WWE Superstar Shotzi has provided fans with a much-anticipated update on her injury and potential return to the ring. After suffering a severe knee injury earlier this year, Shotzi has been on the road to recovery and recently shared a hopeful update on her progress.
The Injury and Its Impact
Shotzi sustained a significant ACL tear during the February 13, 2024, WWE NXT taping. The injury occurred while she was executing her apron DDT move in a match against Lyra Valkyria.
This unfortunate incident led to her being pulled from an Elimination Chamber qualifying match, where she was eventually replaced by Alba Fyre.
Shotzi’s Recovery Journey
In a recent update shared on her Instagram Stories, Shotzi provided a glimpse into her recovery process. She posted a photo showing her undergoing a cupping therapy session, which is a part of her rehabilitation.
Along with the image, she included a reassuring message: “Just a few more months.” This suggests that while she is making progress, her return to in-ring action is still a few months away.
What’s Next for Shotzi?
While Shotzi’s fans are eager to see her back in the ring, her message indicates that her recovery is on track but will require a bit more time.
This injury has certainly been a setback, but her optimistic update provides hope that she will make a strong return.
WWE has not yet announced a specific return date, but based on her timeline, fans can expect her to potentially make a comeback in late 2024 or early 2025.
WWE Superstar Shotzi is hoping that the usage of Stem Cell Therapy will help her undo a significant issue with her back that has bothered her for years.
Shotzi is in Mexico to get stem cell treatment and has said she’s been wanting the treatment for two and a half years after previously suffering a back injury. Shotzi tore her ACL during an episode of WWE NXT that has kept the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion on the shelf ever since. In a silver-lining moment, Shotzi’s time away due to her ACL injury has given her time to focus on healing her back.
Shotzi hasn’t competed since February 2024.
Stem Cells & Wrestling
Several notable names in wrestling have been aided with stem cell therapy. This list includes WWE Hall of Famers Rob Van Dam, Rey Mysterio, and Kevin Nash. This month, MVP shared that he was undergoing stem cell treatment in Mexico and made clear that he isn’t finished in the ring yet.
In 2019, shortly before his return to the ring, Adam Copeland said he had been looking into stem cell therapy. At the time Copeland was optimistic that he COULD return to the ring within five years but as we all know, he returned far sooner than that 2024 prediction.
Stem Cells: What Are They?
Stem Cells have two main features that make them valuable in treatments such as these: they are self-replicating and can become various types of cells. Stem Cells are also considered controversial as there have been debates as to the ethics of research involving the development and use of human embryos. Not all stem cell research involves human embryos.

WWE opted to air the heartbreaking moment Shotzi suffered an injury on this week’s NXT which resulted in her match being called off.
This week’s episode of WWE NXT was actually filmed last week to allow NXT higher-ups time to travel to Australia for this weekend’s WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth premium live event. During the taping, Shotzi’s match with NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria was called off and it was reported that she’d suffered a severe injury.
Shotzi’s Injury
With this week’s NXT being taped in advance, there were questions as to whether WWE would air the spot in question or even the match. During last night’s show, those questions were answered as the match did air. The unfortunate spot saw Shotzi bounce from the ring to the outside and immediately clutched her foot, proving that it doesn’t take some high-risk move in wrestling for an injury to happen.
Shotzi’s match had to be called off due to the injury. WWE NXT General Manager Ava announced that the fans deserved to see a title match and made an open challenge. This was answered by Lash Legend who had competed earlier in the show. Despite having no prep time, Legend and Lyra Valkyria put on a fine match that saw the Valkyrie retain her title.
WWE’s NXT brand saw Shotzi return for a match against Lyra Valkyria, and that did not end well at all. The WWE Superstar was injured, and she suffered a serious knee injury. Now, she is going under the knife to repair the damage. That match will air tonight, Feb 20th, on the USA Network’s weekly show.
Shotzi Blackheart’s Injury
The injury for Shotzi prompted WWE to alter plans, as she was originally scheduled to compete in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying match against Tiffany Stratton on SmackDown. For what it’s worth, it was always the plan to have Stratton in the Chamber match.
According to PW Insider, reports circulating at Monday Night Raw suggested that Shotzi had traveled to Birmingham, Alabama, possibly for knee surgery. WWE often sends injured wrestlers to Birmingham for surgical procedures.
The word making the rounds at yesterday’s Monday Night Raw taping was that Shotzi was in Birmingham, Alabama ahead of a possible (likely) knee surgery after getting hurt on the WWE NXT episode that will air tonight.
Now, the charismatic WWE Superstar will have to wait in the wings for a majority of 2024 as she recovers. Only time will tell how much momentum she comes back with, but fans will certainly be more than excited to see her return happen.
Everyone at SE Scoops is wishing Shotzi the best on her recovery.
Update: Shotzi Confirms Injury
Shotzi got on Instagram to share that she tore her ACL.
Paul Heyman has a long history of managing clients in the pro wrestling world. The Bloodline might not last forever, especially as the road to WrestleMania 40 becomes even more tumultuous. There are many more Superstars in WWE who may benefit from Heyman’s guidance, and we collected a list to explore a few options.
Throughout his career, Heyman has managed many top names including Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Kurt Angle, Big Show, Rob Van Dam, The Dudley Boyz, Steve Austin, Rick Rude, and Matt Hardy. Additionally, Heyman has had stints managing factions such as The Dangerous Alliance in WCW and The Dangerous Alliance and The Alliance in WWE. That doesn’t even count his position as The Bloodline’s Wise Man.
Brock Lesnar is no longer in any WWE creative plans due to his name being connected to Janel Grant’s lawsuit. I asked just last week and was able to confirm that is still the case, and Lesnar’s name is not coming up in any creative fashion. Since the Beast Incarnate’s return to WWE might take a long while, let’s see who might be next for Heyman if the Bloodline implodes.
Bron Breakker
It seems that Breakker is the #1 candidate to become the next Paul Heyman Guy after The Wise Man’s Bloodline tenure is over. Heyman paid special attention to Breakker during SmackDown, as he made extra effort to introduce himself. Heyman and Breakker also had a segment on NXT months ago. The former NXT Champion also has all the tools needed to become a breakout star for the main roster once he can get things moving for himself after his NXT obligations are over.
GUNTHER
GUNTHER’s imposing presence and hard-hitting style would make him a perfect candidate for Paul Heyman’s stable. Heyman could amplify the IC Champion’s intimidating persona and help him become a dominant force in WWE, both in the ring and on the microphone. The Ring General has a pretty great thing going with Imperium right now, but that stable has showed signs of cracks in the past, and GUNTHER’s domination in WWE will not end with the stable’s eventual demise.
Pete Dunne
The former Butch is known for his intense in-ring style and captivating presence. Triple H gave Pete Dunne is name back, and the Brawling Brutes is now over. He teamed up with Tyler Bate, and they are getting a chance as a tandem. Some would say that Dunne may thrive under Paul Heyman’s guidance. Heyman could help Dunne further develop his character and storytelling abilities, solidifying his status as a top star in WWE.
Dexter Lumis
With his unique character and silent intensity, Dexter Lumis would be an intriguing addition to Paul Heyman’s stable. Heyman could help Lumis further develop his character and storytelling abilities, positioning him as a standout star in WWE. If anything, it would give Lumis something to do. I’ve asked around about his status many times, and I’ve been told that he’s not injured. Hopefully, WWE will figure out a way to use the serial killer with a heart of gold soon.
Raquel Rodriguez
As the current NXT Women’s Champion, Raquel Rodriguez has already proven herself as a dominant force in WWE. With Paul Heyman’s guidance, she could further elevate her character and mic skills, establishing herself as a top star on the main roster. She hasn’t been able to find her footing on the main roster since her call-up, although she has seen glimpses of good booking. Perhaps, Heyman advocating for her may do the trick.
Shotzi Blackheart
With her unique look, high-flying style, and charismatic personality, Shotzi Blackheart would be an excellent addition to Paul Heyman’s stable of clients. Heyman could help Blackheart refine her character and mic skills, positioning her as a standout star in WWE’s women’s division. Sadly, Shotzi is out of action with a knee injury which will keep her on the shelf for a majority of 2024, but her return as a Paul Heyman Girl may be just what she needs.
Rhea Ripley
The Nightmare could be a good fit as a Paul Heyman Girl due to her distinct appearance, impressive in-ring skills, and ability on the microphone. Ripley’s unique look and imposing presence make her stand out performer. With Heyman’s guidance, Ripley could further develop her in-ring storytelling and refine her microphone skills, enhancing her ability to connect with the audience and establish herself as a dominant force in the women’s division. She is currently in the Judgment Day, but that stable may open the door to Heyman swooping in eventually.
There are many options for WWE Superstars that would make fine Paul Heyman clients. SEScoops will have continued coverage of WWE, just in case any of these prospective pairings becomes a reality.
WWE SmackDown Superstar Shotzi has shared her heartbreak after her recent injury robbed her of a potential spot in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match.
This injury meant that Shotzi could not compete at this week’s SmackDown, where she was set to compete in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Had Shotzi won this qualifier and won inside the Chamber, she would have competed for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 40.
Taking to Twitter, Shotzi expressed her disappointment over being robbed of such a golden opportunity.
I don’t have much to say right now other than I am devastated. It’s heartbreaking to be missing my Elimination Chamber opportunity tonight. But I just wanted to wish all the women competing good luck. I’ll open up more about how I’m feeling and my injury later. @WWE
With Shotzi out of the picture, this week’s SmackDown saw Naomi and Tiffany Stratton qualify for the match with victories over Alba Fyre and Zelina Vega respectively. Naomi and Stratton now join Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Liv Morgan. A battle royal will determine the final entrant in the match.
WWE NXT management was left “in a panic” after Shotzi suffered an injury during next week’s taping of the gold brand.
The February 20, 2024, episode was taped this week as WWE wants several notable people around for WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth next week. During the tapings, Shotzi challenged NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria.
Unfortunately, Shotzi suffered a knee injury while attempting her apron DDT. This resulted in the match being stopped midway. It was later confirmed that, unlike Ridge Holland and Ilja Dragunov, this injury is not a work.
Update on Shotzi’s WWE NXT Injury
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed Shotzi’s injury and said those at the taping were left in a panic when her situation arose.
“They were in a panic. They were stalling to try to figure out what to do. And maybe nobody else was ready. And she had just wrestled. Maybe she was in her gear. Maybe nobody else was in their gear.”
Meltzer added that Shotzi has been pulled from the Women’s Elimination Chamber qualifying match on this week’s SmackDown she was supposed to be a part of. He added:
“I don’t know the severity of the Shotzi injury. But I do know that she left the building on crutches. And it was a knee injury.”
There’s no word on when fans can expect to see Shotzi back in the ring. We at SE Scoops would like to wish her a full and speedy recovery.
Shotzi recently got married in Las Vegas and celebrated in a very WWE way…

– WWE released Matt Camp from his contract sometime last week. This news broke on February 14th, and it was also a big shock for many. Camp never missed an episode of The Bump, and his departure was not mentioned on this week’s show, either.’ We’ve updated our WWE Releases tracker to reflect this departure.
– Jade Cargill was removed from her planned spot in the Elimination Chamber match. Cargill made her in-ring debut at the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble and was slated to be part of the upcoming Chamber match from Australia, based on a graphic that leaked on WWE.com showing the participants. This would have been another chance to feature Cargill in a multi-person match that would have protected her, but it seems those plans have been scrapped.
– Shotzi Blackheart was legit injured during the NXT television taping this week. She seriously hurt her knee, and reports later confirmed that she left the NXT Arena on crutches. We’re still awaiting word on her condition.

this is NOT the first time Sammy Guevara has injured Jeff Hardy with his amateur hour bullshit

WWE’s NXT brand pre-taped next week’s episode already, and that included a packed night of action for fans. Sadly, one match did not turn out as anyone would have liked, as Shotzi battled Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Title.
Shotzi sustained a knee injury while attempting her apron DDT during tonight’s taping for next week’s WWE NXT Championship match. She will undergo evaluation to confirm the severity of the injury.
Fightful’s Corey Brennan reported that the NXT Women’s Title match needed to be stopped midway through the contest.
Shotzi and Lyra Valkyria’s NXT Women’s Title match during tonight’s second #WWENXT taping was stopped due to a serious knee injury suffered by Shotzi.
Shotzi and Lyra Valkyria's NXT Women's Title match during tonight's second #WWENXT taping was stopped due to a serious knee injury suffered by Shotzi.
Shotzi had been slated to compete against Tiffany Stratton in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match on this week’s WWE SmackDown, but the status of the match is now uncertain. For what it’s worth, I was able to confirm that Tiffany Stratton is in the Chamber match, so Shotzi was likely losing her qualifying match anyway.
Fightful Select later noted that this is not a work. Shotzi was in a ton of pain backstage, and she wasn’t able to place any weight on her leg.
After speaking to several sources in NXT, Corey Brennan was able to confirm that Shotzi was not able to place weight on her injured knee and was forced to hop to the back with assistance from WWE’s medical team. It was apparent when Shotzi arrived backstage that she was in a large amount of pain. Officials backstage were said to be very concerned for Shotzi and she was immediately taken for medical evaluation.
SE Scoops will provide more updates as information is made available.
Next Week’s WWE NXT
Next week’s episode of NXT promises to be a good episode. Apart from the NXT Women’s Title match, former WWE NXT Women’s champion Roxanne Perez will take on Wren Sinclair.
On the men’s side, NXT will feature a singles bout between Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, which may finally close the book on their story. Additionally, following their face-to-face confrontation on tonight’s episode, Lexis King will challenge NXT North American champion Oba Femi for his title.
Shotzi has quite a time in Las Vegas when WWE rolled through town for a live event on December 29th. The SmackDown Superstar got married while she was in Sin City, and she didn’t even have time to change out of her wedding dress before her match.
Shotzi’s journey in NXT was marked by her captivating character and impressive in-ring abilities, earning her a devoted fan following. Beyond the squared circle, her personal life recently took a significant turn as she tied the knot.
Shotzi Gets Married
Fans were cheering on Shotzi since news of her engagement broke in July. The anticipation surrounding her impending wedding naturally led to speculation about when the big day would finally arrive.
During the live event in Las Vegas, Shotzi’s joy was obvious as she stepped into the ring wearing her wedding dress. The celebratory atmosphere was further heightened as she teamed up with Bianca Belair.
Shotzi wrestled in her wedding dress after getting married yesterday
Shotzi and Bianca Belair went on to defeat Bayley & Iyo Sky in tag team action. The combination of personal happiness and professional success made for a memorable moment for both Shotzi and her fans.
WWE’s Live Holiday Tour rolled through the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on December 29th. Fans packed the venue to see WWE action, and Shotzi had a very special time in Sin City.
Shotzi Gets Married
Shotzi shared on Instagram that she got married in Las Vegas right before the WWE live event. This was a surprise for fans, but we have no word on whether she rode a tank down the aisle.
On Instagram, Shotzi said she got married in Las Vegas and would go straight to work after. WWE had a live event in the area, and Shotzi took advantage of the location for a very personal reason.
“JUST MARRIED! When I realized I would be performing in Vegas, we decided to elope before the show. It was very spontaneous and so perfectly us. I loved every second of it. I’ll post something a little mushier later but its now time for an action packed reception!”
They say, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. That really only works if you don’t enter into a legally binding contract of matrimony.
Shotzi has been teaming up with Bianca Belair in tag matches against Bayley and IYO SKY at recent live events. She continues getting a good reaction from fans, but those in Las Vegas tonight had another reason to get excited to see her; because Shotzi is a newly married woman with a lot to celebrate.
WWE Superstars are enjoying the holidays, and Shotzi made the most of it by tying the knot. The unexpected wedding added a unique twist to her already eventful year. This latest eloping move on Shotzi’s part only goes to solidify her reputation of marching to the beat of her own drum.
Over the last month, Shotzi has been in a feud with Ronda Rousey on WWE television.
Shotzi challenged for Rousey’s SmackDown Women’s Championship at Survivor Series WarGames, but came up short.
WWE shot an angle recently before an episode of SmackDown where Shotzi was shown lying in the parking lot while holding her hand and screaming in pain as Rousey and Shayna Bazsler walked away., implying that Rousey and Shayna slammed Shotzi’s arm in a car door, injuring it in the process. Rousey and Baszler injured Raquel Rodriguez’s arm a couple of weeks prior.
Reality
Shotzi was pulled from television and later shared an X-ray of her hand to show the broken bones. While at first, it looked like the injury was just part of the storyline, that’s not the case.
According to a report by Pwinsider.com, the injury is legit and led to the angle in the first place. The extent of her injury and how she got injured is not known at this time.
The injury came at a bad time as she was being pushed on the main roster with her tank along for the ride.
We wish her a speedy recovery and hope to see her back in the ring soon.

The list of injuries continues to grow on WWE SmackDown.
Last month, Natalya took a nasty knee to the face from “The Queen of Spades” Shayna Baszler during a bout on SmackDown. As a result, “The Queen of Harts” sustained a dislocated nose. She would undergo nasal surgery a few days later to center it back, and will reportedly miss at least three months of in-ring action.
A few weeks later, Raquel Gonzalez fell to a similar fate. Ahead of Survivor Series: WarGames, Gonzalez was slated to team with Shotzi in a tag team match against SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, and her ally, Shayna Baszler. On November 25, Rousey and Baszler attacked Gonzalez backstage before their scheduled match, rendering her unable to further compete. WWE later announced that Gonzalez had suffered a broken arm and a dislocated elbow, effectively sidelining her for four to six weeks.
It was later reported by Fightful that Gonzalez’s injuries were “purely storyline.” Gonzalez was recently seen bandaged and taped up during her win over Shayna Baszler at a WWE live event in Charleston, West Virginia this past weekend.
Last week on SmackDown, Shayna Baszler was scheduled to square off with “The Ballsy Badass” Shotzi, but things didn’t go as planned. Prior to the show in Pittsburgh, Ronda Rousey joined Baszler in assaulting Shotzi in the arena parking lot, slamming her hand in a car door as Shotzi writhed in pain.
Following the attack, Shotzi revealed an x-ray of her broken hand, indicating she would be put on the shelf for six weeks. A six-week turnaround would accordingly put Shotzi in line to return ahead of, or maybe at, WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 28, 2023.
Ronda Rousey says she put a lot of effort into her Survivor Series match against Shotzi and feels terrible about the way things played out.
Rousey put her SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against the #1 contender back on November 26. The match was widely criticized for looking sloppy and unprofessional, but it was an awkward DDT on the ring apron that got the most attention. Wrestling pundits and fans roasted Rousey on social media, with some of them calling for her to be fired.
The Baddest Woman on the Planet addressed the match during her latest YouTube stream. She explains there were some difficulties preparing for the bout, the match itself was abruptly cut short and doesn’t understand why she’s getting more flack than certain male performers who have injured their opponents.
Rousey said she’s the one who pitched the infamous apron DDT spot, because she knows it’s something Shotzi does in a lot of her matches. She has her own wrestling ring for training, but was unable to rehearse the DDT because the ropes on her ring are too lose.
“I fucked it up because I was so concerned with keeping somebody safe. A lot of time, when you see me do something for the first time, it’s the first time I ever did it. I was really concerned with keeping Shotzi safe and I made it look bad. You know what, sorry. Apparently, I deserve to be fired or burned. It reminds me of Monty Python, ‘BURN HER!'”
– Ronda Rousey
According to Rousey, there’s a double standard when it comes to critiquing female pro wrestlers. Nobody called for Ridge Holland to be fired when he accidentally broke Big E’s neck, but people are calling for her to be released after a match she admits didn’t live up to expextations.
“There weren’t calls to fire anybody when Madcap Moss and Big E were spiked on their heads,” said Rousey. “‘BURN HER ANYWAY!’ I’m so sorry that I was so concerned with keeping someone safe that I made the bump look bad.”
Rousey was especially bummed because the crowd in Boston was hostile towards her and she loves winning over a hostile crowd. Unfortunately, time constraints and the pacing of the show led WWE officials to call an audible and cut their match short before they could continue winning the crowd back.
“I was bummed though because we worked on that match for two weeks and we were really excited about it,” she said. “I felt like I really failed Shotzi. I really wanted to showcase her shit and make all of her shit look great and show everyone how great she is. That’s one of the main reasons I wanted to comeback for this run, to showcase the new talent.”
Rousey says the match fans saw is not the match they had planned out. A few spots went wrong and fans are judging them on an incomplete product.
“We literally only had eight minutes to do everything. When we hit eight minutes, ‘alright, you gotta go,’ I’m not gonna argue. They pay me to show up and do what they say to do. I’m bummed though. I feel like I failed Shotzi. Sorry. I’ll do better. I’ll make it up to her. I’ll let her beat my ass.”
Ronda Rousey will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Shotzi tonight at WWE Survivor Series.
WWE Survivor Series 2022 Preview
Shotzi earned the title match by winning a Six-Pack Challenge on a recent edition of SmackDown. Ronda Rousey has aligned with Shayna Baszler on the blue brand and the Queen of Spades brutally attacked Raquel Rodriguez last night on WWE SmackDown.
Raquel still showed up to be Shotzi’s partner in their tag team match against Ronda and Shayna, but wound up tapping out to an Armbar from the champion.
Ahead of her match against Ronda Rousey tonight at Survivor Series, Shotzi appeared on WWE’s The Bump and said she was dedicating the match tonight to her fathers.
It has been a really tough year and I’m finally feeling like I am finding myself again. And being in this position really proves that.
So I just have both my dads in mind this whole match. This is dedicated to them and this is everything that they have ever dreamed of.
WWE Survivor Series airs live tonight from the TD Garden in Boston, MA. The card features a men’s and women’s WarGames match, two title matches, and a grudge match.

Our live coverage will begin alongside WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2022 in the link below.
Social media can be a toxic place. This rings especially true for female celebrities, who are often the subject of targeted harassment.
This weekend, WWE Superstar Shotzi deactivated her Twitter account (again) to get away from online negativity.
The controversy began when Shotzi had a tense exchange with on-screen rival, SmackDown Women’s champion Liv Morgan. Morgan referenced Shotzi deactivating her Twitter account earlier this year, which led to the green-haired grappler firing back with an allegation that caused a lot of commotion on Wrestling Twitter.
Shotzi Claims Liv Morgan Got Ruby Soho Fired
Shotzi claims that Morgan is responsible for getting Ruby Soho released by WWE in June 2011.She told Morgan that she won’t be the next “green haired tattooed girl” to get run over. In fact, she’s the one that typically does the running over.
Shotzi Deactivates Twitter Again
Shotzi was attempting to stand up for her friend, but was inundated with messages calling her a bully towards Morgan.
Things spiraled out of control when some fans sent death threats. Shotzi saw this as the right time to unplug.
She said “Bye!” to her followers and sarcastically wrote that she’ll be back when she’s in the mood to “bully another one of her coworkers” again.
As noted, this is the second time this year that Shotzi decided Twitter wasn’t for her. Just last month, she took a break from social media after fans mocked her for botching spots during the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
After this latest exchange, it will be interesting to watch how Liv Morgan and Shotzi interact on WWE television. The two wrestled just days ago, on Friday’s episode of SmackDown. You can see footage from that match below.
Morgan defends the SmackDown Women’s Championship against #1 contender Shayna Baszler at the upcoming Clash at the Castle premium live event on September 3.
WWE SmackDown superstar Shotzi has given an explanation for deleting her Twitter account.
After performing in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, Shotzi received some brutal remarks over struggling at certain spots. These comments went beyond fair criticism.
Some reminded the SmackDown talent that she had poked fun at Chris Jericho’s infamous crashpad spot at the conclusion of AEW’s Blood & Guts match back in 2021.
At the time, Shotzi insisted that she was simply making a joke and she thought the match Jericho had been in was great.
What seemingly drove Shotzi to delete her Twitter account, however, were people calling for her to be fired over a few botched spots.
Shotzi Speaks Out
(via WWE)
Shotzi took to her Instagram Stories to break her silence on deleting her Twitter account. She said that simply put, all the negativity wasn’t doing her mental health any good.
“I appreciate everyone checking on me but I swear I’m fine. I have been going through the toughest year of my personal life so it’s deeper than nasty comments, but also Twitter has not helped with my already fragile mind state. Just trying to stay motivated and positive. I am focused on my goals and not what’s on the internet.”
Shotzi on leaving Twitter
The good news from that statement is that Shotzi is doing well. Perhaps removing herself from the cesspool that is Twitter will do her some good.
Despite having an off night at MITB, Shotzi was still very over in the match as the crowd cheered every time she went to climb up the ladder.
Despite the botches, Shotzi has made it clear that she’s willing to sacrifice her body for fans’ entertainment.
Shotzi Blackheart lost a non-title match to Charlotte Flair Friday night on Smackdown. Sasha Banks accidentally caused a distraction that allowed Flair to the hit Natural Selection and pick up the win. Shotzi then attacked Sasha after the match in an apparent heel turn.
Later on Talking Smack, Shotzi explained her actions.
“I am fed up, plain and simple, I am done being the happy and easy-going Shotzi. I have been screwed over on title opportunities over title opportunities. My tag partner [Tegan] left me. I came here wanting to have fun and kick ass. Well, you know what, I haven’t had fun in a really long time.”
Shotzi would later make it clear that she is now targeting Sasha Banks.
“So, there’s just one thing left to do. Sasha [Banks] was my breaking point. And now, she’s my target. I’m not letting anyone walk over me anymore. I am running over everyone in my way!”
This Friday’s match against Flair was Shotzi’s 1st televised singles match on the main roster, although she’s wrestled in 3 dark matches. Her tag-team with Tegan Nox was 3-0 on the main roster before being split up. All 3 of their victories were over Natalya & Tamina.
AEW presented the Blood & Guts double steel cage match on the May 5th edition of Dynamite. The finish saw Maxwell Jacob Friedman throw Chris Jericho off the cage. Jericho landed on padding, which some fans criticized as appearing “too safe.”
WWE Superstar Shotzi Blackheart joined in on the mockery, tweeting out this GIF of someone falling gently onto a comfortable bed.
Le Champion wasn’t pleased. He addressed Shotzi Blackheart’s apparent sign of disrespect on his Talk is Jericho podcast.
“Best of luck to anybody in our business, and anybody that bags on somebody who’s taking a chance and putting their bodies on the line can really f*** off,” Jericho said. “Especially people in the business. I could say some names.”
“There’s a couple of chicks in WWE who said some stuff and they should probably not have said that. They probably weren’t trained any better, and in 6 months they’ll probably be asking us for a job anyways and I’ll remember that, so we’ll leave it at that.”
Take A Joke, Bud!
During a recent interview with Alex McCarthy for TalkSport, Shotzi Blackheart responded to Jericho getting salty about her playful GIF.
“I meant no offence to Chris Jericho,” Shotzi stated. “I thought, honestly, the match was great. But, you know what… like, take a joke, Take a joke, bud! [laughs].”
“It’s just a GIF. Laugh at it and move on. It’s live TV. Things happen, it’s pro wrestling. Don’t take life too seriously is all I have to say.”

A wonderful chat with @ShotziWWE & @TeganNoxWWE_ where we talked the SD call-up, running away when meeting Kane & The Undertaker and in the clip below, Shotzi explains how she was just joking with Chris Jericho & meant no offence with *that* GIF.
After weeks of having NXT stars work dark matches, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina faced NXT stars Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart on this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown from Tampa, Florida at the Yuengling Center on FOX.
Blackheart got the win for her team by pinning Natalya by hitting her with the Ballpit finisher. There’s still no word yet as to whether this marked their official main roster debuts.
This was expected as the news was reported earlier in the day. This comes at a time where NXT Champion Karrion Kross, Toni Storm, Blackheart, Scarlett, Odyssey Jones and former NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed have been brought to recent TV events for WWE officials to check out.
Nox returned to the ring at Monday’s Raw TV event when she wrestled a dark match against fellow NXT star Toni Storm. The following night on NXT, she made her return to TV as she was revealed the person behind the battery charging vignettes. She continued her program with Candice LeRae after being sidelined with a torn ACL.
Kross and Reed are on WWE’s short list for main roster call-ups, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Shotzi Blackheart will serve as the host of tonight’s NXT Halloween Havoc event. The green-haired wrestler was interviewed recently by SI.com and talked about the return of the famed event, her role tonight, and more.
“I didn’t even know Halloween Havoc was coming back, but when I found out I was hosting, I was so happy I almost fainted,” Blackheart said. “It was the greatest news ever.”
She also talked about how before getting into wrestling she wanted to be a horror host like Elvira.
“My favorite match of all-time is from ’97, Guerrero–Mysterio. And before wrestling, I wanted to be a horror host, just like Elvira and Vampira, watching horror movies and making cheesy comments about them. It’s going to be reason enough to tune in just to see the Halloween outfits I’ll be wearing.”
Blackheart also spoke about what first caused her to get into wrestling during the interview. She had bee attending college as a musical-theater major when she realized wrestling was her calling.
“Theater is the vehicle that led me to pro wrestling,” Blackheart continued. “I was watching Raw, this blend of theater, violence and rock, and I asked myself, ‘Why have I not been a wrestler the entire time?’ I signed up the next day at a wrestling school.”
NXT Superstar Shotzi Blackheart unfortunately recently had her car stolen. Her car contained not only wrestling gear but also the recognizable helmet she wears during her ring entrance.
In a recent video Shotzi Blackheart uploaded to her YouTube account, she drove to where police have recovered her car. She is accompanied by fellow NXT Superstar Jake Atlas. Thankfully, her possessions—including the helmet which holds sentimental value to Blackheart—were all recovered without issue.
In the video, Blackheart is dressed in her wrestling gear and holding a toothbrush. She explained she was preparing to wrestle when she got the call that her car had been found. The video then details their journey towards the police as her nervous excitement grows.
Holding a toothbrush throughout, Blackheart inspects the car with the police. She explained how “there’s a really sentimental helmet in the trunk […] I don’t even care about the car, I just want this helmet.”
Guiding the police over the driver’s side, they open the trunk. Blackheart immediately jumps for joy having seen everything is still safely in the back of her car. She then grabbed her helmet, hugging it tightly.
When asked by an officer why the helmet mattered so much to her, Blackheart explained:
“The reason I love my helmet so much is because my first day of training it was hung up on the wall of my training facility, and every day I saw it, and then when I first started having matches, my trainers let me have the helmet. It’s been with me my entire career—I’ve taken this thing all over the world.”
