– “Ms. Money In The Bank” Carmella recently answered a question from a fan on Twitter asking her where she got the idea for her moonwalk entrance. Michael Hayes jumped in and claimed that Carmella has stolen “everything I ever did”:
Hi @CarmellaWWE where did you come up with the moon walking idea, Only wrestler i can remember doing it was @MichaelPSHayes1
@CarmellaWWE__ has stolen everything i ever did!!! Where do U think she came up with Fabulous??? Let me guess, next she will write her own theme song!!! Bahahaha
– WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz is one of seven men that will be involved in this weekend’s Elimination Chamber match. He took to Twitter and listed out each of his adversaries’ gimmicks, claiming to be the only ‘real’ thing involved in the match:
– WWE Hall Of Famer Diamond Dallas Page was backstage for last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW from Phoenix, Arizona. He arrived to the RAW arena around the time Main Event tapings began. PWInsider is reporting that the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion was filming material for upcoming WWE projects. This includes filming for the upcoming “Unreleased Matches” DVD on “The Macho Man” Randy Savage which comes out later this year.
– Following last night’s Seven-Man Gauntlet match on Monday Night RAW, Finn Balor took to Twitter to heap some praise on Seth Rollins and take shots at WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz:
Forget about any controversial moments over the last 2 years, I’ve nothing but respect for @WWERollins & his performance tonight. ? As for the @mikethemiz & his goons …. this is chess, not checkers .. see you Sunday, locked IN the #wwechamber ? https://t.co/ACF2oSKUmB
– This weekend’s Elimination Chamber match competitors; The Miz, Finn Balor, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins and Elias will all compete in a Gauntlet match on RAW tongiht. WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz took to Twitter to slam Balor specifically ahead of the match:

The Miz continues to pass milestones on his quest to being known as the greatest Intercontinental champion of all time. Just recently, Miz passed Don “the Rock” Muraco for 2nd all-time in combined days as champion.
Ahead of WrestleMania 34, where he’s expected to defend his Universal Title against Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar is scheduled to work four live events next month in March ahead of “The Show Of Shows.” Lesnar is currently scheduled to face off against Kane from the United Center in Chicago on March 3rd. The next week on March 9th from the Target Center in Minneapolis WWE is promoting a Champion vs. Champion match-up between “The Beast” and Intercontinental Champion The Miz.
The week after that Lesnar will again defend his Universal Title in a Triple Threat match against Kane and Braun Strowman from Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday, March 16th. And finally, in his last match before WrestleMania 34, Lesnar is being advertised to perform on Friday, March 30th at the TD Garden in Boston. No opponent has been announced for that match as of this writing.
– On last night’s episode of RAW WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz qualified for the Elimination Chamber match by defeating Apollo Crews. The winner of the Chamber match will go on to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34. Miz took to Twitter to ask his doubters over the years if they ‘feel stupid yet’:
– Speaking of the Elimination Chamber match, next week’s episode of RAW from San Jose will feature a Fatal Four-Way match between Finn Balor, Matt Hardy, Bray Wyatt, and Apollo Crews. All of these men lost their initial qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber.
This “Second Chance Fatal Four-Way” will determine the sixth and final competitor in the Elimination Chamber match. WWE recently posted an interview with Finn Balor; who vows to win the Fatal Four-Way, go on to win the Chamber match, and topple Lesnar at WrestleMania to regain the Universal Crown:
– Nia Jax was left out of the first-ever Women’s Elimination Chamber match, however, RAW General Manager did but her in a match that gives her quite the opportunity. Jax will instead take on Women’s Royal Rumble winner Asuka in a Singles match. If she’s successful she’ll be thrown into the RAW Women’s Title match at WrestleMania, making it a Triple Threat match. She took to Twitter to react:
A place in the first women’s #WWEChamber match was what I wanted…
…but I’ll settle for breaking @WWEAsuka’s streak and a championship match at #WrestleMania. That’ll be just fine. #Raw
RAW’s 25th Anniversary special saw The Miz defeat Roman Reigns to capture the Intercontinental Championship for the 8th time.
This week, WWE’s focus is on Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view. After that, it’s full speed ahead on the road to WrestleMania – and it appears WWE has locked in another top match for show. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
“At this point it appears nothing at the top has changed for WrestleMania. As of right now the plan is for The Miz to defend the IC title against Braun Strowman, which is why Miz’s win was as clean as it was, since the IC title will be one of the biggest matches at Mania.”
Reddit user crapusername47 has a pretty brilliant theory about how a hypothetical Mixed Match Challenge match could kick off the Miz vs. Strowman feud.
“Miz and Asuka beat Alexa and Braun but Miz refuses to tag in or immediately tags out whenever he’s supposed to face Strowman. Miz never actually touches Strowman or gets any offence in and Asuka carries the match. Asuka pins Bliss, furthering their own feud and then Miz can gloat about having beaten Braun Strowman.”
WrestleMania 34 takes place on Sunday, April 8th from New Orleans, Louisiana at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Prior to his big victory over Roman Reigns on RAW 25 earlier this week where he recaptured the Intercontinental Championship, The Miz spoke to ESPN to talk about several professional wrestling topics. One topic of discussion is the fact that he and his wife, Maryse, are expecting their first child this Spring. The Miz does not want to miss the birth of his first daughter so he said he has a private jet on standby at all times:
“I’m so excited to be a father. I’m excited, nervous, happy, scared. It’s every emotion you could possibly think of, I’m going through it. It’s a WrestleMania baby. The only thing my wife asked me was that [she wanted me to be there]. I literally have a private jet on call at all times.
“I will spend whatever amount of money to get there, to be there and support her and witness my first child being born because I am ecstatic. I don’t want to be the dad that’s not there. I don’t want the kid to ever think that I wasn’t there. I want her to be the one that says you were there, you guided me, you supported me in the best way you knew how.”
Several huge names have held the WWE Intercontinental Title over the years, and the title means a great deal to “The Hollywood A-Lister.” He said he wasn’t happy seeing it become a ‘second-place title’:
“Ultimate Warrior, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude — you name it. Every superstar that was my hero growing up as a kid has held that title. It’s a title I always loved as a kid. When I got it for the first time, you’re ecstatic, you’re happy, but you watch the title become a second-place kind of title.
“The last time I got it, I literally said I [was] sick of people looking at this as just a placeholder, as like a whatever title. I want people to understand that when you hold that title, it is prestigious, it is relevant, it has a rich history and that’s what I set out to do. I think I’ve been doing a pretty good job of it, but I’m not done until I’m main-eventing WrestleMania with the Intercontinental championship.”
Miz lost the Intercontinental Title to Roman Reigns this past November in order to go film a new movie for a few weeks. Upon his return two weeks ago he received “Welcome Back” chants from the WWE Universe, something that took Miz aback:
“When I came back two weeks ago to Monday Night Raw, I was gone for six episodes, six weeks. And literally I came back and there were ‘welcome back’ chants. I thought wait a second. Brock Lesnar was gone longer than I am and he doesn’t get welcome back chants, but I am? Usually you guys hate me and boo me and tell me I suck, but now you’re welcoming me back? It made me feel that I was a piece of this puzzle and the main piece was missing.”

Roman Reigns dropped the Intercontinental Championship to The Miz on last night’s RAW 25 episode, causing some fans to speculate as to whether or not this was due to reports leaking out that “The Big Dog” was involved in a steroid ring scandal. Richard Rodriguez, owner of Wellness Fitness Nutrition LLC (WFN), names Reigns (along with a few other celebrities) as a client of his. Rodriguez’s WFN was raided by the DEA last year after a year-long investigation.
Reigns released a statement denying any involvement with Rodriguez, and claims not to have even known the man:
“I have never heard of Richard Rodriguez or Wellness Fitness Nutrition. I learned from the mistake I made nearly two years ago and paid the penalty for it. Since then, I’ve passed 11 tests as part of WWE’s independent drug testing program.”
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that Reigns’ Intercontinental Title loss to Miz is not related to these events. In fact, WWE sees this as a non-story. Reigns is reportedly still scheduled to main event WrestleMania 34 opposite Brock Lesnar and challenge “The Beast” for the Universal Title. Meltzer also reports that The Miz is actually receiving a big push right now as they have major plans for him at WrestleMania 34.
This could be part of the reason Miz went over on Reigns and recaptured the Intercontinental Title. Another reason could be to have Reigns focus on challenging for the Universal Title as we kick off the Road To WrestleMania. There is currently no word on whether or not Reigns is winning the Royal Rumble, but it would make sense to set up Reigns vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania.
– WWE will air a new WWE 24 documentary on the WWE Network following The Royal Rumble this weekend. The special will last for one-hour and will go behind the scenes of WrestleMania 33 last year in Orlando.
– On last night’s RAW 25 Roman Reigns dropped the Intercontinental Championship to The Miz. “The Big Dog” took to Twitter to reflect on the loss, saying despite the fact that the result didn’t go his way last night it’s still his yard:
#Raw25 was a special night for @WWE and Brooklyn didn’t disappoint. Not the outcome I was expecting but every day is a new fight. This is still #MyYard and I’m going to continue to prove why. #WitnessMe
– Below is new video of WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz talking to Charly Caruso after his big win over Roman Reigns at RAW 25. Miz talks about how fans witnessed a match they will talk about for the next 25 years, and how he’s made the title relevant again. The segment ends with Miz leaving to go to the Manhattan Center for the dark segment with RAW Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins and DX.
– As noted, Jeff Hardy appeared backstage during the poker game that The APA held at RAW 25. Jeff reunited with brother Matt Hardy inside the Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom after Matt’s loss to Bray Wyatt. The Hardys’ theme hit to a big pop and out came Jeff to console his brother after the loss. Matt cut a promo on losing a battle in The Great War, then had Jeff sing his “Obsolete” song to taunt Wyatt for a future meeting.
– It looks like WWE Hall of Famer Lita was not invited to the RAW 25 special as she tweeted the following in response to being included on the commemorative ringside chair that fans took home:
There was no dark main event after the WWE RAW 25th Anniversary show went off the air at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn but there was a special dark segment for fans at the Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom.
That dark segment, which took place after Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson defeated The Revival with DX, Sean Waltman, WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall and Finn Balor at ringside, saw new WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz cut a promo on DX and The Balor Club. Miz has traveled from the Barclays Center to the Manhattan Center following his big title win over Roman Reigns. Miz ran down DX and The Balor Club, promising not to invite them to the RAW 30th Anniversary special. RAW Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins then came out, which caused the fans to chant ROH. Rollins cut a promo on The Miz and acknowledged winning the ROH Title in this same building, saying he was proud of it. Miz then cut such a good promo that the fans turned and started cheering him on. The segment ended with Rollins hitting his Blackout curb stomp on Miz as a big “suck it!” chant rang out from the crowd.
Triple H then cut a promo to thank fans and the DX theme song played to send everyone home happy.
There was another dark segment that took place following the DX segment at the Manhattan Center with WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Flair commented on making the mistake of returning to WCW after being at the Manhattan Center for three RAW shows, and talked about how he was lucky to be back with his friends for RAW 25. He put over the members of DX, Waltman and Scott Hall, noting how Shawn gave him the best send-off in the history of sports for his retirement.
Below are a few photos from both segments:

One last moment for the live crowd – Seth Rollins made his way over to the Manhattan Center just to hit a Blackout on The Miz to send the crowd home just a little bit happier. pic.twitter.com/Uewy8qkXsd
Leading up to WrestleMania 33, The Miz was involved with sketches that saw him take on the role of John Cena on WWE; all that was missing from the impersonation was Cena’s physique. The Miz was joined by his wife, Maryse who portrayed Nikki Bella.
While the mockery saw immediate success, a recent interview with Sports Illustrated’s “Extra Mustard” highlighted The Miz’s cautious approach to the idea.
At the first the A-List superstar didn’t want to do it, he thought that it wouldn’t be very good and that it wouldn’t be memorable. Having already seen Kurt Angle do a perfect imitation of John Cena, it’s not surprising that The Miz thought this way.
The Miz later started to change his mind as he experimented with different styles of Cena’s voice and catch phrases while on the road. The indicator that the idea was worth running with came from Maryse, who is apparently hard to make laugh.
“If Maryse laughs at something, then it’s funny because she doesn’t laugh at anything. So I was like, ‘Hmm, this is something. And then I started thinking of ideas on what it would be and I was like, ‘alright we got something here.”
The Miz highlighted Maryse’s impression of Nikki as the key to opening up a simple gimmick into a running theme. The other important factor that The Miz pinpointed was the production value and dedication; the way the editors worked to match the segments with Total Bellas, making everything as realistic as possible.
According to the former Intercontinental Champion, the reaction to John Cena & Nikki Bella VS The Miz & Maryse at WrestleMania 33 was extremely negative. He explained that fans were expecting John Cena VS The Undertaker, with The Miz taking on AJ Styles. However, the A-List superstar appeared to claim that his build up to WrestleMania 33 turned the pessimistic fan base on it’s head as the match became one that “everyone’s looking forward to seeing.”
The Miz also showed a softer side to his usual heel/self-centered persona as he credited Cena’s proposal to Nikki Bella, which completed the story arc “perfectly”.
Opinion/Discussion:
What is the best/funniest impression that has featured on WWE? I’m just going to mention one name to spark it off… The Big Show.
– As we’ve noted, The Miz will rematch Roman Reigns for the Intercontinental Championship at RAW’s 25th Anniversary Show on January 22nd. The Miz closed out this past Monday’s episode of RAW by attacking Roman Reigns with The Miztourage. The assault didn’t stop there, however, as The Miz took to Twitter today to taunt “The Big Dog” even further:
– On last night’s episode of SmackDown Live Ruby Riott suffered a loss to Becky Lynch in singles competition. WWE posted the following video in which Riott challenges Lynch, Naomi, and SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair to a Six-Woman Tag match against The Riott Squad:
We’ve noted how WWE has been working on a reality TV show for The Miz and wife Maryse, which would follow their lives in Los Angeles and on the road with WWE. The show would feature appearances by real life friends Dolph Ziggler and singer Ryan Cabrera, as well as some of Maryse’s family members.
Miz confirmed on tonight’s RAW that the show will be airing on the USA Network some time this year.
Below is WWE’s announcement on the new show:
The Miz & Maryse to star in new USA Network unscripted show “Miz & Mrs.”
USA Network has greenlit “Miz & Mrs.,” a docuseries chronicling the lives of The Miz and Maryse. The six-episode, half-hour series will feature the married pair, known for being larger than life both in and out of the ring, as the Superstars become parents for the first time.
Produced by WWE and Bunim/Murray Productions and expected to air in 2018, “Miz & Mrs.” will complement USA’s WWE programming, which includes five hours of live programming each week, 52 weeks a year, with Monday Night Raw and SmackDown LIVE.
“As the exclusive television home for WWE’s flagship programming, USA Network is excited to give this passionate fanbase even more of two of WWE’s most colorful Superstars, The Miz and Maryse,” said Heather Olander, SVP of Alternative Development and Production. ““Miz & Mrs.” is an intimate, behind-the-scenes glimpse at this iconic couple as they face one of their most exciting challenges yet – becoming parents.”
““Miz & Mrs.” will undoubtedly be the most must-see show on television,” said Miz and Maryse. “We can’t wait to share this next chapter of our lives with our fans as we get ready to welcome our daughter into this world.”
WWE has announced another team for the Mixed Match Challenge tournament.
On Monday morning, the sports entertainment company officially announced that The Miz, who is slated to make his return to television this week on Raw, will team up with former NXT Women’s Champion Asuka.
Blow is WWE’s official statement on the team being made:
The team of The Miz and Asuka will represent Team Red in the WWE Mixed Match Challenge tournament, airing exclusively on Facebook Watch beginning Tuesday, Jan. 16. Upon learning that they would team together, the newely-formed tandem had a simple message for the WWE Universe, “we will win!” Regardless of whether or not people like The Miz, they absolutely must respect the outspoken Superstar. In addition to being a former WWE Champion, a seven-time Intercontinental Champion, a two-time United States Champion and a Money in the Bank Ladder Match winner, The A-Lister stands as a six-time Tag Team Champion. This shows that he can indeed play well with others and do so at the top of his game. The Empress of Tomorrow has been unbeatable since beginning her run in NXT. This includes an unprecedented 523 days reign as NXT Women’s Champion, a title she vacated before taking on the new challenge of the main roster. Since joining Raw, the dynamic competitor has taken WWE by storm, most recently making Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss tap out to the Armbar in a non-title match as she sets her sights on the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match. There is no indication that Asuka knows how to lose. Put simply, Miz’s tremendous experience, mixed with the skill of the undefeated Asuka, may prove to be an extremely effective combination. Together, Miz and Asuka will do battle in the ground-breaking tournament on Facebook Watch, where male-female WWE Superstar pairings will attempt to win $100,000 for a charity of their choice. Each showdown in the competition will follow traditional Mixed Tag Team Match rules: When tagged, male Superstars face off with the opposing team’s male competitor, and female Superstars battle fellow female competitors. Check back with WWE.com to learn other #WWEMMC combinations as they become available. Follow WWE Mixed Match Challenge on Facebook for updates, and find out how you can impact the show’s matchups, stipulations and more along the way. WWE Mixed Match Challenge begins Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10 ET/7 PT, exclusively on Facebook Watch.
– Currently Enzo Amore is the only WWE Superstar being sidelined by an illness, as he missed this past Monday’s episode of RAW after contracting the flu. Braun Strowman was sent home early from WWE’s holiday live event tour, however, he was able to return for RAW and defeat Rhyno.
Wrestling Inc. reports that several other WWE Superstars aside from Strowman and Amore are suffering from illnesses backstage and have been given IV treatment. It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not those illnesses are from the flu or something else, but it is being said that several Superstars didn’t go out on New Years Eve because of how sick they were.
– As they prepare to welcome their first child into the world, WWE Superstars The Miz and Maryse have purchased a brand new home and shared the following photos on social media:
– WWE officials told F4WOnline.com this afternoon that Braun Strowman is scheduled for tonight’s Raw in Miami, Florida.
After working two live events where he brawled with Kane, Strowman returned home on Thursday due to a bad case of the flu. This caused him to miss the final three live events of 2017.
– In a post on Instagram, The Miz reflects on his professional and personal achievements in 2017 and reveals his goals for 2018.

– The second season of the soap opera series Tainted Dreams, starring former Impact Wrestling star Jessie Godderz, premiered on Amazon and Amazon Prime this past week. According to F4WOnline.com, former WWE talent Lisa Marie Varon (aka Victoria) appears in the series as a parole officer for the character Godderz plays. This reunites the two as they played a couple in TNA in 2012 and 2013.
– We previously noted that Rolling Stone named The Miz their 2017 WWE Wrestler Of The Year. The Miz recently Tweeted out his reaction to the news, taking a shot at WWE Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns in the process (who defeated Miz for the strap on RAW last month):
– England’s Tottenham Hotspur football club posted a video of midfielder Mousa Dembele engaging in a joke battle with WWE Superstar Finn Balor. Check it out below:
– The Miz joined fellow celebrities such as Adam Devine and Iliza Shlesinger in the Middle East during Christmas for a four-day USO tour. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion did various activities such as getting boomeranged off the USS Theodore Roosevelt in a military plane. Here’s what Miz had to say about the experience via TMZ Sports:
“I’ve been on all kinds of rollercoasters and nothing beats this,” The Miz said. “I literally tell (Devine), ‘My balls are in my throat.’”
– Former WWE Champion JBL recently did an interview with The Guardian to talk about his charity work with Beyond Rugby Bermuda. Here’s what he had to say about the program:
“I had seen the ethos of rugby and I was very much an admirer,” JBL said. “For us it’s a beautiful sport, what I guess what Pele called soccer in Brazil. It’s so simple, it’s easy to understand, you can play five on five or 15 on 15. I would be so much better coaching American football, but you need 22 on each side and all the equipment and everything. With rugby you just need a mouthpiece and grass.
“We have issues with gangs and with drugs in Bermuda but we want to attract the most hardcore kids. We want the gang leaders, because they’re going to be leaders either in a gang or on the rugby pitch. And we’ve had a lot of success. We have super-tough kids who grew up in super-tough environments and they enjoy getting out there and knocking each other around and having a piece of pizza and going home.”

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz recently did an interview with WWE to talk about a variety of topics. The Miz revealed what Vince McMahon told him after he won the WWE Championship back in 2010, why he went off on SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan on an episode of Talking Smack, and his first vignettes as The Miz in 2006. Here are the highlights:
What Vince McMahon told him after winning the WWE Title back in 2010:
“Vince [McMahon], kind of giving me the ‘Okay, we’re going with you, kid. We’re doing it.’ Vince always saw the talent, he was always my biggest supporter. When you come into WWE- it’s like a fraternity, fans don’t like you, because you’re an outsider, you’re from a reality show, you’re not supposed to have talent. The locker room doesn’t like you, you get thrown out of the locker room, and then going back and having Vince telling me ‘We’re going with you. I know you can do it,’ solidifies everything. Everything I worked for. It was awesome.”
Going off on Daniel Bryan on an episode of Talking Smack:
“There were a lot of emotions going on here. This wasn’t just to Daniel; this was like, to everyone. I unleashed a lot because Creative had nothing for me that day, and I went, ‘What?’ They were like ‘Yeah, you’re not on the show tonight.’ What do you mean I’m not on the show? I’m the Intercontinental Champion. They were like, ‘Yeah, but we’re introducing new titles, we’re introducing the new Tag Team Titles and the new SmackDown Women’s Title, and so, we don’t have room for the Intercontinental Championship.’
“I was like ‘Wait a second, you’re introducing new titles, but what about the rich history of this title? The title that you guys just keep throwing back, and throwing back, and throwing back. Burying it, burying it, and burying it, and I’m sick [of it].’ I was so aggravated, I was so sick of it. And I was like, ‘Put me on Talking Smack tonight, I’m going to unleash havoc on everything and everyone.'”
His early vignettes as The Miz in 2006:
“This was my first vignette as ‘The Miz,’ by myself. I went to the [WWE] Headquarters and basically pissed everyone off. When I threw these [water] balloons [from the roof], little did I know that I would dent all the cars that I threw them on. Yeah, I kind of made a lot of insurance companies not so happy.”
Filming for WWE Studios’ latest project The Marine 6: Close Quarters wrapped this week in London. The Miz and Shawn Michaels have returned home to the United States, while Becky Lynch is back in Ireland an gearing up for her upcoming return.
Lynch and The Miz have been off WWE television during filming, with Miz dropping the Intercontinental Championship to Roman Reigns before heading to the UK. Both are expected back on television after the New Year in the lead-up to the Royal Rumble on 1/28.
The synopsis for The Marine 6 reads, “When Jake Carter (The Miz) and fellow Marine Luke Trapper (Shawn Michaels) stumble upon a kidnapped girl being held prisoner by a dangerous gang of international criminals, they find themselves in the crosshairs as they try to save the girl and bring her kidnappers to justice.”
No release date has been announced as of this writing.
Rolling Stone magazine has named its 2017 Wrestler Of The Year, and it may take some professional wrestling fans by surprise. Rolling Stone has decided to name former WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz as its 2017 Wrestler Of The Year, and that decision is explained in the following excerpt from their article:
“That’s right: The Miz. I don’t care if he’s off shooting The Marine Part XL or on the precipice of paternity leave. It doesn’t matter that he’s not in contention for a world title any time soon, or that he’s left his poor Miztourage of Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel to fend for themselves during his absence. He is still a leader.
“In fact, he’s been the de facto leader of Raw for most of the past several months, stepping up when others were hurt or stuck in storyline limbo, taking his licks against the biggest names in the biz and coming out scathed but frequently hoisting Intercontinental gold above his shoulders. Mike Mizanin and that prestigious belt have become synonymous over his frankly illustrious decade-plus career, itself an improbable manifestation of a publicly documented quest to flower from Midwest na?f to eponymous sports entertainer. ”

WWE RAW is set to celebrate it’s 25th anniversary in January 2018. The landmark occasion will feature Superstars from SmackDown Live and RAW, as well as “special appearances by WWE Legends The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash, among others”
However there are 2 live shows of historic significance before the 25th anniversary. For the first time in it’s history, RAW is set to air on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Alongside the likes of The Shield, Kurt Angle, Alexa Bliss, The Bar, Kane, Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt, two others have been revealed to feature.
The first is John Cena, who last appeared as part of the SmackDown Live Survivor Series team that lost to RAW.
Cena is speculated to make an announcement about his participation at 2018’s Royal Rumble, or at least set up a feud to see him into WrestleMania 34. The second superstar who is set to feature is The Miz.
The Miz had previously lost his Intercontinental Championship to Roman Reigns, before leaving to fulfill his commitments to latest Marine film with Becky Lynch and Shaun Michaels. The Christmas Day episode of RAW could see The Miz claim his rematch clause against Reigns, but no plans have been revealed as of yet.
Opinion:
It seems a little pointless for The Miz to claim his rematch on Christmas Day as he is still filming the latest Marine movie. Therefore, if he did claim his rematch, it’s quite obvious that he would not be gaining the title. He could make his intentions clear for the future, like John Cena might, but it’s also important to remember that The Miz is due to become a father which will impact on commitments and priorities.
