8 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 3/29

Impact Wrestling presented a special branded show “Against All Odds” last night on Pursuit and Twitch.

Here are 8 Takeaways from Impact Wrestling 3/29:

Allie Killed Off In The Undead Realm

Rosemary traveled to the undead realm last night in an attempt to regain Allie’s soul. It was then revealed that Kevin Sullivan (or a being in Kevin Sullivan form) was the leader of the realm. During Sullivan’s speech to Rosemary, Su Yung struck and stabbed Allie in the neck.

As Allie lay dying, she became “whole again” and reverted back to the Allie of old.

Gail Kim To Face Tessa Blanchard At Rebellion

Gail Kim did resign from her position in Impact Wrestling as Tessa Blanchard wanted her too. What Blanchard likely did not want, however, is for Gail to announce she was coming out of retirement in order to come after her.

With Rebellion coming up next month from Gail Kim’s hometown, could we see the Hall of Famer face arguably the hottest women’s wrestler in the industry today? A match between the two was made official for the PPV later in the evening.

Taya Valkyrie Saved Her Title Against Jordynne Grace

Taya Valkyrie used her champion’s advantage at Against All Odds against Jordynne Grace. The champion missed a moonsault and Grace looked to capitalize but the champion chose to duck tail and run instead, with help from Impact World champion, Johnny Impact.

Grace might feel as though she is owed another shot at the Knockouts championship.

Johnny Impact Helped Killer Kross Defeat Brian Cage

There was some controversy at the end, but Killer Kross pinned Brian Cage this week. It looked as though Brian Cage kicked out after a Saito suplex at 2.5 but the ref called for the bell. After the match, Johnny Impact continued to deliver the beatdown to his challenger at Rebellion.

Taya brought out a chair which Johnny used to target Cage’s arm. It seems Impact and Taya will do anything to save each other’s titles. Johnny wants to make sure that Cage goes into Rebllion injured.

Scarlett Bordeaux Defeated Glenn Gilbertti

Scarlett Boardeaux defeated Glenn Gilbertti this week on Impact in inter-gender action. The Smoke Show is now showing she can get things done in the ring as well but will her success against the former Disco Inferno carry over when she enters the Knockouts division?

LAX Vs Lucha Bros – Full Metal Mayhem At Rebellion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJwIiK-ie1c

Konnan warned each team against entering into this rivalry. Now, one team, the Lucha Bros, have turned their back on Konnan completely. This week, it was having Konnan in their corner which gave LAX the advantage. Konnan’s taunting of his former allies, allowed LAX to recover and put both Pentagon and Fenix through tables.

This feud has been contested 2-on-2 up until now. With Konnan now in the corner of LAX and pulling for their victory over Pentagon and Fenix, that could be all Santana and Ortiz need to regain their titles.

A match between the two teams was made later in the evening, under Full Metal Mayhem rules to take place at Rebellion.

Sami Callihan Introduces The Newest Member of OVE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6RXsGkzt34

Last week, Madman Fulton was introduced as the newest member of OVE. Fulton attacked Rich Swann following Swann’s successful X-Division title match against Callihan. This week, we saw backstage segments of OVE along with their newest and largest member.

With this new member of OVE in his midst, Callihan might be at his most dangerous.

United We Stand – April 4th

United We Stand takes place on Thursday. On the Twitch version last night, Rob Van Dam vs AJ Styles was shown as the GWN Moment of the week. RVD’s return to the promotion is now just days away. Here is the lineup for Thursday’s PPV on FITE:

  • Extreme Dream Tag Match: The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) vs Rob Van Dam & Sabu
  • Knockouts Championship: Taya Valkyrie (c) vs. Rosemary vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Katie Forbes
  • X-Division Championship: Rich Swann (c) vs Yamato (Dragon Gate)
  • Ultimate X: Jake Crist vs Dante Fox vs Pat Buck vs Kotto Brazil vs Jack Evans vs Johnny Impact
  • Monster’s Ball: Sami Callihan vs Jimmy Havoc
  • Impact vs Lucha Underground
Brian Cage, Moose, Eddie Edwards, & TBD (Impact) vs Drago, Aerostar, Daga, & King Cuerno (Lucha Underground)

Quick Results:

  1. Scarlett Bordeaux defeated Glenn Gilbertti
  2. Knockouts Championship: Jordynne Grace defeated Taya Valkyrie via DQ
  3. Killer Kross defeated Brian Cage

WOW Announces First All Women’s Wrestling School in the U.S.; The WOW Training Center in Long Beach Features Trainers Tessa Blanchard and Selina Majors

Los Angeles, CA – March 6, 2019 – AXS TV announced today, in a live global streaming press conference, that the Network has renewed the hit original series WOW-Women Of Wrestling from Los Angeles Lakers Owner Jeanie Buss and David McLane, founder of the original GLOW “Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling” for a second season. The Network upped its order to 24 additional episodes from the initial eight in the first season, following the unprecedented response from viewers who were captivated by the strong female characters, impressive displays of power and athleticism, and the signature stories and colorful profile segments that have come to define the promotion throughout the years. The can’t-miss season finale airs Friday March 8, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT in a defining episode that chronicles the journey of the Superheroes and includes the first tag team match of the season, Stephy Slays demonstrating perseverance, and a title match between Champion Tessa Blanchard and the Monster of Madness Jessicka Havok.

“WOW is proud to partner with AXS TV to bring this incredible promotion to viewers across the country,” Buss said. “It is an honor to be able to continue this organization’s long tradition of showcasing the absolute best in all-female wrestling. The women of WOW appeal to a wide and diverse audience because of their strength, competitive spirit, and impressive athleticism, and the tremendous viewer response we’ve received is proof of that. This season was just the beginning, and we are all excited to build on our initial success with the delivery of new episodes airing in fall.”

Since its AXS TV debut on January 18, 2019, the series has garnered impressive gains in viewership, smashing records en route to establishing itself as one of the highest-performing original series among live viewers in the Network’s 18-year history.

“We listened to the fans as to what they wanted to see in women’s wrestling and are extremely pleased with the overwhelming response we’ve received from the viewers, it has been truly incredible,” McLane said. “Our Superheroes are authentic and real, and that comes across in each episode. People are captivated by their unique personalities, and they truly get invested in their stories –we are so happy they love tuning in to cheer on their favorite wrestlers. We look forward to providing our viewers with even more insights into the back stories of these amazing athletes and their epic battles with WOW’s future episodes on AXS TV.”

AXS TV is the exclusive broadcasting home for WOW-Women Of Wrestling, which airs every Friday as part of the Network’s highly successful “AXS TV Fights”—a hard-hitting lineup that also includes the New Japan Pro Wrestling promotion, and live MMA action from Legacy Fighting Alliance.

“WOW is the perfect complement to the AXS TV Fights lineup,” said Andrew Simon, AXS TV Fights CEO. “Whereas New Japan Pro Wrestling tends to focus on male competitors, WOW offers a totally unique platform that allows these strong female wrestlers to shine, putting the spotlight on their skills as both athletes and entertainers. It has become a very popular part of our Friday night lineup, and we are proud to be able to serve as the long-term home for this groundbreaking promotion.”

WOW is the only weekly women’s wrestling series on television, and has amassed a dedicated fan base on the strength of the unique personalities and true inspiring stories of the captivating warriors that go toe-to-toe in the promotion’s signature purple ring. The series puts the spotlight on WOW’s powerhouse roster, featuring over 30 wrestlers including pro wrestling royalty—and current WOW Champion—Tessa Blanchard and Santana Garrett, as well as fan-favorites such as The Beast, Jungle Grrrl, The All-Natural Khloe Hurtz, Fire, Stephy Slays, The Governor’s Daughter Abilene Maverick, Samantha Smart, Princess Aussie, and more. In its inaugural season on AXS TV, WOW introduced a fresh crop of emerging new Superheroes to the pro wrestling scene, and treated viewers to an intense rivalry between pro-wrestling legacies, as “Born Legend™” Tessa Blanchard challenged—and ultimately defeated—long-time WOW titleholder Santana Garrett for the coveted championship belt.

The series features insightful ringside commentary by WOW founder, producer, and match-creator McLane, play-by-play announcer Stephen Dickey, and comedienne Eleanor Kerrigan. Additionally, third-generation wrestling star Shaul Guerrero serves as ring announcer for each event.

Live tapings in association with the new season will be held May 15 and 16 in Los Angeles at the Belasco Theater (1050 South Hill Street). The tapings will begin at 6:30 p.m. PT each night and tickets are available for purchase by clicking here.

In additional WOW news, McLane is excited to announce that the WOW Training Center in Long Beach will be the first all-Women’s Wrestling school in the United States. The trainers of the historic school will be Tessa Blanchard and Selina Majors. The training center provides women seeking to become professional wrestlers with a place to train in a safe and secure environment.

“I am happy to join Selina Majors in providing women with a fully comprehensive training program designed specifically for them,” Blanchard said. “I was trained by men, and while that worked for me, I know a more supportive community for women wanting to join our profession will increase the participation.”

7 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 2/15

Impact Wrestling presented “UnCaged” a special taped show from Mexico City, Mexico. The Knockouts and Impact World Championship were on the line last night. Team AAA would also face Team Impact in a 4-on-4 elimination tag match.

Here are 7 Takeaways from Impact Wrestling 2/15:

Johnny Impact Retained The Impact World Championship

Johnny Impact escaped from Mexico still the Impact World Championship. Much like when he left Nashville with the title, however, he still has Brian Cage gunning for him.

This match was changed from a one-on-one match between Impact and Cage after Moose & Killer Kross defeated them both in a tag match recently. The finish of the match came when Cage hit Kross with Drill Claw and Impact hit Starship Pain on Moose. Impact was able to pin Moose quicker than Cage could do the same to Killer Kross, so Johnny retains.

Between how things ended at Homecoming in Nashville and UnCaged in Mexico City, Brian Cage likely still feels entitled to a one-on-one rematch with the champ.

Taya Valkyrie Retained Her Championship Against Tessa Blanchard In A Mexico City Street Fight

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcsazvgXu5Y

Taya Valkyrie successfully defended her Knockouts Championship against Tessa Blanchard in a street fight this week. The gives Taya a 3-1 lead in the series between the two, albeit one victory came via DQ and her second was largely due to Gail Kim.

This week, Valkyrie picked up the victory with a double foot-stomp through the table after a 20-minute fight to start this week’s show.

As for Blanchard, she’s lost 3 straight to Valkyrie. She might need to string together a few wins before getting another shot at the title.

Tessa Blanchard Pays Homage To 4 Horsemen/ Taya Valkyrie To Perros Del Mal

https://twitter.com/Tess_Blanchard/status/1096833818453889025

Tessa Blanchard paid homage to Tully Blanchard in her street fight with Taya Valkyrie this week. Blanchard wore her father’s old 4 Horsemen shirt from back in the day. She also flashed the four-finger hand-signal to the camera. It was her first match back from suspension as well.

In similar fashion, Valkyrie wore a “Perros Del Mal” t-shirt, the faction she had previously been aligned with while in AAA. Blanchard would disrespect the shirt later in the match by spitting on it.

Team AAA Wins The World Cup

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXMz1lN7WO0

The luchadors of AAA picked up the victory over Team Impact last night. The hometown favorites won largely because Team Impact imploded. Eddie Edwards caused Eli Drake to get eliminated early and then Drake came back to cause Edwards’ elimination to end the match as well.

With Edwards and Psycho Clown as the final two left in the match, Eli Drake returned to the ring area and clocked Edwards with a kendo stick. Psycho Clown rolled up Edwards and got the win for his team.

It was later announced that Edwards will face Drake next week from Las Vegas.

Rich Swann Turned Down His Last Chance To Join OVE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDcqqTQvUjo

It was slipped in without much fanfare but Josh Mathews revealed more about why Callihan wants Swann to join OVE. He said that Swann told him that Callihan wants him in OVE because he has a good credit score and can help rent cars for the faction.

Regardless of the reasons why, Callihan gave Swann his “last chance” to join OVE this week. Swann opted to throw the shirt back in Callihan’s face, kickstarting a fight between the two. The X-Division champ initially got the upper-hand in the skirmish but a thumb to the eyes would reverse the momentum. Callihan then gave Swann a piledriver on the stage area before throwing him off the stage and through a table.

LAX Vs Lucha Bros Rematch – Win, Lose, Or Draw It’s Over

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvbBParC1_8

LAX was shown with Konnan in a backstage segment this week. He told Santana & Ortiz he would go get a rematch for the titles but win, lose, or draw, the next match ends the rivalry between the two teams.

Willie Mack Defeated “All Ego” Ethan Page

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc8MujYyc5I

Ethan Page has lost his mentor. Matt Sydal’s contract with the company ran up and now Page has been left alone to fend for himself in the X-Division. He was in tough this week against the NWA’s National Champion, Willie Mack. Ultimately, Mack would hit the Stunner for the win.

Quick Results:

  1. Knockouts Championship
    Street Fight
Taya Valkyrie (c) defeated Tessa Blanchard
  2. Willie Mack defeated Ethan Page
  3. 2019 World Cup
    Team AAA defeated Team Impact

    1. Puma King eliminated Eli Drake
    2. Fallah Bah eliminated Vikingo
    3. Aerostar eliminated Fallah Bah
    4. Eddie Edwards eliminated Aerostar
    5. Sami Callihan defeated Puma King
    6. Psycho Clown defeated Sami Callihan
    7. Psycho Clown defeated Eddie Edwards
  4. Impact World Championship
    Fatal 4-Way
Johnny Impact (c) defeated Moose vs Killer Kross vs Brian Cage

10 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 1/18

Impact Wrestling presented their second episode on Pursuit last night. The show was also live-streamed on Twitch. Impact was back in the Asylum this week but next week’s episode will be the first from their Mexico tapings held last week.

Here are 10 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 1/18:

LAX Antagonized The Lucha Bros

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mo-9oC7lRQ

In the final moments of Impact Wrestling this week, members of LAX and the Lucha Bros were seen backstage. Santana and Ortiz had just defeated the Crist brothers in the main event when they were approached by Pentagon and Fenix. LAX told the brothers if they ever wanted another beating they could come get it which caused Konnan to react angrily. It seems perhaps not all was settled between these two teams at Homecoming.

Brian Cage Wants His Title Rematch/Not Pleased Johnny Impact Is Defending Against Killer Kross

Brian Cage opened up this week’s edition of Impact Wrestling by attacking KM and Caleb Konley, who was wrestling in the opener.

Cage feels he was robbed of the title at Homecoming and is not happy about Johnny Impact putting the title on the line against Killer Kross next week before him. Cage promised he would be there in Mexico watching the match. When Johnny Impact came out to answer him, however, Killer Kross and Moose jumped him.

A match between Moose and Brian Cage was made for later in the night.

Tessa Blanchard’s Attempted Murder Of Gail Kim

Tessa Blanchard assaulted several people in the back this week before turning her attention to Gail Kim. She strangled the Hall-of-Famer with a set of cords, the consequence of Kim’s refereeing at Homecoming costing her the belt.

Blanchard was promptly suspended by Scott D’Amore for her actions.

Gail Kim was on this week’s Impact Press Pass. I had the chance to ask her about the Knockouts division and she also commented on possibly coming out of retirement for one more match.

OVE Want Rich Swann To “Come Home”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0cauwhCcgo

Sami Callihan refers to Rich Swann as “Family”. He’s said to Swann it’s time to come home. We’ve heard Swann tell Willie Mack that messing with Sami Callihan isn’t a good idea, though we know little else about their previous relationship, other than they’ve wrestled a bunch on the independents.

Swann defeated Trey from the Rascalz this week. After the match, however, the members of OVE offered him a shirt and a spot in their faction. LAX came out before Swann could really respond, however, and the main event between OVE and LAX began.

Trey Miguel Didn’t Win Homecoming King

In a scene reminiscent of “That 70s Show” (surprisingly good upon rewatching), the Rascalz got some things off their chest this week. Trey was upset that despite his suit and crown, he didn’t win Homecoming King. Evidently, Homecoming King is not even a thing.

Zachary and Dezmond lamented over their loss to the Lucha Bros last week but Trey quickly found a way to end the conversation.

Jordynne Grace Defeated Dark Allie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfkIHmq38h8

Allie took her first loss since returning from the underworld this week. She lost to the impressive Jordynne Grace, who continues her undefeated streak in Impact Wrestling. She got the win with something of a pump-handle driver. Callis mentioned that Grace just dominated Allie.

Su Yung got up on the ring apron during the match and tried to cause a distraction. Perhaps, a Jordynne Grace vs Su Yung clash is not long off. Should Grace get the win there, it’s likely she’ll be in the Knockouts title picture sooner rather than later.

Rosemary Confronts Dark Allie

After Grace defeated Allie, Su Yung entered the ring and outstretched her hand to Allie. The lights went off, however, and when they came back Su Yung had turned into Rosemary. Allie bolted from the ring.

The commentary team couldn’t figure out what happened to Su Yung.

Brian Cage Defeated Moose

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg3AsCRbzX8

Brian Cage picked up a win over Moose tonight in a bout between two wrestlers who have been at the top of the Impact roster for the last year. Moose tried to bring a chair into the ring but Cage wasn’t deterred. He ducked the chair shot, hit a knee to the face, and then Drill Claw for the win.

Moose has picked up a few losses in a row recently after also having lost to Eddie Edwards at Homecoming as well.

Eli Drake Says Eddie Edwards Is “A Hardcore Loser”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUFzKAeK4NA

Eddie Edwards’ match with Ethan Page was evidently not hardcore enough for the Boston native. He got himself disqualified after hitting his opponent with a kendo stick. Eli Drake, who has spoken out against hardcore wrestling, cut a promo on Edwards after the match. He said Edwards just needs to put on a bit more weight and he’d look just like Tommy Dreamer. Drake said that ever since Edwards went “hardcore” he’s fallen out of the title scene and it’s time for the old Eddie Edwards to come back.

The Winner Of The Smoke Show’s Talent Search Is…Scarlett Bordeaux

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbKfmmjXpjA

Scarlett Bordeaux announced she was the winner of her global talent search. While this news was a little anti-climactic, Bordeaux also announced that she’s going to start competing in the ring, which more than makes up for her lack of a talent search winner. Bordeaux is about to become a competing member of the Knockouts division, which should add to an already deep division.

Quick Results:

  1. KM vs Caleb Konley – No Contest
  2. Ethan Page defeated Eddie Edwards via DQ
  3. Jordynne Grace defeated Dark Allie
  4. Brian Cage defeated Moose
  5. LAX defeated OVE

Next Week:

  • Impact World Championship
Johnny Impact (c) vs Killer Kross
  • Taya Valkyrie Returns

Jeanie Buss Discusses Her Goals For WOW Ahead Of AXS TV Debut

With WOW set to return to television, the promotion’s co-owner Jeanie Buss held a media conference call this week to discuss her goals for the wrestling company.

Buss, also the controlling owner and team president of the Los Angeles Lakers, is partnering with founder David McClane on a reboot of the early 2000s series, set to debut on AXS TV tonight, January 18th.

“[McClane] invited me to come see the Women of Wrestling, and I’d never seen it before,” Buss said. “As soon as I saw it, I fell in love with it, because it made sense.”

After seeing a live event, Buss decided to come on as an investor and used her cache to help land the television deal.

The show will be produced by Survivor and The Apprentice producer, Mark Burnett.

“These were strong female heroes, who were taking on their own battles, fighting for what they believe in.”

WOW’s Original Run And Relaunch

WOW had a short run in syndication, and was similar in look and feel to McClane’s 1980s promotion GLOW, the inspiration for the recent Netflix series of the same name.

After a hiatus, WOW returned in 2013 with a series of live events and later launched a digital series on YouTube.

The relaunch featured more of an emphasis on athleticism than the over the top gimmicks of the show’s first iteration, as evidenced by their roster. Santana Garrett, who has done enhancement work for WWE on NXT television, is the group’s current champion.

Garrett will defend her title on the premiere episode of WOW on AXS TV on Friday night.

Buss sees the television show as a vehicle for people like Garrett to show that they belong in the spotlight.

“They deserve a platform, to be seen,” said Buss. “To take center stage, not be the undercard, not be the sideshow.”

“This is their time, and I’m really proud to be part of this team that’s bringing it together.”

Jeanie Buss Sees WOW As A Touring Brand

Beyond the television property, Buss sees the potential for WOW as a touring company.

“I’d like it to be a touring company, with merchandising and broadcast,” Buss told the L.A. Times.

“And that the girls will become household names, that they will be stars. Because they deserve to be stars.”

WOW debuts Friday Night at 9 PM ET on AXS TV.

Tessa Blanchard Opens Up On Working With The Rock

Tessa Blanchard is a busy woman.

The third-generation star not only carries Impact Wrestling’s women’s division, but figures to be the centerpiece for WOW as it debuts on AXS TV.

In addition, if you look closely, you just might see Blanchard on the silver screen, as she has a unique role in the upcoming Fighting With My Family, which is set to debut at Sundance.

Blanchard talked about her work in the film on this week’s Jim Ross Report.

“I was the stunt double for Paige,” Blanchard said. “I did all the workouts, all the wrestling, anything athletic as Paige.”

Blanchard tells Jim Ross that the film schedule was grueling, but that it also provided some invaluable experiences.

“We spent about three months out in Los Angeles, then I flew over to the United Kingdom and finished working on the movie there,” said Blanchard.

“It was absolutely amazing, because we had the opportunity to get in the ring and train with The Rock.”

Blanchard had nothing but good things to relate about her time working with one of the biggest movie stars in the world.

“What a patient, down to earth person,” Blanchard said. “He really cares about the finished product, so he takes the time to work on the details with us.”

“It was absolutely special.”

Tessa Blanchard On WOW

As WOW’s premiere episode airs this week, Blanchard is fired up about the platform that AXS TV provides.

“When we debut on Friday, every woman on the show will be making history in a different way,” said Blanchard.

“I want to be great. I don’t want to be passable. I want to be one of the best in the world one day.”

WOW premieres Friday at 9/8 Central on AXS TV. You can here JR’s full interview with Tessa Blanchard here.

Gail Kim Gives A “State Of The Knockouts Division” Address

Gail Kim’s officiating at Homecoming came under fire last week when Taya Valkyrie defeated Tessa Blanchard for the Knockouts Championship. She was asked about her officiating in the match as well as the potential for her coming out of retirement for one more match with Tessa Blanchard on today’s Impact Wrestling Press Pass.

“Yes, there’s a lot of controversy in terms of my officiating at the Homecoming PPV,” Kim said. “That moment just built up to what happened and I’m going to defend myself. Tessa was abusing authority at that point.”

Kim continued to say that DQ’ing Blanchard was “the easy way out.”

Last week on Impact Wrestling, Blanchard used Kim’s Eat Defeat move to win a single’s match. This has led to speculation Kim could come out of retirement for one more match against Tessa Blanchard.

“It depends on the circumstances and how far I’m pushed,” Kim said regarding coming out of retirement. “I think it goes honestly by how my body feels at that moment because still to this day since I retired last February my back gives me a lot of problems.”

She continued to say that she is getting an update on her back shortly, however, and if she feels good she wouldn’t object to one more match. Kim also wants to know how bad the fans want to see it as well.

Gail Kim On Dark Allie, Su Yung, & Rosemary

I had the chance to ask Kim on the call what the dark storyline featuring Su Yung, Dark Allie, & Rosemary brings to the division.

“I think it’s the first time that I’ve ever witnessed in my time female dark characters of this magnitude,” Kim said.

Kim then spoke regarding the diversity of characters earlier in the Knockout division’s history.

“I feel like what really broke the mold with the original Knockouts division is when we had a variety of characters like ODB and Awesome Kong,” Kim continued. “Things you had never seen before and then it kind of opened that door to different types of characters. Rosemary came along and Su Yung made that transition, because she’s been wrestling a really long time, and now we have Dark Allie. I’ll say they proved me wrong because I always thought there isn’t space for 3 dark characters.”

Kim continued to say Rosemary is the most popular Knockout currently and she’s been injured for a long time. She also mentioned that kids enjoy the storyline.

Gail Kim On Wrestlers Impact Wrestling Could Sign

Kim was also asked about what female Superstars on the independent scene she’d like to sign. Her answer suggests she’s frustrated with other wrestling promotions signing up lots of talent.

“There’s a couple of girls I guess but I almost don’t want to say it because WWE signs everyone,” Kim joked. “There snatching up everyone and making slim pickings for everyone.”

She mentioned rumors that Viper had signed with WWE. Kim also mentioned of Shotzi Blackheart who competed on Impact last year but is currently injured. She then said there are a few girls in Mexico she was interested in bringing into Impact as well.

“I just want more of a pool to pick from,” Kim continued. She continued to say that many prospects are now choosing to turn down WWE, however, feeling as though they would get lost in the shuffle.

Impact Wrestling 1/11 Preview: Debut On Pursuit

Impact Wrestling begins a new era tonight. With the move to the Pursuit channel, Impact retains the digital rights to their show. This means they are also able to stream tonight’s show on their Twitch channel. The show starts at 10 PM est.

Don Callis said on his podcast recently that with the move to the Pursuit channel there will be changes to how the product is presented.  “I think people are gonna love to see a sexier, edgier, maybe a little more hardcore Impact Wrestling,” Callis said. “I’m really really pumped about that, so I’m pretty excited.”

The Impact roster is currently in Mexico filming TV today and tomorrow.

Impact Wrestling 1/11 Preview

Willie Mack vs Sami Callihan

This will be a rematch from Homecoming. Callihan got the win on Sunday but only after receiving some outside help from OVE. They will run it back once again tonight.

Mack’s ally, new X-Division Champion Rich Swann, doesn’t think they should get involved against OVE, however. We’ll see where all this goes tonight.

Johnny Impact Is Out For Revenge

At Homecoming, Johnny was able to successfully defend his Impact World Championship against Brian Cage. Following his victory, however, Killer Kross attacked him and Taya from behind. Tonight, the Impact World Champion Is out for revenge and in his crosshairs is Killer Kross.

The Lucha Bros (Pentagon and Fenix) vs The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Dezmond Xavier)

The Lucha Bros dropped an Impact Tag Team Championship match to LAX at Homecoming. Tonight, they will try to get back in the win column when they take on the Rascalz. This match, in particular, strikes me as one that could steal the show tonight.

Tessa Blanchard Back in Action

Tessa Blanchard likely has a bone to pick with Gail Kim. The Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer attacked Blanchard during her title match at Homecoming. While Blanchard no doubt antagonized her throughout the match, Kim chose to deliver her finisher to Blanchard, which set her up for Taya to hit the Road to Valhalla for the win.

Blanchard will be in single’s action tonight but she likely has a few things to say about what happened on Sunday as well.

Is Dark Allie Here To Stay?

At Homecoming, Rosemary returned and looked as though she was going to place her hand over Allie until Allie backed away and exited the ring. Does Rosemary have the ability to give Allie her soul back? Or is Dark Allie here to stay?

Konnan Reunites With LAX

Konnan chose not to be in the corner of Santana and Ortiz on Sunday. He did come out after the match and congratulated all four competitors, however. Tonight, Konnan plans to reunite with LAX and celebrate yet another championship defense for the team. LAX said they wanted to prove they could win without Konnan but now how does K-Dawg fit into their plans?

Tessa Blanchard is one of the most talented female professional wrestlers of any promotion at the moment. She is a former IMPACT Knockouts Champion and was named Knockout Of The Year for 2018. Blanchard debuted for IMPACT back in April and began a feud with Kiera Hogan. The following August, she won a Triple Threat match against Su Yung and Allie to win the IMPACT Knockouts Championship.

Blanchard successfully defended her title against the likes of Gisele Shaw, Yung, Faby Apache, and many more. Recently, Taya Valkyrie defeated Blanchard at IMPACT “Homecoming,” ending Blanchard’s reign of 147 days. Looking back at 2018 for Blanchard, who began her career back in 2014, it was a very successful year for the 23-year-old. Recently, Blanchard spoke to Wrestling Epicenter and discussed her IMPACT run in 2018.

During the interview, Blanchard was asked about her goals for 2019. The former Knockouts Champion admitted she’s not sure what 2019 holds for her. But one thing is for sure, it’ll be better than 2018:

“You know, I’m not sure what is going to happen in 2019, but I do know that it is going to be better than 2018. That is a huge statement to make because 2018 was absolutely amazing. But, with the WOW Superheroes on AXS TV, which has Mark Cuban and Jeanie Buss behind that.

“I’m so excited for people to see that air in January. With Impact, I hope to retain my Knockouts championship. I hope for women to main event an Impact [PPV] event which has not been done yet. I hope to share the ring with Gail Kim one day – I hope that intergender wrestling can make a breakthrough.

“There are a lot of hopes for 2019. But, you know, I’ve been going moment by moment, match by match, and it seems to be working out so far!”

What do you think about Blanchard’s goals for 2019?

Ultimate X will kick things off!

  1. X-Division Championship
    Ultimate X Match
Rich Swann vs Trey Miguel vs Jake Crist vs Ethan Page

Rich Swann has won the X-Division championship by winning the return match of Ultimate X. It was a match with plenty of high-spots as you would expect. It even started off with all 4 climbing the ropes above the ring, only to hurricanrana each other off.

Ethan Page speared Jake Crist off the ropes which left Swann and Trey Miguel all alone in the ring. Swann was able to beat Miguel to the belt and ended up catching the falling title with his legs in what was likely not exactly the planned finish.

Winner and new X-Division Champion: Rich Swann

Rich Swann was a big fan of the X-Division growing up.

2. Allie & Su Yung vs Kiera Hogan & Jordynne Grace

Rosemary returns! And perhaps she has the ability to return Dark Allie’s soul…

Jordynne Grace looked to have this match under control after slamming both Su Yung and Allie at the same time but things went sour rather fast after. Su Yung blew poison mist in the face of Grace, leaving Kiera Hogan alone in the ring. Allie put on the gross glove Yung carries around and locked in the mandible claw on Hogan for the win.

Winners: Dark Allie & Su Yung

After the match, Yung motioned for the undead bridesmaids to bring the coffin to the ring. When they did, however, Rosemary came out of it. Rosemary attacked the undead brides and then threw Su Yung into them. She then walked into the ring and looked to place her hand over Allie, only Allie backed out of the ring before she could.

3. Falls Count Anywhere
Eddie Edwards vs Moose

Impact has promised an edgier product when they debut on Pursuit next week. That could mean more hardcore wrestling like we saw tonight between Eddie Edwards and Moose. Edwards attacked his rival before the match and things went from there.

They brawled all throughout the Asylum. Eventually, Edwards got control by backdropping Moose on top of a guardrail. Then he pulled out Kenny, his Singapore cane. Evidently, Eddie wasn’t caning Moose good enough because Alisha Edwards ran to the ring to show him how. She hit Moose several times before giving the cane back to Edwards to finish the job. Edwards then gave Moose the DDT for the win.

Winner: Eddie Edwards

4. Willie Mack vs Sami Callihan

It took quite a bit, but Sami Callihan defeated Willie Mack here. Mack looked to have Callihan beat after giving him the Stunner but Callihan got his foot to barely touch the rope. Callihan then distracted the referee while Dave Crist prevented Mack from jumping off the top rope. Callihan gave him a Death Valley Driver off the top but only got a 1-count. Mack then kicked out of lariat at a 1 as well. Eventually, however, Callihan gave him the Cactus Driver and got the 3-count.

Winner: Sami Callihan

5. Monster’s Ball
Eli Drake vs Abyss

Eli Drake has won Monster’s Ball. He defeated Abyss tonight after bashing him over the head several times with a paddle. This was a match which involved Drake being choke-slammed into thumbtacks, suplex’ed through tables, and several other big spots. Drake at one point attempted to use zip-ties to bound Abyss’ hands together but wasn’t able to do it. So instead, he just started hammering Abyss with a chair several times in the back instead.

Winner: Eli Drake

6. Impact Tag Team Championships
LAX (c) vs The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix)

After a back and forth match, full of double team combinations, the Lucha Bros hit their spiked piledriver and looked like they were going to win. The pin was broken up at the last second, however. Then LAX hit Street Sweeper on Pentagon but Fenix broke up the pin at the last moment.

LAX then hit a crazy string of double team moves on Fenix and got the pin.

Winners and Still Champions: LAX

After the match, Konnan hit the ring. He cut a promo saying he was wrong and that both teams can still be allies after going to war. Konnan then praised the match and the four men celebrated in the ring.

7. Knockouts Championship
Tessa Blanchard (c) vs Taya Valkyrie

Taya Valkyrie is the new Impact Knockouts champion. She defeated Tessa Blanchard here in the 3rd bout of her trilogy with Tessa Blanchard. The match was not without a tremendous amount of controversy, however.

After several near-falls, Tessa Blanchard and Gail Kim became significantly annoyed with one another. Kim then gave Blanchard the Eat Defeat which allowed Taya to hit the Road to Valhalla for the victory.

Winner and new Knockouts Champion: Taya Valkyrie

8. Impact World Championship
Johnny Impact (c) vs Brian Cage

Johnny Impact is still the Impact World champion but the match was not without controversy. Cage had seemingly hit Johnny with everything in his offensive arsenal but Johnny kicked out after each move.

Members of the cast of Survivor were at ringside and ended up getting into a shoving contest with Cage. This led to the referee leaving the ring to deal with them. Cage then hit Drill Claw but there was no referee for the count. When the referee finally did come to, Johnny was able to kick out before 3.

Things didn’t seem to go quite as planned at the finish of the match as both Cage and Impact spilled from the top rope. After they fell, Impact pinned Cage to retain his title.

Winner and Still Champion: Johnny Impact

After the match, Killer Kross attacked Johnny on the entrance ramp. He then power-bombed Taya into the stands.

Tessa Blanchard Awarded Female Wrestler of the Year; Shayna Baszler Tweets “UFC Is Fake” Photo

Tessa Blanchard Awarded Female Wrestler of the Year

Tessa Blanchard has been announced the winner of the 2018 Apter Chat Female Wrestler Of The Year award. She received the plaque on a recent episode of Impact Wrestling, where she said that she was honored to gain the award.

“Thank you guys so much. This is such an honor. You’ve known me since the beginning, Bill. Thank you so much,” Blanchard said. “Guys thank you so much, but I deserve this. I am the 2018 Women’s Wrestler of the Year, not only for The Apter Chat, but for all of wrestling.”

Shayna Baszler Tweets “UFC Is Fake” Photo

Former MMA fighter and NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler took to Twitter recently to tweet out a picture of a fan holding a sign in a WWE event which reads “UFC IS FAKE.” Baszler also added the #UFC232 caption to the picture, referring to the recent UFC 232 event that just took place last night.
Shayna has tweeted similar statements in the past whenever a UFC event is taking place.

10 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 12/13

After this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling, there are just 3 shows left before Homecoming on January 6th. Here are 10 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 12/13:

Gail Kim To Referee Tessa vs Taya III

Gail Kim was announced as the special referee for the Knockouts Championship match between champion, Tessa Blanchard, and challenger, Taya Valkyrie at Homecoming. This coming on the heels of the champion getting purposely disqualified in their Bound For Glory rematch at the New York tapings and then subsequently strangling a referee two weeks ago.

With Kim serving as referee and Taya debuting a new submission hold recently, it’s looking as though she could walk away from Homecoming the new champion.

Killer Kross Wants To Bring The Devious Johnny Impact To The Surface

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUrTpa6m-dg

Killer Kross is fast becoming my favorite promo on Impact. He has continuously offered to watch Johnny Impact’s back ever since losing to him at Final Hour last month. The Impact champion wants nothing to do with him, however. This week he threatened Kross to stay out of his business but it’s just that kind of attitude Kross is trying to bring out of Johnny.

Johnny Impact will defend his title against Brian Cage at Homecoming and Kross believes the champ will need his help to retain. What role will Kross play at Homecoming?

Dark Allie Is Coming For Kiera Hogan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1ym0rPTYYw

Kiera Hogan was wrong, there is no good left in Allie. This week, Allie and Su Yung cut a backstage promo which would give small children nightmares. Allie said something along the lines of “the end of the beginning is the beginning of the end” in multiple ways before making it clear she is targetting her former friend, Kiera Hogan.

Eli Drake Visited Raven In Shady Acres

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFnNOvbAgUw

Last week, Raven helped Eddie Edwards escape from a mental institution. Evidently, Eli Drake watched last weeks episode and decided to pay Raven a visit this week.

While Drake would give Raven his due as a trendsetter and legendary hardcore wrestler, he also said he wants to rid pro wrestling of the wrestlers who were inspired by people like Raven.

Drake’s quest to end hardcore wrestling will continue at Homecoming when he faces Abyss in a Monster’s Ball match. He told Raven to watch.

Eddie Edwards Returned To Attack Moose

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Lye18AUUi8

  • Moose vs Brian Cage – No Contest

After escaping Shady Acres last week, Edwards attacked Moose in the night’s main event this week. He didn’t even bother to take off his hospital gown. Edwards has been spiraling downward mentally all year, ever since his rivalry with Sami Callihan. He’ll look to get revenge on his former friend Moose at Homecoming. Their match has now been made a “Falls Count Anywhere” match.

Konnan Won’t Be In LAX’s Corner At Homecoming

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlrWqKV0aFw

Konnan never wanted LAX to defend their tag belts against the Lucha Bros. Santana and Ortiz went against his wishes and challenged them anyway, much to Konnan’s disliking. This week, Konnan informed the team that he will not be in their corner at Homecoming.

Fenix also defeated Santana in single’s action this week.

Rich Swann Does Not Want To Go To War With Sami Callihan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K68RL5GgHGs

  • Rich Swann defeated Dave Crist

Swann defeated Dave Crist this week to qualify for Ultimate X at Homecoming. With all four spots in the match now confirmed, Swann could be considered the favorite to walk away from Nashville as the new champion.

After the match, the Crist brothers attacked Swann. Willie Mack came out to help but both Swann and Callihan stopped their allies from attacking the other side. Swann and Callihan have a long history on the independent scene, especially with Combat Zone Wrestling. Swan again told Mac this week in the back that he does not want two “go there” with the devious Sami Callihan.

Jordynne Grace Is Still Very, Very, Strong

  • Jordynne Grace defeated Ruby Raze

Katarina thought she could bring in a ringer to face Jordynne Grace this week. After all, she had success sticking Murder Clown against her enemies in Mexico. This week didn’t go as well, however.

Jordynne Grace improves her Impact record to 3-0 as she defeated Raze this week, letting everyone in the Impact Knockouts division know she is moving her way up the rankings as quickly as possible.

Trey Miguel Qualifies For Ultimate X

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0E05RnYiJBU

  • Trey Miguel defeated Trevor Lee

We may have seen Trevor Lee’s last match in Impact this week. He was defeated by Trey from the Rascalz in an Ultimate X qualifier. The win gives the Rascalz their first shot to bring home gold at Homecoming. Trey likely still wants to impress Scarlett Bordeaux, who showed up in the trio’s “That 70s Show” style smoking session.

Scarlett Bordeaux Has The Desi Hit Squad Fighting Over Her

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHqUH9ZOdpU

The Desi Hit Squad is going to fight over Scarlett Bordeaux next week. The Smokeshow visited the team in the back this week and said she loves it when men fight over her. Thus, the Desi Hit Squad will do just that next week.

Quick Results:

  • Rich Swann defeated Dave Crist
  • Fenix defeated Santana
  • Jordynne Grace defeated Ruby Raze
  • Moose vs Brian Cage – No Contest

Confirmed Matches for Homecoming (Non-Spoiler):

  • Impact World Championship
Johnny Impact (c) vs Brian Cage
  • Knockouts Championship
Tessa Blanchard (c) vs Taya Valkyrie (Gail Kim as Special Referee)
  • X-Division Championship
    Ultimate X Match
Jake Crist vs Ethan Page vs Rich Swann vs Trey Miguel
  • Impact Tag Team Championships
LAX (c) vs Pentagon and Fenix
  • Monsters Ball
    Eli Drake vs Abyss
  • Falls Count Anywhere
    Eddie Edwards vs Moose

10 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 12/6

After last night’s episode of Impact, we are now down to just 4 more shows until Homecoming in Nashville on January 6th.

Here are 10 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 12/6:

Taya Valkyrie Makes Tessa Blanchard Tap Out

  • Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie defeated Moose & Tessa Blanchard

Earlier at the Las Vegas tapings, Taya Valkyrie demonstrated a new submission hold. This week on Impact, she was able to make the Knockouts Champion tap to it during the main event. If that happens at Homecoming, Taya will be the new champ.

After the match, Moose and Blanchard attacked the victors but various run-ins would prevent much damage from taking place.

Killer Kross Saves Taya/Brian Cage Saves Johnny Impact

Strange and strained alliances were on display in Impact’s closing moments this week. Killer Kross has been offering to watch Johnny Impact’s back in recent weeks. He made the save for Taya this week, preventing Tessa Blanchard from hitting Taya with a chair. Moose seemed to be confused by Kross’ actions, as the two have been aligned for much of the year. Before Moose and Kross could do anything further, however, Brian Cage hit the ring and took them both out.

Johnny Impact and Brian Cage stared each other down to end the show.

Raven (!!!) Helps Eddie Edwards Escape From Mental Institution

Another ECW veteran gave advice to Eddie Edwards this week. While Tommy Dreamer warned Edwards not to shorten his career trying to get revenge on Sami Callihan, Raven told Edwards he hasn’t gone far enough in his feud with Moose. Then Raven stole a key card from an orderly and passed it to Edwards, allowing him to escape Shady Acres Insane Asylum.

A former NWA World Heavyweight Champion while with TNA Wrestling, Raven is often credited with being one of the most unique minds in the history of wrestling. He said he voluntarily checks himself into Shady Acres ever so often.

Jake Crist Qualifies For Ultimate X

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c37SZ3r4Vc0

  • Jake Crist defeated Willie Mack – Ultimate X Qualifier

Jake Crist is going to Homecoming after defeating Willie Mack in the opener this week. Mack looked as though he had the match going his way when Sami Callihan got involved. Crist picked up the upset win after Mack was pulled off the top rope by Callihan and Crist gave him a cutter and got the pin.

Later, Mack was seen speaking to Rich Swann about wanting to get revenge on OVE. Swann, who has been in CZW wars with Callihan, warned Mack that they might not want to go there with OVE.

Ethan Page Qualifies For Ultimate X

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PamGgKjid9Q

  • Ethan Page defeated Matt Sydal – Ultimate X Qualifier

The second of two upsets in Ultimate X Qualifying matches came when Ethan Page defeated his mentor, Matt Sydal. The two exchanged multiple pinning combinations in a row when Page was able to keep Sydal’s shoulders down for the 3.

Sydal was a good sport about the loss, even raising Page’s hand after.

Dark Allie Is Really Dark

  • Allie defeated Heather Monroe

Last week, Kiera Hogan made an emotional plea for the good Allie to return. Hogan didn’t get what she wanted this week, however. Allie defeated Heather Monroe while Su Yung watched ominously on the outside.

After the match, Allie continued the attack on Monroe using Su Yung’s mandible claw type move. This brought out Hogan who tried to talk some sense into Allie. Although it looked as though Allie had come back to her senses, she suddenly struck Hogan. Yung then joined the melee and they continued the beatdown on Hogan to end the segment.

Monster’s Ball Match Booked For Homecoming

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG6e5PdmIiM

Eli Drake claimed this week that he’s dropped his lawsuit against Impact Wrestling. Despite this, he claims he is being punished by the promotion as he has now been booked in a Monsters Ball match against Abyss at Homecoming.

Konnan Says It Can Never Be The Same Between Lucha Bros and LAX

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JGEd5s53ac

Konnan didn’t want LAX to defend the belts against Pentagon and Fenix at Homecoming but LAX put out the challenge anyway. The two teams were seen arguing in the back this week, leading Konnan to say this is what he had been worried about.

Scarlett Bordeaux Joins The Rascalz Session

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns2TlITM3eA

Scarlett Bordeaux joined the Rascalz smoking session this week. The trio seemed a little confused as to how she got there. Regardless, Bordeaux let them know she was impressed with their match last week and then reminded everyone about her ongoing global talent search.

Zachary Wentz seemed concerned that Bordeaux would attract the presence of bears.

The Desi Hit Squad Back In The Win Column

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgvnlFbjfHQ

  • The Desi Hit Squad defeated Damien Drake and Manny Lemons

The Desi Hit Squad were back in action this week. They defeated a pair of local competitors with much ease. Callis and Mathews talked about the depth of the tag team-team division which has been developing as of late. With the addition of the Rascalz, a new Desi Hit Squad team, the Lucha Bros and LAX, the tag division is pretty stacked at the moment.

Quick Results:

  • Ultimate X Qualifier
    Jake Crist defeated Willie Mack
  • Allie defeated Heather Monroe
  • The Desi Hit Squad defeated Damien Drake and Manny Lemons
  • Ultimate X Qualifier
    Ethan Page defeated Matt Sydal
  • Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie defeated Moose & Tessa Blanchard

    Rich Swann vs Dave Crist
  2. Ultimate X Qualifier
    Trevor Lee vs Trey Miguel

  4. Santana vs Fenix

Confirmed Matches for Homecoming (Non-Spoiler):

Johnny Impact (c) vs Brian Cage
  • Knockouts Championship
Tessa Blanchard (c) vs Taya Valkyrie
  • X-Division Championship
    Ultimate X Match
Jake Crist vs Ethan Page vs TBD vs TBD
  • Impact Tag Team Championships
LAX (c) vs Pentagon and Fenix
  • Monsters Ball
    Eli Drake vs Abyss

Impact Wrestling 12/6 Preview

There are 5 episodes of Impact Wrestling left before Homecoming on January 6th in Nashville. Tonight, Impact Wrestling will further the build to their next PPV.

Impact Wrestling 12/6 Preview

Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie vs Moose & Tessa Blanchard

Johnny Impact will face Brian Cage at Homecoming but tonight he’ll team with his newlywed wife, Taya Valkyrie. The Knockouts Champion will team with Moose, who is hoping Eddie Edwards is not released from Shady Acres Mental Institution in time to interfere in this match.

Last week on Impact, Blanchard attempted to strangle a referee until Gail Kim ran out and pulled her off. It’s possible we hear more about Gail Kim’s potential involvement with Blanchard tonight.

Killer Kross might be watching this match closely as well. He again offered to watch Johnny’s back last week.

Dark Allie Returns

Allie returned from the undead realm at Bound For Glory without her soul. Now a dark passenger is along with Allie wherever she goes. Kiera Hogan believes there is still good inside of her, however. Hogan made an emotional plea last week for the good Allie to come back.

Tonight, Dark Allie will return to Impact Wrestling. Wherever she goes, Su Yung is sure to follow as well.

Ultimate X Qualifier: Willie Mack vs Jake Crist

Willie Mack will go one-on-one with OVE’s Jake Crist tonight. The winner will be granted one of four spots in the Ultimate X match at Homecoming. Mack hasn’t been in Impact Wrestling for long but he’s already in a spot to potentially win a major title.

Ultimate X Qualifier: Matt Sydal vs Ethan Page

Third-eyes will collide tonight as Matt Sydal goes one-on-one with his protege, Ethan Page. Sydal is the former X-Division Champion before dropping the belt to Brian Cage at Slammiversary. He once said the X-Division title was his calling and it’s possible the belt is calling to him again. He’ll have to get by his own pupil to get that chance, however.

10 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 11/29

Impact Wrestling presented their 3rd episode from the Las Vegas tapings last night. Last week, however, the promotion only aired one new match with the rest having been flashbacks to previous Thanksgiving specials.

This week, the promotion was back to building towards Homecoming on January 6th, 2019 in Nashville.

Here are 10 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 11/29:

LAX (c) vs Pentagon & Fenix Booked For Homecoming

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekDpgFFKdNk

  • Pentagon & Fenix defeated Willie Mack & Rich Swann

Two weeks ago on Impact, LAX told Konnan they want to defend their belts against Pentagon and Fenix. Konnan said he didn’t like that match just yet but LAX challenged the Lucha Bros this week anyway.

Pentagon and Fenix had just defeated Willie Mack and Rich Swann to open the show when LAX came out and challenged them. The title match was later made official for Homecoming.

Later in the show, Konnan told LAX that once the two teams went head-to-head there would be no turning back, and no being friends after and that’s why he didn’t want the match to happen yet.

Killer Kross Is Still Trying To Protect Johnny Impact

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyQwX1Wo07Y

Killer Kross wants to help Johnny Impact. Kross again offered to help Johnny “do whatever it takes” to beat Brian Cage at Homecoming this week. It sounds as though Kross is trying to bring out a different side of Johnny, one he believes is more capable of beating someone like Brian Cage.

One has to wonder if Kross is going to take it upon himself to influence what happens between Cage and Johnny at Homecoming.

Eli Drake Goes Hardcore On Tommy Dreamer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IitXAhkUMv4

  • Eli Drake defeated Tommy Dreamer – No DQ MATCH

Eli Drake wants to rid Impact Wrestling of hardcore matches and wrestlers like Tommy Dreamer. Ironically, Dreamer actually beat Drake via count-out in the night’s main event, only for the match to be re-started as a No DQ match by Impact management. Once playing under Tommy’s rules, Drake managed to get the victory.

Dreamer kicked out from the Gravy Train, the first person in Impact to do so. This left Drake needing to take things a step farther to get the win in last night’s main event. He wrapped a steel chair around Dreamer’s head and bashed it with a boat ore before pinning him for the win.

Taya Valkyrie Adds A Submission To Her Arsenal

  • Taya Valkyrie defeated Ray Lyn

At Bound For Glory, Tessa Blanchard needed to break out a new move to defeat Taya Valkyrie. After Taya kicked out from the Buzzsaw DDT, Blanchard broke out “Magnum”, a top rope codebreaker named after her step-father, Magnum TA.

This week Taya broke out a new submission move to get the win over Ray Lyn. It wasn’t the only new wrinkle added to the Knockouts title match at Homecoming, however, as Tessa Blanchard’s conflict with Impact referees continues.

Tessa Blanchard Will Strangle Referees/Gail Kim Does Not Condone

Taya vs Tessa II at Final Hour ended when Blanchard punched the referee to get purposely disqualified. The referee then visited Blanchard in the back this week and explained that in the ring, he stands for law and order. When Blanchard hit the ring after Taya’s match this week, she ended up punching the referee yet again. She would continue to strangle him until his face was flush red.

Impact Hall-of-Famer, Gail Kim, had to come out and pry Blanchard off of the referee. Management may have to take action against the Knockouts Champion. Will Gail Kim play a further role in the Tessa v Taya rivalry?

Eddie Edwards Is Staying At Shady Acres

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ6513ph24k&t=7s

Eddie Edwards is staying at a mental institution which shares the same name as the one from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Somehow, his doctors seemed to think it was a good idea to allow Alisha Edwards to berate him for several moments before then allowing Moose to read to him from his own children’s book.

Moose mentioned Edwards’ book didn’t mention Moose power-bombing him on the ramp or any of the other beatings he’s given him. Edwards will likely be released from Shady Acres before Homecoming, and we’ll possibly see him and Moose renew their rivalry then.

Kiera Hogan Pleas For The Old Allie To Come Back

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KiMJO8V6MY

A new Allie has returned from the undead realm, one now aligned with James Mitchell and Su Yung. This week Kiera Hogan made a plea for the good Allie to return. Hogan believes the darkness hasn’t fully consumed Allie. She said Allie could have really hurt her two weeks ago but didn’t. To Hogan, that makes her believe good Allie is still alive deep within this new dark Allie.

Jordynne Grace Is Very Strong (Still)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZVoE-WU_o8

  • Jordynne Grace defeated Katarina

Jordynne Grace has started her Impact Wrestling career by defeating Katarina twice in a row. Katarina seemed to get in a bit more offense then she did last time out but the end result was the same: Grace squeezing her opponent in a bear-hug so tight the tap-out comes almost instantly.

After Homecoming, it’s likely a new challenger for the Knockouts title will need to be declared (assuming there are no further immediate Tessa vs Taya matches). Grace is someone who could rise to the top of the division quickly as we head into 2019.

The Rascalz Have Arrived

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoWe7pscr7o

  • Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz defeated Mike Sydal & Chris Bey

Trey Miguel, Dezmond Xavier, and Zachary Wentz have arrived in Impact Wrestling. They’d each participated in tapings before but now it’s clear the trio are about to make a splash in the promotion. All three have impressed many on the independent scene and look primed to do the same thing in Impact Wrestling.

Gold Rush – November 30th

    Ultimate X Match
TBD vs TBD vs TBD vs TBD
  • Impact Tag Team Championships
LAX (c) vs Pentagon and Fenix

Impact Wrestling 11/22 Preview

Impact Wrestling will air another show from Las Vegas tonight. Tonight’s Thanksgiving-themed show will feature the return of the famed Turkey suit.

Impact Wrestling 11/22 Preview

Not much is advertised for tonight’s episode of Impact. This likely means much of what occurs on the show will be decided on the show. Two segments have officially be confirmed by the promotion for tonight, however.

The Fate of the X-Division Is Decided

Last week on a notable episode of Impact Wrestling, Brian Cage declared he is cashing in “Option C”. This means he is vacating the X-Division Championship in order to receive a shot at the Impact World Championship at Homecoming on January 6th.

Tonight, Impact officials have said they will reveal the fate of the X-Division and likely how they will determine a new champion for the division. Rich Swann, Petey Williams, and former champion Matt Sydal will all likely be in the mix as the company looks to crown a new champion, likely at Homecoming.

Gravy Train Turkey Riot

The only other announced segment for tonight is Eli Drake’s annual “Gravy Train Turkey Riot”. A 10-person tag-team match will take place on tonight’s show. The wrestler who is pinned will have to wear the infamous turkey suit.

Other Possible Segments

  • Last week, Johnny Impact turned down an offer from Killer Kross to watch his back. It’s possible we hear from either Johnny or Kross tonight on the matter.
  • Tessa Blanchard and Taya Valkyrie will meet for a 3rd time at Homecoming. We could hear from champion and/or challenger tonight as well.

9 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 11/15

Impact Wrestling presented their first show from the Las Vegas tapings last night. Right out of the bat it looks as though we’ve got our two top matches for the Homecoming PPV in January.

Here are the top 9 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 11/15

Brian Cage is Cashing In Option C, Will Challenge For World Title At Homecoming

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHYndfb9qGM

  • Brian Cage (c) defeated Sami Callihan

In the main event last night, X-Division Champion, Brian Cage, pinned challenger Sami Callihan after delivering Weapon-X. In shocking fashion, Cage would then announce after the match that he is cashing in “Option C”; he’s turning in the X-division title for a shot at the world championship. He wants his shot at the Homecoming pay-per-view in Nashville on January 6. At the moment, this would mean he would face Johnny Impact, should Johnny still be champion come that time.

Dark Allie Debuts

  • Su Yung defeated Heather Monroe

Last week, Allie accepted James Mitchell’s offer to help her “heal”. Allie had left her soul in the undead realm when she went to rescue Keira Hogan at Bound For Glory. This week, Keira Hogan came out to stop Su Yung from a post-match beat down on her opponent when “Dark Allie” arrived and confronted Hogan.

A new Darker Allie has emerged. Gone is the bouncy, bubbly, bunny Impact Wrestling fans once Knew. Allie left the ring area along with Su Yung as Keira Hogan lay beaten on the mat.

Tessa Blanchard vs Taya Valkyrie III Will Take Place At Homecoming

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW4ZWFt6MVc

  • Tessa Blanchard defeated Ray Lyn

Blanchard may have defeated Valkyrie at Bound For Glory but it was not without controversy. Had the referee not been out of position when Valkyrie delivered the Road To Valhalla, things could have worked out differently that night.

Then in a rematch at Final Hour, Blanchard saved her title by getting herself disqualified. This week Taya revealed she spoke to Impact management and they made the third installment of this rivalry official for Homecoming.

Killer Kross Offered To Protect Johnny Impact

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nOoCoROsdg

  • Johnny Impact defeated Matt Sydal

One week after Johnny Impact successfully defended his Impact World Championship against Killer Kross, the two would be face to face in the ring again. Johnny defeated Matt Sydal in a non-title match this week and Kross confronted him after the match.

Kross offered his services to Johnny, saying if he needed his back watch, he’d be there. Johnny turned down his request, however, and said he didn’t trust the offer.

Eddie Edwards Has Priors, Dragged Away By Orderlies

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tHe374zvzU

Moose baited Eddie Edwards this week. He said if Edwards tried to attack him again, he’d simply turn him into the authorities. Moose noted that Eddie has “priors” so a third strike could send him to prison for 20 years.

Edwards couldn’t resist going after his rival, however, even as Alisha Edwards screamed for him not to. 3 men in orderlies dragged Edwards away after injecting something into his neck.

Tommy Dreamer Doesn’t Like Eli Drake’s Skinny Jeans

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzWLXxRsRjs

In what was the second promo directed at skinny-jean millennials this week, Tommy Dreamer cut a promo on Eli Drake this week. Drake was cutting a promo saying he was going to get rid of hardcore wrestling when Dreamer appeared.

It looked as though Dreamer and Drake were going to have an impromptu match but ultimately Drake decided to roll of the ring and go to the back instead.

Konnan Turns Down LAX Vs Lucha Bros Match

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKaxjkxlccM

  • LAX defeated Fallah Bah & KM

LAX told Konnan this week that they want to defend their tag-team titles against the Lucha Bros, Pentagon and Fenix. Konnan, however, said it wasn’t the right time for that match and abruptly left the conversation. This is the second week in a row Santana and Ortiz has had an awkward discussion in the back regarding Konnan’s involvement with both teams.

The Rascalz Are On Their Way

In a scene reminiscent from that 70s show, members of the Rascalz were re-introduced to Impact Wrestling fans. Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel, and Dezmond Xavier have impressed independent wrestling fans everywhere they have gone and also put in strong performances at the Impact tapings in Toronto this summer. They announced they have a match in two weeks.

Scarlett Bordeaux Turns Her Attention To The Impact Referees

Scarlett Bordeaux focussed her attention on the Impact Wrestling referees this week. Don Callis also noted that Bordeaux has brought in outside help to vet some of the submissions she receives for her open global talent search.

Quick Results:

  1. Tessa Blanchard defeated Ray Lyn
  2. LAX defeated Fallah Bah & KM
  3. Johnny Impact defeated Matt Sydal
  4. Su Yung defeated Heather Monroe
  5. X-Division Championship
Brian Cage (c) defeated Sami Callihan

The OGZ Vs Lucha Brothers Rivalry Continues To Build

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=302kfjH5QXU

  • Pentagon Jr defeated Homicide

King has found another way to get at Konnan since the New York bosses won’t let him go after LAX. Now King’s OGZ has their sights on Konnan’s allies, Pentagon Jr. and Fenix. While Pentagon picked up the win this week over Homicide with a schoolboy, the OGZ had the numbers advantage in the post-match beatdown.

Tessa Blanchard DQ’ed, Taya Valkyrie Denied Championship Again

  • Knockouts Championship
Taya Valkyrie defeated Tessa Blanchard (c) via DQ

In a rematch from Bound For Glory, Taya looked as though she had the upper-hand against Blanchard. She had been able to avoid Blanchard’s “Magnum” move which beat her at the PPV but the champ found another way out of the situation. Blanchard straight up punched the referee in the face, causing a DQ and saving her title. Did she sense she wouldn’t be able to defeat Taya and did what she had to do to save her title?

Sami Callihan Beat Up An Imposter Brian Cage In Ohio

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2vFb_lV30A

Sami Callihan announced that he would face Brian Cage at a show in Ohio but all was not quite what it seemed. When Brian Cage entered the ring area it was clear Callihan had simply hired an imposter to dress and act like Cage.

Cage cut a promo later in the night that he’ll be in Ohio next week and he’s bringing the X-Division title.

There’s Something Wrong With Allie

Allie told Kiera Hogan she left her soul in the undead realm at Bound For Glory. She feels something dark has a hold of her. Allie also said she is unable to get the thought of what happened to Rosemary out of her head.

Hogan then told Allie they will finish this by ending Su Yung. Evidently, Impact opted not to put highlights of this on YouTube.

Rich Swann Defeated His Friend, Willie Mack

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZTYjyo3UV0

  • Rich Swann defeated Willie Mack

As this was Willie Mack’s single’s debut in the promotion, he chose Rich Swann as his opponent. He said he wants to show everyone what the two of them can do in a ring together. As the night’s opener was drawing to a close, Swann was able to get his foot on the rope after Mack hit a stunner. A few moves later, Swann hit the Phoenix Splash and got the 3-count.

LAX Defeated Matt Sydal & Ethan Page

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bhhp5yXaGbA

  • LAX w/Konnan defeated Matt Sydal & Ethan Page

This non-title match was made after a backstage confrontation last week. LAX picked up the victory over Sydal and his new teammate. With the OGZ out of the tag-team title picture, things are wide open in the division for new challengers to emerge.

Impact Wrestling Preview 11/1

Impact Wrestling will present their third show since Bound For Glory tonight. The episode was filmed inside New York’s Melrose Ballroom. The main event will be a rematch from Bound For Glory when Tessa Blanchard defends her Knockouts Championship against Taya Valkyrie.

Impact is also just one-week away from their next branded episode, Final Hour. Johnny Impact will defend the title against Killer Kross on that show.

Impact Wrestling Preview 11/1

Knockouts Championship
Tessa Blanchard (c) vs Taya Valkyrie

Last week, Blanchard confronted Taya in the back. Two weeks ago, Taya had said she doesn’t respect Blanchard anymore after she used underhanded tactics to secure the victory at the PPV. Tonight, Blanchard wants to show she doesn’t need any help from the referees to defeat Taya.

Impact Wrestling Tag Team Championships
LAX (c) vs Ethan Page and Matt Sydal

Despite losing at Bound For Glory, Ethan Page and Matt Sydal will get a title match against LAX tonight. The third-eye seeing tandem confronted Konnan and LAX in the back last week which led to them receiving a title match this week.

As for LAX, they might believe they don’t have to worry about King and the OGz anymore but King seems to have found a way to get to Konnan without going through them.

Pengaton Jr. vs Homicide

Kings’ OGZ have figured out they can get to Konnan without skirting the rules set out by the crime bosses in New York. To do so, they just have to get to Pentagon Jr and Fenix, the Lucha brothers. Tonight, former Ring Of Honor World Champion Homicide takes on former Impact (and LU) World Champion Pentagon Jr.

Willie Mack vs Rich Swann

Last week on Impact Wrestling, Rich Swann and Willie Mack were shown in the backstage area. They appeared to be celebrating their win at Bound for Flory when Mack said he wanted to face Swann in his single’s debut next week. His reasoning was that he wants to show everyone what the two of them can do. Meanwhile, the team they beat at Bound for Glory will take on the tag team champions tonight.

10 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 10/25

Impact Wrestling presented their second show from the Melrose Ballroom tapings held in the days following Bound For Glory. Johnny Impact vs Fenix for the world title was the night’s main event.

Here are 10 Takeaways from Impact Wrestling 10/25:

Killer Kross Attacked Johnny Impact In The Back

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCuwnJQPjyY

Killer Kross is a frightening individual. The final scene of Impact this week was Killer Kross standing over an unconscious Impact World Champion, Johnny Impact.

Kross then said the following to the knocked out champion, “I don’t like that word (crazy), I find it offensive because when someone calls you crazy they’re insinuating that you’re not very intelligent. In this particular circumstance, I’d call you crazy because you really believe that you can change things and you can’t because I am the change and all paths moving forward lead to damnation.” Creepy guy.

A title match was then made official between the two for the November 8th branded-edition of Impact named “Final Hour.”

Knockouts Championship Rematch Next Week

Tessa Blanchard cut a promo on Taya Valkyrie in the back. The Knockouts Champion was not happy with what Taya said last week about her using underhanded tactics in their match at Bound For Glory. Blanchard said she doesn’t need shortcuts to beat Taya and said she’d put the title on the line again next week.

The OGZ Get To Konnan Through Fenix

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QD_EuaJlKlo

Earlier in the night, King told Homicide and Hernandez he had an idea about how they can get to Konnan even though the bosses say they can’t touch him or LAX. Then after Johnny Impact and Fenix had a stellar main event match, the OGZ hit the ring and continued the attack on Fenix until Pentagon came in with a chair to make the save. It looks like King and the OGZ will look to get at Konnan by attacking his longtime allies, Pentagon and Fenix.

Allie Backs Away From Su Yung

Last week, Allie continued to attack Alisha Edwards after defeating her. This week when she attempted to prevent Su Yung from giving Kiera Hogan a Panic Switch off the entrance ramp she stopped in her tracks at only a creepy stare from Yung. Allie uncharacteristically backed away and left Hogan alone.

Yung would pin Hogan after giving her a Panic Switch moments later.

Sami Callihan’s Bat Is Ineffective Against Brian Cage

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FRXIUJUOKA

Sami Callihan defeated Trevor Lee in single’s action this week. After the match, however, Brian Cage hit the ring to attack the guy who pinned him at Bound For Glory. Callihan was ready with a bat but even that wasn’t effective against the X-Division Champion. Cage stood in the ring as Callihan and OVE backed off to close the segment.

Eddie Edwards Has Come Back For Moose

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lUbSVEcDLU

Killer Kross and Moose defeated KM and Fallah Bah this week but it’s not clear if Moose knows that or not. Eddie Edwards returned during this match and dragged Moose away. Kross then choked out Fallah Bah to end the match.

Moose and Edwards then continued to brawl throughout the backstage area and eventually onto the roof. Moose eventually locked Edwards on the roof and got away. Alisha Edwards would later berate Edwards for being out of his mind.

LAX Defend Against Matt Sydal & Ethan Page Next Week

Sydal and Page confronted LAX in the back and said they were destined for greatness. Konnan said they were consuming too much peyote and/or mushrooms. Despite this, a match between the two teams for the tag-team titles was made official for next week.

There Is A New Member Of The Desi Hit Squad

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIe0h6flNn4

The Great Gama Singh took on Rohit Raju this week. While the 63-year-old may not be as athletic as he once was he still knew to have a devious plan to get the victory. Someone who appears to be a new recruit into the Desi Hit Squad attacked Raju from behind and gave him a super gut-buster. Gama Singh then lifted Raju up and the three of them left the ring together.

Scarlett Bordeaux’s Talent Search Open To Everyone

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMJfEZ9Gbnk

Scarlett Bordeaux continues to scout for talent both from the Impact roster and also from fans submitting their videos. She was watching a few of such videos in the bath this week.

Eli Drake’s Lawsuit Against Impact Continues

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwG8a1jZS9Y

Eli Drake is suing Impact Wrestling. This was revealed last week but this week Drake still decided up to do commentary for LAX’s victory over the Heavenly Bodies. Josh Mathews was critical of Drake’s lawsuit but Drake insisted he’s just one of a few to sue the company.

Quick Results:

  • Sami Callihan defeated Trevor Lee
  • LAX defeated the Heavenly Bodies
  • The Great Gama Singh vs Rohit Raju – no contest after interference
  • Killer Kross and Moose defeated KM and Fallah Bah
  • Su Yung defeated Kiera Hogan
  • Impact World Championship
    Johnny Impact (c) defeated Fenix

Next Week:

  • Willie Mack vs Rich Swann
  • Impact Tag Team Championships
LAX (c) vs Matt Sydal and Ethan Page
  • Knockouts Championship
Tessa Blanchard (c) vs Taya Valkyrie

Impact Wrestling 10/25 Preview

Impact Wrestling presents their second episode since Bound For Glory tonight. Already scheduled for tonight’s show will be Johnny Impact defending the Impact World Championship for the first time against Fenix.

Impact Wrestling 10/25 Preview

Impact World Championship
Johnny Impact (c) vs Fenix

Last week on Impact Wrestling, Johnny Impact said he would be a fighting champion. That brought out Fenix who said he wanted a title shot. Impact agreed and the match was made official for tonight.

Killer Kross & Moose vs KM & Fallah Bah

Austin Aries might be gone but Killer Kross and Moose aren’t slowing down their path of destruction. The team recently named “Money & Violence” will take on KM and Fallah Bah tonight. Remember it was Moose and Kross who assaulted KM and Fallah Bah back in Toronto at the tapings following Bound For Glory. They will be looking for a little revenge for that tonight.

Tessa Blanchard Replies To Taya Valkyrie

Last week on Impact Wrestling, Taya Valkyrie said she no longer respected Tessa. Valkyrie had just defeated Katarina when she made the comments in a post-match interview. She is upset that Tessa dragged the ring apron into the ring moments before Taya gave her the Road to Valhalla. The referee was momentarily out of position, which allowed Blanchard to get a shoulder up just before the 3-count. Blanchard then hit Taya with a Buzzsaw DDT, which Taya kicked out from, making her the first in Impact to do so. She then debuted a new move, however, a top-rope codebreaker she calls Magnum. After hitting Magnum on Taya, Blanchard got the pin and retained her title.

Tonight, Tessa Blanchard will respond to Taya’s comments from last week.

Su Yung vs Kiera Hogan

Su Yung locked Kiera Hogan in a coffin before Bound For Glory. Allie had to travel to the Undead realm to rescue her. When Su Yung locked Madison Rayne in a coffin, however, she just went to Ring of Honor. Regardless, Hogan will get a chance for revenge tonight but the real question might be how Allie reacts to all of this. Allie showed a new vicious side last week when she continued to attack Alisha Edwards even after defeating her single’s competition. We might find out more about Allie’s condition tonight.

The Great Gama Singh vs Rohit Raju

Arguably the biggest heel in the history of the Hart Family’s Stampede Wrestling promotion, the Great Gama Singh returns to in-ring action tonight. The 63-year-old will face his pupil, Rohit Raju tonight. Singh has said it will be Raju’s final test.

Raju defeated Gursindher Singh in a loser-leaves-the Desi Hit Squad match last week.

Tessa Blanchard Discusses the Austin Aries Controversy At Bound For Glory

Tessa Blanchard joined Dave Lagreca and Bully Ray on Busted Open Radio this week to discuss the fallout from Bound For Glory. The Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion gave an insider perspective on the controversy surrounding Austin Aries, which involved him “no selling” the finish to the show’s main event and flipping off the crowd on his way out of the arena. Here are some highlights of what Tessa said about:

Her thoughts on the Austin Aries controversy:

Blanchard is taking the position that she’s not sure what to think about the situation.

“I agree with a lot of what Brian [Cage] said earlier. I think it was just a lot of Austin being Austin. I honestly don’t really know what to think about it. Just watching it, I’m kind of at a loss for words, I guess? ‘Cause I don’t know what to think”

If she questioned what transpired:

Lending credence to our report that Impact performers were left in the dark about whether the Aries situation was a shoot or a work, Blanchard says there’s a lot of uncertainty going around and she doesn’t know quite what to think.

“To myself, yeah, of course. I’m sure everyone had a lot of questions. There’s a lot of uncertainty. The whole locker room was kind of not really sure what was going on, I guess. But yeah, I honestly I’m very indifferent ’cause I don’t know what to think.”

If she feels Austin Aries disrespected the locker room and the fans:

At the end of the day, Blanchard feels that Austin Aries’ actions were disrespectful and wonders how he would feel if he was on the receiving end of what he did.

“To an extent, yes. I’m not really sure what Austin was trying to accomplish. Brian said it before, I think if the roles were reversed and Austin was sitting in the locker room watching that happen, I’m sure he would feel disrespected, I’m sure he would not be so happy. He would have some things to say and some questions. So if the roles were reversed, I’m sure he would be in the same position as the whole locker room kind of felt, I think.”

Listen to Tessa Blanchard’s appearance on Busted Open Radio:

9 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 10/11

Impact Wrestling presented the Go Home Show before Bound For Glory last night. Below we have the top 9 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 10/11 from Mexico City, Mexico.

Impact Wrestling 10/11

The Ceasefire Is Over

In the final segment before Bound For Glory, King cut a promo on Konnan as both the OGZ and LAX stood watch. He said that Konnan leached off of the Mexican wrestlers he’s mentored over the years and then admitted to having put a hit out on him.

Konnan then said King’s actions were not the actions of a leader and that the bosses were watching. He then said the ceasefire was over and a brawl started between the two sides.

Austin Aries Pinned Johnny Impact

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DttTUk79hxA

  • Austin Aries, Moose, & Killer Kross defeated Johnny Impact, Eddie Edwards, & Fallah Bah

With just days before Bound For Glory, the Champion is going in on a high note, having just pinned his upcoming challenger. Aries pinned Johnny after a brainbuster. Tessa Blanchard Pins Keyra On Route To Bound For Glory And Taya Valkyrie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh-bigGMwK0

  • Tessa Blanchard defeated Keyra

Blanchard’s Knockouts Championship reign will face its biggest test yet on Sunday. She was able to get by Keyra this week, finishing off the 22-year-old luchadora with her patented Buzzsaw DDT.

Taya Valkyrie has spent most of her career in Mexico wrestling stars like Faby Apache, who Blanchard defeated earlier in Impact’s trip to Mexico. Blanchard’s been able to wrestle two luchadoras in Mexico who have a similar style to her BFG opponent.

The Undead Realm Is Bound For Glory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xgSZC1Yd68

This Sunday there will be a segment (of sorts) held in the “undead realm”. Allie will travel there with the help of James Mitchell in an attempt to save Kiera Hogan from Su Yung.

Father James Mitchell has re-appeared in Impact Wrestling. We last saw Mitchell as the manager of Abyss in his feud with Kongo Kong. This week he was approached by Allie as she requested safe passage to the underworld. Mitchell said Allie must sell her soul but that her soul won’t belong to him, it will belong to someone down low. He then started to say he would get heat with the office when she interrupted him. Allie and Mitchell made a deal to meet Sunday night and he would bring her into the undead realm. What exactly this means for Allie, Su Yung, and Kiera Hogan

Willie Mack Is Bound For Glory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PaKXHuU87Y

Rich Swann announced this week that he’s found a partner for Sunday. Matt Sydal will team against his newest protege, Ethan Page. Swann revealed Willie Mack will be his partner to take on Sydal and Page at Bound For Glory

Eli Drake’s Open Challenge Is Bound For Glory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1qgm0DMIQY

Last week, Eli Drake’s open challenge was answered by LA Parka. Drake seemed to be of the belief that he defeated LA Parka by DQ last week even though that’s not what happened. He then announced he was bringing his Open Challenge to New York City for Bound For Glory. The Open Challenge is only open to people from New York City, however.

Petey Williams Picks Up A Win In 4-Way Action

Gursinder Singh No Longer Part Of The Desi Hit Squad

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHjTXgCaRRQ

  • Rohit Raju defeated Gursinder Singh

Rohit Raju was victorious over Singh this week. The inter-Desi Hit Squad match was booked by the Great Gama Singh to determine who the weak link of the team is. Singh will now have to go back to India while it appears Gama will continue to work with Raju.

Joe Hendry and Grado On Losing Streaks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AaLrwziQO0

  • Maximo defeated Grado

Last week, Joe Hendry was defeated by Murder Clown. This week, Grado was defeated by Maximo. It hasn’t been a successful trip to Mexico for the best friends. Perhaps Scarlett Bordeaux’s advice to the pair wasn’t so great after all.

Quick Results:

  • Petey Williams defeated Trevor Lee vs Puma King vs Jack Evans
  • Maximo defeated Grado
  • Rohit Raju defeated Gursinder Singh
  • Austin Aries, Killer Kross, & Moose defeated Johnny Impact, Eddie Edwards & Fallah Bah

Impact Wrestling Preview 10/11: Bound For Glory Go-Home Show

Impact Wrestling presents the final episode before Bound For Glory this Sunday on PPV tonight. The episode will feature the final matches and segments taped from Impact’s trip to Mexico City, Mexico.

Impact Wrestling 10/11 Preview

Eddie Edwards, Johnny Impact, and Fallah Bah vs Moose, Austin Aries, and Killer Kross

6-Man tag-team action this week features Impact’s top heel stable going up against the men they’ve been feuding with. Aries, Kross, and Moose have attempted to injure all 3 of their opponents tonight over television tapings in Canada and Mexico.

Coming up on Sunday Moose goes one-on-one with Edwards and Johny goes one-on-one with Aries. Tonight, however,

LAX and OGZ Summit

The crime family which controls this storyline ordered a ceasefire between the two factions after King ran over a little kid with his car on the streets of Toronto. That ceasefire is up in 3 days at Bound For Glory.

Konnan has been sure that neither Santana or Ortiz attack the OGZ and break the ceasefire but how much longer can they hold out? King has burned Konnan’s mask and continuously disrespected LAX.

Tessa Blanchard vs Keyra

Tessa Blanchard will have the toughest test to her Knockouts Championship on Sunday when she faces Taya Valkyrie. Before she gets to Bound For Glory, however, she’ll have to face the luchadora, Keyra.

The 22-year-old Keyra is tearing it up in Mexico at the moment. Will she have enough to give Blanchard a run for her money is another question, however.

Petey Williams vs Trevor Lee vs Jack Evans vs Puma King

All four of these wrestlers were shown in the back last week attempting to impress Scarlett Bordeaux. The Smokeshow is still holding her Global Talent Search for a full-time client and it is likely all four of the men involved in this match want to obtain her services.

Rohit Raju vs Gursindher Singh

Although not advertised by Impact Wrestling, it was mentioned that last week that these two teammates Will face each other in singles action to determine who the weak link is. The Desi Hit Squad has not been picking up many wins lately and the Great Gama Singh is not pleased.

Who Will Rich Swann Choose As His Partner?

Rich Swann will face Ethan Page and Matt Sydal at Bound For Glory but who will his partner be? We might find out more about this tonight on Impact.
