TNA House Show Results (8/3): Thibodaux, Louisiana

The following are results from the TNA Impact Wrestling live event from Thibodaux, Louisiana. The event was held on Saturday, August 3, 2013.

-Before the show officially began in the ring, Mr. Anderson came out through the crowd and claimed no one was going to receive backstage passes at this show. This led to Jeff Hardy coming out and challenging Anderson to a match. If Hardy wins, fans do get to go backstage. If he doesn’t, they don’t.

-Jeff Hardy defeated Mr. Anderson via pinfall. Hardy picked up the victory after he hit Anderson with his Twist Of Fate finisher for the clean pin. Because of the victory, fans get to go backstage.

-Gail Kim defeated ODB va pinfall. The finish came when Kim rolled up ODB for a pin, and used her feet on the ropes for added leverage. Earl Hebner was the referee for this match, and before it began the crowd got on his case with the “You Screwed Bret” chants. Hebner played it up by putting on a pair of sunglasses and mocking Hart’s gesture where he holds his hands out.

-James Storm defeated Kazarian via Disqualification. As soon as Storm was about to finish things off with the Last Call Superkick, Daniels made a run-in and cost Kazarian the match. This led to Gunner coming out to make the save. The fans chanted for a tag-team match, so the babyfaces obliged by accepting and making the match for the TNA World Tag-Team Championships. Daniels tried refusing, but when he was warned that he would be fined and suspended if he didn’t wrestle the match, he gave in.

-James Storm & Gunner defeated Daniels & Kazarian via pinfall to retain the TNA World Tag-Team Championships. Lots of action in this one, with the finish coming when Storm and Gunner each hit their finishers to pick up the pinfall victory.

-During intermission, it was once again announced that Earl Hebner had reached the milestone of serving as a referee for 100,000 matches. If fans bought his t-shirt, he and his son Brian Hebner would autograph it.

-AJ Styles defeated Devon via Submission. Styles picked up the victory and after the match, fans got on Devon’s case with a loud “You Tapped Out” chant.

TNA Impact Wrestling House Show Results (8/2): Tyler, Texas

The following are results from the TNA Impact Wrestling live event in Tyler, Texas. The event was held on Friday, August 2, 2013.

-Jeff Hardy defeated Mr. Anderson via pinfall. Hardy picked up the victory after he hit Anderson with his Twist Of Fate finisher for the pin. It’s interesting to note, Hardy never once performed a move off the top-rope in this match.

-Gail Kim defeated ODB in a Knockouts Match via pinfall. The referee for this match was Earl Hebner, so he did his “I Screwed Bret” routine, complete with the “Damn Right I Did” t-shirt and sunglasses. The Kim-ODB match was what you’d expect from these two, similar to their match on Impact Wrestling on Spike TV the night before. The finish came when Kim rolled up ODB and held the tights to secure the 1-2-3.

-Gunner defeated Christopher Daniels via Disqualification. Was said to be a good match. The finish came when Kazarian dd a run-in, costing Daniels the match and giving Gunner the victory via DQ. After the Kazarian run-in, James Storm came out to make the save. This led to an immediate TNA World Tag-Team Championship match.

-James Storm and Gunner defeated Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian via pinfall to retain the TNA World Tag-Team Championships. All four guys worked really hard in this match, and it showed, as this was definitely the best match on the card.

-AJ Styles defeated Devon (with Mike Knox) via Submission. According to live reports, these two did not mesh well as there was a clash of styles (no pun intended) with their in-ring work. Regardless, the match wasn’t that bad.

-Chris Sabin defeated Bobby Roode to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in the Main Event of the evening. This match wasn’t as long as you would think, considering it was the main event of the show and it was for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Regardless, this was an excellent match that the crowd thoroughly enjoyed. In the end, Sabin picked up the victory with his finisher to retain the title.

    NOTES:

-According to live reports, there were approximately 300-500 people in a building that can fit nearly 8,000 people.

-TNA never changed the advertising, so anyone who doesn’t read the internet was expecting Kurt Angle at the show. As a result of his not being there, nearly every match on the card had to be altered in some form or fashion.

UPDATE: Kurt Angle To Serve Jail Time Due To Latest DWI Arrest?

TNA House Show Results (7/26): Columbus, Georgia – Earl Hebner Reaches Milestone

The following are results from the TNA Impact Wrestling live event in Columbus, Georgia on Saturday, July 27, 2013.

Jeremy Borash opened the show by saying the craziest, loudest fans would receive backstage access tonight. This brought out Aces & 8’s member Devon, who said there would be no backstage access tonight because the Aces & 8’s were shutting down the show in this “inbred town” of Columbus, Georgia. With that said, out came Kurt Angle. Angle challenges Devon to a match. If Devon wins, the Aces & 8’s can shut down the show, but if Angle wins, Devon must give an Aces & 8’s t-shirt to a fan and shake his hand. This led to the match between Angle and Devon. Angle ended up winning the contest via Angle Slam. Angle gave away some backstage passes. Devon didn’t hold his end of the bargain, however, as he simply flipped off the crowd and left without giving away any shirts or shaking any hands.

The next match of the evening was between TNA Knockouts Champion Mickie James and Velvet Sky. James won with a handful of tights over Sky. Was said to be a decent match with some fun, crowd-pleasing spots.

Next up was a TNA Tag-Team Title match pitting Gunener and James Storm against Robbie E. and Jesse Godderz. Was said to be one of the most entertaining matches of the evening with a lot of comedy spots from both Robbie E. and Godderz. Even Earl Hebner got in on the action, as he helped Storm hip-toss Robbie E. at one point. In the end, the champs retained with a clean pinfall victory. After the match, Storm soaked one section of the crowd with beer.

The fourth match of the evening saw Jeff Hardy take on Bobby Roode. Hardy received easily the biggest pop of the evening from the fans in Columbus. The Hardy-Roode match was said to be pretty good, with a lot of back-and-forth action. In the end, Hardy picked up the victory via pinfall.

Intermission time. Anyone who purchased a Kurt Angle action figure was told they were allowed to go backstage to get it autographed. Also during intermission it was revealed that referee Earl Hebner had reached a milestone that would likely never be matched. Hebner has apparently officiated over 100,000 matches.

After intermission we got a Bound For Glory Series match. Mr. Anderson took on AJ Styles. Again, this was another back-and-forth match. Anderson picked up the victory, and seven points, with a handful of tights. After the bell sounds, Styles locked in the Calf Killer on Anderson and bullied Hebner around a bit.

And finally, it’s main event time. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Chris Sabin against former champion Bully Ray. Before the match, Ray cut a promo. He called out Sabin and said he should just come to the ring, get on his knees, and hand over the belt. Sabin comes out, teases handing over the title, but instead holds it over his head. The finish here saw Sabin get a roll-up pinfall victory in what was one of the shortest matches of the evening. After the match, Devon hit the ring. He and Bully Ray double-teamed Sabin for a bit until Hardy came out to make the save. Aces & 8’s scatter, leaving the ring to the babyfaces.
