How Much Money Has Some Of The New WWE Studios Films Earned?

– The following are some figures from some of the latest WWE Studios projects:

“The Marine: Homefront” sold $2,570,365 worth of DVD units and $730,820 in Blu-ray units since March.

“12 Rounds: Reloaded” sold $919,421 worth of DVD units and $584,831 in Blu-ray units since June.

“The Call” sold $8,513,782 worth of DVD units and $3,142,841 in Blu-ray units from June 30th through August 4th.

“Dead Man Down” sold $3,418,711 worth of DVD units and $1,824,178 in Blu-ray units from July 14th through August 4th.

    -The WWE Studios project, “Dead Man Down” has sold 107,211 copies on DVD and 64,000 copies on Blu-ray. “The Call” has moved 400,698 DVDs. “12 Rounds: Reloaded,” which stars WWE Superstar Randy Orton, has moved 61,226 copies on DVD (as of late July).

    -Tickets to the New York Comic-Con, which will feature appearances by WWE Superstars Kane and Hornswoggle, are officially sold out.

    Leprechaun Theatrical Release Date, See No Evil 2 Update, Sequel To “The Call”

    -The WWE Studios Film “Leprechaun: Origins,” which stars WWE Superstar Hornswoggle, will be released in theaters on February 28, 2014.

    -WWE Studios are currently developing a sequel to “The Call,” which was one of the more successful WWE-related film projects. Fans who watched the initial film are aware of the potential of the sequel, as the final scene in the movie left the window open for such a possibility.

    -The WWE Studios project, “See No Evil 2,” which stars WWE Superstar Kane, will officially begin shooting on Monday in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

    WWE Movie Helps Redbox Set Big Milestone, Latest Doritos Jacked Fan Video

    – Variety.com reports that the WWE Studios film “The Call” helped DVD-rental kiosk service Red Box set a big milestone last month, when it was the company’s the 3 billionth rental. The rental took place on July 16th from Littleton, Colorado.

    The Call Finishes With A Strong Opening Weekend, Zeb Colter’s Latest Blog & More

    – WWE Studios’ “The Call” with Halle Berry and David Otunga finished at #2 at the box office over the weekend, taking in over $17 million. Based on the strong early showing, the movie is projected to take in around $45 million, which would make it a successful venture for WWE Studios and Sony Pictures. According to movie data site BoxOfficeMojo.com, the average audience for the film was 61% female and 53% were above the age of 30.

    By comparison, WWE Studios’ Dead Man Down opened last weekend with just $5.45 million. It drew just over $2 million this past weekend.

    – WWE manager Dutch Mantel (Zeb Colter) has posted a new blog on his Facebook page talking about his new role in WWE:

    “Hey guys…sorry I haven’t been around much but since I’ve gotten a ‘new job’ I’ve been running like crazy,” he said. “There’s not enough time in the week to handle all the things now. I’m not leaving, I’m just having to back out for a while. I’m the same guy…just with a different perspective now.”

    Strong Opening Weekend For “The Call”, SmackDown Backstage Fallout

    – WWE Studios’ “The Call” starring Halle Berry and featuring David Otunga is having a strong opening weekend, grossing $6.2 million in its opening day.

    The film is projected to make $16.7 million for the opening weekend, which would give it the #2 spot at the box office, behind Disney’s “Oz The Great And Powerful” and ahead of the new “Incredible Burt Wonderstone” comedy starring Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell as rival Vegas magicians.
