While we don’t have a lot of details at this point, WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio worked a full match at the WWE live event in Guadalajara, Mexico on Thursday night.
Mysterio teamed with Sin Cara to defeat Alberto Del Rio and Wade Barrett. It was Mysterio’s first official match back with WWE since March of this year.
We should have a full report from Thursday’s WWE live event in Guadalajara, Mexico later today.
WWE is currently running a live events tour of Mexico, with the first show taking place last night from Querataro. Here are full results from the show, which featured a few returns:
* Los Matadores beat 3MB. As you can imagine, Los Matadors were very over in Mexico.
* Wade Barrett returned to action, defeating Zack Ryder with the Bull Hammer.
* Sin Cara also returned, losing to World Heavyweight champion Alberto Del Rio. The crowd was chanting “Dos” at Del Rio and “Mistico” at Sin Cara. Del Rio won with the armbar and refused to let the hold go after the match. This brought out Rey Mysterio, who attacked Del Rio and saved Sin Cara. Rey and Sin Cara celebrated together after the match.
* Divas Champion AJ Lee defeated Natalya.
* The Wyatt Family defeated The Primetime Players.
* Damien Sandow defeated R-Truth.
* In the main event, CM Punk defeated Intercontinental champion Curtis Axel in a non-title match.
Here are photos of Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and Wade Barrett back with WWE (links open in new window at 24Wrestling.com):
-The WWE stock closed today at $9.75, so it has basically leveled off following the big drop on Monday.
-As noted previously, WWE will be running two shows this weekend in Hidalgo, Texas. On Saturday, WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio returns. In addition, WWE will be holding a “WWE Street Party” on Saturday from 2pm to 6pm to kick off the 10-year anniversary of the State Farm Arena. Scheduled to appear at the “WWE Street Party” are WWE Superstars Sin Cara, Big Show, Brodus Clay, R-Truth and Alicia Fox.
-For whatever reason, currently sidelined WWE Superstar John Cena is still being mentioned in the local advertisements as appearing in the dark match at the upcoming WWE RAW television taping in Biloxi, MS on Monday, September 30th. Unless a miracle occurs, obviously Cena will not be wrestling on that show.
– Sunday’s episode of Total Divas drew 1.349 million viewers, down from the previous episode’s 1.671 million viewers.
The show aired during the final hour of SummerSlam, which explains the falloff. Despite viewership being down for the first time, Sunday’s show still had more viewers than the debut episode.
– After undergoing an MRI exam following his hand injury on RAW, Sin Cara wrestled in a dark match prior to Tuesday night’s WWE Smackdown tapings. He defeated Damien Sandow. No word yet on how the MRI went, but the fact that he was back in the ring the night after his injury is a good sign.
WWE Superstar Sin Cara suffered yet another injury during his match against Alberto Del Rio on RAW – and now the masked grappler has backstage heat on him once again.
WWE Superstar Sin Cara was injured in the opening moments of his match against Alberto Del Rio on RAW. Sin Cara dove onto Del Rio outside of the ring and immediately – it was clear that he had jammed his fingers, which resulted in his left hand appearing very disfigured. The match was immediately called off and Del Rio was declared the winner.
WWE published an article providing an update on his condition, and noted that he suffered a dislocated ring finger. The article also provides some insight on the severity of the injury:
“According to [WWE Dr. Michael] Sampson, an injury such as this does carry risk, which is why the bout was stopped and Sin Cara is currently slated to undergo further testing.
‘We’re going get X-rays tomorrow to make sure he doesn’t have an avulsion fracture.’ said Sampson. ‘Hopefully we’ll be able to finger splint him and he’ll be able to wrestle, but it’ll be determined after x-rays tomorrow.'”
According to one source, The Wyatt Family is currently considered a pet project of Triple H in WWE these days. The general consensus within WWE is that HHH is grooming the Wyatt Family for a big push, even more so than the one they are currently riding.
One report claims HHH is specifically grooming them for the spot that was one designated for The Shield. Apparently The Shield is about to be bumped down a notch or two in favor of the Wyatt’s.
Past pet projects of Hunter’s included Kharma and Sin Cara. The general feeling there is both of those projects bombed, so “The Game” is expected to go all out when it comes to getting the Wyatt’s over in a major way.
-As we reported yesterday, Tyson Kidd is set to return to WWE television sometime in September of this year. Kidd responded to the report on his Twitter account with the following tweet:

– WWE will be losing a lot of money by holding the 2013 Hall of Fame ceremony at Madison Square Garden. Despite that, Triple H pushed hard for the event to take place at the “World’s Most Famous Arena” – even before Bruno Sammartino agreed to be inducted. Both Mick Foley and Bob Backlund have strong ties to the building and WWE felt it was important to bring some of the WrestleMania action to MSG with the event taking place in the NY/NJ area .
– Sin Cara recently suffered a concussion, which likely took place during his match against Jack Swagger on RAW (3/11). He was evaluated on 3/18 and underwent Impact concussion testing. He missed last weekend’s WWE live events and didn’t work Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings.
