WWE Calling In Top Names To Return On Monday’s Raw

Don’t be surprised to see a couple returning wrestlers on Monday’s episode of Raw, which is currently being re-written after Seth Rollins got injured in Dublin. Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Live that with Randy Orton out with a shoulder injury, and Seth Rollins out with a torn ACL, WWE feels they have issues with talent depth in the championship picture right now.

Brock Lesnar and John Cena were previously scheduled to return in December, but WWE is reportedly trying to call them in for Monday’s show as a solution to their talent depth problem. The way Lesnar’s contract is set up, WWE will likely have to negotiate an extra appearance fee for the former UFC champ since he’s only obligated to work certain dates. Meanwhile, Cena is reportedly working on a TV show right now and his filming schedule may not allow him to appear at Raw.

Rollins was originally planned to be in the title picture through WrestleMania, but WWE has already confirmed they will hold a tournament at Survivor Series to crown a new champion.

Roman Reigns Was Booked To Win The WWE Title At Survivor Series Before Seth Rollins’ Injury

Roman Reigns was booked to defeat Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series prior to Rollins’ injury this week, according to a source on WWE’s creative team.

While we are still more than 10 days away from the event and plans still could have changed, Rollins was going to drop the title to Reigns this month. A rematch was already planned for December’s TLC pay-per-view and Rollins was going to be in the WWE Championship picture through WrestleMania 32. Obviously, all those plans are out the window now that Rollins will require extensive knee surgery that will keep him out of action until mid-2016.

Rollins is currently scheduled to fly home today from the UK and will be undergoing surgery in the next few days.

Stay tuned to SEScoops.com this weekend, as we will keep you posted as additional information related to this story becomes available.

Seth Rollins Out 6-9 Months, Tournament To Crown New WWE Champion At Survivor Series

Seth Rollins will be forced to surrender the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, according to WWE. Rollins tore his right ACL, MCL and medial meniscus at Wednesday night’s live event from Dublin, Ireland during his main event match against Kane. Rollins did a top rope sunset flip and landed badly on his knee.

As a result, WWE has announced that a 1-night tournament will be held at Survivor Series (11/22, Atlanta) to crown a new champion.

WWE says he will be out of action for six to nine months, which would kept him on the sidelines for WrestleMania 32 in April.

This blows.

Seth Rollins Reportedly Injured In Dublin (Photos/Video)

WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins appeared to injure his leg or knee in Dublin, Ireland on the opening night of WWE’s European tour . During his ‘No Holds Barred’ match against Kane, Rollins landed awkwardly after trying to set up a somersault flip into a powerbomb.

He had trouble walking and had to be helped to the back by his trainers. Fans in attendance were buzzing on social media about the situation.

Let’s hope it’s nothing serious and the Architect gets back to business without skipping a beat.

RVD Takes Credit For Extending The Life Of Seth Rollins’ Curb Stomp

Rob Van Dam did a chat on Periscope last week and said he took Seth Rollins’ since-retired Curb Stomp finisher better than anyone else.

RVD referenced a RAW match from summer 2014 where Rollins defeated him with the move. Rollins later told RVD that WWE was on the verge of banning the move, but RVD took it so well they were able to convince WWE officials to keep it around longer.

WWE ended up pulling the move this past spring after WrestleMania 31 when Rollins won the WWE World Heavyweight Title. It was reported by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the move was said to be “on hold” until WWE’s concussion lawsuits are gone or no longer a threat.

Rollins told fans at a Q&A in May that he was no longer using the move and that the Pedigree would be his main finisher going forward.

Jim Ross Criticizes WWE’s Use Of Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler

WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross took to his blog at jrsbarbq.com to express his frustration over how WWE is handling Seth Rollins’ character on TV. He’s also scratching his head over why Dolph Ziggler isn’t used in a better position on WWE television. Here are some highlights:

On WWE’s booking of Seth Rollins:

“The booking of WWE Champion Seth Rollins to rarely win on TV and to be an enhanced chickensh!t heel is a head scratcher. I thoroughly understand the concept of the vulnerable antagonist but for one’s champion to rarely win on TV is questionable. The booking of Rollins needs addressing IMO.”

On John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler:

“Thought Cena and Ziggler stole the show but unfortunately the show stealer came early. Great opportunity for WWE to advance Ziggler to the US Title with Cena preparing to leave WWE for a short sabbatical. No idea why Ziggler isn’t used more prominently. He’s a helluva talent.”

On the booking of WWE diva Charlotte:

“Seemed as if WWE anointed Charlotte as their top female when she won the title but since then she’s not been featured. What am I missing here? I do like the way that the females have more people talking positively about them than in quite some time.”

Seth Rollins Appearing On SportsCenter, Heath Slater Raw Fallout, Next Week’s Raw

– Heath Slater fans took part in a “Hit Slater’s Music” campaign on social networks this week to try and get Slater a United States Title shot on Raw. Slater did’t get the match, but he is featured in the above Raw Fallout video to discuss Cena’s U.S. title.

Coachman had previously teased that an announcement from WWE & ESPN would be coming within 48 hours. Rollins’ appearance will likely be to help make the announcement with Coachman. WrestleMania 32 travel packages go on sale tomorrow, and the announcement reportedly has to do with that.

– Next week’s Raw is the last show before Hell In A Cell, and WWE is promoting some big names for it on Twitter. Stone Cold Steve Austin will be in the house to interview Brock Lesnar after the show, but WWE is not promoting him for the Raw broadcast as of yet. WWE is advertising both Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels for Raw, as they are likely to take part in a panel discussing the Hell In A Cell main event.

Seth Rollins Talks About WWE Fans Stalking Him, His Ethnicity

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins recently spoke with the Chicago Tribune to promote tonight’s RAW from the Allstate Arena. Among the topics discussed are overzealous WWE fans who will do whatever it takes to meet him, including stalking him at 4am while he’s traveling. Rollins said,

“I’m not mean to fans because I’m a bad guy. I’m mean to them because they’re rude. If they stalk me at the airport at 4 in the morning, don’t expect to get a picture. That’s not OK. They can’t hang outside my hotel or come to the gym and stare at me for a half hour and expect me to be like “Cool. Awesome.”

My favorite thing is to just run into fans coincidentally. Today the National Car Rental guy recognized me and got so excited and wanted to take a picture. Awesome. It was a fan that happened to run into me. To me, there’s a distinct difference. Don’t get me wrong — our fanbase is super passionate and I love them, but there’s a difference between stalking me at the airport and just happening to see me.”

He also revealed that he is not Hispanic, despite the fact that his last name is Lopez. Rollins is actually half Armenian and half German/Irish and the Lopez name comes from his mother’s first husband, who is Mexican.

Seth Rollins Says Sting’s Injury Was A “Freak Accident” & He Feels Terrible

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was a guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this week and spoke candidly about Sting getting injured at Night of Champions.

Sting took a corner powerbomb and got rocked so badly the match was temporarily stopped and they wound up ‘going home’ sooner than planned. Since then, many have been questioning whether the 56-year old icon should be wrestling hard hitting main event matches against guys like Rollins, who is under 30.

Here’s what Rollins said about it:

“It was an amazing experience for me to get to step into the ring with somebody I dressed up [as for] Halloween. I mean, I was Sting two years in a row when I was like 13, 14, so it was pretty rad to be in there with a legend like that.”

“Ironically enough, Sting got a ‘stinger’. It happens to all of us, but it was just bad timing in his situation.” Rollins added, “we got through it, and he’s a professional.”

“I mean nothing against Sting – he’s in phenomenal condition, but he’s also a 56-year-old man.” Rollins continued, “I have taken the buckle bomb myself many times. It’s just one of those things. It’s a freak accident.”

“I feel terrible. I was definitely concerned about his health, still am, but after tests and everything, he seems to be okay, so it’s all good.” Rollins also said, “he’s going to make a good recovery”.

Jim Ross Defends WWE’s Booking Of Seth Rollins

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:

WWE’s Booking of Seth Rollins:

“Funny how some people confuse Seth Rollins role of a chickens!t heel to being ‘booked weak.’ It’s obvious to me that Rollins is following a HBK path to some degree meaning that he will be a helluva fan favorite in time. Let’s not rush it.”

Brock Lesnar’s Appearance on RAW:

“Thought Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman were somewhat underutilized Monday night in a subdued, or so it seemed, Boston.  Why can’t a disrespectful heel wanting to make a name for himself interrupting a Heyman promo and then Lesnar then takes matters into his own hands and woodsheds some poor bastard to provide the fans some hint of physicality? The Taker vs. Brock HIAC match is tepid at best since their Summer Slam match which had a unique finish that isn’t talked about enough IMO.”

The New Day:

“Big fan of the New Day trio and hope that they can become the heels WWE seemingly desires but it won’t be easy but it’s also not impossible. It’s going to take work and being smart especially on how the talents themselves execute in the ring.”
