Backstage Update On Molly Holly And Shawn Daivari

Both Hall Of Famer Molly Holly and former wrestling star Shawn Daivari are now working as full-time producers for WWE, according to PWinsider.

The female star had a tryout for a producer role back in June after the officials decided to hire more women for the role. She was originally offered a position at the performance center as well but she declined.

After the initial tryout, Holly went through an extended learning period to familiarise herself with the role. She worked on the SmackDown brand for the most part during the training period.

Daivari on the other hand had already worked as a producer for WWE before. He was hired as a full time producer in January 2019 but had to be released due to the coronavirus budget cuts in early 2020.

He returned to wrestling after getting released. Shawn Daivari wrestled for promotions such as Impact Wrestling and MLW in the time following his departure.

He also worked as a producer for a set of NWA tapings and was brought back by WWE right after that. The 37-year-old was brought back in June this year.

With the return of crowds, both Molly Holly and Shawn Diavari have assumed full-time positions in the company. It’s likely that WWE will hire more producers in future.

Veteran Wrestler Back In Backstage Role Wih WWE

Veteran wrestler Shawn Daivari is back with WWE in his producer role after being cut in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Per the latest updates from PWinsider, the former TNA star has returned to the company as a producer. He was backstage at this week’s episode of SmackDown.

Daivari’s presence at a WWE show this week is interesting because he was just working as a producer for NWA during their latest TV tapings last week.

With WWE preparing for their return to the road next month, there has been a push within the company to increase the number of producers, in order to alleviate the workload across the board.

Shawn Daivari’s return seems to be a move in that direction. Though he isn’t the only producer WWE has added to their roster recently and Molly Holly is currently in the middle of a tryout for a similar role.

The former TNA X Division champion originally had a WWE run as a wrestler from 2004 to 2007. He wrestled for promotions such as TNA, ROH, and Lucha Underground after his release from the company.

Daivari was originally brought in as a producer back in January 2019. He was with WWE for more than a year but the former champion was released from the promotion during the coronavirus budget cuts in April 2020.

Shawn Daivari Joins WWE In Backstage Role

WWE is bringing on a lot of former talent to work in backstage roles for the company. Recently, WWE Hall Of Famer Jeff Jarrett returned to the company to work as a producer. Similarly, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Shane Helms has also joined WWE to work with talent backstage. Now, former WWE star Shawn Daivari has returned to WWE to work in a backstage role as well.

Wrestling Inc. confirmed the news, initially reported by Last Word On Pro Wrestling. Daivari worked for WWE from 2004 to 2007. During that time, he served as the manager for the likes of Muhammad Hussan and The Great Khali. After his departure, he went on to have runs with promotions such as IMPACT Wrestling, Ring Of Honor (ROH), Lucha Underground, and more.

He even opened up a professional wrestling school with fellow former WWE star Mr. Anderson in Minnesota. Daivari made his return to WWE in 2018 in Saudi Arabia for the company’s “Greatest Royal Rumble” show. He appeared alongside his brother, current WWE 205 Live star Ariya Daivari.

WWE has also hired professional wrestling veterans Sonjay Dutt and Abyss to help backstage. They’re expected to begin with the company in mid-February.

What do you think about Daivari joining WWE in a backstage role?

Ariya Daivari Apologizes For Greatest Royal Rumble Segment

205 Live Superstar, Ariya Daivari, has released an apology for his segment during the Greatest Royal Rumble on Friday. Ariya Daivari, along with his brother, Shawn Daivari, appeared in a segment featuring 4 WWE prospects from Saudi Arabia.

Daivari recently took to his social media accounts to remind fans he is only portraying a character on television.

For those unaware, Iran and Saudi Arabia have a contentious relationship with one another. The rift between the two countries is related to interpretations of Islam, competition for oil exportation, and relationships with Western countries.

Shawn Daivari (34), returned to WWE at the Greatest Royal Rumble event on Friday. He is the older brother of Ariya, who has been competing on 205 Live and WWE’s cruiserweight division since 2016.

Unfortunately, Ariya Daivari also revealed he has received death threats as a result of the segment in Saudi Arabia.

Ariya Daivari on 205 Live

It’s not clear if Shawn Daivari will be making a full-time return to WWE or not. He currently runs a wrestling school in Minnesota along with former WWE wrestler, Ken Anderson (FKA Ken Kennedy).

The 29-year-old Ariya Daivari wrestled on the idependent scene for 10 years before signing with WWE in 2016. He had been used as enhancement talent on WWE programming in 2013 but wasn’t signed after attending a tryout. The company signed him in time to compete in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic, however. He was eliminated in the 1st round by Ho Ho Lun, a Hong Kong based wrestler who has since returned home to care for his sick mother.

Daivari was briefly associated with Enzo Amore’s “Zo Train” during his time as Cruiserweight Champion. For the most part, however, Daivari has played a low card heel on the show under the gimmick of a wealthy Arabian aristocrat.

In addition to Shawn Daivari returning to WWE recently, his old ally, Muhammad Hassan, also made a return. Hassan wrestled his first pro match in over 13 years this weekend.

2 Ex-WWE Stars Spotted In Saudia Arabia

Two former WWE Superstars have been spotted in Saudi Arabia and are presumed to be involved with tomorrow’s Greatest Royal Rumble event in Jeddah.

According to a report from PW Insider, Hornswoggle and Shawn Daivari have both been spotted in Saudi Arabia.

Shawn Daivari and Hornswoggle Returning To WWE?

It wouldn’t be a surprise if both wrestlers are returning to the company. Hornswoggle, 31, had a nearly 10-year run with WWE from 2006 to 2016. He was released on May 6th, 2016 after not having appeared on television since a Wellness Policy violation the previous September.

Swoggle was said to have been popular with kids during his run with the company. This fact may have led to his inclusion in the D-Generation X reunion storyline from 2009-2010. Real name Dylan Mark Postl, Swoggle also played the role of the Anonymous General Manager, Vince McMahon’s son, and Fit Finlay’s leprechaun. El Torito and Hornswoggle also wrestled in a well-reviewed “WeeLC Match” at Extreme Rules 2014. Recently, Swoggle has been a regular for Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore promotion and competed in a tournament to crown an inaugural TV Champion.

Shawn Daivari was with WWE from 2004 to 2007. His most famous role was when he was aligned with the controversial Muhammad Hassan character from 2004 to 2005. Daivari would later align with the Great Khali as well. The Great Khali has been confirmed for the Greatest Royal Rumble match on Friday, so Daivari’s role on the show might be related to him.

The 33-year-old Daivari wrestled for TNA, ROH, and Lucha Underground after being released from WWE. In TNA, Daivari is a former X-Division champion. He was released from the company in 2009, however, when his Feast of Fired briefcase contained a pink slip.

Shawn Daivari’s younger brother, Ariya Daivari, has been wrestling in WWE’s Cruiserweight division on 205 Live since its inception. Ken Anderson and Shawn Daivari currently run “The Academy: School of Professional Wrestling” out of Minnesota.

Shawn Daivari Reveals “Terrible” Gimmick Stephanie McMahon Once Pitched Him

Shawn Daivari recently spoke with Chris Featherstone of Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard Blog about his time and WWE and his controversial angle with Muhammad Hassan.

Daivari and Hassan were thrust into the spotlight upon their arrivals in WWE, speaking out against Americans who were discriminating against people of Arabic descent  in light of the 9/11 terror attacks. Daivari had already had a number of WWE tryouts, so he was known by a lot of people on the roster by the time he was brought in. Hassan, on the other hand, got a lot of heat with WWE veterans.

“They treated me like gold, and they treated Muhammad like crap,” Daivari said. “It was his first time up. He looked like a million dollars, he was way bigger than I was. I wasn’t considered a threat to anybody. I wasn’t gonna take anyone’s spot because if I was gonna do anything, I was gonna end up in the Cruiserweight division, which was such a low priority to begin with, it’s not threatening anybody.”

Their angle was eventually dropped after a terror attack in London back in July 2005. Daivari reveals that Stephanie McMahon approached him with a new gimmick that he flat out refused to take part in.

“Stephanie came up to me and was like, ‘We’ve got an idea for you for like next week. We want you to debut as a character named George W. Bush, and we want you to wear Red, White, and Blue trunks, and be like a super American patriot,” Daivari said.

“I replied, ‘I would love to kind of do my own thing, but that is a terrible idea. I don’t know who came up with it, or whose idea was it to come up with the name George W. Bush, and take me from the hottest heel to wearing red, white, and blue, and what the purpose is or the explanation for it. But, I really, really, feel strongly against it.”

It’s also noted that Page and Roberts will choose carefully who gets exclusive access to their home in the future.

TNA Knockout Says One Of Her Goals Is To Compete For WWE, Shawn Daivari Featured On CNN Website

– Sarita, who has not appeared for TNA Wrestling in six months, is setting grappling goals outside the promotion. The internationally-acclaimed wrestler revealed during an interview published Saturday on ESPNDeportes.com promoting breast cancer awareness that she wants to become the Women’s Champion of Puerto Rican based promotion World Wrestling Council, as well as compete for WWE. She believes she has the ability to accomplish both tasks and considers them immediate goals.

“I have many plans in the short term; I want to be champion of the World Council, plus I would like to fight in the WWE. I’m very focused on continue to succeed in the wrestling world,” she said.

Sarita, whose real name is Sarah Stock, publicly considered WWE a goal of hers when she began her professional wrestling career in Canada, but largely remained mum on the subject after gaining fame in Mexico as well as TNA Wrestling. She briefly competed for WWE’s former developmental promotion, Ohio Valley Wrestling, as a non-contracted talent during a wrestling tour of the United States in 2003. She was evaluated by WWE officials during an event tour through Canada the following year, but was not offered a contract.

Sarita also remarked on the differences in wrestling styles between Mexico and the United States, being away from her family in Canada most of the year, and how her family has dealt with the effects of cancer. A translated version of the story is available here.

April Hunter Explains Why She Turned Down TNA Contract Offer

— April Hunter, who has competed on the independent wrestling scene for numerous years, was offered a contract by TNA Wrestling in 2009. She explained why she declined their contract offer in an interview with www.f4wonline.com.

“First off, I do like the people there and enjoy the locker room and backstage. It’s a fun company. But there were a few issues,” she said.

“The money wasn’t more than I’m offered on the indies. However, the main issue was they asked me to sign a waiver clearing them of any future medical issues, and that I had to get cleared by my own doctor first. I knew of two other girls fighting with them to get their medical bills paid at that point and I wasn’t comfortable with the idea after all the injuries I’ve already been through. I know how easy it is to get hurt and I also know they like to suggest certain high risk moves at times. That is what royally screwed up a match I had with Desire years ago. TNA management put the match together using moves that neither one of us were comfortable or familiar with. So, I said no.

“I’d never rule them out if they change their policies, but for now, I don’t think it’s for me.”

— TNA Wrestling is back on the road on tour starting this Thursday in Joplin, Missouri, followed by events in Fort Smith and Hot Springs, Arkansas.

— Shawn Daivari, who competed in a pre-iMPACT! dark match last month, filmed scenes for a documentary at the television taping.
