Top WWE Diva Banged Up, News On The Shield’s In-Ring Debut, TLC

– Prior to CM Punk’s knee surgery and the news that he was being pulled from working TLC, there were already plans for The Shield to debut at the pay-per-view. WWE’s new trio of attackers is now being thrust into the spotlight in a main event match. While there will be pressure on them to seriously deliver, the feeling is that they are ready for opportunity and could make a big impact for themselves.

– There is still talk that a Tables Match will be added to TLC.

– WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres is banged up and will probably be taking time off soon. She worked this past weekend’s live events, but her triple-threat matches were changed to tag team matches and she didn’t do much in the way of bumping.

WWE Smackdown taping

1. World Hvt. Champion Big Show defeated Daniel Bryan. The Shield attacked Bryan. Kane ran out, but he took the Shield powerbomb through the announcers’ table.

2. 3MB defeated Brodus Clay and The Uso’s.

3. Randy Orton defeated Wade Barrett after Kofi Kingston distracted Barrett.

4. The Great Khali and Hornswoggle defeated Primo and Epico.

5. Sheamus defeated Alberto Del Rio by submission. Big Show watched the match from the stage.

Notes: Sheamus and Big Show signed a no-contact until TLC agreement. Damien Sandow’s search for a new apprentice continued and this time Miz interrupted. An angle led to Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth for the Intercontinental Title being announced for the TLC pay-per-view. Sheamus threw Ricardo Rodriguez at Show to get around the no contact rule at the end of the show. Despite the no contact rule, Sheamus beat Big Show by DQ in the dark match.

CM Punk Not Wrestling At TLC, Ryback & Team Hell No vs. The Shield Announced

WWE Champion CM Punk will not wrestle at WWE’s upcoming Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view. It was announced at Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings that Ryback will now team with Daniel Bryan & Kane in a match against The Shield: Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon issued a letter to WWE.com declaring that Punk can not wrestle at TLC, but Ryback will get his title shot in the near future.

CM Punk will spend the next several weeks recovering and preparing for his match against Rock at the Royal Rumble. Punk and Paul Heyman are expected to remain on WWE television while he recovers.

Update On CM Punk’s Knee Surgery & His Status For TLC

WWE broke the story today that WWE Champion CM Punk is undergoing “emergency” knee surgery today in Pensacola, FL. Immediately after last night’s RAW, Punk’s knee was examined Dr. James Andrews and the decision was made for him to undergo surgery today.

As for WWE’s upcoming Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view, where Punk is scheduled to wrestle Ryback in the main event, Punk’s status for the show is questionable at best.

Dave Meltzer of f4wonline.com is reporting that Punk’s knee was worse than originally expected and he won’t be competing. A reliable source we spoke to on Tuesday says he thinks WWE will keep Punk off the show and let him fully recover for his match against The Rock at the Royal Rumble.  While it’s possible that Punk could work a gimmick match against Ryback just 12 days after surgery, expect to see changes to the TLC card.

SmackDown Main Event, New Match Announced For Money In The Bank & More

– It was announced on RAW that the main event for Friday’s SmackDown broadcast will be Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett. The match will be taped tonight from North Charleston, South Carolina.

– John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler in a ladder match has been officially added to WWE’s upcoming Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view. Dolph Ziggler’s Money in the Bank briefcase will be on the line during the match.

The match was made by Vince McMahon, who told Vickie it was punishment for everything she put John Cena and AJ Lee through with her affair allegations.

Ziggler posted this video on Tout in response to the match being made:

Jim Ross Blog: Comparing Sheamus To Stone Cold, The Shield & NXT, TLC

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR wrote about:

Sheamus: “@wwesheamus has many qualities as did Stone Cold…physically and mentally tough and loves to perform at a physical level that some opponents don’t embrace. Both were great examples of not accepting being denied stardom and continued to work through career challenge no matter what hand was dealt them.”

Steve Austin Says Sheamus Is “Not Ready To Be Champion Yet”

TLC: “TLC in Brooklyn is going to be cool. First WWE event in that awesome, new facility. These are the moments that I miss most as a broadcaster. I will be content to watch the PPV from home but it would be cool to be a part of the first ever event for WWE in that much ballyhooed arena. Plus, I’ve never been to Brooklyn.”

NXT: “Our next NXT taping will be interesting now that @WWERollins, the NXT Champion, is a member of The Shield. About a week out from traveling to Orlando I start looking forward to the trip as I truly enjoy working with the next wave of WWE Superstars.

“Don’t kid yourself, the future of WWE depends on the productivity in WWE’s Developmental Program. WWE has no more important department in the entire company then Talent Development.

“Our next taping @FullSail will be Thursday night December 6 starting at 6:30. Should be an eye opening, three hour affair. (Sounds like one of King’s past romances.)”

Possible Finish For CM Punk vs. Ryback At TLC, Rumored TLC Tag Title Match

– It hasn’t been announced yet, but the current plan for the tag team titles at next month’s TLC pay-per-view is for either a 3-way match featuring Team Hell No vs. Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs. The Prime Time Players.

– As for the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match with CM Punk vs. Ryback WWE Championship match, it’s very unlikely that Ryback walks out with the belt.

As for how WWE can get away with Ryback losing to Punk for the third time in a row, one scenario would be for The Shield to interfere in the match, have Ryback get his revenge by powerbombing each of them through a table while Punk climbs a ladder and grabs the belt to win the match.

Update On Randy Orton Turning Heel, Rumored Match For TLC, Barrett’s Finisher Renamed

WWE.com has posted a series of exclusive backstage interviews from Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-views. CM Punk & Paul Heyman, Wade Barrett, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Antonio Cesaro and Vickie Guerrero among the stars interviewed.

– Following his disqualification win over the Big Show at Survivor Series, Sheamus grabbed a chair at ringside and attacked the champion. This was done to set up a Chairs Match between the two at December’s TLC pay-per-view.

– Wade Barrett’s new elbow smash finisher has been renamed. After being dubbed the “Souvenir” (because the effects of the strike stay with you for a while), the move is now known as the Bull Hammer.

– Randy Orton going for the punt kick in the Team Foley vs. Team Ziggler match at Survivor Series was done to tease his upcoming heel turn.

CM Punk Hits 365 Days, TLC Promo Video, JBL’s Error On Commentary, Renee Paquette

– With CM Punk retaining the WWE title at Survivor Series, he’s now reached the milestone of holding the title for 365 days.

– New WWE announcer Renee Paquette hosted the “hype show” before WWE Survivor Series went live. Paquette was a former broadcaster for Canada’s The Score network.

– JBL made an error on commentary at Sunday’s Survivor Series PPV when he stated that Tensai was the only individual to hold Tag Titles in Japan for two major companies simultaneously. While Tensai (as Giant Bernard) did hold the New Japan and NOAH tag team titles at the same time with Karl Anderson, Keji Mutoh & Taiyo Kea also held the All Japan and New Japan tag belts at the same time back in 1991.

– Here is the official promo video for next month’s WWE Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view:

Rumored TLC Main Event & Possible Scenarios For CM Punk’s WWE Title Future

The main event of December’s WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view is rumored to be CM Punk vs. Mick Foley. The event takes place from Brooklyn, New York, close to where Foley is from. The match would probably be a non-title match and would give Punk a year-end feud leading into his expected WWE title defense against The Rock at the Royal Rumble.

If Punk retains the WWE title at Survivor Series and drops the belt to The Rock at the Royal Rumble, this could set up either Rock vs. Cena 2 or Rock vs. Punk 2 at WrestleMania.

Another scenario would be John Cena winning the WWE title at Survivor Series, 1 day shy of CM Punk reaching the 1-year mark as champion. Cena would then go on to face The Rock at the Royal Rumble, setting up a possible Rock vs. Cena III at WrestleMania or Rock vs. Punk for the WWE title at WrestleMania, if Rock beats Cena at the Rumble.

Talk Within WWE Of Mick Foley Wrestling Again, Trish Stratus Lands 93rd Magazine Cover, Best WWE Slaps Video

– F4WOnline.com reports Wednesday that WWE officials are contemplating a match pitting Mick Foley against CM Punk at next month’s TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view event in Brooklyn, New York. Monday’s Raw angle with Jerry “The King” Lawler points in that direction, and the idea has been discussed for over a month.

– Celebrating her Greek heritage, seven-time WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus is featured on the cover of OPA!, an Australian lifestyle magazine. It marks as her 93rd magazine cover, and can be viewed her.

– WWE has released the following compilation video highlighting the best slaps in company history.

Mick Foley & CM Punk’s Feud, Rumored TLC Matches, Team Rhodes Scholars

– Not only have RAW’s ratings been declining in recent weeks, delayed/DVR viewership is way down. The October 1st episode of RAW had 298,000 homes watching on delay, while October 8th had 305,000.

– As we reported earlier this week, WWE is solidly behind the Rhodes Scholars tag team. The heel duo is expected to get another title shot by the end of the year, possibly at December’s TLC PPV.

We know WWE is strongly behind Rhodes & Sandow, so it appears WWE is taking the slow build approach so their tag title win really means something when it eventually happens.

– On Monday’s WWE RAW, we saw Team Punk vs. Team Foley announced as the main event for Survivor Series. WWE has been looking for ways to feature Punk and Foley on television for quite some time.

At one point, there was talk of CM Punk vs. Mick Foley at TLC. No word on whether this is still the plan, but a hardcore stipulation match fits Foley’s gimmick perfectly and would allow him to take shortcuts, since he’s not able to work at the main event level anymore.

Mark Henry May Be On His Way Out Of WWE

Pro Wrestling Torch reports Mark Henry may be on his way out of WWE.

On the December 12, 2011 episode of Raw, Henry pulled his groin during a match against John Cena. Testing done during the week revealed that the injury was more severe than was originally believed. The majority of WWE’s creative forces wanted to give him an easier schedule for a few weeks to let the injury heal. Vince McMahon, however, was described as being less than sympathetic to Henry’s plight and decided to have him lose the World Heavyweight Championship to Big Show the following week at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs. McMahon didn’t think Henry should have taken time off to heal and pushed him to continue making his scheduled dates. This has led to frustration on Henry’s part.

Henry’s contract with WWE is set to expire this year and the Torch says that tension could have led Henry to not renew, thus explaining why he’s losing the majority of his television matches.
