The Boogeyman Set to Return to WWE Programming This Week

The Boogeyman is set to make his long-awaited WWE return this week as Halloween approaches.

He has been very active on social media as of late with fans trying to return to the company and now it appears that The Boogeyman has gotten his wish. The Boogeyman will appear on WWE programming this week a few days before Halloween.

The Boogeyman Will Return to WWE on The Bump

WWE legend The Boogeyman will make his triumphant return to the company tomorrow at 1 PM. The Boogeyman will join stars Liv Morgan and Shotzi on WWE’s The Bump tomorrow afternoon. It will be interesting to see if he makes an appearance on RAW or SmackDown as well.

The Boogeyman is currently on a legends contract with the company but has made it known that he wants to return to television on social media. He recently posted on Twitter that he wants to face Bray Wyatt following his return at the Extreme Rules PLE.

Shotzi hosted the NXT Halloween Havoc over the weekend and recently teamed up with Raquel Rodriguez to battle Damage CTRL. The team fell short of capturing the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Liv Morgan lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules match at the Premium Live Event. Since losing the title, Liv’s attitude has completely changed. The 28-year-old attacked Sonya Deville backstage and Powerbombed her through a table on a recent episode of SmackDown. She went on to defeat Sonya in a singles match last week on the blue brand and hit her with a Superplex onto a stack of chairs after the match.

Former WWE Superstar Pushing For a Return

Triple H has brought back a number of people since coming to power in WWE. Now another interesting name is pushing for his return to WWE TV.

Retired wrestling star The Boogeyman recently posted a photo on Twitter wearing a WWE Network hat. In the caption, he wrote: “Bring Boogeyman Back To Tv”

The wrestling star was part of the WWE roster from 2004 to 2009. He took part in the fourth season of Tough Enough and later joined the roster at Ohio Valley Wrestling. He made his main roster debut during the October 14, 2005 episode of SmackDown.

The original idea was for him to be part of a TV show but it was canceled. Since WWE still had the talent under contract, they brought him in to wrestle. The Boogeyman would appear at unexpected places, holding clocks.

The wrestling star, real name Martin Wright was later moved to ECW back in 2007. His last wrestling appearance for the company came on March 3, 2009 where he competed against Kane. He was released the next day.

The Boogeyman has since been brought back by the company. He has made a number of appearances for the promotion in the last few years and he also signed a new contract with the company earlier this year.

The Boogeyman Signs New Contract With WWE

The Boogeyman, Marty Wright, recently posted a video to social media of him signing a new contract with WWE. It is not clear what type of deal he has signed with the company, although it is most likely a legends deal similar to what many WWE alumni are under.

His post announcing the news is below:

Boogeyman also posted the below video with the hashtag #WWELegend. Someone evidently decided to let the him hold their 1-week old child while he was in “full gear”.

Boogeyman performed over the weekend at an ACW event in Maryland.

The Boogeyman In WWE

Marty Wright got his start with WWE in 2004 after a notable audition for the Tough Enough contest. At the time, Boogeyman was 40 years old but he told officials he was only 30. The cut-off to enter the contest was 35. He was later called out on this by Al Snow and dropped from the contest. WWE would decide to give him a chance following this, however. He began training at OVW in early 2005 and Vignettes promoting the debut of the Boogeyman in WWE would begin airing later that year.

In 2006, Boogeyman was awarded the Rookie of the Year Award by Pro Wrestling Illustrated. The same award was won by Jade Cargill for 2021.

The Boogeyman: Possible WWE Return Later This Year

Indy wrestling promoters trying to book former WWE Superstar The Boogeyman for dates later this year have reportedly been told that he signed a new deal to return to WWE. This should be taken as a rumor for now but it sounds like he could be back on TV before the year is over, if the rumors are true.

The Boogeyman signed a WWE Legends deal in November 2015 and has appeared on WWE Swerved in the last year. He’s continued to work for indy promotions, including Booker T’s ROW.
