The Miz Recalls A Humiliating Experience Early In His Career

Adelaide Now has an article on The Miz, who recalls a humiliating experience that took place during his early days in WWE.

“Nobody liked me, everyone wanted me fired and was trying to get me fired. I’m in the WWE, and everyone there and the WWE Universe hates me. It made me feel like I was walking on egg shells,” The Miz said of his colleagues.

“I got kicked out of the locker rooms, so I couldn’t find a place to change or shower. I remember one time going down the corridor to go to the (stadium’s public) bathroom and fans going `Oh my god, that’s The Miz’ – thanks, I’m going to the bathroom next to a kid that has my shirt on. It’s kind of belittling and humiliating. But it’s one of those things that made me stronger and made me realise I could take everything that anyone dishes.”

VIDEO From After RAW – Miz Injury Reports Are False

It was reported here that The Miz was injured after RAW during a dark match against WWE Champion John Cena. A fewl live reports came in from fans who were at RAW saying that The Miz suffered a leg injury, so we ran the story.

After some further investigating, it turns out there was no dark match that took place after RAW – and the reports were false.

The Miz wrote the following on Twitter regarding the reports:

“Tsk tsk kiddies did we learn something tonight? Don’t believe everything u read on the sheets.”

We apologize for the confusion. Unfortunately, due to the nature of live fan reports, sometimes errors occur.

Furthermore, several readers sent the following video in, showing the end of last night’s RAW where John Cena left after the beer bash with Steve Austin:

Mick Foley Teases Return To WWE Following On-Screen Firing

Last night’s episode of IMPACT WRESTLING concluded with Hulk Hogan announcing that Mick Foley had been fired as the Network Executive.

Hogan opened up a legal document and said that effective immediately, The Network has exercised the option of terminating said position. He then said to the camera, “Mick Foley, you’re fired!” Hogan’s theme music played and Bischoff said, “This is the happiest day of my life.”

Foley lampooned news of his on-screen firing on Twitter. He wrote, “Wait, I was FIRED?!? Are you CEREAL..I mean SERIOUS?!?”

He added, “Wait, I just checked my DVR and it cut out during Bischoff’s speech. I can’t be fired; I just got back a few weeks ago. Right?”

Foley then teased a possible return to WWE, saying The Miz needs a new assistant (following the dismissal of Alex Riley) and he needs a new job.

He wrote, “Good point @DHStom – I think @mikethemiz might need a new assistant..and I need a new job. Interesting, huh?”

He then retweeted a fan’s comment indicating that he could have appeared at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s birthday bash rather than return to TNA for a few weeks. It read: “Good thing Mick had to stay around for 3 weeks rather than be at @TheRock ‘s bday bash. #baddecisions”

In accordance with the storyline, his profile has been removed from the company website’s roster page. Foley, however, is still under contract to TNA. It expires in early September and he stated during an interview late last year with GeekWeek.com that he doesn’t plan on renewing it. “The Hardcore Legend” said he was frustrated with communication problems inherent in the structure of the organization and that he wasn’t pleased that they didn’t air footage of his appearance at Jon Stewart’s Rally To Restore Sanity at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Miz Talks About His Future, Jericho Writing Another Book, NXT

– After Byron Saxton was eliminated on last night’s WWE NXT, the final four are Titus O’Neil, Conor O’Brian, Lucky Cannon and Darren Young.

WWE has not yet announced when the next elimination or the season finale will take place.

– Former WWE champion The Miz was interviewed over the weekend to hype his appearance on this past Monday’s episode of Tough Enough. When asked about his future in WWE and what’s next for him, The Miz said:

“This whole process has been one long journey, chapters in a book, and once I succeed in one, I focus on the next. I want to be looked at as the guy who will take this company to the next level. I want to become the face of The WWE. I want people to think of The WWE and think of The Miz. I need to become bigger than John Cena, bigger than The Rock, bigger than Stone Cold. If you’re in The WWE and beating them isn’t your ultimate goal, you shouldn’t even be here.”

Love or hate The Miz’ television character, he does a phenomenal job of carrying himself like a champion. By constantly saying he wants to become the face of the WWE and be the biggest superstar of all time, he is putting himself in very good company and elevating his stature in the eyes of the fans.

– Chris Jericho made a few big announcements on Twitter this week. Jericho’s metal band Fozzy will be debuting their new music video next month:

“Tues, July 7 is the world premiere of the new @fozzyrock video “God Pounds His Nails” filmed live at the Golden Gods! Fozzyrock.com for info.”

Following the success of his most recent book Undisputed, the New York Times Best Selling author confirmed that he’ is officially working on his third book:

“The contract is in the mail so its official…there’s gonna be a third book! It’ll be released via Penguin Publishing in 2013. GET READY!!”

What Happened After RAW, Kharma’s Crying Segment, Trending

– After Monday’s RAW came off the air, The Miz came out and called out Alex Riley. When Riley didn’t come out, John Cena then grabbed the mic and said to The Miz, “So, as much as Portland hates to hear you talk, how about saying those two words again, not I’m awesome, but I Quit.”

Cena and Miz had a quick scuffle, which led to the Miz receiving an Attitude Adjustment from Cena and then a 619 from Rey Mysterio.

Cena then locked in the STF on Miz and held the mic to Miz’s face .. Miz screamed “I Quit!” in pain about 5 times, which got a huge pop from the crowd.

Cena and Mysterio celebrated in the ring to send the crowd home happy.

– Monday’s RAW featured a strange in-ring segment where Kharma came down to a ring full of WWE divas. Instead of beating the divas down as we’ve seen in recent weeks, Kharma sat down in the middle oft the ring and began to cry, which got a negative reaction from the crowd. Several readers sent in word that the segment continued into the commercial break, with many fans booing and chanting “bullsh*t.”

– Among the WWE-related topics that were trending on Twitter during RAW were Randy Savage, CM Punk, Bret Hart, Michael Cole, Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre and Evan Bourne.

The Miz To Stay A Main Eventer, WWE Wants More Rock & More

– For those of us still upset that WWE decided to take the WWE Championship off The Miz just 5 months into his first reign – we’ve got some good news about his standing in the company.

Unlike other young WWE stars who were given a top title and then had it taken away quickly (Sheamus, Jack Swagger), John Cena winning the WWE championship is not a sign that they’ve lost faith in The Miz as a main eventer. The company is very pleased with how he carried himself as champion.

In fact, WWE recently informed a number of their business partners that The Miz will remain one of the company’s top superstars in the coming year … and THAT … is awwweeesommme.

Miz & Maryse Appear On TMZ, Vows To Shave Reporter’s Head

The Miz and Maryse, his girlfriend, were featured on Thursday’s episode of TMZ on TV. The former WWE Champion played up his heel character as he responded to a segment on a show last week where a reporter took a swipe at him.

The couple was spotted in Los Angeles, where Miz responded to TMZ’s reporter, Charles, saying one WWE star — The Miz — had to die in a scripted movie hunting down Osama bin Laden—this was days before bin Laden was actually killed.

“Really? Am I the Spencer Pratt of WWE, Charles? I’m going to shave Charles’s head next time I see him,” Miz said while Maryse tried not to laught. “His dreadlocks are going away. If I’m the Spencer Pratt of WWE — the one person that has to die if I go overseas — let me tell you, I’m shaving Charles’s head.”

Charles replied from TMZ headquarters that he was writing a script for a movie. “He should be lucky he even got a role in the movie,” Charles said.

The segment can be seen here at the 3:00 minute mark.

Three Title Changes Take Place At WWE Extreme Rules

John Cena is a 10-time World Champion after defeating The Miz and John Morrison in a Steel Cage Match tonight at Extreme Rules.

The match concluded with The Miz teased the Skullcrushing Finale, which was countered by Cena using an Attitude Adjustment from the top rope. Cena made the cover to become the new WWE champion.

Earlier in the evening, Christian beat Alberto Del Rio in a Ladder Match to capture his first-ever World Heavyweight Championship.

The 21-minute contest concluded following interference from Edge, who made an unadvertised appearance to distract Del Rio. Christian proceeded to scale a ladder to capture his first major title in WWE.

Also changing hands was the United States Championship. SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long scheduled an impromptu Tables Match between Kofi Kingston and United States Champion Sheamus, which resulted in the high-flyer smashing The Celtic Warrior through the hardwood to capture the title for a second time.

Natalya Comments On Changing Brands, Henry Joins Twitter

— Natalya was drafted to the SmackDown brand during today’s WWE Draft. The third-generation wrestler commented on the move.

“Really excited to be on SmackDown!” she wrote on Twitter. “Like I said, change is good and I’m all about it! I guess I need some blue in my outfit now.

“I wonder if ill reunite with @TheBethPhoenix for a sisters of destruction reunion!?”

— WWE has confirmed that Mark Henry has launched an account on Twitter.

WWE.com posted a video last night of Henry’s reaction to being drafted SmackDown, during which he broke down crying about getting back into shape. Regarding this, he wrote, “I am not sad at all, I am emotional not soft u will see what a angry in shape.”

— WWE Champion The Miz stated on Twitter that all of the Superstars are out of the loop regarding the annual Draft.

He wrote, “Anyone else following the continued #WWEDraft on wwe.com? Some interesting picks thus far. It’s amazing how out of the loop the Superstars are. I remember when I got drafted from Smackdown to ECW I found out through wwe.com.”

WHO SHOULD GET TRADED IN TONIGHT’S WWE DRAFT?

As we’ve been reporting here on the site, the recent surprise retirement of Edge has left the SmackDown brand in dire need of a top baby face. This is one of the main factors that led Vince McMahon to move this year’s WWE Draft from June to this Monday night’s episode of RAW.

WWE officials have discussed moving Alberto Del Rio to Raw during next Monday’s WWE Draft as he is currently penciled to headline SummerSlam against John Cena. It has also been broached for Del Rio move to the brand as World Heavyweight Champion, with The Miz, as WWE Champion, heading to SmackDown.

With that being said, the identities of who gets moved are constantly changing.

The entire mid-card, with Cody Rhodes, The Nexus, The Corre, Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre and R-Truth specifically cited, are also strong candidates to change brands during the Draft.

Cara appeared ringside to combat the duo. By orders of the Anonymous Raw General Manager, a match was set between the two sides, which resulted with the babyfaces going over.

— John Morrison faced WWE Champion The Miz and John Cena in a Triple Threat Match at Friday’s Raw live event in Dublin, Ireland. Alex Riley interfered in the match, resulting in Cena and Morrison facing The Miz and Riley. The babyface wrestlers won the contest.

The Miz Interview: WM28, The Rock, Fans Liking Him

WWE Champion The Miz spoke with The Miami Herald this week and had this to say about the following topics:

Fans’ reaction to him: “The fans always cheer me at events like Axxess or the press conferences. Then at live events they boo me, but show me the respect I deserve. They didn’t do that three years ago, when they literally hated me and couldn’t stand me. They changed the channel, when I was on TV. Now I think I’m starting to earn their respect, which is good.”

The Rock: “The Rock was my favorite growing up. He has always been my favorite. I was able to get in there and upstage him and literally show him that I’m better. It’s like when you see an icon or someone you idolize when you are younger. Then you are in the ring with him and are able to show him up. To show everyone you are better than your idol, there is nothing better than that.”

WrestleMania 28 in Miami: “I will still be the main event. I plan on still being the WWE champion. I plan on being the longest reigning WWE champion of all time. It’s just the type of person I am. I am always aiming to be number one and the best. So I will be the champion, the main event and everything everyone else isn’t.”

WWE Unhappy With WM27 Booking (Cena-Miz & Lawler-Cole)

WrestleMania 27 is in the books and the overall feeling we’ve been hearing is that the show had the “big time” WrestleMania feeling, but the booking of several of the top matches was executed poorly.

We reported shortly before and in the days following WrestleMania that Vince McMahonwas said to be “frantic” backtage and several aspects of the show were re-written just hours before it went on the air.

WWE has been examining the broad from top to bottom in hopes of  and taking a look at what could have been done better – and two matches in particular are standing out – John Cena vs. The Miz main event and the Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler special attraction match.

Many think that the double countout finish of the WWE title match was a disaster and not a satisfying finish for the main event of WrestleMania, despite the fact that the entire thing was approved by Vince McMahon the day of the show.

There is also some heat on WWE agent Dean Malenko for the way he laid out the Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler match. While this one seemed like a no-brainer to book, anybody who saw the match would agree that Michael Cole’s was given way too much offense, which killed the energy of the live crowd.

Previews For Tonight’s RAW, Tough Enough & DWTS

– WWE Tough Enough will move to it’s permanent timeslot tonight at 8PM (Eastern)  on the USA Network, one hour before RAW. John Cena will be featured on tonight’s show, which is titled “Five for Flinching.”

Steve Austin wrote on Twitter over the weekend that Bill DeMott “totally destroys everthing in his path” on tonight’s show.

– Tonight’s episode of WWE RAW takes place from the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut. As of early Monday afternoon, no matches have been announced yet for the show. With WWE’s next pay-per-view, Extreme Rules, just 3 weeks away, there’s a good chance we’ll find out that show’s RAW brand main event tonight.

The advertised dark match main event will see John Cena and Randy Orton teaming up against WWE champion The Miz and Nexus leader C.M. Punk.

WWE United States Champion Sheamus likely will not be on RAW tonight, as he was overseas in Qatar on Sunday promoting WWE’s upcoming show there. Considering the WWE crews are flying out for Europe later this week, it would be unlikely for them to make him fly back from Qatar to the United States for RAW tonight and then back out to England this week.

Unfortunately for fans of The Rock, he won’t be at RAW tonight, as he’s currently in Brazil promoting his new movie, Fast Five.

– Chris Jericho will continue on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars tonight. He wrote the following on Sunday:

“Had the best week of rehearsals w @cherylburke yet! Really stoked for tomorrows performance. In otherwords, it’s time for maximum DANSOSITY!”

What’s Next For The Miz, RAW Sells Out Again & More

– This past Monday’s RAW from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia drew 15,654 fans with 12,500 of those being paid – making it the 7th consecutive sellout for RAW.

– SEScoops.com reader Stan sent in word that Monday’s episode of RAW featured a total of 30 minutes and 11 seconds of in-ring action. While this doesn’t sound like much for a two hour broadcast, this is actually way up from the previous week’s show, which only featured 17 minutes and 39 seconds of actual WRESTLING (yeah, we said it!)

– At Sunday’s WrestleMania XXVII pay-per-view, we saw WWE Champion The Miz defy the odds and retain his title against John Cena. WWE officials are said to be thrilled with the evolution of character in recent months. It’s hard to believe how far he has come in just one year’s time, but The Miz has carried himself like a true champion and his recent media appearances promoting WrestleMania have solidified him as somebody the company knows they can rely on to represent them.

John Cena wrote on Twitter this week that he plans to re-focus his attention on The Miz and the WWE championship, now that his beef with The Rock has been put on hold for the time being.

It’s worth noting that WWE’s long-term direction is to have The Miz eventually turn babyface. The Miz has received a lot of babyface reactions from live WWE crowds lately, in part due to him working against Cena, who is a face but gets so much heel heat.

Check out this exclusive video we shot several months back of The Miz winning the WWE Championship from Randy Orton:

WrestleMania Battle Royal Participants, Trivia Fact On The Miz

— The originally scheduled United States Championship Match between Sheamus and Daniel Bryan was nixed from the WrestleMania XXVII pay-per-view broadcast. It was moved to the dark match position, and turned into a Battle Royal. It was won by The Great Khali, who last eliminated Sheamus.

The following twenty-two WWE Superstars participated in the match: Chavo Guerrero, Chris Masters, Curt Hawkins, Daniel Bryan, David Hart Smith, Drew McIntyre, Evan Bourne, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Johnny Curtis, JTG, Mark Henry, Primo, R-Truth, Sheamus, Ted DiBiase, The Great Khali, Trent Barreta, Tyler Reks, William Regal, Yoshi Tatsu and Zack Ryder.

— The Miz is the second WWE Superstar in WrestleMania history to have entered the final match of the evening as a heel and reigned victorious.

The first such instance occurred eleven years ago at WrestleMania 2000 when Triple H beat The Rock, Mick Foley and Big Show in a Fatal Four-Way Elimination Match to retain the WWE Championship.

In both cases, the winner was subject to a post-match Smackdown from The Rock.
