Here are 8 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 9/20.

LAX Wrestle Their Last Match For Impact Wrestling

Santana and Ortiz are off to AEW after having dominated the Impact tag team division. They are the longest-reigning Impact tag champs of all time and finished off their careers in the promotion by dropping this week’s main event to Willie Mack and Rich Swann.

Following the match, the locker room emptied out to celebrate LAX. The segment closed with Santana and Ortiz being hoisted on the shoulders of the Impact roster.

Joey Ryan Debuts As Stripper At Melissa Santos Bachelorette Party

https://twitter.com/JoeyRyanOnline/status/1175275004071567363

A bachelorette party was thrown backstage for Melissa Santos this week. It looked as though the police had been called to break it up but it turns out the officer at the door was really a male stripper fans will recognize as Joey Ryan.

Brian Cage Cheats During His Bachelor Party

Brian Cage’s bachelor party with Rich Swann and Tommy Dreamer was less eventful. Cage had commented on how he was looking forward to “cheating” at the party but turns out he was just commenting on eating cheat meals on his diet.

Tessa Blanchard & the Hardcore Legends Defeat OVE

Impact Wrestling kicked off this week with an 8-person street fight. OVE took on Tessa Blanchard, Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, and Rob Van dam. In the end, Rhino would gore Jake Crist through a table and Tessa Blanchard would make him submit to a kendo stick assisted cross face.

Sami Callihan probably has his sights set on October 20th in Chicago against Brian Cage, he might still have some unfinished business with Tessa Blanchard, however.

Havok Attempted To Murder Su Yung

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKjwXMPI1zQ

Havok defeated Su Yung in a no disqualification match this week. She picked up the win after a tombstone piledriver but the end of the match didn’t mean the end of the fight. Yung kept fighting with her rival after the match and the two brawled all the way to the back.

As they brawled into a stairwell, Havok then wrapped a noose around Yung’s neck and tossed her over the railing. Josh Matthews would let fans know after the commercial break that Yung had been taken to hospital.

Medical staff were later shown to be unable to revive Yung. She would come back to life, however.

Alisha Edwards May Have The Wrong Opinion Of Ace Austin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqFv4zg7ppg

Ace Austin has stated on impact wrestling that he is out to “bang” Eddie Edwards’ wife Alisha. This week Austin showed up to Impact in a wheelchair after the beating he was given by Edwards last week. He told Alisha he wanted to be there to support her during her match with Taya Valkyrie.

During the match, Austin made dramatic recovery and was able to fend of John E Bravo who was attempting to interfere. The assistance didn’t work, however, as Taya still won the match. After, Austin fell out of his wheelchair while trying to applaud Alisha’s efforts. He must have seemed so noble to her.

The Desi Hit Squad At Their Strongest?

The Desi Hit Squad are at their strongest ever with the return to Impact Wrestling of Mahabali Shera. Shera defeated the Desi Hit Squad’s rival Cody Deaner in singles action this week. The days of the Deaners embarassing the Great Gama Singh’s faction appear to be over.

Quick Results:

Tessa Blanchard, Rhino, Rob Van Dam, & Tommy Dreamer defeated OVE
  2. Taya Valkyrie defeated Alisha Edwards
  3. The Rascalz defeated Ares, Toxin & Australian Suicide

8 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 9/13

Impact Wrestling 9/13 took place from Mexico City and featured a main event of Sami Callihan and Jake Crist against Tessa Blanchard and Tommy Dreamer in a street fight.

Here are 8 Takeaways from Impact Wrestling 9/13:

RVD & Rhino Provide Back Up For Tessa Blanchard & Dreamer

Sami Callihan has a title match coming up on October 20th at Bound for Glory in Chicago. He’s still deep into a tense rivalry with Tessa Blanchard, however. Callihan picked up the win in this week’s main event after delivering a piledriver to Tommy Dreamer, the same move he used to pin Tessa Blanchard twice.

After the match, OVE tried to use the numbers advantage to continue the onslaught on Dreamer and Blanchard but Rhino and RVD made the save.

Michael Elgin Wants Marufuji At Bound For Glory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjWmn-rja_A

Michael Elgin defeated AAA Minis champion Dinastia this week. Elgin didn’t use his normal Elgin bomb to get the win, however. Instead, Elgin delivered an “Emerald Flowsion” a move associated with Naomichi Marufuji.

After the match, Elgin cut a promo about how he beat the best of the best in Japan but he never got to face Marufuji. Elgin then put down the challenge for Marufuji for Bound for Glory October 20th in Chicago.

Dr. Wagner Isn’t Retired Yet

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5s6O3G3AzoA

Impact will co-promote an event from MSG’s Hulu Theatre Sunday night. Dr. Wagner Jr. is scheduled to face Blue Demon Jr. on the show.. Tonight, Wagner Jr. got in the ring with Texano Jr. and picked up the victory after delivering the Wagner driver.

Eddie Edwards Sends Ace Austin To The Hospital (With His Wife)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6kONLnZn5g

Eddie Edwards has had a lot of personal and professional issues to overcome throughout the last year and a half in Impact Wrestling. He’s currently dealing with 22-year-old blue-chipper Ace Austin trying to have “relations” with his wife.

This week Austin and Edwards met in single’s action. Edwards couldn’t contain himself during the match, however, and took a chair to Austin’s arm, leading to the disqualification. Eddie kept up the beating after the match, even turning his attention to referees and security who tried to break it up.

Later on, Alisha Edwards was tending to Ace Austin as he was being loaded into an ambulance. As Alisha left in the ambulance with Austin, she turned to Eddie and said “You’re not my husband, you’re a cheating bastard!” as Austin made pelvic thrusting motions inside the ambulance.

Mahabali Shera Returns, Aligns With The Great Gama Singh & Desi Hit Squad

Things had not been going well for the Desi Hit Squad as of late leading up to this. The team had dropped an important match to Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake, leading to them having to go work on the Deaner compound. They then had to wrestle this match against Big Mami and Nino Hamburguesa while wearing overalls.

After the match, the Desi Hit Squad would get the last laugh, however. Mahabali Shera returned to the organization and took out the Deaners. He then aligned with Gama Singh and the other members of the Desi Hit Squad to end the segment.

Tenille Dashwood Defeats Kiera Hogan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAhJbSEQPBs

In the opener this week, Tenille Dashwood picked up a win against Kiera Hogan. Dashwood has previously said in promos that she does not plan to start at the bottom and wants a shot at Taya Valkyrie’s title sooner rather than later. Her win against Hogan this week could put her closer to making that title shot happen.

Hogan’s Frenemy Madison Rayne wasn’t pleased with the result:

One More Match For LAX

Despite losing to the North in a match which had their Impact careers on the line, LAX aren’t quite gone from the promotion yet. This week, LAX agreed to face Willie Mack and Rich Swann in another match for the promotion so they can tear down the house one last time. Konnan agreed to speak with management to make the match happen next week.

10 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 8/9

Impact Wrestling presented a taped show last night from Windsor, ON, Canada. The show was headlined by a tag team title match between the North and Daga and Ortiz.

Here are 10 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 8/9:

Daga To Carry On LAX Legacy?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiJd-w_X9KQ

Daga joined Ortiz as Santana’s replacement in LAX this week. The pair accompanied by Konnan would challenge Josh Alexander and Ethan Page, who defeated Ortiz and Santana for the belts at Bash at the Brewery last month.

The North pulled off the win and retained their titles. There was no under-handed tactics here, the North had the experience edge over Daga and Ortiz and used it to their advantage. Despite the loss, Ortiz led the crowd in a chant for Daga, who looks like he could be carrying on the LAX legacy moving forward.

Tessa Blanchard Reflects On Loss To Sami Callihan

Blanchard had Sami Callihan beaten at Unbreakable. She hit him with 3 straight Magnums, one from a standing position, then from the second rope, and finally again from the top rope. Ultimately, Callihan’s run-in buddies from OVE saved the match for Callihan and stopped Blanchard from earning a title shot.

This week, Blanchard cut a promo saying she thought it would be one-on-one at Unbreakable and that she is not done with Sami.

The Rascalz Were Excited To Have Rob Van Dam In Their Clubhouse

Rob Van Dam visited the Rascalz clubhouse this week. The trio could not contain themselves and ended up demonstrating RVD’s moves on each other.

Here is some of what they had to say about RVD before he entered the room:

  • “I hear he can roll inside a $1 bill,” Trey said.
  • “I heard he sweats CBD oil,” Wentz added.
  • “I heard he can roll his armpit must,” Trey also said.

Brian Cage Injury Update

Melissa Santos provided an injury update on Brian Cage this week. Santos let us know that Cage has been dealing with an injury in his back and hip. Santos said there is no timetable for Cage’s return as they don’t know exactly where his injury is coming from.

Jimmy Jacobs conducted the interview and asked Santos what will happen if Cage can’t defend the title. Santos said there are more important things than championships and money.

Su Yung Crashes Havok’s Title Shot

Havok should be Knockouts champion but twice now she’s unfairly come away from a title match without the belt. At Unbreakable last week on Impact plus, Taya bailed on a title defence and retained via count-out. This week Su Yung interrupted the match just when Havok look like she had the champ beat. It looks as though the undead bride and Havok are on a collision course.

Jake Crist Defends X-Division Title

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHV1K2k8EVU

This week of Impact Wrestling kicked off with Jake Crist successfully defending his X-Division championship. He defeated local talent Aiden Prince who’d won a #1 contenders match to earn the shot.

An interesting question might be what Sami Callihan is thinking in regards to Crist’s title reign. Callihan seems a little jealous that Jake was able do beat Swann for the belt when he wasn’t able to.

Jordynne Grace Sets Her Sights On Madison Rayne & Kiera Hogan

Alexia Nicole, local talent from Toronto, had a shot to defeat a multi-time former Knockouts champion this week when she took on Madison Rayne. Ultimately, it would be Rayne who would pick up the victory while Kiera Hogan was on commentary. According to Hogan, she’s the one teaching Rayne to be more aggressive lately. The two women argued after the match but then joined forces to take their aggression out on Nicole. This led to Jordynne Grace running in and making the save.

The storyline with Rayne and Hogan appears to be that they don’t get along but will team up to take out others in the division. Callis said they don’t get along unless they are bullying someone else together.

Rhino and Michael Elgin Brawl In Windsor

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSgRwYTE2JI

Rhino gored both Stone Rockwell and Nate Madsen this week. Rockwell attempted to appease the man-beast with food but it didn’t work. Rhino then cut a promo calling out Michael Elgin leading to a brawl between the two.

Moose and Fallah Bah Brawl In Catering

Fallah Bah has lost over a hundred pounds but he’s gained an enemy in Moose. This week, we saw Moose attack Bah while he was eating and a brawl breaking out between the two at catering. Moose was upset at Bah’s recent victory over him last week. A rematch between the two is likely in the works.

Eddie Edwards Disqualified Against Ace Austin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-flk5mwGKNI

Eddie Edwards couldn’t control his temper in his match against Ace Austin this week. Austin has been seen in the back trying to impress Eddie’s wife Alicia with magic tricks. This week Edwards would not stop beating on Austin and the ref called for the bell.

Alicia Edwards ran out and tried to stop Eddie but when Eddie asked Alicia if she was with Austin, she didn’t give an answer. Later in the show, Austin was heard telling people in the back he was going to sleep with Eddie’s wife.

Quick Results:

  1. X-Division Championship
Jake Crist (c) defeated Aiden Prince
  2. Ace Austin defeated Eddie Edwards via DQ
  3. Madison Rayne defeated Alexia Nicole
  4. Knockouts Championship
Taya Valkyrie (c) vs Havok – No Contest
  5. Stone Rockwell vs Nate Madsen – No Contest
  6. Impact Tag Team Championships
The North (c) defeated LAX (Daga & Ortiz)

Triplemania XXVII Results: Cain Velasquez Debuts

Cain Velasquez made his professional wrestling debut last night in Mexico City at AAA’s Triplemanía XXVII. He teamed with Cody Rhodes and Psycho Clown in winning fashion over Taurus, Texano Jr, and Killer Kross. There was a scuffle in the back between Velasquez and LA Park after the event which could lead to Cain’s next program with AAA as well.

Also on the show, Blue Demon Jr. defeated Dr. Wagner Jr. in a Mask vs Hair match. Wagner has subsequently said he plans to retire after the loss.

Tessa Blanchard also won the Reina De Reinas championship last night in Mexico City. Not long after winning the title, however, former long-time holder of the belt Taya Valkyrie got up in Blanchard’s face about it. The face-off between the two is likely building towards a future clash between them.

https://twitter.com/Tess_Blanchard/status/1157995881607630848

Members of the Elite were on-hand as well. In addition to Cody teaming with Velasquez, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks lost to the Lucha Bros and the Laredo Kid.

8 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 8/2

Impact Wrestling presented two shows last night. Impact Unbreakable was presented on the Impact Plus streaming app while their normal weekly television show aired on Twitch, Pursuit, and the promotion’s international broadcast partners.

Here are 8 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 8/2:

The North Retain, Attacked By Ortiz and Daga In The Back

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfRUfacaj68

The North defeated the Rascalz to retain the tag titles in this week’s main event. It looked as though Trey and Dez had the belts won at one point by Page pulled the referee out of the ring before the 3 count could be made. The North then gained the advantage and pulled off the win.

After the match, however, Ortiz attacked both members of the tag team champions in the back as he yelled that those titles don’t belong to them. With Santana injured, however, Alexander and Page were able to gain the advantage on Ortiz. Daga would then make the save with Konnan along with him.

Next week Daga and Ortiz will challenge for the tag titles.

Tessa Blanchard and Tommy Dreamer Stand Tall Over OVE

Tessa Blanchard and Madman Fulton had a singles match this week waved off after interference from Tommy Dreamer. Fulton was about to use a chair on Blanchard when Dreamer made the save.

After the match was thrown out, Blanchard got a hold of a kendo stick and wailed on Fulton for a bit before she and Dreamer teamed up to throw him out of the ring.

As this was airing, Impact was also in Santa Ana, California for Unbreakable. Callihan and Blanchard would headline the show.

Melissa Santos To Provide Update On Brian Cage Next Week

Jimmy Jacobs was shown on the doorstep of Melissa Santos and Brian Cage’s residence this week. Santos answered the door and Jacobs asked for a medical update on Cage’s condition. Santos said she would sit down with Jacobs next week and answer any questions he has but that her and Brian are looking for privacy at the moment.

Aiden Prince Earns X-Division Title Shot

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcaOnqvdI2o

The hometown kid Aiden Prince pulled off a big victory to kick off this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling. He won a 6-way match to earn a shot at Jake Crist’s X-Division title against Wentz, Rohit Raju, Petey Williams, Chuck Mambo and Cody Deaner.

It’s the biggest opportunity to date in Impact for the Windsor-based wrestler in the promotion. He’ll face Jake Crist for the belt next week.

Sami Callihan Jealous of Jake Crist?

After Aiden Prince won the X-Division contendership match, a backstage segment featuring OVE was shown. Callihan did give some credit to Jake for winning the X-Division title from Rich Swann (which Jake noted was something Callihan couldn’t do) but there appears to be some tension building within OVE and possibly some jealousy on Callihan’s part.

Su Yung Sends A Message To Havok

Havok picked up a win over the former referee and current stooge for Taya Valkyrie, Johnny Bravo this week. Bravo had attempted to seduce the kaiju monster to no avail last week and again before the match could begin this week.

After the match, Su Yung appeared on the videotron and cut a promo on Havok (one could assume). The promo was not in any known or translatable language, however, so what it is she said to Havok remains a mystery.

Eddie Edwards Attacks Ace Austin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtbUnOoJh1I

Ace Austin picked up a win over the man of adventure Stone Rockwell this week. After the match, however, Austin was attacked by Eddie Edwards. Previously, we have seen videos of Austin in the back performing magic tricks for Edwards’s wife Alicia which evidently upset Eddie.

After the match, we were shown a scene of Alicia and Eddie Edwards arguing in the back over what had occurred.

Fallah Bah Has Lost 100lbs, Defeats Moose

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCvlXQ3AHOo

Moose cut a promo about not being given enough opportunities from Impact management and that he should be world champ. He took his aggression out on Stone Rockwell, who had just dropped a match to Ace Austin and was still in the ring.

Fallah Bah then returned to Impact Wrestling last night after having lost 100lbs. He came out to confront Moose as he was beating up Rockwell and this led to an impromptu match.

Don Callis noted on commentary how much quicker and more agile the weight loss has made Fallah Bah. He certainly showcased that in his match against Moose, picking up the suprise upset over the former title challenger.

Quick Results:

  1. Aiden Prince defeated Wentz vs Petey Williams vs Cody Deaner vs Chuck Mambo vs Rohit Raju
  2. Havok defeated John E Bravo
  3. Ace Austin defeated Stone Rockwell
  4. Fallah Bah defeated Moose
  5. Tessa Blanchard vs Madman Fulton – No Contest
  6. Impact Tag Team Championships: The North (c) defeated the Rascalz

Next Week:

  • Knockouts Championship: Havok vs Taya Valkyrie
  • Eddie Edwards vs LAX
  • X-Division Championship: Jake Crist (c) vs Aiden Prince
  • Impact Tag Team Championships: The North (c) vs LAX (Ortiz & Daga)

Sami Callihan Defeats Tessa Blanchard, Impact Wrestling Unbreakable Results

Sami Callihan defeated Tessa Blanchard for the second straight time last night at Impact Wrestling Unbreakable from Santa Ana, California. Callihan had previously defeated Blanchard in the main event of last month’s Slammiversary PPV.

With the win, Callihan earns a shot at the Impact Wrestling World Championship.

The match got off to an auspicious start as neither competitor moved or stopped staring the other one down for over one minute after the bell rang. Eventually Callihan gave his thumbs-up thumbs-down taunt, Blanchard flipped him off, and the two began brawling.

Callihan would work Blanchard’s leg for much of the match. Blanchard would make a comeback, however, including hitting 3 Magnums in a row, first from a standing position, then from the second rope and then again from the top rope. OVE’s Jake Crist distracted the ref, however, allowing Callihan to recover and regain the advantage. He would pin Blanchard after delivering a piledriver, just as he had at Slammiversary.

After the match concluded, Tommy Dreamer broke up an OVE attack on Blanchard and cut a promo on how impressive Blanchard is.

Impact Wrestling Unbreakable Results

  1. Peter Avalon & Ray Rosas defeated Chris Bey & Watts
  2. Impact X-Division Title Scramble
Jake Crist (c) defeated Ace Austin and Adrian Quest and Danny Limelight and Trey
  3. Madison Rayne defeated Ayoka Muhara
  4. Michael Elgin defeated Eddie Edwards
  5. Jordynne Grace, Petey Williams & Scott Steiner defeated Dicky Mayer, Jervis Cottonbelly & Ryan Taylor
  6. Impact Knockouts Title
Jessicka Havok defeated Taya Valkyrie (c) by Count Out
  7. Rhino defeated Moose
  8. Impact World Tag Team Title
The North (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander) (c) defeated Reno SCUM (Adam Thornstowe & Luster The Legend) and Rich Swann & Willie Mack
  9. Impact World Title #1 Contendership Match
    Sami Callihan defeated Tessa Blanchard

6 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 7/26

Impact Wrestling was inside Windsor’s St. Clair College for this week’s episode. The show featured an X-Division title match and a street fight between Michael Elgin and Brian Cage.

Here are 6 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 7/26:

Rhyno Officially Joins Impact Wrestling

Michael Elgin’s street fight with champion Brian Cage never really officially started this week. The main event began with an injured Cage crawling to the ring area while being beaten by Elgin.

Melissa Santos eventually attempted to get Elgin to stop the attack but it was a masked man who looked much like Rhyno who would divert his attention. Unfortunately, Elgin hit the masked guy with a chair. That masked guy was not the real Rhyno, however, and the real one then gave a Gore to Elgin and celebrated in the crowd to end the show.

Jake Crist Wins X-Division Title

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6slTEdvUBP8

Rich Swann’s X-Division title reign came to an end in Windsor. Swann’s loss of the championship was in part due to interference from OVE’s Madman Fulton.

Madman Fulton pushed Swann off the top rope and into a cutter by Crist. This allowed Crist to then hit the Buckeye Drop and win the title.

Swann’s title reign ends at 194 days and 11 title defences.

Tessa and Sami Preview Their Rematch

Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard will face each other again on August 2nd at Unbreakable. The show will air live on the Impact Plus streaming app. This time the winner of their match will earn a title shot at the Impact World Championship. Callihan and Blanchard earned the right to face each other for a title shot after winning the Mash-Up tournament together last week.

Sami praised Tessa before disrespecting her at the end of the promo, leading to a brawl between the two. Later in the show, Callihan said he’s going to sick Madman Fulton on her next week.

Moose Wants Stronger Competition

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_ypdPpXTwU

Moose won a squash match this week over Ray Steele. After the match, however, Moose cut a promo about how thought that after beating Rob Van Dam at Slammiversary he would get a chance to earn a title shot. Had he and Eddie Edwards won the Mash-Up tournament they would face each other for the next title shot but that was little consolation to Moose, who feels Impact managment has been disrespecting him.

Moose then sent a message to Impact management by further delivering a beatdown to Steele.

Rob Van Dam Back In The Win Column

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loUtKWyj5Fw

Rob Van Dam defeated Willie Mack this week. The win gets RVD back in the win column after dropping a match to Moose at Slammiversary.

RVD had been complaining in the past about Impact wrestlers using his moves. This may especially be the case for Mack, who has a “6-Star Frog Splash” as part of his arsenal. RVD would manage to win the match with his 5-star version of the move, however. The two would show respect to one another in the ring after the match.

Jordynne Grace Defeats Kiera Hogan, Madison Rayne on Commentary

Madison Rayne, fresh off her heel turn, was on commentary for this match. She also rolled Kiera Hogan back in the ring when it appeared she was going to get counted-out. Despite Rayne’s help, however, Hogan got caught in a clever pinning combination by Grace.

Later in the show, Hogan was interviewed in the back and Rayne interrupted. Although Rayne started off insulting Hogan, the two ended up turning their attention to Melissa Santos. Hogan and Rayne could turn out to be allies rather than enemies in this story, it’s still not clear.

On commentary, Don Callis noted to Josh Matthews that he might not know how to handle himself around a woman as beautiful as Rayne (the two are married in real-life, though this doesn’t appear to be something Impact acknowledges.)

Quick Results:

  1. Jordynne Grace defeated Kiera Hogan
  2. Moose defeated Ray Steele
  3. Rob Van Dam defeated Willie Mack
  4. X-Division Championship: Jake Crist defeated Rich Swann (c) – New Champion
  5. Street Fight: Michael Elgin vs Brian Cage – No Contest

Tessa Blanchard vs Sami Callihan II Booked For August 2nd

After headlining Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary PPV earlier this month, Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard will face each other once again on August 2nd.

Impact Wrestling’s “Unbreakable” will air live from the Esports Arena in Santa Ana, California on Impact Plus.

Callihan and Blanchard teamed together for Impact Wrestling’s Mash-Up tournament which aired last night. As the winners of the tournament, Blanchard and Callihan will now face each other on August 2nd with the winner earning a shot at the Impact World Championship.

Tessa Blanchard vs Sami Callihan II

Callihan vs Blanchard II is the only match scheduled for the show thus far. The event is part of a 3-show tour for Impact in California. “Starstruck” will take place the night after in Hollywood. Then a set of TV tapings from Port Hueneme is booked for August 4th.

The promotion is currently in Windsor filming TV this weekend.

“On Friday, August 2nd IMPACT Wrestling heads back to California for Unbreakable on IMPACT+ in Santa Ana. The Esports Arena will play host to Unbreakable on a night that promises to be unforgettable! It is Unbreakable LIVE on IMPACT+ as the summer of IMPACT whips through California,” reads an Impact Wrestling press release for the show.

8 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 7/19

Impact Wrestling from July 19th was filmed inside Mississauga’s Don Kolov Arena and featured a “Mash-Up” tournament. 8 teams of oddly paired wrestlers would face off in 4 first-round matches. The winning teams would then face-off in a 4-way elimination match in the main event.

A match between the two members of the winning team will then occur on a future Impact Plus event with the winner receiving a future Impact World title shot. Unbreakable will air live on Impact Plus August 2nd.

Moose & Eddie Edwards Advance To Finals

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6NruROOq0A

Eddie Edwards & Moose had an advantage over the other teams in this tournament. While Moose and Edwards have been rivals in recent months, they have been a successful tag team in the past. Moose and Edwards formed a team during a tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH in 2017.

Raju and Deaner were not able to work as a team the same way Edwards and Moose did and Edwards pinned Raju with a Boston Knee Party.

After the match, the Deaners and Desi Hit Squad brawled in the ring to end the segment.

Madman Fulton Turns On Partner, Jake Crist & Wentz Advance

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wXcvIwCxSo

Jake Crist and Wentz from the Rascalz advanced to the finals when Madman Fulton turned on his partner, Rich Swann. Jake Crist was able to control the monster, who then delivered several chokeslams to the X-Division champion, allowing Crist and Wentz to get the win and advance to the finals.

Nobody Said “Adventure” – Mack & Elgin Advance

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uXZNqLfQMg

Ace Austin needed to find a partner for his first-round match against Willie Mack and Michael Elgin. This led to Stone Rockwell swooping in as if somebody said the word “adventure.” Nobody said adventure, though. Don Callis would specifically state on commentary that he had banned use of the word.

Regardless, Rockwell ended up as Austin’s partner and promptly got pinned after a power-bomb from Elgin.

3 Sami Callihans vs Tessa Blanchard – Blanchard & Callihan Advance

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9zqI_ws_o4

The theme of tonight’s show was a mash-up tournament similar to what you might see when playing a video game. This match looked as though one player selected two Sami Callihans to play and the other player picked one Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard.

Trey came out dressed as Sami Callihan and attempted to recreate many of Callihan’s signature gross taunts, such as eating his own spit.

Despite Blanchard and Callahan not getting along throughout the match, the two managed to pick up the victory. Tessa hit Magnum on Trey followed by Sami tagging himself in and delivering a piledriver for the win.

Is Taya Valkyrie Afraid of Havok?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sZJvPnQJGw

Taya does not like to defend her title more than the once every 30 days she is required to. That’s why she opted not to put her title on the line in this week’s triple threat match against both Havok and Madison Rayne.

In fact, Taya would bail on the match after shortly after taking a few moves from Havok. This left Madison Rayne all alone with Havok, who promptly hit a tombstone piledriver and got the win.

Moose Turns On Eddie Edwards

Eddie Edwards and Moose was the first team eliminated from the 4-team elimination finals of the Mash-Up tournament.

Just when it seemed theywere working well as a team, Moose turned on Edwards. Inexplicably, Moose kicked Edwards in the stomach and then power-bombed him to the outside.

Will this turn of events lead to a rivalry between Eddie Edwards and Moose? This led to Elgin delivering a power-bomb to Edwards and eliminating him and Moose from the match.

Michael Elgin Walks Out Willie Mack

As push started to come to shove during the main event, another competitor walked out. Just as Taya had done earlier in the evening, Michael Elgin opted to bail on his match. He gave his partner, Willie Mack, a big clothesline before he did so as well.

This left Willie Mack alone in the ring with Sami Callihan, who delivered a piledriver and got the pin. This left Blanchard & Callihan against Wentz and Crist as the final two teams in the match.

Tessa Blanchard & Sami Callihan Win The Mash-Up Tournament

Callihan had said throughout the evening that he planned to recreate the “Finger Poke of Doom” during the tournament with Jake Crist. His OVE ally was not totally on-board with this plan, however, wanting a world title shot himself. When Crist and Callihan attempted to do the Finger Poke of Doom, Crist tried to double-cross him with a small package but Callihan kicked out.

Following this, Tessa made a blind tag, hit Crist with Magnum and got the win for her team. Blanchard and Sami Callihan will now face off against each other once again on August 2nd. This time the winner of their match will receive an Impact world title shot.

Quick Results:

  • Moose & Eddie Edwards defeated Rohit Raju & Cody Deaner (Mash-Up First Round)
  • Jake Crist & Wentz defeated Madman Fulton & Rich Swann (Mash-Up First Round)
  • Michael Elgin & Willie Mack defeated Stone Rockwell & Ace Austin (Mash-Up First Round)
  • Sami Callihan & Tessa Blanchard defeated Trey Miguel & Dave Crist (Mash-Up First Round)
  • Havok defeated Madison Rayne vs Taya Valkyrie – Non-Title

Grace picked up the win in the match but fell victim to a double-team from Hogan and Rayne after.

Tonight’s episode emanated from the Don Kolov arena in Mississauga, ON. Anthony Carrelli (Santino Marella) runs a promotion and school (Battle Arts) which runs the venue frequently.

Impact Wrestling Slammiversary Notes

Sami Callihan delivered a vicious piledriver to Tessa Blanchard to end their match last night. Blanchard’s aggressiveness during the match won over Callihan, however, who handed Blanchard her gold bat following the match as a sign of respect.

Brian Cage used a basic wrestling maneuver to defeat Michael Elgin. After the match, an enraged Elgin turned his attention to Don Callis. A masked man, who shares many mannerisms with Rhyno, made the save. Is a Michael Elgin vs Rhyno match something Impact fans could see in the near future?

Rich Swann straight-up beat Johnny Impact cleanly in an amazingly athletic contest. Swann got the win with a Phoenix Splash causing the former World Champion to make the face seen in the Tweet below:

Taya Valkyrie may have stolen the pin away from Havok in Monster’s Ball but she is still the Knockouts champion and still quite confident in herself:

Moose defeated a legend at Slammiversary. Last year at Slammiversary, Moose challenged for the world title. How much longer until he’s back in the mix for the belt? What does this loss mean for Rob Van Dam?

Eddie Edwards broke Kenny (his pet Kendo stick) in half so he could use the sharpened edges to shove down Killer Kross’ throat in their first blood match. As Kross coughed up blood, Edwards was declared the winner.

Eddie even gave the old “I’m sorry, I love you” to Kenny before he broke the Kendo stick as well.

Ethan Page and Josh Alexander picked up their first title defence at Slammiversary. Perhaps the bigger issue might be Santana from LAX who was unable to finish the match due to injury.

Willie Mack picked up the win in the night’s opening match with a frog splash:

7 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 6/28

Impact Wrestling 6/28 was filmed inside New York’s Melrose Ballroom. It featured the continued build to Slammiversary on July 7th from Dallas.

Here are 7 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 6/28:

Brian Cage Goes Against Doctors Orders…

Impact’s doctor attempted to tell Cage he was not medically cleared this week but this led to Cage giving him an F-5. Elgin then attacked Cage from behind. The challenger at Slammiversary delivered two Elgin Bombs to the champion before pulling out a table.

Elgin then power-bombed Cage from the ring down through a table on the floor below. Don Callis attempted to stop Elgin but ended up taking a beating himself as a result. Elgin was going to deliver an Elgin bomb to Callis but Brian Cage got up and made the save to close the show.

Sami Callihan Takes A Bat To Tessa Blanchard

After beating Fallah Bah this week, Sami Callihan wanted to show Tessa Blanchard that he’ll treat her as an equal.

After calling her out to the ring, Callihan kicked Blanchard right in the face but this didn’t keep the former Knockouts champion down. Tessa would get up and take the fight to Callihan, resulting in OVE coming out to pry her off him. With Blanchard restrained, Callihan hit her in the midsection with a baseball bat and then gave her a piledriver.

Killer Kross vs Eddie Edwards – 1st Blood Match At Slammiversary

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dzLLkdTVkM

Eddie Edwards went to church this week to deal with all of his violent tendencies. The pastor he was talking to suddenly turned into Killer Kross, however. Edwards then left and told Kross he would be waiting for him outside the church. Kross decided to hang out in the church awhile and told a pastor he would like to confess to a long list of sins.

It was later announced that Kross and Edwards will face each other in a first blood match at Slammiversary.

Rascalz Beat LAX In 6-Man Action

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVqVl4wRkO0

The Rascalz pulled off a bit of an upset this week when they defeated Santana, Ortiz, and Laredo Kid in 6-man action. The team would later debate which two of them will face LAX at Slammiversary, leading to a match between the 3 of them next week.

Rascalz Triple Threat To Determine Who Goes To Slammiversary

After defeating LAX and Laredo Kid in 6-man action, the 3 members of the Rascalz debated who should represent their team at Slammiversary. They eventually decided to face each other in a triple threat match next week with the losing wrestler being excluded from their team at Slammiversary.

There Are No Alliances In Monster’s Ball

A tag team match between Su Yung & Havok vs Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie was thrown out this week due to excessive use of weapons. That won’t be the case at Slammiverssary when all four competitors meet each other in a Monster’s Ball match for the Knockouts title.

Father James Mitchell again seemed to have problems getting his Yung and Havok to work together. He had to stop the two from fighting each other to end the segment.

The North Are Ready For LAX

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiG2_XCw-NE

Before LAX defend their tag team titles against The Rascalz in Dallas at Slammiversary, they will have to contend with Josh Alexander and Ethan Page. The North will challenge for the tag team championships at Bash At The Brewery on July 5th. They defeated the Deaners to open up last night’s show and will head into their title match on a winning streak.

Quick Results:

  • The North defeated the Deaners
  • Su Yung & Havok vs Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie – No Contest
  • Sami Callihan defeated Fallah Bah
  • The Rascalz defeated LAX & Laredo Kid

Brian Cage Is Back

Rich Swann pinned Johnny Impact in the night’s main event, which was a triple threat also involving Michael Elgin. Following the match, Elgin and Impact attempted to deliver a post-match beatdown to Swann but were interrupted by the returning World Champion Brian Cage.

Cage would throw Impact out of the ring before turing his attention to Elgin and leaving him laying to end the show.

Monster’s Ball Match Booked For Slammiversary

Su Yung was disqualified this week in her Knockouts championship match with Taya Valkyrie. James Mitchell’s newest monster, Havok, hit Taya right in front of the official causing Josh Matthews to wonder if Mitchell has any control over her.

Earlier in the show, Taya had enlisted the help of Rosemary as her insurance policy against Mitchell’s group. When Rosemary came out, however, Mitchell announced that all 4 competitors would face each other in a Monster’s Ball match for the Knockout championship at Slammiversary.

Sami Callihan Challenges Tessa Blanchard For Slammiversary

Tessa Blanchard defeated Jake Crist in this week’s opening match, enraging Sami Callihan. Later in the show, Callihan would issue a challenge to Tessa for Slammiversary. Blanchard has yet to respond.

TJP Returns to Impact Wrestling

Ace Austin cut a promo this week mentioning that he has never been defeated in Impact Wrestling. He then issued an open challenge which was answered by the former Manic, now known as TJP. The returning TJP then ended Ace Austin’s undefeated streak in the promotion.

Rob Van Dam Rescues Tommy Dreamer From Moose

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvBxAbPkjTI

Moose wanted to send a message to Rob Van Dam ahead of their Slammiversary clash this week. After defeating Tommy Dreamer, Moose set him up in the corner and looked as though he was going to deliver a Coast to Coast, one of RVD’s patented moves, but RVD himself came out to make the save.

Killer Kross Waterboards the Sandman

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW3IDDLMRYU

The second match of the episode featured Madman Fulton from OVE going up against Eddie Edwards. Edwards went to the outside to grab his Kendo stick when Killer Kross appeared on the big screen. Kross had the Sandman captured and under a hood. He then began waterboarding the ECW legend.

The distraction allowed Fulton to gain the advantage and pick up the win.

Eddie Edwards Gets Revenge

Later in the show, Edwards went looking for Kross. When Edwards found who he thought was the Sandman, it turned out to be someone completely else entirely. Edwards and Kross then brawled, with Edwards getting the upper hand. Alisha Edwards tried to tell Eddie that this is not who he is but Edwards disagreed.

Quick Results:

  1. Tessa Blanchard defeated Jake Crist
  2. Madman Fulton defeated Eddie Edwards
  3. Moose defeated Tommy Dreamer
  4. Knockouts Championship: Taya Valkyrie (c) defeated Su Yung via DQ
  5. TJP defeated Ace Austin

9 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 6/14

Impact Wrestling presented a show from the Melrose Ballroom last night on Twitch, Pursuit, and their international broadcast partners. The episode was filmed on June 6th, 2019.

Here are 9 Takeaways from Impact Wrestling:

Michael Elgin Sends Willie Mack To The Hospital

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbDL4RyoC1k

Elgin defeated Willie Mack in the main event last night but that was not where the action stopped. Elgin looked to continue the beatdown after the match but was stopped by Rich Swann. This brought out Johnny Impact, who will challenge Swann for the X-Division title at Slammivesary.

After Johnny disposed of Swann, Elgin turned his attention to him. Rather than continue his fragile alliance with Impact, Elgin delivered a belly to back suplex to the former champion and then put on his sunglasses to end the show. A few chants for “Big Mike” could be heard after he took out Johnny.

Moose and Rob Van Dam Rivalry Heats Up

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKtoGBTOPcI

The show opened up this week with the North defeating the ECW Originals, Sabu and RVD. The match was not without controversy, however, as RVD’s Slammiversary opponent Moose interfered. Moose tossed RVD off the top turnbuckle, allowing the North to eventually gain the upper-hand on Sabu and get the win.

Tommy Dreamer would come out and throw Moose back in the ring, however, allowing RVD and Sabu to pick up a measure of revenge. RVD attempted to hit a Coast 2 Coast but Moose slipped out of the ring before he could.

LAX and the Rascalz Will Rematch At Slammiversary

Following last week’s controversial finish to their tag title match, LAX and the Rascalz ended up in a backstage brawl this week. LAX got the upper-hand during the melee but then told the Rascalz they would give them a rematch at Slammiversary.

Scarlett Bordeaux and Taya Valkyrie Don’t Get Along Too Well

Taya Valkyrie was a guest on Scarlett Bordeaux’s “Smoke Show” this week. Bordeaux said that Taya has to defend the title next week against Su Yung. This did not go over well with Taya. She stormed off the set after learning the news.

The North Earn Tag Title Shot

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cm4LMVaRi_c

Shortly after the the North defeated RVD & Sabu, Josh Matthews mentioned on commentary that the win earns them the right to challenge LAX for the tag titles at Bash at the Brewery next month.

Havok and Rosemary Both Want The Knockouts Title

Havok won a squash match this week. James Mitchell cut a promo after the match stating that Havok will be the next Knockouts champion. He also promised that Havok would use Rosemary’s “broken carcass” as a launch pad to the title. Later in the show, Rosemary stated that she wants to return the Knockouts title to “the Hive.” It looks like Taya has two dark and menacing challengers lurking.

Eddie Edwards Rescues The Sandman From Killer Kross

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJDfSyWFCxg

Killer Kross defeated the Sandman this week by choking out the ECW legend. He kept the hold on after the bell, however, leading Eddie Edwards to make the save. A match between the two hasn’t been made official for Slammiversary but it feels as though that’s where things are headed.

Kiera Hogan Costs Jordynne Grace Match Against Madison Rayne

Kiera Hogan joined the commentary booth for a match between Madison Rayne and Jordynne Grace. In the closing moments of the match, Grace was climbing the turnbuckle when she was distracted by Hogan’s disingenuous cheering on the outside. The distraction allowed Rayne to hit Cross Rayne and get the win.

A Jordynne Grace vs Kiera Hogan rivalry looks to be brewing and Hogan looks to be turning heel.

The Desi Hit Squad Defeat the Deaners

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L6dHqZ2aK4

The Desi Hit Squad picked up a win over the Deaners this week. The blue-collar Deaners were distracted with the Great Gama Singh on the outside, who appeared to be faking a heart attack.

Quick Results:

  • Havok defeated
  • The Desi Hit Squad defeated the Deaners
  • Madison Rayne defeated Jordynne Grace
  • Killer Kross defeated the Sandman

Decision Reversal Prevents the Rascalz From Winning Tag Titles

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm5lj1Fdl4c

Earlier in the show, Trey was shown having a drink in Rascalz clubhouse. He had the drink after finding out it would be Dez and Wentz representing the trio against LAX in the night’s main event for the tag titles.

Controversy then took place in the title match. After a ref bump, the Rascalz appeared to get the victory and win the titles but it was actually Trey who got the pin. The original ref then reversed the decision after the match and disqualified the Rascalz due to Trey’s interference, awarding the match to LAX.

Moose Challenges Rob Van Dam For Slammiversary

It looks like another single’s match is likely for the PPV in Dallas next month. Moose cut a promo this week challenging Rob Van Dam to a match at Slammiversary. RVD has yet to respond to Moose’s challenge.

Tessa Blanchard Took Out OVE

The Crist brothers needed to hit Fallah Bah with a roll of quarters to pick up the victory over him and Scarlett Bordeaux this week. After the match, however, Tessa Blanchard prevented OVE from doing more damage as the former Knockouts champion continues to build a rivalry with the team from Ohio.

Jessicka Havok Attacks, Led By James Mitchell

A non-title match (Taya only defends her title when she has to) between Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie was thrown out this week when James Mitchell marched his newest monster to the ring. Jessika Havok made her return to Impact and the Knockouts division just got a whole lot bigger and stronger.

Jordynne Grace Over-Powers Kiera Hogan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Cf9h7VxsiU

After dropping a Knockouts title match at Rebellion in April, Jordynne Grace has been on a tear. She picked up another win this week over a game Kiera Hogan. She will have another chance to take out Taya for the title tonight at “A Night You Can’t Mist.”

Madman Fulton Takes Out 2 Opponents

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQfmTdYGDII

  • Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, & Sabu defeated Moose & the North

Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam, and Sabu kicked off this week’s episode with a win in 6-man tag action. They defeated the team of Moose and Josh Alexander & Ethan Page (the North).

Rosemary Blames James Mitchell For Allie’s Death

Rosemary and James Mitchell had a chat in the undead realm this week. Mitchell reminded Rosemary that Allie went with him willingly into the undead realm but Rosemary disagreed.

Rosemary choked Mitchell before telling him to leave while he still could. She also said that Su Yung would continue to be her prisoner.

The Sandman Gifts His Singapore Cane to Eddie Edwards

8 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 5/10

Impact Wrestling 5/10 was the 2nd episode taped the night after Rebellion in Toronto’s Rebel Nightclub. An 8-Man street fight featuring OVE against Tommy Dreamer, Rich Swann, Fallah Bah, and Willie Mack would headline the show.

Here are 8 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 5/10:

Rob Van Dam Defeated Ethan Page

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUihBwmAn70
  • RVD defeated Ethan Page

Rob Van Dam took on and defeated Ethan Page last night on Impact Wrestling. The match had been set-up by Page confronting RVD last week.

I was at the tapings live and Rob Van Dam got the biggest reaction of the night. Ethan Page and Josh Alexander are really popular in Toronto as well but Rob Van Dam was clearly the featured act of the night.

OVE Stand Tall To End The Show

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1_ZS4nVL-Y
  • OVE defeated Willie Mack, Rich Swann, Tommy Dreamer, & Fallah Bah

Last night’s main event was a street fight between OVE against Tommy Dreamer, Willie Mack, Rich Swann, and Fallah Bah.

OVE is perhaps at the strongest it has ever been ever since Sami Callihan added Madman Fulton into the group. They were able to pick up the win in a plunder-filled main event after Callihan gave Willie Mack a “Cactus Special” piledriver onto a pile of lego.

LAX and the Rascalz Hang Out

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHSLw6NnBkQ

LAX and the Rascalz spent some time hanging out in the Rascalz clubhouse this week. Trey, Wentz, and Dez had some trouble keeping up with what they were drinking, however.

Madison Rayne Gets Non-Title Win Over Taya Valkyrie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ggr1U64ZTWo
  • Madison Rayne defeated Taya Valkyrie – Non Title

Taya refused to defend her title in this match against Madison Rayne. Valkyrie explained she only has to defend her title once every 30 days and was not willing to put the belt on the line in this match.

Valkyrie then submitted rather easily to a single-leg crab. The victory likely means Madison Rayne will receive a title match sometime in the near future.

Tessa Blanchard was on commentary and stated her belief that Rayne deserves a title shot and Valkyrie took the easy way out of the match.

Kiera Hogan Says Rosemary Can “Die Like Allie”

Kiera Hogan cut a backstage promo this week. Hogan abandoned Rosemary last week as she was being attacked by Su Yung and her minions. This week, Kiera Hogan told Melissa Santos and Jordynne Grace that she doesn’t need friends and that Rosemary can “die like Allie” for all she cares.

The Desi-Hit Squad Pull Out A Win!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsattab7hM0
  • The Desi Hit Squad defeated the Deaners, Aiden Prince & Brent Banks, and the Rascalz

The Great Gama Singh’s tag-team faction doesn’t have the greatest win/loss record in the promotion. They pulled out a big win in a 4-team match this week, however. Rohit Raju picked up the win for his team with a roll-up and a handful of trunks.

The win for the Desi Hit Squad probably earns them a match against a highly ranked team in the division.

LAX Win Non-Title Match Against Josh Alexander & Moose

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIgYBZD23dY
  • LAX defeated Josh Alexander & Moose

It’s not clear if Moose is an official member of the North or not. He wears Red and Gold and teams with them frequently but he is not technically Canadian. He is named Moose, however, an iconic Canadian animal.

Regardless, LAX picked up the win over Alexander and Moose this week.

Jordynne Grace Back In The Win Column

“Let’s wrestle”

Banks commented “Let’s Wrestle” underneath Tessa’s picture. Other wrestlers such as Madison Rayne, Aerial Monroe, Diamante, and multiple posts from MLW’s Salina De La Renta appear as well.

Some fans might take Banks’ comment on Blanchard’s photo as the former Women’s Champion taking note of who might be available for her to wrestle when she is contractually free from WWE. Banks has been keeping a low-profile as of late but her social media account provides some clues as to what she has been doing for the last month.

Banks appeared to take part in a goat yoga session:

She also commented on getting to meet several Make A Wish Kids over WrestleMania weekend:

Impact Wrestling presented the first of two episodes taped the night after Rebellion from the Rebel Nightclub in Toronto. I was in attendance for the show and will provide live notes throughout this post.

Here are 8 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 5/3:

Rob Van Dam Is Back! Will Face Ethan Page Next Week

Rob Van Dam came out this week but his return was interrupted by “All Ego” Ethan Page.

As a member of “the North” and well-known independent wrestler from the nearby city of Hamilton, Page had plenty of supporters in the crowd but RVD got the largest reaction of the tapings.

RVD has been talking about how many on the Impact roster have been stealing his moves. Page noted that he doesn’t steal RVD’s moves and RVD was never a hero to him. The segment ended with a Van Daminator. A single’s match between the two was booked for next week.

Michael Elgin Is #1 Contender

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-ZsZv6cuCQ
  • Michael Elgin defeated Johnny Impact, Pentagon Jr. – 3-Way Match

Michael Elgin kicked things off last night with an in-ring promo. He noted that it is customary for a new World Champion to kick off the episode after winning the title but in this case, Brian Cage is unable to do so due to injury.

Elgin was interrupted by both Johnny Impact and Konnan. Johnny disputed Elgin’s claim to a title shot and so did Konnan, who felt former world champion Pentagon deserved a shot as well. It was agreed that the 3 would meet in a triple threat match in the night’s main event, with the winner being declared the new #1 contender to Brian Cage’s title.

Pentagon Jr. injured:

Elgin got the win in the night’s main event but arguably the bigger story is Pentagon Jr. suffering an injury during the bout. My section was on the other side of the ring so I didn’t have a great view of it, however.

Something got messed up between Johnny and Pentagon as Johnny was going for a hurricanrana to the floor and Pentagon stayed down after. A medic and several referees helped him to the back as he was favoring his leg. There are no available updates on his condition other than he is dealing with an “undisclosed leg injury.”

Brian Cage Is Injured

It was noted on last night’s episode that Brian Cage is injured. He was taken to hospital following Rebellion with a back injury. Cage then said doctors told him they believe he suffered a deep bone bruise/inflammation or minor fracture after a Standing Spanish Fly from the entrance ramp to the floor.

He said on Busted Open Radio this Monday he didn’t expect to miss much time but he was pulled from the tapings this weekend due to the injury.

Madison Rayne Vs Taya Valkyrie Next Week – Non-Title

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttDMcpSRbeE

Madison Rayne confronted Taya Valkyrie in the back this week. Rayne noted that Taya has never defeated her. Valkyrie woudln’t agree to deend her title but will face Madison Rayne in single’s competition next week.

Kiera Hogan Left Rosemary To Su Yung & Her Minions

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pUk8fBQTIg
  • Kiera Hogan vs Rosemary – No Contest

A match between Kiera Hogan and Rosemary was thrown out this week when the Undead Bridesmaids interfered. The undead brides were attempting to rescue the Undead Maid of Honor who had been abducted by Rosemary last week.

Hogan was on the entrance ramp as Su Yung and her minions attacked Rosemary. She appeared to have second thoughts about getting in the ring and rescuing Rosemary, however, and in fact, never did come to her aid. What this means for her in the Rosemary/Su Yung/Undead Realm angle is unclear.

Killer Kross/Eddie Edwards Rivalry Brewing?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBNvm0DxC3g
  • Fenix defeated Eddie Edwards

Killer Kross came out during the Eddie Edwards vs Fenix match last night. He stood ominously on the entrance ramp for a large chunk of the match.

Kross offered Eddie Edwards his kendo stick to use but then wouldn’t let go of it when Eddie grabbed for it. The distraction was all Fenix needed to go on offense and pick up the win with a muscle buster.

What does Kross want with Eddie Edwards?

Ace Austin defeated a former X-Division Champion in Petey Williams this week. The win over Petey Williams could help Austin gain momentum as he gears up to challenge for the X-Division title on Sunday at Code Red. Quick Results:

Tessa Blanchard On If She Will End Up In WWE At Some Point

Tessa Blanchard is considered to be one of the most talented female wrestlers of the current era and a lot of people find it surprising that the Impact Wrestling Star has not been signed by WWE.

She did make some appearances for the company during the Mae Young Classic tournament in 2017 and she was also called in to do a role in Paige’s biography Fighting With My Family, but never offered a full-time contract.

During a recent appearance on Chris Jericho’s Talk is Jericho podcast, Blanchard talked about her stints with the promotion and when asked if she will end up in WWE at some point, she claimed that she is uncertain about it now.

The former Impact Knockouts Champion was asked if she will end up in WWE at some point and replying to it, she said that she is not sure because her dream has changed a little bit.

According to her, she has stopped thinking too far ahead because that’s where she gets into her head too much and starts worrying about things.

Continuing on the topic, she said that living in the moment by going with her gut and doing what feels right has been working for her so far.

Though later she also talked about the WWE performers she would like to wrestle saying that she will like to get in the ring with Charlotte Flair and Natalya.

Apart from this Tessa Blanchard also talked about her experience of working with the Rock during the shooting of Fighting With My Family and claimed that he is a very down to earth guy.

11 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 4/27

Impact Wrestling presented their go-home show for this Sunday’s Rebellion PPV in Toronto.

Here are 11 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 4/27.

Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie Can’t Purchase Lance Storm

Johnny Impact came out to the ring this week with his wife Taya and corrupted referee Johnny Bravo. Impact Wrestling officials assigned Lance Storm as the special guest referee at Rebellion to prevent a corrupt official helping Johnny to retain his title again.

Johnny said he wasn’t upset about Lance Storm being named special referee. He pointed out that Storm helped train him in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Taya mentioned she is a graduate of the Storm Wrestling Academy. Impact seemed confident that he would have Storm in his back pocket for the match but Storm came out live to tell him that was definitely not the case.

“If I can be serious for a minute,” Storm said to Johnny. “My integrity has never been for sale. This Sunday at Rebellion, if you want to remain world champion, you’re beating Brian Cage on your own.”

The segment closed with Johnny attempting to attack Storm but getting super-kicked by Storm in response.

Brian Cage & LAX Defeated Johnny Impact & The Lucha Bros

  • Brian Cage & LAX Defeated Johnny Impact & The Lucha Bros

In this week’s main event, Johnny Impact teamed with the Lucha Bros to take on Brian Cage and LAX. After Taya took out the referee, Full Metal Mayhem rules came early as both teams began to incorporate ladders and chairs into their offence. All metal objects will be legal this Sunday when LAX and the Lucha Bros clash in a Full Metal Mayhem match with the Impact tag titles on the line.

In the end, it was Brian Cage who would pick up the win for his team. Covered in his own blood, Brian Cage pinned Johnny Impact after Weapon-X. If that happens at Rebellion, we will have a new Impact World Champion.

Taya Valkyrie Attacked Jordynne Grace In The Gym

Taya Valkyrie attacked Jordynne Grace this week inside a gym. Luckily there were no other people there at the time. Grace and Valkyrie fought throughout the area as the two prepare to clash over the Knockouts title on Sunday. Valkyrie gave Grace a brutal DDT on top of some weights to end the segment.

Killer Kross Choked Out Willie Mack

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdILsECBDeU
  • Killer Kross defeated Willie Mack

An altercation in the back set up a match between these two tonight. Kross picked up the victory when he reversed a standing moonsault into the Cross Jacket choke.

Kross has been unbeatable as of late and could easily find himself back in title contention post-Rebellion.

Rob Van Dam Feels Impact Wrestlers Are Stealing His Moves

Rob Van Dam has not been as complimentary of some of the X-Division wrestlers on the roster as one might expect a new signing to be. RVD has repeatedly said there are wrestlers on the roster who steal his moves.

In a backstage interview this week, RVD mentioned Willie Mack using a frog splash that Mack refers to as a “6-Star Frog Splash”. RVD also commented on X-Division Champion Rich Swann being “a mark for RVD.” Is it possible RVD is going to rub some the wrong way in the Impact locker room when he arrives next week?

Rosemary Abducted An Undead Brides Maid

  • Rosemary defeated An Undead Maid of Honor

Su Yung is short one Undead Maid of Honor after Rosemary abducted her opponent this week. Rosemary used the poison mist and a spear to defeat one of Su Yung’s minions. She then attached a chain and leash to the Undead Maid of Honor and took her after the match was over.

Rich Swann Visited The OVE Compound

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BG7Q1PJjWM

Rich Swann seemed conflicted this week. The now clean-shaven X-Division Champion wanted Sami Callihan to come out and talk but Sami wouldn’t oblige. Earlier this week, Callihan demanded Impact Wrestling officials make his match with Swann a no-disqualification match or he would reveal spoilers for Avengers: Endgame.

Moose and the North Attacked The Rascalz

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddm5n1FsLY8

Moose called all the Rascalz to meet him outside of the smoking circle this week. The Big Money Moose wants to expand the group of him and the Rascalz. The Rascalz figured he would be mad because of the big upset Trey was able to get on him last week though but Moose said he just wanted to introduce them to his new friends, the North. Moose, Josh Alexander, and Ethan Page than took the beating to the Rascalz.

Eddie Edwards Beat Eli Drake Out Of The Territory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5Zp_vTWvnk

Eli Drake is gone from Impact Wrestling but he was still with the company during the Windsor tapings last month. He kicked off this week’s episode by saying the old Eddie Edwards is dead. This brought out Edwards who reclaimed his kendo stick from Drake and took the beating to the former Impact World Champion.

Eddie continued to beat Drake with the kendo stick all the way out of St. Clair College and into free agency.

Ace Austin Had A Card Up His Sleeve/Petey Williams Made The Save

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrT1dA8pUYg
  • Ace Austin defeated Aiden Prince

Ace Austin picked up a win in single’s action this week. He defeated Aiden Prince to open up the show. Austin showed during the match that he’s not afraid to engage in underhanded tactics to get the win as well. In the match’s closing moments, Austin used an Ace of Spades playing card to deliver a paper cut in between his opponent’s fingers.

After the match, Austin continued the beatdown on his opponent but hometown boy Petey Williams made the save. Austin is someone who may have X-Division gold in his aspirations and he’s about to enter into a program with a former X-Division champion.

The Deaners Have Arrived In Impact Wrestling

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYbXQvjPbm0
  • The Deaners defeated Halal Beefcake

Halal Beefcake and the Deaners, 2 Canadian independent tag teams, clashed this week on Impact. The Deaners picked up the victory and subsequently move up the tag team rankings in the promotion. The Deaners have signed Impact contracts and look like they will become a bigger part of the tag division after Rebellion.

Quick Results from Impact Wrestling 4/27:

  1. Ace Austin defeated Aiden Prince
  2. Rosemary defeated An Undead Maid Of Honor
  3. Killer Kross defeated Willie Mack
  4. The Deaners defeated Halal Beefcake
  5. Brian Cage & LAX Defeated Johnny Impact & The Lucha Bros

6 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 4/12

Impact Wrestling is building towards Rebellion on April 28th in Toronto. They presented a taped show from Windsor last night on Pursuit and Twitch.

The show was headlined by a mixed-gender tag team match pitting Impact World Champion Johnny Impact and Knockouts champion Taya Valkyrie against Brian Cage and Jordynne Grace.

6 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 4/12:

Referee Screws Brian Cage Out Of Main Event Victory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdCbvmBNXoU
  • Main Event: Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie defeated Brian Cage & Jordynne Grace

Just as Brian Cage looked like he had the champion right where he wanted him in this week’s main event, referee Johnny Bravo delivered a chop block to his leg. This allowed Impact to hit the shining wizard and pick up the win. Cage attempted to get revenge on the referee after the match but a low blow by Taya allowed the champion to once again deliver a post-match beatdown to the #1 contender.

Johnny Bravo and Taya Valkyrie hugged after the match and the Impact World champion gave the crooked-referee a professional handshake. With Impact Wrestling’s senior referee in his back pocket, is there any stopping Johnny Impact now?

Gail Kim Costs Tessa Blanchard Match Against Madison Rayne

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCvJSqXhQLU
  • Madison Rayne defeated Tessa Blanchard

Tessa Blanchard was far too concerned with Gail Kim’s presence at ringside than she was on her opponent, Madison Rayne this week. When Kim prevented Blanchard from using a steel chair against Rayne, the distraction was all Rayne needed to score the pinfall with a roll-up. Rayne is now 3-0 against Blanchard in Impact.

It’s clear Blanchard can’t move forward in the Knockouts division until she gets rid of Gail Kim. They will meet one-on-one in Toronto at Rebellion.

As for Rayne, she’ll move on to face Taya Valkyrie in non-title action next week.

Moose Continues To Dominate the Rascalz

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dChlmblCCZE
  • Moose defeated Wentz (the Rascalz)

Moose has proved his dominance over the ragtag troupe of the Rascalz in recent weeks. He has invaded their smoking circle and physically assaulted them and he’s defeated them in the ring as well.

This week, Moose opened up the broadcast by defeating Wentz in single’s action. Moose will take on Dez next week.

Su Yung Takes Out Rosemary & Kiera Hogan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyVIXnB6Ju8
  • Su Yung vs Rosemary – No Contest

Rosemary and Su Yung met in single’s action this week but the match was thrown out after a brawl at ringside involving the undead bridesmaids broke out. Kiera Hogan had come to ringside which resulted in her and Rosemary arguing (Rosemary doesn’t want Hogan involved). This led to the scuffle at ringside with the zombie brides.

Yung hit Rosemary with the mandible claw and forced Kiera Hogan to watch as she delivered Panic Switch to her rival.

Yung was then curiously announced as the winner of the match despite having done no such thing.

OVE Visit Baltimore

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IBgY25-NaI

Sami Callihan, Madman Fulton, and the rest of OVE cut a promo from Rich Swann’s hometown of Baltimore this week. It was announced last week that Callihan and Swann will clash one-on-one at Rebellion for the X-Division championship. With the gigantic Fulton now backing him up, Callihan has never been more dangerous.

The North Have Arrived In The Tag Team Division

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxwpRZvi_hk
  • the North defeated El Reverso & Sheldon Jean

“All Ego” Ethan Page and “the Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander have joined forces in Impact Wrestling. The two Canadian wrestlers will wrestle under the team name “the North.”

All Ego” Ethan Page and “the Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander have joined forces in Impact Wrestling. The two Canadian wrestlers will wrestle under the team name “the North.”

Page and Alexander were victorious this week over a pair of local wrestlers. They aren’t the only new tag team in Impact, however, as vignettes for the Deaners have been airing in recent weeks as well.

Quick Results:

  • Moose beat Wentz (Rascalz)
  • Su Yung vs Rosemary – No Contest
  • the North defeated El Reverso & Sheldon Jean
  • Madison Rayne defeated Tessa Blanchard
  • Main Event: Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie defeated Brian Cage & Jordynne Grace

8 Takeaways from Impact Wrestling 4/5

LAX Lose To Eli Drake & Eddie Edwards After Lucha Bros Distraction

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bUKS6xm5T0

Eddie Edwards and Eli Drake picked up the upset victory over LAX last night in the main event. They received some help from Pentagon Jr. and Fenix, however, who provided a momentary distraction which allowed Drake and Edwards to gain the advantage.

The tag champs then continued the attack on LAX after the match was over, perhaps to soften up their opponents before Rebellion. The two teams will face each other in a Full Metal Mayhem match on the PPV. Pentagon put Santana through a table to conclude the show. Tables and all other weapons will be legal at Rebellion.

Jordynne Grace vs Taya Valkyrie II Booked For Rebellion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBfThfMc6mY

Jordynne Grace defeated Madison Rayne this week to earn another title shot against Taya Valkyrie. The first time the two met, Valkyrie utilized her champion’s advantage to duck tail and run, resulting in a count-out victory for Grace.

After Grace’s victory tonight, she was attacked by Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie. Impact World Champion, Johnny Impact, accompanied Taya as the promotion’s power couple continues to protect each other’s titles.

Brian Cage Makes The Save For Jordynne Grace

After Grace had defeated Rayne, she was attacked by Taya Valkyrie and Johnny Impact. The Impact World Champion was going to deliver a top rope move to Grace but Brian Cage made the save.

A mixed tag match was booked for next week between Brian Cage & Grace vs Johnny & Taya.

Rosemary Vows Revenge

Rosemary was shown in a cemetery this week. She cut a promo about Allie’s death from last week. During her promo, it may have been revealed that Kevin Sullivan (or a being in Kevin Sullivan form) is Rosemary’s father.

Rosemary lamented that she could have done more to protect Allie.

Petey Williams Picks Up X-Division Scramble Win

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTybKCRAZcY

Williams made his return to Impact Wrestling last night with a win in an X-Division 6-man scramble match to kick off the show. Williams pinned Jake Crist after a Canadian Destroyer from the top.

Is this the beginning of Williams moving back to the top of the division?

Tommy Dreamer Rescues Rich Swann From OVE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9Gvolz1iU4

Rich Swann may have defeated Sami Callihan when the X-Division title was on the line but the Draw picked up a measure of revenge on the champion this week. Callihan teamed with the newest member of OVE, Madman Fulton, and defeated Swann and Willie Mack in tag action this week.

After the match, OVE continued the beatdown of Swann but Tommy Dreamer made the save.

Later in the night, Impact would announce Rich Swann and Sami Callihan will once again face each other for the X-Division championship at Rebellion.

Rohit Raju Gets In The Win Column

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYd8iAyvTvs

Gama Singh’s Desi Hit Squad don’t have the greatest win/loss record in the tag team division, but Rohit Raju got in the win column this week. Although it took outside interference from his stablemates, Raju defeated Fallah Bah. Unfortunately for him, the action wasn’t over after the bell rang.

Scarlett Bordeaux and Fallah Bah Take Out The Desi Hit Squad

After Raju defeated Fallah Bah this week, Scarlett Bordeaux hit the ring. Her distraction allowed Fallah Bah to take the Desi Hit Squad down with a double clothesline. This allowed Bordeaux to land a running hip attack to the downed squad in the corner.

Will we see Scarlett Bordeaux and Fallah Bah team up more in Impact?

Quick Results:

  1. 6-Man Scramble: Petey Williams defeated Jake Crist, Trey, Idris Abraham, Ace Austin, and Aiden Prince
  2. Sami Callihan & Madman Fulton defeated Rich Swann & Willie Mack
  3. Jordynne Grace defeated Madison Rayne
  4. Rohit Raju defeated Fallah Bah
  5. Eli Drake & Eddie Edwards defeated LAX
