WWE issued the following statement tonight regarding The Rock’s return to RAW on November 14th. This 3-hour RAW will take place from Boston’s TD Garden and will be the final show before Survivor Series that weekend:
Finally, The Rock(R) Returns to Boston
STAMFORD, Conn., Oct 11, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) — WWE(R) announced today that “the most electrifying man in entertainment,” The Rock, will return to the city of Boston at the TD Garden on Monday, November 14 for a special three hour Raw(R) SuperShow that will air live on USA Network at 8 PM ET/7 PM CT.
What will happen when “The People’s Champion” The Rock and John Cena(R) meet in Cena’s hometown in their first face-to-face encounter since the spring? Ever since the announcement of the epic main event of Rock vs. Cena at WrestleMania(R) XXVIII on April 1, 2012, the two Superstars have engaged in a war of words. Can these two Superstars get along six days before they team up at Survivor Series(R)?
Tickets for the special Raw SuperShow are available at the TD Garden Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com , or by calling 1-800-745-3000. The live event portion of the show has a special start time of 7:15 PM.
— WWE’s next three-hour Raw event takes place November 14 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts and The Rock is advertised to appear. The venue’s official website is billing the event as “The Rock Reunion Party.”
The website’s advertising reads: “What will happen when the seven-time WWE Champion, “the most electrifying man in all of entertainment” The Rock and ten-time WWE Champion John Cena meet in Cena’s hometown?”
Also advertised for the event is a Six-Man Tag Team Match pitting John Cena, Triple H and CM Punk against The Miz, R-Truth and Alberto Del Rio.

– The ratings are in for Monday’s post-Hell in a Cell RAW Supershow – and WWE is back above the 3.0 mark. The 10/3 edition of RAW drew a 3.05 cable rating, with 4,270,000 viewers. The show did hours of 2.95 and 3.14.
– The Rock is being advertised on the radio for the next 3-hour WWE RAW Supershow on November 14th from Boston. This will be the go-home show before Survivor Series.
– WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio is backstage at tonight’s Smackdown tapings from Biloxi, MS and is scheduled to appear on Smackdown. No word yet on what he’ll be doing.
– WWE recently filed for several new trademarks. The first is for the phrase, “Suntan Super Man” – which was R-Truth’s nickname back in TNA. With R-Truth’s “Little Jimmy” gimmick (a Vince McMahon creation) getting over this year and his recent alignment with former WWE champion The Miz, it appears Truth will remain one of the top featured performers on WWE television in the coming months.
The other trademarks filed are for Sin Cara- namely, his masks. WWE just secured trademarks for black, white and gold Sin Cara masks, so either the original Sin Cara is getting new masks or we could see even more Sin Caras in WWE.
– The Rock is training hard for his WWE return match at Survivor Series – his first match since WrestleMania 20 (which also took place from MSG). Rock posted the following photo of himself delivering a Rock Bottom to some unknown jabronie with the caption:

He then declared a match this Sunday at Hell in a Cell to decide who has the right to be called Sin Cara.
The official WWE website confirmed Friday evening that The Rock will be returning to the squared circle at the Survivor Series on November 20. He will be participating in a Traditional 5-on-5 Tag Team Match at the show.
Their statement reads: “WWE sources have confirmed that The Rock and John Cena will be a part of a Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Tag Team Match.”
The Rock indicated earlier in the day on Facebook that he would be aligning with Cena at the Survivor Series as he posted the promotional poster for the event with the headline reading: “The Rock and John Cena Join Forces. Never Before. Never Again.”
The Rock announced today on Facebook that he and John Cena will be joining forces at WWE Survivor Series on November 20th from New York City’s Madison Square Garden:
“I’m not waiting til Wrestlemania 28…
I’m coming to Survivor Series in November and ELECTRIFYING New York City like never before!
TEAM BRING IT – BOOTS TO ASSES.”
The recently released WWE Survivor Series Video Promo stated that The Rock would be in the house – but now it appears The Rock will actually be getting back in the ring. As reported here earlier this week, WWE has been pushing very hard to get The Rock to wrestle at Survivor Series.
Rock also posted a new version of the Survivor Series pay-per-view poster which reads, “The Rock and John Cena Join Forces: Never Before, Never Again.”
WWE officials are reportedly trying very hard to get The Rock to wrestle at Survivor Series in November.
Original plans called for The Rock to appear at the 25th anniversary show and participate in some sort of angle, but not wrestle until WrestleMania 28.
Something has changed in the past 2 weeks and now WWE is ready to jump the gun and give away Rock’s in-ring return 6 months before his showdown with John Cena next April.
As previously reported, there has been talk of doing a best of 3 series between Rock and Cena.
Whether or not The Rock will wrestle at Survivor Series has been a controversial topic behind the scenes in WWE this past week.
WWE posted the following statement on Twitter regarding the sell-out, noting that fans should keep trying the Ticketmaster website because new tickets will be made available in the coming weeks:
“In less than 90 minutes, the WWE Universe sold out this year’s Survivor Series. The 25th anniversary of the event, being held at New York City’s famous Madison Square Garden, will feature an appearance from John Cena’s WrestleMania XXVIII opponent, The Rock. Fifteen years after making his electrifying WWE debut at Survivor Series, The People’s Champion returns to MSG for the first time in eight years!”
The Rock also commented on his Twitter:
“Get ready: @WWE – Survivor Series sold out in 30 min! I promise to ELECTRIFY MSG like never before. #TeamBringIt”

As we’ve been reporting, local ads in New York are promoting that The Rock will be “returning to action” at Survivor Series. For the latest on whether this means he’ll actually be wrestling, check out:
As we’ve been reporting here on SEScoops.com this week, it’s being advertised in New York City that The Rock will be “returning to action” at WWE Survivor Series in November.
According to one of our WWE sources, contrary to what’s being advertised, The Rock is not currently scheduled to wrestle at Survivor Series. Expect The Rock to be heavily involved in the show and somehow get physically involved with John Cena, but he won’t be wrestling.
WWE is treating Survivor Series as the “kickoff” to the build towards WrestleMania 28. It’s been stated in recent months by both The Rock and Vince McMahon that Rock will be appearing at “several” upcoming WWE PPVs – including the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber.
The Figure Four Weekly Newsletter reports that there has been talk of doing a best-of-three series between The Rock and John Cena. It’s not official yet, but there’s a chance we’ll see Rock vs. Cena at WrestleMania and then two more post-Mania PPVs, including SummerSlam 2012 in Los Angeles.
A pre-sale event for the Survivor Series takes place tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. ET. The password for the pre-sale is “CENAROCK” at TheGarden.com.
Advertising for the show reads: “The People’s Champion-The Rock returns to action for the first time in 8 years to join John Cena and all your favorite WWE Superstars at “Survivor Series.”
Despite the vague wording in the advertisement, The Rock is not scheduled to wrestle on the show.
The Rock recently announced that he’ll be appearing at several upcoming WWE pay-per-views, including November’s Survivor Series show from New York City.
Advertisements in the New York City area for tickets to the Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden feature The Rock and say he is “returning to action” for the first time in 8 years alongside John Cena.
The Rock last competed in March 2004 at Wrestlemania XX, where he and Mick Foley lost a Handicap Match to Randy Orton, Batista and Ric Flair.
At this time, its unknown whether The Rock will actually be wrestling, or if “returning to action” is a vague phrase being used to simply mean The Rock will be there in person.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson went on Twitter over the weekend and spoke about his return to WWE, his feud with John Cena, appearing at Survivor Series in November and more. Here are some highlights of what The Rock said about:
His Return To WWE & His Feud With John Cena –
“A few years ago when Cena – inexplicably – started talking trash publicly, I knew then I could turn this into a…massive main event. One that could elevate the WWE to unprecedented heights. The timing had to be right though.”
“Wrestlemania 27: for me and the fans – the time was right. The build to Wrestlemania 28 will be like nothing the world…has ever seen before. The match itself will be historic.”
Why He’s Not Interested In The WWE Championship –
“I didn’t come back to the WWE to become champion again. I came back for these reasons: entertain the fans like no one else can. Elevate the WWE to new heights never seen before…Challenge and mentor some of the younger talent. Give the millions what they want which is to kick John Cena’s f’n ass.”
What He Meant When He Said He Would “Never Leave WWE Again” –
“I never meant to mislead or confuse the fans and I apologize if I did. The overall goal was to make…huge impact and elevate Wrestlemania. Shoot my movie commitments, then return again as soon as I wrap the film…and help elevate the WWE and the overall business of professional wrestling. Survivor Series, Mania etc.”

2222w- Earlier this week it was announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and television/Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer will be working with NBC to create a new drama series based on the professional wrestling industry during the 1980’s. To follow up on that story – the pilot that will be filmed will be a “put pilot” – which means NBC has contractually agreed to air at least the pilot once it is produced. Typically, a show getting a ‘put pilot’ is a strong indication the show will be picked up for a full season.
The Rock wrote the following on Twitter about the show on Wednesday night:
“Kickin’ Ass! Excited to partner up w @BruckheimerJB & @NBC to create 1980’s wrestling TV drama.”
– WWE has signed Sterling James Keenan (real name Matthew Polinsky from Pittsburgh, PA) to a developmental contract. He’s been working in FCW since last week.
– Wade Barrett beat WWE developmental wrestler Bo Rotundo in a dark match at Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be teaming with television and Hollywood mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer on a new television project based on professional wrestling industry during the 1980’s.
Johnson and Bruckheimer, along with Jonathan Littman (CSI) will be Executive Producing the fictional 1-hour drama series.
According to the Deadline.com and the Hollywood Reporter, Jerry Bruckheimer Television in association with Warner Bros. Television have already sold the drama series to NBC, which will help produce the poliot episode.
This is absolutely huge news for The Rock, who has already established himself as a bankable leading man in Hollywood. Working behind the scenes on a major television project with Jerry Bruckheimer is going to further establish Rock as a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry.
When WWE announced its second quarter financial results last week, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon announced that The Rock will be appearing at “multiple” pay-per-view events aside from WrestleMania 28.
The Rock announced last month that he’ll be appearing at the 25th anniversary of Survivor Series in November to confront John Cena, who he will wrestle at WrestleMania 28.
Aside from those events – WWE is planning for The Rock to appear at next year’s Royal Rumble and SummerSlam events, as long as his movie schedule allows it.
WWE was very pleased with The Rock’s impact on WrestleMania 27 drawing over $28 million for the company and are hoping to book him on as many big shows as possible over the next year.
WWE Champion John Cena has responded to rumors of his scheduled match with The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII being in jeopardy. A fan asked Cena on Twitter, “Any truth to the rumours that a top WWE exec wants your match with The Rock removed from the WM 28 card?”
Cena denied the report, indicating that his dream match with The Rock will still take place as scheduled:
“none at all. That match needs to happen. If they kick us out we will fight.in parking lot.”
The rumor is attributed to the Wrestling Observer, as they reported last week that a high-ranking executive with great influence over Vince McMahon is lobbying for the match in Rock’s hometown of Miami, Florida to be canceled.
The executive is said to be concerned that WWE’s premiere star, Cena, will be heavily booed during the biggest show of the year.
What do you think – with the amount of hype WWE has already invested in Cena-Rock, could they get away with not delivering? COMMENT BELOW and tell us what you think.
WWE Champion John Cena answered some fan questions on Twitter yesterday about his WrestleMania 28 opponent The Rock. Here are some highlights about what Cena said about:
Which Man Is Stronger:
“No shorting the Rock for all of his abilities …but I can say with confidence, I am stronger than him. That does not make me better, just stronger. So don’t go and take that out of context. He is much quicker and probally a better overall athlete, but strength belongs 2 me.”
The Rock Insulting John Cena’s Fans:
“I don’t get that part. He can call me anything and everything he wants…I just don’t get that part.”
Whether He Thinks The Rock Is Gay:
“That is the last one I will answer because of how ridiculous it is. My answer. Why should it matter? No take it as is. Why should a persons sexuality matter? He is a great entertainer. I will admit. I have made some mistakes in the past but I now realize that it shouldn’t matter what race creed color sexual preference age u are. If your good. You’re good. Trying to pick something like that as a persons flaw is about the most ignorant thing that can be done. Don’t be that person. Step your game up. So it IS what it IS. Gay or straight. To quote “Dwayne”, “it doesn’t matter!””
