Another NWA Star Gives Notice – Unhappy With Company’s Treatment of Her After Injury

Another NWA star is done with the promotion just days after Nick Aldis announced his intention to leave when his contract is up.

Aldis, arguably the NWA’s biggest star since its 2017 revamp, made his announcement last week and has been suspended from the promotion.

The two-time former NWA Worlds Champion has been openly critical of NWA President Billy Corgan who he claims disrespected Mickie James ahead of and after NWA Empowerrr.

Taryn Terrell

Aldis’ contract with the NWA will expire in January 2023, and Taryn Terrell is also set to leave the promotion.

Fightful Select reports that Terrell gave her notice last month, and has expressed concerns about the lack of direction in the show.

Terrell, who worked as Tiffany in WWE’s ECW, wrestled in ten matches during her time with the NWA.

Her most recent match saw Terrell and Natalia Markova lose to Max the Impaler in a handicap tag match on the August 31, NWA USA Taping.

When Fightful reached out to Terrell, they were unable to get a statement, and NWA did not confirm if she is leaving when asked.

Injury

Taryn is unhappy with the promotion’s direction moving forward, but that isn’t the only issue with the company.

Terrell is also said to be unhappy with how the company reacted when she suffered a head injury during a match.

It is unclear which match Terell suffered her head injury in or how the injury happened.

The 36-year-old had hoped to finish up her remaining dates with the company but is unable to.

Former WWE/Impact Star Taryn Terrell Alleges Sexual Abuse By Hotel Massage Therapist

Former Impact Knockouts champion and current NWA star Taryn Terrell has joined a class action lawsuit against the Biltmore Hotel in Miami. The suit alleges that she was sexually assaulted by massage therapist, Oscar Ojeda, in 2017, while staying at the hotel.

Ojeda was arrested in May and charged with battery based on statements from Terrell and one other victim. In total, 4 women are alleging the massage therapist touched them inappropriately.

“I may be a wrestler, I may be a stunt woman. I may be all of those things but at the end of the day I am a human and when someone invades your intimate private space it is not okay,” she said to NBC 6 Miami.

“The Biltmore’s top priority is ensuring the well-being and safety of our guests,” said the hotel in a statement. They also noted that Ojeda is no longer working with them in any capacity.

Terrell’s suit against the hotel alleges that Ojeda continued to work there despite a previous complaint against him being lodged. As a result of Ojeda’s continued employment at the hotel, two other women were then assaulted as well.

Terrell’s interview with NBC 6 Miami is below:

Terrell was with WWE from 2007 until 2010. She was then with Impact/TNA from 2012 until 2017. Terrell started with the NWA earlier this year where she has both worked on commentary and wrestled.

Taryn Terrell Done With Impact Wrestling

On this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling, it was announced that Taryn Terrell has been pulled from Bound For Glory, where she was scheduled to be part of the Fatal 4-Way Knockouts Championship match. Sienna will now the Knockouts Title in a Triple Threat match against Allie and Gail Kim.

The reason given for Terrell’s absence is that she is medically cleared to compete after being slapped by Gail Kim last week. On Friday morning, Impact revealed that Terrell is no longer with the company and wished her well in the next chapter of her career.

Taryn returned to Impact Wrestling over the summer during the company’s Destination X special where she attacked Gail Kim during her Knockouts Title match against Sienna, costing her the match.

The news of Taryn Terrell leaving Impact Wrestling follows the recent departures of Jim Cornette, Davey Richards, Robbie E, Low Ki, Da Pope, Tyrus, Al Snow and Brandi Rhodes.

Taryn Terrell On Becoming A Born-Again Christian, How It Affects Her TNA Career

TNA Knockout Taryn Terrell recently spoke with FOX411 about her TNA career and becoming a born-again Christian. Below are some of the highlights.

On her decision to share her journey in finding God publicly:

“You know I found that when I was looking for God I didn’t have the resources, and it was hard for me to connect with more mature Christians, so I thought that if somebody could watch my testimony and see me as an infant Christian, you know, I’m just a baby and I’m still learning, maybe they could connect and they could realize exactly how to find God for themselves.”

On if there has been any reaction from her fellow colleagues:

You know, it’s been really cool because a couple wrestlers have texted me or reached out by phone and said, you know, they’re Christians as well and they would love to share their journey with me, and talk. And it’s just a really great way not only that I can connect with other wrestlers who have been in the entertainment field which is a very tempting world but you know that helps me mature as a Christian, and get better connections with my peers which gives me a better connection with God.”

On walking the fine line of being a performer in the wrestling business and remaining a faithful Christian:

That is something I’m actually struggling with now. You know it certainly wasn’t the fault of WWE or the fault of any other entertainment company that I’ve worked for. It wasn’t the fault of Playboy These were all my decisions and these were, you know, my life choices that I made that were, you know, certainly not of a Christian lifestyle. Like you said, the sexiness and, you know, me essentially being a temptation to men and, you know, that’s sort of the thing I learned that I really want to be a role model. I truly do. I want to be able to help other people get saved just as people helped me to be saved so, you know, that is something I’m struggling with now and realizing that, you know, even in the way that I dress it is important to be Christian. It is important to be more modest and I want to use the ability that I have as performing to connect people. You know, I love to perform. I love to entertain. God gave me those skills to do so and I’ve learned that He put me on this Earth to be able to use that and to reach people, and to bring people near God.”

On if not wanting to dress provocative anymore is conflicting with her TNA career and if at some point she might walk away from the business:

Absolutely. I think that I have played, and recently, I have played an even more sexy character than I was used to playing, and it’s something that I prayed on and I know that’s not who I want to portray anymore. I know that’s not who I am and it’s not who I want to portray, and how can I connect with people, and sort of live that double standard. And yes, if I cannot find a way to use God and be godly in the things that I do then yes, it is time to walk away.”

Taryn Terrell On Her Time in WWE: “I Was Not A Good Person”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuWAyEfcepc

A few days ago, the above video featuring WWE Diva (as Tiffany) turned TNA Knockout Taryn Terrell started to get passed around a bit by wrestling fans (though it’s actually a month old). In the video, she talks about taking a renewed interest in her faith as a Christian, being that it was something she had neglected for a while. Today, both The Christian Post and The New York Post picked up her comments, which brought the video a lot of attention.

She’s not really specific about what specific behavior she’s talking about, whether it’s her domestic incidents with Drew Galloway or something else. She seems to have taken responsibility for whatever she feels bad about, though:

I went on the road with WWE for a while and that want to be a Christian sort of went by the wayside. I lived in sin. I was not a good person. I can say that I am ashamed of who I was in a lot of ways and the decisions that I made, and it was because I wasn’t a Christian.

A lot of times I thought, ‘How am I going to be a Christian?’ How can I be accepted by God? I have done awful things. I have not lived as a Christian. I lived as a sinner.

Terrell also explained that she didn’t actually have a good concept of how, theologically speaking, the concept of forgiveness works in Christianity:

What I didn’t understand about being saved was that I could be forgiven. I could truly be forgiven for all of the bad things that I have done. I will tell you that the moment that I truly feel and believe that I was saved—all these years of thinking, ‘Sure, I’m a Christian. I am going to Heaven. I believe that I was going there’—I was speaking with a Christian counselor in June and he asked me … ‘Are you saved?’ Again, I gave the same answer, ‘Yeah, sure. I believe in God, I believe in Heaven.’

It was then that he said, ‘Well, that’s great, but being a Christian means that you believe in Jesus. You believe that He died on the cross, that He died for our sins, that He was resurrected, that He is going to come again. That is your ticket to Heaven. That is your ticket to the Kingdom.’ It registered. It was something that I don’t know if I had heard before, or if I had heard it before, I didn’t truly hear it.

Update On Rumored Matches For TNA Slammiversary Pay-Per-View

Despite previous reports to the contrary, the rumored TNA Heavyweight Championship match between Kurt Angle and Ethan Carter III will not be happening at the upcoming TNA Slammiversary pay-per-view on June 28th.

Instead, the Angle-EC3 match is booked for the July 1st edition of Impact Wrestling and the contract signing for the bout will take place on this coming Wednesday’s episode. The match is currently scheduled to be taped at the Impact Wrestling tapings later this month, which is actually before the Slammiversary pay-per-view.

Speaking of TNA Slammiversary, while there is only one official match at this point — Magnus vs. James Storm — other matches rumored for the show include The Wolves vs. The Dirty Heels for the TNA Tag-Team Titles, Low Ki vs. Grado vs. Tigre Uno for the vacant TNA X-Division Title and Brooke vs. Awesome Kong vs. Taryn Terrell for the TNA Knockouts Title.

Possible *Spoiler* On Former TNA Champion Returning As Special Referee Tonight

As reported earlier today, TNA will be taping several weeks worth of Impact Wrestling episodes across the next four days, starting with tonight’s show, which airs semi-live on a two-hour delay from Orlando, Florida.

In the main event of tonight’s show, the TNA World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line with Kurt Angle defending the title against Eric Young with a former TNA Champion returning to serve as special guest referee of the match.

Unless the former champion is a swerve of some kind, the following are the most likely candidates, according to a report from F4WOnline.com:

– Sting (highly unlikely due to his WWE deal)
– Samoa Joe (possible, but unlikely due to his rumored negotiations with WWE)
– Mick Foley (also seems unlikely now that he just recently taped a highly-promoted special for the WWE Network)
– A.J. Styles (would seem unlikely due to his various commitments, including Ring Of Honor starting next Tuesday)
– Chris Sabin (a possibility)
– Rob Van Dam (a possibility)
– Bully Ray (a very strong possibility)

– Also confirmed for tonight’s Impact Wrestling is a Ken Anderson vs. Ethan Carter III match where the fans get to choose the stipulation (likely an arm-wrestling match or a falls count anywhere match), and Divas action with Gail Kim & Awesome Kong vs. Taryn Terrell & Jade & Marti Bell.

More Turmoil In TNA: Issues With Destination America

After the recent reports of TNA talent not being paid for several months, it appears that TNA’s television partner Destination America is also causing significant issues for the company.

Discovery executives are reportedly calling a lot of the shots in TNA these days, with the idea that they are paying TNA and running so many hours of their programming. So, how much control do they actually have over TNA’s operations?

Executives pushed hard for Kurt Angle to be crowned the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, with Angle’s Olympic gold medal experience tying into the network’s branding. They also are high on Taryn Terrell as Knockouts Champion, mostly for her looks.

Destination America officials are also not pleased with TNA taping so many shows from the UK as of late. Although the UK is one of TNA’s most loyal fan bases, they’ve made it clear that they want Impact taped in the United States most of the time. This isn’t a huge issue, since TNA does tape most shows from the US, but it’s another example of the network calling shots.
