The ‘Real’ Reason Shane McMahon’s AEW Appearance Never Happened

Shane McMahon was ghosted by Tony Khan after their viral meeting in the Summer of 2024 because the son of the former WWE chairman wanted control of AEW.

Photos of McMahon meeting with the AEW President at an airport became viral last year amid rumors of him joining the company. Many at the time believed Shane might appear on AEW TV soon but nothing came out of it.

Former WWE broadcaster Jonathan Coachman made the topic hot again recently after claiming some interesting things about the meeting on his podcast. Per Coach, Shane had demanded equity in the company and he wanted to run the entire show. Khan, not willing to give in to his demands, then ghosted McMahon.

Fightful Select has since provided an update on these claims confirming that Tony Khan did not follow up on his airport meeting with Shane McMahon. They also confirmed that McMahon did want to ‘run things’, believing that his insight and ability to run the show was ‘valuable’

Though despite the tall demands, Shane did not have familiarity with the AEW product or their business model and Khan almost thought that McMahon was joking when he mentioned the possibility of running things.  Sources close to the high-flying star noted that Shane did not take the lack of further communication from the AEW owner personally.

As is always the case in wrestling, the possibility of Shane McMahon making a cameo appearance down the line has not been ruled out, but there never seems to have been an extensive plan for him to work in AEW.

Shane McMahon Not In WWE 2K25, Ending Decade-Long Streak

Shane McMahon’s run of appearances in WWE video games has ended with WWE 2K25, breaking his streak since WWE 2K16. While WWE 2K25 will boast the largest wrestling video game roster in history, Shane, a former European and Hardcore Champion, is not part of the roster.

WWE 2K25: Complete Roster Reveal: Playable Characters, Managers & More

Though Shane’s exit marks the end of his streak in WWE video games, the McMahon family are not entirely gone. Stephanie McMahon remains as the sole McMahon family representative, appearing as both a playable character and manager.

The McMahon family’s reduced presence reflects recent changes, particularly regarding Vince McMahon. His appearances in the hit game series ended with WWE 2K24 following serious allegations in early 2024, which complicated that game’s development, especially its 40 Years of WrestleMania mode. Not only was Vince McMahon not a playable character, but WWE and 2K made great efforts to avoid using McMahon in archival footage.

WWE 2K25 is set to release on March 14, with the Deadman and Bloodline Editions of the game set to release one week early for eager gamers. While fans will have the chance to create Shane McMahon as part of the ‘Creation Suite,’ Shane O’Mac won’t be an official part of this year’s instalment in the franchise.

Triple H, Stephanie & Shane Join Linda McMahon At Education Secretary Hearing

Linda McMahon, former WWE CEO, appeared before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee today for her confirmation hearing as Secretary of Education. McMahon was joined by her daughter Stephanie and son-in-law Paul ‘Triple’ Levesque at the proceedings at the Dirksen Senate Office Building. Levesque was seated directly behind the nominee while Stephanie was to the right of her husband. Linda’s son Shane was also present alongside his wife Marissa.

McMahon’s hearing comes at a pivotal moment for the Department of Education, as President Trump has openly declared his intention to eliminate the agency. Trump, who McMahon worked for during his first presidency, has referred to the department as a “big con job.” Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency has already reduced the department’s funding by nearly $1 billion, raising questions about McMahon’s potential role in leading an agency marked for dissolution.

McMahon brings significant business acumen from her tenure transforming WWE into a multi-billion-dollar enterprise though has little background in education. Though McMahon previously served for one year on Connecticut’s State Board of Education, her departure came with controversy. After her exit, it was revealed that she had misled the board when applying, claiming she had a Bachelors degree in Education. Her degree is actually in Frnech.

This confirmation process represents a crucial juncture for federal education policy as McMahon may be tasked with overseeing major structural changes. With McMahon dedicating her loyalty to Trump/Musk’s plot to abolish the department, her time leading the DOE may be a short one if confirmed.

Declan McMahon Confirms He’ll Be At Royal Rumble

A third-generation McMahon family member has declared his entry into the Lucas Oil Stadium for Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble event.

Declan McMahon, the son of Shane McMahon revealed on Twitter recently that he’ll be attending the latest WWE PPV. When someone commented that he should enter the Rumble itself, Declan wrote that it’ll happen soon:

It’s unknown if Shane will be accompanying his son at the show. The 55-year-old was last seen on WWE TV during the WrestleMania 39 event where he infamously tore his quad muscle.

The injury led to Snoop Dogg replacing him in the match against the Miz which the rap star won. Shane’s contract with the company expired in mid-2024 and there have been no updates on a potential return for the risk-taking star.

In a 2023 Interview with WU Online, Declan McMahon had also commented on the potential of a wrestling career like his dad. McMahon who accompanied his dad during the latter WrestleMania 32 entrance had called it ‘the coolest experience.’

While not fully committing to the possibility, Declan had claimed that he would never rule out a potential wrestling debut. Though according to the Football star, it’s all about the story and he would only enter the business if the right opportunity presents itself.

Mercedes Moné Backs Shane McMahon In AEW, Says The Roster Is On Board

In July, Shane McMahon shocked fans by meeting with Tony Khan at an airport in Arlington, Texas to discuss potential plans and their mutual love for wrestling. Ever since, speculation has grown that McMahon could join AEW in due time, a possibility that TBS Champion Mercedes Moné would be all for.

In her latest newsletter, Moné shares why she is on board with McMahon possibly joining AEW and her belief that this sentiment is shared by the rest of AEW’s roster.

“Seeing Shane’s incredible heart and passion for wrestling makes me think he has a lot of unfinished business. It also makes me think is Shane coming to AEW? I’m here for it, and I’m sure our roster is too.

“If he doesn’t come back to wrestling, it will make me sad for him. “I know what it’s like to be removed from what you love and how sad it made me. I imagine he feels the same way.”

Moné has played a role in the Shane-AEW rumor buzz, as after McMahon’s meeting with Khan was leaked online, the CEO shared that she was the one who photographed the pair.

While the idea of a McMahon being ‘All Elite’ seemed preposterous just a few years ago, Shane’s meeting with Khan proves the old adage to ‘never say never’ in wrestling. After all, it was ‘impossible’ just a few years ago that Vince McMahon would leave WWE, an act that has happened not once but twice since July 2022.

Though his days as a full-time performer are in the past, McMahon has a passion and insight into wrestling, both the on-screen product and the business side, that’d make him a valuable asset to Tony Khan. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on Shane McMahon and whether he is one day ‘All Elite.’

Shane McMahon Flies With AEW’s Young Bucks in “Coincidence Meeting”

In July of this year, wrestling fans were shocked as Shane McMahon, the prodigal son of WWE, met with Tony Khan at an airport in Arlington, Texas. This week, McMahon was once again in an airport, and once again, his time traveling left the 54-year-old feeling very ‘Elite.’

On Twitter, the Young Bucks shared that they bumped into McMahon at an airport with the AEW World Tag Champions saying they had an “interesting flight today.”

McMahon has said that it was sheer “coincidence” that he and the Bucks were on the same flight, Cultaholic reports. The trio were seen speaking and laughing together before boarding their flight in New York. All three sat in first class, with McMahon sitting behind the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions. It’s added that the two parties didn’t interact much during the flight, as the Bucks slept through most of the journey to Salt Lake City.

McMahon and Tony Khan had a “really nice” meeting in which they discussed their mutual fondness for wrestling and “possibilities moving forward.” Their meeting came after Conrad Thompson claimed that McMahon had spoken to some in AEW about the possibility of joining Tony Khan’s first promotion. It was later clarified that Shane was not making a formal pitch to join AEW and was simply stating that it would be an interesting moment in wrestling

What Does The Roster Say?

Shane McMahon and Tony Khan
Tony Khan and Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon joining AEW would certainly be huge and has the backing of AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson, who’s open to working with Shane in AEW. McMahon and Danielson were once authority figures on SmackDown and teamed together at WrestleMania 34 in 2018.

MJF on the other hand has warned Shane to stay away from him, citing that it’s in the best interest of Shane’s health if the pair were kept at a distance. MJF has also mocked McMahon’s WrestleMania 39 quad tear, commenting that the ‘apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,’ a nod to Vince McMahon suffering the same injury in 2005.

What’s Next?

While Shane has yet to appear on AEW programming, this chance encounter with the Young Bucks will add fuel to the rumors that he could be joining. Although a McMahon being All-Elite would’ve seemed impossible just a year ago, fans likewise once felt it was impossible that Vince McMahon would leave WWE, never mind doing so twice.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on Shane McMahon as fans continue await what the future holds for him, and whether his future is in AEW.

MJF On Shane McMahon: The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree

MJF has warned Shane McMahon to stay away from him.

The AEW American Champion has been making media rounds to promote the upcoming All In PPV. He spoke to WrestleTalk in the spree to discuss things such as his match with Michael Oku, his rivalry with Will Ospreay and more.

Maxwell was asked to say some words about the names mentioned during a segment in the interview. When the name of Shane McMahon came up, he warned the former SmackDown commissioner to stay away from him:

“Please stay away. For his health, just stay away from me.”

When the hosts mentioned Shane’s win in the WWE World Cup at Crown Jewel 2018, MJF rebutted by reminding them how the son of the former WWE owner also tore his quad during his last wrestling appearance:

“I thought it was super impressive how easily he tore his quad you know. The Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Let’s hope that’s not in every single facet of his life.”

It’d Be Huge For The Fans: MJF

Later the current champion was inquired about the locker room reaction to the leaked photo of Shane’s meeting with Tony Khan. The Salt of The Earth claimed that he wouldn’t know because he doesn’t talk to anyone in the locker room. Though he did accept that McMahon making an AEW appearance would be a big deal:

“I wouldn’t know. I don’t talk to anybody in the locker room. They all hate me. But I can tell you my reaction. My reaction was – ‘please stay away from me.’ Now if he wants to come in, I genuinely think he’s a mega star. I think that’d be freaking great. It’d be huge for the fans. It’d be huge for AEW.”

Shane McMahon’s last wrestling appearance came at WrestleMania 39. He got into an impromptu match with The Miz at the show but he tore his quad muscle early in the match and couldn’t continue. Snoop Dogg who was at the ringside then replaced Shane and won the match.

This sequence of events reminded many of the infamous incident when Vince McMahon tore both his quads while getting into the ring after a botched finish to the 2005 Royal Rumble match.

Tony Khan Shares More On “Really Nice Visit” With Shane McMahon

Tony Khan has shared more about his surprising meeting with Shane McMahon which the AEW President found to be “really nice.” Speaking with the Sedano & Kap Show, Khan addressed the meeting that took place at an Arlington, Texas airport last month.

“As I understand, he’s not doing anything with WWE, and I had a really nice visit with him…

I have a lot of respect for him. I had never met him, but he seemed like a really nice guy. I sat down with him, he was fantastic. I really enjoyed talking with him. He is a very smart person about wrestling.”

WWE’s Prodigal Son met with Tony Khan last month and it’s been reported that the pair discussed “possibilities moving forward.” In a statement shared with Busted Open Radio, McMahon said he and Khan discussed a shared love of the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family.

This meeting has left many speculating on whether a McMahon family member could soon be All Elite. Earlier this year, Conrad Thompson claimed that McMahon had spoken to some in AEW about the possibility of joining Tony Khan’s first promotion. It was later clarified that Shane was not making a formal pitch to join AEW and was simply stating that it would be an interesting moment in wrestling. Bryan Danielson has said he’s open to working with McMahon, or anyone, in AEW.

McMahon hasn’t appeared for WWE since his WrestleMania 39 showdown with The Miz which resulted in Shane suffering a torn quad. While McMahon has reportedly made efforts to return to WWE since then, these have been rebuffed by higher-ups. Shane was fired in 2022 for reportedly causing backstage chaos at the Royal Rumble and it’s said there’s still a lot of negativity within WWE against the 54-year-old.

Bryan Danielson On Shane McMahon: ‘I’m Open To Working with Anyone in AEW’

Bryan Danielson would be fine working with Shane McMahon should the ‘Prodigal Son‘ of WWE soon find a home in All Elite Wrestling. Speaking with the Gorilla Position podcast, Danielson addressed those rumors about McMahon.

“I’m open to working with anybody. I don’t have beef with anybody. 100%.”

The American Dragon added that Tony Khan told him of the meeting with McMahon though by the time he did, Danielson, like everyone else in wrestling, was well aware.

“Tony mentioned to me after the photo came out, ‘I didn’t want to tell you this before, but I met with Shane McMahon.’ I didn’t say this, but I was like, ‘Yeah, I know. The picture is everywhere.'”

McMahon and Danielson have a history in WWE and were allies on-screen from 2016 to 2018. After a series of injuries forced Danielson to retire from in-ring competition, he was appointed SmackDown’s GM in 2016 by McMahon, who served as the brand’s commissioner. Danielson left the role as General Manager upon being cleared to wrestle again in 2018 and teamed with Shane to defeat Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 34.

Shane McMahon in AEW

McMahon met with Tony Khan last month and it’s been reported that the pair discussed “possibilities moving forward.” In a statement shared with Busted Open Radio, McMahon said he and Khan discussed a shared love of the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family.

The meeting of the WWE staple and AEW President has left many speculating on whether a McMahon family member could soon be All Elite. This meeting comes after it was claimed by Conrad Thompson earlier this year that McMahon had spoken to some in AEW about the possibility of joining Tony Khan’s first promotion. It was later clarified that Shane was not making a formal pitch to join AEW and was simply stating that it would be an interesting moment in wrestling.

Tony Khan has said he has a lot of respect for Shane and appreciates his work as both an in-ring performer and an executive. McMahon hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since WrestleMania 39 where he made a surprise appearance for an impromptu match against The Miz. While McMahon has reportedly made efforts to return to WWE since then, these are said to have been rebuffed by higher-ups. Shane was fired the previous year for reportedly causing backstage chaos at the 2022 Royal Rumble and it’s said there’s still a lot of negativity within WWE against 54-year-old.

Shane McMahon Reportedly Tried To Return to WWE Before Tony Khan Meeting

More has come to light about Shane McMahon following his surprising meeting with Tony Khan that took place earlier this week. McMahon recently broke the internet after it was revealed that he has met with the AEW President to discuss future business opportunities. Shane has since shared that the pair discussed wrestling, their respect for the business, and the challenges of working for family members. This meeting came months after it was reported that McMahon had spoken with AEW talent about his possibly working with the promotion.

Latest On Shane McMahon

McMahon attempted to return to WWE programming after WrestleMania 39, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio. It was said that people in charge of WWE “have no interest in him,” and there’s still “a lot of negativity” surrounding McMahon in WWE. Shane was infamously let go after reportedly creating chaos backstage at the 2022 Royal Rumble PLE.

Meltzer argued that this opposition to Shane within WWE could change if they believe he’s joining AEW. Meltzer added that it would not be a surprise if his meeting with Khan was a “leverage” play on McMahon’s behalf to make a WWE return happen. Tony Khan has spoken publicly on his respect for Shane as both a performer and an executive as there’s clearly a lot of respect between the two.

Could Shane McMahon join AEW? Or will his recent meeting convince WWE higher ups to give him the return he reportedly has been pining for? Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest on this developing situation.

Shane McMahon AEW Rumors Explained: Tony Khan Meeting and More

Earlier this summer, rumors began circulating about Shane McMahon potentially joining All Elite Wrestling (AEW). These rumors were initially sparked by comments on Jim Ross’ Grilling JR podcast, where the possibility of McMahon joining AEW was discussed.

AEW CEO Tony Khan later stated that McMahon would be “welcome” in the promotion, fueling speculation about this potential collaboration.

Shane McMahon and Tony Khan: The Arlington Meeting

According to a report from Fightful Select and WrestleTalk, Shane McMahon and Tony Khan recently met for the first time in Arlington, Texas.

The meeting took place in an airport, where they discussed the possibility of McMahon joining AEW. This meeting occurred on Monday, July 29, marking a significant step in the ongoing rumors.

Details of the Meeting

The meeting was described as a preliminary discussion, with both parties exploring potential opportunities. A surreal photo surfaced online to legitimize this story, showing McMahon and Khan in a conference room together, with Khan seated and McMahon standing.

Khan appeared amused in the photo, while McMahon had a more serious expression. As of now, the talks are in the early stages, and sources within AEW had not been briefed on the details of the meeting as of Tuesday.

Shane McMahon: “We Had a Great Meeting”

McMahon would issue a statement following the ‘leak’ of the meeting to Bully Ray of Busted Open After Dark, which was read on air:

“Tony and I were connected through a mutual friend and we had a great meeting. We talked about many things, but mostly about our shared love for the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family. I congratulated him on the five-year anniversary of AEW and look forward to see how he evolves the business moving forward.”

So, who was the mutual friend that linked up Shane McMahon and Tony Khan?

The Latest

As of writing, there is no confirmation that McMahon has signed any sort of the deal with All Elite Wrestling, although there is clearly interest from both sides.

We will update this page as and when more information becomes publicly available.

Shane McMahon Gives Statement, Shares What He & Tony Khan Discussed

Shane McMahon has given a statement on his meeting with Tony Khan after the pair were spotted together in a meeting in Arlington, Texas. It has been reported that the pair met to discuss possibilities moving forward and that Khan has been open to speaking with McMahon for some time.

On Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray delivered a statement from Shane on the meeting:

“Tony and I were connected through a mutual friend and we had a great meeting. We talked about many things, but mostly about our shared love for the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family. I congratulated him on the five year anniversary of AEW and look forward to how he evolves the business moving forward.”

A photo of Shane and Khan have been shared online. On Twitter, AEW TBS Champion/NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone took credit for the viral image.

Shane McMahon And AEW

It was claimed by Conrad Thompson earlier this year that McMahon had spoken to some in AEW about the possibility of joining Tony Khan’s first promotion. It was later clarified that Shane was not making a formal pitch to join AEW and was simply stating that it would be an interesting moment in wrestling. Tony Khan has said he has a lot of respect for Shane and appreciates his work as both an in-ring performer and an executive.

McMahon hasn’t been seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 39 when he made a surprise appearance for an impromptu match against The Miz. This was McMahon’s return match to WWE after being fired the previous year for reportedly causing backstage chaos at the 2022 Royal Rumble event.

Details On Shane McMahon and Tony Khan’s Meeting Earlier This Week

No, you didn’t misread that headline: Former WWE Executive and Superstar Shane McMahon, had a private meeting with All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan. The meeting took place at a private airport in Arlington, Texas, according to WrestleTalk and Fightful:

Shane McMahon in AEW

This surreal development comes just over a month after rumors circulated that Shane McMahon was interested in joining AEW. Former WWE and current AEW commentator Jim Ross mentioned in mid-June that he had received information that McMahon had expressed some interest in collaborating with AEW.

McMahon hasn’t been seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 39 when he made a surprise appearance for an impromptu match against The Miz. Unfortunately, the Shane-O-Mac would suffer a torn quad moments following the opening bell.

In a recent interview with SI’s Justin Barrasso, Tony Khan spoke about the possibility of Shane McMahon joining AEW and expressed great respect for McMahon:

“I heard the rumor he might be interested. I’ve never met Shane, but we have a lot of mutual friends…I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and a professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW.”

Shane McMahon appearing for All Elite Wrestling would be as much of a “never say never” moment as there is in wrestling. One of the only comparisons is when the Prodigal Son appeared on the last episode of WCW Nitro in 2001. It would also be a direct shot across the bow, as his brother-in-law Triple H currently serves as Chief Content Officer of AEW’s biggest rival promotion, WWE.

Will we see Shane McMahon attempt an on-screen hostile takeover of AEW? Will AEW fans get to see Shane McMahon and Darby Allin have a contest to see who can do the most death-defying dive? These might be premature questions now, but one’s that are not out of the realm of possibility after today’s developments.

Mercedes Mone Explains Shane McMahon Airport Meetup

Mercedes Mone confirms that she bumped into Shane McMahon over the weekend at New York City’s LaGuardia Airpot.

Mone defeated Stephanie Vaquer at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door on Sunday to capture the Strong Women’s Championship. She’s now a double-champion and has held the TBS title since her win over Willow Nightingale at Doubule or Nothing back in May.

Mone she couldn’t believe her eyes when she came face-to-face with an old friend. The CEO sent the following message to subscribers of her weekly newsletter:

“My first day being a double title holder and the first wrestler and former WWE Superstar I see is [Shane] McMahon….come on, if that isn’t the universe working in divine timing, I don’t know what else it could be,

I’ve always loved Shane. When we locked eyes, we both kind of looked at each other like IS THAT YOU? Our faces lit up as we got to talking a bit and before he boarded his flight, he gave me his number… the rest as they say [is] history or maybe a mystery!”

Shane McMahon & AEW

The idea of Shane McMahon appearing for All Elite Wrestling is far-fetched, but this is pro wrestling and stranger things have happened.

During a recent edition of the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross and Conrad Thompson discussed the possibility of Shane McMahon in AEW. JR said the idea is so crazy it might just work, but it would all hinge on the creative storytelling. The hypothetical scenario became a hot topic of conversation online and is not out of the realm of possibility.

“There was a friend of ours, I shouldn’t say their name, but he went out of his way to text me and say, ‘Hey, that’s not as crazy as you think. I know for sure that Shane McMahon has reached out to wrestlers on the AEW roster to at least hypothetically discuss the idea.’ Are we saying that’s going to happen? No. We are saying it’s not that crazy of an idea,” said Conrad.

Tony Khan has spoken about Shane McMahon publicly a few times over the years, most recently during an interview with Justin Barrasso for SI. Khan said he’s heard the rumors about Shane asking around about AEW and he’d welcome the opportunity to meet.

“I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and a professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW.”

Tony Khan Says He Greatly Respects Shane McMahon: “Always Welcome in AEW”

Khan has officially welcomed the possibility of McMahon joining AEW.

Conrad Thompson had the internet buzzing after he shared that he heard that Shane McMahon had communicated with someone from All Elite Wrestling. McMahon has been off WWE TV since he suffered a torn quadricep injury in an impromptu match against The Miz at WrestleMania 39 on April 2. Many fans believe it will be for WWE if Shane-o-Mac returns to TV. However, it seems WWE’s competition would welcome him with open arms.

Justin Barrasso recently spoke with AEW President Tony Khan for SI and asked about the possibility of Shane ‘o Mac becoming All Elite. Khan said he’s never met the man, but would welcome him any time.

“I heard the rumor he might be interested,” said Khan. “I’ve never met Shane, but we have a lot of mutual friends.”

“I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and a professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW.”

It’s unclear if McMahon really has an interest in joining AEW. That said, the possibility has fans wondering how the WWE veteran would fit in another wrestling company. The AEW President also touched on other topics related to the company, including an update on their TV rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.

Tony Khan Remains Optimistic About New Deal With Warner Bros. Discovery

The clock is starting to run out on AEW’s current deal with WBD. It’s expected that their current TV deal will expire in the fall. Despite AEW not reaching a new agreement, Khan has remained optimistic about the company’s future.

In the interview, Khan shared a minor update, stating that he has recently spoken with the WBD staff.

“We’re having great discussions with Warner Bros. Discovery,” said Khan. He continued, “I have a great relationship with (WBD CEO) Mr. David Zaslav. We’re fortunate to work with him and his team. It’s a really strong relationship, and I had just a great discussion with their leadership team this week.”

It seems AEW’s future with WBD is still in limbo. Hopefully, both sides can reach a new deal, or Khan can find his company a new home before the fall.

The Next Shane McMahon? KSI Ready to Do Much More After RKO from Randy Orton

KSI may have been left aching after appearing on last week’s SmackDown, but that won’t stop him from getting back on WWE programming.

During last week’s episode of SmackDown, Logan Paul and KSI announced that PRIME Energy will sponsor the ring mat of all WWE premium live events. This unprecedented move in WWE will begin with next month’s WrestleMania 40 event in Philadelphia, PA.

The PRIME Energy co-founders were interrupted by Randy Orton, who many expect will challenge the U.S. Champion at WrestleMania. While Paul escaped the RKO attempt, KSI was less lucky and was hit with the move before being dragged onto the PRIME logo.

KSI Ready to Return to WWE

On the most recent edition of the ImPaulsive podcast, KSI spoke about taking the RKO from WWE’s Legend Killer.

Honestly, one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life… My nose is smushed, my lip got cut up. The inside of my lip is destroyed from my teeth slamming into his bicep.”

KSI was certainly hurting after his run-in with Randy Orton but is hoping to do much more as part of WWE programming.

“I like to see myself as the Shane McMahon of WWE. I don’t mind getting a Stone Cold Stunner. I just want one suplex.”

KSI in WWE

KSI’s unfortunate appearance on SmackDown is not the only time he was left hurting at a WWE event. At WrestleMania 39, KSI, dressed as a PRIME bottle, attempted to help Logan Paul during his match with Seth Rollins. Things backfired when Rollins would pull KSI onto the announce table and Paul, who had lept from the top turnbuckle when Seth had been prone, crashed into his friend and business partner.

After that appearance, KSI teased challenging Bobby Lashley, which earned a response from the All Mighty former WWE Champion. KSI’s involvement in WWE is somewhat ironic, given that early into his YouTube career, his WWE video game playthroughs proved some of his most popular content.

Shane McMahon’s Son Kenyon Announces His Commitment To UNC Football Team

WWE legend Shane McMahon’s son Kenyon McMahon recently made the announcement that he has committed to play college football.

Each of Shane’s sons has impressed in their respective athletic fields. Kenyon McMahon is now committed to college football as a safety and wideout for UNC. With his brother Declan playing for Indiana University, eyes are on Kenyon McMahon as well.

Meanwhile, Shane McMahon has not appeared on WWE television since suffering an injury in a match against The Miz at WrestleMania 39.

Kenyon McMahon: I’m extremely blessed and excited

Shane’s son Kenyon McMahon took to social media and announced his commitment to play college football for the University of North Carolina. The post reads:

“I’m extremely blessed and excited to announce my commitment to play football at the University of North Carolina. #GoHeels”

Kenyon is listed at 6’1?, 170-pound, and played safety and wide receiver at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, New York.

Meanwhile, Declan McMahon started with Indiana University in 2023 and is listed as a running back, but did not see a snap last season.

At WWE Fastlane last year, Declan appeared alongside other Indiana Hoosiers football team players. Speaking with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald, Declan discussed focusing on his football career. However, he also stated that he has been impressed by the WWE’s Performance Center.

“I went down there once and it’s gorgeous. Obviously being in Florida, which is one of the greatest places to live. Especially with state tax and everything. The weight room in there [the Performance Center] is amazing. They’ve got a ton of rings. It’s just great because obviously when you’re wrestling it’s not only about how you look it’s about how safe you can be and how you can protect who you’re in the ring with.”

Well, someday Declan could hit the squared circle just like his father. He also has his debut plan plotted and you can read about it below:

Seth Rollins on Vince McMahon’s WWE Return: “You Ever Seen Succession?”

Seth Rollins has had an interesting take to the McMahon family and recent changes in WWE, comparing the situation to the hit series ‘Succession.’

The comedy-drama series, now in its fourth season, tells the story of the Logan family and the power struggles when their father steps down from controlling an influential media company.

Succession

Like the Logans, the McMahons are no stranger to personal drama, as seen with the return of Vince McMahon earlier this year.

When asked about Vince’s return to power by Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Rollins found the comparison to Succession to be apt.

“Have you ever seen the show ‘Succession’? If you need an explanation, there you go. You have three seasons of it, I think on HBO, so that’s again, all above my head. I’m a pro wrestler, I show up, I put in the work in the ring, try to do my best to entertain the people who buy the tickets and watch us on TV, and that’s all I can focus on. If I start worrying about the other stuff, I’m gonna lose my cool so, I gotta keep my cool, my friend.”

Seth Rollins.

Vince Vs. McMahon

WrestleMania 16 in 2000 was sold on the promise of ‘a McMahon in every corner’ for the main event, but Vince’s issues with his own kin aren’t just for show.

Following Stephanie’s resignation last month, it was reported that she and her father struggled to work together, with Nick Khan acting as a peacemaker between them.

Daddy’s Little Girl isn’t the only McMahon to draw Vince’s ire, as Shane McMahon was fired last year due to his actions backstage at the Royal Rumble.

Shane’s behavior was so egregious that Vince claimed at the time that his son would never receive another pop from the crowd at a WWE event.

With his biological children out of WWE, Vince’s sole relation still working for the promotion is his son-in-law Triple H, and reports of conflict between the two have cropped up over the years.

Kurt Angle is Willing to Wrestle Shane McMahon Again… For the Right Price

Kurt Angle is ready to don his singlet and wrestling boots for a rematch with Shane McMahon, but the match won’t come cheap.

At the 2001 King of the Ring Pay-Per-View, Angle wrestled three times, defeating Christian in the titular tournament semi-finals, before losing to Edge in the finals.

Angle’s third match of the night saw him defeat Shane McMahon in a Street Fight which continues to be considered one of the best matches of both men’s respective careers.

Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon did not spend years honing his craft on the independents before wrestling for his father’s company, but he made up for any lack of experience in the ring.

McMahon’s death-defying stunts would not look out of place in any hardcore indie promotion, and on his podcast, Angle had nothing but praise for Shane O’Mac.

“Shane was great. I always loved working with him. Whether we were wrestling or cutting promos. We’ll never live down the match at King of the Ring. No matter how many times I wrestle Shane we will never duplicate that match, ever.”

The King of the Ring match is perhaps best remembered for Shane being thrown through the show’s glass staging, twice.

The Rematch

In total, Kurt Angle wrestled for 45 minutes and 9 seconds at King of the Ring 2001, an impressive feat considering he’d been a WWF Superstar for little over a year.

Speaking about facing Shane in a rematch, Kurt said that to do so would cost a lot of money.

“man, that’s tough. Well, that would have to be a lot of money, I’m talking ten million.”

Angle hasn’t competed since his WWE WrestleMania 35 loss to Baron Corbin in April 2019.

New Details on Shane McMahon’s Controversial Conduct at the Royal Rumble

Earlier this year, Shane McMahon received backlash for his conduct behind the scenes at the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

Prior to his surprise return at the event (video below), Shane used his influence to make significant changes to the Rumble match, including booking himself stronger over established talent.

Along with that, there were reports that Shane was reportedly acting “unprofessional” at the even, and had even ticked off Brock Lesnar, who went on to win the Rumble.

A new report from Fightful provides new details surrounding the fallout between Shane McMahon and Vince McMahon stemming from the Royal Rumble incident.

Brock Lesnar was said to be very displeased with Shane’s adjustments, so much so that it caught the eye of Vince, who called it the end of the for Shane. As expected it was Vince who made the decision to part-ways with his son, with one source telling the publication that Vince even went as far to say that “Shane would never get another pop in WWE” as long as he was still in charge.

The belief is that Vince was just angry in the moment when he made that declaration and that things could eventually be patched up, but those close to the situation believe that Vince was justified due to Shane’s aforementioned behavior and “unjust” decision making.

Vince McMahon retired just a few days ago, but already, there is a feeling that talent is feeling more comfortable to share information like this Shane McMahon story.

Tito Ortiz Discusses Shane McMahon Inviting Him To WWE Tryout In 2019

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz was once invited to tryout for WWE in 2019 by Shane McMahon.

Speaking in a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Ortiz was asked about a potential run in professional wrestling. Ortiz detailed an opportunity he had back in 2000, when he was UFC champion, during an interview he did on WWE programming.

Initially, Tito Ortiz believed it would be a standard interview, but later found out the WWE were hoping to see his personality, or perhaps some theatrics from “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy.”

“I went to WrestleMania, they came through Anaheim, I was champion at the time. It was 2000. I went and did…I thought it was going to be a normal interview like this, sit down and talk, but they were looking to see what kind of personality and character I had.

“I didn’t know that. I wish I would have known that because I would have sold myself way better. I was too mellow [mild] mannered. They wanted to see the crazy Huntington Beach Boy, and no one told me anything or said a word to me. I went and was being polite and respectful. Never heard anything back.”

In 2019 he was again interviewed by WWE, but made the same mistake of not showcasing his personality. However, he was contacted by Shane McMahon to work out at the WWE Performance Center.

After some good in-ring work, Ortiz was optimistic about the possibility of doing something with WWE moving forward, but after the COVID 19 pandemic, he heard nothing back.

“2019, Shane McMahon reached out to me and said, ‘What do you think about coming in and trying out?’ I went and did it and, once again, I didn’t think about this, ‘that’s why they didn’t do it.’ I wasn’t over the top. They want someone over the top and be, not crazy, but be an eye-catcher.

“I went to [The Performance Center], and went and trained with Norman Smiley, an amazing teacher. I was learning stuff that it took some guys six months to learn. he was like, ‘Wow, you really got this.’ Then COVID came and I never heard anything.

“I would like to do some matches. I think I have what it takes. It would take a lot of hard work, I get it, but it’d be fun. It’s a lot of training, but I did it. I did the two weeks, training twice a day.

“I put myself through it and it was hard, but it was like being in college wrestling again. My body is subdued, no problem at all. I had no pain. After I was done, I thought I’d have neck problems, I’ve had four neck surgeries, but I didn’t have any problems. It was good.”

Triple H Attends Declan McMahon’s High School Graduation (Photos)

Triple H recently attended the graduation ceremony of his nephew, Declan McMahon, the son of brother-in-law Shane McMahon.

Declan graduated from the Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn. During his time there, he played football for the school, at positions such as running back and quarterback. Now, he’ll head to Indiana University, where he’ll also play football.

Recently, Declan took to Instagram to share some photos from his graduation ceremony, where he posed with uncle Triple H. Check out the photos here.

As for Declan’s father, Shane, he’s currently on the outs in WWE. This began back in January at the Royal Rumble. Shane took a lot of heat for his part in helping produce the Men’s Royal Rumble.

Shane was actually involved in the match. Plans for Shane to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, as well as being part of the Elimination Chamber match this past February, were scrapped.

He also reportedly pushed to work with Theory at WrestleMania 38, with Vince McMahon also being involved, however, those plans ultimately ended up with Pat McAfee. Declan’s aunt, Stephanie McMahon, recently decided to take time off from the company.

Stephanie McMahon announced a leave of absence to spend more time with her family, leading to WWE searching for a replacement for her position. Her husband, Triple H, is now back with WWE full-time.

“The Game” did deal with a health scare earlier this year, which forced him to retire from in-ring competition. He later revealed that he was dealing with affects from pneumonia and heart complications.

Corey Graves Wants a Match With Pat McAfee, Shane McMahon’s Son Set to Play College Football

Corey Graves Wants a Match With Pat McAfee

Pat McAfee made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 38 this past weekend. McAfee took on Austin Theory, while Vince McMahon watched ringside. When it was all said and done, however, McAfee emerged victorious over Theory. Of course, McAfee found himself immediately in another match, as McMahon entered the ring and ordered the referee to ring the bell, shortly thereafter pinning McAfee for a WrestleMania victory of his own.

Seeing McAfee compete in the ring, and in quite impressive fashion, seems to have inspired fellow WWE commentator Corey Graves. Graves recently did an interview with Wrestling Inc., and mentioned the possibility of sharing the ring with McAfee one day. However, it would have to be on the only day that RAW and SmackDown Live go head-to-head inside the ring, given they commentate on different brands, Survivor Series.

“Not to my knowledge was it ever discussed with any sense of legitimacy. But you’ve got to remember, there’s only one night a year Raw and SmackDown competes in head-to-head competition, Survivor Series.

“I hope, I am going to start politicking now,” he said on a possible match. “I think McAfee and Graves at Survivor Series, I think we have to pass the bar that was set by Cole and Lawlor at WrestleMania.”

Shane McMahon’s Son Set to Play College Football

Shane McMahon’s son, Declan James McMahon, has announced that he will be playing college football for Indiana University. Declan’s Twitter bio notes that the running back is six-feet tall and 190 pounds, although he played quarterback as well for Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn.

You can check out Declan’s announcement, as well as reactions from Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, and John Cena below:

Big Name To Be In Town For WWE WrestleMania Weekend

Various wrestlers will be in town for WWE WrestleMania weekend and now that includes Shane McMahon. According to PWinsider, the son of Vince McMahon will be in Dallas, Texas.

As of this writing, it’s unclear whether McMahon will appear on the show, but he’s slated to be in town for the entire Wrestlemania weekend. McMahon hasn’t been seen on camera since the WWE Royal Rumble in January to set up his potential match with Seth Rollins at this year’s Wrestlemania.

Just two days after the Rumble, he was removed from the company’s creative plans that called for him to be a regular on Raw as a heel.

McMahon had been pushing to work Austin Theory at Wrestlemania with the idea playing out of Theory’s involvement with Vince. Other officials were pushing for the Shane vs. Rollins match at Mania.

McMahon was one of the Producers for the Men’s Royal Rumble match. It was reported there was a lot of heat on Shane for the way he acted backstage regarding the bout and trying to put himself over instead of the other wrestlers. McMahon was upset that “he wasn’t being allowed to do what he wanted.”

The belief was Shane receiving the brunt of the heat for the poor reception to the Men’s Rumble match as many considered it to be lackluster. Once the heat blew over then he would be brought back.

Tony Khan Not Sure If Shane McMahon Would Be Good Fit In AEW, Willing To Take His Call

Despite it not being likely, there has been speculation that Shane McMahon could wind up in AEW considering All Elite Wrestling is very fond of opening The Forbidden Door. As seen in the past, the promotion welcomes anyone willing to walk through the door.

Shane McMahon was reportedly let go by WWE following the Royal Rumble event this year due to several backstage issues. It was said McMahon wanted to make the men’s Royal Rumble match all about himself and tried to pitch various ideas to make himself be the star of the bout.

AEW President Tony Khan talked about the possibility of McMahon working in someway for the promotion while doing an interview with Sports Illustrated

“I’d certainly take the call,” Khan says. “I’m sure he’d be an interesting person to talk to about wrestling. I’m not sure exactly if he would be a fit. I have not heard from him, and I don’t expect to hear from him, but in this business, you never know.”

AEW just opened The Forbidden Door with NJPW/Impact Wrestling star Jay White making an appearance on Wednesday’s Dynamite.
