Spoiler: Former Knockouts Champion Returns To The Ring At Latest Impact Tapings

Hot off the heels of Hard To Kill, Impact Wrestling held their Fallout event the following day that included the return of an iconic former champion.

On January 14, Impact filmed their next round of television tapings, featuring a Knockouts Tag Team Championship match on the card. Reigning champions Taya Valkyrie and Jessicka represented The Death Dollz in defending their titles against a newly formed team.

“The Quintessential Diva” Gisele Shaw was one of their opponents to step up the plate. Since officially joining the company early last year, Shaw has gone through a rotation of tag team partners, including Lady Frost, The Influence, and VXT. While Shaw’s previous track record in the tag team division hasn’t been the best, it seems as though Shaw received a chance to redeem herself by teaming with a 5-time Knockouts Champion.

After reveling in the massive Knockouts Championship win of her friend, Mickie James, the night before, Tara returned to the Impact Zone for the first time since 2013 to compete. Unfortunately for this team, though, their run didn’t last long.

Tensions began to brew between Tara and Shaw, leading to an in-ring confrontation between the two. After Shaw refused to tag her partner in, Tara soon delivered Widows Peak to Gisele Shaw. As a result, The Death Dollz retained their Knockouts Tag Team Championships.

This tag team bout marked Tara’s — real name Lisa Marie Varon, Victoria in WWE — first match since January 2021 at the Royal Rumble, and her second since September 2019 when she retired from professional wrestling.

The tapings took place at the Center Stage Theater in Atlanta, Georgia.

Former WWE Producer Arrested In Indiana

A former WWE backstage producer was recently arrested in Vanderburgh County, Indiana. According to a report from PW Insider, Sarah Stock was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with aggravated battery, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and resisting law enforcement.

She was booked and released early Sunday morning by the Vandenburgh Sheriff’s Department.

Stock had been with WWE since 2015 but was furloughed this spring and later released due to the ongoing global pandemic. She wrestled as Sarita in TNA Wrestling from 2009 to 2013. She has also competed for companies such as Shimmer as well as CMLL in Mexico. Stock had previously wrestled under the names Dark Angel and Canadian Dark Angel as well.

While in TNA, Stock won the promotion’s women’s tag-team championships twice. She won the inaugural titles in 2009 with Taylor Wilde. They would hold the belts for 106 days before dropping them to Awesome Kong and Hamada.

Stock would team with Zelina Vega in 2011 and again win the belts. This time her team defeated Angelina Love and Winter to gain the championships. They would hold the titles for 129 days until dropping them to Brooke Tessmacher and Tara. Her 2 reigns and 227 combined days spent with 1/2 of the women’s tag belts ranks her 5th all-time in the promotion.

Victoria Officially Retires From Pro Wrestling

Former WWE Superstar Victoria has officially announced her retirement.

Victoria, whose real name is Lisa Marie Varon, made the announcement via her Instagram account. She wrestled her last match this past weekend in a bout against Melina for Masters of the Ring Entertainment.

She thanked the promotion for putting her in their main event for her final match, adding that it’s an honor to have left the ring that night as the Women’s Masters of the Ring Entertainment Champion. Varon also thanked Melina, Terri Runnels and Trish Stratus for sharing the moment with her. She asked that fans don’t feel sad for her, but instead for them to be happy as she has had an awesome 20 year run in the industry.

“As @therealkurtangle said, “Oh It’s True. It’s damn True” Thank you @mastersofringentertainment for main eventing my final match this past Saturday. It’s such an honor leaving the ring as the Women’s Masters of the Ring Entertainment Champion. Thank you @realmelina , @theterrirunnels and @trishstratuscom for sharing this moment with me. Don’t be sad for me… be happy for me. I had an awesome 20 year run. I love you all so very much. I’m appreciative of your support and loyalty.”

Lisa Marie Varon Talks Possible WWE Return, Trish Stratus, Performance Center & More

The following are highlights of a new WNS Podcast interview with former WWE Diva and TNA Knockout Victoria (aka Tara, aka Lisa Marie Varon):

Thoughts on making appearances at conventions: “It’s a lot of fun. Absolutely. That’s basically what I do. I have a restaurant here in Chicago and I’m here every single night. So, it’s basically a fanfest every night anyway. I’m taking pictures, signing autographs and talking about what I love. Watching what I love and making new friends in my city. So, I’m super blessed at this point in my life right now. All those bumps and bruises in the past are really paying off. I really love doing these autograph sessions. I go way over and beyond. I don’t want anybody to have bad experience. I like every fan or follower to have a unique experience meeting me. I absolutely love them. It’s also a reunion for me to see some old friends at these conventions. You try to make it a little bit of a vacation just to like have dinner with old buddies and catch up and find out what they’re doing in their life.”

On opening her own restaurant in Chicago: “It’s going well. This is our third restaurant. We had two more and we had a custom car shop and when we first got married we had a gym so we’re not foreign to owning our own businesses. My husband’s very stubborn and cannot work for anybody else and he’s been a chef since he was about 15 or 16. He’s always been with food. It’s awesome. Our menu, if you go to thesquaredcircle.biz, and look at our menu it’s very unusual items. I named a few things after wrestlers and we do stuffed burgers and pizza and pizza made with duck fat. We have adult milkshakes. We do very well. We’re both workaholics. I’m the front of the house and he’s the back of the house and it works out very well.”

On the upcoming Sweet And Sour Larry Sweeney Night: “We’ve had Ring Of Honor donating some gifts to auction off and all proceeds go to a suicide prevention organization. So, we’re excited to be a part of it because his friend Karen, actually she’s here because it’s indy night so she lives in Chicago, brought it to us and we jumped on it and we reached out and said we definitely would love to be part of it. It’s pretty sad. In wrestling, you’re supposed to be this tough person with no family problems, you don’t really air out your dirty laundry so you kind of bottle it up a lot andxit’s important for people to know they can reach out and have someone to talk to if they’re under such bad times. I feel very lucky since I’ve got a lot of followers and very social media, I’m able to get the word out moreso then what Karen can do. Everybody should take a part in this. It’s not all about making money it’s giving back to charity and making people aware. We had an event where Jay Lethal and Roderick Strong came in as guest waiters and we gave the proceeds to Mick Foley’s charity. It’s a good thing.”

Thoughts on what it was like to be part of an elite roster of female wrestlers such as the WWE had. “It was quite an honour. At the time, we were very confident in our work but we were perfectionists and before every house show and before every TV, we were in the ring for 4hrs working with Fit Finlay, working with Arn Anderson, and Ricky Steamboat in the ring to try and better ourselves. We didn’t have to do it we just did it. We knew our division was growing and growing and getting more difficult and we wanted the viewers to respect us not just as female wrestlers but just as wrestlers period and when I look back, when I watch it here at the restaurant because we have the Network and when I watch some old matches and I remember afterwards, in my mind at the time I’d be like “that was an okay match”. And when I watch it now it’s like “That was a really good match!”. I beat myself up for two weeks after that match. We were such perfectionists. If one thing went wrong or if something didn’t look believable we’d dwell on it for a long, long time.”

Thoughts on intergender matches: “When we were doing those in the past, I was all for it. I mean working with a guy is so much easier than working with a girl because they’re so strong and they put you in moves that you didn’t know you could put yourself into. They really lead the match. They’re very good leaders. Eugene works really good, Nick Dinsmore was really good at making us look good. But now, we have indy night here and I was watching an intergender match where one of the girls got punched in the face by a guy and I went “NO WAY!” in my restaurant and they’re like “What? What happened?” and I go “A guy just get punched her in the face”. So, I think I got a little brainwashed and did a PG-13 and it was a little disturbing to watch. Because, when we first started, if I got punched in the face by a guy, I should move because they’re supposed to be a thousand times stronger than I am. So, it is difficult for me to watch. I don’t mind the mixed matches where it’s girl on girl and guy on guy and then teasing the girl about to hit the guy or the guy about to hit the girl and then getting cut off. But, I don’t want to see a girl get punched in the face by a dude.”

On a possible return to the ring or working as a trainer at the Performance Center. “I have heard that rumour. Everybody that’s been coming in every night goes “I read on the internet that you’re going back”. My phone hasn’t rang so I don’t know what you’re talking about. I have a lot to give, a lot of knowledge to share. I think I can help a lot of the girls. Whenever I watch some of the wrestling I text someone in the office and say “please give her to me for a month and I’ll work with her”. I don’t hear back, I think they think I’m joking but I never said I was retired. I think as a wrestler you don’t say retired because you aren’t always going to show up either back in WWE or the indy circuit so I don’t let myself get out of shape where I’m not ready to go in the ring. I think it’s an ego and a pride thing for me. And you think when you’re out that you can kind of let yourself go. It’s actually the opposite. When you’re “retired” and you go backstage people are checking you out going I wonder if she let herself go. It’s almost a little bit more pressure to stay in the same shape as when you left. God forbid you age or your metabolism slows down and you start enjoying the pizzas and the burgers every single day. I think maybe for a woman it’s a little different. We still have to take care of our face, our physique, ournails. You still have to present yourself as that girl that you left because people will start feeling sorry for you.”

The most important thing she’s learned being in the business. “For me, we were always walking on eggshells and always wondering am I pretty enough, am I skinny enough, did my armdrag look good, did people believe my match, were the fans involved. I think people think when people think you’ve made it to WWE that there’s no more pressure. It’s opposite now, When I go to indy shows, I wish I had the confidence level some of these indy guys have because once you’re brought up there you’re immediately put in a position where you need to be humble. I think what I learned is that you don’t settle for where you’re at. You always try to perfect yourself and strive to be better. Every match we had, we never walked away and said that was awesome. We’ll say “wow, thank you so much that was fun. Maybe we should do this next time”. In my day too, we were a little more snug or stiff. We laid things in a little bit tighter so that it’s more believable. You never settle for where you’re at. Like for me and my business, the restaurant, I’m still striving to make it better. We’re looking to expand now and it’s incredible and life passes you so fast?.”

Thoughts on her match with Trish Stratus at Survivor Series 2002: “It was an adrenaline rush I’ll tell you that. Her and I beat the crap out of each other. You have your best matches with your friends because you have a lot of trust. You put your body in their hands. And, her and I, the rule’s “don’t say sorry”, “thank you for the match right now. I’m sorry if I’m going to hurt you”, “Let’s give the fans a good show”. In that match, the mirror was supposed to be the finish. I was supposed to smash the mirror up on her head and in the match she stepped on it on a move and I didn’t realize it until I went to grab it and I was like “oh my god, oh my god”. And I also broke my nose in that match from that trash can and chipped a tooth. But that wasn’t the part I was upset about. It was the mirror, I was talking to myself and the mirror was talking back to me. But that was me, Crazy Victoria and everybody thought Trish was better and that symbolism of the mirror smashing on her head was ruined and we had to improvise. I grabbed the wrong fire extinguisher. It had the pin it and I took the pin out and sprayed her and ended it with a suplex. I would have rather had it with the mirror. That’s what my disappointment was. When I do watch it, my heart rate races again and I feel like I’m at Madison Square Garden and all my customers here are watching it. Because they all request to watch that match here so I play it once a night and I still get nervous watching it.”

On her Wrestlemania 20 match against Molly Holly: “I was nervous. She wanted to be the first woman to get her head shaved in history and so she was willing to put her hair on the line. I put my title on the line. When I was cutting her hair, I don’t know if you noticed but you’re supposed to cut it with scissors first and the guy that was standing next to us was actually Vince McMahon’s barber in real life. And no one went over how to shave a head and I cut her head several times. I mean I was nicking her skin on her head. And when I went back, I was like “oh my god, we’re going to get into a fistfight I know it. She’s gonna beat my a**” and it wasn’t that way and everybody was pleased with the match. Everybody was proud of us but at the same time I still felt bad because you really don’t want to cut someone open. Because we beat the heck out of each other during the match and now to cut her head it was really brutal and I remember them saying we need her bald by the time we get back and there’s no way. I asked the barber “can you help me?” and he goes “I’m not allowed to”. “But, I can’t do it”. And I’m smiling like I’m enjoying it but inside I’m going I don’t know how tofreakin’ shave her head. She came out here for an appearance at my restaurant to visit and I had it playing and she goes “I’m going to the bathroom I can’t watch this part” when she got her head shaved. But she’s a beautiful bald, she had the face for it.”

On her favourite person to travel with: “Oh my god, there’s so many. There’s Candice Michelle, Torrie Wilson, Chavo Guerrero,Carlito. Gail Kim was one of my favourites. ODB. I mean, you have to ride with people because you’re with them 24/7. You have to drive with them and check into hotels and the girls we share a room so you automatically form a bond. Brooke and I never had to go out. We’d have fun in the room telling stories and stuff like that. So, it was like yea herand I are very tight. Even still to this day. I did notice that people in WWE have a little bitmore stronger bond than I do with people in TNA. I think just because I was with WWE for ten years and we were on the road four days a week. Not just the Orlando show but we weren’t together that much. I immediately had a bond with ODB from TNA she was one of my close friends there. That’s who I’m facing at the Texas show. So I’m excited.”

On comparing the backstage atmosphere in WWE to that of TNA. “It’s completely different. I’m going to be honest with you, there was a lot of freedom at TNA. I remember coming there and asking “Hey what do you want out of this match”. “Oh, you just do what you do”. And I’m like “What?” because I’m not used to that. I was always used to a little bit more structure. There’s nothing like a production like WWE. No one is going to be WWE, ever. Also, there were times I found out I was pay per view through twitter and I called the office saying “Hey am I on pay per view and never got travel and it’s been two days I don’t know what’s going on”. WWE is organized. I’m used to organization and someone handling the PR department. Someone handling a photo shoot. So there is a department for every single thing you do in WWE. And if you’re lost, don’t know what’s going on, they have a department to help you out. But I did have a good career in TNA. I had some good matches. I want to go to TNA to face ODB and Kong so that was one of my dreams and I got to do it. And Mickie James and I had a cage match. I had a good run there. At the end, not so much. I didn’t feel the passion anymore. That’s the difference.”

Tara Says She’ll Never Return To TNA, Talks About Her Departure, WWE & More

The following are highlights from a recent interview with Lisa Marie Varon, who portrayed Knockout “Tara” in TNA Impact Wrestling and Diva “Victoria” in WWE.

How is the restaurant business going?

LMV: Awesome and chaotic. As with any new business, we’re still doing some fining tuning. But our staff is really coming together. We have received a great response from the community and are building up a solid customer base.

Tell me a little about the restaurant?

LMV: We are wrestling themed. We have a bunch of framed wrestling memorabilia, and we show as much wrestling as possible on our TVs. (WWE, TNA, Ring of Honor, Shimmer, lots of Indy stuff, you name it). We serve a great variety of brick oven pizza as well as about a dozen different stuffed burgers. We like to say that its all your guilty pleasures under one roof.

Let people know about your wrestling viewing parties at the restaurant and do you do them for other sports?

LMV: We show wrestling 7 days a week. Our WWE PPVs are insane! For Summerslam we had about five times as many people show up as we had room for. That was unfortunate. But it is an amazing environment to watch a PPV. The electricity and excitement is amazing! We also show Chicago sports and other major sporting events.

What did you learn most from your previous restaurant in Louisville?

LMV: That was more food focused. We definitely feel like we came in with a good foundation in that respect. Only now we have added an amazing experience to that. I’m so pleased with the way everything is going!

What are your thoughts regarding wrestling right now, how much do you want to do, do you want to continue full-time, part-time, interested in WWE this stage, going back to TNA at some point?

LMV: I like the direction that the Divas are heading. I also think there are a lot of talented females on the indy scene that could shine in TNA. I’m not sure that I understand what direction they are heading. They say never say never in this business. But I’m comfortable saying I will never return to TNA. I feel like I am still in peak physical condition. I still am able to have great matches. I would like to continue to wrestle, but my plate is full right now. We are looking at more locations for the restaurant. We are looking to expand our brand. I have an offer on the table outside of wrestling that I’m considering. There is also a group that has approached me about starting a wrestling organization. I am blessed to be in the position that I am in right now. I’m considering my next move, and for the time being, I won’t be taking any more Indy appearances outside of those I’ve already committed to.

Is it difficult being around good food all the time to maintain dietary discipline? Is not being on TV most weeks going to relax your diet or is it a thing that has nothing to do with being a wrestling performer?

LMV: I don’t have a super strict diet. I eat cheeseburgers 5 days a week. But i also eat lots of fruits and vegetables and lean meats. I ‘cheat’ in moderation. Plus I train like an elite athlete, so that allows me to indulge on the food side. I love to eat, and Chicago is a foodie town. I will continue to train like I have been. I never know what I’ll feel like doing next, and I want to be prepared for it.

On leaving TNA, did you have advanced warning or was it a surprise and how was it handled?

LMV: It was a surprise to me. I went to TNA because I wanted to work with some of the great female wrestlers that i hadn’t faced like Kong, ODB, and Sarita. TNA has definitely shifted their focus as far as the women’s division. It was really my love of wrestling that kept me going. I didn’t think it was the right fit for me anymore. My contract was up in a month or two. They knew I wasn’t going to re-sign. First, they had the travel guy call me and tell me I was released. Then Dixie called me later that day and said that it was a financial thing, and they knew I was ready to jump ship anyway. I think the classy thing to do would have been to give me the opportunity to quit rather than getting released. But at the end of the day, everyone got what they wanted.

Best and worst things about TNA right now?

LMV: I dont want to mention worst things, but the best is that I think women like Brooke and Taryn have really blossomed as wrestlers.

Thoughts on the Gail Kim and Taryn Terrell matches, Mickie James new TV character?

LMV: Gail is always a fantastic performer, and those matches really highlight how far Taryn has progressed. Mickie is an amazing talent, and shines in anything she does.

How was working with Jessie Godderz and Robbie E?

LMV: So much fun! Did you need to ask? We had an amazing time. Those are two young charismatic guys who both can have long successful wrestling careers.

Tara Talks About Impact Going On The Road, Trish Stratus’ WWE HOF Induction & More

TNA Knockout Tara recently spoke to Kevin Kellam of Examiner.com. Here are some highlights of what she said about:

The feeling in TNA with IMPACT going on the road: “Our fans get spoiled and callused. They want to see us draw blood. In Orlando, thank god we are going on the road, our fans in Orlando got a little bit spoiled because they see us every week, but we were out there killing ourselves for entertainment. We are actresses and actors who do our stunts with drama. And when they don’t react to certain things, it’s like my God, what do you want me to do?!”

If it was becoming an issue in Orlando: “Not for like my bosses. It’s just that we feed off the fans, we feed off their reactions. It becomes stale (without those reactions). And now we get to see fresh faces and that’s why it’s nice to go overseas too. I am just excited about going on the road, you have no idea. We don’t want ‘hush hush’ fans. It’s nice to hear everything, I have a problem where I can hear everything in the first couple rows. And if I hear someone cheering for my opponent. I am going to go out there and freaking tell them like it is. I am very fan-interactive. That’s a big part of TNA.”

Trish Stratus being inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame and if she will attend: “Oh she so deserves it! I am going to be honest with you, I wish I could induct her. I was in WWE. I am proud to be a part of WWE history, and now I am with TNA, there is no rivalry between companies for me. I love both companies but I am super proud of her, she deserves it for ‘the Golden era’. She also reached out and called me and said thank you, you helped me be inducted because we had hellacious matches. That’s a true professional, she appreciates who got her there. I would love to be there, but I don’t know how both companies would feel. Honestly, I am super proud. I love her, we are best friends.”

Tara Interview – Her Upcoming Documentary, Working With Mickie James, Breaking Her Arm, Being A Trailblazer

Former WWE Diva and current TNA star and Knockouts Champion Tara joined The Rack Thursday Night. In a nearly 20 minute interview, she discussed her upcoming documentary about being female in the world of professional wrestling, her feelings seeing the work-in-progress, what it’s like being a such a strong female character, breaking her arm in the famous cage match with Mickie James, her experience with hardcore matches, her feelings about the WWE Divas and how they are handled on TV, where does she the Knockout division going in 2013 and more.

About her upcoming documentary ‘Tarafied’ : “Well, it’s still in the works. He’s still adding onto it. It was done by Matt Goldberg, and he did it as a project for college; he’s a super fan of wrestling and I saw hime backstage here for quite a while and he finally came up to me. He did one on The Pope (D’Angelo), Elijah Burke and it went to Cannes Film Festival in France, so he’s presenting that to Cannes as well and it’s a documentary about how it is to be a female in a male-dominated industry, you know what I mean? So, I’m really flattered; it shows a lot of behind the scenes, things that the fans are not allowed usually to see. So, it’s kind of interesting. He’s still adding on; I’ll be opening a restaurant in Chicago in March and he’s going to be covering that too, so he’ll keep on adding to it and I’m very excited to see how it turns out.”

What she thought when she saw the in-progress work : “I’ll be honest, it’s hard; I mean, I’ve watched it and it’s really hard watching yourself, I find it very difficult. People think they love seeing themselves on TV; I’m the worst, I’m so critical. I’m a perfectionist, like when I watch my matches, I’m never happy with what I did. I mean, there’s always something I’ll beat myself up over and I guess that’s what makes you a better athlete; when you’re constantly criticizing your work. But when I watched that and there were some interviews backstage of what people felt about me and I was so flattered, I cannot tell you. I mean, we live, like, in a small bubble at work here and you don’t realize what live you touch, you don’t know. Because for us, it’s just we come to work, we do our thing, and go back to the hotel maybe work out and go on to the next town, you know what I mean? We are caught up in our own life and we forget, like, what we do and I didn’t realize people felt like that and I got teary-eyed. They interviewed a couple of my co-workers and what they thought of me and I had no idea they felt like that. So, I needed to hear that. It was a good ego boost for me, you know? Everyone needs a little bit of a compliment once and a while.”

On being such a strong female character on-screen and in the business : “It is a hard industry, and I’m not complaining. I love, love, love what I do for a living. I mean, I’m very blessed and I have a passion for this and I think it shows in my work. You have to be cut out to handle this sort of lifestyle. We are gone 250 days a year and this becomes our second family. People say, ‘Don’t neglect your family at home’; it’s unrealistic to say that, because the show much go on; there’s no excuses for missing a show here. It’s entertainment; we don’t have an offseason. We get Christmas off to spend with the family, but I think that’s why you don’t see a lot of females in this industry. I remember when I first got into it, maybe I had been in for about five years, and I’d see new girls come in and trying it out; like remember the Diva Search? I think they had a totally different image of what we did; I think they expected limos to pick us up at the airport, 5-star hotels but little do they know that three girls travel together maybe with a guy, hopefully a guy will travel with us, cause it’s a little dangerous out there; we’re not in rich areas all the time, you know? We’re independent contractors so we split costs; we all rent the same car and sometimes go three to four people in a room, it ends up becoming a really good time, don’t get me wrong. Occasionally, we will room by ourselves; that’s when we’re allowed to be like ‘I need some time to just be by myself’ and zone out in my own hotel room.

So, it’s a lonely road and you don’t cry. You just hurt a lot here; we’re actresses who do our own stunts and you get hurt and just don’t show it, it’s weird. In a normal lifestyle, like actors, if they get hurt, they pull you aside and are like ‘Oh I’m sorry, let me get ice on that’. For us, we don’t show pain, just because I don’t anyone to know that I’m hurt; that means I can’t wrestle the next match. Isn’t that weird? You just damage yourself more when you don’t say anything. It’s just a different lifestyle that we lead and I’ll be honest, if I had a daughter and she told me she wanted to be a wrestler, I don’t know if I’d be all gung-ho about it. I’ll be honest; that means I won’t see her 250 days out of the year and be on the road. You have to have thick skin for the business and I’m one the people that are very, very sensitive and I never got that thick skin. I don’t know what happened, but I’m very sensitive; you can ask anybody that I work with. They go ‘How are you still sensitive and still here?’ and I go ‘I don’t know’. It’s a tough industry but the tough survive. I’ve been doing it 13 years, gosh, I can’t believe it. I still feel like a rookie sometimes. It’s weird, it’s very weird.”

Being a trailblazer and working cage matches as a woman: “They’re scary, I’m not going to lie. I mean, imagine the ring without that cage and you stand on the turnbuckle, you know, when I do my moonsaults looking down, and you’re going to laugh but I have a fear of heights. Isn’t that crazy? And I look outside (the ring) and I go ‘Oh my god’ and you get that little tingly feeling because you’re so scared. And then imagine going to the top of the cage and looking down, to the outside it looks further, but again when you’re in this business; especially when I came to TNA, I talked a big game and said you’ll rarely find me saying no to anything. If you give me in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, I’ll do it. You give me a cage match or a hardcore match, I’m game. I said, whatever you present to me, I will do the best I can and you won’t be disappointed. And, of course, what do they do, they put in them. Oh my god.”

On breaking her arm in the main event cage match with Mickie James: “It’s scary; with Mickie James, I tore my elbow in the end and it snapped back. I had Earl Hebner say ‘I’m ending it”; they were going to call the doctors and end the match and that was the main event, so I told him, and excuse my language, I told him to ‘f off’ in the ring and he goes ‘No, what’s wrong?’ and I go, ‘I think I broke my arm’. He said, ‘End it, end it; I’m ending it’ and I go ‘No, no. Don’t you dare!’ I’m main-eventing and you’ll have me get rolled up or something? The ending was she went to the top and ‘Theszed’ me from the top of the cage and I caught her and she rolled me up. And then as soon as they tell you, when the ref tells you ‘We’re dark; we’re off camera now’, that’s when my tears burst out. They told me ‘Stay down stay down’ because my arm was, you can see it on camera if you watch it back, it had a weird look to it. I tore my tendon and of course what do I saw when I come back to the agents and all my bosses and stuff? ‘I’m so sorry I hurt myself’ and they’re like ‘Are you serious?! You just got a standing ovation from the boy in the backstage. What other guy would have completed that?? You are tough.’ And I go ‘Yeah, but I hurt myself, I’m so sorry.’”
