Seth Rollins Calls Out CM Punk Again, Shayna Baszler On Becky Lynch

Seth Rollins was one of the first WWE stars to react to CM Punk’s surprise appearance at WWE Backstage last week. Rollins had told the former WWE Champion to fight him and he has called out the Straight Edge Superstar once again.

The Best In The World had tweeted about having to catch up on the last few years of wrestling for his new role at WWE Backstage and replying to him, the former Universal Champion once again challenged him for a fight:

Though while Seth Rollins is trying to get CM Punk to fight him, the former World Champion recently confirmed that he won’t be at Royal Rumble next year and there is no news of him returning to the ring anytime soon.

    Shayna Baszler On Becky Lynch

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw saw the NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Maria Shafir getting involved in a segment with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch resulting in a brawl between these stars.

After the show, The Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch commented on Shayna’s recent attacks, saying that she is coming after ‘The Man’ to make a name for herself.

Baszler responded to these comments from Lynch in the following post-show interview and also commented on how she is preparing for her WarGames match before the upcoming Survivor Series PPV:

  • Shayna Baszler On Differences Between Herself And Ronda Rousey

Shayna Baszler On Differences Between Herself And Ronda Rousey

NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler is set for a busy weekend during Survivor Series weekend. Not only will she be leading her team in a WarGames match on Saturday for NXT TakeOver, the next day sees her compete against both RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley at Survivor Series.

In an interview with Newsweek, Baszler addressed her Survivor Series triple threat match. She stressed that although Lynch has experience facing off against Ronda Rousey and her MMA experience, she is a “different animal” to her friend.

“I’ve always wanted to make it very clear that she [Rousey] does her thing I do mine. I just want to make it clear from day one that we’re friends, but you’re dealing with a whole different animal,” Baszler stated. “Just because you’re prepared for one doesn’t mean you’re prepared [for the other]. And I don’t just mean Becky, I mean the audience. Just because they know [Ronda] doesn’t mean they are prepared for me.”

She went on to compare her in-ring style compared to Rousey’s. Baszler highlighted how she likes to pick her opponents apart “piece by piece” before stressing that she is a “different type of dangerous.”

“[…] in a pro wrestling sense I have a different pace to how methodical and strategic I am. I think Ronda, and if you follow her MMA career she’s the same way, but she goes for the quick kill and does as much damage at once. And I’m going to pick you apart piece by piece and get enjoyment out of solving the puzzle that is a human. You’re just going to see a different pacing and a different form of viciousness.”

    SmackDown Invasion

Turning her attention to her recent appearance on Friday Night SmackDown, where she assaulted Bayley, Baszler shared how it felt like accomplishing a dream.

“It’s what every athlete in any sport dreams about. Us getting called and showing up on SmackDown is the equivalent in our world of the pinch hitter getting called in the ninth inning with a 3-2 count with two outs and is asked to deliver. This is everything that you dream about when you’re doing sports. It was pretty wild.”

Survivor Series takes place on November 24th from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

  • NXT To Hold All-Women Event In December

NXT To Hold All-Women Event In December

While a second WWE Evolution PPV is not currently in the works, NXT evidently has plans to throw an all-female event in December. NXT held a house show in Jacksonville, Florida last night and NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler announced the news. Baszler also informed the live audience that her championship will be defended on the show.

The all-women NXT event is scheduled for December 5th in Jacksonville. There is currently no word regarding if the special will air on the Network.

As for who Baszler will defend her title against, there are a few possibilities. Rhea Ripley defeated Bianca Belair In the opener of NXT on USA this week. Other contenders in the division, Io Shirai and Candice LeRae, also got involved in the match. Shirai and LaRae will meet in singles action next week.

The next contender for Shayna Baszler’s NXT women’s championship will then likely come down to Rhea Ripley and the winner of Io Shirai vs Candice LeRae on next week’s show.

The WWE women’s tag team championships are also playing a role on NXT these days and could potentially be defended on the December 5th all-female show as well. Next week on NXT, Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai will challenge Asuka and Kairi Sane for the championships. Nox and Kai earned the right to challenge the Kabuki Warriors by defeating Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir last week.

  • Shayna Baszler On NXT’s Transition To Live Television, Not Holding Back

Shayna Baszler On NXT’s Transition To Live Television, Not Holding Back

Current NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler has previously spoken about how now is the perfect time for “no-nonsense realism” in pro wrestling. In an interview with Newsweek, Baszler reiterated her feelings, stressing that she wants to bring realism into the women’s division.

“I just want to bring back that grimy, no-nonsense realism that the women’s division has been lacking. And as long as I can stay true to that, the rest will take care of itself. I’m from the midwest, so I believe as long as you put your nose in the dirt it all comes out in the wash. It might take you a couple years longer than someone else, but I’m fine with that, and I think I’m finally seeing the fruits of that,” she said.

    Changes

Baszler shared how NXT’s transition to the USA Network has seen some minor changes she had not anticipated. Now that NXT airs on USA, there are elements she had previously not considered she now has to be aware of.

“It’s been an interesting thing to have to worry about different TV aspects like watching your mouth or something like a t-shirt you wear,” Baszler said. “I don’t know if this is a story I should tell, but I have a 1969 Mustang, and it’s my prize possession. I have a shirt that says ‘I heart 69 mustangs,’ so I was going to wear it and I put it on social media but just the camera shot showed ‘I heart 69’ and they were like, ‘No we are on TV now, so you can’t.’ It’s stuff I didn’t think of because I’m just all about my car. The point of [the Performance Center] is to groom us for TV, so when it was time to pull the trigger, we found that we were more ready than we thought. It was scary until we got in there, and then it was ‘OK, we got this.’”

    “We Aren’t Holding Back”

When it comes to the next steps for herself and the NXT locker room, Baszler is confident they will continue to impress.

“[…] we aren’t holding back. It’s not like all of a sudden the reins are off. We’ve been doing this. Now everyone gets to see it on a bigger stage,” Baszler explained. “It’s not a case of ‘When we get on TV now we’re really going to have good matches.’ It’s not any different from us. The groundwork was laid out for us, and we are just continuing what we came into.”

Baszler recently defended her NXT Women’s Championship against Candice LeRae.

  • Shayna Baszler Retains WWE NXT Women’s Title Over Candice LeRae

Shayna Baszler Retains WWE NXT Women’s Title Over Candice LeRae

Shayna Baszler is still the WWE NXT Women’s Champion as Candice LeRae did not bring enough to become the new champion.

Baszler beat LeRae to retain the title during Wednesday’s episode of WWE NXT. Heading into this match, there was speculation regarding Baszler’s future as the NXT Women’s Champion and her status under the NXT banner.

WWE NXT Results & Live Discussion (10/2)

The reason for that is because of the WWE Draft coming up as the company could have moved her to the main roster whether that’s on RAW or SmackDown Live.

This was a key match in the women’s division as Baszler has been a top champion since winning the title back at the Evolution pay-per-view event in Long Island, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in October.

This contest was set up on the premiere episode when WWE held a match that would determine who is next line for a title shot.

A Fatal 4-Way Match featuring LeRae, Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, and Mia Yim took place with the winner becoming the next challenger to the then-NXT Women’s Champion.

As seen in the match, LeRae ended up winning it. As a result, LeRae had earned a future title match against Baszler.

  • Shayna Baszler Talks Up About Thriving Under Pressure

Shayna Baszler Talks Up About Thriving Under Pressure

Current WWE NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler has confessed that she is a pressure player—a fact that she believes will help her thrive as WWE and AEW prime for the Wednesday Night Wars.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Baszler explained “I’m a pressure player. Put me in the game at the critical time and I’ll get the job done. It’s something I’ve always done, and that won’t change when I’m wrestling on live TV.”

Despite NXT going to head-to-head with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) on Wednesday nights from next week, Baszler isn’t focused on what AEW is doing. Instead, she is concentrating on delivering performances to the best of her ability every week on WWE’s black-and-gold brand. She believes that by continuing to strive to compete at their high standards, everyone on the NXT roster can continue to be proud of their work.

Baszler added, “Our locker room at NXT is very proud of the work we do. Going into Wednesdays on USA, you’ll see us outdo ourselves every week.”

Baszler is scheduled to defend her NXT Women’s Championship against number one contender Candice LeRae next Wednesday night. That night will also see the premiere episode of All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite on TNT.

  • New #1 Contender Set For Shayna Baszler’s WWE NXT Women’s Title

New #1 Contender Set For Shayna Baszler’s WWE NXT Women’s Title

There is a new #1 contender in the WWE NXT women’s division and that’s Candice LeRae.

During Wednesday’s episode of NXT in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University, WWE held a match that would determine who is next line for a title shot.

A Fatal 4-Way Match featuring Candice LeRae, Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, and Mia Yim took place with the winner becoming the next challenger to NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler.

As seen in the match, LeRae ended up winning it. As a result, LeRae has earned a future title match against Baszler. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on when this contest will take place.

WWE could save it for the October 2nd episode as that is a special episode for two reasons.

First, it marks the first broadcast that will see the show air for a complete two-hours on the USA Network. The second reason is due to them going head-to-head each week with All Elite Wrestling’s new series on TNT.

Whenever this title match does take place, there will be speculation regarding Baszler future as the NXT Women’s Champion and her status under the NXT banner.

The reason for that is because of the WWE Draft coming up as the company could move her to the main roster whether that’s on RAW or SmackDown Live.

  • Shayna Baszler Describes NXT’s Move To USA Network As “The Most Important Day In Our History”

Shayna Baszler Describes NXT’s Move To USA Network As “The Most Important Day In Our History”

WWE NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler has described NXT’s move to USA Network as the most important day in NXT history.

During an interview with Muscle & Fitness, the champion was asked about changes she has noticed within the black-and-gold brand since signing to the company.

“There’s a lot of things,” Baszler responded. “I think I got into NXT at a very historic time. And I don’t mean just the USA [Network] stuff. NXT on USA is probably the most important day in our history. We’ll look back on it as the key day, but even going back to the first-ever Mae Young Classic, I’ve been such a huge part of these historic moments with NXT and WWE that I’m so excited to see what’s next.”

Baszler made her WWE debut during the Mae Young Classic in 2017. She lost in the finals to Kairi Sane before officially signing with WWE in October of that year. She has since gone on to make NXT history by becoming the first-ever two-time NXT Women’s Champion.

“In my opinion, the NXT Women’s title is a very prestigious title to have,” Baszler said. “So, the fact that I’m the only person to have ever held it twice is a huge thing that I definitely add to my list of accomplishments and I am very, very proud of it.”

NXT debuts on USA Network on September 18th.

  • William Regal Has No Sympathy For Mia Yim Following NXT Beatdown

William Regal Has No Sympathy For Mia Yim Following NXT Beatdown

WWE NXT General Manager William Regal had little time for Mia Yim following last night’s episode of NXT.

In case you missed it, Yim was confronted by NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler and her Horsewomen, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir. She was offered a spot under Baszler’s “dragon wing,” and was invited to join the three of them. Yim refused their invitation, instead launching an attack before the numbers game caught up with her.

After the show, Mia Yim caught up with a preoccupied William Regal, who was on the phone. She demanded a matchup against Shayna Baszler, highlighting that she was just beaten down in a three-on-one assault.

Regal’s response lacked any sort of sympathy, however:

“Listen, you had your opportunity at TakeOver,” he said. “You attacked two of them, what do you expect?”

He then resumed his phone call and walked off, leaving Mia Yim visibly frustrated.

The matchup Regal referred to was Mia Yim’s recent bout at TakeOver: Toronto. She competed in a losing effort for the WWE NXT Women’s Championship, submitting to Baszler.

Given the fallout of this match and her rejection to join Baszler and her cohorts, it appears this storyline has yet to run its course.

  • Bianca Belair Discusses TakeOver: Phoenix Matchup Against Shayna Baszler

Bianca Belair Discusses TakeOver: Phoenix Matchup Against Shayna Baszler

Up and coming NXT Superstar, Bianca Belair, has been impressing a lot of people with her development and performance during her time on the yellow-and-black brand — not only WWE executives and fans but legends and peers.

Speaking with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald, Belair shared some stories regarding her in-ring name and ring gear as she discussed her upcoming matchup against Shayna Baszler. The two are scheduled to compete for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT TakeOver: Phoenix on January 26th.

    All Herald The NXT EST

“My actual real name is Bianca Blair,” she explains. “Growing up, people always told me my name had a ring to it. People always remembered my name and so I wanted to think of something that was very similar to it. I just stuck an ‘E’ between the ‘B’ and the ‘L,’ made it from Bianca Blair to Bianca Belair. That’s where that name came from.”

When it comes to ring gear, Belair says that she favors “pretty much anything that stands out. Anything that is shiny.” She extrapolated, saying, “Anything that glitters, that’s why I’m into rhinestones. Superstars wear sequins, so I wear sequins and rhinestones. That’s where my whole gear comes from. The lip print that just highlights my femininity. I pride myself on being an athlete and I have muscles, but at the same time I am a woman and my muscles make me empowered as a woman. My lip print is just my step on everything, every time I step in the ring.”

The conversation then turned to January 26th and her match against current NXT Women’s champion, Baszler.

She claimed to be “100% ready” for the match, adding that “As an athlete my whole life I have been taught to always stay prepared, so I never have to get ready. I’ve been ready for this. I’ve been begging for this match. Basically begging for the title opportunity and now I have it.
Going in I know that Shayna, she comes from a great background. She’s coming in with a whole other skill set that I know absolutely nothing about it.
At the same time, I think about it, I walked in the Performance Center two and a half years ago knowing absolutely nothing about what I was getting myself into and look how quickly I’ve caught on. I’m going into this match 100% confident that I’m coming out with the NXT Women’s Championship.”

Do you think Belair can do it? Will she be walking out of Phoenix victorious?

Bianca Belair Mocks Shayna Baszler Over UFC Losses

Bianca Belair recently took to Twitter to make fun of her rival Shayna Baszler. Belair will be facing Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship after she earned the opportunity by winning a fatal four-way match on NXT.

Shayna had recently tweeted a picture saying “UFC IS FAKE” during UFC 232.

UFC 232 featured a match between Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes and Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg. Nunes won the match and became the Featherweight Champion, making her the first person to hold two championships from different divisions.

These two women also happen to be Shayna’s opponents in the past in UFC, where she lost her matches against them. Bianca took this opportunity to get into Baszler’s head by mocking her losses in the UFC:

Shayna responded with asking Belair how many fights she has been a part of:

This continued until another former MMA fighter Jessamyn Duke came in:

Shayna Baszler will be meeting face-to-face with Bianca Belair in the ring at NXT TakeOver: Phoenix on January 26 from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. The match up will be interesting to see after all that heated talk between the two. Make sure to check out SEScoops for the coverage.

Charlotte Flair Takes Shots At 4-Horsewomen Of MMA On Twitter

Judging on what is happening on social media right now, we could still get a 4-Horsewomen vs 4-Horsewomen feud sometime soon. A match between the two factions was rumored for much of the year to occur at Survivor Series but never came to pass.

Charlotte Flair posted the following earlier today, insinuating she’d like to do to Baszler, Duke, and Shafir the same thing she did to Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series.

Flair also responded to a photo Baszler had posted of her faction along with Ric Flair.

Shayna Baszler got involved in the ongoing social media battle yesterday as well. Baszler responded to a Tweet in which she was mentioned by Becky Lynch.

“Don’t try to name drop me in this attention grab, I’m too busy holding down the division you couldn’t.

Baszler has also been quick to point out her 4-Horsewomen are more like the original group than the NXT version:

“The OG 4 horseman weren’t just simply 4 wrestlers that made history, they were friends, a real TEAM. Like us, the only ACTUAL team here. Those others, sure they made history, but they’ve never been a team. They are barely friends half the time.

This is not the first time Baszler has made such claims. She further described her opinions on the two factions earlier this year in an interview with Uproxx.

They’re not in a stable,” Bazler said to Uproxx. “We’re not just four random guys. This is my whole argument about the thing. People are like, ‘Yeah but Charlotte is Ric Flair’s daughter.’ But they weren’t just four guys that made history which the fake Four Horsewomen did. They’re four girls that made history. That’s great, but that’s not what the Four Horsemen did. They were a team. They were a stable. And we’re a team. You don’t see us needing counseling to stay friends and bickering and feuding over … You know what I mean?”

Shayna Baszler took a shot at Becky Lynch for never having won the NXT Women’s Championship today on Twitter. Lynch referenced Baszler in a previous Tweet making fun of Rousey’s social media posts. Baszler then issued a response to Lynch’s comments today.

“Don’t try to name drop me in this attention grab, I’m too busy holding down the division you couldn’t.

As for Lynch, earlier today she commented on her appearance on WWE.com’s “Best Men” list:

Shayna Baszler, 4-Horsewomen of MMA…in WWE

All 4 Horsewomen of MMA are currently under WWE contract. Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir began training at the WWE Performance Center back in May.

Baszler commented on the difference between the 4 Horsewomen of MMA and the NXT version earlier this year.

• Shayna Baszler Comments On “Fickle” WWE Fans Booing Ronda Rousey At Survivor Series

Shayna Baszler Comments On “Fickle” WWE Fans Booing Ronda Rousey At Survivor Series

WWE NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler kept a close eye on WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey battling former SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in the co-headliner of this year’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center on the WWE Network.

The finish of the match saw Flair being DQ after using a kendo stick on Ronda then turned heel after the match by attacking her. During the match, the crowd was interested in and voiced several chants throughout it. However, following the attack, fans were chanting “Thank You Charlotte” and booing Rousey while she walked up the ramp to make her way to the backstage area.

Ronda’s fellow Four Horsewoman, Baszler, took to Twitter to react to the crowd booing the RAW Women’s Champion.

She wrote, “Fans are fickle. Always have been, always will be.” “If there’s one thing we all learned from MMA: fans are fickle. Eff them. #4HW.” “Sure, WWE fans are fickle. But trust me when I say this, UFC fans are worse. We came into this used to fickle. #LoyaltyIsEverything.”

Baszler beat Kairi Sane in a Two-Out-Of-Three Falls Match at NXT TakeOver: WarGames II event in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center. It’s likely that this feud is over and that this is the blowoff to this feud.
