Austin Theory Reveals Viral Jelly Roll Moment Was His Idea

Austin Theory has revealed that his viral SummerSlam 2024 moment with Jelly Roll was part of his own idea.

The former US Champion recently had an interview with Battleground podcast. He talked about things such as his partnership with Greyson Waller, how the creative approach has changed in Triple H regime, and more.

During the interview, Theory was asked about the company trusting him with celebrity moments such as the segment with The Rock or his SummerSlam encounter with Jelly Roll. Talking about the latter, Austin Theory revealed that it was actually his idea for the rap star to give him a chokeslam during their interaction:

“Speaking of the Jelly Roll situation, it wasn’t going to be a choke slam. I heard little ideas of—maybe a choke slam or this—but I think a scoop slam was actually gonna be what it was. I remember being in the ring with everybody and going to Triple H, being like, ‘Hey, just trust me on this. Let him give me a choke slam; I’ll make it look amazing. All he has to do is put his arm up.’ Sure enough man, we went out there, and it looked amazing. It trended like crazy; it was all over the place.”

Not One Other Place I’d Ever Go: Austin Theory

While some other people would take being booked in spots like these negatively, Austin Theory keeps a positive mindset. According to him, his focus is always on what the company needs from him because it’s the place he’s always wanted to be in:

“But it’s just understanding that job, of what you need to do that night. I think always understanding why I’m doing something—ok is this gonna help this. Is this what we’re trying to do for the company right now and the position they’re putting me in—And I’m just, I’m all in. I’m never like, ‘Ah,’ or disappointed in stuff like that.

I have a huge opportunity; I got a moment. It’s the WWE— it’s the place I’ve wanted to be my entire life. There’s not one other place I’d ever go. This is it. So, I’m locked in, man. So whatever the opportunity is at the moment, or whoever the guy is—it doesn’t matter if it’s The Rock or Jelly Roll—it doesn’t matter. I’m all in.”

Austin Theory and Greyson Waller are scheduled to compete at the upcoming October 8 episode of NXT. They will challenge Nathan Frazer & Axiom for the NXT Tag Team Championships.

Machine Gun Kelly Reveals SummerSlam Confrontation with Randy Orton

Machine Gun Kelly had some choice words for Randy Orton, and made his views perfectly clear about the Viper at WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland. For the August PLE, Kelly accompanied Logan Paul for his U.S. title match that saw the Maverick lose the gold to current champion LA Knight. Speaking on Paul’s ImPaulsive podcast, Kelly recalled seeing Orton backstage at the event.

“I saw Randy Orton, and I remember seeing Randy Orton talk s*** about me. And there’s a point where I’m going to practice a new version of myself. 3-2-1, I’m like ‘F*** that! Hey man, f*** you!’ I don’t know where you [Paul] were but all my boys were ‘Is this real? Is this part of the script?’ The amount of people that pinned me as the aggressor in every situation I’m in are so wrong.”

Orton didn’t compete at SummerSlam, but appeared on the following episode of Monday Night RAW where he confronted GUNTHER. Orton will challenge the WWE World Heavyweight Champion this Saturday at the first WWE Bash In Berlin PLE.

Machine Gun Kelly in WWE

Machine Gun Kelly is no stranger to appearing in WWE. In 2015, Kelly performed on WWE RAW, but ate a powerbomb on the stage by Kevin Owen for his troubles. Despite doing nothing to rile up the crowd other than perform his music, the fans cheered when Owens delivered the move and gave the former Universal Champion a ‘Thank You Owens’ chant.

Kelly also appeared at the December 4, 2017 edition of Monday Night RAW and would appear again that same month as part of Tribute to the Troops. In 2022, MGK served as the Executive Producer of the soundtrack for the WWE 2K22 video game. He would be included as a playable character in the game.

Interesting Stat On WWE’s Champions After SummerSlam Title Changes

The landscape of WWE champions has reached a feat not seen in close to five years following the title changes that unfolded at SummerSlam 2024. The Biggest Party of the Summer saw four titles change hands, as Bron Breakker, LA Knight, Nia Jax, and GUNTHER left Cleveland, Ohio with gold.

With these title changes, WWE is currently in a period where all reigning champions across both the main roster and WWE NXT won their titles this year. The United States Championship was the last title to join the list as Logan Paul had held the gold since WWE Crown Jewel 2023.

The last time all WWE champions held titles they’d won in the same year was all the way back in late 2009. The champions at the time were:

  • WWE Champion: Sheamus (Won in December 2009)
  • World Heavyweight Champion: The Undertaker (Won in October 2009)
  • ECW World Champion: Christian (Won in July 2009)
  • United States Champion: The Miz (Won in October 2009)
  • Intercontinental Champion: Drew McIntyre (Won in December 2009)
  • Unified WWE Tag Team Champions: DX (Won in December 2009)
  • WWE Divas Champion: Melina (Won in October 2009)
  • WWE Women’s Champion: Michelle McCool (Won in May 2009)

H/T to @WWEStats for uncovering this stat. Stay tuned to SEScoops for more interesting wrestling facts and statistics.

The question now is which of WWE’s current champions will be able to keep their gold the longest, and who will be the first to drop their gold. Coming out of SummerSlam, only one title match has been confirmed as new World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER will take on Randy Orton at WWE Bash In Berlin on August 31.

“A Good Run” – Logan Paul Breaks Silence After Devastating Loss at WWE SummerSlam

Logan Paul has been reflecting on his time as WWE United States Champion after his reign came to an end at SummerSlam 2024. To Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again, the Maverick looked back on some moments from his reign, including his victory over Rey Mysterio, and sharing a bed with the star-spangled strap.

Paul captured the title at WWE Crown Jewel in November 2023 and would go on to have the longest reign as United States Champion of the past ten years. Paul’s reign would see him defend against Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble and against Owens and Randy Orton at WWE WrestleMania 40.

The Maverick’s reign as champion ended at the hands of LA Knight in Paul’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. This win marks Knight’s first major title since arriving in WWE, a victory many fans believe was long overdue. Knight held the Million Dollar championship in WWE NXT though that is not a sanctioned title by the promotion.

At the post-show media scrum, Knight told SE Scoops’ own Malcolm that he intends to build a legacy in WWE as United States Champion. That legacy-building will start this Friday as Paul is being advertised for the upcoming episode of SmackDown in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Logan Paul isn’t advertised to be at the show but has said he’ll be in touch with Paul regarding the PRIME truck the new U.S. Champion damaged. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest from the United States Championship and Logan Paul.

Logan Paul Reflects On U.S. Title Run After “Banger” WWE SummerSlam Match

WWE SummerSlam 2024 didn’t go as Logan Paul had hoped, but the Maverick is honored to have been part of this year’s event in Cleveland. After the show, Paul reflected on the end of his United States Championship reign and being able to perform in his hometown. Paul shared his congratulations to LA Knight but made clear that he hasn’t forgotten Knight destroying his PRIME truck.

Paul lost the U.S. Title to LA Knight, ending the Maverick’s reign with the gold that had begun at WWE Crown Jewel 2023. Paul’s reign had been the longest of the past decade, hardly a surprising feat considering he’d only defended twice before his loss to Knight. The match also marked the first SummerSlam loss of Paul, who defeated The Miz in 2022, and Ricochet at the Biggest Party of the Summer last year.

Paul’s part-time schedule with WWE will have fans wondering when he will next compete though he has suggested he’s not finished with LA Knight. As for the new United States Champion, fans can expect to see him this Friday on SmackDown. The post-SummerSlam fallout show will take place from Tulsa, Oklahoma’s BOK Center and Knight is one of the stars advertised for the event.

After a long time, one many fans feel was too long, LA Knight is a champion and ready to build a legacy in WWE. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest on LA Knight and his future as the WWE U.S. Champion.

Bron Breakker Praises ‘Future Hall of Famer’ Sami Zayn After WWE SummerSlam

Bron Breakker gave Sami Zayn his proverbial flowers after capturing the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam from the Canadian. Speaking on the WWE SummerSlam post-show, Breakker acknowledged the work of Zayn and his title reign.

“Sami has been on top for quite some time. He’s main evented WrestleMania. He’s had the Intercontinental Championship multiple times, [he is a former] World Tag Team Champion. He’s had a Hall of Fame career, there’s no doubt he will be in the Hall of Fame one day.”

Breakker’s victory was celebrated by his father Rick Steiner and his uncle Scott Steiner. Speaking about his own aspirations for the Intercontinental Championship, the second-generation wrestler vowed to defend the gold with pride.

“I’m going to carry this championship with the most prestige and honor that I can hold it, to the highest standard and the highest level that we can do it on Monday Night RAW.”

Breakker’s vow to defend his title with prestige and honor could see the new Intercontinental Champion share the ring with a WWE icon. Speaking exclusively to SE Scoops this week, Breakker said he plans on facing John Cena with the Intercontinental title on the line.

Cena will retire from in-ring competition in 2025 and the Intercontinental Championship is the one title keeping Big Match John from completing WWE’s Triple Crown and its Grand Slam. Cena is expected to make around 25-30 appearances for WWE before hanging up his jorts for good.

CM Punk & Drew McIntyre Pay Tribute to Iconic WWE Match at SummerSlam 2024

The deeply personal match between Drew McIntyre & CM Punk at WWE SummerSlam 2024 paid tribute to a match at the same event from 1997. For the match, McIntyre arrived wearing a dark, spiked attire while Punk wore a pink and black get-up that fans may have found familiar.

The pair’s choice of wardrobe was a nod to the SummerSlam 1997 main event between Bret Hart & The Undertaker. For that match, the Phenom arrived in a dark, spiked attire while the Hitman wore his signature pink and black. While it was Bret who won on that night (winning his fifth WWF World Championship in the process), Punk would not have the same luck as his role model and he’d come up short against the Scottish Warrior.

The attires worn for the Punk-McIntyre showdown wasn’t the only nod to 1997. Both matches featured a charismatic guest referee with Shawn Michaels officiating in 1997 and Seth Rollins in charge this week. During the Punk-McIntyre match, Rollins took a chair from McIntyre and swung for the Scotsman who ducked and Seth nearly hit Punk. This spot was also a tribute to the previous match, as Shawn would swing for Bret’s head but would accidentally hit The Undertaker.

McIntyre emerged victorious at SummerSlam and said after the show that he is ready to move on from CM Punk, who shared a similar sentiment before SummerSlam. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest coming out of an explosive WWE SummerSlam.

Cody Rhodes Eyeing Rematch With Roman Reigns After SummerSlam Return

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is ready to put his title on the line against Roman Reigns following the latter’s return at SummerSlam 2024. Speaking on the post-show press conference, Rhodes was asked about the man he vanquished at WrestleMania 40.

“Roman Reigns, certainly, he’s entitled to a rematch, because he held the title for so long. That match, it has to happen.

“I’ve been in there twice with him, brother hits hard. So the idea of that, it’s there, to do, I don’t know if anyone saw, I was tapping the title like this, because I know there is a third one somewhere down the line.”

Reigns returned during the main event of WWE SummerSlam that saw Rhodes face Solo Sikoa under Bloodline Rules. After appearances by Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens, Reigns appeared to the delight of the Cleveland crowd.

After weeks of Solo Sikoa insulting Reigns, including calling him “weak” on the go-home SmackDown, Roman fired back with a Superman punch and spear to the self-appointed Bloodline leader. Reigns and Rhodes shared a look before Cody hit Cross Rhodes to retain his title.

A rematch between Rhodes & Reigns would be the third chapter in the epic saga between the two men that has dominated WWE for close to two years. At WrestleMania 39, Reigns defeated Rhodes to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, but Cody would finish the story at WrestleMania 40 this past April. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest from WWE SummerSlam and a possible Cody Rhodes Vs. Roman Reigns rematch.

LA Knight Says 2024 Is About Building a Legacy After WWE SummerSlam Win

New WWE United States Champion LA Knight is ready to build a legacy following his title victory at WWE SummerSlam 2024 in Cleveland. During the post-show press conference, SE Scoops’ own Malcolm asked Knight what this title win means to him at this stage in his wrestling journey.

“It doesn’t matter if it was Logan Paul or anybody else, walking around with it [the U.S. Championship.] I wanted it, now I’ve got it.

“At this point now, for me, I’ve talked about 2023 being the foundation. 2024 now is the time to start building that legacy, building that– we’ll call it the legend of LA Knight. Why don’t we call it that?”

Knight captured the title from Logan Paul in the Maverick’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. This match marked just the third title defense for the former champion who won the gold back at WWE Crown Jewel in November 2023. The win also marks Paul’s first major championship since arriving in WWE.

During the press conference, Knight also addressed those who felt he’d lost his moment after failing to become Undisputed WWE Universal Champion against Roman Reigns last year.

“A lot of people, especially you look into the winter time [When Crown Jewel happened]. I see the talk from people. ‘Oh I think LA Knight has fallen off.’ Am I falling off now?!”

This win is indeed a long time coming for LA Knight and his fans, especially as many expected bigger things for him in 2023. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest from WWE SummerSlam 2024 and the reign of U.S. Champion LA Knight.

Nia Jax “Grateful to Triple H” After WWE SummerSlam 2024 Title Win

New WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax has shared her gratitude to Triple H following her title victory at WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland. On the post-show press conference, Jax reflected on becoming champion after not being with WWE this time last year

“It’s pretty incredible. A year ago, it was a different position for me. But I am so grateful to Triple H for taking a chance on me. Not just a year ago but ten years ago when he hired me here. So, it’s been an incredible journey and I’m grateful for the opportunity.”

Jax captured the title from Bayley at WWE SummerSlam 2024. The win marks the Queen of the Ring’s first taste of singles gold in WWE since 2018 when she held the RAW Women’s Title. Though Tiffany Stratton teased cashing in her contract, this proved to be a distraction that would play a role in Bayley losing the title she had held since WrestleMania 40. Stratton appeared on the post-show press conference with Jax and was excited for the Queen of the Ring’s championship victory.

As a leading voice in WWE’s creative team, Triple H is certainly putting his faith in Jax as the premier woman on WWE SmackDown. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest from WWE SummerSlam and the reign of the brand-new WWE Women’s Champion.

Roman Reigns Returns At WWE SummerSlam, Helps Cody Rhodes

Roman Reigns has made his return to WWE programming as part of the Bloodline Rules main event that took place at SummerSlam 2024.

The return of the Original Tribal Chief had been expected by the WWE Universe for weeks in the run-up towards SummerSlam. Reigns hadn’t been seen in WWE since his loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40: Sunday.

Roman Reigns Returns

In the Undisputed WWE Title match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa, The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa) came to the aid of Sikoa. As promised by Arn Anderson, Rhodes had backup of his own in the form of Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.

In the ring, Rhodes leveled Solo Sikoa with a spear and a Superman punch. Donned in an OTC shirt (Original Tribal Chief), Reigns shared a look with Rhodes, but opted not to attack the man who beat him at WrestleMania 40. Rhodes would then hit a Cross Rhodes to get the win and retain his title.

Rhodes and Anderson were allies in All Elite Wrestling during Cody’s time with the company from 2019 to 2022. In May of this year, Anderson shared that he would not be renewing his contract with the All-Elite promotion and his tenure officially ended on May 31.

In the Cleveland Browns Stadium, Rick and Scott Steiner were very pleased to see their kin win the gold and were joined by ‘Diamond’ Dallas Page.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 Tryouts: CM Punk Visits, Training Footage

Mere days ahead of his long-awaited return to the ring, CM Punk stopped by the WWE SummerSlam 2024 tryouts in Cleveland, Ohio. Attending the tryouts, Punk spoke about learning the fundamentals of running the ropes, stating that it’s akin to learning how to swim. Punk also enjoyed a chat with WWE SVP of Talent Development Shawn Michaels and had some words of encouragement to those trying out for the company.

WWE SummerSlam Tryouts

For the first time ever, fans have been able to watch the WWE SummerSlam tryouts as part of the OnLocation VIP package. The tryouts have reportedly welcomed some world-class athletes, including NFL signing Atrilleon ‘Trill’ Williams as well as Elijah Holyfield, son of boxing icon Evander Holyfield.

WWE has hosted several tryouts over the years in its effort to fill the company’s roster with the best athletes in the world. In 2021, WWE held tryouts over SummerSlam weekend in Las Vegas. Several notable names were recruited following these tryouts including Nikkita Lyons, Tatum Paxley, Edris Enofe, Javier Bernal, and Monday Night Raw’s Maxxine Dupri.

WWE SummerSlam 2024

SummerSlam 2024 will take place on August 3, one day after the Priority Pass tryouts, from the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. The show will be the second SummerSlam from Cleveland and currently has seven matches announced. In addition to in-ring action, SummerSlam weekend will see Damian Priest: Live, which will include the premiere of his WWE: 24 episode and a live panel from El Campeon.

Keep tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest from these upcoming talent tryouts as well as the Biggest Party of the Summer.

WWE SummerSlam: Will Roman Reigns Return?

At WrestleMania 40: Sunday, Roman Reigns’ 1,316-day run as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion ended, marking the finish to one of the greatest stories in modern WWE history. Not long after this monumental moment, it became apparent that Reigns would not be appearing anytime soon, leaving fans all the more eager to see him again.

Though absent from WWE programming, Reigns has not been taking things easy. The former World Champion was spotted the week after his Philadelphia defeat filming a comedy heist film with Keke Palmer. Reigns has also been training hard in the gym ahead of his inevitable return to the squared circle.

But when will this return come? Well many believe that the Tribal Chief’s comeback will be at SummerSlam this Saturday in Cleveland.

It’s worth remembering that Reigns has a history of huge moments at the Biggest Party of the Summer. It was in 2018 that Reigns ended the 504-day reign of Brock Lesnar as Universal Champion, a reign that now pails in comparison to the Head of the Table. Just two years later, Reigns would return from a hiatus brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, and it’d be just one week later that he’d capture the Universal Title.

But what would a Roman Reigns return look like at SummerSlam 2024? If he does make an appearance, it’ll almost certainly be in the Undisputed WWE title match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa. In Reigns’ absence, Sikoa has laid claim to being the Tribal Chief and has made a series of remarks about Reigns himself. From claiming Roman Reigns will never return to essentially daring Reigns to show-up, stating in a promo that if Reigns has a problem with Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline, he knows where to find him.

The Bloodline Civil War of the summer of 2023 proved popular with fans, and the Cleveland Browns Stadium could be the epicenter of a second conflict. With the recent arrivals of Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu, there are more family members than ever before, ensuring a much wider conflict than what fans saw last year.

Of course, the question then is who would Reigns recruit to his side, especially given his past treatment of his own kin. While Jimmy Uso (a victim of Sikoa’s Bloodline) may fall back in line with Roman, it’s hard to see Jey Uso returning to SmackDown and aligning with the brother and cousin who did him wrong. Interestingly enough, Zilla Fatu, the son of Umaga, is reportedly in Cleveland, with some speculating his debut could come with Reigns’ return.

But there’s also another option that few have considered; that Reigns isn’t returning to confront Sikoa and his allies, but to align with them. After all, Sikoa will be facing Cody Rhodes, the man who ended Reigns’ run on top, a fact that the former champion will not have forgotten.

Will Roman Reigns return at WWE SummerSlam this weekend, and if so what role will he play in the fate of the Undisputed WWE Championship?

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on the Tribal Chief.

Boxing Icon’s Son Reported To Participate At WWE SummerSlam Tryout

The son of a true legend in the world of professional boxing will be part of the upcoming WWE tryouts that will take place over SummerSlam weekend. Elijah Holyfield, the son of Evander Holyfield, will be a part of the tryouts, PW Insider reports. The tryouts will take place on Friday, August 2, and for the first time ever, fans will be able to watch the tryouts and perhaps get their first glimpse at a future WWE Champion.

Despite being the son of one of the biggest names in boxing, Elijah Holyfield has focused is athletic career on football. The 26-year-old played college football in Georgia and has been signed by the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals as a running back. Holyfield stands at 5-foot-10 and weighs 215lb.

On Twitter this week, the younger Holyfield gave a taste of his athletic prowess.

Should Elijah make it through the tryouts and sign a WWE contract, he wouldn’t be the first member of his family to compete in a wrestling ring. During an August 2007 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, Evander Holyfield, subbing for the ‘injured’ MVP, boxed Matt Hardy. After Holyfield refused to do more damage to Hardy who was seemingly unable to fight back, MVP got in the face of the boxer and earned a right hand for his troubles.

WWE has held tryouts around several events in recent years with names like Nikkita Lyons, Tatum Paxley, Edris Enofe, Javier Bernal, and Monday Night Raw’s Maxxine Dupri all joining after a SummerSlam tryout. These tryouts have demonstrated that there is no one way to make it into WWE and an athletic background outside of the ring can often be as valuable as someone spending years on the independents.

Fans Invited To Watch WWE SummerSlam Tryouts In Historic First

WWE will continue its search for new talent with tryouts over SummerSlam weekend, and for the first time ever, fans will be able to watch the potential stars of tomorrow. On Twitter, Shawn Michaels, WWE SVP of Talent Development, shared that fans will be able to watch the tryouts via the WWE Priority Pass. Holders of the past will also be able to participate in a meet and greet with Tiffany Stratton and Jey Uso, and will participate in a Q&A with Michaels himself.

WWE has hosted several tryouts over the years in its effort to fill the company’s roster with the best athletes in the world. In 2021, WWE held tryouts over SummerSlam weekend in Las Vegas. WWE SummerSlam 2024

SummerSlam 2024 will take place at the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. News of the event’s location was shared on Logan Paul’s ImPaulsive podcast and as pointed out at the time, the show will mark the first time that SummerSlam has taken place in Cleveland since 1996.

With the event over two months away, no matches have been confirmed yet. With that said, Paul, a proud Clevelander, has teased facing NBA legend Lebron James at the Biggest Party of the Summer

If Paul is serious about competing at SummerSlam, then he may have more than the U.S. Championship to defend. The Maverick will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at King And Queen Of The Ring.

One name fans could be seeing at SummerSlam 2024 is CM Punk who has been out of action since suffering a torn triceps injury during January’s Men’s Royal Rumble match. A recent report shared a positive update on Punk’s recovery with SummerSlam being (theoretically) possible for him. Despite his injury, Punk has been feuding with Drew McIntyre on Monday Night Raw.

SummerSlam is one of WWE’s original ‘big 4’ events, along with WrestleMania, Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble. Cleveland’s own Logan Paul, the reigning WWE United States champion, says wrestling fans should expect a star-studded roster of celebrity guest appearances.

“I wanna bring my brother Jake. I want MGK to be there, I want the Kelce brothers to be there. I want it to be one of the biggest events Cleveland has ever seen.”

He added, “Oh, Dave Chapelle will absolutely be there” and hopes to secure an opponent that he can “bring the house down” with. Who could that be?

SummerSlam Attendance

Last year’s SummerSlam was held at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, with an attendance of 51,477 and a gate of $8.5 million. Cleveland Browns Stadium has a listed capacity of 67,431 and WWE should have no problem packing fans into another huge NFL stadium.

Logan Paul: Dave Chappelle Will “Absolutely” Be At SummerSlam 2024 In Cleveland

Some consider Dave Chappelle the greatest living comedian today, but he is also controversial for others for a variety of reasons. Either way, he is apparently going to be at the biggest party of the summer in Cleveland, if Logan Paul has anything to say about it.

SummerSlam 2024 is coming to Cleveland on August 3rd, and Logan Paul is hyped about it. In reaction to the strong rumors before the big announcement, The Maverick listed off a ton of people who will be at SummerSlam, and Chappelle was one of those names.

Logan Paul’s Reaction to SummerSlam Announcement

SummerSlam is one of WWE’s biggest events of the year. So, naturally, they will bring in some big names. A lot of people either sleep on Cleveland, or they use the city as a punchline, one that has long-lost its topical punch. The truth is that a lot of big names have come out of the city, and Logan Paul wants his Cleveland connection to turn out for SummerSlam.

During his Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul made his excitment about SummerSlam 2024’s location very clear. He wants his brother there, along with Machine Gun Kelly. He also named the Kelce Brothers, but the cherry on top was the Half Baked star himself, Dave Chappelle.

“I wanna bring my brother Jake [Paul], I want MGK to be there, I want the Kelce brothers to be there, I want it to be one of the biggest events Cleveland has ever seen & hopefully I can get an opponent who I can bring the house down with — oh Dave Chappelle will absolutely be there.”

Logan Paul also called out LeBron James to step up in Cleveland for SummerSlam. e’ll have to see if King James takes The Maverick up on that.

As strange as it may be to have Chappelle at SummerSlam, Triple H is a fan. He has attended one of Chappelle’s stand-up shows in recent memory. Vince McMahon also went along, but it would obviously be The Game making the call to bring Chappelle in for SummerSlam nowadays.

SummerSlam 2024 Hype

As of this writing, no matches have been announced for SummerSlam 2024. The company has a date and location locked in. Now, they will make their way to Cleveland in August.

SummerSlam brought a ton of revenue and fans to Detroit last year, so Cleveland has an excellent reason to be excited about SummerSlam coming in. There will be a lot of fans tuning in to see what surprises WWE has in store for them, and Cleveland will likely be represented in full-force throughout the show.

SEScoops will have full coverage of the road to SummerSlam, and beyond. Keep checking back for constant updates and headlines for the stories that you need.

SummerSlam 2024: Cleveland Browns Stadium Hosting WWE’s Biggest Party of the Summer

SummerSlam is one of WWE’s big 4 premium live events, and now we know which city will host the event that has become an extravaganza. The company is leaning toward booking stadiums for their massive shows, and they did it again in Cleveland.

WWE, along with Haslam Sports Group and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, have announced that WWE SummerSlam is coming to Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

The event will be preceded by a series of activities spread across the week, including Friday Night SmackDown at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on August 2, along with various fan and community engagements leading up to and following SummerSlam.

Opened in 1999, Cleveland Browns Stadium hosts the NFL team and has a max capacity of approximately 67,000 people.

Ohio’s WWE Connection

This year marks SummerSlam’s return to Cleveland for the first time since August 1996. The city has hosted plenty of amazing shows for decades. Now, WWE is coming to the famous NFL venue where the Browns play on the gridiron.

Several active WWE Superstars hail from Cleveland and the state of Ohio, including Logan Paul, The Miz, Johnny Gargano. Alexa Bliss and the Creed Brothers.

Jon Moxley, Nic and Ryan Nemeth, Abyss, Madison Rayne and Shark Boy all hail from the Buckeye State, as did the late great ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage.

The Maverick Brings The Hype

Logan Paul United States champion first broke the news of SummerSlam coming to Cleveland on the March 12 episode ofd his Impaulsive podcast.

WWE’s reigning United States champion goes ‘big’ with everything he does, so he didn’t just reveal one of WWE’s biggest premium live events is coming to his home city. Logan Paul called out NBA kingpin LeBron James and rattled off several other celebrities who may be there, including comedian Dave Chappelle:

Cleveland SummerSlam Reactions

Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE Chief Content Officer, expressed excitement about the collaboration:

“The city of Cleveland and WWE have a longstanding history. We are eager to bring SummerSlam, SmackDown, and a range of events to the town in collaboration with Haslam Sports Group and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.”

David Jenkins, Chief Operating Officer of Haslam Sports Group, added:

“We’re delighted to host WWE’s SummerSlam at Cleveland Browns Stadium this August and showcase the city’s offerings to the WWE Universe. Hosting such a prestigious event at our stadium will generate substantial economic benefits for the region and spotlight Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Browns Stadium as ideal destinations for major events.”

David Gilbert, President and CEO of Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, echoed this sentiment:

“We are thrilled to welcome WWE this August, bolstering Cleveland’s reputation as a prime location for major U.S. events. SummerSlam 2024 is poised to be Ohio’s largest WWE event, providing a significant economic boost to our community while spotlighting Cleveland’s vibrant downtown, authentic experiences, and exciting attractions.”

SummerSlam 2023 Success

This announcement follows last year’s record-setting SummerSlam at Ford Field in Detroit, which established a new gate record for any non-WrestleMania event with $8.5 million until the 2024 Royal Rumble surpassed it. Additionally, it became the most-viewed SummerSlam in WWE history.

Cities are climbing over each other to host WWE events for a reason. Now, Cleveland will get one of the big 4 premium live events, and all the economic boost that will come with it.

Logan Paul Calls Out LeBron James For Cleveland SummerSlam Showdown

WWE SummerSlam 2024, is coming to Cleveland, Ohio, and U.S. Champion Logan Paul wants a piece of Lebron James at the biggest party of the summer.

On his ImPaulsive podcast, the reigning WWE U.S. Champion, a native of Forest City,  confirmed that SummerSlam will take place at the Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3. As Paul pointed out, the show will mark the first time that SummerSlam has taken place in Cleveland since 1996.

Logan Paul’s Potential Opponent

Paul and his co-hosts, which includes his PRIME Energy co-founder KSI, spoke about bringing the excitement to the upcoming show. The Maverick especially wanted to put on a good show in his hometown.

When one of Paul’s co-hosts suggested LeBron James, Paul said he’s “probably” going to be stepping in the ring with the basketball legend. Dave Chapelle was also thrown out as a potential opponent, which Paul was also on board with.

WWE & Cleveland
