Last night on WWE’s Day 1 PPV from Atlanta, the Usos defeated the New Day after using a 3-D. The move was previously used by Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley. The Usos are referring to the move as the “1 and Done” or “1D”.
The Dudley Boyz were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018. They are former 9x WWE tag team champions, 1x WCW tag team champions (while in WWE), 1x NWA tag team champions (in TNA), 2x TNA tag team champions, and 8x ECW tag team champions.
The Usos are 7x WWE tag team champions. They also won the Slammy award in 2014 and 2015 for tag-team of the year. In 2017, they also won the Smackdown tag team champions vs RAW tag team champions match at Survivor Series against Cesaro and Sheamus.
On a recent edition of the E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness, former WWE Tag Team Champs Edge and Christian discussed being asked to induct The Dudley Boyz into the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame class.
Edge discussed the news breaking that he and Christian would be inducting Bubba Ray and D-Von, which was Bubba announcing it on Busted Open Radio. The pair also discussed getting the calls to be asked to induct The Dudley Boyz:
“Actually, the news broke by Bubba Ray Dudley on Busted Open Radio with me as the guest. I didn’t know he was going to do it.
“He got the pop himself and it has now been officially confirmed by WWE today as we’re recording this that we will be inducting The Dudley Boyz. Yeah!”
“We were very honored that they asked us to do it, and, obviously, we’ve talked about it many times in the past,” Christian added.
“All three teams will always be linked. If you think of the Dudleys, you think of Edge and Christian and The Hardy Boyz, and vice versa with all those other teams.
“We helped to put each other on the map and the feud with us and the Hardys really took off when those guys showed up.
“My phone rings immediately after [Edge’s phone rang] and it says, ‘Melbourne, Florida’,” Christian recalled. “And I’m like, ‘do we know anybody in Melbourne?’ I’m like, ‘your phone rang and then mine did.
“Should I answer it?’ and [Edge] is like, ‘yeah, yeah, you should answer it!’ So I answered it. It was D-Von. We had a nice conversation and he said he tried to call [Edge], so I said, ‘oh, I’ll pass him to you. He didn’t want to talk to you earlier.'”

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Busted Open radio show, Edge was asked by Bubba Ray to be joined by Christian to induct The Dudley Boyz into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2018. Edge said he was all in and that Christian would have no problem making the trip to New Orleans.
Today (March 21), WWE made it official. Edge and Christian will induct Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley ahead of WrestleMania 34. Peep the conversation that sparked today’s announcement below:

Edge and Christian, The Dudley Boyz, and The Hardy Boyz ruled tag team wrestling in the attitude era. All three teams participated in numerous Tables, Ladders, & Chairs matches. The most memorable one took place at WrestleMania 17. Edge and Christian ended up winning that battle.
The WWE Hall of Fame 2018 will stream live on the WWE Network on April 6. The ceremony is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET. Goldberg will be the main Hall of Fame inductee this year. He will be joined by Jeff Jarrett, Mark Henry, Ivory, Hillbilly Jim, and Kid Rock. Jarrius “JJ” Robertson will receive this year’s Warrior Award.
– As we’ve noted, former WWE Tag Team Champions The Dudley Boyz will be inducted into the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame class the day before WrestleMania 34 next month. One question WWE fans have been asking is who will induct the pair? Bubba Ray Dudley recently appeared on Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio and revealed exactly that.
He claimed that fellow WWE Tag Team Legends Edge and Christian will be doing the honors, but hopes Matt and Jeff Hardy are on stage with them as well. Here’s the official audio of Dudley’s announcement from Busted Open’s Twitter:

– WWE Superstar Elias recently did an interview with Guitar World and commented on possibly releasing music with WWE. Elias said that there are definitely plans in the works for him to record music with the company:
“Absolutely, I believe WWE—which, if you are not aware, stands for “Walk with Elias”—the company is taking notice of what I’m doing every week and there’s absolutely plans in the works to record music, release music, put it out there and give them the sound of Elias that they can take with them. They can have it on their phone, they can have it wherever on whatever music format they have.”

– A fan on Twitter recently asked 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame inductee Bully Ray who he’d like to have induct he and D-Von Dudley into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year. Ray responded by saying that if it were up to him he’d have everyone who was in the ECW Arena in February of 1997 – where he and D-Von hit their first 3D – induct them. However, since it’s a WWE Hall Of Fame he admitted names like Paul Heyman, Edge & Christian, or The Hardy Boyz would also be good options:
If it was totally up to me, I would want something completely different.
I would have every fan who was in the ECW Arena in Feb. ‘97 who saw me and Devon hit our first 3D induct us.
– Rusev has been training Lana hard ahead of their Mixed Match Challenge bout against the team of Elias and Bayley next week. WWE posted the following video of Rusev having Lana break boards in preparation for the match:

With SmackDown moving to the USA Network last week, WWE appears to be attempting to give fans more of a reason to tune in each Thursday evening.
On Monday’s RAW, WWE announced three matches as opposed to the usual one match or Superstar that they would air as a weekly commercial in the third hour of RAW for SmackDown, all of which either have a stipulation, a title on the line or a WWE title-holder involved.
The following matches were announced on Monday’s RAW for this week’s edition of SmackDown on the USA Network, which will be taped on Tuesday evening in Lafayette, Louisiana:
* The Dudley Boyz vs. The Wyatt Family (Tables Match)
* Dean Ambrose & Neville vs. Kevin Owens & Sheamus
* Kalisto (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio (WWE United States Title)
Make sure to visit SEScoops.com on Tuesday evening for a complete report from the WWE SmackDown television tapings in Lafayette, Louisiana.
While nothing is set in stone, there has been talk within WWE creative lately regarding the possibility of splitting up The Dudley Boyz and having Bubba Ray Dudley perform as a singles character more along the lines of the Bully Ray heel persona he portrayed in TNA.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that while the concept has been pitched and discussed at meetings in recent weeks, it doesn’t necessarily guarantee that it’s in the works because often times interesting ideas will come up and never actually come to fruition for one reason or another.
You may recall that WWE ran a poll last month asking fans which WWE championship belts could use a redesign. The tag team titles got the most votes by a long shot. Bubba Ray Dudley agrees the current tag team titles need to go and says they’re bringing back the classic belts the next time he and Devon become champions.
Several matches have been announced for WWE’s upcoming Straight Outta Dudleyville: The Legacy of the Dudley Boyz DVD. The Dudley Boyz, Tommy Dreamer & Rhyno vs. The Wyatt Family
As alluded to by Bubba Ray Dudley on Sunday night, a fourth “Extreme Brother” made his WWE television return on Monday’s TLC “go-home” edition of RAW in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Bubba Ray Dudley teased an addition to the trio of The Dudley Boyz and Tommy Dreamer for their ongoing battle against The Wyatt Family on Twitter on Sunday evening, informing fans that he had just spoken to the mystery “Extreme Brother” on the phone before telling everyone not to miss Monday’s RAW.
Monday’s RAW opened up with the League Of Nations in the ring and The Wyatt Family coming out, followed by The Dudley Boyz and Tommy Dreamer. The extreme trio wasted no time in introducing their mystery fourth “Extreme Brother” — Rhyno.
Rhyno made his way to the ring with the trio and the four went on to compete in a Fatal Four Way Elimination match against The Wyatt Family, The League Of Nations and the team of Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and The Usos. While The ECW Originals managed to eliminate The Wyatt Family during the match, they found themselves being the second team eliminated when WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus pinned Bubba Ray Dudley after hitting him with a Brogue Kick.
As noted, there has been talk of another ECW Original joining The Dudley Boyz and Tommy Dreamer in their ongoing battle against all four members of The Wyatt Family.
While there hasn’t been any updates regarding who the specific ECW Original will be, Bubba Ray Dudley took to social media on Sunday evening to inform the WWE Universe of an “Extreme Brother” he spoke to on the phone tonight before telling fans not to miss RAW tomorrow night.
We reported on Wednesday that there has been talk of a fourth ECW Original joining Bubba, Devon and Dreamer at the WWE TLC pay-per-view this coming Sunday in Boston, making it an even four on four match against Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.

Former WWE Superstar and ECW Original Tommy Dreamer made his WWE return on Monday’s edition of RAW at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dreamer returned during a promo segment that turned into a match between The Dudley Boyz and The Wyatt Family.
Bubba Ray and Devon were cutting a promo in the ring when the four Wyatt Family members — Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan — hit the ring. The Dudleyz claimed that they too had family on their side, which led to Dreamer making his way out.
The ECW Original made his way to the ring with a trash can full of weapons, which led to he and The Dudleyz teaming on to take on The Wyatt Family in a match on RAW. The match ended up finishing in a no contest, with Bubba Ray putting Bray through a table after the match to end the segment.

– WWE appears to be going forward with a feud between The Wyatt Family and The Dudley Boyz following the attack angles on this week’s RAW and SmackDown shows. WWE.com posted the following teaser for Monday’s RAW:
“We don’t want to imagine what Thanksgiving is like in the Wyatt compound, but The Eater of Worlds and his cruel kin gorged themselves on destruction this past Thursday on SmackDown, where they destroyed D-Von Dudley and sent his brother Bubba Ray through a table — using The Dudley Boyz’ own pine-splintering pastime against them.
Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman have twice obliterated Dudleyville’s favorite sons since Survivor Series, but something tells us the macabre quartet is just getting started. What sinister plans do The Wyatt Family have for Raw?”
– In the “holiday spirit” department, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, along with longtime top WWE Superstar and the star of the new FOX reality show “American Grit,” John Cena, posted the following Thanksgiving messages on Twitter today.

Bubba Ray Dudley recently appeared as a guest on Live Audio Wrestling and discussed possibly playing his heel character in WWE, The New Day, James Storm’s NXT debut and more. Below are some of the highlights.
Bringing Bully Ray to WWE:
“If WWE came to me and they told me that is something that they wanted to try out I would be more than happy to go down that road since I know I’ve done it in the past & I know I’ve done it in the past well. So I definitely think it could work.”
New Day balancing being entertaining and playing heels:
“I think when I go out there I go out there with a totally different mentality. My mentality is a little bit more old school and I think my mentality doesn’t exactly fit perfectly into what the WWE would want out of a ‘villain’ or ‘good guy’. What they want is entertainment and the New Day are entertaining and that’s the very first thing you need to be in the WWE. So if you’re entertaining and the people hate you that’s fine. And if you’re entertaining and the people love you that’s fine – as long as you’re entertaining.”
James Storm’s debut on NXT:
“Storm is a really great in-ring wrestler. He is really accomplished on the microphone. He is one of the guys that I worked with from Day One when I was in TNA. He was part of a very successful tag team. He did well on his own. He has a lot of years of knowledge & I think he can only help down there in NXT.”
Possible relationship between WWE and Team 3-D Academy:
“It’s definitely something that me and D-Von have thought about in the past. We’re very proud of our school, the Team 3-D Academy. Our school is a traditional school where if someone off the street wants to become a professional wrestler they come to us and we train them and hopefully they can move on to bigger things. Only 20 minutes away is the WWE Performance Center. So if they were ever interested in possibly getting together and having something like a minor league feeder system we would definitely be interested in talking to them about something like that.”
