WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins recently spoke to the Greg Atoms Showon 1130-KWKH following his match at the Survivor Series. The ‘Architect’ spoke about his bout with Shinsuke Nakamura and the respect he holds for the United States Champion. Rollins also spoke about his retirement plans and what he plans to do following his in-ring career.
Rollins stated that “Yes, we had mingled a little bit in the Royal Rumble last year, but first time in a single match for sure. For me, you know I can’t speak for him, but for me a lot of respect, he’s someone who I’ve admired from afar.”
Rollins elaborated further by saying that “To be able to get into the ring with him, test myself against him, really get to find out how good I am. It’s a treat, he was an excellent opponent and I was glad that we got that first out of the way successfully.”
Seth also spoke about his plans post-retirement. Rollins claimed that “I’ve already kind of got something going with my wrestling school back home in Iowa. I think once I get off the road and my in-ring career is done take probably at least take a few years off and relax a little bit. You know, but who knows I always like giving back to the business.”
Rollins followed up by saying that “It’s been my passion, like you said, my entire life. So it’s certainly something I feel like I’ll be involved in one way or another for as long as I can as long as I’m giving something and you know making progress, not just kind of stagnating.”

It appears that a rumor started to make the rounds today indicating that Seth Rollins’ Curb Stomp finisher was once again banned by WWE. The move had previously been banned before but was reinstated in 2017. A writer at WrestlingNewsSource took to Twitter and reported that someone confirmed to him the move had, in fact, been banned by WWE once again.
However, Rollins responded to the Tweet and flat out denied it:
Speculation about the move’s status begun after Rollins failed to nail Dolph Ziggler with it a few times on Monday Night RAW last night. However, Rollins eventually hit Ziggler with the Falcon Arrow for the win. Per Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, the reason Rollins won with the Falcon Arrow and not the Curb Stomp is because WWE really wants to get the move over.
Alvarez noted Rollins does the move in nearly every match and people go crazy for it, but it never wins him bouts. Now, the fact that the move can actually finish matches will make it a hotter near-fall. So, it looks like – for now – the Curb Stomp is safe and will continue to be used by “The Architect.”
How do you feel about WWE attempting to get the Falcon Arrow over?
Tomasso Ciampa doesn’t care about Seth Rollins’ attempts at proving himself to be a fighting champion.
Rollins hosted an open challenge for his Intercontinental Championship last night on Raw. He would go on to successfully defend his title against the man who answered the challenge, Dolph Ziggler.
Prior to Raw, Rollins took to Twitter to hype up the open challenge:
Time to refocus heading towards Ambrose and #TLC. I learn the most by testing myself…so the #ICTitle Open Challenge returns tomorrow night on #Raw. #mondaynightrollins It’s go time.
The current NXT champion, “Blackheart” Tomasso Ciampa, however, took chagrin to the Tweet and the entire concept of an open challenge.
In a not-so-subtle shot, the NXT champion highlighted that “Cena had the US Title Open Challenge. Rollins has the IC Title Open Challenge,” but “CIAMPA does not, nor will he ever, offer an NXT Title Open Challenge.”
He bluntly stated that if “You want a shot at The Champ, earn it,” before signing off with “#ZeroParticipationAwards”.
The concept of the open challenge has become repopularized over the past few years, with both Cena and Rollins having hosted a successful series that helped to regain some prestige to the title they were defending. Cena’s long-running open challenge, in particular, helped to elevate the flagging US championship at the time.
Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey didn’t wrestle during the broadcast of Raw and instead, she was involved in a segment with her TLC opponent Nia Jax during the show.
Though she wrestled after the show went off air and the Women’s Champion teamed up with Sasha Banks, Bayley, Natalya and Ember Moon for a 10 women tag team match.
This group went against the team of Tamina Snuka, Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan and the faces won the bout to try to send the crowd home happy.
Seth Rollins Comments On His Victory
We noted before how Seth Rollins announced that he will be holding an Intercontinental Championship open challenge during the latest episode of Monday Night Raw.
We saw Seth holding the challenge during the final hour of the show and it was answered by Dolph Ziggler. The match was won by Rollins and he retained the title via a Falcon Arrow.
After the show, the IC Champion was interviewed backstage where he talked about his victory during the episode and how he is the true best in the world. You can check out Seth Rollins’ interview in the video below:
WWE Intercontinental Champion, Seth Rollins, plans to issue an “Open Challenge” for his title tonight. “Monday Night” Rollins already has plenty of potential opponents lining up for a chance to face him as well.
Time to refocus heading towards Ambrose and #TLC. I learn the most by testing myself…so the #ICTitle Open Challenge returns tomorrow night on #Raw. #mondaynightrollins It’s go time.

Seth Rollins Open Challenge Possible Challengers
Not long after the Intercontinental champion issued the challenge, challengers began making themselves heard.
Ricochet let Rollins know he’s open to challenging him. He’d even put his NXT North American Championship on the line as well.
Lio Rush also wants to face Rollins but he also took issue with Cedric Alexander calling out the champ. The two 205 Liver roster members then went back and forth on Twitter.
The amount of hot raw garbage that comes out of your face is amazing…..
As we hurtle towards ‘The Road To Wrestlemania,’ we have an update on who the WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, could be facing come April 7th. Early reports highlighted that Lesnar might clash with Braun Strowman. However, according to Dave Meltzer, this may not actually be the case.
Reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan for Brock Lesnar now sees him taking on, Seth Rollins. Unless the WWE want to commit to a champion-versus-champion matchup, the implication is that Seth will drop the Intercontinental title. This could possibly take place against Dean Ambrose at TLC.
It’s reported that the Rollins vs Lesnar feud will use Roman Reigns’ unfortunate diagnosis as a narrative starting point but there are no specifics at this time.
Tabbles, Ladders and Chairs
‘The Beast Incarnate’ vs ‘The Monster Among Men’ seemed secure as Raw’s main event scene for the foreseeable future. However, with Strowman scheduled to receive elbow surgery in order to remove bone spurs, it leaves the WWE’s initial plans in limbo.
Although still slated to face off against Baron Corbin at TLC, it is unclear about the surgery’s rehabilitation time. However, the WWE appears confident in a January return.
The major stipulation for their clash would have seen Strowman receive a WWE Universal Title shot if victorious. Conversely, if Corbin were to succeed, he would gain full General Managership of Monday Night Raw.
Supposedly, the original outcome would have seen Braun win in order to challenge Lesnar going forward.
Contractual Obligations
With only a handful of matches left on his renewed contract, the WWE will want to pair up their Universal Champion against top contenders as we head towards April.
Post-WrestleMania, it is expected that Lesnar will wrap up all WWE commitments and return to the UFC, where it is speculated he will compete against the champ-champ, Daniel Cormier.
What do you think of this matchup? Would you prefer Beast vs Monster or Beast vs Architect?
WWE has announced the first match for the final pay-per-view event of the year for the company, TLC.
It was revealed during the Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center on the WWE Network that Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins would defend his title against Dean Ambrose at this event. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on what the stipulation for this match will be.
Just last month, Ambrose and Rollins beat Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler to win the RAW Tag Team Titles. However, after the match, Ambrose turned heel by attacking Rollins.
Now, with Roman Reigns being out of action, it appears that the feud between the RAW Tag Team Champions will be the top program on the flagship show of the company. Rollins would later lose the titles to Authors of Pain. WWE is already advertising Ambrose vs. Rollins for upcoming live events including the final episode of RAW before WrestleMania 35 that goes down on April 1st from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.
The TLC pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, December 16th, 2018 in San Jose, California at the SAP Center and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets.
The “Lunatic Fringe” has finally revealed what made him turn on his partner Seth Rollins a few weeks ago on Raw.
After defeating Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre in a tag-team championship match on the October 22nd episode of Raw, Ambrose turned on his partner Rollins, which was a big surprise move.
It was the same night when Roman Reigns revealed that he has been fighting from leukemia.
Ambrose again attacked Rollins last week after he lost the tag team titles to The Authors of Pain in a handicap match.
On this week’s episode of Raw, Seth Rollins was looking for answers about the betrayal from his Shield brother, and it was finally revealed in a weird promo.
Ambrose, sitting on a car next to a lit barrel, explained that he attacked Rollins because he believed that Rollins and Reigns made him weak because he had to watch their backs. He used to believe that the Shield vest made him strong, but he doesn’t think so anymore.
Saying that, he poured gasoline over the vest and threw it onto a burning barrel.
Dean Ambrose has broken silence on turning on Seth Rollins. WWE held a live event on Tuesday night in Leeds, England at the First Direct Arena. Since the attack, Rollins has been asking his former tag team partner to explain himself.
However, we still haven’t heard anything from him on WWE TV. Ambrose cut a promo about it at the live event prior to their match. Ambrose stated that if only Rollins asked him nicely to explain himself it might have helped him. Ambrose said that Rollins was too stupid and too selfish because he wanted to do it all by himself.
“Lucky for you, tonight isn’t gonna be like last night, because I don’t give two cents about your stupid championship. All I care about tonight is beating your a** (h/t to theMirror).”

Nikki Bella defeated Natalya
Braun Strowman defeated Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler in a handicap match
The Authors Of Pain defeated Seth Rollins in a handicap match to win the WWE RAW Tag Team Titles on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Manchester, England at the Manchester Arena on the USA Network. Dean Ambrose, who was the previous tag team champion alongside Rollins, didn’t work the match but did come out after the match to attack Rollins.
WWE’s YouTube channel released this video of Rollins sending a warning to Ambrose by stating that he has asked Ambrose to face him like a man for two weeks now to find out why he stabbed in the back. Thus, he vows to “beat those reasons out of him.”
Paul Heyman On Managing Brock Lesnar
Paul Heyman recently opened up on managing new WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and leading the Original Midnight Express in WCW 30 years ago. Heyman, who will be at ringside to see his client take on AJ Styles at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view event, took to his official Twitter account to talk about Lesnar.
His first post read, “30 years ago to the day, I led the Original Midnight Express onto #SuperStationTBS and debuted in #WCW. 30 years later, STILL ON TOP, as the #Advocate for the highest profile athlete in the sport, @WWE #UniversalChampion @BrockLesnar!”
He may be the current WWE Intercontinental Champion, but let’s not forget that Seth Rollins has history with the WWE’s black-and-yellow brand. He was, after all, the inaugural NXT champion.
It was in NXT that he, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns were initially developed. They would be subsequently packaged together for their main roster debut as The Shield.
Turns out, ‘The Architect’ keeps tabs on his old stomping grounds in NXT and has his eyes on particular talents that he believes will be major players on the WWE’s main roster.
They’ll Make Waves
Speaking with AlArabiya.net, Seth Rollins pinpointed a few NXT superstars that had caught his attention:
“There’s a ton of guys down there with absolutely incredible potential,” he said. “Shayna Baszler is one of those people who I never got a chance to watch that much, but I saw her on the NXT show last Sunday and I was blown away. I think she’s fantastic.”
He highlighted that “Velveteen Dream is really good—he’s got something wacky about him. I’ve always been a fan of Ricochet,” he continued. “I’ve known him since he was a 17-year-old kid from Paducah, Kentucky. I’ve always thought the world of him and I’m looking forward to seeing what he does in the future.
Rollins rounded out his praise by talking about the Undisputed Era. He stated that “those guys are fantastic” before adding, “I think there’s a lot of talent down in NXT that has the chance to make waves when they move up to the main roster.”
Speaking with alarabyia.net, the current WWE Intercontinental Champion, Seth Rollins, shared his thoughts on his Shield brethren, Roman Reigns, and his unfortunate battle with his returning leukemia.
‘The Architect’ admitted that it “threw everything up in the air” and that it’s “hard to go a day without thinking about him and how he’s doing and hoping he’s doing alright. I’m fighting the urge to check in on him like a brother every two hours, but he’s a strong dude, and I know that he’s in a good place mentally as well as physically.”
He did shine some light on Reigns’ current health, however, saying that “He’s in good health for the most part. I think he’s going to be able to fight this thing pretty strong. We’re just getting through it while we can.”
“Obviously it’s going to be easier as time goes on,” Rollins reflected, “but certainly, the last couple weeks have been, and last week especially, have been a rollercoaster of emotions. Lots of ups and downs.”
Roman Reigns was sadly rediagnosed with lekaemia. This forced him to relinquish the WWE Universal Championship on RAW a few weeks ago, where he publicly addressed his health issues to a shocked WWE Universe.
WWE announced the first Champion vs. Champion match for Survivor Series yesterday confirming that Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will face SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.
Now the company has confirmed another similar bout and announced that the Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins will face the United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura at the upcoming Survivor Series PPV.
It’s worth mentioning that this will be the first time these two will compete as Shinsuke debuted on SmackDown after Brand Split returned and Rollins has been on Raw since the beginning of it.
Stipulation Announced For Crown Jewel World Cup
Shane McMahon spiced things up for the upcoming Crown Jewel World Cup tournament with an interesting announcement during the latest episode of SmackDown Live.
The SmackDown Commissioner announced that if any SmackDown Star reaches the final of the tournament and then loses the bout then he will have to leave the show and find a new home for himself.
Jeff Hardy, The Miz, Randy Orton, and Rey Mysterio are the four SmackDown stars who are currently scheduled to compete at the show. It will be interesting to see if this announcement ends up being the start of a new storyline for any of them.
Tomorrow night (Sun. October 28, 2018) SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will defend her title against Charlotte Flair. The two bitter rivals will go head-to-head in a Last Woman Standing match for the strap. Ahead of their contest, Lynch participated in an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit.
Despite currently being in a feud with Flair, Lynch was asked about a possible program with current RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. Lynch likes the idea of getting the chance to punch “The Rowdy One” in the jaw:
“Ronda’s jaw is always running but my fist is itching to catch up with her. Charlotte first, and then I’ll plan my next move. But I’ve said it before: Ronda reminds me of a slot machine — the harder you kick her, the more money falls out.”
Lynch was then asked about a possible intergender match in WWE. The trend has been very popular in the indy professional wrestling community as of late. While it’s highly unlikely WWE picks up on it, Lynch knows who she’d like to share the ring with if given the opportunity:
“Seth Rollins.”
What do you think about Lynch wanting a feud with Rousey, and a match with Rollins?
The WWE is slated to make a return to world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, in New York City on Wednesday, December 26th, 2018 for a live event.
There have been some changes to the card due to ongoing storylines and Roman Reigns being out of action due to his battle with leukemia. Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship inside of a steel cage, Braun Strowman vs. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre in a 1 on 2 handicap match and Finn Balor vs. Bobby Lashley in a singles match has been added to the card.
This event was originally advertised to feature the superstars from the blue brand, SmackDown Live. However, the company has decided to make it a RAW event. Rollins vs. Ambrose is expected to headline the show. The line-up now features:
Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose – Steel Cage match for the Intercontinental Championship
Braun Strowman vs. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre – 1 On 2 Handicap match
RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Mickie James
Finn Balor vs. Bobby Lashley
Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne, Ricochet, Aleister Black & Velveteen Dream vs. The Undisputed Era & Tommaso Ciampa
Elias, Jinder Mahal, Alexa Bliss, and Bayley are also advertised for this show. The WWE will be announcing more matches for this live event in the coming weeks.
It was revealed on Monday during RAW that Roman Reigns had to relinquish the Universal Title due to his battle with leukemia. Later in the show, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins beat Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler to win the RAW Tag Team Titles. However, after the match, Ambrose turned heel by attacking Rollins.
Now, with Reigns being out of action, it appears that the feud between the RAW Tag Team Champions will be the top program on the flagship show of the company. WWE is already advertising Ambrose vs. Rollins for upcoming live events as well as Braun Strowman vs. McIntyre with Ziggler in his corner.
These matches are also advertised for the final episode of RAW before WrestleMania 35 that goes down on April 1st from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. Also advertised for this show is Alexa Bliss, Bobby Lashley, Sasha Banks, Finn Balor, Bayley, Elias, Nia Jax, Jinder Mahal, and Bobby Roode.

Seth Rollins made some WWE history on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Providence, RI at the Dunkin Donuts Center on the USA Network as he and Dean Ambrose beat Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre to win the WWE RAW Tag Team Titles. Reddit user MutilatedCattle pointed out that Rollins is now the first man in WWE history be a double champion with every single ‘Grand Slam’ championship.
In order to achieve this, the talent must hold the WWE/Universal, Tag Team, Intercontinental, and US titles at some point, which Rollins has done. He has held the WWE and US titles at the same time in 2015 while now holds the tag team and IC titles at the same time.
Road To Evolution Special Viewership
WWE aired the “Road To WWE Evolution” television special on the USA Network after Monday Night RAW went off the air. It delivered 1.114 million viewers, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. It will also air on the E! Network following Total Divas on Wednesday night.
WWE hyped the special by stating that it “will chronicle the journey to the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event, WWE Evolution” as well as “look back on the groundbreaking Women’s Evolution in WWE, featuring Superstars of the past, present and future coming together to celebrate a new chapter in WWE history.”
The ending of Monday Night Raw left fans in a state of shock for many different reasons.
With Dean Ambrose turning on his Shield brother, Seth Rollins, after winning the tag team titles from Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler, the attack left viewers emotionally conflicted.
This is because the man that completes their trio, Roman Reigns, had only just revealed his unfortunate battle with leukemia earlier that night. During his heartfelt promo, Reigns would also relinquish the WWE Universal Championship.
Turns out that Ambrose’s actions weren’t originally planned to take place this past Monday. Original plans had his assault scheduled in November circa Survivor Series.
Dirty Deeds
According to the Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez, Dean “wasn’t even supposed to turn heel last night.”
Apparently, “the actual plan was that he was going to turn around Survivor Series and they [the WWE] moved it up and they specifically did it to capitalize on the emotions of a guy who’s home to fight for his life.”
He also speculated that a huge one-on-one match between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins would be scheduled for Wrestlemania 35 on April 7th, 2019.
“I believe 100% that the WrestleMania main event is Seth Rollins challenging Dean Ambrose for the WWE Title,” he said. “Now how you get there, I have no idea.”
What do you think? Would you like to see this match main event Wrestlemania 35? Were you conflicted at all at what transpired? How would you like to see them book their feud going forward?
Dean Ambrose turned on Seth Rollins this Monday Night on Raw. It’s the second time a member of the Shield has turned on his brothers, Rollins himself having been the first back in 2014.
Before Monday, however, Rollins took part in an interview with the Daily Express in the UK. When asked what female member of the WWE roster would make a good member of the Shield, Rollins had someone specific in mind.
“The Shield has got a lot of attitude, we got a lot of intensity,” Rollins said. “My gut instinct is Sasha Banks, to be honest. I think she’s got the intangibles.”
Seth Rollins and Sasha Banks WWE Careers Thus Far
Banks was signed to WWE and reported to the Performance Center in 2012, around the same time the Shield was being called up to the main roster. Reigns and Rollins were signed to WWE in 2010 and Ambrose was signed in 2011. They then debuted on the main roster together in 2012.
Banks debuted on NXT programming in late 2012. She wouldn’t be called up to the main roster until 2015, however. This was during the very early stages of the Women’s Revolution on the main roster. At the time, Banks was part of Team B.A.D with Naomi and Tamina.
This week’s episode of Raw started and ended with awe as we saw some of the biggest wrestling stories of the year unfolding during the show.
The opening segment saw Roman Reigns delivering an emotional speech and revealing that he will have to relinquish the Universal Championship due to the return of leukemia.
The segment ended with Roman leaving the title in the ring and heading backstage with his Shield brothers. WWE posted this behind the scenes video of the now former Universal Champion greeting with other WWE superstars backstage after the revelation:
On the other hand, the ending of Raw saw Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeating the team of Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler to win the Raw Tag Team Championships.
However, this duo didn’t celebrate for long. Ambrose turned on his Shield-brother moments after the bout ended and left Rollins laying at the ringside after a vicious post-match attack.
After the show went off air, WWE posted the following video of Seth from their YouTube account in which he can be seen recovering from this shock and making his way back to the bakcstage area:
What did you think about the events that took place on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
A big title change went down on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Providence, RI at the Dunkin Donuts Center on the USA Network.
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeated Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre to win the WWE RAW Tag Team Titles. This marks the second time that they have held the titles together. After the match, Ambrose turned heel by attacking Rollins and connecting with Dirty Deeds. He would later beat him down to end the show.
Although the company has yet to officially announce when the Ziggler and McIntyre will get their rematch for the gold, it’s likely to come soon, but with this heel turn, things are up in the air as to where this storyline goes. WWE could have Ambrose and Rollins vacate the titles or force them to defend them against Ziggler and McIntyre at their next pay-per-view event.
WWE presents the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on November 2nd, 2018 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Saud University Stadium and will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming days.
Matt Riddle has responded to what WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins recently said.
Last week, the WWE RAW star made an appearance on WWE’s Facebook page to do a live Q&A with fans where he talked about a wide range of topics including who he’d like to face in the ring. This is where he named Riddle as he stated that he thinks Riddle is super talented and has an interesting skill set.
He said that Riddle has a different style and is always intrigued by that. He added that “I’d like to see how Riddle and my style mesh together.”
Riddle caught a video of what Rollins had to say and responded by stating, “You’re a stallion @WWERollins hopefully it happens sooner than later bro #bro #kingofbros #stallion #wwe #WWENXT.”
It was revealed in August at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4 that he had signed with the WWE as he was sitting front row at the show. Riddle will also make his NXT TV debut on the WWE Network in the coming weeks. It will be interesting to see how long WWE keeps Riddle down in NXT before bringing him up to the main roster whether that’s on their flagship show, Monday Night RAW, or SmackDown Live. Whichever brand he ends up on, there will be a long list of superstars who will look forward to sharing the squared circle with him.
Seth Rollins is one of WWE’s most decorated Superstars on their roster. “The Architect” has had a run with nearly every belt under the sun. After becoming the first NXT Champion, Rollins won the WWE, United States, Intercontinental, and Tag Team Titles as well. Not to mention he’s a member of one of the most famous factions of all time in The Shield.
He currently reigns as the WWE Intercontinental Champion over on Monday Night RAW. Rollins appeared at the ACE Comic-Con in Chicago, Illinois as part of the WWE panel. He answered several questions from fans. One question was what he has left that he’d like to accomplish in WWE.
Rollins noted that he has yet to be on the marquee for a headlining match at WrestleMania. Perhaps WrestleMania 35 in New York next year offers him the best opportunity to do so, given he’s having a hot year at the moment:
“The one thing that I haven’t done is been on the marquee in the main event at WrestleMania,” said Rollins. “So, I don’t know man. 2018 has been a really good year for me, so we’ll see what WrestleMania brings next year in New York.”
While Rollins hasn’t been on the marquee for a WrestleMania main event, he has won one. Rollins cashed in his Money In The Bank (MITB) briefcase at WrestleMania 31, pulling off the “Heist Of The Century,” pinning Roman Reigns during his WWE Title match with Brock Lesnar to leave Santa Clara with the title.
What do you think about Rollins possibly main eventing a WrestleMania?
The hype between a potential match-up between Kenny Omega and Seth Rollins has really picked up over the past 24 hours. It all started yesterday when Rollins mentioned the IWGP heavyweight champ during his appearance at the ACE Comic Con in Chicago, Illinois. A fan asked Rollins who he’d like to wrestle with that isn’t currently signed to WWE. “The Architect” named Omega as his desired opponent.
“I would like to face Kenny Omega,” said Rollins. “I am the best wrestler in the world, and would like to prove that.”
This would certainly be a dream match for professional wrestling fans. Omega and Rollins are currently killing it with their respective brands.
On Saturday morning, Omega spotted the headline in which Rollins called him out. He took to Twitter to issue out a response to a potential match with Rollins. Omega seems interested in the “historic clash,” but believes it requires an “appropriate venue” for such a occasion. “An exciting proposal…Now if only there were an appropriate venue for such a historic clash…”
An exciting proposal…Now if only there were an appropriate venue for such a historic clash… ? https://t.co/zOxFKGAqk4
WWE could very well scoop up Omega next year. Omega’s current deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) is up in January of 2019. When the Canadian hits the free agency market, it’s expected WWE makes a big push to sign him to their roster.
WWE certainly has the funds, especially after their broadcast deals from earlier this year, and the profits from their Saudi Arabia shows.
What do you think about Omega’s response to Rollins?
WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins is undoubtedly one of the best professional wrestlers on the planet right now. However, across the pond, there’s another man who rivals him in that department. That man is current IWGP heavyweight champion Kenny Omega. “The Cleaner” has been the face of New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) for quite some time.
With his contract coming up soon, however, Omega could possibly hit the free agency market. That would make him ripe for the plucking for WWE. WWE will be able to offer Omega a contract that likely no other promotion can match. Especially with the money they’ve made from their recent broadcast deals and shows in Saudi Arabia. The professional wrestling juggernaut is expected to make big moves once several top stars’ contracts expire in January of 2019.
Rollins hopes that this is the case. Appearing at the ACE Comic Con in Chicago, Illinois earlier today (Fri. October 12, 2018), Rollins answered some questions from fans. One fan asked “The Architect” who he’d like to share the ring with that isn’t signed to WWE right now. Unsurprisingly, Rollins named Omega:
“I would like to face Kenny Omega,” said Rollins with playful authority. “I am the best wrestler in the world, and would like to prove that.”
What do you think about Rollins wanting to wrestle Omega?
