Triple H Believes The Rock’s Daughter Will Pursue WWE Career

Triple H discussed the possibility of The Rock’s daughter, Simone, pursuing a WWE career last night on the post-NXT TakeOver: Phoenix media call. It seems he is optimistic she’ll choose sports entertainment as her career path.

“I know she has ‘the bug’ of the business. She caught the love of it from her father,” Triple H said at the post-NXT TakeOver: Phoenix media call. Simone Garcia Johnson is still only 17 years old, however.

“If it’s something that she wants to pursue – I know that he is big, like I am, on continuing education and doing everything the right way,” Triple H continued. “I know he believes it’s a wonderful business. I know he would be proud to have her be a part of (the business). Will you see more of her in the future? It would be hard not to see her in the future.”

Simone Johnson Training At WWE Performance Center

Zelina Vega mentioned on Lillian Garcia’s podcast that Simone currently trains at the Performance Center.

“His daughter Simone and I have become so close,” Vega said. “She’s training now at the Performance Center. She’s like, ‘I want to learn from you.’ She said, ‘I knew that I wanted to start wrestling for sure when I saw you at “Raw” doing the movie (“Fighting with my Family”).'”

Roman Reigns Offers Update On His Condition

Roman Reigns is healing. That’s the message from the multi-time WWE champion as he continues to battle leukemia, which forced him to give up the Universal championship three months ago as he took an indefinite hiatus from the ring.

Reigns made the shocking announcement last October while revealing that he’s been fighting leukemia for the past 11 years.

Unfortunately, Reigns was forced to drop off the active roster while he dealt with his medical situation but the time away from WWE has allowed him to pursue new endeavors.

The latest is an acting role in the upcoming ‘Fast and the Furious’ spinoff film titled ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham.

Reigns updated fans on his current condition while celebrating his role in the upcoming film due out later this year.

“Family healing!” Reigns wrote on Instagram. “I cannot thank my family, friends and my new FAST & FURIOUS FAMILY enough for all the love and support I have received while on this exciting HOBBS & SHAW project. The time I‘ve spent with my cousin on this wonderful island has truly been a healing grace.  I am grateful to the WWE, ‘The Rock’,  Universal Pictures and everyone on the set of “Hobbs and Shaw” for allowing me to be a part of this franchise.

“All of your outreach and support has been a blessing and it’s only pushed me to get back in the ring as soon as possible. But until then…I’m excited for this movie to premiere this summer, our culture and mana in this film is strong!”

Reigns was in the midst of an important run in his career when he was sidelined by health issues.

Obviously he’s continuing the fight outside the ring while staying busy with his new acting career alongside his cousin in the upcoming action film.

“Hobbs and Shaw” directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2) is due out Aug. 2.

Roman Reigns Joins The Cast Of “Hobbs and Shaw” Movie

Roman Reigns is set to make his big screen debut this summer. Reigns has joined the cast of Hobbs and Shaw, the Fast and Furious spinoff movie starring his cousin Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The Rock broke the news on Instagram on Friday. In a message that accompanied two photos of Reigns on set, Rock wrote, “Good times droppin’ sweat and spillin’ blood with my family, @RomanReigns who’ll be playing my brother in our FAST & FURIOUS UNIVERSE. I’m very proud of his focus, effort and authentic performance in our movie for his very first time on film.”

Reigns has been off WWE television since October, when he shocked the world by announcing he is battling a recurrence of leukemia, a blood cancer. Rock also addressed Reigns’ health, saying that he’s inspired by Reigns’ perseverance and humility.

“I’m also very grateful to spend this quality time with my cousin here in the islands as he takes life one day at a time to recover from leukemia,” said The Rock. “His perseverance and humility battling this challenge has inspired our entire family as well as millions around the world in our beloved WWE Universe.”

Hobbs and Shaw hits theaters August 2nd, 2019.

Tessa Blanchard Opens Up On Working With The Rock

Tessa Blanchard is a busy woman.

The third-generation star not only carries Impact Wrestling’s women’s division, but figures to be the centerpiece for WOW as it debuts on AXS TV.

In addition, if you look closely, you just might see Blanchard on the silver screen, as she has a unique role in the upcoming Fighting With My Family, which is set to debut at Sundance.

Blanchard talked about her work in the film on this week’s Jim Ross Report.

“I was the stunt double for Paige,” Blanchard said. “I did all the workouts, all the wrestling, anything athletic as Paige.”

Blanchard tells Jim Ross that the film schedule was grueling, but that it also provided some invaluable experiences.

“We spent about three months out in Los Angeles, then I flew over to the United Kingdom and finished working on the movie there,” said Blanchard.

“It was absolutely amazing, because we had the opportunity to get in the ring and train with The Rock.”

Blanchard had nothing but good things to relate about her time working with one of the biggest movie stars in the world.

“What a patient, down to earth person,” Blanchard said. “He really cares about the finished product, so he takes the time to work on the details with us.”

“It was absolutely special.”

Correction: The Rock Denies He Criticized Milennial “Snowflakes”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson says an interview published by the UK’s Daily Star in which he was quoted criticizing “generation snowflake” is completely fabricated and “100% false.”

According to the Daily Star, The Rock said young people are “looking for a reason to be offended” and disrespect the men and women who have fought and given their lives for freedom and equality. They claim he said, “We thankfully now live in a world that has progressed over the last 30 or 40 years. People can be who they want, be with who they want, and live how they want. That can only be a good thing – but generation snowflake or, whatever you want to call them, are actually putting us backwards.”

On Friday evening, The Rock posted a video on Instagram completely denying he said anything of the sort. “The interview never took place,” he said. “It never happened. I never said any of those words. Completely untrue. 100% fabricated.”

The Rock said it’s not in his nature to criticize a group of people or an entire generation. He encourages empathy, growth and most importantly, everyone’s right to be themselves.

We covered the Daily Star interview, which turned out to be a mistake. We apologize to our readers and to Dwayne Johnson for perpetuating what has turned out to be a false story.

The Rock Says “Generation Snowflake” Is Hurting America

Update: The Rock has vehemently denied he made these comments.

Original Story: 10-time WWE World Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has an issue with today’s “generation snowflake.” “The Great One” recently spoke to the U.K.’s Daily Star to discuss a variety of topics. Johnson has previously teased a possible run for the United States Presidency in the future.

When speaking on the overly sensitive climate we live in today, Rock said that “snowflakes” of this generation are doing a disservice to all the men and women who fought for our freedom of speech:

“So many good people fought for freedom and equality – but this generation are looking for a reason to be offended,” Rock said. “If you are not agreeing with them then they are offended – and that is not what so many great men and women fought for.”

Rock then pointed out that the United States has progressed tremendously over the years. However, “generation snowflake” is actually moving the country backward with their rhetoric:

“That’s democracy,” Johnson said. “We thankfully now live in a world that has progressed over the last 30 or 40 years. People can be who they want, be with who they want, and live how they want. That can only be a good thing – but generation snowflake or, whatever you want to call them, are actually putting us backwards.”

WWE & Politics

The Rock is currently one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. However, the 2020 United States presidential elections are on the horizon. There’s still time for The Rock to officially announce his candidacy for the race. Many former WWE stars have shown a great interest in politics.

WWE Hall Of Famer Jesse Ventura is the former Governor of Minnesota. Glenn “Kane” Jacobs, a former WWE Champion, is the current Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. And, while he may not have been a wrestler, WWE Hall Of Famer Donald Trump is the current President Of The United States.

Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon serves in his administration as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration.

What do you make of Rock’s comments on “generation snowflake”?

John Cena Discusses Receiving Advice From The Rock

In 2012 and 2013, John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson were featured in the top match at WrestleMania 28 in Miami, Florida then the next year at WrestleMania 29.

They traded wins with both men having victories over each other with the final match seeing Cena win the WWE Title from Rock in New Jersey.

Part of the reason that this feud was such a big success financially for the WWE was due to the verbal exchange in promos while leading up these matches. It all came down to viewpoints as Cena wanted Rock to make more WWE appearances than he had been due to his successful career in Hollywood.

Cena recently spoke with The Sports Daily about various topics including any advice The Rock gave him. This is when he stated that Rock has been genuine enough to tell him that he needed to be himself and thinks that was great advice as it came right at a time when he needed it as he had been doing some movies before that weren’t really successful.

“The reason I was doing those movies was trying to create a business model. Then I looked back at myself and realized I just like telling stories. He gave me some pretty cool advice at unbelievable timing. He said: ‘Hey man, they’re going to like you, or hate you, for you. Be yourself. At least that way at the end of the day you’ll feel good about your body of work.'”

Reason Why The Rock Never Worked With Shawn Michaels

The Rock and Shawn Michaels are one of the biggest names in the professional wrestling industry, both having a decorated and illustrious career. Even though they worked in the WWE together, we never got to see a match between them, and since Rock has moved on from wrestling and Michaels has retired, it is safe to say that it will never happen.

On this Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked a question from fan on this topic. Apparently, there were some problems in the dressing room between Rock and Michaels that started in the ’80s.

“There was a time when the Midnight Rockers were on a show in Hawaii and Rock’s grandmother was the promoter and I guess there were problems in the dressing room and Rock wanted to beat up Shawn. I think Shawn was acting like a d*ck,” said Meltzer.

Later in the WWF when Rock started gaining popularity Michaels was one of the people who didn’t want him to succeed, to protect Triple H. After The Rock started reaching heights in the company, he didn’t want to work with Shawn Michaels.

“Hunter and Rock were vying for the same spot. A lot of people saw that Rock had a lot of friends and he had a lot of potential. They wanted to make sure that he didn’t get there and he was smart enough to see that it happened. When he got to where he was a really big star, he didn’t want to work with him.”

Meltzer also revealed how Michaels was trying to get Mick Foley to take Rock’s place in the WrestleMania 15 match against Steve Austin. And it was not because they wanted Foley to succeed, it was pretty much only because they didn’t want The Rock in that match.

Paige Biopic ‘Fighting With My Family’ Delayed

It appears the theatrical release for the Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s new movie, ‘Fighting With My Family’ has been delayed. It is now reported to be releasing on Thursday, February 21st as opposed to the original date of Friday, February 8th.

The movie will be premiering in both New York and Los Angeles on Thursday, February 14th.

Focusing on the real-life story of current WWE SmackDown General Manager, Paige and her family of pro wrestlers, it documents her journey from wrestling for British independents to trying out for, and eventually signing to, WWE.

Paige is played by Florence Pugh, with Tessa Blanchard acting as her in-ring stunt double. Zelina Vega also appears in the movie as ex-WWE Divas Champion, AJ Lee. Nick Frost and Lena Headey also star, cast as Paige’s parents.

Although produced by The Rock, his role in the actual movie is limited to cameo status.

Fighting With My Family

The Rock recently released a new poster for the movie which features Paige, her family, and himself outside a house. The Rock, in particular, looks a little out of place in the poster when contrasted with the family.

He accompanied it with some kind words, promoting the movie:

“New poster for our lil’ crazy comedy based on the true story of @WWE’s @RealPaigeWWE & her wrestling family. Honor for me to play a small part in Paige’s career defining moment, as well as bringing her family’s story to the big screen. #FightingWithMyFamily @SevenBucksProd”

Are you looking forward to watching this movie? Do you think it will live up to expectations?

Update On Rumored Wrestlemania 35 Match

As we gear up towards The Road To Wrestlemania, rumors of what will be eventually hosted at WWE’s mega show are invariably going to begin circulating.

One such rumor revolves around a projected match between Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson squaring up against Roman Reigns.

The supposed plan was to have The Rock enter and win the 2019 Royal Rumble. The Brahma Bull would then challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at Wrestlemania 35 in New Jersey. These plans, however, were reportedly scuppered once Reigns sadly announced his renewed battle with leukemia.

According to Dave Meltzer, that report was completely unsubstantiated. He proceeded to shut it down on the F4WOnline Message Board. When asked about these apparent plans, Meltzer admitted that it sounded false, claiming that it “[…] didn’t sound believable.” After checking with a source, he confirmed that “[This rumor is] Not true at all.”

The Rock hasn’t performed in a main event capacity for the company since his feud with John Cena in 2013. This would culminate in a showdown between the two at Wrestlemania 29 where Cena would win back the WWE Championship.

He did, however, have a minor role at Wrestlemania 32, setting a Wrestlemania record for the fastest victory in ‘Mania history, pinning Erick Rowan in an impromptu match in only six seconds.

Would you have liked to have seen this match go down? Who do you think would have won, if it had?

First Look At The Rock’s “The Titan Games” Series (Video)

The first look at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s new NBC television show, The Titan Games, has been released. The series is slated to premiere on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 8 p.m. ET.

It was described by NBC as “Dwayne Johnson presents and stars in The Titan Games, a groundbreaking new athletic competition based on Dwayne’s belief that within each and every one of us is the potential for greatness.”

The former WWE Champion is slated to serve as the host and one of the executive producers of the 10-episode series. It was noted in the trailer that he calls it, “the biggest, most electrifying athletic competition series ever.” You can see the first look at it here:

The winners of these challenges will then face each other on Mount Olympus and eventually in the battle of the titans for the chance at the $100,000 grand prize. This marks The Rock’s first competition show to air on NBC.

“I wanted this show to be a reflection of my passions,” Johnson said when talking about the series once it was announced. “Every challenge these competitors will face is inspired by the workouts that have fueled me, the struggles I’ve experienced and the disciplines I believe in.”

Journalist Calls Out The Rock Over Old Saudi Arabia Post, The Rock Responds

A lot of superstars related to WWE have commented on the recent Saudi Arabia controversy and the Rock is the latest celebrity who has been dragged into this conversation.

About 6 months ago, the Rock had dinner with Saudi’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and he posted on Instagram about it, calling it a fascinating experience.

CNN reporter Oliver Darcy uncovered this old post recently and took on his Twitter account to blast the Great One, saying that this post did not age well:

The former World Champion responded to this tweet from Darcy, saying that it’s a silly and clickbait post and that he should go back and read his words:

Oliver was quick to respond to this tweet and he came up with a tweet blaming the Rock of playing a role in Salman’s PR campaign and asking if his views have changed with time:

The post in question is before the controversy over the missing journalist went international so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the former WWE Star releases a statement clearing his views soon, though so far he hasn’t responded to Darcy’s latest tweet.

We are also waiting for WWE to take a decision on their upcoming Crown Jewel event scheduled to take place in the country on 2nd November, and we’ll keep you posted on any development in the situation.

The Undertaker Rehabilitating Knees (Photos)

NeuFit physical fitness company recently posted some rare photos of the Undertaker from their Instagram account, revealing that the Dead Man has been rehabilitating chronic knee pain with electrical stimulation therapy for the past few months.

According to them, while the former World Champion doesn’t normally allow photos while rehabbing, he was so thrilled with the result that he happily posed for this pic:

The Rock On Studying Scott Hall

Saturday was a milestone birthday for the WWE Hall Of Famer and NWO member Scott Hall who turned 60 years old. He received a lot of wishes from various people related to the wrestling world on the occasion and one them was from none other than the Rock.

The Great One made a tweet where he wished the former WWE Star and stated that he often studied Hall’s matches while competing in the Memphis, Tennessee as part of the United States Wrestling Association in 1996:

https://twitter.com/SCOTTHALLNWO/status/1053945553606840325?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

The Rock and Scott Hall feuded once in 2002 when NWO was up against him and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Though they only had one televised one on one match during a SmackDown episode in March which ended in no contest.

The Rock Congratulates WWE On SmackDown 1000, Torrie Wilson On Evolution Announcement

The Rock Congratulates WWE On SmackDown 1000

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took to his official Twitter account where he congratulated the WWE for the big milestone of 1000 episodes of SmackDown since the show started back in 1999. He wrote the following:

“Huge #SD1000 congrats to my @WWE family! Fun fact, in 1998, I said to @VinceMcMahon “I’m gonna use the word ‘Smackdown’ tonight in my promo”. He said what’s that mean? I said it means I’m gonna whup some ass. He belly laughed and said say it! The rest was history! #IfYaSmell”

Torrie Wilson On Evolution Announcement

The Rock To Star In New Netflix Film, Kane Set To Appear At SmackDown 1000

Former WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Netflix announced on Tuesday that he will start in a film called “John Henry and The Statesmen” that is currently in pre-production. The details are still sketchy but it will see him work with the director of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Jake Kasdan, again and that Johnson will star as the titular folk hero. Rock posted the following:

“Inspired to bring to life one of my childhood heroes, John Henry, in JOHN HENRY & THE STATESMEN. “In this movie, I’ll lead an ensemble of the most popular folklore figures and legends from different cultures around the world. @NETFLIX is the perfect partner & platform to bring these global folklore icons to life,” Rock said in part of his statement.

Elias Calls Out Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

Everybody’s favourite ex-Drifter, Elias has made no secret about wanting the opportunity to share the ring with The Great One, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

In a recent interview, he reiterated this sentiment, once again slandering The Rock and The Brahma Bull’s musical abilities.

When asked if he derived any inspiration from The Rock, Elias responded, “No inspiration whatsoever. I’ve stated this before, The Rock he did do this – he would play guitar and things like that in a way. And he would do cover songs on Monday Night Raw, but guess what? I’m doing original music every single week, man. I’ve got an album out with all original songs – written, performed by me.”

He would go on to explain his evident frustrations, stating, “[…] people make comparisons, and maybe it’s because of how the crowd is, y’know? I’ve got my catchphrases with ‘Walk with Elias,’ things like that. The thing is, The Rock cannot do what I do. So when I hear these comparisons, I just get worked up about it, you know what I mean?”

Elias couldn’t help but admit that “[…] he’s doing great things. He’s out in Hollywood, he’s killing it out there and he obviously killed it when he was here, but times have changed.”

“It’s different now. Elias is the biggest and best thing going in WWE, and if The Rock – will we share a ring? He knows where to find me. I’ve told him. I’ve called him out a few times. Rock, you know exactly where to find me. On my show, Monday Night Raw. If you want to walk with Elias, come on out.”

Would you like to see an Elias/Rock confrontation? If you do, would you prefer in-ring competition or a musical smackdown?

WWE Wants The Rock To Bring It At SmackDown 1000

The WWE has been busy putting plans in place for their SmackDown 1000, which takes place October 16th in Washington D.C. They have already announced a stellar amount of talent will be present and returning. Rey Mysterio, The Undertaker, and the entirety of Evolution (including Batista) are all scheduled to be at the show.

One name on that list, however, is the man who helped popularize the word that would become the name of the show itself: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Locked Down In London

According to Dave Meltzer, the WWE are working hard, trying to secure an appearance by “The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment” at their landmark event.

It’s worth noting, however, that The Rock is currently in London with Jason Statham, filming ‘Hobbs & Shaw’, a spin-off to the mega-successful ‘Fast & Furious’ movie franchise. The movie is currently slated to release on July 26th 2019.

With that in mind, unless an appearance doesn’t conflict with any sort of scheduling commitment, it might be difficult, if not impossible, for The Brahma Bull to finally return home to the blue brand come October 16th.

Double Main Event

The current card for that night’s historic SmackDown event is being advertised with a double main event (as per the Capitol One Arena website):

  • AJ Styles & Daniel Bryan vs. Samoa Joe & The Miz
  • Charlotte Flair, Asuka & Naomi vs. Becky Lynch, and The Iiconics (Peyton Royce & Billie Kay)

The card is, naturally, subject to change. AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz, and Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton were originally scheduled but have subsequently been altered.

Natalya On What The Rock Said To Her After Her Father Died

Natalya, Nia Jax, and Lana recently appeared on “Good Day New York” on Fox 5 to help promote Total Divas. During the interview, the topic of Natalya’s father Jim “the Anvil” Neidhart was discussed. Natalya mentioned that Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson reached out to her through Nia Jax (Rock’s cousin) and said some inspirational words to her following her father’s death.

“He reached out to me — he actually gave me powerful words of just not really having to say goodbye,” Natalya said. “He goes ‘you don’t have to say goodbye to your dad. You can have him with you forever.’”

Natalya Says Goodbye to the Anvil

Natalya also mentioned the family was not prepared for Jim’s untimely death.

“He was definitely going through some health issues but it wasn’t anything that was gonna take his life. For us, it was finding the right way to say goodbye.”

It was also revealed during their appearance on the show that Natalya’s father will appear in the upcoming season of Total Divas.

Shortly after Jim Neidhart’s death on August 13th, Natalya released a statement on what her father meant to her.

“There was no one like him! I’m just gonna miss him so much,” a segment of Natalya’s statement reads. “We are going to hold all of the moments we had with him close to our hearts forever and never let them go. I promise to keep your memory alive. We love you so much, Daddy!”

The Rock’s Daughter Training At WWE Performance Center

The Rock’s daughter, Simone Johnson, has previously expressed interest in pursuing a career in wrestling. According to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, the 17-year-old already attends training sessions at the WWE Performance Center.

Simone spoke to the Hollywood Reporter last year about wanting to pursue a career in wrestling. “It’s a sport that is unlike anything else in the world,” she said. “There’s just a certain amount of passion that every move and match requires, and that’s so admirable. It’s definitely something I’ve thought about and want to pursue.”

Simone Johnson and The Rock

Simone Johnson was named Golden Globes ambassador last year. When asked, however, she stressed a career in film isn’t something she’s currently interested in pursuing.

“As much as I love and admire the film industry,” she continued. “I don’t see myself pursuing a career in it at the moment. I plan to study business in college — NYU, hopefully — and after graduating, I want to pursue wrestling and eventually transition into talent management.”

In other family news, Simone Johnson’s Grandfather, Rocky Johnson, will be featured in a biopic on his life. The movie will be titled “Ring King”. There is no word on a release date or if any other members of the family will be involved, however.

The Rock On HBO Renewing Ballers, WWE Story Time Episode Airing After RAW

The Rock On HBO Renewing Ballers

We noted earlier this week that HBO announced that the company decided to renew “Ballers” for a fifth season. Former WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a producer and lead actor for the show that is currently in the middle of its fourth season.

Rock took to his official Instagram account to react to the news by writing the following:

“HBO’s #1 highest rated show (30min) for years now is officially back – for SEASON 5. Thank you to my great partners at @HBO for circling up our wagons one more time and renewing @ballershbo for a 5th straight season. Most importantly, THANK YOU FANS worldwide for rockin’ with us and being the driving force behind our success. The WWE Network has updated its schedule for this coming week where it was revealed that the streaming service of the WWE will be airing a new episode of Story Time after this Monday’s episode of RAW. Here is the synopsis for the show:

“This collection of stories includes WWE Superstars and Legends recalling their first step into unchartered waters, including Dolph Ziggler’s early character struggles, Jake Roberts’ problems with nationally televised broadcasts, and Cesaro’s debut in a dive bar. These tales shed some light on rough first days and not-so-nice new beginnings, from Chris Jericho’s first night in Madison Square Garden, to Paul Heyman’s early days riding with Rick Rude!”

The Rock Congratulates Cody On NWA Championship Win

Hollywood megastar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has congratulated Cody on winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Of course, Cody’s big victory came at Saturday night’s big All In pay-per-view from Chicago. Rhodes defeated Nick Aldis in a thrilling contest that delivered one of the most memorable moments of an emotionally charged weekend.

Although we haven’t seen The Rock on WWE television in some time, People’s Champ still follows pro wrestling, as evidenced by his social media activity. The Rock addressed the “real legacy” of the NWA World Championship that Cody is now a part of and told Cody that Dusty is looking down and smiling “BIG!”

Cody thanked The Rock for paving the road for him and his peers. Cody and The Rock have more in common than meets the eye. In addition to having fathers who were wrestling superstars, both men have ventured into acting and both have expressed an interest in political careers.

The Rock Favored To Win Royal Rumble 2019

Former WWE Superstar turned Hollywood heavyweight Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is currently favored to win the 2019 Royal Rumble match, according to early betting odds.

Several weeks ago, there was a report by the Wrestling Observer that stated, “There has been talk of Rock being interested in wrestling at Mania this year. If there’s no schedule conflict, it would be expected he’d make an appearance in some form at the show.”

Since then, WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins has gone on record saying he doesn’t think WWE needs The Rock at WrestleMania.

Skybet has released early betting odds for next year’s WWE PPV, and the People’s Champion is currently favored to win Royal Rumble as a 2/1 favorite.

Former SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan follows him with 6/1 odds. Seth Rollins (8/1) and Braun Strowman (9/1) are then the #3, and #4 in the line. Roman Reigns, John Cena and Finn Balor all have 12/1 odds.

It’s worth mentioning here that in a recent interview with Cathy Kelley, the former World Champion had shown interest in returning to the wrestling ring. When she asked him about a potential WWE return, The Rock said that he “can’t wait to get back to a WWE ring” and he always tells people that there is nothing like inside there.

The 46 year old Rock has not wrestled since WrestleMania 32, when he defeated Eric Rowan in an impromptu match. Prior to that, the last high-profile match was against John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 29.

Do you expect we will see The Rock wrestle another match for WWE over the next year?
