Seth Rollins may be a regular on WWE programming, but fans did NOT see him in the latest trailer for Captain America: Brave New World. This week, a new trailer dropped for the much-anticipated film, the fourth in the Captain America series. While fans believed they saw a masked Rollins, the Raw Superstar clarified it was not him.
Rollins is credited with a role in the new film, though it’s been previously reported that he has been edited out of the final render of the film. Brave New World will see Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) continue to adapt to his role as Captain America and try and fill the shoes of Steve Rogers. Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) and Harrison Ford (Star Wars, Indiana Jones) are also attached.

Whether he appears or not, Rollins isn’t the first WWE name to be attached to the world of Marvel. For years, Dave Bautista played Drax The Destroyer in the MCU, with the character being seen as a breakout role for the former WWE World Champion. In 2002’s Spider-Man, ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage played wrestler ‘Bonesaw McGraw’ against Peter Parker before he became a superhero.
Damian Priest was reportedly cast for a role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and has said he was pulled from the project but not by Marvel. Becky Lynch filmed a post-credits scene for 2020’s Eternals, but it was nixed for reportedly being too depressing.
Seth Rollins was dressed to impress for his big match against Bronson Reed at WWE Crown Jewel, as wrestling fans have come to expect as much from the flamboyant Superstar. Rollins was sporting an immaculate fit styled by King Troi, who described his creation as, ‘Hype-Beast Meets High-Fashion.’
His the attire included an exaggerated hybrid denim/leather patchwork moto jacket designed by Troi and customized by Asanchez Fashion. The look was completed with gear by WWE costume designer Mikaze and “Space Jam 11s” footwear by Jumpman23.
Fashion designer King Troi is the visionary behind “The Visionary.” He’s responsible for the attention-grabbing fashion of Rollins, along with Becky Lynch and several other top WWE Superstars.
Rollins’ fashion choices have often taken center stage on WWE programming, such as in July of this year when he debuted his referee outfit at SummerSlam. Rather than the standard garb of an official, The Visionary wore a flamboyant striped garb for the CM Punk Vs. Drew McIntyre match that saw McIntyre get the pinfall victory.
Whatever role Seth Rollins finds him in on WWE TV, fans can always expect the Raw Superstar to look his best. Rollins will be a part of a fatal-four-way match this coming Monday to determine the next challenger for GUNTHER’s World Heavyweight Championship. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Seth Rollins and his fashion choices in and out of the ring.
The pair didn’t wait for the bell to ring to start brawling as they began fighting during Reed’s entrance. Once the match officially began, Reed hit a Tsunami but Rollins hit a stomp of his own shortly after. The finish of the match saw Rollins hit a series of stomps onto Reed (one of which was on the steel steps) which left the Australian bleeding above his eye.
Even after taking three stomps, Reed was quickly back on his feet after the match and made clear his issues with the Visionary are far from over.
WWE Crown Jewel is taking place from the Mohammad Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The card for the show is as follows:
Roman Reigns and The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga) (with Tonga Loa)
Cody Rhodes Vs. GUNTHER (WWE Crown Jewel Championship)
Nia Jax Vs. Liv Morgan (WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship)
Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Bronson Reed
Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens
LA Knight (c) vs. Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes (WWE U.S. Championship)
Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair (c) vs. Damage CTRL (Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky) vs. Meta-Four (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson) vs. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship)
The October 25, edition of WWE SmackDown was a stacked show as the Superstars of the blue brand sought to build momentum ahead of WWE Crown Jewel. The fans in Brooklyn, New York received a special treat after the show as Seth Rollins was in action in his first match in close to four months.
After SmackDown went off the air, Rollins defeated ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio, who had appeared during the show alongside Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. This match marked Rollins’ first match since Money in the Bank in July of this year, where he faced Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre. This match was the thirteenth time overall that Rollins and Mysterio have shared the ring after first facing off in Dominik’s in-ring debut at WWE SummerSlam 2020.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see Rollins back in the ring again, as he will face Bronson Reed at WWE Crown Jewel 2024. It was Reed’s attack on Rollins that would cost the former Universal Champions months of his career before Seth’s impactful return during the Last Monster Standing match.
The fans in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center also got a second episode of SmackDown, as the show set to air on November 1, was filed as WWE will be in Riyadh next week. Click here for the spoilers for next week’s edition of the blue brand.
WWE has announced that Seth Rollins will be going up against Bronson Reed in a singles match at the upcoming Crown Jewel special.
This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured another chaotic confrontation between the two stars. It started with Rollins calling out Reed during the opening segment of the show.
The security tried to stop the two WWE stars from getting physical but failed. Reed tried a couple of times to deliver a Tsunami on Rollins but the Architect moved out of the way. The segment ended with Bronson going through the announce desk at the ringside.
Bronson Reed’s reign of terror started with an attack on Seth Rollins back on the August 5 Raw. The former Shield member then returned to cost Reed his Last Monster Standing Match against Braun Strowman on the September 30 episode of the show. The two stars have been feuding since then.
This is the third match that has been announced for Crown Jewel apart from the two champion vs champion bouts made official by Triple H previously. Here is the updated card for the show:
WWE Crown Jewel Championship Match: Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. World Heavyweight Champion Gunther
WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship Match: Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan vs. Women’s Champion Nia Jax
Singles Match: Seth Rollins vs. Bronson Reed
WWE Crown Jewel will be taking place on Saturday, November 2 from the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Brock Lesnar last appeared on WWE programming at SummerSlam 2023 when he lost to Cody Rhodes in a hard-fought contest for both men. Lesnar has vanished from WWE due to his alleged involvement in the Janel Grant lawsuit, but WWE certainly had the Beast Incarnate on the brain during the October 14, episode of WWE Raw.
In a backstage segment, Seth Rollins tried to persuade General Manager Adam Pearce to give him a one-on-one match with Bronson Reed. During his promo, Rollins made reference to conquering a ‘beast’ in the past. This was a nod to Lesnar who Rollins dethroned as WWE Universal Champion at WrestleMania 35 in 2019.
In the ring, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes came face-to-face with World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER ahead of their showdown at WWE Crown Jewel. While Rhodes acknowledged GUNTHER being a ‘beast’ since arriving in WWE, he also touted his own accolades including having previously conquered a beast, i.e. Lesnar.
While Lesnar was not mentioned by name, these nods to the former WWE Universal Champion did not go unnoticed by fans. On Twitter/X, Lesnar’s name trended as thousands of posts were shared discussing these references and a potential return.
Brock Lesnar’s WWE Hiatus
Lesnar is alleged to have been one of the men Janel Grant was trafficked to during her tenure in WWE. It’s alleged that Vince McMahon trafficked Grant to Lesnar in order to secure a deal with the Beast. McMahon has denied all wrongdoing.
In July, WWE COO Paul Levesque said he’d be open to a conversation with Lesnar about a return if and when the Beast decided to initiate talks. Grant’s lawsuit is currently on hold as the Department of Justice launched a federal investigation on McMahon on May 30. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Brock Lesnar and his status as a WWE Superstar.
CM Punk went through a war inside Hell in a Cell to defeat Drew McIntyre, marking the end of the pair’s rivalry that has dominated WWE screens in 2024. With the Scottish Warrior in the rear-view mirror, Punk’s future remains uncertain, but fans may not be seeing the former World Champion in the ring anytime soon.
Punk opened up the October 7, edition of WWE Monday Night Raw by slowly making his way out, just far enough to speak to the audience. Punk explained that he was so banged up, he couldn’t walk all the way to the ring. The Best in the World was taped up in multiple places, and added that he’s as banged up as he’s ever been in his life.
Punk’s hiatus will likely see him miss WWE Crown Jewel on November 2, which doesn’t come as a surprise given his past comments about WWE’s relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Responding to a video of The Miz from WWE Backstage in January 2020, Punk told the A-Lister “Go suck a blood money-covered d**k in Saudi Arabia you f**king dork.”
On the August 5, episode of Raw, Bronson Reed vowed to make a name for himself and did just that by attacking Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, flattening him with six Tsunamis. After close to two months away, Rollins is back on WWE TV and is hungry for revenge on this year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner.
In the main event of the September 30, edition of WWE Raw, Reed faced Braun Strowman in the ‘Last Monster Standing’ match, which as the name suggests, was a collision of two titans of the red brand. After the ring exploded under the weight of a superplex between the two, Reed tried to get back to his feet, only to earn a stomp by the returning Rollins onto the steel steps.
Rollins’ war with Reed is far from over, judging by the finale of this week’s Monday Night Raw. The former Universal Champion has been appearing at NFL games during his time away and went viral after being ejected from the field during a Bears Vs. Colts game. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins now that the Visionary is back on WWE programming.
For the rest of the NFL season, I’ll be doing a pro football round-up and how the pro wrestling world collides with the stars and teams of the National Football league.
Unlike Week 4, Seth Rollins is very happy with his Chicago Bears after being “eliminated” from Lucas Oil Field courtesy of TY Hilton and Sheamus actually remembered to bring his “Luck of The Irish” for the football team he tried to hype (albiet collegiate football). Let’s get to it!
Seth Rollins’ Bears Get The Win, Set To Appear On NBC Sunday Night Football
More often than not, Seth Rollins has found himself on the losing end as a Bears fan, but this week his favorite team recorded a solid W against the Los Angeles Rams. Seth was quick to celebrate on social media and reveal that he’d be a special guest on tonight’s NBC Sunday Night Football to celebrate.
I love football!!
And I’m gonna talk about it tonight on @SNFonNBC!!!
Sheamus has been making his way all across the football hash marks and although this particular moment isn’t tied to the NFL, it’s tough to not feel the “Luck of the Irish” for “The Celtic Warrior.” Sheamus was in South Bend, IN to motivate Notre Dame as they clashed with the Louisville Cardinals. His hyping the Tennessee Titans fans last week didn’t get anything going, but Notre Dame sure was feeling a “fight night” as they handled Louisville 31-24.
“Bayley’s Biggest Fan” decided to follow in her hero’s footsteps by actually getting into the wrestling ring, and Izzy Moreno did just that on Sunday. Before the Houston Texans took on Tony Khan’s Jacksonville Jaguars, Izzy had her own kind of competition outside Houston Stadium. Moreno successfully defined her Mission Pro Championship Title in a singles match before kickoff.
You guys!!!!!!
I WRESTLED AND DEFENDED THE @MissionProWres TITLE AT NRG STADIUM!!!
Thunder Rosa Officiated A Match Between Simon Miller & Texan’s Mascot Toro
Moreno was not alone in Houston. One of her mentors. Thunder Rosa also happened to be in attendance for the big game as CJ Stroud and his Texans got the W against The Jaguars. However, Rosa made sure “Toro The Bull,” the Texans mascot, also got the W against Simon Miller in a match before the game.
Drew McIntyre didn’t endear himself anymore to Seth Rollins as he and Liv Morgan tagged up to hang with the Indianapolis Colts before they battled the Pittsburgh Steelers. McIntyre and Morgan joined Pat McAfee to hype the Royal Rumble coming to the city in 2025.
Someone on the Washington Commanders social media team is a wrestling fan, but MJF would like some residuals. In hype for their Monday Night Football game against the Bengals for week three, a video was posted on TikTok of MJF referring to the Midwest as “Mid”, but the team logo was superimposed over Max’s face. In classic heel fashion MJF took exception to the Commanders using his likeness.
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson has garnered a polarizing reputation among Jets fans, but one decision that was certainly good for wrestling fans is that WWE SummerSlam will be coming to MetLife Stadium early August of 2025. Johnson took to his X account to express his excitement for the two-night rendezvous with WWE as the Jets prepped to take on the Denver Broncos this Sunday. However, the Jets didn’t ride that moment and lost to Denver 10-9.
Quite the rebound for pro wrestling related NFL stories as the teams tied to stars came out of week mostly unscathed except those darn Jets! With Seth both representing the Bears and the Ravens the pro wrestling NFL connection stands at 5-1 for week three
After two weeks, wrestling related NFL stories stand at 6-5.
It’s fitting that Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns began the weekend confronting one another on a football field in their memorable “cinema” exchange on SmackDown because the NFL is always full of “cinema” week in and week out.
Starting this week for the rest of the NFL season, I’ll be doing a pro football/pro wrestling round-up – how the two worlds collide with one another during the NFL season.
Week 3 of the NFL had its fair share of upsets and defining Ws for certain teams, but pro wrestling was in full force on the gridiron. Stars from WWE and AEW were not just attending the games themselves, but players also took opportunity express their pro wrestling fandom.
Seth Rollins Gets “Royal Rumbled” By Star Colts WR!
Seth Rollins is unabashed in his fandom for the Chicago Bears and wears his emotions on his sleeve whether his team wins or loses. In near signature fashion, Rollins will typically wallow in a Bears loss by posting “I hate football” on X or will celebrate by writing “I love football” instead.
Rollins’ actions spoke louder than his words this week as the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was actually in attendance for the game as the Bears played in Indianapolis. Rollins was clearly the heel in enemy territory and a babyface TY Hilton, longtime Colts wide receiver, “tossed” Rollins “over the top” and onto the field as the Bears took the loss, dropping to 1-2 currently on the season.
Ric Flair Sees Similarities Between Aaron Rodgers and Arn Anderson
With Tom Brady retiring two seasons ago, Aaron Rodgers is currently the oldest active player in the NFL. Even with Brady, the New York Jets’ QB is one of the purest top talents to ever enter the league. It’s no surprise that before the Jets played the New England Patriots this past Thursday that Ric Flair took to social media to put a picture-by-picture comparison of Rodgers next to his Four Horsemen compatriot, Arn Anderson, one of the purest pro wrestlers to ever step foot in the ring.
.@AaronRodgers12, Tonight You Have To Become The Bad Man That You Are! Tonight You Need To Be As Tough As My Friend The Enforcer AA! Spine Buster DDT Every Patriot In Sight! You Are The Baddest Man On The Planet & I’m Your Biggest Fan! LFG @nyjets! WOOOOO! pic.twitter.com/2QSZrFXDrs
Rodgers infamously tore his Achilles tendon to start the 2023 season, taking him out for the whole year, but much like Arn, Rodgers didn’t appear to age on Thursday as he ripped the Patriots apart, going 27 for 35 with 281 passing yards, two touchdowns and a 118.9 passer rating. The Jets are now 2-1 after handing their division rival one hefty loss.
Sheamus Revs Up The Tennessee Titan Fans (Almost)
Sheamus may be Irish, but The Celtic Warrior packs quite the presence in Nashville, TN. Sunday was no exception as Sheamus took to Nissan Stadium to amp up the crowd ahead of the Titans playing the Packers. However, all that was “White Noise” as Will Levis and the Titans fell to the Green Bay Packers 30-14.
Many wrestling fans “believe” in Joe Hendry, but some NFL players do too. Jamaal Williams, running back for the New Orleans Saints, is one of them. Heading into warm-ups before his team played the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend, Williams hit up the Saints social media team to sing the Joe Hendry theme for the viewers.
— Triple H’s Thoughts ? (@TripleHHHPaulL) July 24, 2024
Williams may now have channel Journey with “Don’t Stop Believing” as the Saints fell to the Eagles 15-12.
AEW & WWE Stars Reunite For The 49ers vs. The Rams
There was quite the pro wrestling reunion in Los Angeles this weekend as AEW stars joined up with WWE stars to celebrate their San Francisco 49ers. Bayley, Leila Gray, Mercedes Mone, Tamina Snuka and Naomi all met up to cheer on the Brock Purdy-led red and gold. However, much like Giovanni Vinci this past Friday with Apollo Crews, the Los Angeles Rams has the Niners’ number, rolling up for an upset win with a game-winning field goal.
WWE superstar Seth Rollins was spotted at the Chicago Bears game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Lucas Oil Stadium. A die-hard Bears fan, Rollins attended the game during his current break from WWE and found himself in an unexpected viral moment with former Colts wide receiver, TY Hilton.
A Surprise Encounter with TY Hilton
In a playful interaction that delighted fans, Hilton, a former Colts standout, engaged with Rollins near the stands. Hilton humorously “threw” Rollins out of the seating area, causing the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion to tumble onto the field. The light-hearted scene was caught on camera and quickly spread across social media.
The game didn’t go well for Rollins’ Bears, who lost 21-16, dropping their season record to 1-2. Following the defeat, Rollins took to social media to vent his frustration, rekindling his well-known frustrations with the Bears’ performance. He reiterated his disappointment with football as a whole, continuing a theme he’s expressed in previous seasons.
The viral nature of the incident with TY Hilton generated significant buzz on social media. Fans of both WWE and the NFL discussed the crossover moment, making Rollins’ tumble one of the most talked-about highlights from Sunday’s game.
Rollins’ WWE Absence
Rollins’ appearance at the game comes amid his time off from WWE. He has been absent from programming since August 5, when he was brutally attacked by Bronson Reed on WWE Raw. Rollins has been recovering since the assault, and his time at the Bears game marked one of his rare public appearances during this hiatus.
Seth Rollins has been a WWE main eventer for quite some time, but his run at the top has been hampered by several major injuries during his illustrious career. Such issues have meant that Rollins has missed out on major PPV events, including WrestleMania and Royal Rumble shows in the past.
We’ll be looking at Rollins’ injury history here, including his most recent issue in August 2024 where he needed to be written off of television.
Major Injuries in Seth Rollins’ Career
Seth Rollins has suffered multiple injuries throughout his wrestling career, but a few stand out due to their severity and impact on his time in WWE.
Torn ACL, MCL, and Medial Meniscus (2015)
One of the most severe injuries in Rollins’ career occurred in November 2015 during a match against Kane at a WWE live event in Dublin, Ireland.
Rollins attempted a sunset flip powerbomb, but the landing caused his knee to buckle, resulting in a torn ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus.
This injury was devastating, as it required surgery and forced Rollins to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
The injury kept him out of action for approximately six to nine months, sidelining him from the main event of WrestleMania 32, where he was expected to play a major role.
Re-Injury and Subsequent Surgery (2016)
Shortly after his return in 2016, Rollins reinjured his knee during a match with Samoa Joe. While the injury was not as severe as the previous one, it still required him to take some time off and undergo minor surgery.
This re-injury raised concerns about the longevity of his career, given the intense physical demands of professional wrestling.
However, Rollins worked diligently to recover and made a triumphant return to WWE television, solidifying his status as one of the company’s top stars.
Lower Back Issues (2018)
In 2018, Rollins began experiencing lower back problems, which were likely exacerbated by years of intense physical activity and high-risk maneuvers.
Although this issue did not lead to a prolonged absence, it did cause Rollins to modify his in-ring style to some extent, focusing more on mat-based wrestling and less on high-flying.
This adjustment helped him maintain his status as a top performer while reducing the risk of further injury.
MCL Injury in January 2024
In January 2024, Seth Rollins suffered a significant MCL injury during a match on WWE RAW.
The incident occurred when Rollins took a bad landing, leading to a partial tear of his medial collateral ligament (MCL).
Despite the severity of the injury, Rollins chose to continue performing, albeit with a reduced in-ring schedule.
The decision to manage the injury conservatively allowed him to avoid surgery, but it did impact his performance throughout the early part of the year.
Latest Injury in August 2024
In August 2024, Seth Rollins sustained another serious injury during an on-screen attack by Bronson Reed on WWE RAW.
This storyline injury, however, masked a real and underlying issue Rollins had been dealing with—persistent lower back pain.
WWE used the angle to write Rollins off television, giving him time to recover from his ongoing back issues.
This injury has raised concerns about his long-term health and his future in the ring, though details on his recovery timeline remain unclear as of writing.
More has come to light about Seth Rollins and Dakota Kai after both Superstars were ambushed on the August 5, episode of RAW. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer claimed that he was told that these attacks were storyline covers for real injuries both Superstars are dealing with. Rollins’ situation is said to be “not bad” and he is still cleared to wrestle but he is “banged up.”
Rollins was attacked by Bronson Reed during RAW in arguably the biggest showcase for the Australian since arriving on the main roster. The former WWE World Champion was leveled with six Tsunami finishers and was seen bleeding from the mouth after the attack. Rollins was out of action with an injured knee earlier this year and did not compete at SummerSlam 2024, instead serving as a guest referee.
Like Rollins, Dakota Kai fell victim to an ambush on RAW, this time at the hands of Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Sonya Deville. The Kiwi Superstar was supposed to face Sonya Deville on the show but was replaced by ally IYO SKY.
Kai has a history of injuries, including an ACL tear in May 2023 that kept her out of action until March of this year. Her most recent TV match was on the July 8, RAW while her most recent match in WWE was part of the promotion’s recent tour of Japan. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest on these two Superstars and other ongoing injuries in the world of professional wrestling.
‘Big’ Bronson Reed kicked off a feud with Seth Rollins during the latest episode of RAW by destroying the former Universal Champion during the show. After a segment between Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and CM Punk, Reed struck and assaulted Seth. The Australian hit six Tsunami finishers, leaving Rollins gasping for breath and starting their feud with an immediate impact.
Rollins was seen coughing up blood and was attended to by officials before being helped out of the ring. Reed’s assault came after he was upset earlier in the night that he wasn’t booked for a match and said he’d have to make a path of his own.
In a backstage interview, Reed justified his attack on Seth Rollins.
“I’ve been telling the whole world I’m one of the best in this business week after week, and it’s falling onto deaf ears. So tonight, I did what I had to do. I crushed one of WWE’s golden boys. I hit tsunami after tsunami after tsunami after tsunami on Seth Rollins. To show you all, I’m not here to play around. The killer is unleashed, and Bronson Reed is at the very top of this business.”
Reed certainly made an impact, despite struggling earlier this week to make it to the show. On Twitter, Reed shared that his flight to RAW had been canceled twice.
Good travel day. Canceled flight. Delayed. Delayed some more. Delayed more. Now another cancelation.
A feud with Seth Rollins is a huge opportunity for Bronson Reed, three years after he was released from WWE. His exit came about as Vince McMahon did not see him as a main roster talent so cut the then-NXT Superstar. Reed returned in 2022 as part of a series of rehirings under Triple H. Since then he has competed for the Intercontinental title and won the 2024 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
Seth Rollins wouldn’t change a thing about betraying the Shield over a decade ago, as what he did on that June 2, 2014 RAW changed the face of wrestling. After the Shield defeated Evolution at the previous night’s Payback pay-per-view, Rollins betrayed his brothers with a steel chair and aligned with Triple H.
Since then, all three Shield members have gone on to become huge names in wrestling as well as all holding World Championships. When asked on ESPN SportsCenter if he’s reflected on the paths his betrayal caused, Rollins admitted that he wouldn’t change a thing about what he did.
“I’ve been asked about it a lot. Obviously, that’s the one thing if you’re a fan of Seth Rollins or the Shield or Jon Moxley or Roman Reigns, that’s the one thing that sits with you. Over the course of the last ten years, essentially. And I get asked about it all the time and I’ve thought about it. ‘Would you go back? Would you change it? Would you do something different?’ And my answer is unequivocally no, I wouldn’t.
“Because where we’re at now, the business as a whole is healthier than its ever been and that moment of time shifted everything. That’s what put us all on our separate paths. Our goal in the beginning was to run the show. To run the business, to change it, to make it better. And here we are, a decade later, and I dare say that it was accomplished with the swing of that steel chair.”
That steel chair shot certainly changed the landscape of WWE and Seth got a taste of his own medicine at WrestleMania 40 this past April when Roman Reigns delivered a chair shot of his own to the Architect. Ironically, this chair shot would cost the Tribal Chief, as picking Rollins over Cody Rhodes gave the latter the opening to hit three Cross Rhodes’ and end Reigns’ tenure as Undisputed WWE Champion.
Reigns, Rollins, and Moxley may be on separate paths, but the Shield will live on as one of the greatest factions in WWE. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on Seth Rollins and his Shield brothers as they continue to dominate the wrestling business.
For the use of quotes, please give an H/T to SE Scoops.
Seth Rollins was par for the course when it comes to outlandish outfits but his referee shirt had a little extra flare to it. Unlike Jerry Seinfeld, Rollins really wanted to ‘be a pirate’ as his officiating garb was a puffy shirt with the standard WWE zebra stripes.
Per usual, Rollins’ outfit of choice got wrestling fans talking online and Seth stated how he’s merely dipping his toe into the pizzazz pool.
“This is just the appetizer, baby. You gotta tune into #SummerSlam on Saturday for the main course…we’re gonna be eatin’ goooood!”

Rollins was a major player on the go-home episode of WWE RAW before SummerSlam as he was the main aspect to a near 20 minute segment on Monday. Rollins laid out the ground rules for CM Punk and Drew McIntyre for their grudge match this weekend as it will be Seth in the role as the special guest referee for the fight. Rollins has shown that he has no love loss for Punk or McIntyre.
On the previous episode of RAW, GM Adam Pearce made it clear that McIntyre and CM Punk cannot lay a finger on one another before their big fight.
Seth Rollins has equal incentive to cost Punk or McIntyre their victory against one another. Drew aimed to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase during Rollins’ match against Damian Priest and it was Punk who ultimately cost Rollins a victory by stopping McInytre.
Seth Rollins has revealed the official rules for the WWE SummerSlam showdown between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. Rollins opens the July 29th episode of WWE Raw by explaining his role as the special guest referee for the highly anticipated matchup, which has been building up since the Royal Rumble.
This is just the appetizer, baby. You gotta tune into #SummerSlam on Saturday for the main course…we’re gonna be eatin’ goooood! pic.twitter.com/iTlH4C7KMh
The Visionary invited Punk and McIntyre into the ring, then broke down exactly how he will be calling the action at the premium live event this Saturday in Cleveland. Rollins states that there is only one rule: both men must listen to everything that he says.
There is only one regulation. You two will listen to EVERYTHING I have to say. I call the shots. I’m the boss. I’m the law. I count to three when I want to count to three. You tap out, when I say you tap out. If there’s a count-out to be had, maybe there won’t be any count-outs I don’t know. I might count to ten, I might count to twenty, I might count to a million. Disqualifications? Referee’s discretion.
Rollins continued, telling his rivals that if either man disputes what he says, or gets in his way, there will be consequences.
I’m not some little referee you can just push around. I’m a spiteful little bastard and I will put your head in the dirt.
Punk was the first person to respond, telling Rollins that he better stay out of his way and let him finish his business with McIntyre. The segment ended with the Scottish Warrior holding Punk’s bracelet that has AJ Lee and his dog Larry’s name on it, a taunt that Punk was unable to do anything about.
Rollins officially got tangled up in this heated feud between McIntyre and Punk after Punk cost him the world heavyweight championship at Money In The Bank. He was initially supposed to defend the title against Punk at WrestleMania XL before the Second City Saint tore his triceps during the 2024 Royal Rumble, an injury that McIntyre proudly takes credit for.
WWE has officially confirmed CM Punk’s in-ring return match against Drew McIntyre for the upcoming SummerSlam 2024 event with a twist.
This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured a segment with the Straight Edge Star. Punk cut a promo on Drew McIntyre and tried to attack him when the Scottish Psychopath showed up at the ringside.
Adam Pearce however, brought in security to restrain the former AEW Star. He went on to announced a match between the two for the upcoming PLE, while also warning them of a suspension on getting physical before that.
Pearce then mentioned how he has a ‘referee’ problem which was the perfect cue for Seth Rollins. The Architect shaked Pearce’s hand and mentioned that no one wants to referee the match between the two WWE stars. He confirmed that he will be officiating the match at the upcoming show.
Seth Rollins spoke about his wife Becky Lynch during a sit-down interview with Michael Cole that aired during Saturday’s WWE Money in the Bank kickoff show.
Lynch is taking time off from WWE after her contract recently expired. She’s a free agent for the first time in many years. Wrestling fans around the world want to know if she’ll ever return to wrestling, or if we’ve seen The Man ride off into the sunset for the last time.
WWE’s senior broadcaster asked, “Becky obviously leaving WWE after losing the championship, she’s at home with your daughter, how’s she doing, how is The Man?” Rollins respectfully wouldn’t speak for his wife, but did provide a positive update on her and their daughter.
“The Man’s great. She’s great,” Rollins said of his wife. “I can’t speak to her future or what she’s got moving forward, but she’s great, she’s in good spirits. The little one’s awesome as well. She’s a menace, she runs the ship.”
Becky Lynch is currently a free agent for the first time in over a decade, when she initially signed with WWE in 2013. She has not publicly addressed her future in wrestling.
Lynch had an eventful year in WWE, participating in major events like the Royal Rumble and winning the Elimination Chamber match, which led to a WrestleMania XL title match against Rhea Ripley. Although she lost that match, she later won the vacant Women’s World Championship in April, only to lose it 33 days later at King and Queen of the Ring. Her WWE contract reportedly expired on June 1.
You can watch Seth Rollins comments about Becky Lynch’s future here:
Seth Rollins speaks on how Becky Lynch is doing after leaving WWE:
“I can’t speak to her future or what she’s got moving forward, but she’s great. She’s in good spirits”
Seth Rollins’ Monday Night Messiah character dominated WWE television for a good run, but the idea was allegedly jacked from another Superstar.
Elias, who was released from WWE last year, claims the company stole one of his ideas. He shared with Metro.co.uk that he was always brainstorming to evolve his character. One idea he was enthusiastic about was the “Monday Night Messiah.”
“There was a character that I really thought could have been incredible myself, it was the Monday Night Messiah. And if you realize, Seth Rollins and AOP ended up – for lack of better terms, they just gave it to those guys.”
“I had a real vision of me being the Pied Piper of Monday Night Raw and controlling people, with kind of a cult-like leader. The biblical themes and things like that, I always love that Messiah stuff,” he added.
No Hard Feelings
The former WWE Superstar, who was best known for his musical Drifter persona, insists there is no ill will towards Seth Rollins, though he feels he had a great vision for the character.
Elijah mentioned that his pitch was just one of many he submitted to the creative team until his last day, noting that it’s common for such ideas to be given to wrestlers who are more prominent.
Elias explained that higher-paid wrestlers or those in the spotlight often receive more resources and attention. He emphasized that this was not a criticism of Seth Rollins, whom he acknowledged as an incredible talent, but rather an observation of how the system operates and the inherent risks in sharing creative ideas.
Seth Rollins found great success with the “Monday Night Messiah” persona, which eventually evolved into his “The Visionary” character.
Becky Lynch’s WWE contract is set to expire on Saturday. Following her loss on this week’s WWE Raw, it will probably be quite some time before The Man comes back around. Dave Meltzer addressed Lynch’s situation on Thursday’s Wrestling Observer Radio. With just days remaining on her WWE contract, Lynch is reportedly taking an extended leave of absense.
Her husband Seth Rollins is injured and off the road, so it makes sense for her to at least time some time off. However, Lynch’s situation is more than a vacation.
Prior to WrestleMania XL, Lynch told Chris Van Vliet that she wasn’t worried about the fact that her WWE contract was running out. Ariel Helwani later asked Lynch if she’d consider working for other companies. She replied,“I’m with WWE,” but expressed uncertainty about her situation.
Endeavor is handling WWE contracts differently, as seen with Seth Rollins, who re-signed before his contract expired. Lynch’s future remains unclear, but she could become a major free agent in June if WWE doesn’t finalize a new deal.
Tony Khan commented on the possibility of making a play for Lynch, and he made it clear that he will not tamper with her contract. She finished her WWE commitments on Monday’s Raw by losing to Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan in a steel cage match.
Chris Jericho has also given his two cents on the situation, as he said that AEW is now an option for her.
“Five years ago, Becky would have no other options. [I’m] not saying that she’s coming but there is an option and who knows what could happen? No one thought that Jericho would come to AEW. No one thought that Moxley would come or Bryan Danielson or Adam Cole or any of these guys that have come over.
So it’s exciting for the fans. It’s exciting for the wrestlers, the talent, because now suddenly if there’s a bidding war that just benefits us. So I think it’s it’s very important.”

WWE Superstars Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins walked the red carpet at Saturday’s 150th Kentucky Derby. The race was won by Mystik Dan in a 3-way photo finish.
Seth Rollins has been out of the public eye since WrestleMania 40, where he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre. He played a pivotal role in the Bloodline Rules main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, ultimately sacrificing himself to help Cody conquer the Tribal Chief. Since then, Rollins underwent knee surgery and signed a new multi-year WWE contract.
On Saturday, Rollins showed up looking dapper as usual and was sporting a different look than we last saw him. It’s hard to see everything going on under that hat, but he’s sporting a very different haircut and has trimmed his beard down to short stubble. Below, you can see photos, along with clips of them talking about the inspiration behind their outfits, the Kentucky Derby and a big announcement – WrestleMania 41 is headed to Las Vegas in 2025.

It’s Friday, and you know what that means, it’s time for the Daily Drop. Today’s edition should catch you up on everything you need to know before going out into the pro wrestling community today.
Before we get going, probably the biggest story in pro wrestling has to do with Janel Grant’s lawsuit. John Laurinaitis has changed his position in the ongoing legal case involving former WWE executive Vince McMahon. Previously, Laurinaitis had claimed to be a victim but has now filed a motion to support McMahon’s efforts to counter Janel Grant’s allegations. This change is a significant shift in the case. Initially, Laurinaitis distanced himself from McMahon, but his latest legal action aligns him closely with McMahon, forming a united front against Grant’s accusations.

Following Dynamite, Rampage aired a live episode and drew 431,000 viewers with a 0.15 demographic rating. This was a significant improvement over the last Rampage after Collision, which had 293,000 viewers and a 0.09 rating.
Seth Rollins has re-signed with WWE, meaning that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be around for a long time to come.
Some were concerned about the ticking clock on Rollins’ WWE deal, but he has agreed to terms on a new contract, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Selectreports.
It was noted that the mindset was that “They’re not going to let him go.” The 37-year-old’s new agreement will keep him in the company until his 40s.
Seth Rollins just lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL as Drew McIntyre ended his 316-day reign. The Scottish Warrior’s championship run lasted just over five minutes when CM Punk attacked him, which opened the door for Damian Priest to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank contract. Rollins has since taken time off to recover from a knee surgery.
Recently, WWE has also secured contracts with Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, and Damian Priest, underscoring a period of significant re-signings.
Endeavor Handling WWE Contracts
WWE fans are getting their first glimpse of how Endeavor will handle these big-money contracts. They certainly waited a lot longer than the previous regime did to re-sign talent in most cases.
Seth Rollins’ wife, Becky Lynch, has not signed a new deal as of this writing, When Ariel Helwani questioned her about this prior to WrestleMania XL, she did not seem worried about not getting a new deal with WWE. As of April, her contract was expiring in two months’ time.
Fans won’t be seeing Seth Rollins in the ring for some time, but Cody Rhodes was able to pay tribute to his friend and former rival during a recent WWE live event.
At WWE’s recent event Belfast, Northern Ireland, Rhodes headlined the show with an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Shinsuke Nakamura. For his entrance, Rhodes wore a ring jacket that featured both his logo and Rollins’ logo. Given that Cody hadn’t worn this particular jacket at previous nights of the tour, it appears this was in response to the news that Seth is currently recovering from knee surgery.
You can check out Cody’s jacket in the video below which also sees the WWE Champion give some lucky young fans a special moment.
Rollins’ knee surgery was disclosed by his wife Becky Lynch during an episode of RTE One’s The Late, Late Show. This revelation came after it was reported that Rollins would be taking time off following WrestleMania 40, an event that saw Seth in action on both nights. Earlier this year, Rollins suffered an MCL tear and partial meniscus tear during his match with Jinder Mahal but was able to avoid having surgery.
At this time, there’s no confirmation as to how much time Rollins will miss due to his surgery. Typically, surgeries for MCL tears can take anywhere between six to twelve months to fully heal. After a 316-day reign as Champion though, Rollins has earned himself some time off and we’re wishing him a full and speedy recovery.
