In the latest edition of the Elite’s Youtube series “Being the Elite”, Omega and the Young Bucks play a “harmful rib” on Masa. They also welcome Flip Gordon to the Ring of Honor roster.
Cody and Frankie Kazarian also appear on this episode:
Being the Elite
The Bucks and Omega have now posted 57 episodes of the show, which often includes other members of Bullet Club.
Flip Gordon, who took part in Ring of Honor tapings back in June, only started his career back in 2015.
The Young Bucks recently won the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championships at Dominion, and are scheduled to defend those titles against former champions, Roppongi Vice, at the NJPW Los Angeles show on July 1st. The Bucks are also ROH tag team champions, and will most likely face War Machine soon.
Kenny Omega most recently wrestled to a time limit draw with Okada at Dominion. He is scheduled to participate in the IWGP U.S Championship tournament on July 1st and 2nd.
UK based Independent promotion World Association of Wrestling (WAW) have announced that Jack Swagger will be performing for the company at their March 11th TV tapings in Norwich, England.
WAW is owned by Ricky Knight, father of WWE Superstar Paige. The Knight family have a close relationship with some big names in the industry, most notably Scott Hall & of course Alberto Del Rio/El Patron. There are currently no further bookings for Swagger in the UK and his opponent for March 11th is yet to be named, however for his first stint on the UK scene since his WWE departure it is likely that he will make some more appearances over the weekend.
PROGRESS Atlas Champion Matt Riddle has been announced for the PROGRESS ‘Freedom’s Road’ tapings on March 6th/7th. This will be the second bout of tapings for the company’s new concept that launched last month as an alternative to their previous ENDVR shows.
Although traditionally PROGRESS tend to focus heavily on UK based talents Riddle has been a revelation since debuting at Chapter 39 ‘The Graps of Wrath’ against Will Ospreay. He followed this up by answering Rampage Brown’s open challenge for the ATLAS title and won the bout to become the 2nd ATLAS Champion in PROGRESS history.
The prospects for TNA surviving as a wrestling promotion in time for Sunday’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view event and the subsequent TV tapings appear to be getting more and more grim by the hour. First, on Wednesday evening, a report from WrestlingInc revealed that according to “a veteran TNA talent,” a number of wrestlers’ flights to Orlando for next week have been cancelled. It wasn’t made clear if this was any of the advertised talent for Bound For Glory or just wrestlers set to be in matches not yet announced for the show.
In addition, the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribers only), there are arguably some mixed messages. Dave Meltzer writes that “the feeling now is [Dixie] Carter is going to make the best deal for her[self],” but that at least as of press time late last night, WWE, who’s in the best position for a mercenary deal like that, is not at the negotiating table. Of course, it should be noted that when WWE bought WCW’s assets in 2001, WWE had already passed on a buyout and stepped in when it became clear there were no other buyers. Like with WCW, if WWE were to get TNA, it would be expected that they would buy only the assets and not the company outright.
Meltzer added that TNA’s debt “is in the millions of dollars” with creditors including Billy Corgan, Aroluxe, and others, and the debt may very well be greater than the value of the company at this point. That gap is even more pronounced if the company can’t get the ~$600,000 they need by Friday: TNA will be in breach of its TV deals, quite possibly lose them, and literally lose all value other than that of the tape library.
As of this writing, TNA has 30 hours or so to secure funding. If they don’t, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where the company doesn’t need to file bankruptcy. Even if the tape library and trademarks are sold to WWE, that most likely won’t cover all of TNA’s debt. For WWE’s purposes, with no rush on their side and no competition for the intellectual property if it went it’s not ridiculous to suggest that they could get a lower price that way.
The following report comes courtesy of F4WOnline.com:
Dark match:
Jeff Cobb defeated El Mariachi Loco
Wednesday, February 24th:
Jack Evans defeated PJ Black
Jack cut a heel promo on the crowd before the match started where he called himself “The Dragon Slayer”. Midway through, Drago appeared on one of the corner platforms wearing a dragon skull and taunting Jack with nunchucks. Finish saw Drago come down and try to spit mist at Jack, but ended up hitting PJ which led to a rollup.
King Cuerno defeated Killshot
They messed up a move on the apron but it didn’t take much away from the match. Cuerno kept beating on Killshot afterwards until Fenix came out for the save
Chavo Guerrero, Mr Cisco, & Cortez Castro defeated El Texano Jr in a gauntlet match
Cisco is eliminated within 10 seconds after a kick to the face, Castro put up more of a fight in that it took just 2 minutes to beat him. Most of the match was Chavo/Texano with Cortez using Texano’s rope to trip him and hold his feet down for the cover
Johnny Mundo defeated Cage
A woman came out to distract Cage but I could not identify her (Blonde hair, similar attire to Asuka). After the match, both of them beat down and taunted Cage. Good match
Wednesday, March 2nd:
Cobra ??? (Last name sounded like Moon) defeated Sexy Star via submission
Cobra made her debut and looked to be Cheerleader Melissa under a blue snakeskin bodysuit (If it helps, she had a tiki tattoo on the back of her neck). The Mack came out to cheer Sexy on and Marty the Moth was in the stands near the end to distract Sexy. Cobra won with a rear naked choke and did some hissing towards Marty, clearly some type of relationship between them.
Prince Puma vs Pentagon Jr went to a no contest
Nice back & forth matchup until Mil Muertes ran 5 minutes into the match and beat both of them out. Mil left both laying with a double flatliner
Fenix defeated King Cuerno in a ladder match to regain the Gift of the Gods title
Awesome ladder match which saw them fight in the stands and in the floor seats. Match ended with Fenix giving Cuerno a top-rope hurricanrana through a table, then grabbing the title. The tapings ended with a staredown between Mil Muertes from his throne and Fenix on the ladder.
There is a major snowstorm forecasted to hit the northeast late Monday through Wednesday. There is a chance that the storm could affect Monday’s Raw but Smackdown may be a bigger issue. There’s 12 to 24 inches of snow forecasted in Boston for Tuesday, the site of the Smackdown tapings. This puts WWE in a tough spot because they don’t have much time to reschedule Smackdown for later in the week considering that the show needs to be on the air on Wednesday night in Canada.
The Washington Post is calling this snowstorm a blockbuster event. Meteorologists are concerned about the potential snow and strong winds. The other issue is that there is also a pool of cold air that is coming down from Canada prior to the storm and these colder than usual temperatures would ensure a forecast for more snow than rain and drive up the snow-to-liquid ratio which would lead to higher snow totals and paralyze travel.
– WWE is advertising both John Cena and Triple H for the April 9th SmackDown taping from Boston, MA. Triple H appearing at a taping just 2 days after WrestleMania 29 could be another indication that he’ll be wrestling Brock Lesnar at WM29.

He then heads overseas to Europe for another Fozzy tour that begins on April 11th and runs through the end of the month.
At Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown tapings from Jacksonville, Florida, Mark Henry defeated Randy Orton to earn a spot in the upcoming Elimination Chamber match at the upcoming pay-per-view.
The participants for the match now include Mark Henry, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio and Daniel Bryan. Two more Superstars will be decided in the coming weeks, with the winner facing the World Heavyweight champion at WrestleMania 29.
