Tay Melo Shares Positive Experience with Sammy Guevara’s Ex-Fiancée

Earlier this month, AEW stars Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo got married, in a ceremony attended by both AEW talent and WWE’s Nikki A.S.H.

The couple’s wedding came mere months after the duo got engaged in June, after a brief dating period.

It was last year that Guevara proposed to his then-girlfriend Pam Nizio prior to the August 18, episode of AEW Dynamite from Guevara’s hometown of Houston, Texas.

Firing Back

Guevara and Nizio confirmed their split in December 2021, and at the time both he and Tay Melo, then Tay Conti, received backlash from fans.

Some accused the wrestlers of seeing each other prior to the Guevara-Nizio engagement ending.

Speaking with Denise Salcedo this week, Melo was confident that she did nothing wrong, and reiterated that she and Guevara dated after he and Pam broke up (via Wrestling Inc.)

“I know who I am, and I know I did nothing wrong… People just talking s***.”

Positive Experiences

Melo and Guevara both received backlash for their relationship, but they did also receive a lot of support.

Speaking about Pam Nizio, Melo said that she and Guevara have maintained a healthy friendship and that she wanted to make sure they were both okay at the time.

“After the whole [social media] drama, she was the one that text us, to check on us.”

Melo added that when Guevara speaks about Pam, he talks about her with “a lot of respect and love.”

Sammy Guevara And Tay Conti Get Married (Photos)

Former TNT champion Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti have finally tied the knot and officially became husband and wife.

The AEW stars made their relationship public in January this year. Guevara then proposed to his girlfriend at the Eiffel Tower in Paris back in June.

Sammy and Tay had chosen August 8 as the date for their marriage. Unlike some other public figures, they had been pretty open about their decision and sharing updates about their wedding all week long.

The AEW couple finally got married on Sunday. Many wrestling personalities were invited to the wedding, and current WWE star Nikki A.S.H. was one of the bridesmaids.

Sammy And Tay’s Marriage Ceremony

Photos from their wedding ceremony started surfacing online not long after as guests started sharing pictures of the newlywed couple.

Amanda Huber went to the wedding with both her sons. She shared a photo of the couple afterward and posted a message for them:

“We are not perfect. We’ll learn from our mistakes. And as long as it takes, I will prove my love to you. What a great night. My friends are amazing. We love you Mr & Mrs @sammyguevara @TayConti_”

Other people who shared photos from the ceremony included NXT star Valentina Feroz, toymaker Jeremy Padawer and more. You can check out photos from Sammy and Tay’s wedding ceremony below:

Sammy Guevara Proposes to Tay Conti at the Eiffel Tower (Photos)

AEW stars Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti are now engaged to be married as the former TNT Champion popped the big question to his girlfriend in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and she said yes.

TMZ broke the news on Friday afternoon. They’ve been dating since December. Conti was wearing a pink, rose-gold colored dress while Sammy had a green suit.

After saying yes, Tay showed off the ring that her soon-to-be husband gave her and she had a big smile on her face as they celebrate the special moment.

Sammy was previously engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Pam, last August before they split up.

Since going public with their relationship, they’ve been paired together on AEW television. As of late, Sammy has been in a feud with Men of the Year as Scorpio Sky beat Sammy to win the TNT Title.

At this past Sunday’s AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view event, Men Of The Year (Ethan Page & Sky) & Paige VanZant defeated Frankie Kazarian, Guevara & Conti in a six-person tag team match, which marked the in-ring debut of the former UFC star.

Conti recently threatened to take legal action against a person who had been sending threatening messages to her.

Congratulations to Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti!

Unannounced Match Listed Internally For AEW Double Or Nothing

It looks like AEW’s upcoming Double Or Nothing PPV will be getting another match.

Double or Nothing is scheduled for May 29. It’ll be held inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The main event is expected to be the AEW World Title match between champion Hangman Adam Page and CM Punk.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer is reporting that there is one match that hasn’t been announced for the card but is listed internally.

That is a mixed tag team match, as it’ll be Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti taking on either Ethan Page or Scorpio Sky and Paige VanZant.

The match is being described as “tentatively planned” for the show. Of course, plans can change.

Tay Conti On Paige VanZant: “She’s Never Here, I’m Doing My Job”

Tay Conti believes that “OnlyFans Chick” Paige VanZant isn’t cut out for the wrestling business.

Of course, Tay and PVZ have been involved in a feud recently. With that said, VanZant hasn’t been on AEW TV in several weeks. This is likely due to her preparing for a BKFC fight on July 9.

Tay and Sammy Guevara continue to feud with PVZ’s faction, however. Sammy has been at odds with Dan Lambert, Ethan Page, and current TNT Champion Scorpio Sky.

Tay Conti On PVZ’s Wrestling Future

Speaking to Brandon Walker of Barstool Rasslin’, Tay Conti explained why she hasn’t been able to continue her feud with PVZ (h/t Wrestling Inc).

“What’s her name again, the chick from the OnlyFans? Paige VanZant, waiting on her. She signed, never here, waiting on her. I do both, I am here, I’m on Instagram, she can’t handle it, that’s not on me. So, you guys need to complain with her. You guys need to hate her, not me, because I am here doing my job.”

When PVZ does eventually return, she’ll likely be taking aim at Tay for her trash talk. Ever since VanZant went to prepare for her next fight, Tay has been playing more of a heel role with Sammy Guevara despite AEW’s confusing direction with the two.

With VanZant, there is the question of how much she is invested in the wrestling industry. WWE Attitude Era star Gangrel, who trains VanZant, recently admitted that the former UFC star hasn’t been as passionate about the business and someone else he’s high on in the gym.

Still, Gangrel sees “tremendous” potential in Paige VanZant.

Sammy Guevara & Tay Conti Dismiss Haters: “The Fake People Expose Themselves”

Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti love their loyal fans but brush off the “fake people.”

Sammy and Tay were beloved by AEW fans but ever since being together, the two have basically become heels. They aren’t afraid to lean into it either as they’ve been rather braggadocious in the past few weeks.

A Message To Haters

During an interview with Brandon Walker of Rasslin‘, Sammy Guevara said those who boo him and Tay Conti are exposing themselves.

“I think the fake people expose themselves for being fake. The real people are still there. Our core audience, the people who’ve always supported us still support us.”

Tay also expressed her belief that the haters are lashing out for no good reason.

“I mean, we did nothing wrong for people to hate us. That’s what I’m saying, like why would they hate us?”

Of course, throughout the interview, Sammy and Tay continued to play things up with their relationship.

Sammy was then asked about his memorable ladder match with Cody Rhodes at Beach Break back in January. Guevara had the highlight reel spot when he landed a cutter off the top of a ladder.

Sammy admitted that he was feeling the effects of the landing.

“No [he wasn’t intimidated by the spot], I just hoped that it was going to work out, and then when I jumped off the ladder, I thought in midair, ‘holy sh*t I jumped way higher than I thought I was gonna get.’ Then we got here and I was like, ‘oh, it’s working out.’ When we landed though, I was like, ‘I regret this now.'”

Sammy Guevara And Tay Conti Win AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship At TripleMania XXX

Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti have become the new AAA world mixed tag team champions at the TripleMania XXX: Monterrey event.

The two were scheduled to compete in a four-way tag team match for the titles at the show. Though at first, Sammy acted to be injured coming off of his ladder match TNT championship loss to Scorpio Sky at Dynamite this past Wednesday.

Tay Conti instead wrestled with AAA luchador La Parka Negra for most of the match. Apart from the AEW stars, the bout featured Sexy Star & Komander, Maravilla & Latigo, and Arez & Chik Tormenta. It was filled with many exciting spots.

Though later in the bout, it was confirmed that Guevara was faking his injury. He then replaced Negra in the championship match.

The ending of the bout saw Guevara super kicking Tormenta while Conti hit the Tay-KO. The duo went on to pin the champions for the victory.

The team of Tay Conti and Sammy Guevara has been receiving mixed reactions from the crowd in AEW in recent times.

The company itself also seems to be leaning towards a heel turn for them. We will have to see if they mention the actions of the couple at the AAA PPV on AEW programming in the coming week.

Sammy Guevara & Tay Conti Got Matching Henna Tattoos (Photo)

AEW TNT Champion Sammy Guevara and top women’s challenger Tay Conti got ‘henna’ tattoos with each other’s names.

The young power couple went public with their relationship back in December, shortly after Guevara ended his 8-year relationship with ex-fiancée Pam Nizio.

On the latest episode of his vlog, Guevara and and Conti showed off their latest show of affection. Conti asked if the tattoo would hurt, while Guevara questioned if he was up for it. He ultimately decided, “I wanna do it. I’m being dramatic.”

Guevara got the name Taynara inked on his ribs, while Conti had Samuel written on hers. You can see Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti’s new tattoos here:

Because she’s going crazy right now. Yeah, I wrestled her once,” said Tay Conti, “but I really need a rematch against her. So, I’m ready for it.”

The Brazilian star also talked about some of her matches which she is proud of. She mentioned how facing the current AEW women’s champion Britt Baker for the title was a special moment for her.

According to Conti, she was super nervous before this match which took place at the Full Gear PPV in 2021 and Baker was amazing to work with.

Tay Conti Releases Statement On Her Social Media Hiatus

Tay Conti has come forward to comment on her social media hiatus and respond to the people who have accused her for Sammy Guevara’s split with his fiancé.

The AEW star posted a statement on her Insta story earlier today where she mentioned how she had to take some time off of social media because she was reading unnecessary comments.

Conti noted how her personal life is nobody’s business and nobody has the right to harass her by creating false rumors about something that wasn’t her fault.

She ended the statement by thanking the people who have supported her through the ordeal. You can check out Tay Conti’s statement in the photo below:

For those who don’t know, AEW star Sammy Guevara announced a split with his long-time girlfriend Pam Nizio earlier last week. The couple had gotten engaged in August.

Since Sammy did not mention a reason for the split, many rumors started brewing up about the sudden end of their relationship.

https://mobile.twitter.com/sammyguevara/status/1474558251169722369/

Some people started accusing Tay Conti, who is a close friend of Guevara and regularly appears on his YouTube vlog.

This campaign against the female star led to her deactivating her Twitter account for a while. Sammy Guevara has since commented on the matter. He has also clarified that Conti had nothing to do with his breakup.

Update on Tay Conti’s Social Media Hiatus

AEW star Tay Conti deactivated her Twitter account over the past several days. The move comes after the Brazilian bombshell received harassment from fans onine.

Conti was targeted after Sammy Guevara announced the end of his relationship with Pam Nizio. Some fans accused Conti of breaking up their engagement, which prompted Guevara to issue a follow-up statement over the weekend.

Guevara clarified that his relationship with Pam Nizio ended back in October and had “nothing to do with ANYONE else.”

That wasn’t enough to satisfy some people, who continued to target Conti with negative messages on Twitter.

Tay Conti Statement

XPAND Marketing Agency, Tay Conti’s management team, issued a statement on Sunday addressing the situation:

”This is Tay’s management team writing to let you know Tay is doing good but will be stepping away from social media for a couple days.

In the meantime, we will be posting on Tays behalf throughout the week. This includes normal posts as well as some sponsored posts that we have already recorded earlier in the month that must be posted this week.

Thank you for reading, Happy Holidays from Tay & her management team!”

Britt Baker, Tay Conti & Jade Cargill Trade Shots On Twitter

Britt Baker will defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against #1 contender Tay Conti at Full Gear next month. Conti came out to make the save after Baker continued to attack Anna Jay after their match on Rampage Friday night. Then on AEW Saturday Night Dynamite, Baker cut a promo on Conti stating that “All [Conti] has done since arriving in AEW is show everyone [her] ass.”

Baker’s promo led to responses from both Conti and #2 contender in the AEW Women’s division, Jade Cargill.

Conti opted to compare how certain parts of their actions figures look in her response:

Jade Cargill, who received a first round bye in the TBS Championship Tournament, responded to an earlier Tweet from Baker as well.

Baker then answered back with the following:

“Your tweets are as bad as your promos. I was the baddest bitch on the block before you even decided you wanted to play wrestler. No one mentioned “looks” but that’s literally all you have so I get it. If that was an attempt to body shame my ass, go ahead and kiss it.”

Cargill then answered back with a couple more Tweets.

“BODY SHAME!?! The Queen of talking about everyone else is playing the victim. Brittney please, I can’t help that God blessed me with great looks!”

Jade Cargill will face the winner of Red Velvet vs the Bunny in her first match in the TBS Championship tournament.

“Ok, first of all Asuka, my dream match. Her match with Sara [Del Ray] my old coach [made me like] ah I wanna do it. I would say Giulia from Stardom, and [Meiko] Satomura.”

Tay Conti is a Brazilian professional wrestler who first started her career in WWE in 2016. She signed with AEW in August last year after getting released by WWE as part of the coronavirus budget cuts.

The 25-year-old is currently the #1 ranking female star in AEW. As a result, she will be getting a shot at the AEW women’s world champion Britt Baker at the upcoming Full Gear PPV. You can check out the other announced Full Gear match here.

Tay Conti Talks WWE Refusal to Grant Her a Release

The AEW women’s division has a lot of promising stars, but none are shining brighter right now than Tay Conti. The 25-year-old Brazilian wrestler has everything to be a dominant name in wrestling. Since joining the Dark Order her career has blossomed. The well-rounded fighter is working hard on perfecting her skills, and improvement can be seen from week to week.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CPBuN0pBn48/

She is a long way from the frustrated WWE figure who was begging for a release from her contract. Talking on a recent episode of the AEW Unrestricted Podcast, Tay Conti spoke at length about her time with WWE.

Recalling the multiple occasions that she requested a release, and the interesting answer she was given.

“I remember they told me, ‘No, you’re not gonna go to AEW. ‘We put a lot of money on you. You are star blah, blah, blah.’ I’m like, ‘Yes, you guys don’t use me here. So I gotta go somewhere,”

Tay found it an interesting excuse, especially as she had no intention of joining AEW at the time. “I had no plans because I had no contacts at all.”

After accepting her employer’s refusal to grant her a release, Tay Conti was resigned to finishing her two-year contract. Then, just as things seemed to have settled, COVID hit.

“Out of nowhere, they called me because of — I mean, not out of nowhere. Everybody knew was what was going on because of COVID, but I was not expecting the call since we were okay. They told me ‘we are finally letting you go’ not in a really good, I don’t how to explain it without being too mean, they’re not too nice.”

WWE’s loss is certainly AEWs gain, as they have a real star in the making in Tay Conti.

Conti spoke about her release from WWE in a YouTube video she posted shortly after.

“As you guys know, I don’t work for WWE anymore. I was with the company for 2 and a half years or so, a little bit more I guess. Honestly, it was the most crazy and amazing opportunity of my whole life. I will always be grateful because WWE changed my life, and for the better. I came here to US and I had no English, I had no idea what wrestling was before.”
