The NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler went into the NXT TakeOver: Wargames pay-per-view event to defend her title against her challenger Kairi Sane in a 2 out of 3 falls match.

In a backstage interview after the match, Baszler declared herself the most dominant woman in the division.

As Cathy Kelly mentioned the fact that Baszler was able to secure the win with the help of the Horsewomen, Baszler interrupted her mid-sentence.
“Listen, I am the most dominant woman that this division has ever seen. The only two-time defending champion. Ask me more about that and we can do these interviews, okay?”

She also expressed that she was more than confident about her victory when asked.

Shayna Baszler Retains NXT Women’s Title At TakeOver: WarGames II

There is only one WWE NXT Women’s Champion and that’s Shayna Baszler. As seen at Saturday’s (November 17, 2018) NXT TakeOver: WarGames II event in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center on the WWE Network, Shayna Baszler beat Kairi in a Two-Out-Of-Three Falls Match. It’s likely that this feud is over and that this is the blowoff to this feud.

    https://twitter.com/WWE/status/1063951119091621888

There is a lot of history between these two stars. Sane defeated Baszler in the tournament finals of the first Mae Young Classic that took place last year. She was then signed by the WWE and placed in the NXT brand. Sane beat Baszler at WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 event in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center to win the title. Baszler then won the title back at the Evolution pay-per-view event in Long Island, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in October.

Baszler is the ninth champion in the history of the NXT Women’s Title as the first champion was Paige in 2013. Baszler held the title during her first reign for 133 days after beating Ember Moon to win it at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans during WrestleMania 34 weekend on April 7, 2018 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

What are your thoughts on WWE keeping the title on Baszler? Sound off in the comment section.

Shayna Baszler Leaves Evolution On Crutches, Questionable For Takeover

Shayna Baszler was seen leaving the Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum last night after Evolution. Early speculation is she suffered a sprained ankle. An injury could mean the NXT Women’s Champion might not be able to compete in 18 days at Takeover: WarGames.

Baszler’s injury was addressed today on Wrestling Observer Live.

“Shayna injured her ankle during the match,” Bryan Alvarez said. “And I don’t know the extent of it. She was at the airport this morning on crutches. She is very much downplaying it because she is Shayna Baszler and this is what MMA fighters do. But she is scheduled to be evaluated today and we will find out if it is bad enough to keep her off the Takeover show. We’ll find out but something happened to her ankle in the match last night.”

    Shayna Baszler NXT Women’s Champion

Shayna Baszler defeated Kairi Sane last night at Evolution to re-gain the NXT Women’s Championship.

It was the fourth time Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler have met in single’s competition. They are 2-2 against each other.

    1. Kairi Sane defeated Shayna Baszler – Mae Young Classic Final 2017 (September 12th, 2017)
    2. Shayna Bazler defeated Kairi Sane (NXT February 2nd, 2018)
    3. Kairi Sane defeated Shayna Baszler (c) (Title Change- Takeover: Brooklyn IV)

Shayna Baszler Wins NXT Women’s Title At WWE Evolution

There is a new WWE NXT Women’s Champion and that’s Shayna Baszler, who beat Kari Sane to win the title at Sunday’s (October 28, 2018) WWE Evolution pay-per-view event in Long Island, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on the WWE Network.

Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir were involved in the finish of this match. This marks the second reign for Baszler as the NXT champion.

If you recall, Sane defeated Baszler in the tournament finals of the first Mae Young Classic that took place last year. She was then signed by the WWE and placed in the NXT brand. Sane beat Baszler at WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 event in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center to win the title.

Baszler held the title during her first reign for 133 days after beating Ember Moon to win it at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans during WrestleMania 34 weekend on April 7, 2018 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

It’s likely that Sane will get her rematch for the gold on an upcoming episode of NXT or perhaps next month at the next Takeover special. The NXT TakeOver: WarGames event takes place on Saturday, November 17, 2018. This show goes down in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center and will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks.

  • Shayna Baszler Blasts 4 Horsewomen Of NXT

Shayna Baszler Blasts 4 Horsewomen Of NXT

Former NXT Women’s Champion, Shayna Baszler, recently took a shot at the 4 Horsewomen of NXT. During the inaugural Mae Young Classic, Baszler’s 4 Horsewomen of MMA got into a posturing-battle of sorts with the version consisting of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Sasha Banks.

Baszler took a stab at her faction’s rivals during a recent interview with Uproxx.

They’re not in a stable,” Bazler said in reference to the NXT Horsewomen. “We’re not just four random guys. This is my whole argument about the thing. People are like, ‘Yeah but Charlotte is Ric Flair’s daughter.’ But they weren’t just four guys that made history which the fake Four Horsewomen did. They’re four girls that made history. That’s great, but that’s not what the Four Horsemen did. They were a team. They were a stable. And we’re a team. You don’t see us needing counseling to stay friends and bickering and feuding over … You know what I mean?”

    Shayna Baszler in WWE 2K19

Baszler recently made her video game debut in WWE 2K19. An avid gamer, Baszler and Jessamyn Duke regularly stream games on their Twitch channel. She was asked if her move-set in the game is reflective of her real one.

“Obviously I spent a lot more time developing my in-ring style here at the [WWE Performance Center]. So even since the game, this new game, came out, I think I would probably be different than that. But it’s pretty wild to just be a selectable character. And to think my nieces can select me and play as me, that’s weird to think of.”

Four Horsewomen Of MMA Team Up At NXT Live Event (Photos)

We’re one step closer to a Four Horsewomen of MMA vs. Four Horsewomen of WWE match.

The Four Horsewomen of MMA are fairly new to professional wrestling. Ronda Rousey, Marina Shafir, Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler are all currently inked to WWE deals. Rousey currently reigns as RAW Women’s Champion on the main roster.

The remaining three reside on NXT, with Baszler coming off a reign as NXT Women’s Champion. Shafir and Duke are just getting their feet wet inside the ring.

WWE’s eventual goal is a Four Horsewomen of MMA vs. Four Horsewomen of WWE (Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Becky Lynch) match. That bout has been speculated for Survivor Series later this year.

Yesterday Baszler, Duke and Shafir teamed up to defeat Nikki Cross, Io Shirai and Dakota Kai in a Six-Man Tag Team match at an NXT live event. Check out some photos from the match here:

  • Shayna Baszler Wants To Face The 4 Horsewomen of NXT

Shayna Baszler Wants To Face The 4 Horsewomen of NXT

Current NXT Women’s Champion, Shayna Baszler, has turned heads with her talent and ability since competing in the Mae Young Classic last year. Baszler made it all the way to the finals of the tournament before being defeated by Kairi Sane.

Now with the second Mae Young Classic due to air on the WWE Network in a few weeks, Baszler is getting ready to face Kairi Sane again. This time, it will be Baszler defending her championship against Sane at Takeover.

During the first Mae Young Classic, however, Baszler’s 4 Horsewomen of MMA faction got into an altercation with the 4 Horsewomen of NXT. Despite this, a feud between the two similarly named teams never came to fruition. With both Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke now competing in NXT as well, however, the idea of the Horsewomen feud has been brought up again. Baszler addressed the potential angle herself recently during an interview with Inside the Ropes.

Shayna Baszler Horsewomen vs Horsewomen Feud

Baszler was asked about the potential angle and had the following to say:

“If they want it to happen, the four of us are fighters,” Baszler said. “We’ve never turned down any sort of fight. They want to argue about who’s the “4 Horsewomen” and what and who owns it. We had it first and that’s fact. It was given to us, we didn’t just call ourselves that.”

NXT Preview 8/1: Welcome to Tommaso Ciampa’s NXT

He’s arguably the most talked about heel in the business right now. Not only that, Tommaso Ciampa is the new NXT Champion. His era begins tonight on NXT.

Last week, Ciampa defeated Aleister Black after Johnny Gargano accidentally(?) hit Black in the face with the title belt. This week, Ciampa will address the NXT Universe.

NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa Addresses The NXT Universe

The new champion will address the NXT Universe tonight. What will Ciampa have to say about the former champion and his longtime rival who inadvertently helped him win the belt?

    EC3 vs Kona Reeves

EC3 will face Kona Reeves in single’s action tonight. This was built-up in a backstage segment where Reeves stated EC3’s clothes were nice but they were not the finest.

This will be EC3’s 4th televised match since returning to NXT. He is 3-1 thus far with his only loss coming to Johnny Gargano. He’s defeated Raul Mendoza, Fabian Aichner, and Kassius Ohno.

As for Reeves, he’s on a 3-match winning streak. Granted, those 3 wins came over Max Humberto, Raul Mendoza, and Patrick Scott. They are the only single’s victories he has on NXT programming.

    Shayna Baszler vs Candice LeRae

Candice LeRae could likely earn a future title shot against Baszler with a win in this non-title match tonight. LeRae recently defeated Lacey Evans on NXT. She’s also defeated Zelina Vega but dropped a match to Bianca Belair.

As for Baszler, she’s been sitting at 118 days as champion with title defenses over Dakota Kai, Nikki Cross, and Toni Storm.

    Heavy Machiner vs the Mighty

These two teams have met once previously on NXT programming. The Mighty used under-handed dirty tactics to defeat Heavy Machinery back in May.

The Mighty are also suspected to be behind the attack to Tucker Knight which put him out of action for several weeks.

    Moustache Mountain Return To Action

The former tag-team champions return to NXT for the first time since losing the titles back to the Undisputed Era a couple of weeks ago. Tyler Bate threw in the towel to save his mentor, Trent Seven. How will that impact the team’s dynamic moving forward? We should find out more regarding that tonight.

  • NXT Champion Backstage At Raw

    NXT Champion Backstage At Raw

NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler was backstage at this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw from Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Her presence appeared to be a casual visit from the hometown star, that was until the company decided to acknowledge it officially and posted a backstage interview with her.

In the interview, she was asked about the reason for her surprise visit to Raw but the Champion decided that she doesn’t need to explain herself to anybody:

” Maybe I’m scoping out some different competition. Maybe I have a friend that can’t be here for 30 days and needs eyes. The point is I’m NXT women’s champion and I don’t need to explain myself to you or anybody.”

This sudden appearance from Baszler is destined to start some speculations and after the interview, the big question is if this is the start of a new storyline, leading to her main roster debut?

Though we’re still short on details so it’s hard to say anything for sure and we’ll have to follow the WWE programming closely in upcoming weeks to know anything for certain. You can check out her interview in the video below:

Shayna Baszler Talks Possibly Working With The Four Horsewomen Of MMA

NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler recently did an interview with Rock Sins during NXT’s run at the Download Festival over the weekend to talk about several professional wrestling topics. Baszler first discussed her transition from mixed martial arts (MMA) over to professional wrestling:

“It’s been smoother I think because I’m a catch wrestler, I’ve been a catch wrestler in MMA, Josh Barnett my main head coach for like 12 years he is a professional wrestler as well as a fighter. Bill Robinson would teach us for mixed martial arts as well as sports entertainment, this is what I’ve been in for a while so I think I have a leg up on people that are like ‘I fight MMA, I think I like this so I’m gonna try it’ I’ve been involved in this a lot longer than people realize as far as the training and the working for it too.”

She then talked about working in front of a British crowd and a Download Festival crowd that might not be all fans of professional wrestling:

“Yeah, I think you have to work a little bit to show who you are because they don’t just know, but that’s the stuff I did in MMA, so it’s not unfamiliar to me to let people know who I am. It’s also interesting because a British crowd is different to an American crowd, so that aspect has been more mind-blowing to me than the fact that it’s at a music festival and not a traditional wrestling show.”

Finally, Baszler was asked about the possibility of working with the other MMA Four Horsewomen in WWE:

“It’s a little of both. I’m not going to sidetrack off of my path and the things I’m doing and what I want to accomplish, but who doesn’t want their friends with them at work every day, so it’s awesome, and it’s what we’ve done, once we were living together and training together and we clicked the four of us after the Ultimate Fighter.

“It’s like when Ronda was UFC Champion and Jess was in Invicta and we were all kind of doing our own thing in MMA as well as supporting so it’s kind of the same thing just on the other side of the coin.”

Shayna Baszler Reveals The Biggest Difference Between MMA & Professional Wrestling

Former mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Shayna Baszler recently did an interview with the Argus Leader to discuss her transition from fighting to professional wrestling. Baszler is better known for being one of former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey’s best friends and being a part of The Four Horsewomen of MMA. She recently took part in the Mae Young Classic tournament in which she was a finalist.

During the interview Baszler discussed the biggest difference between MMA and professional wrestling:

“In MMA, you’re trained to tune the audience out. In sports entertainment, you’re trained to feed off what the audience is thinking and feeling,” Baszler said. “There’s a lot more emphasis about making the crowd feel certain emotions about certain things. In sports entertainment, you can take your time and digest what’s going on along with the audience. It’s really learning that you don’t have to be in this panic mode.”

A member of the ‘MMA Four Horsewomen’ and former training partner of Ronda Rousey, Baszler described WWE as the next step in her progression as a combat athlete.

“It’s very serious to me and, in some ways, a lot more important [than MMA] based on where I come from,” Baszler said. “Waving the banner of my coaches is a heavy flag to wield, so it’s something I take very serious.”

“Because of that, I wanted to start at the beginning and show that I’m willing to start at the bottom and prove myself and work my way up, so there’s no excuse when I get here and I’m breaking these girls in half. I didn’t get any ‘gimmes.’”
