Stephanie says that she and Mick Foley have come up with a good solution for him, and with that, Foley comes out. Foley announces that Reigns vs. Rusev for the U.S. Title will take place at Clash Of Champions. Foley says he’s offended by wrestlers not taking him at his word anymore, so he needs to prove a point. He also gives Reigns a rematch against Kevin Owens tonight. Owens comes out to the stage to disapprove. Stephanie points out that it will be a non-title match. Foley adds that the match will take place inside a steel cage, right here in Memphis, Tennessee.

– Stephanie McMahon is yelling at Foley in the back about putting Owens in a cage match so soon before his Universal Title defense. Rusev approaches and also tells off Foley. Rusev leaves to walk out for his match, then Foley gets a phone call from Chris Jericho.

– Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens are in the back talking about how badly Mick Foley is treating them. Jericho says he’s going to make a list of the things Foley is doing wrong, and when Foley sees it he won’t like…. it.

Braun Strowman def. Sin Cara: Sin Cara gets in lots of offense early on and dodges Strowman’s attempt at a splash in the corner. Strowman eventually drops Sin Cara and starts dominating the match. Strowman throws Sin Cara outside and follows him out, but Sin Cara runs back in the ring and comes flying out with a suicide dive. They both get back in the ring and Sin Cara goes for a springboard moonsault, but Strowman catches him in mid-air and hits a running powerslam for the win.

Charlotte gets the tag and starts working on Bayley, but eventually Sasha gets the tag and the babyfaces hit a double suplex on Charlotte. Dana distracts Bayley, allowing Charlotte to hit a big boot on Bayley for the win.

– Seth Rollins is in the back cutting a promo on Stephanie McMahon about Triple H screwing him over. Stephanie denies knowing anything about her husband’s actions, and says maybe Triple H was embarassed by Seth Rollins losing too much. Stephanie says she thinks Owens is the right person to be the Universal Champion and that Owens has replaced Rollins as “the man.” Rollins says Stephanie has lost her touch since her brother Shane returned.

Bo Dallas def. Local jobber: Dallas cuts a “Believe in Bo” promo before the match. Bo’s opponent gets a “let’s go jobber” chant from the crowd, but Bo dominates the match with knees and clotheslines. Bo hits a spinning reverse DDT for the win in a short squash match.

Cesaro comes back with a running European uppercut and goes for the swing, but Sheamus reaches the ropes and throws Cesaro outside to the floor. Sheamus goes up to the top turnbuckle, but Cesaro hits a dropkick that sends Sheamus falling to the floor. Cesaro beats down Sheamus all around ringside, then back in the ring hits a springboard elbow. Cesaro goes for a superplex, but Sheamus gets out and hits the White Noise on Cesaro onto the corner of the ring apron. Sheamus puts Cesaro in the Texas Cloverleaf, but Cesaro escapes. Cesaro misses an uppercut in the corner and Sheamus rolls him up with his feet on the ropes. The referee breaks the hold and Sheamus argues with the ref. Sheamus misses a big boot and Cesaro comes back with a European uppercut and the Neutralizer for the win.

– Chris Jericho confronts Mick Foley backstage with his list. Foley tells Jericho he’s got to deal with the cruiserweights and leaves him. Jericho says since Foley won’t talk to him one-on-one, he’s going to have to tell the world what’s on “the list of Jericho.”

– Jericho comes out to the ring and says Foley has ruined RAW since he became GM. Jericho starts reading items from the list of things he hates about Foley until he gets interrupted by Enzo and Cass. They make fun of Jericho for saying he’s best friends with Kevin Owens. Enzo makes fun of Jericho’s scarf, and Jericho marks them down on the list. Jericho says their insults are outdated, then he gets interrupted again by The Shining Stars. The Stars come out talking about timeshares, then The New Day quickly interrupts them. The New Day says they have nothing better to do than come out and mess with Jericho. Xavier plugs an iPhone giveaway on his YouTube channel, then Gallows and Anderson interrupt. They say they’re taking The New Day’s tag titles on Sunday and trash the other teams. Jericho says he’s starting a new list, a list of stupid idiots and everyone in the ring is on it. Jericho starts walking up the ramp then is interrupted by Sami Zayn who beats down Jericho all over ringside. Zayn throws Jericho in the ring and everyone starts brawling.

Sami Zayn, The New Day, Enzo & Cass def. Chris Jericho, The Shining Stars, Gallows & Anderson: Michael Cole announces that this 10-man tag match was made by Mick Foley during the commercial break. Kofi hits a springboard splash off the back of Big E onto Primo in the corner early on for a two count. Anderson gets the tag and hits a spinebuster on Kofi for another two count. Kofi gets the hot tag to Big Cass and he clears the ring and apron. Cass hits a splash on Primo in the corner and a powerslam followed up by the Empire Elbow for a two count. Big E throws Kofi over the top rope down onto Gallows and Anderson on the floor at ringside, then Jericho throws Big E outside. Sami Zayn hits a tornado DDT on Jericho in the ring, then a big boot on Primo. Enzo and Cass hit the Bada Boom on Primo for the win.

– Mick Foley is in the ring to introduce us to the cruiserweights. He botches “it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog,” but he continues on. He introduces us to the first four cruiserweights to compete on RAW, up next.

Brian Kendrick def. Cedric Alexander vs. Gran Metalik vs. Richard Swann: Before the match, Foley announces that TJ Perkins will be defending his Cruiserweight Title against the winner of this match. After the opening bell rings, Kendrick rolls outside and watches the other three competitors go at it. Swann drops Metalik with a dropkick, then Kendrick gets back in the ring and drops Swann with an elbow to the face. Alexander starts working on Kendrick with chops to the chest, then Kendrick rolls outside again. Metalik hits a springboard elbow on Alexander, and Alexander comes back with a springboard clothesline off the top. Swann throws Kendrick outside again then puts Alexander in a dragon sleeper. Alexander gets out and starts trading chops to the chest with Swann. Alexander hits a hurricanrana that sends Swann outside, then hits a suicide dive over the top rope onto Kendrick on the floor at ringside. Metalik then hits a springboard suicide dive onto all three of his opponent on the floor. Kendrick mounts a comeback and lays out Swann with a kick to the face. Kendrick gets Alexander in an armbar and Metalik breaks it up with an elbow off the top. Malik comes off the top again, this time with a springboard dropkick on Swann. He follows up with a running shooting star press on Swann for a two count. Swann gets his feet up to block a moonsault then hits a Tiger bomb for a two count. Reigns beats Owens to the floor and Reigns wins.

– Immediately after the match, Rusev attacks Reigns but Reigns gets the better of him until Owens joins in. Owens kicks the cage door in Reigns’ face, then Rusev goes to work on Reigns. Rusev and Owens take Reigns in the ring and lock the cage door shut. The heels beat down Reigns and Rusev puts him in the Accolade. Seth Rollins comes out for the save and climbs the cage. He jumps off the top of the cage down onto Owens and Rusev in the ring and RAW goes off the air.

Seth Rollins’ School Issues Statement Regarding Student Passing Away

Seth Rollins’ The Black & The Brave wrestling academy in Moline, IL has issued a statement regarding the death of 20-year-old Jonah Snyder, a student who suffered a medical emergency at the school last week. Snyder has been taking part in a training session when he became ill. Trainers instructed him to sit down and rest, but his conditioned worsened. He ultimately went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

When Rollins was contacted by The Quad City Times for comments, he directed them to this Twitter statement from the school:

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our student, Jonah Snyder. Jonah attended the first night of our 7th Black and Brave class a week ago. After briefly participating in fitness drills with his classmates he abruptly fell ill. Emergency personnel were called and Jonah was rushed to the hospital. He passed away en route. No cause of death has been determined.

Jonah loved professional wrestling and in closing we wanted to leave you with his words. Below is an excerpt from the essay Jonah penned for his application to our school. All of our thoughts are with Jonah’s family and friends as they go through this incredibly difficult time.

“I live, breath, sleep, and eat wrestling. It’s in my blood. I want to learn it so I can travel the world putting a smile on people’s faces. I wanna give them hope or something to believe in.”

Student Dies After Suffering Medical Emergency At Seth Rollins’ Wrestling School

20-year-old Jonah Snyder was training at Black and Brave in  Moline, Illinois last when he started to feel ill. According to Rock Island County coroner Brian Gustafson, instructors told Snyder sit down. Snyder’s condition continued to worsen and trainers called 911. Paramedics arrived and Snyder went into cardiac arrest.

He was taken to the Genesis Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy conducted last Friday was inconclusive. Moline Police continue to investigate the situation.

CM Punk: Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman & Ryback Comment On His UFC Debut

ESPN has published an article looking at CM Punk’s upcoming UFC debut. The feature includes quotes from several pro wrestling personalities, including Seth Rollins, Ryback, Paul Heyman and more. Here are some highlights of what they said:

Seth Rollins: “He’s a guy who led the charge for a long time. He’s one of the first indie guys in a long, long time to really shake [up] the main roster in WWE and he paved the way for Daniel Bryan, for myself, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, and those guys…Say what you will about his attitude and his relationship with the company right now, but I wish him the best and I hope that he is successful — win, lose or draw.”

Ryback: “From a basic human being standpoint, he is showing courage doing something the majority of people on this planet will never do and that is step in a cage and fight in front of millions of people. I respect he wants to test himself and has the courage to do so. For that reason alone, while I don’t condone him saying the things he said about me, I want to him do well. Any man can beat another man on any given night, so I just hope he achieves what he is looking for in this and I will leave it at that.”

Paul Heyman: “Any conversation that I had with CM Punk dating back, even when he was still in WWE and was dreaming of getting involved in mixed martial arts, is that he was doing a switchover of careers from becoming a sports entertainer to becoming a full-time, career-oriented mixed martial artist.

Punk will face Mickey Gall (2-0) this Saturday night at UFC 203 from Cleveland, Ohio.

Both men were at Thursday’s UFC 203 media event from Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Here’s footage of their first official stare down:

A lot of people on social media have been commenting on Punk’s appearance. The weight cut has not been very forgiving to Punk and Gall looks a lot healthier at this weight than the former WWE Champion. The weigh-ins take place tomorrow from the Quicken Loans Arena.

Finn Balor Shoulder Rehab Update, Seth Rollins Takes Nasty Bump In London (Video)

– The 9/6 edition of SmackDown Live drew 2,454,000 viewers, down from last week’s 2,835,000 viewers.  This was the least-watched episode of SmackDown since the show went live and moved to Tuesday nights back in July.

– As noted yesterday, the main event of last night’s WWE live event from London saw Kevin Owens retain the Universal Championship against Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn in a triple threat match.  The following video has surfaced of a nasty bump Seth Rollins took during the match. Rollins overshot a dive to the outside and landed on the ringside guard rail. You can see the referee immediately go to check on Seth, who jumped up and showed that he was just fine. He probably could have sold the crazy bump a little more, but thankfully it was just a close call.

– Finn Balor has checked as he begins his long road to recovery from shoulder surgery. The former WWE Universal Champion will be out of action until early 2017.

What Happened After RAW With Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns (Video)

After last night’s WWE RAW from Kansas City went off the air, Chris Jericho and WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens teamed up to beat down Roman Reigns. Seth Rollins ran down to ringside to make the save for Reigns, but wound up getting a spear from Reigns. The show ended with Reigns celebrating to a mixed reaction from the crowd.

Rollins coming to the ring to help Roman Reigns getting beat down by two heels is certainly a babyface move. Rollins wrestled Jericho on RAW and challenges the heel champion Kevin Owens in the main event of Clash of Champions. All signs are pointing to a full Seth Rollins babyface turn, which we can’t complain about. Many people were pushing for Rollins to return from his knee injury as a fan favorite, especially with the great WWE 24 special focusing on his road to recovery. Finn Balor’s SummerSlam injury at the hands of Seth seem to have put Seth on course for a big run as the top babyface on RAW.

Here’s footage of Reigns spearing Rollins:

Seth Rollins: New Theme Music In The Works (Audio)

Seth Rollins could be getting new theme music soon courtesy of the band Downstait. Triple H rocked the WWE universe last week when he made a surprise return on RAW. Not only did he help Kevin Owens capture the Universal Championship, but he turned on former protégé Seth Rollins in the process. With Triple H backing Owens as the top heel on RAW, the seeds have been planted for a Seth Rollins babyface turn.

It remains to be seen if Rollins will continue using the Pedigree as his finisher, an homage to Triple H. With Rollins’ character pivoting to a new direction, new theme music could be another tool used to freshen up his act and present him in a different light. Check out what Downstait is working on, a demo version of a new version of Rollins theme:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BJ8j3vphnnk/

Correction: The band Downstait says they are not working on a “new” theme song for Rollins and the demo they released is simply a “cover” of Rollins current music. We apologize for the confusion.

Seth Rollins Confronts Stephanie McMahon After RAW (Video)

After Monday’s WWE RAW went off the air, Seth Rollins confronted commissioner Stephanie McMahon about what transpired during the Fatal 4 Way main event.

The conclusion of the match saw Triple H make a surprise return and help Rollins eliminate Roman Reigns, only to turn on Rollins and help Kevin Owens capture the WWE Universal Championship.

The Authority’s betrayed golden boy asked Stephanie, “What just happened? After everything we’ve been through.” Stephanie maintained her innocence, pointing in Rollins’ face and screaming that she was completely unaware of her husband’s plot.

One thing is clear: Finn Balor’s injury has led WWE to go in a completely different direction than what was originally planned for the next several months. The shocking conclusion of last night’s RAW presents a wide variety of new storyline opportunities. Kevin Owens was true to his heel character and cheated to win, but was clearly the fan favorite in the Fatal 4 Way and was met with “You deserve it” chants as he celebrated after the match. Seth Rollins could be on the verge of a babyface turn after being screwed out of the Universal Championship and Finn Balor getting taken out of action until early 2017.

Discussion: How would you book Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins in the coming months? Was Stephanie McMahon really in the dark about what Triple H had planned, or will Kevin Owens be the new face of a reformed Authority?

Seth Rollins Acknowledges Claims That He’s Dangerous, Maryse Taunting Daniel Bryan, More

WWE.com has published a video looking the vintage RAW opening from 1995 which featured Superstars wrestling on the roof of WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.

– Seth Rollins is embracing the fact that he put Finn Balor out of action for 6 months. Last week, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart spoke out once again about Rollins injuring his opponents, claiming somebody could get killed if he doesn’t protect his opponents better.

Ahead of tomorrow night’s Fatal 4 Way match to crown a new Universal Champion, Rollins tweeted:

– Maryse continues to taunt SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan on social media. In a reference to The Miz asking Bryan why he doesn’t leave WWE and wrestle in a bingo hall if he wants to get back in the ring so badly, Maryse tweeted:

Taz Says Seth Rollins Isn’t Reckless, Calls Him The Best Worker Of His Generation

Taz feels that Finn Balor’s injury at WWE SummeSlam shouldn’t be entirely blamed on Seth Rollins. On The Taz Show on CBS Radio earlier this week, the former ECW Heavyweight Champion explained why he feels Rollins is not as reckless as Bret Hart says he is.

Taz explained that wrestlers don’t get pushed by WWE if they’re dangerous or “douchebags” in the ring. He feels that Rollins is one of the best workers in the current era of wrestling, and that if Balor didn’t feel comfortable with the move it wouldn’t have taken place. Taz says that if a performer isn’t comfortable taking a move, it isn’t happening on TV.

“You don’t become as successful as Seth Rollins by being a douchebag,” Taz said of Rollins position in WWE. “Seth Rollins is not going to do something to someone that they’re not comfortable with.”

He explained that Vince is a “huge stickler” for safety, but also wants a very physical style of performance. Taz says this is a fine line that WWE stars learn to walk.

Taz also brought up Rollins breaking John Cena’s nose last year, a move that also drew criticism from Bret Hart. Taz theorized that Cena very likely asked Rollins to “bring it” and be physical during their match to make it look good. Taz stressed that you “have to be physically tough” to be in the wrestling business.

Balor suffered a shoulder injury at SummerSlam 2016 after being powerbombed into the fan barricade by Rollins.

Bret Hart: Seth Rollins Needs To Work Safer Before Someone Gets Killed

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart is speaking out once again about Seth Rollins being reckless in the ring.

Over the past year, Rollins has injured some of the top stars in the business. John Cena suffered a badly broken nose last summer when Seth Rollins kneed him in the face on Monday Night RAW. Days later at Night of Champions, Rollins ended Sting’s career by powerbombing him into the turnbuckles. Finn Balor will be out of action until 2017 after taking a powerbomb from Rollins outside the ring. Bret Hart says he has great respect for Seth, but he needs to improve his technique immediately before someone gets killed.

In a statement issued to WrestleZone’s Nick Hausman, Hart gave his thoughts on Seth Rollins injuring Finn Balor at SummerSlam.

“I take no great pleasure in saying ‘I told you so,’ but if you’re a professional wrestler and you keep hurting opponents and or yourself, clearly you’re doing it wrong. I wrestled a very realistic and physical style and not once in 23 yrs did I ever hurt one opponent ever.

Seth Rollins needs to improve his technique and become the safest wrestler in the business. I have great respect for Seth. I believe he’ll improve and hopefully stop hurting the talent before someone gets killed.

Wrestlers have to trust one another. If a wrestler holds the life of another wrestler in his hands for the sake of his family, wife or children you plain and simply cannot drop it! I saw this coming, if anything WWE producers are negligent for not speaking up about it to him already, instead they’re probably gushing with joy, slapping him on the back telling him “great job!”

Bill Goldberg was similar. When I think of Samoa Joe nearly killing Tyson Kidd, then see him continuing to use that deadly finish of his, I just shake my head. It’s not real, it’s only supposed to look real, wrestlers are not crash test dummies!”

Seth Rollins is arguably one of the most talented performers in the business, but me might want to think about the high-risk moves he performs, especially those which risk the safety and well being of his opponents.

Discussion: Is Seth Rollins an unsafe worker, or has this simply been a series of “bad luck” incidents?

The Demon King Arrives On RAW, Rollins Reacts Backstage (Videos)

Seth Rollins’ all-day search for Finn Balor’s Demon King was a success. That is, if getting beat up on national television can be considered a success.

Just days before they go to war to crown WWE’s first-ever Universal Champion at SummerSlam, Rollins and Balor clashed in the ring on RAW, with the WWE Universe getting its first glimpse of Balor’s darker side. Many (including us) expected WWE to hold off until SummerSlam before the Demon King’s first main-roster appearance.

  • Discussion: Should WWE have waited until SummerSlam for the Demon King’s debut?

Here’s what transpired when Rollins finally got his wish and went face to face with his SummerSlam opponent:

After RAW went off the air, Rollins reacted to the eerie encounter and admitted he might have to change his strategy if he wants to be the first Universal Champion.

Seth Rollins Comments On Roman Reigns’ Suspension, Wrestler’s Court

Seth Rollins appeared on the Bailey and Southside morning radio show (Atlanta’s Rock 100.5) and commented on Roman Reigns’ recent suspension.  When asked if Reigns had to endure “wrestler’s court” he said he’s never experienced a trial and doesn’t doesn’t think the tradition is practiced anymore. Back when wrestlers were “put on trial” for backstage infractions, Rollins said the sentences “could be a little harsh” but that was before WWE went public and the days of social media.

Regarding reports that Roman Reigns was made to apologize to the WWE locker room for violating the Wellness Policy, Rollins disputed that report and said it was blown out of proportion.

“No no no, that’s misunderstood,” he said. “Roman addressed the locker room, just as a locker room leader, he was a guy who wanted to talk about the situation. That was not a Wrestler’s Court situation at all. The Wrestler’s Court is more of a lighthearted affair, this was strictly a professional thing between him and the company.”
