Stardust crashed Stephane Amell’s “Arrow” panel at Dallas Comic Con on Saturday, returning his Slammy Award, throwing a glass of water in his face and challenging him to a singles match.
The two had been teasing a confrontation in the days leading up to what transpired yesterday. This appears to set the stage for a match at WrestleMania 32, coincidentally also in the Dallas area.
"If he wants a singles match, all he has to do is ask." – @amellywood
Amell teamed with Neville to defeat Stardust and Bad News Barrett at last year’s SummerSlam event after months of buildup. Now the Arrow super hero and WWE’s resident super villain will get a chance to settle their differences one on one.
Stardust just crashed Stephen Amell's panel….

It looks like one of the more pleasantly surprising storylines from WWE in 2015 is going to be continuing. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson is reporting that this Saturday at the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in Secacus, New Jersey, WWE has plans to send a crew to shoot video of a confrontation between Stardust and Arrow star Stephen Amell. It would seem as if there are now plans to do a singles match between them, and since it’s a celebrity match, you have to wonder if it’s earmarked for WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas.
Amell and Stardust had a brief feud last year culminating in a tag team match at SummerSlam, where Amell and Neville defeated Stardust and King Barrett. Amell showed pretty impressive athleticism in his appearances, even hitting a big dive off the top rope to the floor at SummerSlam, and generally got high marks from fans for his performances. However, he was clearly being protected by the tag match booking at SummerSlam and a singles match is a much taller order for a non-wrestler.
Neville recently spoke with The Mirror while overseas on the current WWE U.K. tour. Below are some of the highlights.
On training with actor Stephen Amell for their tag-team match at WWE SummerSlam:
“It was very cool. That’s the thing with WWE, we have such a broad variety of acts and entertainments, so hopefully there is always something for everybody. That match was meant to be the spectacle, the celebrity attraction match, and I’m very proud of how it came off. I thought we pulled it off very well and Stephen Amell did phenomenally well. He’s a great athlete in his own right and it was such a cool experience in the Barclays Center in New York City, in the center of Brooklyn, to be able to do that with him.”
On WWE having several Europeans on the current roster:
“We are taking over. It’s pretty cool huh? I feel like recently WWE has been more dominated by Americans, but in the past five years or so the British and the Europeans are starting to come through again, which is a testament to the wrestling scene over here and the talent that we are producing. We did Glasgow and the reception received for myself and other British performers was exceptional. I’m so ready for Raw and Smackdown. We’re in Newcastle on Thursday again, I’m super excited for that, I’ll get to see my family, everyone is coming out, and I get to perform in the arena where I grew up watching wrestling. Whenever I talk about it I can’t stop grinning. It’s surreal and such a highlight of the year and of my life. Being able to do that in front of my mum and my dad and my family and the city, it’s the best man.”
On the Seth Rollins injury:
“Yeah, I mean it is the nature of this business and you know when you get into it that you have to accept this happens – because it does happen and often there is no way of avoiding it. And obviously the timing of it is terrible, but Seth is one of the most naturally talented, hardest working athletes I’ve ever met, so I know he’s going to bounce right back. It’s just going to be a case of taking a few months downtime and reassessing and rebuilding, but I’ve got no doubt he will be back better than ever soon enough. It’s just such a shame it happened now when he’s on such a run.”
Stardust is of course referring to actor Stephen Amell. After Amell and Neville defeated Stardust and King Barrett at SummerSlam, the Arrow star revealed that he was continuing to train in the ring just in case Stardust wanted another shot at him.
WWE Hall Of Famer Edge (Adam Copeland) recently spoke to WWE.com to promote his role as super villain Atom Smasher on the hit CW series, “The Flash,” which premieres on Tuesday night at 8pm EST. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On how physical his role on “The Flash” was: “It was a walk in the park compared to WWE! Anytime I was asked if I could do something physical, I said “no problem.” There is one scene where I was held by wires up on my tip-toes, perpendicular to the floor, with a giant fan blowing at me and had to stand perfectly straight without using my arms for about 30 minutes. Basically, I did a 30-minute plank. It was a great workout. The next day, my butt was sore. That’s probably too much information.”
On how Stephen Amell did in his in-ring debut at WWE SummerSlam: “He did a good job. No matter what kind of shape you’re in, wrestling is a different kind of cardio, and there is no way to prepare for it other than wrestling every night. I briefly chatted with him beforehand and was happy to find out that he’s a lifelong fan and fellow Toronto-kid. For someone who used to go see WWE at Maple Leaf Gardens and went to WrestleMania VI, he got to live out one of his dreams of competing in WWE.
He wasn’t there to promote the new season of “Arrow,” because it was nowhere near the season premiere. He was actually in the midst of filming the season, which is crazy. Being the lead of that series and having everyone depend on him to show up for work, if anything had gone wrong in the match, that would have been very bad for everyone who works on that show. I respect the fact that he just wanted to do it because of how big a WWE fan he is.”
Actor Stephen Amell and WWE Superstar Stardust teamed up today to deliver a check to the Emily’s House charity based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Amell and WWE raised $297,557 for the special t-shirt that was made for the build-up to WWE SummerSlam, where Amell and Stardust competed in a tag-team match alongside Neville and King Barrett, respectively.
WWE and the “Arrow” star were able to raise the aforementioned amount of money in just five days.
The following are some photos and comments from both Stardust and Stepheen Amell.
WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin is not a fan of WWE bringing in celebrities to wrestle. During a recent episode of his Steve Austin Show podcast, Stone Cold looked back at Stephen Amell competing at SummerSlam, saying that it hurts the credibility of the wrestlers when a ‘civilian’ comes in and is able compete with WWE Superstars.
“I just don’t like the celebrities coming in there, the squared circle, and being able to compete at any level with the guys in the business,” Austin vented. “You’ve got to protect some integrity of the [professional wrestling] business. I don’t care what day and age, what year it is.”
Austin says it’s flat out embarrassing when celebrities get in the ring and WWE’s booking is a big part of that.
“It was what it was, but I just got a hard time seeing that kid come off with that crossbody on the top rope on twoWWE guys down there [at ringside].”
“So was it embarrassing? You’re damn right it was, but for the wrong reasons and the reasons [were] bad booking,” Austin said. “It was for a shoot embarrassing to those guys to have to go out there and do that with the actor guy involved, but that’s on a shoot level, so it was an embarrassment to the booking and I felt bad for those guys because they were in that role.”
– The story of Dean Ambrose almost being attacked by a fan after his match at Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown tapings in Providence is getting mainstream media attention. The fan jumped the ringside barrier and charged at Ambrose from behind but was quickly taken down by security.
– Tickets for the Survivor Series on November 22nd went on sale this weekend. Tickets are priced at $29, $54, $79, $94, $104, $354 and $404 for ringside with commemorative seats. The show takes place from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA.
– WWE.com is running a poll asking which celebrity wrestler most impressed them in the ring. The choices are Snooki, Stephen Amell, Jay Leno, Lawrence Taylor, Maria Menounos, Dennis Rodman, Seth Green, Kevin Federline and former World Heavyweight Champion David Arquette. With around 8,000 votes cast, Stephen Amell is leading the way with 74%, followed by Snooki at 6%, Seth Green with 5% and Menounos is tied with LT at 4%.
– WWE’s Scott Stanford is back as the host on “This Week In WWE” on the WWE Network.
– Bull Dempsey recently spoke with WWE.com about his new gimmick and his win over Elias Samson at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. When asked about Bull Fit, he said “It’s about hard work and not being afraid to be yourself. The hardest thing to do is be yourself in front of people. If you can do that, there’s no obstacle you can’t overcome.” As for what’s next for him: “Bigger and better things. At one point, when I first came here, I promised I was going to be NXT Champion. After what people saw in Brooklyn, the sky’s the limit.”
Following reports that Stephen Amell could be getting back in a WWE ring once again to work a singles match with Stardust, the Arrow star noted on Twitter that he’s continuing to train “Just in case somebody can’t come to grips with the fact they lost” at SummerSlam.
Stardust issued a statement in response, to which Amell replied. Here’s what went down:
– WWE and Stephen Amell raised over $400,000 for Emily House charity by selling 15,694 t-shirts that Amell and WWE produced with the proceeds going to the charity. Stardust noted on Twitter last week that he would personally deliver the check if over 10,000 shirts were sold, which happened with ease.
– The Barclays Center took to Twitter to thank WWE for coming to their building three nights in a row for NXT Takeover: Brooklyn on Saturday, WWE SummerSlam on Sunday and WWE RAW on Monday night. The Barclays Center tweeted the following:
– The New Day won the Fatal Four-Way WWE Tag-Team Championship match at WWE SummerSlam on Sunday night, defeating The Prime Time Players, The Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores to become the new WWE Tag-Team Champions.
– “Arrow” actor Stephen Amell won his in-ring WWE debut at SummerSlam, defeating King Barrett and Stardust with his tag-team partner, Neville. The finish of the match saw Neville hit the Red Arrow for the pinfall victory. Amell actually did a pretty good job of executing some cool moves during the match.
– Seth Rollins debuted new, all-white ring gear in his “Title vs. Title — Winner Take All” match against John Cena at SummerSlam. Rollins would go on to win the match with help from Jon Stewart, who hit Cena with a chair and set up the chair for Rollins to Pedigree Cena on, making himself the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the new WWE United States Champion. Below is a photo of Rollins’ new ring gear.
– Due to the success this week, WWE has already begun working on having another major SummerSlam week next year. You can likely expect another NXT Takeover event to be coupled with the show, which will probably run four hours again.
– Actor Stephen Amell tweeted the following photo of himself in the Barclays Center as he prepares for his in-ring debut at tonight’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view.
– WWE posted the following video of several WWE Superstars and Divas playing a game of “H.O.R.S.E.” with the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center this week.
King Barrett hosted a Twitter Q&A on Friday to promote this Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Below are some of the highlights.
– WWE Hall Of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin gave a speech at the WWE 2K16 media event in New York City on Thursday night about Vince McMahon calling him about being the WWE 2K16 cover star. Austin noted that he was surprised, but didn’t want to talk himself out of the opportunity, as he admitted he has made a lot of bad career decisions in the past and he didn’t want this to be another one of them.
– King Barrett will be holding a Twitter Q&A today at 5pm EST. to promote this Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view, where he will team up with Stardust to take on Neville and “Arrow” actor Stephen Amell. Fans can submit questions to Barrett using the hashtag #SummerSlam.
– Below are the “Top 10 WWE SmackDown Moments” for this week’s show, which was the SummerSlam “go-home” edition of the program.
Actor and SummerSlam performer Stephen Amell is preparing to head to New York for his big tag-team match with Neville against Stardust and King Barrett at this Sunday’s pay-per-view.
Amell posted a new video on his official Facebook page where he reveals that he will be wearing some special “Arrow” gear to the ring on Sunday.
Amell also noted via Twitter that the t-shirt he and WWE collaborated on has already raised $80,000 for the Emily’s House charity.
Actor Stephen Amell will be appearing at this Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view, however it appears that NXT Takeover: Brooklyn is not a big enough priority for the “Arrow” star.
NXT star Dash Wilder of “The Mechanics” invited the actor to this Saturday’s special at the Barclays Center, however Amell told him he can not make the show.
– In the past, Paul Heyman and Jim Ross have told stories about Vince McMahon having a pet peeve about sneezing. Heyman recently sent the following tweet to a fan, referencing the story again.
. @KaliNemeth You weren't allowed to SNEEZE? Is your dad Vince McMahon?
– As previously reported, the recent episode of the WWE Network show “Unfiltered with Renee Young,” which featured WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella, lasted 30 minutes. The show is now back to being a 15-minute program, starting with this week’s episode, which featured SummerSlam star and “Arrow” actor Stephen Amell.
Stephen Amell (‘Arrow’) suffered an injury while training ahead of next weekend’s WWE SummerSlam PPV. Amell will team up with Neville against King Barrett and his heated rival, Stardust.
While lifting weights on Thursday, Amell accidentally hit himself in the jaw with a barbell.
He posted a video on Facebook reassuring fans he’s icing his jaw and will be fine.
“Facebook, hello,” Amell greeted his fans. “Super fired up this morning… I was training, I was doing a snatch-pull-curl… I don’t know, with a bar. I snatched it so hard that it literally cracked me in the jaw. And both my molars, indented into my tongue. I’m okay. I’m just waiting for some ice at the moment. Ice it down, take the swelling of the tongue away. Hopefully get back to speaking in a more normal voice. I’m very excited to loop my lines on Arrow today, because I don’t think I necessarily sound like me. Nothing like ringing your bell first thing in the morning.”
– There will be no new content airing on the WWE Network following this Monday night’s edition of WWE RAW. Instead, WWE has decided to re-air the new Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar hype special for their upcoming match at this month’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view.
– A new episode of “The WWE List” will premiere on the WWE Network this Tuesday at 4pm EST. The official description for the show reads as follows:

– “Arrow” actor Stephen Amell spent some time in the ring with WWE performers on Thursday to train for his upcoming match at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Below is a photo of Arrow in the ring:
WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently updated his official website blog with his latest thoughts and opinions on a number of current WWE topics. Below are some of the highlights:
On The Undertaker/Brock Lesnar angle: “I’m more interested in the Lesnar/Taker/Heyman business than any thing else on the show or heading to Summer Slam. Very curious as to what will go down in Brooklyn. Many ae predicting that Taker wins but I’m not so sure that he will and have predicted a Lesnar win on my podcast. I will certainly be watching from the comfort of my home on Sunday August 24 which is the day after my RINGSIDE Show in NYC’s Gramercy Theater the night before. The Undertaker-Brock video package was money.”
On rumors of Kevin Owens having issues with WWE management: “Thought the triple threat match was entertaining largely thanks to the fresh contributions of both Kevin Owens and Cesaro to go along with long time main eventer Randy Orton. Cesaro has never looked better in WWE than he has lately. I’m high on both Cesaro and Owens to continue to emerge in WWE. I’m getting deluged on Twitter with questions from people asking me if Kevin Owens is having issues with management. I have no earthly idea as to the answer and see no reason why Owens would be in hot water. Bottom line is I don’t know but I do know that Owens beat John Cena cleanly a few weeks ago which can’t be discounted or forgotten. Nonetheless a good match that saw all three men contribute significantly.”
On Stephen Amell in WWE: “Thought actor Steve Amell over achieved Monday night and I was dead wrong about doubting his appearance which is leading to Summer Slam. Amell is a good athlete or so it seems. Hope that they pull off the special attraction well at Summer Slam.”

As recently as last month, there had been talk of Sting competing at SummerSlam, teaming with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose against the Wyatt Family. One of the reasons WWE decided not to use Sting at this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view is due to the fact that the card is already loaded with stars like The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, actor Stephen Amell and others.
With that said, it’s possible WWE is waiting to use Sting as a hook to sell the WWE Network in September for Night Of Champions, which takes place in Texas, where Sting currently lives.
If Sting is used in September, it’s possible he will work the previously rumored six-man tag-team match with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose against Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. A big factor in this match happening is Erick Rowan’s status, as he’s currently out of action due to injury and might not be back until November.
Television Actor Stephen Amell (‘Arrow’) will be stepping in the ring at SummerSlam, teaming up with Neville in a match against Stardust and King Barrett.
After feuding with Cody Rhodes for weeks, Amell was in attendance for RAW and got physically involved with his nemesis. After Neville defeated King Barrett, Stardust ran in to attack Neville. Stardust tried baiting Amell into getting involved, which led to:
Backstage after the altercation, Amell requested the match, but Triple H initially turned him down. Amell said to call his lawyers because he’ll sign off on whatever to make the match happen. Triple H said the paperwork will be sent over to his agent by 9am tomorrow morning and the two teams will square off at SummerSlam.
– As noted earlier, WWE has joined forces with Hollywood celebrities and professional athletes in support of Answer The Call, a windows’ & children’s benefit fund. Several readers pointed out that the photo of John Cena at CharityBuzz.com depicts the US Champion wearing new green and orange gear, which Cena will likely be debuting very soon.
– Actor Stephen Amell tweeted the following about his scheduled appearance on tonight’s WWE RAW:
