X-Pac On What Triple H Said To Him About Johnny Gargano

Former WWE European Champion Sean “X-Pac” Waltman recently released another episode of his X-Pac12360 podcast. Waltman had former WWE Superstar Ken Anderson on as his guest. During the show Waltman gave his thoughts on the NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia main event between NXT Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas and Johnny Gargano:

“It was heartbreaking when he (Johnny Gargano) didn’t win. It was. It sucked, but it was so good. And Hunter (Triple H) told me, I hit him up afterward and he was like, ‘Yeah Gargano is the last of the white meat babyfaces.’ And that’s pretty much true right now. Not that there can’t be any more you know? But as far as what we have to choose from right now he’s the guy that kind of fits that. I don’t really see anyone else.”

Waltman also offered his thoughts on the return of the XFL and said it’s not a good idea to bet against it working this time:

“Well, I knew it was going to happen when Vince (McMahon) sold a bunch of stock, couple hundred million dollars in stock and started an LLC. They’ve given themselves two years to get this off the ground and last time they had two months. And I don’t think it’s a good idea to bet against this working. We just have to wait and see what happens. I’m just saying there is an appetite for that right now.”

Sean Waltman On WWE Releasing Three Superstars This Week, Daniel Bryan Wanting To Wrestle Again, More

Former WWE Superstar Sean “X-Pac” Waltman talked about various topics during the latest episode of his podcast, X-Pac 12360. Here are the highlights:

Emma, Darren Young, and Summer Rae being released by WWE:

“I understand a lot more with Summer Rae but I would have given an opportunity for Darren to come back and actually have some matches. I am going to go out on a limb and say he’s not gonna have a hard time getting work in the independent scene, if he chooses. And Emma, I’m bummed out by that , I was kinda rooting for her because there are a ton of girls that are more gifted athletically and what not, but she really goes out there and works her butt off. Here’s the thing, these things are bumps in the road or roadblocks we run into in life or in your career. They are most often timed opportunities in disguise and I believe Emma will do just fine, I believe Darren will be just as fine as well.”

Lio Rush’s tweet about Emma being released:

“I did see the Lio Rush thing , it was a bummer … but it got blown way out of proportion…And I didn’t realize everyone had piled on him when I commented on it. I quoted his tweet, I just said ‘sad to see this from you,’ because I was one of the guys that put in a word for him. All this backlash should be the end of it, that should be the consequence and that’s it.”

Daniel Bryan wanting to return to the ring:

“I just think that a person should do the things that make them happy. I’d hate to see somebody go and cause any more long-term damage health wise. But we have our journeys and he has to take his wherever he feels like taking it. It is more of a risk but here’s the thing, we’re all every single one of us, even the most healthy one of us are one bad bump away from being paralyzed for life, so there’s that way to look at it too. We can adjust and most of us do adjust our styles (In ring) over the years, as our bodies get more beat up. I would assume that Daniel (Bryan) would be mindful of these things before he steps in the ring.”

Sean Waltman On The Rock Advising Nia Jax To Walk Out Of Raw

During the latest episode of X-Pac 12360 Podcast, Former WWE Superstar Sean Waltman talked about a number of wrestling-related topics which have been a subject of discussion recently. Below are some of the highlights from the podcast:

Thoughts on GFW Owner Jeff Jarrett:

“A lot of the stuff is allegedly but it doesn’t take away from the fact that it seems that Jarrett is going through some s–t right now. You hear different stories, although some parts of the story may not be true or maybe exaggerated. When you hear several stories like this, there’s something to it and Jeff has gone through a ton of heartache over the years. The lost of his children’s mother and other things that we probably don’t even know. I’ve known Jeff for a long time and Jeff has never been afraid to party but he’s always held it together and when I hear things like this it makes me worry and I love Jeff very much. ”

Reports of Nia Jax walking out of Raw after receiving encouragement from The Rock:

“Rumor is that she called The Rock and that the Rock advised her to walk out. I cannot buy that, I absolutely don’t buy that Dwayne Johnson gave his cousin advice to walk out of the company. I don’t believe that for one second.”

His best promos being post-match:

“I like the post-match in-ring interviews. Because from experience when you’re all caught up and in the moment. That’s one of the best times to get a word from somebody. It was always the best time to get a word from me. All my best s–t (promos) came from in-ring stuff like that. And this is why I knew when Mickie James gave her post-match interview the people didn’t s–t on it. They were with it. They were feeling what she was putting out there because it was real. And that’s what you get when you do a post-match interview like that.”

Being upset at an indie event:

“At King of Trios (Chikara Event), one year they started going into this bulls–t slow-motion spot. I had never seen this before and I just about blew a fricking gasket. I was so mad. Because no one told me about it, next thing I know this… and I guess in the context of Chikara’s universe it works fine… but the thing is next time I’m participating. I’m doing the same s–t as everyone else. Tommy Dreamer pulls out a remote, goes like that (presses pause) and everyone stops.”

You can check out the report about Nia Jax which Waltman mentions here.

Sean Waltman Comments On Bullet Club’s RAW Invasion & WWE’s Cease and Desist

Former WWE Superstar Sean “X-Pac” Waltman recently appeared on the WZ Daily podcast and commented on The Bullet Club “invading” last week’s RAW, WWE serving the Young Bucks with a Cease and Desist order and SmackDown Superstar Baron Corbin.

Here are the highlights of what Waltman said about:

Bullet Club’s “Invasion” of RAW drawing a cease & desist letter from WWE:

“I’m not surprised by this and I still think it was worth it. I’ll probably get heat for saying that. The truth is those guys are way more than a hand gesture that they co-opted from someone else. They are just as fine without those things.”

Baron Corbin being the #1 contender to AJ Styles‘ United States Championship:

“I think he has a lot of upside but they just tried to go with him a little too soon, maybe. I’m a fan of his.”

Court Bauer also commented on Corbin, stating that he thinks the Lone Wolf’s character is stale and needs more depth.

“I think he needs to be repackaged. I think he looks a little vanilla. His face and the way he registers things doesn’t really do much for me. Would face paint help? Would a new persona help? I don’t know. Would a manager help? Definitely. Somebody to get you invested in his matches, yes, that could possibly help.”

“Just Baron Corbin as Baron Corbin, what is that? We used to do this thing at WWE, it was an exercise, where if you can’t describe a guy’s persona in one sentence then something is not working here. I’m like, ‘What is that?’”

This clip of Waltman in action has been circulating on Twitter and it’s pretty amazing considering the 45-year-old Waltman has been competing for nearly three decades.

Ricochet, who will compete in the main event of MLW: One-Shot on October 5th, gave Waltman props saying, “X-PAC is STILL that dude!!” Waltman put Ricochet over in a big way, saying there’s few, if anybody, on his level right now.

X-Pac Reveals What He Could’ve Done To Improve His WWE Career

Former WWE Superstar Sean “X-Pac” Waltman recently joined WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast, The Steve Austin Show, to talk about his WWE career. During their conversation, Waltman commented on what he believes he could’ve done to better his experience with the company. He admitted that he could’ve worked a lot harder on his mic skills and also could’ve been easier to work with:

“I think for me, I should have worked harder on my mic skills and I should have been a lot easier to deal with and I would have been pushed a lot better. I was really, I was really, with my first run there, I felt like I let a lot of stuff happen there that I shouldn’t have and so I overcompensated for it when I came back. If I thought anybody was messing with me, I was difficult and also, I didn’t allow them to work me more than 15 days a month and when you do that, then it kind of takes a lot of the opportunities off the table.”

Kenny Omega Talks Adam Cole’s NXT Debut, Singing With Daniel Bryan, Getting A Six Star Match, More

New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) star Kenny Omega recently made an appearance on former WWE Superstar Sean “X-Pac” Waltman’s podcast, X-Pac 12360, to talk about a variety of professional wrestling topics. Omega discussed Adam Cole’s NXT debut on TakeOver: Brooklyn, singing with Daniel Bryan during a match, getting a six star match with Okada, and much more. Here are the highlights:

His reaction to getting a six star match rating :

“Someone had said like ‘Hey , Meltzer just gave you, you know the first ever six-star match’ and I am like ‘ha-ha yeah right whatever’… You know it’s a five-star scale, right, (laughs) you’d think it have to be something real special and he’s like ‘No, look it’s right here,’ so I was actually getting ready to go out and this dude or whatever passes me his cellphone and it had the write up with the six stars on it. And I was like if this isn’t a typo that’s pretty damn cool.

Adam Cole’s NXT debut :

“As friend to Adam Cole, I am not sure  what I can say or cannot say but I know there was difficulty with that situation and I’m just happy as a friend of his that he was finally able to freely make his television debut.”

Skills learned in developmental :

“It wasn’t pleasant while I was there doing it, but then I look back at it and it was an experience that helped shape the person that I am today, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything in the world because it really helped me see more of what the business end of wrestling is like there (WWE). The highs and the lows, meeting some cool people… The biggest thing that helped me moving forward were, Dave Taylor was there and he had some classes.

“Before going to developmental I had next to no fundamentals and that was sort of, doing cool chain wrestling and using a lot of holds and stuff. That was sort of the kick on the Indies. So when I had left developmental had I not had those fundamentals and been able to do those types of things, I wouldn’t have been able to have a career in the Indies at all… and I wouldn’t have ended up in Japan either.

Singing John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt with Daniel Bryan during a match:

“We started singing it together and the lightning bolt struck. I’m like “come on Brian we got to do this.” And he’s like “What?! You’re kidding me?” I was like “No. We have to… Listen hear me out here Brian. You’re pretty much known as the guy that has these awesome matches with everyone. People literally call you the Best in the World and sure we could go out there today and we could have a pretty darn good match but then at the end of the day what’s it going to be?

“It’s just going to be another good match that you had. Who cares? So let’s do something memorable.” And he’s like “Okay. I’m listening.” … It’s John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt. “Well what does that even mean?” Off the top of my head I sort of laid out this groundwork for how it would be placed into this match. And he was like, “I think it’s going to be real fun, but man I got a Steven Regal in the back of my head telling me right now this is the worst idea I’ve ever heard in my life.””

Some of his favorite matches fans may never see:

“Some of my favorites, we would have this thing called a Rock-N-Roll Death Match and it’s some of my proudest work there (DDT) but can never be shown because of copyright factors. You wrestle a match and at random… music would randomly quote unquote play and you have to stop what you’re doing and dance. It sounds like a simple idea but the way that we worked in the dancing into the spots and the types of dances depended on the song.

“I thought it was really creative and I thought a lot of people would like it and not shit all over it… You could put generic music over the music that we used but for example, when we would wrestle and then the Macarena would turn on it would have to be the Macarena because we’re doing the Macarena know what I mean?”

Comedy wrestling vs. serious wrestling:

“A lot of people think that comedy is sort of a cop out to not wrestling seriously but I actually would argue that comedy is much more difficult than wrestling seriously because you have to be creative in almost everything that you do if you want the comedy to make sense within the realms of pro wrestling… But to work a good comedy match. To work with a doll and make people believe; to make people bite on the falsies; to make people laugh or say you know this is entertaining; to want them to show their friends, that’s tough to do. And when people ask well aren’t you embarrassed? Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?  No I’m not. It’s actually some of my most proudest work.

Kenny Omega vs Daryl (Hiromu’s pet cat):

“It honestly would be the same exact situation as facing the girl (9yr Old), or Yoshihiko (Blow-Up Doll), where the crow would believe and cheer for Daryl. There is nothing the Daryl could ever do that would make him a heel in that match. I don’t think I would ever do a singles. But if it was for example, myself and the Young Bucks vs Hiromu, Naito, and Daryl, I think it could work. I honestly think it could work. Even just saying that right now all these cool ideas are popping into my head on how we could make it work and actually make it believable as well.”

How he’s not fit to be a leader of the Bullet Club:

“I’m not sure if I’m fit to be a leader anymore, right now. That is just because it’s to a degree in Japan where if you’re shown working hard, you’re just going to start getting over. People are going to love it, people are going to love you. You’re giving your heart, you’re giving your soul and there is almost nowhere you’d be a full heel anymore. That is the situation I’ve fallen in, being in every big show main event since Wrestle Kingdom this year.

“There’s really nothing I can do, aside from purposely not trying. I honestly feel even though in America the bullet club presence is really – almost like a babyface entity. People love repping The Bullet club, they love putting up the Too Sweet. In Japan, I know for a fact they would prefer us to be a straight heel unit. We do try to work that way into our matches, no matter what we do, no matter the drastic things we do leading up to the big matches if you perform and you have a great match people are going to love you anyway”

The rebirth of Kenny Omega:

“I wasn’t sure where I would go from here (after leaving developmental) Do I even want to continue with wrestling? What is it that I want to do if I continue it? I made the decision that I wanted to be myself. Instead of stressing about all these characters that I thought of, drew up & suggest to WWE Office & Bill DeMott. Which wasn’t me, just ideas I thought of might make the company money.

“I was going to be myself, try and have fun with it. If people don’t like me, well they don’t like me, then I’ll just disappear & it’s over. If they do like me, then I’m going to enjoy what I am doing again, fall in love with wrestling all over again or keep loving wrestling. That in itself hopefully shines through & believe in the character that is Kenny Omega that is me.”

X-Pac Reveals The One Thing He Did With DX That Embarrassed Him

Former WWE Superstar Sean “X-Pac” Waltman recently did an interview with Uproxx to talk about a variety of professional wrestling topics, including what he did with DX that embarrassed him, Chyna being the “magic ingredient” in DX, and the process of adding in The New Age Outlaws to the group. Check out what he had to say here:

If he did anything with DX that embarrassed him:

“Actually the only thing that I can honestly say I really regret now is the blackface thing. I did not understand. Here’s the thing: I consider myself pretty well, for somebody that didn’t go to high school, pretty well educated. I know a lot of things, but I never saw an actual minstrel show, blackface thing. Recently, I saw something about it and I was horrified, horrified at how mean-spirited all that stuff was. I look at it way different now.”

Chyna being the “magic ingredient” to DX:

“It was just a regular group [otherwise]. Not a regular group, because it was extraordinary talent, but there’s been a lot of groups with extraordinary talent. She was just so unique. It’s just that’s how I feel about it. I just wanted to acknowledge that. Then Brian James [acknowledged it] too [after I tweeted].”

What was the process of adding in The New Age Outlaws to DX:

“Before Shawn left, before WrestleMania where he dropped the title, they had been doing some stuff thinking about bringing them in on it. When Paul contacted me about being DX, he told, ‘We’re thinking about having Brian [Road Dogg] and Billy [Gunn],’ and that’s exactly how it happened. They were getting over on their own. …We all had really good rapport with each other. We all traveled a lot and hung out a lot together before that when I was there the first time when Billie was in the Smoking Gunns and Road Dog was with Jeff Jarrett. It was pretty easy for that to work.”

Sean Waltman On The Current State Of The Wrestling Business

There is a lot to debate about the current state of the pro wrestling industry and how it relates to previous boom periods. WWE television ratings are a fraction of what they were during the heyday of the Attitude Era, but the company also takes in more revenue than ever before and reaches their audience many other ways beyond the USA Network.

WWE legend Sean “X-Pac” Waltman gave his thoughts about the business, arguing that pro wrestling is in good shape with more performers making a living in the industry (outside of WWE) than ever before.

X-Pac Back In Legal Trouble, Says He May Serve Jail Time

Sean Waltman told reporters yesterday that despite recent drug charges being dropped, he may still be on his way for prison. According to Waltman, he did not go through all the proper legal proceedings from a 2004 DUI charge, and he may have to serve a small prison sentence as a result.

Here is what Waltman told TMZ reporters yesterday:

Drug Charges Dropped

Waltman caused a stir earlier this month when he went radio-silent for a couple of days, and missed some UK bookings. We would later find out he had been picked up by authorities for possession of marijuana capsules and edibles, as well as something the police believed to be methamphetamine.

When the substance was later determined not to be an illegal drug, all charges were dropped.

X-Pac Reveals Which Superstar Was Denied Entry Into DX

Former WWE Superstar and D-Generation X member Sean “X-Pac” Waltman did an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard to talk about a number of professional wrestling topics. Here are some highlights:

If he’s a fan of The Bullet Club:

“I’m a big Bullet Club fan. I’m flattered that they were inspired by us. They took our recipe, like the Young Bucks and the ‘Too Sweet’ sign, but they’re also distinctively Bullet Club. Even though they are adding on in numbers, they have remained fairly discriminatory in who they add. Marty Scurll is fantastic and I am a big fan of his work. They’re not just throwing a Bullet Club shirt on a guy to get him over, and that’s smart. They need to listen to their gut and not back down.”

How former WWE writer Vince Russo pitched Val Venis to join DX:

“Russo wanted to put Val Venis in DX, but we said no. We stuck to our guns because he wasn’t right for DX. So, for Bullet Club, if New Japan or Ring of Honor wants Bullet Club to do something they don’t want to do, Bullet Club needs to remember this is their creation and their baby. Stick to your guns. If you feel like someone is not right, then don’t let it be done.”

Scott Hall’s influence on his career:

“I’m very grateful for Scott Hall’s willingness to take me under his wing and help me. That’s when our chemistry started. Scott already had me in mind when Vince McMahon ran the idea by him. Scott had seen me on ESPN with the Global Wrestling Federation. Scott was like Curt Hennig in the sense that he’d take the younger guys under his wing and try to teach them. People like to talk about Scott’s selfishness, but he did a lot of selfless work in wrestling that isn’t talked about. Scott was very guarded about his knowledge. He didn’t share it with everyone.”

Sean Waltman Talks His Arrest Over The Weekend, Claims Truth Will Come Out Soon (Video)

Sean Waltman was arrested over the weekend at LAX airport in Los Angeles after getting stopped at customs with marijuana and capsules that allegedly contained methamphetamine. Waltman proclaimed his innocence with a couple of tweets and in an interview with TMZ. Waltman claims that he has been suffering from a yeast infection and was taking cleanse capsules to treat it. Here are Waltman’s tweets on the matter:

Waltman was also interviewed by TMZ while on the set of his X-Pac 1-2-360 podcast. Waltman once again stated that this was all a misunderstanding and that the truth will come out soon. In the meantime, Waltman understands why people may not believe him given his past. Waltman also denied that he had any intent to sell drugs overseas. Waltman also said that he will discuss what transpired more tomorrow on his podcast on AfterBuzzTV.

Sean Waltman Suspected Of Selling Meth, Caught by Drug Sniffing Dogs

Additional details are coming in regarding Sean Waltman’s arrest over the weekend and it’s not looking good for the former WWE Superstar. Waltman was arrested on Saturday at LAX airport in Los Angeles after getting stopped at customs with methamphetamine and marijuana. He was taken to a local jail, charged with a felony and released the following day on $35,000 bond.

TMZ.com has obtained the police report and it reveals Waltman got stopped because he was on a Customs and Border Patrol watch list for narcotics. This is presumably due to his history with drug-related arrests.

Drug sniffing dogs helped police locate a large quantity of drugs, including 3 Cannibis chocolate bars, 2 THC liquid cigarettes, 38 meth/Amphetamine capsules. He also had over $700 cash on him.

Authorities suspect Waltman intended to sell the meth overseas, because “the large quantity of pills plus the large quantity of U.S. currency are associated with narcotics sales.” Possession of narcotics with intent to sell is a felony that could land him in prison for up to 4 years.

Waltman tweeted the following on Monday night after news of his arrest began circulating online:

Sean Waltman Arrested, Attempted to Smuggle Drugs on Overseas Flight

Sean Waltman has resurfaced after missing a scheduled appearance in the UK over the weekend and growing concern that he had gone missing. Waltman had been scheduled to wrestle for IPW: UK on Saturday, which was billed as his final UK match. When he didn’t show, the promotion released a statement that they were unable to get a hold of him.

After minor updates from Kevin Nash and Waltman’s podcast host stating that he was deal with “issues” – Sean Waltman broke his silence late Monday night and tweeted:

https://twitter.com/TheRealXPac/status/859257064429731841

As it turns out, Waltman was arrested on Saturday (4/29) at LAX Airport in Los Angeles after he was stopped at Customs and officials discovered he was concealing meth and marijuana. Police were called to the scene and Waltman was arrested and taken to jail, where he was booked for possession of a controlled substance. To make matters worse, he had an outstanding warrant stemming from a prior DUI arrest.

Waltman was released the following day on $35,000 bond and has a court date later this month (5/25) to address the charges.

The following arrest record sent in by reader Michael Hottle is posted on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department website (click to enlarge):

MVP Talks Being Kimbo Slice’s Bouncer, and Training w/the Miz

MVP was Sean Waltman’s guest this week on his 12360 podcast. The 43-year old Hassan Hamin Assad shared many stories of his career, including training with the Miz and working as Kimbo Slice’s bodyguard.

Sean speaks about a conversation he had with Kevin Sullivan at a PCW event this passed weekend about John Morrison being involved in the main event of RVD VS MVP:
“Well, Kevin came up to me, Joey, and forget who else, but they were telling me ‘Should John Morrison come out before the match starts or after’ you know, after the match finishes to challenge the winner…and you know, my intial react, like “they were asking me,” cause Kevin thinks they should do it before hand.”

MVP Talks about being in WWE developmental with the Miz:
“I think it’s weird…umm. I’ll give you an example of the Miz. Very successful, very talented has reached of the highest highs, and I have the upmost respect for him. Cause when we were in developmental down in deep south, you had guys that been around, been a few places who were moaning and complaining about the training. I never heard Mike Mizanin complain not once. Ever. He ran the miles, the squats, the bumps never complained about anything.”

MVP on where he was during the earthquake that happened in Toyko, Japan:
“I was in Sinbad but it was in Tokyo and uh 200 hundred miles away but even in Tokyo, Dude that shit was fucking insane, watching building rock and cracks open up in the side of the wall. I was in the shrine. My friend Acvio took me there to give me a tour and what not and we went to this under corner, went to this little kya and I had a big tank of beer. We’re eating and talking and like this is my dream come true, like “ I’m in japan, this is amazing”, and quake starts and at first I started smiling like oh shit my first Japanese earthquake this is cool. And then like shit just started falling off the wall, shit was crashing and Japan is like the third most scientifically active country.”

MVP Talks about how he became a bouncer with Kimbo Slice:
“Yeah, that was my first job on South Beach(Miami-Florida)… Kimbo was the first guy that walked up and I saw him and he looked a lot different then too though but… I was like, ‘Hey man you guys hiring?’ and he said, ‘hold on let me check.’ I heard him say, ‘he’s a big dude we could probably use him.’ Then the head guy came out and said, ‘yeah come back tomorrow night in a black suit.'”

Styles discussing Cena to Waltman backstage at Smackdown Live

“I was watching your show and I just wanted to tell you what you said about John Cena being the man and the best going, you are one hundred percent correct. Anyone that doesn’t agree with you, it is because they don’t know John Cena and have never been in the ring with him.”

Eric Bischoff & Sean Waltman Talk DX vs. nWo, Drug Testing In WCW, Bischoff-HOF

ERIC BISCHOFF CALLS NWO “GREATEST FACTION OF ALL TIME,” DISPUTES SEAN WALTMAN’S MONDAYNIGHT WARS STORY ON A SPECIAL EPISODE OF X-PAC 12360

Former WCW president Eric Bischoff joins Sean Waltman on a special crossover episode of the X-Pac 12360 podcast. With MondayNight Wars, drug testing, and more topics up for discussion, the two debate whether NWO or D-Generation X were the better faction in a conversation that starts on Sean’s show and ends on this week’s new episode of Bischoff on Wrestling.

Here are the highlights, sent in by Christy Olson:

Sean asks if Eric knew that Vince McMahon told all the WWE that talent they can’t talk to anyone in WCW: No I didn’t, certainly didn’t know it. But I’m not surprised by it, having been on both sides of the equation so to speak and also working with WWE, having been in the position that I was in. It doesn’t surprise me at all. I think it’s one of those things, as you pointed out, not a lot of people know that. I certainly didn’t know it until this moment. But it doesn’t surprise me at all. He was fighting for his life, man.

Sean disputes the story told in WWE Network’s Monday Night Wars series: On the Network they talk about [Diamond Dallas Page] calling up Scott [Hall] or Kevin [Nash] and making the overture that way. I seem to remember being out here in LA recuperating from an injury, and I was meeting with Barry Bloom about something other than wrestling, movie stuff, and he brought up the fact that the checkbook was getting opened up in WCW and some big money was being thrown around. The first thing I thought of was get Scott on the phone, because he wasn’t happy. That’s my version of how it all started. That’s my version of how it all started. Is that wrong?

Eric’s response: My recollection of it was really more probably aligned with Page’s, because he lived right down the street from me. Whether I liked it or not, we talked all the time. Usually he talked all the time and I listened. You know Page. But Page knew where we were going and Page maintained relationships with people. I never did. I still don’t to this day…But Page maintained contact, and from what I remember when things started changing , because Page knew what I was thinking, and I don’t know whether he reached out to you, whether he reached out to them, who he reached out to. But somehow, the way I recall it, Page really reached out to Scott first. Maybe that happened simultaneously with you. Maybe you and Scott had a conversation. I don’t know. But from my perspective, that’s kind of what I remember.

Sean reveals the move to WCW move didn’t go down as planned: In our group, the way we were talking, I was going to be the first one to jump. What happened was I went to give my ninety day notice and my contract had already rolled over. So I was screwed. So Kevin and Scott could go, but I couldn’t.

Eric on drug testing in WCW: I think drug testing was something that we felt we had to do. It was something that we felt if we didn’t do we were vulnerable. It’s a little bit like risk management in a big corporation. There’s certain things you put into place just to make sure you don’t get sued–not that you necessarily want to, but you have to.

Does Eric think he belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame?: This is hard to talk about for me. But I’ll do my best and keep it short, or try. I have two answers for that. Obviously it’s always great to be recognized by your peers, right? I would be lying if I said that wouldn’t be important to me. It wouldn’t be true. But I will say that I’m not sure I’m comfortable with it either. That’s because it’s my own personal belief, and this doesn’t have anything to do with me, this is just the way I feel about things. I am a peripheral character, and I’ve said this before. If the WWE decided to add an executive wing to the hall of fame for people on the business side of the business were recognized, then hell yeah! I think I should be there. In fact I think there should be a statue of me there, because I think in many respects I’m responsible, at least partially, for the success of what the WWE has become today…I think as an executive yeah, I’d love to be recognized for that. But to be in the same Hall of Fame with guys like Roddy Piper and Ric Flair and all the guys that are in there that spent years learning their craft inside the ring, I don’t feel like I’m in that neighborhood, bro. It feels a little weird to me.

Would Eric accept if asked: I don’t know. First of all I’m not holding my breath that it’s going to happen. There’s a lot of dynamics involved. Honestly I don’t think about it. I’m not assuming it’ll happen, and I won’t be disappointed if it doesn’t.

Eric and Sean debate whether NWO or D-Generation X were more influential. Eric’s answer: NWO was new. It was fresh. It was an entirely different take on wrestling factions. There was the Four Horsemen. It’s not like it was the first time there was ever a faction. But it was the first time you ever had badass, cool heels. It was the first time that we saw so many of the antics and the things we saw the NWO do backstage. The NWO story took place in parts of the arena that nobody had ever seen on camera before. It broke ground in so many different ways that I think it paved the way and created a template almost for DX, and to this day I still see more NWO merchandise than I see DX merchandise. So from my point of view, because we got there first and because I think it still exists in the minds of so many people today, my perspective at least is that the NWO was the greatest faction of all time in the wrestling business, and therefore probably more influential in the long run.

Sean’s response: Damn it, Eric! I want to take DX’s side so bad in this. Damn it! Help me out here…

Indy Promoter Asks For Someone To Check On Scott Hall After Missing Show On Saturday

What happened to Scott Hall?

The WWE Hall of Famer was advertised to appear for DREAMWAVE Wrestling on Saturday in La Salle, Illinois, but was a no-show. Following this, DREAMWAVE Wrestling CEO Jay Repsel sent out a tweet asking for someone to check on Hall’s whereabouts. According to Repsel, Hall is not returning his calls or texts after failing to board a flight to the event.

Hall was advertised to appear alongside Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman at the event. Ultimately, only HBK and Nash appeared as Waltman also wasn’t able to make it for undisclosed reasons. Waltman, however, sent out an apology on Twitter and has agreed to appear at a show in December.

Hall last tweeted on Thursday, where he asked fans to buy WWE’s DVD on him.

Rob Van Dam Talks Current Relationship With WWE, Whether He Was Contacted For The Brand Split

Will Rob Van Dam return to WWE?

RVD hasn’t wrestled for WWE in over two years, which has naturally left fans wondering whether he’s already had his last match for Vince McMahon’s organization.

This morning on Twitter, the 45-year-old responded to a fan question asking whether he will ever return to WWE:

RVD addressed his current relationship with WWE last week while speaking to Sean Waltman on the X-Pac 1,2,360 podcast.

His current relationship with WWE and 2013/2014 stints:

I have a deal now with them, just like [Chris] Jericho, where I can do short term deals. I did a three-month deal and still did sixty-six matches in ninety days, and then the traveling. So then the next time I went back I spread it out a little more, was doing mostly just TVs and that was over five months. It was like eighty matches, or eighty-eight. Me and Jericho have the same deal but I don’t have the ambition that he does. He likes being there a lot. I mean, I really like not being on the road. A lot of celebrities are afraid of being out of sight, out of mind. I’m the complete opposite. I’ve always been trying to do as little as possible and I’m getting better at it all the time.

Did WWE reach out to him for the brand split?

No, I haven’t heard from them since, it’s almost been a year actually. It was last October when we talked, and it really wasn’t a good time for me to go out on the road. I had personal stuff that I was going through. But there’s always a dollar amount that makes it worthwhile, you know what I mean? But the amount that would’ve made it worth it for me to go out and work wouldn’t have been worth it for them and what they were thinking, and so that just didn’t work out, which was good because I really wasn’t wanting to do it then. And also I might’ve scared them away with the number it would’ve taken to make it worth my while. So no, I really haven’t even talked to them.

Sean Waltman & Scott Hall Talk Curtain Call, Goldberg Returning, WWE’s “Soft Style”

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman has a new show on AfterBuzz TV called X-Pac 1,2,360. The first episode features an interview with his long time friend, WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall. The guys talked about a number of topics, including Hulk Hogan, Cody Rhodes, Ryback and more. Here are some highlights:

The Miz and Daniel Bryan got a ton of attention last week for their heated exchange on Talking Smack. One of the more surprising moments of that segment came when Daniel Bryan spoke about the WWE style of wrestling being “soft” compared to Japan and other regions. X-Pac reacted, “Bryan mentioned something about the soft WWE style, before it changed. I never worked that style. I take exception to that part, because my body, my X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, will tell a different story than a supposed soft style that we were working.”

Bill Goldberg has been in the news in recent weeks, with TMZ reporting “the wheels are in motion” for a WWE return. X-Pac likes the idea of Goldberg back in WWE and thinks CM Punk will also return one day. “The only thing I can say is, why not? It’s win/win for both sides. Who cares about the past, you know? Nobody in wrestling should ever say the word never, because everybody ends up eating that particular word and Goldberg’s not going to be any different. Neither is CM Punk eventually.”

Finally, Scott Hall spoke about the infamous “Curtain Call” at Madison Square Garden back in 1996, with Scott Hall saying, “Vince knew it was going to happen. I was talking to Vince when Shawn came in and said, hey blah blah blah and he went, is it important to you, and he said yes. And he said, OK make it happen. He said, I want Razor to come out, and I’m sitting right there.”
