Taryn Terrell On Her Time in WWE: “I Was Not A Good Person”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuWAyEfcepc

A few days ago, the above video featuring WWE Diva (as Tiffany) turned TNA Knockout Taryn Terrell started to get passed around a bit by wrestling fans (though it’s actually a month old). In the video, she talks about taking a renewed interest in her faith as a Christian, being that it was something she had neglected for a while. Today, both The Christian Post and The New York Post picked up her comments, which brought the video a lot of attention.

She’s not really specific about what specific behavior she’s talking about, whether it’s her domestic incidents with Drew Galloway or something else. She seems to have taken responsibility for whatever she feels bad about, though:

I went on the road with WWE for a while and that want to be a Christian sort of went by the wayside. I lived in sin. I was not a good person. I can say that I am ashamed of who I was in a lot of ways and the decisions that I made, and it was because I wasn’t a Christian.

A lot of times I thought, ‘How am I going to be a Christian?’ How can I be accepted by God? I have done awful things. I have not lived as a Christian. I lived as a sinner.

Terrell also explained that she didn’t actually have a good concept of how, theologically speaking, the concept of forgiveness works in Christianity:

What I didn’t understand about being saved was that I could be forgiven. I could truly be forgiven for all of the bad things that I have done. I will tell you that the moment that I truly feel and believe that I was saved—all these years of thinking, ‘Sure, I’m a Christian. I am going to Heaven. I believe that I was going there’—I was speaking with a Christian counselor in June and he asked me … ‘Are you saved?’ Again, I gave the same answer, ‘Yeah, sure. I believe in God, I believe in Heaven.’

It was then that he said, ‘Well, that’s great, but being a Christian means that you believe in Jesus. You believe that He died on the cross, that He died for our sins, that He was resurrected, that He is going to come again. That is your ticket to Heaven. That is your ticket to the Kingdom.’ It registered. It was something that I don’t know if I had heard before, or if I had heard it before, I didn’t truly hear it.

Masters Alleges Diva Maintains “Oral Agreement” With Writer

Recently released WWE star Chris Masters posted a blind item on his Twitter account (twitter.com/wwemasterp) Sunday alleging that a female member of the SmackDown roster maintains sexual relations with head creative writer Michael Hayes in order to keep her job.

He wrote, “So if I had to tell you one smackdown diva who gave freebird hayes an “Oral” agreement to keep her job, who’d you guess?”

Similar allegations regarding sexual politics in the WWE lockerroom have been made as Taryn Terrell (a/k/a Tiffany) stated last December that she would not trade sexual favors with individuals in positions of power in order to maintain employment with the sports entertainment organization.

“No…if I have to sleep with people in power to keep or continue progressing in my job, I’d rather be poor,” she wrote on Twitter in response to a specific question about whether she would return to WWE.

She later retracted her remark, saying it wasn’t about WWE or anyone in particular, but rather a generalized statement of companies she’s worked for.

The website remains down as of this post; it instead redirects to WWE.com.

London Rips Hardy & His Girlfriend, Ex-Diva In Car Accident

— Former WWE star Paul London took Matt Hardy and his girlfriend Reby Sky to task recently on Twitter. Regarding his former colleague’s arrest for driving while intoxicated, London wrote, “Karma Police, arrest this man. He talks in myths He buzzes like a fridge He’s like a detuned radio… This is what u get This is what u get.”

Sky, a former Playboy model, has undergone extensive wrestling training with Hardy this year and appeared on several wrestling shows. London, however, feels she’s a ‘wannabe’.

“Wake/Bake Up Call to ALL wannabe ‘wrestlers’, wannabe ‘models’ and professionally tazered SKANKS: W/out paying ANY REAL dues, how can one ACTUALLY expect any form of respect in ANY work environment?” he wrote. “When you’re surrounded by men who have truly sacrificed to be where they are, why don’t you stop trying to take short cuts ( by taking clothes off) and actually TRY AND LEARN SOMETHING? ANYTHING? Kill your ego for once.”

— Former WWE Diva Tiffany (a/k/a Taryn Terrell) stated on Twitter that she totaled her car Monday night. The former Playboy model was taken to the hospital but did not suffer any serious injuries.

On August 8, 2010, Terrell was arrested in Los Angeles County, California for domestic assault, a misdemeanor, after an alleged argument with Galloway. She was released later that day on $20,000 bail. It was announced on September 26 that all charges against Terrell had been dropped.

Terrell was suspended by WWE due to the altercation. She was released from her contract on November 19, 2010.

Tiffany Pulled From Indy Show After Making Additional Demands

Taryn Terrell (a/k/a Tiffany) was pulled from a scheduled match against Cheerleader Melissa at a Pro Wrestling Revolution event next month in San Francisco after the former WWE Diva made additional demands to organization officials they feel should have been brought up prior to the booking being accepted and promotion of the match taking place.

Diva-Dirt.com added, “While these requests were simply not feasible for the independent wrestling scene, we’d like to stress that ChickFight and Pro Wrestling Revolution did attempt to cater to Ms Terrel’s requests, despite already having an agreement with her.”

Terrell took to Twitter last night to comment on her side of the story.

“I was taken off a show without my knowledge. I was very much looking forward to this match and am saddened that they were in talks with my team and decided against working with me. Nothing I was asking was out of the ordinary, and it is standard in every entertainment contract. In fact, I was taking far less than my booking fee to have the amazing opportunity to face Alissa Flash. I apologize to my fans as I did not see this coming. No one communicated that they didn’t want to review the contract and I was unaware they were pulling me. And I hope to see you guys, my wonderful fans, soon. I do thank Diva-Dirt, ChickFight, and Pro Wrestling Revolution for considering me and hope to have the opportunity to work with you all at some point. I do have a few appearances coming up which will be posted online soon! Love you all!”

Tiffany Says The McIntyre-Kelly Angle Was Meant For Her

Former WWE Diva Tiffany (real name Taryn Terell) was interviewed recently by the Miami Herald newspaper and talked about what it’s like being gone from WWE with her real life husband Drew McIntyre still traveling the world with the company.

“I went from working as much as Drew to, all of a sudden, he is gone all the time,” she said. “I’m home all the time, so I have to play housewife. That is a little weird and definitely not who I am because I like to work a lot. The whole situation sucks, but on the other hand, there are other opportunities.”

Tiffany also revealed that the current SmackDown storyline with Drew McIntyre and Kelly Kelly was originally one that she and Drew pitched to WWE creative for themselves. She told the Herald:

“Since I got released, they decided to use Kelly. I’m not really sure if that was meant as a way of, `Yeah. You’re gone. Let us torture you a little bit’ or not. It is what it is. I will never know. It sucks because I know that was the role originally pitched for me and Drew, which would have been amazing because we are actually a couple. I think it’s a little bit ridiculous because everyone who watches WWE knows that we are married. So it’s a little strange.”

She continued, “I personally don’t understand it, but at the same time I sort of get myself into a little bit of controversy talking about it. I get all these tweets saying how I feel about it and about how it’s not acting. Wrestling is real. The actual wrestling is real. Everybody beats the crap out of each other. That’s all real. What goes on backstage and is written by the writers is all acting. It’s acting. So it doesn’t hurt my feelings.”

Jillian Discusses Being Unhappy In WWE, Reuniting With Divas

The Miami Herald recently conducted an interview with Jillian Hall and the former Divas Champion noted her unhappiness towards the end of her tenure with World Wrestling Entertainment, which concluded in November.

“I wasn’t really happy with what I was doing with the company for a while,” Hall said. “I just reached a point where I felt it was time to move on and see what else is out there for me to do.”

Hall also indicated that she is not sure she would return to the organization should the opportunity present itself.

“I don’t know that I really want to go back,” Hall said. “I love the company and the people in it. I just think that part of my life is over. I’m saying that now, but it can change a month from now. Who knows?

“Right now I’m so up in the air whether I want to continue wrestling or pursue other avenues. There is a part of me that definitely wants to wrestle again. There is another part of me that hurts and says, ‘Don’t do it anymore. Give your body a rest.’

She also discussed plans to reunite with former colleagues Maria Kanellis and Taryn Terrell (a/k/a Tiffany) for the 2011 DivaMania Tour, with appearances at various clubs around the world. Terrell and Scott Celebrity Management president Andrew Scott concocted the idea, which Hall found interesting.

“I thought that for one, it’s not going to hurt my body,” Hall said. “For two, it will give me the opportunity to meet fans and enjoy myself with some friends. I plan on having a lot of fun with the girls.”

Former WWE Diva Tiffany Backtracks Casting Couch Remark

Taryn Terrell (a/k/a Tiffany) noted the following Saturday on Twitter when asked if she would return to her former employer, World Wrestling Entertainment:

“No…if I have to sleep with people in power to keep or continue progressing in my job, I’d rather be poor.”

She backtracked her remarks Sunday, saying it wasn’t about WWE or anyone in particular, but rather a generalized statement of companies she’s worked for.

“I’m deleting a certain text because it’s being taken the wrong way,” she wrote. “It was certainly not talking about anyone or any incident. Just that I’ve worked many jobs in which the casting couch has existed and I refuse to ever take part in that. so it was a generalized statement of companies I’ve worked for, which none of you know what companies they were; and It was not about wwe. so I apologize if it was taken out of context and reads differently than what I meant.”

Meanwhile, former WWE talent Shelly Martinez (a/k/a Ariel) gave her take on Terrell’s initial remark being deemed ‘shocking’.

“For the record I do not think Tiffany’s response was shocking,” she wrote on Twitter. “Simply reality.”

Tiffany’s Response To Question Regarding Possible WWE Return

Recently released WWE talent Taryn Terrell (a/k/a Tiffany) answered a number of questions from fans yesterday on her Twitter account. When asked if she thought she’d ever return to World Wrestling Entertainment, she remarked the following:

“No…if I have to sleep with people in power to keep or continue progressing in my job, I’d rather be poor,” she replied.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter editor Dave Meltzer strongly implied in the past on his f4wonline.com podcast that the only reason she landed the role of ECW General Manager despite having less than stellar verbal ability was due to management’s favoritism towards her.

Terrell later clarified her remark, noting she was not referring to former colleague Michelle McCool, who is married fellow WWE Superstar The Undertaker.

“No my tweet was not about Michelle,” Terrell clarified. “She gained her success and talent on her own, it honestly is mean that anyone would accuse her otherwise. If you are not there or in the locker room with her, it’s completely unfair to say that about her. She is talented and creative and patient and I have a ton of respect for her.”

We can confirm that HeaterMC is Mark Carrano, one of the top people in charge of WWE’s developmental system. He also works in the Talent Relations department under John Laurinaitis.

Heenan Reportedly In Very Poor Health, Creative News, More

— Bobby Heenan is reportedly in very poor health at a Florida hospital.

Lanny Poffo, brother of Randy Savage, said on the Who’s Slamming Who podcast this week that he heard from a friend that the WWE Hall of Famer “might be on his last legs.”

The wrestler formerly known as The Genius said Heenan has been “in and out of a coma” in a Tampa area hospital and is “not aware of anything.”

Heenan has been in poor health in recent years due to surgery on his throat and reconstructive jaw surgery.

This is obviously terrible news. We wish Bobby a quick and full recovery.

— There was much second-guessing among those in WWE regarding the content of pay-per-view events compared to television programming. (source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

Tiffany Discusses Release, Incident That Led To Her Suspension

Former WWE Diva, Taryn Terrell aka Tiffany joined Diva Dirt for an hour long interview discussing her time in WWE in great detail. Taryn opened up on her release last Friday, as well as the incident that took place in August which saw her arrested and suspended indefinitely from WWE. Other topics include her joining WWE through the Diva Search, training in FCW, and eventually joining ECW and then SmackDown. We discuss her thoughts on her fellow Divas, how she began dating husband Drew McIntyre and much more.

Quotes:

On WWE release & phone call from Johnny Ace: “I was heartbroken to be let go. I’m just trying to figure out what my next step is. It was one of those things, ‘We’re just really sorry and maybe we can work together in the future but right now we’re having to let people go and you’re part of it’. It’s like, you keep it together and then you get off the phone and then the tears started. Thank God my husband was home. He was there to be my side and make me feel a little better.”

On that incident in August: “Somebody had an axe to grind with my husband and it was absolutely ridiculous. It was a misunderstanding. It was just someone that was trying to screw with my husband and it was really, really crummy of them to do that. It was unfortunate, it was really blown out of proportion. People got, like, two sentences of detail and they turned into this entire story. My husband and I love each other dearly and we have an extremely healthy relationship. […] If that did have a part in me losing my job with WWE, it’s really sad that somebody did that to us. […] I just want people to know my husband and I are great and we have a wonderful relationship and nothing bad has ever happened between the two of us.”

On her passion for wrestling & wanting to be taken seriously: “In a lot of ways, I wish I would have started on the indies. I would rather have paid my dues and really earned it rather than just being able to say ‘Oh, I did the Diva Search’ because that does not garner any respect whatsoever.”

The interview can be streamed or downloaded here.

WWE Dismisses Multiple Creative Writers, Talent Removed

— World Wrestling Entertainment dismissed two to four creative team writers last week, in addition to Christopher DeJoseph, according to pwinsider.com. Their names have yet to be disclosed.

WWE has been actively scouting potential writers in recent months.

— WWE removed the profiles of those released Friday from the company website Monday. Those removed were Tiffany, Jillian Hall, Luke Gallows, Shad Gaspard, Vance Archer and Caylen Croft. Referee Aaron “Goose” Mahoney, however, was not removed.

— Today marks the twentieth anniversary of the official on-camera debut of The Undertaker. At the 1990 Survivor Series, he was introduced as the mystery partner of “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase’s “Million $ Team.”

— The term “John Cena fired” was the fifth most searched for term on Google.com last night, with “Survivor Series” placing in thirteenth.

HBK Reveals Why He Doesn’t Watch Wrestling, Tiffany Update

— Shawn Michaels noted on Twitter last night that he would not be watching the Survivor Series, writing:

“I won’t be watchin SS I’m way out of touch w/whats goin on so I can’t really give u any predictions.2 those who watch hope u enjoy. Didn’t watch much when I was doin it. Gettin 2 absorbed makes u less objective IMO. Felt I cud think out of box more that way. That’s what worked 4 me jus an opinion. Who knows diff strokes 4 diff folks. That seemed 2 work 4 me. If it aint broke don’t fix it. The important thing is that U ALL enjoy it. Shudnt matter what I thinl anyway. We r 2 provide a service 4 u, bottom line.”

Michaels posted a follow-up message after being questioned over his comments. He revealed that he no longer watches wrestling.

“That’s why I don’t talk/watch wrestling w/u all. Everybody starts playing psychologist. Holy cow its not that deep. Pretty simple 4 me. God called me home. I went home. That’s about the extent of it. No deep feelings of guilt, despair, longing.

“Just done wrestling. Sorry its not romantic enuff 4 sum of u. Works 4 me tho. Altho I’m pretty simple. So there u go.”
