‘Heels’ Showrunner Hopes Netflix Move Will Inspire A Third Season

Heels, the wrestling-themed drama series from Starz, moves to Netflix on September 25, 2023 two years after the second season finale. Show-runner Mike O’Malley is optimistic the show be ‘rebooted’ for Season 3 once a wider audience discovers the show.

The series follows Stephen Amell as Jack Spade and Alexander Ludwig as Ace Spade, playing brothers from Georgia competing against each other to be the top star of their late father’s promotion, Duffy Wrestling League.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, O’Malley shared his thoughts on Heels going to Netflix and urged fans to support it to create demand for a third season. He also notes that Amell’s upcoming role in Suits: LA could bring new viewers to the wrestling drama.

EW’s Kristen Baldwin transcribed the following quotes.

“To a person, every single person involved in this show wants to make more Heels,” said O’Malley. “The success of Suits: LA will just drive more people to watching Stephen’s work on Netflix. It doesn’t take that long to make a season of Heels. It’s very labor intensive, but there are windows of time during hiatuses to make more.”

Since its cancellation, fans have hoped it would be picked up by another network or streaming service. Netflix has a bigger audience than Starz, which can allow new viewers to watch the show for the first time.

Wrestling On Netflix

The timing of Netflix launching Heels on their platform is interesting, as WWE is set to have a Monday Night Raw stream exclusively next year. The popular streaming service is starting to enter the wrestling genre with the addition of Monday Night Raw, which will air live weekly in January 2025. The $5 billion deal is expected to add a refreshing change for the Raw brand.

Netflix also aims to attract new customers and retain those who already subscribe to the service, which, as the Associated Press reported in April, has nearly 270 million subscribers.

Heels‘ streaming on Netflix has the potential to interest wrestling fans who have yet to watch the series but are subscribing to Monday Night Raw. Regardless, fans of the series should show their support by watching it next month on the service. Netflix’s investment in wrestling and Heels viewership could push for season three, which O’Malley is hopeful for.

Stephen Amell On Advice He Got From Triple H Before His SummerSlam Match

Stephen Amell appeared on the latest episode of the Talk Is Jericho podcast. During the interview, the Arrow star reflected on his wrestling journey so far.

The acting star first recalled his match against Christopher Daniels at All In. He remembered the big table spot and said that he wishes he would have taken some more time in between spots.

Amell then discussed his very first outing in the wrestling world at SummerSlam 2015. He revealed the advice Triple H had given him at the time before his match:

“And I just think back to before I went out at SummerSlam, just think back to Hunter, Triple H coming up to me and going, ‘If you think you’re going too fast, just slow down. If you think you’re going too slow, slow down more.

And when you’re absolutely positive that you’re going way too slow, slow it way f——— down.’ And it’s such great advice” said Stephen Amell, “and I didn’t listen to it at all.”

The Heels star teamed up with Neville to compete against the team of Cody Rhodes then known as Stardust and Wade Barrett at the SummerSlam 2015 event.

Stephen Amell stated recently that he will be attending the upcoming Dynamite: Grand Slam event this Wednesday and he has also promised to bring his wrestling gear for the show.

Stephen Amell Says He Will Be Attending Dynamite: Grand Slam

Stephen Amell has confirmed that he will be attending the upcoming AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam special from Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 22.

The Arrow star revealed this news in a video he posted on Instagram. He was promoting the debut of the first three episodes of his Heels series on the Starz app:

“You are gonna be seeing me in some capacity on your television I believe on Wednesday the 22nd,” said Amell, “I am gonna be at the AEW show at Arthur Ashe Stadium.”

The TV star is friends with the Elite and especially with Cody Rhodes. His friendship with Rhodes dates back to the time he teamed up with Neville to face Cody and Wade Barrett at SummerSlam 2015.

Stephen Amell has made several wrestling appearances since then. He has also competed in matches for different promotions including a tag match for ROH and a singles match against Christopher Daniels at All In.

Cody Rhodes is set to make his return to AEW programming during next week’s Grand Slam special as well. He is announced for a singles match against Malakai Black.

There is no word yet on what Amell will be doing at the show but the obvious speculation is that he might get involved in this bout in some capacity.

Stephen Amell On Potential Wrestling Return

Having competed in multiple different promotions, Stephen Amell is no stranger to wrestling. With his wrestling drama Heels premiering this week, many wonder if we will see him having a live match again anytime soon.

The acting star recently had an interview with WrestlingInc. He talked about things like watching tapes of legends such as Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, and Harley Race for the preparation of his new TV series and more.

When asked about a potential return to the ring for either WWE or AEW, Amell claimed that he has a man-crush on Kevin Owens, before mentioning how he has been discussing ideas for a singles match against Cody Rhodes as well:

“My man-crush on Kevin Owens is alive and well. I love the way that guy works and the way he works a crowd. Cody and I have been circling a singles match for the longest time. I know that he’d take care of me and that we can tell a story in there. You’re going to have to convince my wife first ultimately.”

Stephen Amell went on to talk about his upcoming TV show. He claimed that it would be worth it if he can convert one person into a wrestling fan who didn’t like it before.

Wrestling drama series Heels featuring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig among others is set to premiere on Starz at 9 PM ET on August 15.

Stephen Amell On How CM Punk Replied When Asked About Wrestling Return

Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig recently appeared on Busted Open Radio. The duo talked about a number of things and also discussed the recent rumors surrounding their Heels co-star CM Punk.

The former WWE champion has been heavily rumored for a wrestling return in near future. Many signs point towards him being AEW bound already.

Discussing his reaction to these rumors, Amell revealed that he actually texted Punk to ask about the reports and the former WWE star simply sent him a picture of a cat:

“And I actually texted him when all this stuff broke, I’m like, ‘You coming back?’ And he sent me back a photo of a cat shrugging.

But I mean look, anything, I think as a general rule, anything in the world of pro wrestling that is gonna piss Vince McMahon off and get his competitive juices flowing is probably good for business.”

Stephen Amell then talked about CM Punk’s involvement in their drama series. He revealed that Punk wasn’t originally going to be part of the show:

“We had originally another actor, not a wrestler, really good guy, set for the role of Ricky Rabies. And then scheduling-wise, it ended up not working out. And then all of a sudden, it’s like; we got CM Punk on the show? Really?

And I get to train with him a little bit, and I mean Phil was so great in and out of the ring that we ended up bringing him back for the finale.”

Heels is an upcoming wrestling drama series featuring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig among others which is set to premiere on Starz on August 15.

STARZ Releases Trailer For Heels, Premiering Aug. 15th (Video)

STARZ has released an extended trailer for Heels, a new original drama series based on the world of independent pro wrestling.

Heels premieres Sunday, August 15th at 9pm (Eastern).

https://youtu.be/dKFfSSXavYc

Heels stars Stephen Amell as Jack Spade, with Alexander Ludwig playing his younger brother, Ace. STARZ sent in a press release that includes the following synopsis and character overview:

“Heels is a story about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to — or hard to leave behind.

The drama series also stars Alison Luff as Staci Spade, Jack’s wife who learns that she has to contend with the emotional stakes her in-laws have invested in their wrestling goals and the demands it puts on her family; Mary McCormack as Willie Day, Jack’s business partner and the logistical brains behind the local wrestling organization; Kelli Berglund as Crystal Tyler, Ace’s valet and love interest; Allen Maldonado as Rooster Robbins, one of the best wrestlers in the circuit who always has something to prove and always backs it up; two-time Super Bowl champion James Harrison as Apocalypse, a been-around-the-block journeyman wrestler who’s been at it for decades and has no illusions of fame or glory; and Chris Bauer as Wild Bill Hancock, a larger-than-life former wrestling star who is now a high-level pro wrestling scout.”

First Look At Stephen Amell In Pro Wrestling Drama Series Heels (Photo)

Starz has shared the first look of Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig in the upcoming pro wrestling drama series dubbed ‘Heels.’

In the photos as seen below, both the stars are seen in their ring gear in a backstage setting and it looks like they are about to go through the curtain:

“Heels” follows the story of two brothers in Jack Spade and Ace Spade. Jack, played by Amell is a heel while Ace played by Ludwig is a babyface.

The wrestling drama series focuses on the two brothers’ struggles to save the Duffy Wrestling League promotion which was left to them by their father.

The show started filming back in August 2020 and it’s currently in post-production. The release schedule for it has not been revealed but it’s expected to have a total of 8 episodes.

A number of known wrestling figures are expected to be featured in the show. Wrestlers such as CM Punk, Doc Gallows, Stevie Richards, Perry Hawx, J Spade and others have filmed content for the program.

WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley is also rumored to be part of the cast for the TV series but his appearance hasn’t been confirmed so far.

Stephen Amell Set To Appear On WWE Backstage

The eighth and final season of Arrow is going on with Crisis of Infinite Earths just around the corner but the superhero star Stephen Amell has found time to make a return to WWE by appearing on WWE Backstage.

Amell will be appearing on Promo School on Fox Sports 1 this upcoming Tuesday, possibly to promote the upcoming sixth annual Arrowverse crossover event. The WWE on FOX Twitter account posted the following:

“BREAKING: The star of @CW_Arrow, and former SummerSlam competitor, @StephenAmell will go to ‘Promo School’ on @WWE Backstage this Tuesday at 11p ET on @Fs1. #WWEStarrcade”

Stephen is an avid wrestling fan and has wrestled for WWE before. He had a match on SummerSlam 2015 where he teamed up with Neville to defeat Stardust and King Barrett in a tag team match. Amell then became friends with Cody Rhodes and he teamed up with Bullet Club for a match at Ring of Honor’s Survival of the Fittest in 2017.

Amell’s most recent wrestling appearance was when he competed at All Elite Wrestling’s All In on 6 August 2018 in his first-ever singles match, in a losing attempt against Christopher Daniels.

The Arrow star has said before that he isn’t looking to become a wrestler or get back into the ring again. “I can’t get back in the wrestling ring. I risk divorce.” He had also fractured his hip while wrestling and production of Arrow had to be delayed because of the injury.

Amell is also selling wine with AEW World Champion Chris Jericho. The news was announced on last Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, and the wine is called “A Little Bit of the Bubbly”. You can read more about it here.

Chris Jericho & Stephen Amell Selling “A Little Bit Of The Bubbly” Sparkling Wine

AEW World Champion Chris Jericho and Stephen Amell, star of the CW superhero series Arrow, are selling sparkling wine.

Jericho announced the news on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite and later, All Elite Wrestling issued a press release with additional details. Jericho is teaming up with Amell, who founded Nocking Point Wines.

“I’ve been working non-stop over the last few months to deliver a product that’s as classic and as great as I am….and I have,” said Chris Jericho. “After you get a taste of A Little Bit of the Bubbly, normal wine, beer and even vodka will taste like swill. This is pretty much the GOAT of adult beverages. You’re welcome.”

“It’s Jericho. It’s AEW. It’s A Little Bit of the Bubbly,” said Stephen Amell. “I’m marking out.”

A Little Bit of the Bubbly is a sparkling Riesling produced exclusively by Nocking Point Wines. It was announced that fans can buy the product when pre-sales begin Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 8 pm ET.

Jericho said the catchphrase after he beat Adam Page at the All Out pay-per-view event in his post-match celebration for winning the first AEW World Championship.

Stephen Amell Stars In New Wrestling-Themed TV Series “Heels”

Stephen Amell once wrestled Christopher Daniels on a sold-out show from Chicago’s Sears Center. Now, almost one year later, the former Arrow leading actor is being announced as starring in a new wrestling-themed TV show on Starz. The show will be titled “Heels.”

Amell has already invited his friend and former co-star Cody Rhodes onto the show. Cody previously appeared in several episodes of Arrow.

Cody responded with the following:

The show follows the lives of two brothers as they feud over their family-owned Georgia-based wrestling promotion. It is scheduled for an 8-episode first season.

Stephen Amell in Wrestling

The Toronto-based actor has wrestled in 3 wrestling matches for 3 different wrestling promotions. In 2015, Amell made his pro-wrestling debut at SummerSlam teaming with Neville in victorious fashion over King Barrett and Stardust. Amell would then wrestle with Ring of Honor in 2017. He teamed with Cody, the Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega and defeated Flip Gordon, Scorpio Sky, Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels at Survival of the Fittest 2017.

Amell then wrestled Christopher Daniels in a losing effort at All In last year. You can watch his match in ROH from 2017 in the player below:

Cody Rhodes On Stephen Amell Possibly Joining AEW

With Arrow set to begin its final season in October this year, a lot of people have been wondering if the show’s star, Stephen Amell could focus more on wrestling afterward and join his friends at AEW for an extended wrestling stint.

TV Guide recently interviewed a number of top AEW Executives including Tony Khan and the members of the Elite where they talked about their upcoming show and more.

When asked about Stephen possibly joining them after the Arrow concludes, Cody Rhodes represented the group and claimed that they have ideas for the TV Star if he ever decides to show up:

“Stephen is a wrestler, so we would, I think we’d absolutely. When the time comes, if Stephen needs a home as a wrestler, ever wants to get in the ring, we’re ready for it. We got ideas in case he wants to show up. And he’s watched every second of what we’ve done and commented on it so far. So I just wait for the day.”

After this, the interviewer revealed that they will be talking to Amell soon and asked if the Exes wanted to tell him anything, replying to which Rhodes said “Just tell him that, he’ll always have a home with AEW.”

Stephen Amell has previously wrestled a number of matches including one for WWE and it’d be interesting to know if he would consider having a longer run now when AEW is gearing up for their weekly program.

Stephen Amell Asks Batista Not To Kill Him Over WrestleMania Tweet

There was an interesting exchange between “Arrow” star Stephen Amell and former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Batista on Twitter.

It all started once Amell sent out a post on his official Twitter account on Tuesday where he noted that he was pumped about Batista returning to in-ring action to take on Triple H at WrestleMania 35 but don’t want to see a celebrity angle detract from the card.

“Just landed and found out about @DaveBautista v @TripleH — Really pumped for the match but also don’t want to see a celebrity angle detract from an awesome wrestling card.”

Many people took this as a joke from Amell as he was poking fun at himself due to his past relationship with WWE.

If you recall, Amell made a few appearances on WWE Monday Night RAW in the summer of 2015 that eventually led to him working a match. He teamed up with Neville to beat Stardust and Wade Barrett in a tag team match at the SummerSlam pay-per-view event.

This is when Batista responded to the tweet. Well, Amell took this for what it is and decided to try to clear the air with “Guardians of the Galaxy” star as he noted that he didn’t mean to come off the way Batista saw it but rather trying to be funny. He would add, “Please don’t kill me.”

Stephen Amell Reflects On Wrestling Christopher Daniels At All In

Stephen Amell, star of CW superhero show Arrow, took to his Facebook account in order to post a video reflecting on his match with The Fallen Angel, Christopher Daniels, and his experience being a part of All In. Amell, who appears to be sporting cuts and bruises on his face, had this to say:

“I really wanted to pass along some gratitude for what was a once in a lifetime, possibly a last of a lifetime experience for me, being at All In,” he said. “Being part of the largest independent wrestling show ever, was seriously, seriously, seriously incredible.”

Fallen Angel

The subject would then turn to his opponent on that night, “I want to thank Christopher Daniels for being just a wonderful opponent. I don’t want to break kayfabe, but when it came time to selecting who we wanted me to work with here for All In, Cody was very insistent that I be with a guy that has the know-how and the wherewithal that Christopher Daniel’s has. He was nothing short of a lifesaver in the ring,” Amell admits, before confessing, “[…] about three minutes in, I did what I anticipated would happen, and what everyone told me would happen, and what I knew would happen. I blew up! Couldn’t catch my breath. I had no idea where I was and being with a guy like CD [Christopher Daniels]… I couldn’t have done it without him.”

The Arrow star closed by thanking those that brought him in for All In and supported him throughout the entire endeavour.

“Most of all I would like to thank Cody, Brandi, and the entire Rhodes family. I’ve known Cody for the better half of three years and to watch him come out for his match later on in the night and the emotion on his face, and to see him realise a show like All In was really quite amazing. I’m so very proud of him.”

Cody Rhodes Explains How ‘Arrow’ Star Stephen Amell Ended Up Going ALL IN

It’s no secret that ‘Arrow’ star Stephen Amell is a big fan of professional wrestling and now he will go ALL IN this weekend for a match against Christopher Daniels.

Amell has actually appeared in matches previously, including a showdown against Cody when he was Stardust in WWE back in 2015.

Now Amell is scheduled for his biggest match today as he goes into singles competition at the highly anticipated ALL IN pay-per-view this weekend from New York.

According to Rhodes, who also has a five episode arc upcoming in the new season of ‘Arrow’, says that Amell has pro wrestling in his blood and that’s why it wasn’t all that hard to get him on board for the match at ALL IN.

“Well, Stephen got it in his blood.” Rhodes said when speaking to ComicBook.com. “The first time he came back, we were in Barkley Center when he did the match with Stardust. When he came to the curtain, he got a standing ovation. He got it in his blood, man. It doesn’t matter what age you are, if you’re a millionaire already, the feeling of pro wrestling for an entertainer, for a show person, there’s nothing like it. And he wanted a singles match immediately after that. Immediately.

“‘Arrow’ marches on, and we didn’t necessarily get there with Stardust. But when we talked about this event, I obviously thought what a wonderful moment that would be, and at the same time, I was heading back to ‘Arrow’ for five episodes now.”

https://twitter.com/StephenAmell/status/1032092867584389125

Filming for ‘Arrow’ season 7 is still ongoing but obviously Amell is taking a break this weekend for his match against Daniels.

Rhodes says the pairing was natural just given what he knows about both of the guys involved in the match and he can’t wait to see how it all unfolds at ALL IN.

“He was the right person at the right time.” Rhodes said about Daniels as Amell’s opponent. “I mean, if I’m talking as a real insider perspective, here’s two guys that I would give the world to. I won my first world title from Christopher Daniels, and I may dislike him. He’s literally busted my lip and both my eyebrows, but I’ll have a bond with that guy forever because of it. And Stephen, even though I read for eight different parts and finally got something, Stephen has been a big part of my career. That was my favorite thing that I did as Stardust. It really helped me learn the character, and to be able to come into his world, and that’s something that I want to pursue, and we’re doing more with after.”

“So it’s just two of the greatest people ever, and plus, they’re both super contrarian. They’re both super aggressive, and competitive, so I just feel like it’s going to be a full blown hockey fight, and I’m excited for that hockey fight. I’ll be mortified and terrified if [Christopher Daniel] busts Stephen open like he has done to me every time we’ve ever been in the ring, but my fingers are crossed, man.”

Given Amell’s excitement about the upcoming match, it’s tough to believe he won’t show up any time Rhodes has an offer for him to hop back into the ring.

Are you excited about Stephen Amell making his singles debut against Christopher Daniels at ALL IN?

Arrow Star Fires Back At Christopher Daniels

‘All In’ is just a week and change away at this point in time, and things are starting to heat up, with every competitor involved across the eclectic card doing all they can to hype their matchups at every opportunity.

‘Arrow’ star, Stephen Amell, and ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels, are two men in particular who are using social media and the reach of the astoundingly popular web series, Being The Elite, to great effect, allowing their bout to gain traction in places that professional wrestling may not normally garner attention.

Amell recently took to Twitter to highlight the training regime that he has undergone for the match:

https://twitter.com/StephenAmell/status/1029963365441921024

In Being The Elite, episode #116, Christopher Daniels responded, cutting a captivating, single take promo from the back of the Ring Of Honor tour bus during the recent Honor ReUnited tour.

He compares the acting careers between himself and Amell, as well as their in-ring experience, before capping it off with an emphatic statement, claiming when it is all done, Christopher Daniels will lean over him and, in a clear voice, say:

“Stephen, you have failed this city. Fade to black. The end. Roll credits.”

Shots Fired

It didn’t take long for Amell to harness his social media presence to fire back:

https://twitter.com/StephenAmell/status/1031710761054158848

When speaking about this match previously, Christopher Daniels has had this to say:

“It is a different style match for me. It’s a challenge,” he said. “I feel like I’ve prided myself on being able to adapt to the strengths and weaknesses of any opponent I’ve been able to face. Stephen in terms of wrestling specifically, he is very untrained. But he is an accomplished athlete and a fan growing up.”

He continues, “That basically lends itself to an easier time for me than when WCW did it with Dennis Rodman and Karl Malone or Jay Leno. Stephen Amell is probably the best pure athlete and wrestling fan that has ever dabbled in professional wrestling. I challenge anyone to find someone better suited for it than him. I’m going into this with a lot of expectations. I think it’s going to surprise people how well it’s going to go.”

The star of ‘Arrow’ first appeared in a bout at Summerslam 2015 alongside Neville against Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes (then Stardust). Amell also performed as part of the Bullet Club in a match against Flip Gordon, Scorpio Sky & The Addiction last November’s during ROH Survival of The Fittest PPV.

Christopher Daniels Talks ‘All In’ Match with Stephen Amell

Christopher Daniels will be facing TV star Stephen Amell at the All In PPV event on September 1st. The 47 year old veteran Daniels recently spoke to TV Insider regarding his upcoming bout and the success of All In.

When asked about the ticket sales Daniels stated that “The day that the tickets went on sale and sold out so quickly, I feel like we all took a step back and said, ‘Wow, that happened quicker than we expected.” Daniels also discussed the rise of popularity of Bullet Club and The Young Bucks/Cody Rhodes in particular. “I think everyone knew that with the excitement around the Bucks and Cody and the way things are going for them right now, I think they knew it would be successful. How quickly it happened was such a pleasant surprise. It was a good feeling to know the support is out there for these guys and what they want to have happen.”

When Daniels moved onto his opponent at All In he discussed how Stephen Amell will be looking to set the bar “a lot higher than people are going to expect.” He went on to say that “I’ve been reading a lot of social media of people’s expectations. I’m pretty sure we’re going to exceed anyone’s preconceived notions of what this match is going to be.”

Third Bout for Amell

This of course will not be the first time that Stephen Amell steps in a pro wrestling ring. The star of ‘Arrow’ first appeared in a bout at Summerslam 2015 alongside Neville against Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes (then Stardust). Amell also performed as part of the Bullet Club vs Flip Gordon, Scorpio Sky & The Addiction match in last November’s ROH Survival of The Fittest PPV.

Amell recently took to Twitter to show off footage of his training for the bout. In his Tweet, he takes a jab at Daniels by calling him a “middle aged” man:

Actor Stephen Amell Wants The Bullet Club On ‘Arrow’

Actor Stephen Amell is no stranger to professional wrestling. He’s appeared on WWE television several times and even wrestled in a tag team match against Cody Rhodes back at SummerSlam 2015. Cody has crossed over into Amell’s universe as well, having a recurring role as Derek Sampson on Amell’s super hero show Arrow.

At the Heroes And Villains Fan Fest in Atlanta over the weekend, Amell expressed an interest in working with Cody Rhodes again. Should Cody return to Arrow, Amell thinks he should definitely “be surrounded by his Bullet Club friends.”

“I’m trying to get those guys to come out to one of these shows, as a group, I think that would be amazing,” Amell said. “Those guys are great. Matt and Nick and Kenny and Cody being the main guys I’ve been able to hang out with. I appreciate anyone that does something in an entrepreneurial spirit. Those guys are really paving their own way.”

Amell continued, “I mean, we would decimate them in one episode. They would be the group that we would foil in act one, and then figure out what the real problem was. If Sampson was to come back on the show, it would only make sense that he would be surrounded by his group of Bullet Club friends.”

Discussion: Do you watch Arrow? Have you seen Cody Rhodes’ appearances on the show?

Stephen Amell Reveals Advice Triple H Gave Him Before SummerSlam 2015

It’s nothing new for Stars not belonging to wrestling to appear on WWE TV, though it’s not very often that a celebrity from other stream enters a WWE ring to have a match.

One such rare event occurred when the star of Arrow Stephen Amell competed in a tag team match and won during the 2015 edition of the SummerSlam PPV.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Amell talked about his appearances in WWE and revealed the advice Triple H gave to him.

According to Stephen, The Game came to him just before his match at the PPV and told the Arrow Star to ‘slow down’ and then slow down some more:

“I was standing in the ‘Gorilla’ position before our match, Hunter walked up to me and said, ‘If you think you’re going too fast, slow down. When you’re sure you’re going too slow, then slow down some more. And when you’re positive you’re going too slow, then slow down some more.”

Stephen Amell teamed up with Neville to face the team of Stardust and Wade Barret at SummerSlam 2015 after a short feud. You can watch the closing moments of their match in the video below:

The CW network has released a new extended trailer for the upcoming season of Arrow, the hit super hero show starring SummerSlam 2015 celebrity competitor Stephen Amell. Former WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes will have a guest role on the upcoming season, portraying a villain out to destroy Amell’s character.

Back in July at the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, Stephen Amell had this to say about Cody’s involvement in the upcoming season:

“I’m so fired up for this guy; he and I haven’t really had much of a chance to talk about it but we’ve been friends for a little over a year now. I know that Cody has really wanted to get into the acting business. He went to LA, he read for a part, and his deal closed yesterday and the dude is going to be on Arrow and I’m so fired up.”

Arrow: Season 5 premieres on Wednesday, October 5 at 8/7c on The CW.

Sheamus On Possibly Facing Actor Stephen Amell In WWE

Sheamus is currently doing the media rounds to promote his role in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turttles movie. During an overseas press event, the former WWE Champion spoke about the possibility of getting in the ring with actor Stephen Amell, who also stars in the movie.

“He did a stellar performance at SummerSlam. I’d love the opportunity to take him on in the ring!” Sheamus said.

“The first time I sat down and met Stephen on set, he surprised me being a huge WWE fan, and so knowledgeable about it for all his life. I talked a bit about what I do, I was like, ‘Oh you know, come off the top rope, this and that,’ then he shows me this video of him doing Parkour, jumping off walls, doing flips, coming down, another flip, jump out to another wall… I was like, oh, I’ll stop talking about myself now. I was pretty impressed.”
