WWE x Celebrity Family Feud Episode Airs 8/20 on ABC

Several WWE superstars (and one former talent) are the next contestants on Celebrity Family Feud. The latest WWE installment of the show airs this Tuesday, August 20, on ABC at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT and will also stream on Hulu. The episode features men vs. women, with Bobby Lashley, The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford), Austin Theory, and LA Knight taking on Mia Yim, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, Zelina Vega, and Sonya Deville.

The episode was taped back on April 13. At the time, Lashley was in a faction with The Street Profits as The Pride and was coming off a win over The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Akam & Rezar) at WrestleMania 40 on April 7. His last televised match was a loss alongside Santos Escobar to LA Knight in a triple-threat match on the April 12 episode of Friday Night Smackdown.

Another notable example of the episode being taped is that Theory is pictured with the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship. He and his partner Grayson Waller would lose the titles to DIY(Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) during Friday Night Smackdown on July 12.

The upcoming Celebrity Family Feud will give fans a different look at the WWE superstars outside the ring as they compete to answer the right questions. However, Lashley’s appearance in the episode will remind wrestling viewers that he is no longer with the company and put a spotlight on him as he enters free agency.

Bobby Lashley’s Next Moves

Lashley’s contract with WWE expired on August 16. He and his former Hurt Business ally, MVP, were moved to the company’s alumni section. In an Instagram post on the day of his WWE departure, Lashley shared a video of him working out with the caption,

“Every day is a new opportunity to push the limits and show the world what you are made of. I’ve got so much fight left in me, and I’m just getting started.”

Both are currently available to sign with any promotion with the expectation by fans that they will work together. It was also revealed that a company linked to MVP named Totally Harmless Concept, LLC, recently registered the trademark The Hurt Syndicate. Lashley is dealing with an arm injury but has openly shared that he wants to continue his wrestling career.

Time will tell who Lashley will compete for next. However, his appearance on Celebrity Family Feud gives him more exposure as he navigates free agency.

WWE Star Angelo Dawkins Gets Married In Wedding Officiated By Montez Ford

Angelo Dawkins is now a married man.

WWE superstar Angelo Dawkins recently had a wedding to remember. The former WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champion married the mother of his child, Grace, and shared the news on X. However, what made it more special is the involvement of his longtime tag team partner Montez Ford who officiated the wedding.

Dawkins shared a photo of himself and Grace making their vows on social media to celebrate their union. Former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Bianca Belair was also in attendance, and both couples took a group photo.

On Instagram, Belair shared a nice message about the lovely couple’s marriage.

“Dawks got a WHOLE WIFE!!!!! All those car ride talks can finally come to an end! You did it! Congrats!!!… you’re a lucky man to get @gracestephanie01 and now a smart man to wife her up! Lol,” wrote Belair.

The newlywed couple welcomed a son in 2020 and expect to welcome another boy later this year. It’s possible that Dawkins and his wife wanted to get married before their son’s arrival. Regardless, it’s surely a special moment in their lives, with Dawkins’s tag team partner being the one to make it official.

It’s unclear if Dawkins will take some time off for a honeymoon with his wife. However, he will be in action with his tag team partner to take on Pretty Deadly(Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) on the July 5 episode of Friday Night Smackdown.

Preview Of The Street Profits vs. Pretty Deadly

The upcoming tag team matchup was made on the June 28 Smackdown episode. The Street Profits spoke with Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis about wanting to take on The Bloodline. The heel faction had assaulted Dawkins, Ford, and Kevin Owens after their loss on the June 7 episode of Smackdown.

However, Pretty Deadly would interrupt their conversation, leading to The Street Profits challenging them to a match. Aldis ignored the former tag champion’s pleas to take on The Bloodline but made The Street Profits vs. Pretty Deadly official for the upcoming episode.

Dawkins and Ford will likely be motivated to defeat their opponents to send a message to The Bloodline. A win over Pretty Deadly could persuade Aldis to grant them a match against the faction led by Solo Sikoa.

Factions of Bobby Lashley & Karrion Kross Get Confirmed New Names

Faction warfare is set to unfold on WWE SmackDown with the groups led by Bobby Lashley and Karrion Kross both getting names this week.

Last year, Lashley returned to WWE programming and immediately aligned himself with the Street Profits. The faction has proven to be a force to be reckoned with on SmackDown though have so far been unable to capture championship gold so far. The All Mighty is seeking to bring out a new level of aggression from Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins.

Bobby Lashley’s Faction Name

Before this week’s SmackDown, it was reported that The Pride was the expected name of Lashley’s faction. On Twitter, Lashley confirmed this new name for the group, as he stated in his Twitter bio that he was the leader of The Pride. Interestingly though, Lashley would change his bio shortly after to remove all references to The Pride. His bio currently reads as:

#SmackDown’s All-Mighty | Former WWE Champion. MMA Fighter | Professional Wrestler | Business Professional | Nutrabolics Athlete

Karrion Kross’ New Faction

Lashley’s faction didn’t confirm its new name on this week’s SmackDown, but Karrion Kross’ group did. On last week’s Smackdown, Kross and the returning AOP attacked Lashley, while Scarlett and Paul Ellering watched on.

During this week’s show, Lashley called out AOP and Kross but only received Ellering. The legendary manager pointed to the titantron where a video promo from Kross played. In it, the two-time former WWE NXT Champion confirmed his group’s name as The Final Testament.

Things didn’t go exactly according to plan during this week’s SmackDown…

WWE Superstars Share Their New Year’s Resolutions for 2024

2024 is drawing near and with it, so does the possibility for a fresh start for the Superstars of WWE.

Last year proved to be a year of massive change for WWE, with the biggest being the acquisition of WWE by Endeavor and the launch of TKO Group Holdings. 2023 also saw returns, releases, heel turns and a certain Tribal Chief continuing his dominant reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

So what’s next? Well here are some of the New Year’s Resolutions from the Superstars of WWE.

Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair lost the WWE Women’s Championship to IYOY SKY at SummerSlam, mere moments after capturing the gold at the same event. On last week’s SmackDown, Belair admitted she doesn’t usually make resolutions, but vowed to recapture the title and remain undefeated at WrestleMania.

Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits

On the show, Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits resolved that they will have “more” in 2024. Lashley added that the new year will not just be good for his faction, but it’ll be “All Mighty.”

Grayson Waller & Austin Theory

Grayson Waller & Austin Theory have impressed those backstage as a tag-team. On SmackDown, the pair said that winning singles and tag titles are their goals for 2024. Theory added that he wants to win the Royal Rumble while Waller plans on headlining WrestleMania.

Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio has a simple resolution for 2024: to get Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar.

Trish Stratus

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has shared her big plans for the New Year. After competing in 10 matches in 2023, the seven-time Women’s Champion plans to be back in the ring once again in 2024

Carmelo Hayes is Open to Talking “Business” with Bobby Lashley & His Faction

WWE NXT Superstar Carmelo Hayes isn’t actively seeking a role in Bobby Lashley’s faction, but that doesn’t mean he’ll never join.

Earlier this year, Lashley returned to WWE programming and immediately aligned himself with the Street Profits. The faction has proven to be a force to be reckoned with on SmackDown though have so far been unable to capture championship gold so far.

Carmelo Hayes On Possibly Joining Lashley

With Lashley and the Profits making waves, many have been speculating on who could join the group. Odyssey Jones had been considered for the group, though all plans for him to join have seemingly been dropped

Carmelo Hayes is another name that fans have discussed as a possible addition. It was in March that Hayes shared a photo with the Profits and Lashley’s old Hurt Business ally MVP. Speaking to Vibe, Hayes discussed possibly joining the All Mighty and the Profits.

“Shoot, that’d be cool. Right now I’m so focused on what I got going on here in NXT. It’s going to take a lot more than just showing up and dapping me up to get me over there. I’m not thirsty for any membership. If they want me, they can holler at me and we can talk business. Respect to them, because they’re my brothers for real.”

Hayes also spoke about the importance of black Superstars and learning from people of color who have become major players.

“I feel like every Black wrestler that I’ve met has just shown so much love. Like Booker T, even Big E, just from top to bottom. It’s just like an unspoken camaraderie in a lot of ways. Booker for example, he wants the best for all talent, but Black talent as well. Booker T’s has been a huge advocate for helping with my progress.”

Earlier this year, Lashley shared a segment with Hayes and Trick Williams on SmackDown, as seen in the clip below.

Angelo Dawkins: The Street Profits Will Never Betray Each Other

The Street Profits will be sticking together for the long term according to recent comments made by Angelo Dawkins.

The team, consisting of Dawkins and Montez Ford, debuted on a March 2016 edition of WWE NXT, and has been a team ever since.

The Street Profits are one of three teams to have held the NXT, Raw, and SmackDown Tag Team Championships (the others being The Revival/FTR and the New Day.)

Sticking Together

Given the number of tag teams and groups that have split due to a betrayal (The Rockers, Evolution, The Shield, etc) it’s no wonder why many expect one member of the Steet Profits to betray the other.

While speaking to the Attitude Era Podcast, Dawkins was asked if there were plans for him and Ford to go their separate ways.

“Nah, never. Never. We’re brothers till the end bro. We’re always gonna support each other no matter what, we always got each other’s back, we ain’t never turning [on each other.]”

Angelo Dawkins.

Singles Push

While Dawkins has no plans to turn on Ford and vice versa, being a tag team may not prevent the Street Profits from reaching singles success.

In recent years, Ford’s ability and charisma have earned him praise from several notable names, including Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who Ford idolized during his youth.

Last October, it was reported that Dawkins had been impressing a lot of the right names backstage, with the bigger member of the team having as many singles matches from June to October as he did from April 2021 to May 2022.

MVP Teases New Faction Backstage at WWE Monday Night Raw in Boston

MVP has been working for some time to try and reunite the Hurt Business, but the veteran Superstar could soon be introducing a new faction.

Upon his return to WWE in 2020, it wasn’t long until MVP rallied his own group of Superstars, including Bobby Lashley, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin.

MVP would manage every member of the group to championship gold, with the Hurt Business having won the WWE Championship, United States Championship, Raw Tag Team Titles, and 24/7 Championship.

New Faction

While MVP has been able to win over Alexander and Benjamin with a Hurt Business reunion, Lashley has proven to be unresponsive, given that MVP betrayed him on the Raw after WrestleMania 38.

Taking to Instagram this week, MVP teased that he has been speaking business with some names backstage, including his current client Omos, and the Street Profits, and NXT’s Carmelo Hayes.

Called Up?

Of all the names in the photo above, perhaps the most interesting is Hayes, who is yet to be called up to WWE’s main roster.

That’s not for lack of trying, as Hayes has in the past suggested that his time with NXT is coming to an end, and he is said to be well-liked by WWE management.

Hayes was at RAW last night for a match against Akira Tozawa during the pre-Raw WWE Main Event tapings.

During this week’s WWE NXT, it was confirmed that Hayes will challenge NXT Champion Bron Breakker at the Stand and Deliver event on April 1.

WWE Teases Breakup Of Popular Tag Team On Raw

The Street Profits are one of the most popular tag teams of WWE who have been together since 2016. Though if the events of Raw are any indication of things to come, then their days of teaming together are numbered.

Tonight’s episode of the show from the Toyota Center in Houston saw Seth ‘Freaking’ Rollins coming out to talk about Roman Reigns.

When the Raw stars interrupted him, he discussed how they have been losing a lot lately. Rollins mentioned their loss to The Usos at the latest SummerSlam PPV this past Saturday. He said The Street Profits should just break up.

Angelo Dawkins and Montez ford then fired back at The Architect mentioning how they beat him and Buddy Murhpy for the Raw tag team championships. Ford also noted that Cody Rhodes beat him with “only one boobie.”

This led to Seth Rollins challenging the duo for a fight on Raw. Ford and Dawkins decided to play rock-paper-scissors to determine who will face the former world champion. However, Ford then grabbed the referee and ran down to the ring.

Dawkins disappeared from the segment as the match began. The commentary was discussing what the future holds for the former tag champions during the bout.

Seth won this match with a Curb Stomp but he continued his attack post-match. Angelo Dawkins then came out again to save his partner and end the segment.

The Street Profits have said on multiple occasions that they don’t want a traditional breakup. However, the company does seem to be moving in that direction based on events of Raw.

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Title Match Announced For SummerSlam 2022

Another match for the 2022 SummerSlam premium live event has been announced.

New Tag Title Match Announced

WWE has announced that The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) will defend their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships against The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) at WWE SummerSlam.

The Usos defeated The Street Profits at WWE Money in the Bank. However, Montez’s shoulder was up during the pinfall, giving the Street Profits a valid reason for a rematch.

WWE had the following to say in their announcement post:

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos say there isn’t a team in WWE who can beat them. After a controversial finish to their recent title matchup against The Street Profits at WWE Money in the Bank, however, their status as “Undisputed” has now come into question. And that question will be settled, one way or the other, in a rematch at SummerSlam!

The Usos have been on an absolute tear since becoming champions, overcoming the best that SmackDown has to offer in their record-setting reign, including unifying the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships against RK-Bro and emerging victorious in a close battle with Shinsuke Nakamura & Riddle on the blue brand.

Although Jimmy & Jey also officially retained the tag team gold against explosive former titleholders Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins at the WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, a replay showed that Ford’s shoulder was clearly off the canvas before the three-count.

At The Biggest Event of the Summer, The Street Profits will be up and looking to both knock The Usos down a peg and finally lay claim to the Undisputed Tag Team Title. Can Ford & Dawkins take back the the championship gold, or will another climb to “Mount Bloodline” knock the wind out of them once and for all?

Find out at SummerSlam, streaming LIVE on Saturday, July 30, at 8 ET/5 PT on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.

Possible Street Profits Breakup

It was recently reported on the Wrestling Observer Radio that the current plan for Montez Ford is for him to be pushed as a singles star. This could be where the official breakup of The Street Profits takes place.

WWE SummerSlam 2022 Preview

WWE Wants To Push Top Tag Team Performer as Singles Star

It began to become more apparent than ever during the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view that it looks like WWE is planning to split up The Street Profits in the near future.

Money in the Bank

At Money in the Bank, The Street Profits lost their match against The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.

Last night, during the pay-per-view, the commentary team brought up rumors that there were issues brewing between Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins.

This was also brought up on SmackDown, and the announcers have been bringing up Ford’s physique in recent weeks.

This leads many to believe that this is the thinking of Vince McMahon as he is known to be in the ear of the commentary team.

Montez As A Singles Wrestler

On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that the current plan for Montez Ford is for him to be pushed as a singles star.

Bryan Alvarez said, “Very interesting by the way that they made a very very big deal for like minutes on end about Montez Ford’s new physique and how big he was, how strong he was…

Also on SmackDown, they had a very interesting deal where they had a face-to-face with The Usos and Ford and Dawkins. The Usos say, ‘there have been rumors that you guys haven’t been getting along.'”

Dave Meltzer added, “I know that there’s people who want to push Ford as a single. It’s possible.

“I tell you what, it’s gonna be really tough for Dawkins. If they break up the team, I can see him really falling off.

“I can see them really trying to do something with Ford as a single. He’s got a lot of charisma, a super athlete. There’s people who are very high on him right now, especially with his new physique.”

SummerSlam

Last night, after the match, the announcers pointed out that Montez’s shoulder was off the mat during the three count. This means that there is a rematch coming.

The rematch will likely take place at SummerSlam. This could also be where the official breakup of The Street Profits takes place.

WWE Possibly Teases Tag Team Breakup

WWE may have dropped a hint that one of its top tag teams could soon be splitsville.

When it comes to WWE, the tag team division is thin. Randy Orton is out with a back injury, so the red hot RK-Bro team is on ice at the moment.

The Usos are the top team in the company but their challengers are running low.

While one would think WWE would keep as many teams together as possible, the company may have teased a breakup.

The Streets Profits Splitting?

During the July 1 episode of WWE SmackDown, there was an “Ask Them Anything” segment. Kayla Braxton served as the host.

The segment featured Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and their Money in the Bank challengers The Street Profits.

During the segment, Braxton said she’s heard rumors that Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins haven’t been getting along.

The Street Profits denied the rumor. Dawkins went as far as to liken Ford as a brother.

Many fans and experts have expressed their belief that Montez Ford will eventually become a singles star. He’s certainly been putting in work in the gym and some feel he’s ready to be on his own.

Time will tell if this will lead to a breakup.

Angelo Dawkins On The Street Profits’ Next Title Run: “Our Time Is Coming”

Angelo Dawkins knows The Street Profits are due for some gold again.

Dawkins is one-half of The Street Profits along with Montez Ford. The two have held the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships and performed at WrestleMania 38.

A Matter Of Time

Heading into June, The Streets Profits want to ensure that they don’t go all of 2022 without some gold around their waists once again.

Speaking to Steve Fall for NBC Boston’s Ten Count podcast, Angelo Dawkins said the clock is ticking on The Usos.

“Look, our time is coming. We’re just biding our time. We’re scheming, we’re coming up with the next plan to see how we’re gonna get these Tag Team Titles around our waist.

“Whether we do it on Raw, whether we do it on SmackDown, whether we do it at the pay-per-view or premium live event, it don’t matter to us.

“As long as we get those titles back that’s all that matters to us.”

Dawkins went on to say that performing at WrestleMania back in April was a huge deal for The Street Profits. He says the team is now pushing forward.

“Now, I will say WrestleMania, a lot of fun. That was the big one that we wanted to be on.

“Now, the goal is SummerSlam obviously. The goal is Money in the Bank. But yeah, our goal was definitely set on being on WrestleMania. We got to handle business there.

“So, now the goal is get those tag titles. Maybe even throw a little party, a little after party.”

The Street Profits are currently in the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Title mix. The Usos hold all the hardware at the moment.

Street Profits Reflect On Working With Randy Orton & Rey Mysterio

The Street Profits have gained a wealth of knowledge working with legends such as Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have been a team since 2016 and have garnered success. The two are former Raw, SmackDown, and NXT Tag Team Champions.

Working With Legends

Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT spoke to both Ford and Dawkins and the two relished being able to share the ring with Orton and Mysterio.

“I don’t want to make them sound old, but to grow up and watch and idolize these guys and to now compete against them is mind-blowing, man,” Montez Ford said. “It’s not only something that you don’t expect to happen, but when it does happen, it’s like surreal. It’s a real-life video game.

“Just to be around them to gain knowledge of how they maneuver, their techniques, the pacing, the patience they have… it’s a blessing man.”

Dawkins chimed in, saying he would’ve never imagined working with two icons just a few days apart.

“If you told me when I started I’d be sharing the ring with Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton in the same week, I would have looked at you like ‘yeah, you crazy, dawg.’ I feel like wrestling those guys is very helpful to us because they have so much knowledge to give. And, they’re willing to give it and we’re willing to listen.

“They’re open to our ideas as well and to get that reception and for them to take us under their wing and stuff, it’s crazy.

“Also, when you go in there with them, you’re in that mindset like ‘man, better not suck! You better be on your A-game, dawg!’ Because if not, they’re going to expose you real quick and it ain’t gonna be a fun day. Being in the ring with those two legends is just taking it up to another level.”

Much has been made over what the future could hold for Street Profits. Some believe that Montez Ford has the potential to be a top singles star. A split could leave Dawkins on the outside looking in.

For now, the two will continue to be a team and time will tell if WWE makes the call on a split in the near future.

Angelo Dawkins Would Like A New Day Style Split For Street Profits

The New Day have taken a unique approach when it comes to splitting a team. As opposed to the usual practice of one guy turning on the rest of the team, each member of the trio has branched off towards singles career in his own way in the past couple of years. Yet they have remained friends. All three of the stars celebrate each other’s success and support each other during their failure.

Angelo Dawkins of the Street Profits hopes that they will be able to follow a similar path when it’s time for him and his partner Montez Ford to go their separate ways.

One half of the former Raw tag team champions was the most recent guest on Ryan Satin’s Out Of Character podcast. He was asked about a potential singles run for him and whether he would like The Street Profits to follow the example of The New Day.

Dawkins replied positively. He praised his partner saying that Ford has the potential to become a world champion someday. Angelo Dawkins claimed that he would like to be on his partner’s side when that happens:

“Yeah, that’d be cool. We haven’t really honestly discussed that. But if it ever happens, that’s what we would hope to happen. We still be boys while we watch each other flourish. I think Tez has the potential to be one of the best. He does have [The] Rock vibes. I agree with everybody that says that he has the potential to hold THE title.”

“That’s my brother for life”

– Angelo Dawkins on his partner Montez Ford

Angelo Dawkins continued, “So I hope I’m there to support him, and I’ll be right there with him. That’s my brother for life. And he’ll be there for me as well If the opportunity ever went that way. If it does happen, hopefully we kind of do what the New Day does and still be cool with each other. Still be a unit just in case somebody tries to be funny and try to jump up on one of us.”

WWE almost broke up the Street Profits during last year’s drafts before the officials decided against the idea. So while the company doesn’t seem to have any immediate plans for the duo to split up, we can never be sure when it might end up happening. Apart from this, Angelo Dawkins also shared his dream WrestleMania 38 match which you can check out here.

Angelo Dawkins Shares His Dream Match for Wrestlemania 38

The Street Profits Angelo Dawkins has shared his dream match for Wrestlemania 38. This year, the event occurs at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on April 2nd and 3rd.

Dawkins appeared on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, where he revealed his dream match. He wants to team with Montez Ford to challenge The New Day and The Usos in a three-way tag team match for the Raw and Smackdown Tag Team Championships. He also wants to show that The Street Profits are on the same level as both teams.

“…Us, me and Tez vs. The New Day vs. The Usos for all the marbles. Both tag team titles on the line,” said Dawkins. He explains, “We beat The New Day at Survivor Series. We have yet to beat the Usos. They probably have the best rivalry in tag team history, pretty much. New Day being dawned the greatest tag team ever in WWE history, and the Usos are right up there with them at the mountaintop, and we’re the new kids on the block that are still trying to find our way, but we scratch the surface because we beat The New Day, but now we have to beat the Usos, but if we beat them both, we’re right up there with them.”

Street Profits Waiting on Wrestlemania Moment

The Street Profits have yet to perform at Wrestlemania in front of a crowd. WWE didn’t have them on Wrestlemania 37 last year. They also won a tag team match against Angel Garza and Austin Theory at Wrestlemania 36 on April 5th, 2020. However, due to Covid-19, they wrestled to no audience. When asked by Satin if Dawkins was frustrated that The Street Profits weren’t at Wrestlemania 37, Dawkins said he wasn’t.

“…Everything happens for a reason. I’ve always prided myself for being a patient guy, and I got a feeling that we are going to be on this year’s Wrestlemania. If not, we’ll be on next year’s Wrestlemania. I’m just going to have that mindset, and patience has always been a key for me and Tez, and we’ve both like prided ourselves on that no matter what,” said Dawkins.

What’s Next for The Street Profits

The Street Profits lost a Raw Tag Team Championship match against RK-BRO at Day 1 on January 1st. The Usos also defeated The New Day to retain the Smackdown Tag Team Championships at Day 1. However, it doesn’t look like their rivalry is over. For Dawkins to have his dream match, The Street Profits will need to win the Raw Tag Team Championships. If that happens, the WWE could potentially have The Street Profits vs. The Usos vs. The New Day in a winner takes all match at Wrestlemania 38. It’s unclear if WWE has plans for The Street Profits, but Dawkins seems to have an exciting idea for fans.

WWE Delays RK-Bro-Nament Finals Due To Injuries

WWE has announced that its final match in the RK-Bro-Nament has been pushed back.

The Dec. 13 episode of Raw was supposed to feature a tag team match between Rey & Dominik Mysterio and The Street Profits. The winners would’ve been guaranteed a shot at Randy Orton and Matt Riddle for the Raw Tag Team Championships.

As plans will be, plans will go awry.

RK-Bro-Nament Finals Rescheduled

WWE’s Sarah Schreiber has announced that due to injuries on both teams, the mini-tournament has been pushed back to Dec. 27.

“I have some breaking news for you. The finals of the RK-Bro-Nament between Rey and Dominik Mysterio and The Street Profits have been postponed for tonight due to injuries on both set of teams.

“But we have it rescheduled in two weeks to find out who will earn the Raw Tag Team Championship opportunity on December 27th on Monday Night Raw.”

There is no word on exactly who suffered injuries. It should be noted that Montez Ford of The Street Profits did not appear at the house show events this past weekend. His partner, Angelo Dawkins, was in singles action.

Montez Ford Discusses Potential Singles Run If Street Profits Split

One half of the current SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Montez Ford, discussed the possibility of a future singles run in a recent interview.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, Ford entertained the idea of a solo run. He noted how if it were to happen following a draft, he and Angelo Dawkins would no doubt support one another.

“If myself and Dawkins were to get drafted and go separate ways, it would definitely be one of those situations where like, he’ll support me and be all for it and vice versa,” Ford said. “It’s one of those things where we’ll just be supportive, man. So yeah, it’d be definitely one of those things that we’d be supportive and be excited about.”

Montez Ford quickly added how he doesn’t think a Street Profits split will be “happening any time soon.”

He noted how he likes to fly around the ring. Ford joked how he needs his partner to “knock over those bigger guys.”

Ford pointed to larger WWE Superstars like Bruan Strowman and Keith Lee as examples of this.

The Street Profits recently faced off against Raw’s New Day at WWE’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. The two teams clashed in a Champions versus Champions matchup. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins would ultimately win a hard-fought contest against Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

Championship Match Confirmed For WWE SummerSlam

WWE has made the first match to be featured on the card for this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event official.

The next challengers to WWE RAW Tag Team Champions The Street Profits will be Angel Garza and Andrade.

During Monday’s episode of RAW on the USA Network, WWE held a match that would determine who is next line for a title shot.

Triple Threat Tag Team Match that saw Angel Garza & Andrade vs. Viking Raiders vs. Ricochet & Cedric Alexander took place with the winners becoming the next challengers to the title.

It was a lengthy match that had a finish of Garza hitting his finisher to Alexander while staring at the champions.

Garza and Andrade were victorious, earning the right to challenge Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford for the RAW Tag Team Titles. The champions were at ringside for the contest and the challengers attacked them after the bout was over.

WWE holds the SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from a location to be announced. WWE has already confirmed that it would not take place in Boston, MA from the TD Garden.

Montez Ford: I Broke My Back & Still Made It To WrestleMania

On the RAW before WrestleMania 36, Montez Ford took a nasty bump to the outside. The Street Profits teamed with Kevin Owens and faced Seth Rollins, Angel Garza and Austin Theory that night. Ford jumped to the outside and was not caught by anyone. He posted the following to Twitter shortly after:

The following user on Twitter posted video of the botched move:

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were recently interviewed by the Mirror UK and Ford spoke about making it to WrestleMania after “breaking his back.”

“The bump to outside? That was nothing, just another day at the office,” he said. “I will say this though, I broke my back and still made it in time three days before WrestleMania!”

Ford was also asked if he’ll look back at WrestleMania 36 with fond memories.

“Absolutely, of course. Just the fact that not only did we walk in as champions and walked out as champions, I had my wife by my side, my brother by my side,” Ford said.

“We came out with a WrestleMania win, as of right now The Street Profits are 1-0 at WrestleMania. Just one of the things we will cherish, it’s WrestleMania and still no matter what, it’s the greatest stage of them all and something we will cherish till we can no longer move.”

The Street Profits Win WWE RAW Tag Team Titles

After a few different tries, The Street Profits have fulfilled their dream of becoming the WWE RAW Tag Team Champions.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins did so when they dethroned Seth Rollins and Murphy to win the titles on Monday’s episode of RAW in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center on the USA Network.

The finish saw Kevin Owens take out Rollins that led to the AOP chasing after him and Dawkins hitting a frog splash off the top rope to Rollins for the victory. This marks the first time that they have held the titles together.

This was a rematch that saw Rollins and Murphy retain the titles over The Street Profits at the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the Mohammed Abdou Arena on the WWE Network last week.

Rollins and Murphy beat Ivar and Erik to win the WWE RAW Tag Team Titles on January 20th episode of RAW in Wichita, KS at the Intrust Bank Arena.

WWE presents the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that will air on the WWE Network.

Although not officially announced, with the event being just days away, it’s possible that a rematch will be booked between these two teams at the show.

It should be noted that WWE hyped this as a “now or never” match for The Street Profits.

Booker T On Facing The Revival, Wanting To Manage The Street Profits

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has laid out two goals he would like to keep in 2020. During 2019’s final episode of WWE Backstage, Booker T shared how he would love to team up with his brother, Stevie Ray, to take on The Revival. He also reiterated his interest in managing RAW tag team The Street Profits.

“You know, since I am a tag team extraordinaire, tag team specialist, fourteen Tag Team Championships throughout my reign in this business, I’m looking forward to the tag team division getting crunk in 2020,” Booker T said. He then added, “And I might even manage The Street Profits somewhere along the year.”

Renee Young then asked Booker T about his interest in facing off against The Revival. A match between the two teams was initially teased during the WWE TLC Kickoff show last year after The Revival disrespected Booker T. The Revival challenged Harlem Heat to come out of retirement and face them in a one-time matchup. Reflecting on this challenge, Booker T confessed that he and Stevie Ray have spoken about accepting the match. He noted how he has “one left in me” before warning Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson to not “get jacked up, sucka!”

Booker T On How He’d Manage The Street Profits

Booker T has previously stated his interest in managing The Street Profits. During an interview with ESPN 97.5 in Houston, he shared how he would help them evolve as a team, stating he would “Just put a little bit more street on em, that’s all. It’d be no playing, no jiving, just business.”

He explained how, sometimes, a wrestler has to be viewed as more than just an entertainer. When you can make that switch, he noted that you “[…] feel it in the soul, deep down in one’s bones. That’s what I loved about the business and that’s what I think I can bring to the Street Profits.”

The Street Profits Discuss How They Became A Tag Team

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, who are collectively known as The Street Profits, talked about how they came together and formed a tag team while appearing on the December 12 episode of Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast.

Ford and Angelo were doing their own thing on NXT until they were paired together and would go on to win the NXT Tag Team Championship.

On the podcast, Ford & Dawkins recalled how they were both paired together when they both arrived at the WWE Performance Center for a promo class wearing Mocassin shoes.

“When we got to the PC – at my second tryout where they hired me at – they later put me through acting classes, which Angelo Dawkins was in that acting class. So, I got brought upstairs with I think there was six of us that they thought about hiring and I remember that day I thought that promos were going to be in the evening; normally I show up with a suit everywhere. I had worn my ring gear to what pretty much was the promo class and I was upset because I didn’t have a suit on and eventually they took us upstairs to the acting class and I had on gym shorts and gym clothes and some Moccasins,” stated Ford.

“I had worn my ring gear to what pretty much was the promo class and I was upset because I didn’t have a suit on and eventually they took us upstairs to the acting class and I had on gym shorts and gym clothes and some Moccasins,” Ford said. “So, I remember sitting up there and they were going like, ‘Hey Dawkins, that is a perfect fit for the both of you, he is wearing Moccasins too.’ And Dawkins was like, ‘Yeah, I see that.'”

Ford then recalled how after an event where Angelo Dawkins had a match against No Way Jose and Ford had one against Steve Cutler, the producers came up to them and told them that they want to pair the two together and make a tag team. Ford thinks that he was fortunate enough to be paired with someone who he actually knew from before.

The Street Profits started appearing on Raw in backstage segments from July and it was revealed in the WWE Draft that they were drafted to the Raw brand. They’ve also made appearances for Evolve and even won the Evolve Tag Team Championship from The Doom Patrol at Evolve 114.

The Street Profits Share An Emotional Goodbye To NXT (Video)

Former NXT Tag Team Champions The Street Profits have said farewell to the black-and-gold brand. The team, comprised of Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford, shared an emotional goodbye to NXT during a show in Vancouver.

WWE NXT’s Twitter account uploaded a video capturing Dawkins’ message to the fans, accompanied by the caption:

“The #StreetProfits’ @AngeloDawkins had an emotional goodbye to the #NXTUniverse in #NXTVancouver with @MontezFordWWE by his side. #WeAreNXT”

In the video, Ford reminded his tag team partner of his seven-year journey to the main roster. The crowd then start a “You deserve it” chant causing Dawkins to break into tears.

“I ain’t really good at goodbyes either,” Dawkins confessed. “But…as we all know saying from the bottom of our hearts: everybody in here is NXT!

The team were recently drafted to Monday Night RAW after weeks of cameo appearances and backstage segments.

The decision to feature them was apparently the idea of RAW Executive Director, Paul Heyman. He is reportedly a fan of The Street Profits work and sees mainstream potential in them for the main roster.

During last week’s episode of RAW, the Street Profits were beaten down by The O.C. in a backstage segment, suggesting a big feud for them out the gate.

The Street Profits Discuss Their Time In NXT, Team Dynamics

Former WWE NXT Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits, recently featured on an episode of Lilian Garcia’s podcast, Chasing Glory. The team, comprised of Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, spoke about their WWE journey so far as well as their team dynamics.

Before teaming with Ford, Dawkins had been a part of the NXT roster for some time. He recounted watching people leave the black-and-gold brand over the years for WWE’s main roster. He explained how these Superstars had experience honing their craft, competing in promotions across the world. Although he suffered minor envy at their move to RAW or SmackDown, he tried to put everything in perspective:

“They’ve travelled the world, they’ve wrestled countless, like a bunch of matches, they have all this experience and everything, they already kind of got it figured out, so when they got here, they were like, ‘oh yeah, y’all are ready to go up.’ It was like, they have that experience for a reason and they see that in them for a reason,” Dawkins said. “Me, anytime that happened and I saw it, there would be people who would get mad but me, it kinda sucked but at the same time I was like, yo, they did all that. The furthest I ever travelled was like Arizona for a bowl game so…I always had to put things in perspective because if you don’t, it’ll drive you crazy around here.”

He continued, “Granted, I’ve been here longer than everybody here at the PC, going on seven years…the day before we go live. Crazy part about it was, I didn’t really start actually doing mediocre okay until [my] fifth year here because I was still learning and I’m still learning now, but I’m a lot more comfortable doing everything than I was when I first walked in.”

Reflecting on his partnership with teammate Ford, Dawkins spoke about their dynamic as a duo.

“It’s just the rapport, we’ve already been cool for so long that it was pretty easy just to mesh. Now, finding moves that correlate, that’s a little bit different. But us talking, very easy. But our movements are very different, I’m athletic but he can out-jump me in any aspect possible.”

Details On WWE’s Plans For The Street Profits

Details on what WWE has in store for The Street Profits has surfaced online.

Dave Meltzer reported on F4Wonline.com that Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins will remain on the NXT roster.

This is despite the fact that WWE had them drop the NXT Tag Team Titles to The Undisputed Era at the TV tapings last Thursday in Winter Park, Florida. The match should air on September 4 or September 11.

According to the report, the decision to have them drop the titles had nothing to do with The Profits being on the main roster. It was added that the tag team will continue to do the non-wrestling backstage segments on RAW.

Title Change At WWE NXT TV Tapings (Spoilers)

Back in late July, it was reported that there were no plans for Ford and Dawkins to wrestle on the main roster. Instead, the team will continue to do backstage segments.

The reason for them wearing the titles on RAW was a form of advertising for NXT. The idea was that fans seeing them on RAW may make fans want to see more of them and the weekly NXT TV show is the place where you can see them wrestle.

Although Ford and Dawkins have been doing backstage segments on RAW since July 1st, they were not considered to be officially called up to the main roster.
