion spoke on his previous run in TNA, as well as his current run with Impact Wrestling.

Steiner also spoke on a possible WWE Hall of Fame induction, and whether or not he would accept a WWE offer for such.

Scott Steiner Interview Notes

On leaving TNA in 2012:

“When I left nothing impressed me, that’s why I left. The change of management which was a problem because Dixie Carter is an idiot and then she brought in these other idiots like Hulk Hogan. I was just like damn, ‘I got to get the hell out of here.

On his recent return to Impact Wrestling:

“I get paid to beat people up, which is the greatest job in the world. I legally can punch someone in the face and not get arrested for it, which most human beings can’t do. Nowadays, a lawyer calls you up and you get slammed with a civil suit so it really is the best job in the world. People pay me to punch someone in the face, Josh called me up, asked me if I want to punch someone in the face, and I said, ‘Yeah, pay me and it’s on’ and that’s basically how it went down.”

On a potential WWE Hall of Fame Induction:

“I am already in a couple Hall of Fames like the Michigan Hall of Fame and the Dan Gable Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame, so my accolades speak for themselves. Let’s just say I’m not losing any sleep over any Hall of Fame induction. The one Hall of Fame that I refuse to go in is the WWE Hall of Fame because do you know where it’s at? Where is it? Scott Steiner Returns To Impact Wrestling, Will Wrestle At Slammiversary (Photos)

Scott Steiner made his return to Impact Wrestling tonight during their TV tapings. Steiner showed up to assist Josh Mathews in his feud with Jeremy Borash. It was announced that Mathews & Steiner will face Jeremy Borash and Joseph Park at Slammiversary.

Scott Steiner was released from TNA in 2011. Steiner has been working with Jeff Jarrett’s promotion Global Force Wrestling since it was created. GFW and TNA have merged so that may have led to Steiner showing up. TNA also sued Steiner for a breach of contract, but that case was dismissed on February 22, 2016. Steiner also owns a Shoney’s restaurant in Acworth, Georgia. He witnessed a shooting near the restaurant last year.

WWE Asia Championship Planned, Scott Steiner Indy Video, More

– It looks like WWE is moving forward with plans to crown the first ever WWE Asia Champion. After the recent success of WWE’s United Kingdom Championship tournament, officials are now interested in holding similar events in other regions of the world. WWE officials have already begun scouting talent in Asia, with several wrestlers in talks with the company to iron out their eligibility and travel requirements. Any potential candidates would have to sign exclusive deals, and no outside bookings will be allowed if signed in the US, the UK, or Japan. Officials hope to avoid some of the confusion reported from the UK scene.

– We’ve reported how Samoa Joe vs. Triple H was one match discussed for Triple H at WrestleMania 33 now that Seth Rollins is injured. After this week’s RAW that match seems unlikely. PWInsider reports that one match that was at least discussed is Triple H vs. Shane McMahon. We also know that Shane vs. AJ Styles has been considered recently.

– The following Title Match Wrestling video from a recent Pro Wrestling Syndicate event in Sayreville, NJ features Scott Steiner facing indy wrestler Craig Steele. Steiner cuts a pre-match promo that is very NSFW and goes on to win the match when Steele taps out.

Scott Steiner Takes Aim At WWE 2K17 & Goldberg In Latest Twitter Rant

In Scott Steiner’s latest Twitter rant, the former WCW World Champion took issue with the new WWE 2K17 video game. Steiner wasn’t happy about not being included in the game, while Goldberg was included.

“Goldberg is featured on #WWE’s new video game and somehow I’m not in the game,” Steiner wrote. “A handful of guys beat Goldberg, and Brock wasnt one of them, but I’m the only one not in the game. I would beat that bald headed bastard in the virtual world also.”

Steiner then took aim at Goldberg directly, saying that maybe Goldberg didn’t want Steiner in the game because he “couldn’t handle getting beat in two different worlds.”

https://twitter.com/ScottSteiner/status/799777482849316864

Steiner has written several notable Twitter rants in recent years — usually directed towards Hulk Hogan and WWE. Last April, TMZ reported that police were investigating Steiner over alleged threats against Hulk Hogan’s life.

Scott Steiner Talks About Witnessing An Attempted Murder (Video)

Scott Steiner was interviewed by CBS 46 in Acworth, Georgia recently. Steiner owns a restaurant in the area and apparently witnessed an attempted murder. Steiner describes the incident as “pretty freaky” during the interview. The reporter introduced Steiner as a restaurant owner and did not recognize him as Big Poppa Pump. The reporter has since acknowledged that he had no clue who he was interviewing on twitter.

https://twitter.com/renzullicbs46/status/719371565482135553

Scott Steiner has found himself in a lot of bizarre situations, witnessing an attempted murder is almost commonplace when it comes to the Big Bad Booty Daddy. . The shooting took place in the middle of the street and continued to a Hardee’s restaurant in Acworth. Thankfully, the man who was shot several times in the incident is expected to survive. The full interview is in the video below.

Scott Steiner OK After Totaling His Car Early Saturday Morning

Scott Steiner is doing fine after totaling his car early Saturday morning. He tweeted the following about the accident:

Video: Watch The Steiner Brothers Destroy A Restaurant In A New Commercial

Scott and Rick Steiner commandeered a front-end loader and demolished a building in a new ad for a restaurant chain called Shoneys. The legendary tag team recently reunited to film the commercial in Acworth, GA to promote the restaurant, which Scott Steiner is a franchisee of.

Scott is building a new Shoneys in Acworth, so to get rid of the old one they filmed him and his brother smashing into the building with a front-end loader tractor.

Scott is currently a member of the GFW roster, and Rick is now a real estate agent in Atlanta.

On Monday morning, Hulk Hogan appeared on Good Morning America (Video) to address his racism controversy. Hogan apologized and explained that his use of the n-word was in part due to his upbringing in a rough neighborhood. One man who wasn’t buying Hogan’s story is his Scott Steiner.

Big Poppa Pump posted this rant on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon:

Scott Steiner Continues To Rant About Hulk Hogan On Twitter

It’s no secret that there’s no love lost between Scott Steiner and Hulk Hogan, with Big Poppa Pump rarely missing an opportunity to share his thoughts about the WWE Hall of Famer.

On Saturday afternoon, Steiner went on another rant about Hulk Hogan’s latest controversy and calling out Hogan for trying to throw Vince McMahon under the bus for his own use of the N-word on WWE television.

The former WCW and WWE Superstar got physically involved at the Legends Of Wrestling event at Citi Field in New York City on Sunday night.

Jim Ross Q&A: GFW/Destination America, Scott Steiner, Sunny, More

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently updated his official Q&A section, answering questions from fans on a variety of topics. Below are some of the highlights.

On if he thinks GFW can get on Destination America: “I don’t know GFW TV situation except that they need to find a viable TV network to make themselves viable or they won’t make it.”

On Scott Steiner: “Scott is an interesting guy and I worked with him beginning in his rookie year.”

On if he expects to see blood at Elimination Chamber: “No I do not expect to see self inflicted wounds that cause bleeding this Sunday.”

On working with Sunny in WWE as an announce partner: “She had a sound aptitude for the business and did well at the announcer desk. Too bad outside influences adversely affected her.”

Check out more Jim Ross Q&A at his official website, JRsBarBQ.com.

Jim Ross Blog: Working With Lucha Underground, Steiner/Hogan Incident, Finn Balor

Jim Ross recently posted a new blog on his official website. Below are some highlights.

On doing work with Lucha Underground: “I had a chance to do some work with Lucha Underground as they prepare for their season finale taping in a little over a week that will air in August but we couldn’t make the date work. I’m a fan of their product, except the intergender stuff which doesn’t suspend my disbelief, and would have enjoyed doing a project with them but it wasn’t in the cards this time around. I wish them the best of luck nonetheless during these apparent, crunch times for their brand. I am still of the belief that their back stage content is the best in he genre.”

On fans hijacking wrestling shows: “Was asked on the Q&A section of this site if I encouraged fans to “highjack” TV wrestling shows. I encourage fans to be loud and rowdy and to cheer or boo for who they choose as long as they keep it ‘clean’ IE “blowjob” isn’t that by the way. However when fans pick their spots, always seemingly on TV to draw attention to their insecure selves, it becomes boorish and gives the majority of wrestling fans a bad name. Luckily the “highjackers” are in the minority but do come off as embarrassing to many to their peers notwithstanding providing many within the media who dislike the genre anyway more ammo to blast away at the product that many of us embrace.”

On Finn Balor: “Yes, Finn Balor is ready for RAW or Smackdown but only when WWE has a long term plan for this talented Irishman. To call him up with a long term plan would be downright stupid.”

On the Scott Steiner controversy: “Do you really think that Scott Steiner threatened to “kill” Hulk Hogan while standing in the San Jose Airport? Really? I call misunderstanding on that one. Money says not one charge will be filled much less stick.”

Scott Steiner Denies Threatening To Kill Hulk Hogan, Says Hogan Is Afraid Of Him

Scott Steiner is denying the report by TMZ that he threatened to kill Hulk Hogan and says Hogan is acting like a “scared little bitch.” Steiner is currently under investigation over an encounter with Hogan’s wife Jennifer at the San Jose airport during WrestleMania weekend. She alleges Steiner grabbed her and threatened to kill her husband. A Police report was filed hte following day.

Steiner admits that he did approach Hogan’s wife, but only talked trash about Hogan inducting Macho Man Randy Savage into the WWE Hall of Fame.

“I told her Hulk introducing ‘Macho Man’ into the Hall of Fame is bullshit … He hated him. Everyone knew that.”

Steiner says there were cops at the airport when the alleged incident took place and questions, “If she felt her life was threatened, why didn’t she talk to the cops?”

Steiner says he hasn’t been contacted by the police and added, “It’s not my fault Hulk Hogan is afraid of me.”

Scott Steiner Being Investigated By Police For Threatening To Kill Hulk Hogan

We reported last week that Scott Steiner was banned from the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony after being involved in an “ugly incident” with Hulk Hogan’s wife Jennifer on an airplane, however now we have more information on this story.

According to a new TMZ report, Steiner grabbed Jennifer at the baggage claim in the San Jose airport and told her that he had plans to “kill Terry” [Hogan’s real name] as soon as he lands.

Jennifer, who reportedly didn’t recognize Steiner, immediately called Hogan — who took the next flight into San Jose and went on to file a police report early the next morning.

Cops are currently investigating Steiner for “felony terrorist threats” and so far, officials have gathered airport surveillance which shows Steiner confronting Jennifer.

When contacted by TMZ for a comment on the story, Steiner simply stated, “Typical Hogan. He’s just a punk.”

Scott Steiner Banned From WWE Hall Of Fame After Incident With Hulk Hogan’s Wife

WWE banned Scott Steiner from the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony this past Saturday night after Steiner was involved in some type of incident with Hulk Hogan’s wife Jennifer.

The story going around is that Steiner was involved in an “ugly incident” with Hogan’s wife on an airplane. No specific details are known past the point that it became a big issue and resulted in WWE keeping Steiner from their venues this weekend.

At the WWE Hall Of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday, security were told to be on high alert for Steiner, with different guards at every entrance being told if Steiner shows up, not to allow him in the building under any circumstances.

Below is the photo that was posted on the wall at the Hall Of Fame to inform security of who Steiner is.

Why Hasn’t WWE Tried Promoting A WCW Reunion Show?

E-C-W! E-C-W! E-C-W!

The chants can still be heard today. In fact, WWE still capitalizes on those three letters to this very day.

For example, last Monday night after RAW, WWE premiered “ECW Exposed” on the WWE Network as part of a full “ECW Week” theme for their digital subscription service.

Next Tuesday night, a second edition of “ECW Exposed” is scheduled to air on the WWE Network.

Hell, this weekend, Tommy Dreamer will be presenting the seventh “House Of Hardcore” event, which is considered by many to be a show with the old “ECW feel” to it.

My question is this, why do we see so many ECW reunion shows, but no WCW reunion shows? I’m assuming it has a lot to do with dollars and cents.

For an ECW reunion show to be held, you need at least some of the following guys: Paul Heyman, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Taz, Bully Ray, Devon, Terry Funk, The Sandman, Rob Van Dam, Raven and Shane Douglas. Sure, there are many other names you can go with, but you need at least a few of those guys on the event for it to feel like a legitimate ECW reunion show.

For a WCW reunion show to be held, you need at least some of the following guys: Eric Bischoff, Ric Flair, Sting, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Diamond Dallas Page, Lex Luger, Sid Vicious, Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and Rick Steiner. Again, many names are missing, but the fact remains, the price tags of the key guys needed for an ECW reunion show versus the price tags for a WCW reunion show are world’s apart.

WWE has at different points in time had enough of the aforementioned WCW names under contract, and certainly has enough money to secure the stars they didn’t have at a particular point in time, to put together a legitimate WCW reunion show.

Outside of the financial side of putting together a reunion show for the former two biggest rival promotions to WWE, there is the financial side of how much these shows would generate.

When you compare the amount of DVDs sold between “The Rise & Fall Of ECW” and “The Rise & Fall Of WCW,” again you will notice that they are world’s apart.

When ECW went out of business in 2001 they were still a beloved promotion that just didn’t have the financial backing or television exposure to stay afloat. When WCW went out of business in 2001 they barely had a pulse.

The fan-base for ECW was a rabid, cult-like fan-base that loved their home-promotion dearly. The fan-base for WCW by the time the company folded in 2001 was practically nonexistent.

Still, it feels like there is enough WCW nostalgia for a reunion show to work. Anytime rumors circulate that claim WWE is in negotiations with Goldberg, Sting, or any of the other major names wrestling fans associate with WCW, there is a huge buzz. Fans are excited at the prospect of these guys coming into the current fold and squaring off against today’s crop of WWE Superstars.

Currently, there is a lot of interest in a Sting vs. Undertaker match at WrestleMania. There has been buzz in the recent past about a possible showdown between Goldberg and his modern-day carbon-copy Ryback. There’s even been a lot of interest in “The Hulkster” lacing up his red and yellow boots once more.

If WWE were to sign all of these guys, or ever considered the idea at any point in time, why is it out of the realm of possibility that a WCW reunion show would be a success? Personally, I think it would work, however, I think WWE wants the WCW legacy buried and forgotten, and wants the fans of today to only remember history the way Vince McMahon and company choose to portray it.

Ever watched the “Monday Night War” documentary series on the WWE Network? Right there is a perfect example of the WWE-version of history being told.

The fact is, ECW was never a close second to WWE. They definitely provided a template on how to change the wrestling product into something more modern that fans of that generation soaked up in droves. The fact remains, however, that WCW was kicking WWE’s ass for a lengthy period of time.

Prior to that, when WWE was the top dog, WCW was always nipping at their heels. NWA before WCW was at times a close-second to WWE, and for a long period of time was considered to have the better talent roster. Additionally, NWA would beat WWE in television ratings on a somewhat regular basis before fans really paid attention to TV ratings or considered them any legitimate measure of success, as was the case when the ratings became the focal point of the WWE vs. WCW “Monday Night Wars.”

Outside of WrestleMania once a year, WWE puts on pay-per-views that for the most part feel the same. Nothing seems special or different about them anymore, and the entire idea behind a pay-per-view is to put on an event that feels bigger and more unique than a typical weekly wrestling television program.

Unfortunately, current WWE pay-per-views just feel like a slightly better version of a solid edition of WWE RAW and/or WWE SmackDown, when the company should be striving to put on pay-per-views that feel like “must see” or “can’t miss” programming.

Something tells me if WWE were to book a WCW reunion pay-per-view, if they booked the right guys, it would generate a ton of interest and likely draw a solid buyrate. It would garner interest from fans who escaped the wrestling bubble and moved on with their lives back in 2001 when the only alternative to the WWE-style of wrestling went out of business.

Picture it guys — WCW One Night Stand!

I’d fork out $44.95 and spend three hours of a Sunday evening to watch it.

And something tells me many others would as well.

As promised, here is the second half of the list.

5. Goldust

Many fans incorrectly identify the rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin as the beginning of the Attitude Era – the most profitable period in WWE history. However, there was someone who came along and changed the game long before Austin would cut his Austin 3:16 promo on Jake Roberts. That person was the man known simply as Goldust.

The son of the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, Dustin Runnels had shifted back and forth between the WWE and rival WCW during the early 90s before ultimately signing with the WWE in 1995 as Goldust. The character was sexually suggestive, frequently engaged in behavior that was considered homoerotic, and was unlike anything the WWE Universe had ever seen.

Goldust was a pioneer in pushing the WWE away from the traditional face/heel booking that the company had relied upon for years in favor of a product that was appealing to adults and featured morally ambiguous characters. Had the product not shifted back to a PG rating, Goldust would be even higher on this list, but as it stands, he is still one of the most important superstars in company history.

VIDEO: Scott Steiner Explains Why He Won’t Sign A WWE Legends Deal

Scott Steiner was recently asked by Ringside Collectibles at the San Diego Comic Con about the possibility of him signing a WWE legends deal. Steiner had a very definite opinion on the matter, saying “Well, I’ve been asked for a Legends contract. Unfortunately, my lawyer explained to me that it’s not worth the paper it’s written on.”

  • Scott Steiner Trashes WWE Product, Talks Not Getting To Work With The Rock & More

The following are highlights of a new Rodolfo Roman interview with Scott Steiner:

On not getting the chance to feud with The Rock: “I wrestled everyone. The first time I went to the WWE back in 2003 I wanted to go against The Rock. That never happened. He is one of the top guys of all time. The box office shows that. He was one of the most talented wrestlers there is. That’s the one guy I wanted to start off with. Vince brought all of the WCW guys up but basically Vince basically treated us like shit…treated us all the same. But they destroyed everything… me Goldberg, Nash were all treated the same way.”

On The Rock’s critics: “Who can talk bad about The Rock. He’s entertaining. He puts asses in the seats. He proved that but moving up to bigger and better things.”

On WWE’s current product: “That PG shit is hard to watch. It doesn’t make sense. You got South Park serving up a storm. You got all these shows. Wrestling was the first natural reality show. We created that genre. That was reality TV live. It started with RAW in the Manhattan Center.”
