WWE is hyping the fact that John Cena will react on tonight’s WWE RAW to losing his WWE United States Championship to Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam on Sunday night.
Additionally, Cena commented on Twitter about his loss to Rollins and addressed the fact that SummerSlam host Jon Stewart turned on him, which led to him losing the match — and his title — to the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Cena tweeted the following:
Spent the night removing my foot from my mouth, congrats @WWERollins undeniable respect no matter how I feel. #jonstewart we may need 2 talk
WWE SummerSlam guest host Jon Stewart showed his true colors on Sunday night, attacking John Cena with a steel chair and allowing Seth Rollins to get the victory and capture Cena’s coveted United States championship. Check out this video we shot from the event:
– The New Day won the Fatal Four-Way WWE Tag-Team Championship match at WWE SummerSlam on Sunday night, defeating The Prime Time Players, The Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores to become the new WWE Tag-Team Champions.
– “Arrow” actor Stephen Amell won his in-ring WWE debut at SummerSlam, defeating King Barrett and Stardust with his tag-team partner, Neville. The finish of the match saw Neville hit the Red Arrow for the pinfall victory. Amell actually did a pretty good job of executing some cool moves during the match.
– Seth Rollins debuted new, all-white ring gear in his “Title vs. Title — Winner Take All” match against John Cena at SummerSlam. Rollins would go on to win the match with help from Jon Stewart, who hit Cena with a chair and set up the chair for Rollins to Pedigree Cena on, making himself the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the new WWE United States Champion. Below is a photo of Rollins’ new ring gear.
Several WWE fans have been waiting outside the WWE hotel in New York City this weekend, so when WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and girlfriend, NXT Diva Zahra Schreiber wanted to get some food on Saturday night, the New York Police department gave them a lift to a nearby restaurant in an unmarked cop car.
Celebrity gossip website TMZ noted that police have set up a barricade outside of the hotel for safety purposes.
You can check out video footage of the police helping out Rollins on Saturday night at TMZ.com.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins spoke to Brian Fritz of Between The Ropes at Thursday night’s WWE 2K16 party in New York City. Here are some highlights:
– Rollins has played WWE 2K16 already and says it continues to improve.
– He’s learning a lot as champion and has been enjoying the run, he calls it incredible. He says there’s a lot of pressure every night to “be the man” but he’s enjoying it. Rollins says he thrives under pressure and likes being in that position every night. He says he loses a little bit of his edge when he doesn’t have any pressure and says he performs better when he has something to prove.
– Regarding being the first guy from The Shield to be champion, he always knew it would be him but he says all three of The Shield members are breakout singles stars. He just happened to be the guy to get the title first. He says they will probably be flip-flopping the title back and forth for years to come.
– Rollins has surprised himself by getting better with promos. He didn’t have opportunities for 15 minute monologues in NXT and other promotions but with more practice and patience, and learning, he feels like he’s gotten pretty good at it.
– He says the SummerSlam match with John Cena will be insane as far as the crowd in the Barclays Center goes.
– When he broke Cena’s nose on RAW a few wees back, Rollins says he, Cena and the referee all instantly knew it was broken. His first thought was “oh s–t” because you could feel and hear it. He’s been in the ring for some wild injuries before but the Cena nose injury was as gruesome as they come.
– He’s extremely proud of what’s going on with NXT and says those Superstars are his boys, the guys he’s ran with for years. He gives props to the NXT Divas too, saying they’re changing the game for women in sports. He feels like a leader when it comes to NXT and says they’re changing the game.
Triple H, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Sasha Banks and Corey Graves held a fan panel at the practice court of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday morning to promote Saturday night’s NXT Takeover: Brooklyn event.
Below are some photos and highlights from Stephanie McMahon, Triple H and others.
WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently spoke to Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard blog about this Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker: “A brawl is the only way to go for these two. What a great story it would be if both guys try to make their opponent submit. Think of what it would mean for a victory if both men were working for a submission–if the Undertaker continued to go for his gogoplata chokehold, and Lesnar was trying to get the kimura, which is a double wrist lock. Getting your opponent to tap out is the most macho of all the ways to win, and I can see that story woven in there by the announcers.”
On Divas triple threat match: “The Divas feuds are lacking structure and a reason to care. The emotional investment is not there yet in this rivalry. Who goes over with nine of them fighting? And how much time do they have? They need two good finishes in this match, and then you need to have Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Paige win. But I don’t know where they’re going with this–they haven’t established any real rivalries yet. They’re on the roster, getting some exposure, but it’s inevitable that some of them are going to have to take out some of their repertoire in a match with nine people.”
On Seth Rollins being a great heel: “But I sincerely hope there are no plans, somewhere down the road, to turn Rollins babyface. He’s still learning how to be a great heel, and it’s doing a damn good job with it. He’s a student of the game, works hard, and every week he adds another nuance of being a heel. He’s a major block in the foundation, so Cena beating him at SummerSlam is not the right thing to do. Rollins needs to retain the title, even if it’s with the help of plenty of outside interference.”
WWE performer Paul Heyman recently spoke with CBS Sports to promote this Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. During the interview, Heyman was asked the secret to maintaining his friendship with Brock Lesnar.
“I’ve never let him down,” Heyman said. “I always tell Brock Lesnar the truth. I don’t appease Brock Lesnar. I don’t placate Brock Lesnar. When Brock Lesnar asks me for an opinion, I give to him an honest opinion that I’m willing to back up with facts, with theory. It’s never just what he wants to hear, or what benefits me the most. And I get the same from him, I assure you.”
Heyman also sang the praises of current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, noting that he has “risen to the top faster than anyone else that has been called up so far from NXT.”
“I think Seth Rollins is a perennial champion for the next decade,” said Heyman. “I think in the same way that John Cena and Randy Orton are multi, multi-time champions from 2005 on, I think that is now Seth Rollins’ position. I think Seth Rollins is in the title picture for the next decade. He has established himself as a main event performer. He has delivered on every occasion that he has had the opportunity to perform. And he has risen to the top faster than anyone else that has been called up so far from NXT. So I think Seth Rollins is just at the very beginning of his career as a main eventer.”
Heyman continued, “I mean, Seth Rollins was involved in the main event of this year’s WrestleMania, but he wasn’t advertised as a main event at this year’s WrestleMania. We have yet to see Seth Rollins have the opportunity to perform in a WrestleMania main event. I don’t think you’ve even seen Seth Rollins scratch the surface of what he’s capable of doing.”
With Paul Heyman in his corner, Brock Lesnar goes one-on-one with The Undertaker in “the rematch too big for WrestleMania,” this Sunday, August 23, 2015, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York at WWE SummerSlam, live on pay-per-view and on the WWE Network.
– As of this past Sunday, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns have worked the most matches so far in 2015 with each former Shield member having worked 136 matches each so far this year. Coming in at fourth is King Barrett with 127 and Cesaro at fifth with 122. Reigns has won 119 matches this year, while Ambrose has 88 wins. John Cena has won 93 of 99 matches so far in 2015.
– In the following video, a WWE 2K16 video game developer shows off the upgraded face import tool used in the “Create-A-Superstar” mode.
Ring of Honor’s reigning World and Television champion Jay Lethal spoke to Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard blog to promote this weekend’s ROH shows from the old ECW Arena in Philaelphia on Friday night and from MCU Field in Brooklyn on Saturday night for Field of Honor.
Since ROH will be in Brooklyn for Field of Honor and WWE will also be in town for SummerSlam weekend, Lethal proposes an inter-promotional champion vs. champion match against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
“I would love to do that,” said Lethal. “How cool would it be if there was a champion versus champion match? There is no way I would turn that down. Whether or not both companies could get this on the same platform is a shot in the dark, but we’d have a tremendous match. I’ve never got to wrestle Rollins before, either, even though he’s a former Ring of Honor world champion, so he’s never experienced the ‘Lethal Injection.’”
ROH will be going head-to-head with NXT on Saturday night, which hosts Takeover: Brooklyn from the Barclays Center. Lethal stated that ROH booked their show in Brooklyn before NXT, but it’s still an honor to have them as competition. He also pointed out that a good portion of the talent appearing at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn first cut their teeth inside an ROH ring.
“The proof is the fact that a couple NXT wrestlers are former Ring of Honor guys,” said Lethal. “Wouldn’t you just want to go straight to the source and watch the company that they’re pulling from? A lot of wrestling companies are trying to imitate what Ring of Honor does, so wouldn’t you rather see the best wrestling in the world for yourself instead of an imitation?”
There’s much more to the interview, including his time in TNA, dating AJ Lee and Hulk Hogan’s racist comments.
WWE has announced a segment for tonight’s WWE SummerSlam “go-home” edition of RAW in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In what will be the final show before this year’s big SummerSlam event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York this Sunday night, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and WWE United States Champion John Cena will have a face-off ahead of their title vs. title match this weekend.
WWE posted the following teaser for tonight’s Rollins-Cena confrontation:
“Less than one week before their cataclysmic encounter at SummerSlam, both Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker will be live on Raw. Will these two warriors collide before their anticipated rematch? Also tonight, U.S. Champion John Cena and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins meet face to face!”
Paul Heyman recently took part in a Q&A with WTOP out of Washington, D.C. to promote Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Below are some of the highlights.
On what Brock Lesnar is doing to get ready for SummerSlam: “The same thing he did to get ready for Wrestlemania 30. He’s training, he’s hunting, he’s eating right, he’s getting ready to just walk in the ring and destroy The Undertaker.”
On if Brock has to up his game to beat Undertaker again: “I think The Undertaker is the one who needs to up his game. I don’t understand why anybody doesn’t understand the correlation here. I don’t think The Undertaker wanted to lose at Wrestlemania 30 either, but he had no choice in the matter. He got his ass kicked by Brock Lesnar, he got beaten by Brock Lesnar, he got beat up by Brock Lesnar, he got victimized by Brock Lesnar, and he got conquered by Brock Lesnar. And the very same thing is going to happen next Sunday at SummerSlam.”
On The Undertaker’s time being up: “I didn’t say Undertaker’s time is up. That’s putting words in my mouth. I think if The Undertaker picked a fight with anybody right now, The Undertaker would easily win. I don’t see anybody being able to stand up to The Undertaker. There’s not a man alive right now that can step into the ring with The Undertaker who’s this driven, this focused and now has something to make up for since he lost at Wrestlemania 30. The problem is, The Undertaker isn’t fighting a man, he’s fighting a beast. He’s fighting a conqueror. He’s fighting a once-in-a-lifetime athlete named Brock Lesnar. So it’s no slight to The Undertaker that he’s going to get his ass kicked by Brock Lesnar. Any human being who steps in the ring with Brock Lesnar is going to get his ass kicked. It’s not even a fair fight!”
On why fans should look forward to John Cena vs. Seth Rollins at SummerSlam as well: “It’s a double title match. It’s a pretty interesting situation where one man is going to walk out with the undisputed WWE Heavyweight Championship of the World and the U.S. Championship, so it’s certainly not a match with just typical stakes on the line. It’s a match with both titles on the line, which I think is a unique situation with two of the top stars of not only the past year, but the past decade.”
– “Arrow” actor Stephen Amell spent some time in the ring with WWE performers on Thursday to train for his upcoming match at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Below is a photo of Arrow in the ring:
WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella spoke with FOX Sports recently and spoke about John Cena badly breaking his nose during his match with Seth Rollins on WWE RAW.
“I was so scared,” said Bella. “When you see someone’s nose on the side of their face, just gushing blood, and then when you love the guy and you care about him; I was just like, what’s going on, why is he not coming back?”
Bella continued, “But you know John’s Superman. So he finished the match. But I was still scared and I stayed with him in the hospital that night. He had emergency surgery. I was his nurse all week. But he’s doing amazing. He’s 100 percent now. And I just honestly have never seen anyone in my life heel like John. He heels so fast and he’s so strong but that was pretty scary.”
WWEShop.com has added new merchandise for United States Champion John Cena that appears to spoil the outcome of his upcoming WWE Championship match against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.
The new orange and green apparel features “Never Give Up” and a cartoon of Cena on the front, with “You Can’t See Me” and “15x” on the back. The “15x” is of course in reference to Cena’s 15 world title reigns.
WWE launching a whole new line of “15x Authentic Merchandise” for Cena just a week before next weekend’s PPV indicates that Cena will not be securing his record-tying 16th title reign at Summerslam.
Comment below and tell us who you think will be walking out of SummerSlam as WWE World Heavyweight champion – John Cena, Seth Rollins, or Mr. Money in the Bank, Sheamus.
WWE.com announced that United States Champion John Cena has been medically cleared to wrestle after undergoing surgery two weeks ago to correct a severely broken nose at the hands of WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins.
Cena appeared on Tough Enough and said Triple H giving John Cena a 50/50 chance that he’d be at SummerSlam shows that Triple H isn’t a good odds-maker. Cena referred to Daniel Bryan’s “Yes!” chant in response to Chris Jericho asking if he’d be ready next Sunday.
John Cena and Seth Rollins will square off at SummerSlam in a Champion vs. Champion winner-takes-all match.
– After missing yesterday’s WWE live event from Brisbane, Australia, Mr. Money in the Bank Sheamus also missed today’s live event from Melbourne. Sheamus, who was advertised for both shows, was once again replaced by King Barrett in a match against Randy Orton. There’s still no word yet on why Sheamus has missed the shows.
– WWE Champion Seth Rollins hosted a cross fit event in Melbourne, Australia today:
– A lot of controversy has spread regarding UFC President Dana White’s “FAKE” comments when referring to a legion of pro wrestling fans on social media, a campaign that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was a major part of, in terms of back-and-forth comments between himself and White.
Earlier this week, current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, current FOX Sports analyst and lifelong pro wrestling fan (need proof — watch UFC champ Daniel Cormier completely mark out when watching Rollins win the WWE title at WrestleMania earlier this year by clicking here for possibly the funniest crowd reaction from a celebrity in WWE event history) appeared on the “Steve Austin Show – Unleashed!” podcast, and the two shared their in-depth feelings about the backlash behind UFC President Dana White’s “FAKE” comments.
Surprisingly enough, Austin and Cormier did not side with who you think they would side with. In fact, to make things even crazier, forget who they each sided with, and listen to why they each backed who they did by CLICKING HERE.
– WWE is planning on having the feud between John Cena and Seth Rollins run as a long-term program, as Cena vs. Rollins is booked as the advertised main event for most of the key WWE live events through September.
The company will continue to market “anti-Cena” t-shirts for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, one of which Rollins debuted this past Monday night on RAW in San Jose California. Two of the shirt ideas read, “Never Shut Up” instead of “Never Give Up,” and “You Can’t See Knee” instead of “You Can’t See Me.”
Speaking of the knee, which Rollins landed to Cena’s face over a week ago, resulting in Cena needing reconstructive surgery to repair a badly broken nose, the fact that it happened is part of the reason WWE is running with Cena-Rollins long-term.
Cena vs. Rollins in a “Title vs. Title — Winner Take All” match is scheduled for this year’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view, which will be a four-hour event live on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
– As previously noted, the next episode of “Unfiltered with Renee Young” on the WWE Network will air tonight and will be a 30-minute interview with WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella.
A preview for the interview is shown above, it appears that even Renee herself wasn’t aware that the episode was going to air for 30-minutes after she tweeted at the beginning of the month:
– The WWE website has a poll asking if John Cena should accept Seth Rollins’ “Winner Takes All” match at SummerSlam later this month.
The two options available are “Yes! A broken nose can’t stop the champ!” or “No, Cena should forfeit his U.S. Title.” You can cast your vote at this link.
– On the topic of John Cena, the WWE have released a video to hype up his appearance on Tough Enough next Tuesday on the USA Network. Check it out above.
John Cena hasn’t been seen on WWE Television since Seth Rollins broke his nose during the main event on RAW which led to Rollins releasing a t-shirt mocking the situation.
WWE announced during Tuesday’s edition of WWE Tough Enough on the USA Network that current WWE United States Champion John Cena will be appearing on next week’s edition of Tough Enough.
Cena has not appeared on WWE television since breaking his nose in a match against Seth Rollins on last week’s edition of RAW.
While Cena has been removed from a number of WWE live events, based on last night’s RAW, it appears he will be facing WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a “title versus title — winner take all” match at WWE SummerSlam.
WWE 2K16 is due for release in October and IGN have gotten their hands on some exclusive information in regards to what the next instalment in the franchise will bring us.
They spoke in particular about the roster which will feature over 120 unique playable characters and when they asked what “unique” meant, they liked the answer they were given.
IGN were told that what it means is that “in most cases” it’s a different person and not several versions of a particular character as we’ve seen in the past.
For example, if a performer has two different gimmicks, they would be counted as separate unique characters but same wrestlers from different eras wouldn’t count towards the 120 character list.
Once again, purely for an example (as presented by IGN) Dude Love, Cactus Jack and Mankind would be three unique characters whereas Triple H from the 90s and from today would be just one character.
Of course those characters and or eras haven’t yet been confirmed but IGN were speaking hypothetically with regards to how characters and their gimmicks will be portrayed.

On this Monday’s edition of WWE RAW, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins challenged WWE United States Champion John Cena to a high-stakes match.
WWE RAW kicked off with Seth Rollins bragging about breaking John Cena’s nose last week. He shows footage of several replays of the knee that broke his nose. Rollins then challenged Cena to a match, title vs. title, winner take all, at the four-hour SummerSlam event.
WWE SummerSlam takes place on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
During the main event of RAW last week, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins broke WWE United States Champion John Cena’s nose.
John Cena managed to complete the match and won, retaining his United States title but the break was so bad, it forced Cena to pull out of various live events.
Over on WWEShop.com a brand new Seth Rollins “U Can’t C Knee” T-Shirt has been launched following the same design of T-shirts released for John Cena. Check it out below:
You can purchase the new t-shirt for $24.99 by clicking on this link.
– WWE’s Canyon Ceman, William Regal and Seth Rollins were at the PWG event in Reseda, California to scout talent last week. The three were said to be particularly impressed with AAA star Angelico, who is currently under a multi-year agreement with Lucha Underground, as long as they continue running shows, and also has a deal with the AAA promotion in Mexico.
– WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella appeared on E! News to discuss her future with John Cena.
“Marriage and kids,” Nikki said. “I think I could sacrifice kids for him but I do want that ring one day, I want to be Mrs. Cena. Our life has become one and we make decisions together but I think I want that bling to walk around with.”
WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan appeared on a recent episode of the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast and spoke about his preference for separate RAW and SmackDown rosters, as well as his original plans for his WWE Intercontinental Championship run. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On his original plans for his I-C title run: “One of the things I wanted to do when I came back [from injury], was do something with the Intercontinental Championship. And my big spiel, my big pitch for this thing, like, I want to be the Intercontinental Champion and I only want to be on Smackdown. I don’t want to be on RAW. I want to be on Smackdown because one of my things was I would never have gotten this opportunity if there wasn’t split brands, if there wasn’t two [world] titles. If there was just the one main title, [WWE] would never, ever given me the opportunity.”
On doing another brand split in WWE: “I knew coming back from my neck surgery that I was not going to be the top good guy, as far as the booking is concerned. I’m not talking about popularity, as far as placement of people. And one of the things that really can hurt you is that if people see you as that and people want you to be that and you’re not that, is that they can take it out on other people. Right? Like, taking it out on somebody like Roman [Reigns] when [WWE] are trying to push him and that sort of thing.” Bryan added, “if you put [Roman Reigns] and I on different shows, then it’s better for him and it’s better for me.”
“Right now, [WWE] are not going to put Cesaro in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship program with Seth Rollins. I mean, [WWE] might, but I don’t think [WWE] will though. [WWE] would do that with [Cesaro] and me and the Intercontinental Championship and it might not be the main event of pay per views, but if it carries Smackdown, if that’s the main story on Smackdown, it can show everybody, like, I think WWE doesn’t think people are capable of some of this kind of stuff. I don’t think [WWE] thought I was capable of carrying that kind of stuff until [WWE] gave me the opportunity and it turns out I was. And until you give them the opportunities, give somebody like Cesaro an opportunity to do that and show that he can do it, you know, like, that was part of my thing too. People like Cesaro, people like Cody Rhodes, you know, people like Ryback. Give them these opportunities to carry a show like they carry a program and it would just be good for everybody, and, not only that, good for morale, I was hoping. Like, I have all these greater things. I want everyone to be happy at work. I want us all to enjoy it and be like, ‘hey, if I work hard and if I’m good and if I get good crowd reactions, I am going to get further’.”
